Sortilegio 2/12/10: Prince Charming Asks for a Happily Ever After or, Finally A Boda Without Bruno

Capítulo 92

As Viewerville readies itself for another mawkish jaunt through maudlin Mérida, Mary Jo and Alex are talking a tearful Paula into secretly taking a DNA test with Mary Jo to prove once and for all whether she and MJ are both true Samaniego's or not. This is the only way they can disprove their mother's claim that Sandra and MJ were not Pedro's and avoid any further emotional blackmail from Elena, which would force Mary Jo to share Porfirio's inheritance with Jorge and Elena as she has threatened hurting and shaming Pedro by telling him his twin daughters were actually Cristobal's. Paula curses her mother and agrees to have the test done.

On another side of the manse, meanwhile, Victoria gets a call on her cell from Fernando asking her to please visit him the next morning. He has a surprise for her. He says he's also a little hurt that she's avoiding him. Vicki makes excuses about her busy schedule, but then reluctantly agrees to make the effort to see him. She quickly hangs up. Poor Nando is still saying his sweet nothings but to a dead line. As he continues to wax romantic, telling Vicki how much he cares for her and doesn't want to lose her, he realizes Vicki has hung up on him. If his tan weren't so dark, Viewerville could see the fifteen shades of red his face turns.

A bit later that evening up in Alex and MJ's bedroom, Alex tells Mary Jo that he's gotten all the paperwork done for their civil wedding ceremony. The blood test is all that remains and they can be married in eight days. She is thrilled. It will be a simple affair. They'll plan the religious wedding afterwards, of course, once things have calmed down. Mary Jo tells Alex she just had a memory about their going to see a priest before to discuss their wedding. He's thrilled that the old MJ is returning! Oh happy day! They hug and cry tears of joy together.

The next morning Vicki visits Fernando. He shows her his surprise: he throws off the cover and then stands up on his own! Oh happy day again! With her help he begins to take a few steps. He tells her that he's going to be the same as he ever was and now she knows that she has no reason to reject him. Vicki is suddenly uncomfortable as Fer pushes the point. She tells him they've had that conversation already. When he's 40 something she'll be 60 something. (The woman has apparently come to her senses and is now ready to sacrifice her lust/love so that he can have a normal life?) He'll still be in his prime, she says, but she'll be essentially drooling and doddering. He insists it doesn't matter to him, but Vicki says it matters to her. She mentions then how well he and his lovely therapist, Irene, get along.

Nando insists Vicki is lovely too, and they've shared some quality time together also; but more than that, they were lovers. He thinks it's just her insecurities and that she shouldn't let those get in the way. Vicki insists that Irene is more properly suited to him [adecuada] and, yes, a better age for him. This is the reality, she tells him, that he is refusing to see. (Was anybody else out there dying for her to tell him that when he grows up and gets to be her age, he'll finally see she was right???) Just then the housekeeper comes to tell them that Irene is there for her session. Nando's frown hits the ground. Vicki says she sincerely hopes he won't give up his much needed therapy sessions. She greets Irene and then gives him a definitive "Adiós."

Irene cheerily tells Fer about the session she's got planned for him (definitely a gal who enjoys her work) and about a rehab center nearby that has a gym with all the equipment he'll need for his sessions. Suddenly she realizes he's depressed and distracted. She asks him what's the matter but he tells her not to worry about it. He has her repeat what she was saying. FF>>

Once Vicki returns home Felipa asks her what happened with Fer. Vicki fights back her tears and says what happened was what had to happen and not to ask her about or mention Fernando to her again. She then has Felipa call Lic. Quiñones. In a shaky voice Vicki tells the attorney to start the proper paperwork because Raquel has agreed to give her legal guardianship of her baby daughter.

Later that day there is a board meeting at Lombardo, Inc. where all the business partners' new and confidential numbers to their company bank accounts are passed out. Everyone is supposed to memorize their number for security reasons and then to destroy their hard copies. MJ is a little nervous since she's unfamiliar with these sorts of things. Alex says not to worry because they'll teach her little by little everything that she needs to know. Vicki assures her it's a good system. Meowra purrs pleasantly and adds that they'll all be sure to be careful with this information. Raqhell chimes in idiotically, obviously forgetting that her twin is there, that "There aren't any thieves at their company." (Viewerville shares a communal snort.)

