Thanks for the great recap Dipity. I got up this morning to watch it before work and it did not record! I hate it when that happens. How frustrating. I would love to see Paula kick Pimp Daddy in the shin. How funny. Do we trust Bobo or not? I'm still on the fence about that one.
 

Why is what MJ (nearly) held back, any worse than ALL the stuff Alex is currently holding back from her? I know she made a promise, but how can he demand that of her if he's not doing it himself? He only gave her a tidbit last night to put the Meche issue in its larger context. Once she knew that she was quite willing to give up the info.

On a positive note, I think this argument between them showed progress. They both fell into old patterns for a moment- explosive anger on his part, and stubborn resistance on her part. But they both took it down a couple of notches and got to a place where they could actually communicate. Good job kids! :)

I think I had a real Spanish shut-down last night, had a hard time understanding last night, even with subtitles.

Did a bird fly into Lisete's head?

I think the actress playing Katia wears no makeup in order to look young.

Finally MJ does what she promises & fesses up to Alex.

I'm now a little worried about Hernán, since he can attest to Antonio being of sound mind. And Bruno now seems to be in a murderous mood.

Raquel tells her mother she is getting a divorce. And I think everything reverts to Victoria's past (transgressions) which is the current word for congressing.

I'm sure someone will save Meche & Gabriel, could it be our hero or is it to soon in the series?

How many of you can blow on your toenails? Better get back to yoga.
 

Can anyone reach their toenails? :P I have that problem too with not understanding some nights. I think it is when I'm really tired or my head hurts. It's almost like I've never heard Spanish before. I'm glad it's not just me!

Thanks for the breezy recap Dipipty! Sometimes I get stuck on a scene, I forget what else happened in the episode.
The scene I got stuck on last night was the Alex-MJ argument. Sorry for the rant that follows! Why oh why, couldn't MJ just tell him the truth? No, he had to drag it out of her and she then said she & her dad thought he might do something "cruel" with the info. Thank goodness, Alex finally exploded and asked when had he done something cruel to them and proceeded to list all the times he's saved their buts, incl. MJ's coverup of Bruno's attempt to kill him, saving Don Pedro from the thugs and paying off his debts, saving Paula from jail and paying for the medical expenses of her "victim", etc.. couldn't believe MJ had the gall to tell him, he didn't have to throw all that in her face!! And then Alex apologizes for yelling. YIKES... at least the scene ended with Mj finally giving up Don Pedro's address so Alex can go talk to him and get more info to finally get to link Bruno to a crime. And what was that at the beginning of the argument where MJ said they weren't really married and Alex had to remind her that since neither had contested the marriage in the given time period, it was legal. Why'd she bring it up now????

Oh well, based on the previews for tonight's episode, doesn't look like the fight had a permanent effect since it looks like a horizontal kissing session tonight!!

Vivi, I actually am okay with Alex hiding things from MJ right now while she's injured and pregnant. I think he doesn't want to worry her, and I'm sure he'll tell her as soon as her sling disappears.

I thought the arguement scene between Alex and MJ was great. Alex screamed about how he helped MJ's family all the past times, MJ shot back that she didn't need to hear all the favors he's done, and though they both were boiling with anger, Alex said sorry for screaming, and MJ told him thr truth. Alex, good job with calming down quickly. MJ, good job with actually telling the truth.

She didn't say that she thought he would do something cruel, she said her dad and Chucho did. And by that they meant turning in Meche and her brother as accomplices to Bruno, which is exactly what he meant to do until he spoke to Chucho and Pedro and understood the desperate situation of Meche and her brother more. It's what MJ said to him and it's what he acknowledged after he spoke to Pedro and Chucho.

Plus, MJ's even said to her dad herself that Alex would protect him and Chucho. I know she nearly fell back into her silly go it alone pattern, but let's give her some credit. And I give Alex LOTS of credit for keeping his cool with her.

Once again I ask, when is Alex going to tell her everything that's been going on?

