El Cuerpo del Deseo, Tues, Sept. 30 - PJ/S burns his last bridges in Las Cruces; Antonio and Ángela get together

I missed the first hour and half of yesterday's episode because that was when my cable company decided to change the channel that Telemundo is broadcast on.

PJ/S uses his brain to defuse a boundry dispute. He tells his illiterate neighbors that the random piece of paper he managed to find in the house is the deed to his property, registered with the notary in the pueblo. His neighbors don't have anything like that of course, and they back down. Nobody likes a smarty pants though.

Cantalicia is afraid of PJ/S and won't let him sleep inside. (There always seems to be a full moon)

Ángela and Antonia surrender to their passion in the attic.

PJ/S confronts Cantalícia about why she is avoiding him and she tells him (using the formal 'usted') that she doesn't know who he is and she is afraid of him.

So now PJ/Santos has alienated everybody in Las Cruces and it's time for him to go back to Río Claro.

Sorry you missed the first half hour, Jean. I noticed the official DVD set left out the big fight scene Salvador had with the crazy neighbor, as well as his conversations with Cantalicia about cleanliness, etc. However, there was a scene on the DVD which wasn’t aired on TV Monday, where Salvador was actually trying to sleep next to Cantalicia and was refusing her advances, and then he got bit by a flea, said he refused to sleep in such conditions and got up to find somewhere else to sleep. Cantalicia said something about how he never complained about the fleas before. The next scene was where he was sleeping on the floor.

How convenient that there is a comfy bed thingie in Angela’s attic!

Thanks also Jean for the latest LT recap—-I loved it as always! Last week I picked up one of my LT tapes at random and started watching, it happened to be where Hugo rushed to save Aurora from her catalepsy attack at Dr. Dan’s office. Soledad had tears streaming down her face and I had tears streaming down my face...sigh. What a show. I have also watched parts of PdG since it ended—-I miss that one, too.

I'm still baffled at this point that NO one - doctor, priest, specialists, Lilia, nurse - has bothered to look into WHO Pedro Jose Donoso is/was. Also, if PJ/S is as smart as he's supposed to be, why did he not realize until today that the more he keeps insisting that "this isn't my body", the further away he's going to be from getting his freedom? (Yes, PJ, when you look in the mirror, something is wrong. Just agree with the nice people so they let you go, then go figure it out later. ¡Caray, Caray!)

Anybody else notice that Cantalicia wears clothes in her love scenes with Salvador yet seems to sleep in the nude all other times? It cracked me up watching PJ/S's face as he was trying to fend off her advances. I have to say, though, that there have been some very lovely closeups this week... ;-)

Angela hits a new fashion low with the goofy green "barrel" miniskirt. ¡Caray! again. She's also picked up another award, Worst Kisser, which she'll share with Antonio (for the time being). ¡Santa Cachucha! they're painful to watch...

Jean, your "PJ/Santos" reference at the end of your post made me smile. I don't doubt that it must be tough keeping everything straight! I'll check back tonight & if you missed anything else noteworthy, I'll let you know.

Cindy: I've dipped back into LT now & then, but the quality of those videos is pretty poor so I don't watch them a lot. But I still watch PDG every day. ;-)

I may be wrong, Jean, but I think you missed the entire lead up to & release of PJ/S from the church.

The townspeople were pressuring Padre to let PJ/S, the "messenger from God", go. While Padre talks to them during Mass, PJ/S decides to play the rectory piano, which draws everyone from the church & gets them even more worked up. Padre stashes him inside to protect him from the adoring throng. There's a cute exchange between PJ/S & Padre where Padre, now sympathetic, accepts that he's not dealing with Salvador but someone else. He freaks & PJ/S basically has to talk him down. During all this, the Specialists arrive. (Finally!)

After examining him - PJ/S being less than cooperative & managing to come off like he's nuts - they declare him schizoprenic & order Dr. Valencia to send him to a sanatorium. Just before this happens, PJ/S remembers Gaetana telling him something about spiritual forces we don't recognize or accept in our lives, and he realizes he needs to wise up & play along to avoid the nut house. When the doctor comes for him, he gives a spiel about he knows he's poor farmer Salvador Cerinza, and all he wants to do is go home to his wife & son, so they take him home.

Once home, PJ/S diplomatically tries to co-exist with Cantalicia, but being a woman, she wants her man & tries to seduce him one night as they lie sleeping next to each other. He eventually shoots out of bed to get away from her & the fleas, and goes to sleep in a shed/barn. (His face during her whole seduction was hysterical; very obvious discomfort.)

Cindy mentioned a scene about him pointing out that she needs to take better care of Moncho (bathing with soap and clean clothes every day), and he picks Moncho up & carries him out to show him how to bathe himself. The neighbor dispute you know about. And I think that's pretty much the gist till now. Oh, Simon apparently has started dating a woman from the factory; a pretty dark-haired thing named Consuelo. She has him over one night & as they're in bed together, a child in the other room keeps crying. She tells Simon she's watching the baby for someone else, but there's undoubtedly more to this story...

Thanks Marie Celeste and Cindy: I saw part of what you described, Marie Celeste but not how PJ/S ended up at the rancho. He finally got smart but I guess we could cut him some slack for being pretty confused about what happened to him.

I thought we had seen the last of the Las Cruces gang but there they were yesterday in one final spasm of idiocy before PJ/S finally leaves town. After saying that she is afraid of him and that he isn't 'her Salvador' is Cantalicia so hell bent on finding him?

I thought PJ/S understood that PJ is dead but he seemed surprised when Gaetana told him that. Some psychic Gaetana is. She can't recognize PJ in Salvador's body.

Honestly, I don't find the goings on the big house too interesting. Simón has gotten involved with a married woman from the factory. Isabel is still mooning on about what a great guy PJ was while shacking up with Andrés - yawn. Time for PJ/S to shake things up.