Wile E. Bruno notices MJ's discomfort with company procedures. He pays a visit to Meowra after the meeting. Meowra says she is done with being a part of his intrigues. Bruno asks if she'd be game if he actually found a way she could avoid getting her hands dirty this time. Her whiskers come to attention and her ears prick up. Bruno starts to explain that his plan has to do with the secret numbers (pin numbers?) in those envelopes they were all given. Rrrreow??

That evening Alex takes Mary Jo out for a romantic dinner to celebrate her beginning to get her memory back. There are long-stemmed red roses lying on the table. Something's up. He tells MJ she has no idea how much he wishes she would remember the first time they made love. MJ smiles and blushes. Alex says it was marvellous for him and that now, after nearly losing her, he recognizes how much he really loves her. She's the woman he'd always imagined he would spend the rest of his life with. Mary Jo smiles and blushes some more as Alex hands her a long-stemmed rose with a huge 3 carat engagement ring hidden in the center of it. He formally asks her to marry him.

Viewerville oohs and ahhs along with MJ. She tells him he didn't need to do this and that she never expected it!! Alex says they were already married when they first met, so they didn't have a chance to enjoy this moment before. All he's ever wanted to do since the first time he saw her was to love her, and uh, he's still waiting for her answer. Mary Jo says of course she will marry him! She wants to with all her heart. (Not that he --or we-- ever really doubted that she would.) Alex looks more than a bit relieved as he moves in for The Kiss that seals the deal.

Across town at another restaurant, Paula and Gabriel are also having dinner together. Gabe, it seems, has been told that he has talent, but needs to improve his technique. So, his newfound patron is sending him to Mexico City to painting school. Paula says go for it. He says he's excited, but on the other hand, he's going to miss seeing her and that makes him sort of sad. Pau sort of matter of factly says they've become good friends and so sure, she'll miss him, too. He adds that there's something else he has to tell her that he never dared to before because he didn't feel he was on her level; and because he knows she likes the good life and such and now that he's going to be selling his pieces he'll be able to kinda, sorta provide for her now. (Yawn.) Pau's eyes go wide as she waits for the rest of it.

Gabe smiles oafishly and hands her some jerky post card that has "Will you be my girlfriend?" scrawled on the back of it. (Oh. My. Gawd.) Pau smiles nervously--but it's really hard to tell why. She is either A) extremely flattered or B) terribly embarrassed at the way this guy comes across. (I vote for "B".) Pau says she'll have to think about it first. He really hopes she'll give him an answer before he leaves in the morning for Mexico City. She doesn't commit. (Uh, Gabe, that should be your first clue she's trying to let you down gently.) He says he would like to leave with the hope that when he comes back home he will be returning for his girlfriend. He wants her to be that girlfriend. (Pau, the pickin's are not that slim. DON'T DO IT! Give him a peck on the cheek and pray daily to the diosito that he finds somebody at school right away and forgets you even exist!) Pau smiles broadly but says nothing.

Mary Jo and Alex return home late from dinner. First they check in at the nursery and ooh and ahh at the babies. Alex says it's such a marvel that the two of them actually made such a perfect little critter as Tony. MJ says their entire love story was destined to succeed, even though neither of them thought it might. Alex says no, he always thought she was out there somewhere and that eventually he would find her. It was like a magic spell or a charm [sortilegio]. "Yes. A love charm." The two kiss. A minute or two later Alex is taking off his shirt for her (and us). Soon after that... well we know what comes after that. 'Nough said..... Mary Jo willingly, though modestly, gives herself over to her one true love again. FF>>

The next morning Gabe says good-bye to Pedro, Chucho and his big sis. (Viewerville notes with great relief that Paula didn't stop by for a last minute farewell hug or smooch.) Chucho is near tears and tells Gabe not to forget them. Meche is bawling like crazy and Gabe reminds her that it's not forever. He gives her an envelope with money to buy some nice clothes and to find a house for the two of them. It's time they moved out now that they are able to, he says. Chucho and Pedro say it's not necessary and that they like things just the way they are. Gabe reminds them that that was the agreement when Pedro first let them stay there, and he'd always promised Meche "a little roof" of her own.

