Ah, the infamous rain scene. Well, Isabel sure seems to be having her cake and eating it too. Or at least she would be if she actually slept with Andres as well. I never understood her motivation for willing to marry him, if she didn't want to.
 

WOWee wow. There's singing in the raining...there's walking in the rain, and then there's what PJ/S and Isabel were doing in the rain. I missed this episode. In the 2 novelas I've been watching, all the galans do in the rain is stand outside their trueloves' houses and pine....sometimes they make their horses stand out in the rain with them while they are sulking, but that's about all they do in the rain. Maybe it's time to change venues and concentrate on this novela and leave the rainy sulking behind.

That was a pretty good scene, and I’m surprised they showed it all, considering they cut out one of Juan and Norma’s love scenes, grrr. It couldn’t have been any steamier than THAT! I’d still rather see Mario and Danna, but for this storyline, the scene worked very well.

Wouldn’t it be funny if characters didn’t have to be so secretive? Then the scene where Isabel comes stumbling in all wet could be something like:

Vicki: Isabel, where have you been?
Isabel: Having wild sex in the mud with the chauffeur.
Vicki: That’s nice. Would you like some tea?

I thought it was kind of a weird how Angela and Antonio reacted when they heard the news about the lawyer. If our lawyer died, we sure wouldn’t rush to the accident scene or go to his funeral. We’d be lucky to read about it in the paper.

In my never-ending quest to find a real life friend to share Mario moments with, I showed a woman visitor some clips from LT, PdG and Cuerpo today, along with pictures from my little scrapbook and explained the basic storylines. No response at all to Mario. No swooning, no drool, no “Oh my GOSH!” Tall, dark and handsome just doesn’t do it for her, she said. I told her she was nuts and to get out of my house! Haha, not really. Oh well, I know we all have different tastes. (But STILL!) She is very sweet but quite straight-laced and religious, so I didn’t even TRY to show her the mud sex or licking scenes, lol. She did think Danna is beautiful, though. It would be hard not to! Another friend already saw my scrapbook last month and liked it, but we didn’t have time to view DVD’s. She said she wanted to do that when she visits again later this month. I will give you a full report then.
 

So apparently Face-Licking leads to stronger stuff, namely Muddy Rainy Sex. I just knew it was a force for evil! ;-)

Seriously though; these are two incredibly hot, but whenever I’ve watched this scene all I feel is cold & clammy, with the sensation of water in my eyes & nose and the taste of dirt & twigs in my mouth. (Ptooey!) :-p He couldn’t have just dragged her (by the hair, naturally) to an unoccupied corner of the mansion or even a nice dry car? Take this scene, but put them on the other side of a big old picture window in a log cabin, all warm & toasty from a big old bed by a crackling fire, WATCHING the mud & rain, and then I’ll feel a little heat. Now THAT’S my idea of communing with Nature. ;-)

Cc, I’m a little confused by your comment. Isabel has been sleeping with Andrés all over the place, in spite of the fact that she’s been ambivalent about him for some time. She was very much in love with him at one point; she only agreed to marry Pedro Jose in the first place because he asked her to. There’s a great scene coming up in the not-too distant future (I think) where she shows a lot of vulnerability as she talks about their history and where she currently is emotionally. However, that conversation plus the spite-filled little love/hate ’dance’ she has going with Salvador forces her hand & her crumbles her resolve to follow her heart/passion/craving for Muddy Rainy Sex with the chauffeur with the freakishly long (and equally sexy) torso. ;-)

Speaking of that torso, it did come off looking fabulous in the rain scene. With those huge shoulders that fan out from that long, narrow waist, PJ/S reminds me of a cobra, puffed up & ready to strike. Rather an apt analogy, actually...
 

Marie Celeste, from what I remember of the show, Isabel stops sleeping with Andres once she starts fooling around with Salvador.

Here's something else I just found out. Martin Karpan (Andres) and Zharick Leon (Rosario from PDG) are a couple in real life and have just had a baby.