Vivi in DC thanks for the clarification. I replayed the scene on youtube and you're right, MJ did say that it was her DAD that thought Alex would do something cruel. On first viewing last night, I thought she said she was afraid he'd do something cruel. Your clarification, slightly diminished my anger at MJ during the argument, even though I still think she should have spilled the truth to Alex right away instead of him forcing it out of her! Also, am still puzzled why she raised the "we're not really married" issue at this stage.

Cubsfan, I guess it was just her saying "I don't have to tell you everything." but ITA, I didn't think it fit into this conversation. Before, it would've been effective because she was constantly trying to get away from Alex, but now she wants to stay with him, and saying they're not married doesn't mean much.

I loved how MJ finally told her inept daddy about always causing her problems. What she should have told hi m is no way am i protecting Meche and Gabriel.

I just reconciled with my husband and you want me to protect two strangers over my sister? I agree with Paula's tantrum about it too.

Pedro is just a total mess.I think Roberto is pumping Paula for info to try to get leverage against Bruno. Roberto did not seem to happy about Bruno's threats of blackmail and cutting him out of the inheritance.
 

I think Roberto is going to come out and help in some way. But like everyone has said you never know with him. He obviously hates Raquel.
 

Thanks Connie, Yes it was good to see Paula give it to Erick. I had to watch it several times. :) I was afraid she might be giving him too much info. I don't think I trust Roberto... I wonder if she will test him?

Vivi - I was totally shocked when MJ gave up her information, so it was good to see their growth.

Variopinta - I had a hard time last night with my spanish. Maybe it was a lot of fast conversations... I have to laugh, when I saw Paula blowing on her toes, I had to see how close I could get my foot to my face... close .. I was surprised. "Happy Baby" pose has helped me with that. I remember before starting yoga I could not touch my toes.

Doris - Good luck with your "bulldozing". I agree with Katia's age. How old is she in real life?

CubsFan - Thank you for going further with Ale's and MJ's argument. MJ just needs to trust Ale. He has proven himself over and over. I did not see previews so I will be looking forward to the horizontal.:)

I feel so bad for MJ because her DAD continuously brings problems to her and asks her to LIE to her husband about it. LYING to her husband is what got them all kicked out of the house in the first place.

MJ told Alex she vaguely remembers another little girl. Sandra must be coming on soon.

Thanks, Serendipity. I was tired last night after a looooong day at work. The weather here has been gray and drippy which also makes me feel tired. It's dark by 5.00 , so I always think it's later than it is. So , I crawled into bed at 9.00 to watch Sorti. Al really is a saint, verdad ? I guess MJ has realized that she needs him now that she is pregnant. My hub was always helpful with my parents as they aged and needed more help, and he is always there for our daughters and me. This is a sign of a good guy. Now, I think that he will help Meche and Gab...if Eric doesn't kill them. Al has been muy gracious about rescuing MJ's high maintenance papa and sis. The actress playing Paula is really running with this character. Watching her blowing on her toenails, kicking Eric in the shins [I used to do that to mi novio in 6th grade], and eating MJ's breakfast gave me a hoot. She's certainly made the character of Paula interesting. Roberto o o is amoral, but I think that he eventually is going to help the good guys if only to protect his own lifestyle.
 

If you think polishing your toenails is tough, try putting a set of pink and white acrylics on there! I can do it but it takes a while.
 

dpd Thanks for the recap. You did a great job on a hard to understand episode. I too had a terrible time with the Spanish last night. I can understand Nombre del Amor, the program before Sorti very well with no problems...a little discouraging. (On Nombre, is that little heifer pregnant or not?)

MJ reminds me of teenagers, it is all about asking the right questions. They are never going to just volunteer information, you have to be a detective and get the right information so you can ask the right questions. If Alex hadn’t known about Pedro, I wonder if MJ would have fessed up, but never mind...they seem to have kicked their bad fighting habit and resolved the problem peacefully. Did you notice how relieved she looked in the next scene talking with Paula, Alex was handling everything for her.