Chucho gives Gabe his blessing and sees him out the door. Pedro and he try to comfort Meche and tell her this is all part of life and that nobody can stop the young ones from flying away. You can only wait and hope that they come back some day, says the grieving Chucho. FF>>

At the same time, Fernando and Irene arrive at the gym for a therapy session. They're going to start in the pool. She sincerely promises to be there to hold him up and to support him...always..... They spend the entire morning together while Fer works on various pieces of equipment and she lends lots of cheerful encouragement. At lunch Irene tells him that he's improving rapidly. Fer wonders why he seems to be her only patient. She tells him he is a special challenge for her, but more than that, she says as she puts her hand meaningfully over his, he is also her favorite patient. Nando is flattery-might-just-get-you-everywhere-since-I-seem-to-be-on-the-rebound impactado.

That night a conscience-stricken Fer makes one last attempt to call Vicki. Vicki refuses to answer. Felipa tells her that whenever a cell phone rings you never know if it might just be the last time. Vicki clicks her cell off and sighs. Her fling is flung.

The next morning Lic. Quiñones is at the manse telling Vicki what he told the judge: that Raqhell had a health problem and that the father of her child died. The judge had no problem whatsoever giving Victoria legal guardianship. Vicki is still worried that the baby won't have a paternal influence in her life. Lic. Q. reminds her that Roberto would and could be that if she allows him to come by and visit from time to time. Vicki smiles and says she's going to call Bobo with the good news. They decide then to register the baby with Raqhell's last name.

At Lombardo, Inc., Bruno is now telling Mau how easy it will be to do what they're planning. It's all a matter of a click on a computer key and wufff! Ready! She really wouldn't be doing anything bad that way. She already has helped Mary Jo before to get her checking account and credit cards set up, he reminds her. All she has to do is go to the bank again with Mary Jo and then memorize the account number from MJ's open checkbook. Afterwards, Mau will give him the numbers and he'll take care of the rest from there. He'll transfer the company funds from the computer to MJ's account and then erase any trace of the transaction from the system. Simple as pie.

Mau figures that then the partners will think that Mary Jo is trying to embezzle funds from the company and will accuse her of fraud. Alex should become "disenchanted" with Mary Jo at that point. Meowra's still got cold paws and doesn't know if she really wants to help him or not. Bruno tells her it's their last chance to get MJ. "Are you in or not?" Mau nods. She is in. (Viewerville considers the fact that Meowra has used up 8 of her lives already. So, either she hasn't learned a thing from Bruno's legion muck-ups or she's become an adrenaline freak.) Bruno says that now all they have to do is wait for the opportune moment and then strike.

Back in Toluca, Don Emiliano pays Porfi a visit. He's amazed at how well his buddy seems lately. Porfi says that seeing MJ and his great grandson has made all the difference. The one thing that the disagreeable Elena did for him was to tell him that MJ was actually Cristobal's. Don Emi suggests it could just be another one of her long list of lies. Porfi insists the baby looks just like Cristobal did at that age. Emiliano reminds him that all babies look like all sorts of people at that age, but Porfi says it doesn't matter. They're his granddaughter and grandson because that's the way he wants it, period. Even if they were not he'd want them to be, and that's enough for him.

At the Lombardo manse, Alex returns home early and finds Mary Jo in the nursery. He tells her the results of her DNA test. (Duhn-duhn-duhn-duhhhhhn!) Yes, she and Paula are sisters and Pedro is their true father. Mama was lyin' like they thought. Alex calls up Don Emi to let him know about the results also. Emiliano says he'd figured as much and that Elena was lying in order to blackmail MJ so she could get some of the inheritance money out of her daughter. Alex says he and MJ don't know what to do because Porfirio still thinks MJ is his blood relative and that MJ doesn't want to hurt him; but on the other hand, there is the matter of the will and Porfi cannot leave money to a person who doesn't exist.

That night Mary Jo tells Pau the DNA tests proved they were really sisters after all. Pau is thrilled not to have to tell their papi something else that's painful. They giggle and tease each other and then MJ asks Pau how things are going at work. MJ wonders what Pau actually does there. Pau explains that she is in "technical support" and works with failures in the computer system. Mary Jo hasn't a clue what that means, but it sure sounds impressive.

