Rebeca's hairstyle keeps changing practically every episode from what I remember. Not for the better though. And sadly, Angela's dressing sense doesn't improve throrugh the show either. I thought Europe was supposed to help with things like that.

I don't think Angela's completely immune to Salvador.. She's just smitten with Antonio at present.
 

Kind of fun to see these photos, Jean. I watched Cuerpo when it originally aired. Mario Cimarro doesn't really do it for me. Great bod but kind of like Yáñez, doesn't seem like there's a lot going on above the neck.
 

If PJ/Sal’s hands are so cold, I wonder how Isabel will feel when he starts laying them all over her body? Lol. Oh well, she didn’t seem to mind when their hands met today.

I agree, cc, about Angela being smitten with Antonio and that’s why she’s not swooning over PJ. It’s a good thing, too!

Speaking of swooning, they’re at it again over at TW on the Main Forum (or Foro Central), putting down Mario. I check that board every now and then, and someone posted a link to an interview where Lorena claims she and Mario didn’t get along and that she will NEVER work with him again, and apparently she and the host talk about the low ratings for LT and also the host hints about Cuerpo having high ratings only because of her. With my dial-up connection I didn’t even try to view the video, and I assume it is in Spanish anyway. And then someone else said she has never understood what the big deal is about Mario, that his looks are “average at best” and that there are other actors way better in the looks department. (Who ARE these other actors?! Pictures! I want to see pictures!) Another person agreed, and said she didn’t care for his so-called “acting”. I posted a couple of times, raving about how he is absolutely gorgeous and how could anybody call him average and a bad actor, etc. I just don’t understand it. If I didn’t know better, I’d think we were talking about two separate people: the average-looking bad actor Mario, and the gorgeous hunk superb actor Mario! There aren’t two Mario Cimarro’s, are there?! Lol. Anyway, the original poster, a guy, replied to me and said that Mario is not a good actor, very average, and “wooden” in Cuerpo, and said that Lorena stole the show. I said I agreed he is sort of “wooden” (so far, anyway) but that is because of the character he is playing—there is a gentle old man inside that body. So he can’t exactly be all wild and crazy! I also said how Lorena is good, but I would not be spending two hours a day watching that show if Mario weren’t in it. I also defended Mario’s acting in LT and PdG, how it was anything but wooden, and tried to explain about the ratings issue on LT, how I heard there was something about them not gathering the numbers correctly—I was never clear on that but they did talk about it alot on the LT board at TW in the past posts. I said LT has been my favorite novella, that I absolutely loved it. Anyway, I found it surprising that there is such a video floating around where Lorena says bad things about Mario. I guess you don’t really know what goes on behind the scenes, if this is indeed true. In any case, how could anybody say Mario is “average looking at best”?!! Have they seen that shot of him in the green shirt in the opening credits of Cuerpo? That strikingly handsome face, those piercing eyes, that hair…

As far as acting technique goes, I have to admit that so far I've been somewhat underwhelmed by Mario in this role; I confess I don't think he's found his "groove" yet at this point and I hope that changes. That being said, I did have an "Awwww...." moment when PJ/S met with Angela for the first time. One area where Cimarro does have flashes of brilliance now & again is in conveying emotion with his eyes, and I thought this scene was one of the best examples of that we've seen in this show so far. His words & facial expressions were very proper & formal when he interacted with Angela, but when it was just him looking at her, I thought there was a very palpable sense of his wanting to run over and hug her. Very sweet.

Does anyone remember the old Tootsie pop commercials that featured the cartoon owl that said, "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop?"
Then he licks it, counting after each lick, 'One...tuh-HOO...thhhhhhreeeee...", (cracks the pop in half with his beak)... "Thhhhhreee." Rebeca's speech reminds of that owl! The way she excessively rolls all her final consonants leaves me expecting her to crack a Tootsie pop every time she finishes a sentence. Instead of Tía Rebeca I may have to start calling her "Búho" (owl) Rebeca! ;-)
 

I just watched the Lorena Rojas spanish radio show interview via the TW link. Of the 5:53 minutes, only the last 2:30 min or so is about ECDD/Mario. It was interesting. She was quite professional and handled the questions very well, usually deflecting them with a laugh and then giving a politically savvy answer, not avoiding the truth but making sure to soften it with appropriate analogies, etc.

The host mentioned that LT had had ratings trouble, to which she replied that she'd heard that. When asked why she thought that was, she laughed & said, "I don't know what that would depend on." He then asked if it had been difficult working with "the baby Cimarro", as rumors had indicated. She giggled nervously & looked around but got pretty serious, faced the mic and said, "No, it wasn't easy; there was nothing easy about it for me." She explained that it was the first time she & a co-star hadn't gotten on well, so she had hoped it wasn't her fault. She said while she shouldn't necessarily expect to get along with everyone, she was relieved to find that in filming her current telenovela, "Pecados Ajenos", that everything once again fell into place as it always had, so she concluded that "it wasn't me."

The host then asked how she was able to work with someone she "couldn't stand", as that had never happened to him. She again difused it with laughter, saying those kind of situations come up everywhere - in offices, in schools, etc., not just in show biz. The host then commented that it's said that historically, the best duos always get along badly in real life. She replied, "Could be."

He asked whether she felt Mario was "a bigger divo than the divas". She laughed again and said she just didn't understand him, and didn't want to get into it(? - I couldn't hear the verb she used.) He then asked if Mario had "hizo muchos desplantes". (While this normally means he was rude or arrogant, I think in this context it might be interpreted as was he "high maintenance", or "difficult" as actors go - demanding, not working well with others, etc.) I take this interpretation because in her response she said, "Yes; honestly, yes. I'm not going to deny it because it's the reality, it happened. But there's nothing wrong with that." (Hmm?). "We did our work as required; the screen pairing worked and that's what was important. We kept to ourselves, each with our own interests but one great interest in common; the show. We came together 100% for the show to be successful."

She was pretty unequivocal, however, about never wanting to work with him again. When asked simply if she ever would, she said, "No, definitely no." Even if she was offered a project with all the money in the world but her co-star was Cimarro? "No. No. No, absolutely not. I'm quite clear about that."

Unfortunately, stars with angelic faces are too often far from it. There were rumors during the early days of LT that Mario had threatened to quit due to his compensation demands not being met. Also, his bad temper and infidelities allegedly resulted in the end of his marriage. All things considered, I'm pretty sure Lorena Rojas wasn't just making up stories, sad to say...
 

I find this conversation really distasteful. Have we ever heard of Mario bad mouthing any co-stars? I think not. He's professional and takes his work seriously. If others having access to the media have a problem because they do not think he behaves the way they want him to behave outside of his work thats their problem. After all Lorena states the work was spot-on. Isn't that what counts? We have no clue what the dynamics of their relationship was, nor his or her motives in that relationship and to speculate such criticism upon Mario is extremely unfair. I'm obviously a huge fan and I will stay there until Mario disappoints me with his work. I enjoy reading the discussions here but the tone towards Mario has taken a drastic u-turn in my opinion and makes me rather sad. Again this is just my opinon.
 

Anonymous, thanks for speaking up. I was just offering a translation of a radio interview that happened to be critical of Mario. If this was a Mario Cimarro "fan forum" I certainly would have considered it inappropriate to post, but I didn't think it taboo for this environment.

I'm sorry if the editorial comments at the end of my post offended you; it certainly wasn't my intention. I have a tendency to play the devil's advocate, so if my personal cynicism was distasteful to you, I regret that it caused you anxiety. While I may post comments in the future that again present a contrary point of view, I'll keep in mind you admonition regarding unfair speculation and try to present a balanced assessment.