For me though, the “we’re not married” was hitting below the belt, she voluntarily returned with him and is living in his house. We all have to work on the way we handle “arguments” with the people we love, she needs to leave that comment off the next time!!

Funny, that gun was bigger than Erik!

Doris, will you bring your bulldozer over here? I have a lot of cleaning that needs to be done!!! Whew.......
 

Thanks again for the recap. so tired I missed a lot of the episode last night drifting off. But I did get to see Paula's swift kick to Erik's shin. With those hard, high wedges she wears, lord that had to hurt. Cracked me up. The look on Roberto's face seems to be that he is starting to put a lot of pieces together and with the way he's being treated by the twins, he may be realizing he's on the losing side. Plus I think he admires Paula's "spunk".
As her told her, he can identify with how she feels at the thought of giving up the good life. He's not a dumb loser ( can we all say Useless?), and I think I remember somewhere it was mentioned he has a college degree. But he fell into the lazy lifestyle with raquel and got use to it. I still think he may be someone that will be on the good side soon and be the character redeemed at the end of it all. flawed, but better.
 

Yes Sandy, I did notice how releived she seemed in that next scene. I think she's well on her way to kicking the old bad habits. She also noted to Paula that she wants them to have a good marriage, without all the fights, and she seemed committed to doing just that. And it seems that she will do her best to make it up to Alex tonight... :) I'm sure he will be pleased.

I think Roberto is more good than bad, but of course he's looking out for his own interests. He wanted to find out if Paula knew Bruno just to confirm that Bruno faked the marriage, and this knowledge could help down the line, if Bruno tries to cut out Raquel and Roberto.

At the end, with Erik holding the gun, I'm pretty sure he said you two have to leave town and disappear, or ELSE I'll have to kill you. Bruno wanted him to kill them, but he's giving them the chance to disappear so he can tell Bruno they weren't there. Erik is not nearly as bad as Bruno. He often means well, but he's stuck having to do the dirty work for his dirty double dealing dog of a boss.
 

I have to admit that Erik and Bruno have terrible taste in shirts.

At first i didn't like the way Ezeke greeted Pedro when he showed up looking for MJ. After this fool told MJ to make up a lie to tell Alex to protect Meche and Gabriel.


I am done with Pedro. Alex is right how many times has he bailed out MJ's family. Chucho first loyalty should have been to Alex.
What they don't know is the info they are trying to keep from Alex proves Paula did not run anyone over.

Bruno is behind it and it's possible information that could get Bruno arrested.Now Pimp Daddy E is threatening Meche and Gabriel with a gun.

She may not know Ale also agreed to divorce her for B's blood. If that's the case, MJ's statement that they're not really married tells me that if Bruno pushes Ale to 'divorce' her, she won't be devastated. AAayyy,,,, too many facts in this one. FELS was so easy to follow (snerkkkkk) Juan lines, Sofi lines, etc.

Nope, Doris, she doesn't know any of it. She doesn't know about the blood promises of the presidency and the divorce. She doesn't know Alex and Nando are trying to find the judge that married her to Bruno and are getting close. She doesn't know about all the Vicky/evil twins/DNA/contesting the will drama. She doesn't know that Alex is trying to find ways to keep Bruno from being able to change their father's will (hence looking for any dirt on him like the Meche thing). If the Meche plot had something to do with the trying to kill Alex plot, then I think she would have easily fessed up. From her point of view, without knowledge of all this other stuff, it seemed like a less than life and death matter. She doesn't know what all is at stake and Alex needs to get her out of the dark asap. Although I understand his wanting to wait until she is well, and not wanting her under too much stress while she is pregnant with his child motivation.