In another part of the house, Alex is having a chat with Vicki about what's still necessary paperwork-wise for the wedding. Lic. Q. is handling all of it, he says and assures her he will have it all completed beforehand. As for the guests, they want only the family there. As for witnesses, they thought to have Fernando and Vicki. Vicki is uncomfortable with that and figures that Fer would be too, so Alex suggests having Dr. Hernan instead. She agrees and he leaves to head upstairs to bed. Vicki stays to read her e-mail. Suddenly there's a new one from Fernando. Vicki weeps as she reads:

"Victoria: We've talked before about your qualms [escrúpulos] over what other people might say, and about the age thing, and all of that, but I thought that you had gotten over it [superar]. Later, after my accident I thought that you didn't want to be tied down to a man who was an invalid. But, I am getting better, I swear. Irene comes every day to take me to the rehab center. I swim and do numerous exercises. I also know that you want me to get involved with a much younger woman, but I cannot. I swear to you that I cannot. If that is truly what you want, then alright. Perhaps I'll find another woman; perhaps I'll marry and might have children. But, you will never stop being the love of my life.
Yours forever,
Fernando"

Vicki breaks down and sobs. (Does this give a whole new twist to the definition of "mama's boy" or what? Woe to the woman who has to compete with frumpy old hags to be sexy.)

The next morning at Mengele Manor, Jorrible Jorge gets after Elena to continue her emotional blackmail of her daughter and forcing MJ into agreeing to share her future inheritance with them. Elena immediately calls the Lombardo manse looking for Mary Jo. "--Well, have you considered our little chat?" Mary Jo says yes, but that she wanted to be sure first before she did anything. She and Paula had DNA tests done and it turned out that in fact they were sisters and that what Mommie Dearest told Don Porfi was a lie. Elena swears it was the truth. (Ok. What as a nurse and assistant to the Son of Mengele don't you get about the results of a DNA test being undeniably accurate?) MJ politely disagrees and says tests don't lie.

Elena tries to fudge it with another fabulous fib that Pau was also Cristobal's daughter. Mary Jo finally gets impatient with her and tells Mama to stop making things up. "--That was not what you told Don Porfi! Even if it were, the only father for us both is and would be Pedro Samaniego!" Elena nervously asks if MJ is going to tell Porfi. MJ says she'd rather not in order not to hurt him, but Alex feels that they might have to anyway. She then cuts the conversation short and says there's no reason to keep talking since she now knows that Mama does nothing but lie all the time. Click!

Elena tells Jorrible the bad news. "MJ and Pau took a DNA test and now know the truth that Pedro is really their father." Jorge looks menacingly off into the distance and says the time has come to make a decision.....

Across the way again at Porfi's place, Don Emi and Porfi are having another chat. Porfi notes that Don Emi is looking worried and distracted these days. Emiliano says he's just worried about him. He doesn't like the idea that his friend should be disillusioned if MJ proves not to be a blood relative. Porfi says the more he's thought about it the more he has realized that blood ties are not that important. What is important is the bond of affection he and MJ share. He knows that Mary Jo loves him and he loves her greatly, too.

Don Emi asks if that means he's has finally written his will. Porfi says he had it done a while ago and just made them all think he hadn't. Don Emi says well, supposing that Porfi put the name of his heir as Sandra Betancourt, who is dead, or Mary Jo Betancourt on it, and that since her real name is Samaniego, that then Mary Jo wouldn't be able to claim whatever he leaves her. Porfi says well, she'll just change her last name. Don Emi suggests there is her family to think about. Her father is just a humble, everyday sort. Money isn't everything for some people. Also, people have feelings. MJ might not like hurting her daddy that way. Anyway, she's already married to a wealthy man who has his own set of sensibilities [carácter]. Porfi could risk losing her affection by asking her to do that.

Porfi thinks it through and decides to give MJ a call. During their conversation he asks when she's coming to visit him. She explains she's had tons to do around there for the civil wedding ceremony which is only a few days away. Porfi gets upset thinking she lied about being married. MJ explains they were married and got divorced but are remarrying now. She says she'll leave that story for another day because it is too long and involved. Porfi chalks it up to their being crazy youngsters. Mary Jo invites him if he thinks he's up to it. He says thanks for thinking of him, but he's not able to travel now. He asks her before they hang up what name she's getting married with. She says she's marrying under her legal name, Samaniego. Porfi makes a mental note.

Meanwhile, Irene keeps coaching Nando. One day they're in the pool together and she dares to kiss him on the lips. He starts to object but she asks him to give himself a chance. They kiss again. (If you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with.--My apologies to Steven Stills.)