Once again we have Sal/PJ telling Gaetana he's got Isabela almost lined up right where he wants her and pretty soon he'll have EVERYTHING back under what he perceives was his (as PJ) smooth running control. Gaetana's face reflected it all. I call it her 'poops gonna hit the fan if you keep pushing it' look.
Cindy I have a quest too and I'm starting to collect as much as I can..just got my Managua VHS tape I ordered and Mario was really young and speaking English in it. I think it's 1996? Not a very big part but its fun to see him. What DVD's have you gotten so far? I have the Cuban Connection with no subtitles...boo hoo! But Mario's in a swimsuit so I don't much care about anything before or after that!!lol and of course the authorized novla DVD's..You should be Mario's publicist..either that or the town cryer...lol...(I hope you know I'm teasing ;))
Marie I had to laugh when you mentioned a nice dry car..wooot Mario is over 6 foot and unless he had a minivan handy believe me thats a bad idea...but lets face it a little mud beats helloutta of a sandy beach..oouch..Did anyone notice at one point Sal/PJ stops his tongue pops his eyes and glares at that neckless she's wearing..its pretty cute..and beings I'm thar..haha what in the world kept that bra in place????
Marie I will agree his body is beyond the beyond, but I've loved all of his personas and body (weights)...he has always looked fantastic...in my opinion he just has a wonderful structure to begin with then he sculptures it to fit his mood or role. I like beef on a man.

Oh no I just read a poster,Pilaf at TW stating Telemundo is cutting El Cuerpo down to one hour instead of it's two hour regime!!! Supposedly the first hour will be replaced by another novela...ok gonna be sick now...

Soulcatgirl, I saw that post about Cuerpo being cut back, too. Bad news! First we find out no more English captions, and now this.

As for my Mario collection, I only have the official DVD’s of Pasion de Gavilanes and Cuerpo. I recorded the last months of LT and PdG, and am doing all of Cuerpo now. These are the only works I’ve seen him in. It would be fun to see his earlier stuff. Although, since he would only be in his 20’s, I’d feel weird since I’m enough of a pervert as it is being in love with Juan! I’d still like to watch them, though, just to see his work and how he has progressed. I was considering Rockaway but I know it is violent, and also in my church we really aren’t supposed to watch R-rated movies, not even as adults. Oh well. It is supposed to be pretty good, though—I read some reviews on Amazon. You said he speaks English in Managua—does this mean he is bilingual? I’ve wondered about that but never asked.

I’d be glad to be Mario’s publicist—I’d be good at it, too, since I have a background in journalism and have done publicity work! Mario, are you taking applications???

Oh I would not recommend Managua if that is the case. Nor The Cuban Connection nor Rockaway. All would most likely be too violent for your taste. R rating. Mario is definately bilingual and could possibly speak more than just the two. I'm not sure but I think I heard an mp3 on U-tube that has him conversing with his Italian Juanchas (fans) and it might be in Italian, not sure. He speaks very good English. I had no problem with him in Rockaway at all. Love his voice no matter what he's doing. Every time I've seen him addressing his dog Mambo he speaks English to him...;))
As far as what Mario looks like when he was younger...well its all good. Not too much of a baby face he's always been a doll then as now and he has sported all lengths of hair and again its all good... ;)) Have you seen the older stuff online? If you need direction I can give you links to more...

Thanks for the links! I will save them but unfortunately I don’t have high-speed so I don’t know when I’ll be able to view them. If it is a short clip, five minutes or so, I can click on it, go do my workout, walk around the block a couple of times, cool off, take a shower, get dressed, throw in a load of laundry, have a snack, do dishes, and then MAYBE it will have loaded by then. I’ve used the computers at the library a few times to watch some of La Traicion I missed, but it is so hard to get a terminal. Last time it was a fight to the death. When somebody FINALLY left, I made a beeline for their seat, and then out of nowhere some guy shows up and beat me to it. I felt like crying. I wanted to yell, “What do you have to do that is POSSIBLY more important than watching Hugo and Soledad?!” He wasn’t even gallant and let the lady go before him. It was every man for himself. By that time I was starving and of course you can’t eat at the library, and who knew how long it would be so I left and haven’t been back since. Before that, I managed to view some compilation videos of LT, but still want to see the first three months in their entirety, along with the first weeks of PdG I missed, interviews and tons of other stuff. I keep bugging my husband, but he never uses the computer at home, and getting high-speed so I can gaze at Mario is not at the top of his priority list. The trouble is that our house is not wired up for cable (when we built it 14 years ago, we didn’t want cable TV, and didn’t even know what Internet was). Then we waited years for DSL to be available in our area, and when it finally was, we signed up and then they informed us the phone lines couldn’t support it—something about copper wire. Grr. He says he’s exploring options but so far nothing has come of it, and I’m so computer illiterate I don’t know where to begin. I just want it to work! I have friends with high-speed but no one I feel comfortable enough to invite myself over to camp out at their computer. My newlywed son and his wife have high-speed because their apartment was all wired up for it, but when we visit I can’t spend my time on YouTube! Oh woe is me, so frustrating. Anyway, I HAVE seen pictures of Mario in his 20’s, with short hair, etc. And wow, I can’t IMAGINE him speaking English! That I have to hear! So this means that if we ever met, we’d be able to COMMUNICATE?? But then I’d pass out in his mere presence so it wouldn’t do much good. (I better get over that if I’m going to be his publicity agent!)