Susanlynn - You are describing the weather where I am at. I am not used to all these gray wet days. I think MJ also wants to be with Ale, not just need. I have to admit I have a pretty decent hubby... Though I am still waiting in my lifetime to have rose petals strewn from the front door to the bed..... :)

Yes, the "we're not really married" line was annoying and out of left field. But she didn't say it with much conviction this time- just threw it out there to annoy him. I know plenty of people guilty of that during arguments with people they love. Knowing exactly what things will push their hot buttons. Luckilly, Alex didn't take the bait. I think she very much wants to stay married to him, just like she told Paula.

But, I would feel a bit cheated too if I were her. I would WANT to stand up in front of friends and family to marry the man I love, for realzies (unlike with Bruno). It would seem kind of unreal/weird if one day you met this person and you just started telling people you were married. No?

I love El Smurf! LOL! I used to like him, but not anymore, he's such a pain in the butt.

Always enjoy the Felipa/cuco scenes as comic relief. I was glad Vick agreed to see Fer, maybe her fantasy caught up with her. And all the truth telling between Alex, MJ, Smurf and Chucho was good.

And, Sandy...Great catch on the size of Erick. He is really tiny isn't he? Some of you have said he has been a witch doctor in previous telenovelas, I can almost see that. DH and I think that he reminds us of a young Carlos Casteneda. Carlos was short, too, my sister thought he looked like a garden gnome.

If they ever decide to make an Erick garden gnome, do you think we could get the sculptor to button up his shirt? Wink and smile...

Carloca would run circles around Bruto. So far her kill count is 3 (that we know of) and she's succeeded at all kinds of other mischief. His kill count is only 1, and that was accidental (the guy Alex was driving). And none of his other schemes have panned out so far either. He’s just manage to annoy the crap out of Alex, MJ, Paula, Pedro, Vicky..well, just about everyone.

Ivy, Meche had beg Chucho when he found out they we're the ones who said Paula ran over Gabriel.Chucho feeling sorry for them kept his mouth shut instead of telling Alex the truth.

He is a little in trouble with Alex because i think Alex had expected Chucho to be a little more loyal towards him.

Even though Chucho saved Alex from the car crash, Alex has paid and help Chucho anytime he needed it.

Chucho and MJ should have told what they knew. I'm not including papa smurf because he's useless.

dpd, I do think Erik was using the gun just to get his point across. We'll probably find out tonight.

Once again, Erik is Bruno's Achilles Heel. He was told to kill, but didn't. He also messed up the killing of Alex at the start, and wimped out on the accident by using family members who didn't give strong enough testimony to keep Paula in jail. His small amount of decency is just enough to doom some of Bruno's plans. Bruno's not fully aware of this. If he does find out, Erik may be in trouble.

I have a tiny suspicion that if Victoria does eventually choose Fernando over Hernan, Hernan could get mad, and not testify that Antonio was in his right mind. I know, he's such a noble character. But you know what happens with scorned lovers.

By the way, I think Bruno's strategy of finding people that Antonio treated badly in business, to testify that he was not of sound mind when he made the will, could actually work. The only thing that could really stop him is if his own deeds are finally revealed.
 

And if Victoria goes with Hernan, that could backfire, too, because Bruno's attorneys would say that Hernan is biased toward Vicky, and his testimony might not be persuasive.
 

Yep Cielo, the fake marriage was civil so the church wedding will be for real & seal the relationship.

Roberto told Paula he came from a good family, of course Raquel wouldn't have married him
otherwise.

I feel sure Roberto is going to be a good guy. He doesn't commit, just listens, tries to wheedle info & will probably be the 1st to put ALL the pieces together.

Paula s/b furious, her own dad & MJ were going to let her go on with the guilt of running someone down. Plus being on her record. Do I understand that correctly?

Bruno has only one friend, Katia. I guess she never heard the saying, "blood is thicker than water", wonder what that is in español?
 