Across town, Vicki and Raqhell have a meeting with the judge over guardianship of little Victoria. He agrees to give Vicki legal guardianship due to the ill health of her biological mother. Raqui agrees and says she knows that Vicki will be a better mother than she would be; that Victoria always has been. Mother and daughter make their peace and Vicki promises that Raqui can visit with her baby daughter anytime she wants to. Raqui doesn't look that thrilled with the idea.

A few more days pass. Finally it's Alex and MJ's wedding day. Meowra, LIs, Katia, and Raqui are chatting it up with the rest of the guests. Fer and Irene are an item now. Fer introduces Irene to Lis. Afterwards, gossipy Katia tells Lis that she is sure there is something serious going on--like Fer and Victoria are quits--because Irene doesn't seem to be just his therapist now.

Inside the house in the kitchen, we see the hired help preparing the eats for the party. Felipa, Zeke, Art and the housekeeper gossip about how easy the premade hors d'oeuvres were to get ready. Simple, yes, but not as delicious as the ones Felipa would have made herself, says the housekeeper. (Yawn.) Felipa now has two dogs she's playing with. FF>>

Bruno calls home to tell Vicki that he read in a newspaper that Alex and MJ were getting married at the house today. Vicki says yep, that's right. Bruno says great, but why wasn't he invited? Isn't he considered part of the family any longer? (This is too easy. I won't bother.) Vicki explains that since the last few times he's been anywhere near Alex all they've done is fight and this is one day they wanted to go smoothly. Bruno wonders how they could just kick him to the curb so easily. He understands, he says, but then they've got to realize why he is so bitter towards them when all they've ever done is push him out of the way like that. Click!

As Bruno broods he tears the newspaper he's been reading to shreds and grumbles to himself. "Let them get married! They won't have the pleasure for long."

The time has come. The wedding starts as Alex and Mary Jo walk towards the judge through numerous flowered, metal archways to say their vows. A few hundred or so of their "closest family and friends", mariachi band and singer all cheer them on. The ceremony ends and they sign the book. Vicki and Hernan sign the book. A number of what might be Alex's old girlfriends--or cousins--then also sign as witnesses. (As Viewerville checks the crowd, it's hardput to find a single male guest there other than the judge, Fer, Chucho, Pedro or Dr. Hernan.) Alex and Mary Jo seal the deal with another kiss and then greet their guests with very broad grins. It may not be happily ever after yet, but at least this time it is legit and Bruno--thanks be to the diosito--is nowhere in sight.

Ah Jardinera...you are such a pro. You make it look easy. And the cat descriptions!...I always love 'em. "Her whiskers come to attention and her ears prick up". Too right. Also loved "I vote for B" and Veronica's "her fling is flung".

I'm quite happy to see Fernando with someone his own age. Hope they don't pull another surprise on us. Victoria has some lovely, sexy memories but she's going to be plenty busy raising little Vicky, even with all the household help. Time to put on your big girl pants, mama!

Seldom notice clothes, but thought Maria José's wedding dress was awesome, elegant and flattering. Gets my vote, hands down.

Jardinera:

This was a wonderful, thorough recap—thank you very much. Your first sentence was dead on and totally sums up Sorti for me, "As Viewerville readies itself for another mawkish jaunt through maudlin Mérida"...Consonant, alliterative and snarky—I don't know how you do it. When I grow up I want to be a recapper. Will you kindly give me lessons in how to do it right?

With a big smile and many thanks for your delightful Sorti recaps.

In appreciation,

EJ

Thank you so much Jardinera for such a fine recap. I just watched the show this morning.

Well, finally MJ has a ring on her finger and is in a legit marriage. It's about time! Alex not only looked nervous during the proposal (did he really think there was a chance she'd say no), he also looked really nervous during the love-making scene. Gone was the winky, cocky lethario of the first time they made love. This love making session was more about rediscovering each other- lots of caressing and holding each other.

Did anyone esle see Mini Vicky and Tiny Tony holding hands after Alex gave MJ the test results? So cute!

Judy, I also loved that dress MJ wore to the civil wedding. Very elegant and flattering.

Jardinera, it seemed like I was watching the epi again while reading your recap :-)

Vivi, I agree with you. Love MJ's wedding dress! I wonder how the wedding gown will look like...that's how this show will end, right?!? And yeah, the babies looked really cute holding hands together..made me go oohhh!!!

I thought Fer and Irene looked great together save for her looking milky-white to Fer's oh-so-tanned skin.