I'm with Jean on the ick factor and that it could be worse on the beach. Actually, there was a show called the "Gilmore Girls" in which one of the protagonists decided to replicate "From Here to Eternity" for her first time. She then went back to her friend and was horrified that all her mother's warnings about sex being ugly and unpleasant were true. Her BFF promised her she'd like it better indoors, without sand, and on a comfy bed.

Soulcat, thanks for the different clips with Mario. It's interesting how he's grown and cut his hair. Can't be easy to get the length back when it's so curly. He was soooo skinny on the one with Chantal Andere (I think that one was Acapulco).

Re: next week - actually, Tuesday will only be half hour of Cuerpo (the first one and a half being taken up by "El Rostro de Amalia"). Monday will be the usual 2 hours, and Wed-Fri will be one hour, starting at 1:00 PM EST instead of the usual 12:00. The following week should go back to normal.

Incidentally, for those that watch DB, it will now air at 8:00 EST instead of 9:00. Amalia will take over the 9:00 Pm slot. El Juramento has been moved to just Sundays.
 

Ok I lied,

It looks like the week after next, Cuerpo will still be only one hour, with the noon spot being taken by "Sin Senos no Hay Paraiso," even though it's still airing at 10:00 PM EST.

Guess we'll have to keep an eye on listings.

Also, it looks like only one week left of Frijolito, in case anyone besides me is watching that one. Starting on the 27th, the 2:00 PM EST spot will be taken over by reruns of "Dame Chocolate." This one stars Genesis Rodriguez (Marisela in DB), Carlos Ponce (Just my Luck), Maria Antonieta de las Nives (La Chilidrina in El Chavo), Kristina Lilley (Gaby in PdG), Ricardo Chavez (Justo in El Juramento), Alvaro Ruiz (he's the guy that does the Focus Factor ads and did a couple of early episodes in this one as the sleazy lawyer Gaetana tried to get to help Angela). About 2/3 of the way in, they are joined by Mauricio Ochman (Jeronimo in Victoria and Ignacio in Frijolito). It's not bad, though at times it gets a little hoaky. It has occassional violence, but less so than PdG, and has a nice dose of magic and Mayan mythology mixed with Catholicism and a very funky family tree. Oh yeah, and it's all about Chocolate ;)

Mauricio Ochmann is cute and entertaining, too. I haven't seen this one but might tune in. I will NOT be watching the breast show--I've seen all I want to see on the promos for that!
 

Can't say I blame you for not watching Paraiso Cindybin. I caught about three days of it and it was way too real for my taste. Perhaps if I had a teenage son/daughter who needed a good cautionary tale, but I don't so I won't. No offense to those who watch it. It's very well written, directed, and performed, just not my cup of tea. It occurred to me that they might be airing it during the day so teens can watch it, but in that case it's a little early. I'd say 4:00 Pm (after school time) would be more appropriate for that.

But back to this one - How many people think Andres had the lawyer killed? I don't think Isabel was in on it as she didn't seem to have something like murder on her head when she was dealing with Valeria or with PJ/S. Then again, she forgot about Val pretty quickly, so it' possible she's easily distracted, but it was probably just PJ/S having that effect on her ;) As for Andres, my gut reaction is that he'd tell Isabel what he did - both to get her to see what he's willing to do for her, and to warn her this too can happen to her if she tries to double cross him - but he denied any involvement. Still, a random shooting seems a little too much coincidence IMHO.
 

Margarita, I don't think it was random at all...Andre is a mean little rat and there's no one better to suspect than him.