Variopinta- Paula found out at the same time MJ did about the Meche/Gabriel scheme, so no, neither of them (MJ nor Pedro) were going to leave the guilt on her conscience. But they are prepared to let it stay on her record. Not sure how serious those kind of driving record incidents are in Mexico, given she wasn't convicted of a crime. But it does seem that Meche and Gabe would be in pretty bad trouble if they were turned in for falsifying such a claim. At least that's the way they are making it seem. I think the problem now is to: 1) somehow absolve Paula; 2) Keep Meche and Gabe from getting in trouble with the law; 3) Keep Meche and Gabe from getting hurt by Bruno (too late?); and 4) get Bruno in trouble to the whole thing. Even Alex doesn't seem to be sure how they accomplish all that.

Variopinta, I think Roberto will be good too. Someone said he was amoral, and I think that's pretty accurate. But the way he is with Paula and his understanding of what his life will be if Bruno is president, I think hint towards him moving to the good side. He also was never part of any evil scheme, though he was aware of the Mario Aguirre thing and all.

Hubby tells me it is bright and sunny at home in Utah. Cold though. It was 17 degrees when I talked with him earlier.

I would like to know why Bruno thinks he could run a sucessful business? When he still had the title of VP he made bad decisions and took vacations all the time. You would think he would know it would all go downhill without Ale...

Erik the Garden Gnome – Love that new name. I can see him doing Travelocity commercials. Seeing Paula kick him in the shins was funny. She's a lot like Raquel with her shrewish shrieking, but she's good-hearted and redeemable.

Cielo de Levy – MJ and Ale can’t talk about or get married or else the ‘novela would have to end.

OK girls, if we are going to LIKE Roberto, and I kinda do, what about the "spousal rape" scene. Should we just toss it out as a difference of "viewpoints" between Mexico and the US? Just thinking out loud here!!! I know what everyone is thinking, he has a cute sophisticated, sarcastic, intellligent and yet very sweet smile. It is his demeanor that is attractive more than anything.
 

ROFL, Sandy! I've been trying to make something about that rape scene ever since it happened. Damn, I really didn't want to like him after that, but I still do. I have no idea what to make of the rape, but for now, I think I've pushed it aside.
 

The spousal rape scene was the end of Berto for me ... too bad because I had high hopes for him. In real life, his underlying violence could erupt at any time. Perhaps he will be one of those characters that dies sacrificing himself for the good in the end.
 

Cielo, there is something about his personality, some undefinable quality, that makes him attractive. The writers weren't thinking about the US audiences when they put that scene in though! The devil (writers) made him do it!!!
 

I like Anonymous' idea that Bobo will die sacrificing himself for Paula? or somebody else in the end.

I am attracted to and charmed by Roberto but I still see him as a sociopathic parasite. I can't forget the rape scene. How do you redeem someone who will resort to sexual violence when thwarted? I think Anon has it right—kill him off while he is in the midst of doing a self-less good deed.

IMO that wasn't rape, a little strong arm maybe, but Raquel couldn't have been happier with the results. These 2 just shouldn't be together. And Roberto seems respectful with other females.

I broke down & BOUGHT a copy of TV & Novelas. The worst dressed list has Eduardo Yáñez as #1, in a black suit with wavy zebra like pinstripes with white satin tie, & white satin shirt opened at the neck. Get into your pirate garb big Ed.

#8 is Adela Noriega in a bright pink ruffeled pesadilla with breast pockets & a matching pink thingie in her hair ¡Qué feo!

If you are standing in line at the grocery store, flip to page (WHAT, no page #'s) well it's after page 67. There is also a story & pictures of Ana Brenda, she is muy hermosa.
 

I think Roberto is a mistake as a character. Many of the Sorti characters are exaggerated but seem real to me and many others that have posted here. The way they are defining Roberto is the "lovable" rapist.....I don't think so. Miss Carla has created a problem, and she is going to have to THINK of someway to finish the Roberto character in a way that adjusts for all the sympathetic/disgusting scenes he has been in....we'll just have to wait to see what she has in mind....it better be good.
 

Rape, no rape. Whatever happened there was physical violence toward another human being .. not justified in any way in my book.