Did anyone notice Maura at the wedding twisting her hair as she saw how Alex and MJ really so happy? She deserves it. Maybe her hair will go all kinky as she head to her home-jail cell.

jardinera, grat recap..many thanks. I also am chiming in about loving MJ's civil wedding dress...very elegant and pretty on her.
Also liked tiny Tony and Mini Vicky holding hands ---soo cute.

Will comment more later on, have to check on lunch!!

Excellent recap Jardinera. Somehow, I see Bruno's latest framing MJ scheme blowing up in his face. With Paula now working at the company, she may be able to help MJ out. Just a thought. I knew Fer and Irene would hook up but somehow I don't think it's truly over with him and Vicky. Not with only three more episodes left. I'm glad Alex and MJ were able to make love again. It was a steamy scene yet too short for my liking LOL. Loved the civil ceremony while Maura pouted. Dr. Evil has something menacing planned for Porfirio. I hope he doesn't try to kill him.

Yeah Vivi. I did noticed baby Vicky and baby Tony holding hands. It was adorable.

Betcha, Bruno shows up & puts some life into this wedding party. We have seen a free for all in the coming events, I remember Katia being in the middle of it.

Jardinera you have done another wonderful recap thanks again.

Pirate Bab when has any of Bruno's schemes really worked except for his marrying MJ and paying off the judge and witnesses to get out of town and later on killing the judge who married him and MJ everyone one of his schemes has backfired.

Also is he kidding why wasn't he invited to the wedding? Try you kidnapped MJ try to get her to fall in love with when her memory was erased not to mentioned what you did to her father and sister with your plots.

Trying to kill your half brother for the presidency of the family company and marrying his supposed wife MJ to get the inheritance and control of the family fortune.

Yeah like you should gotten the first invitation by UPS express. How delusional is the wacky idiot?

Maura just does not stop that's why i said she needs to be lock up when a person is that self destructively obsessed about a object of their desire. They need to be locked up, whether it's a mental facility or jail.

In Maura's case it has to be jail because of the crimes she has committed and she won't accede defeat and move on. She is a constant danger to Alex but most importantly to MJ.

What was the movie someone brought up the a couple weeks ago that Beyonce starred in with a obsessed woman stalking her husband?

You should never take a person like Maura lightly, which some of us have commented on that Alex has done. In society a person like her would eventually kill the object of her desire if she couldn't have him for herself.

Jardinera - thank you for the great snarky recap. Viewerville is, indeed, indebted to you. :o) too many great lines to quote, and all so wonderful.

Glad the girls are Pedro’s daughters, or we’d be in for another cry-a-thon. Ugh…Gabe's departure was bad enough. Los lloronas.......

Maura is so obsessed with Alex, that she is capable of driving non-stop, cross-country, for 36 hours while wearing a diaper. Yeesh!

Can't wait to watch the last 30 min. of my recording to see the wedding outfit.

Loved the lovemaking scene this was a repeat of the first time they were together intimately but instead this time they did it standing up.

William just makes my toes curls and i wasn't even on the receiving end like Jackie B. was what a lucky girl. The man was made for scenes like that god bless him.

Hey Sandy i don't know about you but i had a nice adult beverage sitting back and enjoying my Sortilegio on a TGIF evening and we get that scene it doesn't get any better than that.

Doris ROFL i can just picture her doing that i know why some guys wanted her to be redeemed but the clear signs were there about how obsessed she was for Alex.Even if she came cleaned about her involvement she would still have to do some serious time. I don't even the mexico legal system would let her off lightly either.

Thanks for yet another amazing recap Jardinera!

As much as I'd love to see Fer end up with the therapist, with only a few episodes to go, I just don't see it happening. I think he and Vicki will end up together in the end. And I think Paula will end up with Gabe. Don't particularly like either pair, but I don't see them throwing a wrench in at the last minute.

I also loved MJ and Alex's wedding. And I'm looking forward to seeing all the evil people get what's coming to them...

Beautiful job, Jardinera. Reading your recap I remember so vividly all the scenes you captured. I feel as though I am a part of their lives. I would love them to be paired again.

The two little cuties are just adorable. Tiny Tony seems to love his mommy's braid.

MJ looked stunning and he looked so handsome. They looked so truly happy and it all seemed so real.