Bobo and the rape - While it was violent and I detest violence/abuse etc, I still don't know what to make of Robert. I don't want him to die and he should have to pay for his crime (though his "victim" "enjoyed it"). I don't know where to go with this but its fun to listen to others.

I really wish novela would NOT use rape and don't understand why it is so prevalent. If someone can explain it to me I would appreciate it.
 

Elna~I am in northeastern PA. We've had a lot of wet, gray , drippy weather lately. It really dampens my spirits. It makes me want to stay curled up inside with a cuppa hot tea and a good read. I like the sunshine..even if it's cold. Where are you?
 

Interesting differences about the "rape" scene. I found it surprising, but it also seemed like Raquel enjoyed it, maybe more than he did. We don't know what their prior relationship has been and I thought maybe there was an understanding about it, like maybe it wasn't just violence out of the blue. If that wasn't the case I would find it more disurbing, but still unsure what to think about it. I still kind of like him but he's totally an enigma right now.
 

Marcelo Cordoba has been my telenovio since I first laid eyes on him as the sweet, loyal Marcos who guarded Luis unfailingly , was protective and helpful to young and old alike, and took Luis's inconvenient former mistress Perla off his hands in the end of Alborada. Even when he plays a villain, there is something about that sweet altar boy face that I love. That scene was disturbing. He clearly ..even with that odd soul patch. He clearly abhors Raq, but there seems to be some kind of S&M thing between them because she looked victorious after the dust settled . Que the hell ?

I am in Northern California, in Sonoma County, an area along the Pacific that mostly consists of agricultural land (dairies and vineyards) and smallish towns.

My home is on a hill, about 6 miles as the crow flies from the ocean, about 1000 feet above sea level. On clear days I can see the Pacific but on days like today I can't see my gray cat in the driveway for the thick fog. Some folks think it looks a bit like Wales here...Very rural.

Elna june, I couldn't be much farther away, I'm in south FL on a river 3 miles from the Atlantic. It's dark now, but was a sunny day with temps in the 70's & 80's.

I love geography too, sth they don't seem to be teaching in school these days. Just watch Jay Leno.
 

Elna~~Ahhh..wine and milk country. It sounds like a place I'd like to visit some day. I've never been to California, but I'd also love to tour the Napa Valley and drive the Pacific Coast highway . I am also in a rural area. I grew up on a farm and built a house on the land. However, the area is rapidly developing. My sister and I just put the farm into farm preservation so that it can't be developed as many local farms are now housing developments. [We are two hours from NYC, even closer to Philly, and three hours from Washington DC so people can commute to those big cities.] ] Most of the farmers around here grew potatoes, sweet corn, field corn, hay, etc. [as did my dad.] Now you see a lot of soybeans and corn..not so many potato fields anymore.

elnajunesonoma - I've been where you live! Several years ago, DH had a business related seminar at the Silverado and I went with him. It was in Feb. or March and I *** never *** could get warm now matter how much I ran the heat in our unit/condo/whatever the heck they call those things there. Cold and damp, just like up in the mtns. I didn't care much for the Silverado, either, but that's another story. Their golf course was nice, though.

Oh my goodness I just saw useless and robert get out of bed, I've already seen it but it still is a shock! Useless is alot of things but there are times when he's really cute, what a waste. Then rachel comes in and he looks like he's completely feed up with her. I would be too. Mj needs to let her papa be on his own, still be supportive but let loose alittle.
Paula is cute but she's a real brat! I liked last night episode.
Also it's suppose to snow in Houton! We will see!

Please help! I am a little lost with this novela because I keep missing episodes and and there are so many twists and turns and lies going on. I am glad I found this website so hopefully I can unconfuse myself. I understand now that Gabriel was already injured and Erik/Bruno asked them to pretend that the were hit by paula, but how did Gabriel hurt himself in the first place?
 

Vaboricua- Welcome! Gabriel actually was the victim of a hit and run. But it happened some days/weeks before the supposed Paula hit and run. From what I can remember, he was hit by a truck or some such.