Did we see Paula at the wedding?? somehow I don't remember seeing her. Did she also sign as a witness??

Ann-NYC

Thanks, Jardinera for a very fantastic recap!

LOL, wow Bruno actually found out about the wedding from the news and not by sneaking around. He's getting dumber or everyone else is getting smarter. He honestly couldn't have been expecting an invite. Honestly...that word sounds so wrong when talking about Bruno.

ITA with you guys, MJ looked really good in her wedding dress. Very sweet ceremony. Jardinera, lol at the witnesses being Alex's ex girl friends.

Ann-NYC -- I think Paula was standing right next to Pedro. And nope, she didn't sign.

I know there are so many over-the-top ridiculous moments here, but Carla Estrada should lengthened Sorti rather than having a very long CS...sigh...

SMC

Thanks, Jardinera. Another excellent episode. And your title!!! Finally a Boda without Bruno. Indeed.

It's totally nuts the way Maura continues to collude with Bruno. Einstein said this. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I thought the lovemaking with MJ and Alex was quite hot! Pretty cute the way they just blocked his trasero with a chair! I was hoping for equipment failure.

I don't like Dr. Mengele's hints about Porfirio. In the first place, like lots of Bruno's plots, it makes no sense. How does offing him get any dinero in his pockets? The complete contempt with which Porfirio regards him rules out his being mentioned in the will. And he already said he had a specific codicil ruling out any funds to Mengele.

Not only is Maura crazy with her obsession, she is also incredibly stupid. For one, how is framing someone for embezzlement keeping your hands clean (yes, it's not planning and facilitating a rape, but...)? And second, she should know by now how Bruno works. He gets someone else to do his dirty work and then he leaves them high and dry when the crap hits the fan, or crawling on the ground and bleeding as she saw him do with Eric. Just dumb, dumb, dumb.

Vivi:

Dumb, dumb, dumb is right. Yesterday I decried my need for a beanie-adjustment tool. As the plots have grown more and more lame later in this novela, mine has gotten a bit worn. Perhaps you need a little Beanie adjustment too? I'll be happy to overnight you my BAT (beanie adjustment tool) so long as you return it in time for CS. Sounds like I will need it back, and soon.

Here's hoping all of you who having been suffering under the dreadful weather are digging or melting out of the ice and snow.

With a big smile,

Novelera- Yes, that bench at the end of that bed has served many purposes in this tn, Alex and MJ have made out on it, and both of them have cried in despair on it, but last night it added a few more uses to its repetoir- as a block for our innocent eyes in viewerville, and as a brace for MJ and Alex as they, uhm...rediscovered each other. ;-)

Here's where Bruno full proof plan will blow up in both of their faces any transaction or for that just looking on certain websites on your computer can be traced even though you may delete it from your history or favorites list.

It's still stored in the computer memory bank, any novice hacker can bring up the record so you can imagine just what a expert can do.

Once again the frick and frack twins plot will blow up in their faces and since we only have three episodes left i expect this last scheme will lead to each of their downfall.

Which i personally can't wait to happen for both of them, really Bruno his plots are just getting dumber and dumber and just absurd.

Thankyou everyone. This was far from the most exciting episodio to have to recap but then again, tying up loose ends and wedding/love-making scenes are great to be able to speed through for a change cuz there's no dialogue to struggle through.

Anywho, I definitely couldn't quibble about MJ's dress style or the color. Exquisite taste on her part. --I even liked the pink bow on Cuko's puffball of a little girlfriend. Dunno where that red thing Hernan had on came from, but it stuck out amonst all those pastels like a bloody thumb print.

I found last night's show very disjointed .. like capítulos were missing. I guess that's why they throw "días despues" in there; you can make up your own continuity. And the whole civil ceremony seemed to come from nowhere, or did I miss something again with my limited Spanish.

Victoria is just so out of character now. Even if she wanted to break if off with Fer, I can't go along with this new plot turn with her being so cruel and insensitive to Fer's feelings after his horrible accident. Dump her Fer, and celebrate (with Irene).

As far as the plot, it seems we're going through all the same machinations ... same old stuff, and there's only a few days left!

Lola

Interesting info tidbit re. the wedding guests, Carla Estrada used twitter quite a bit during the filming and invited a group of her twitter followers (along with some William Levy World members) to be extras in the civil wedding scene. In a youtube interview Jacky B jokingly asks "why are there only women at my wedding?" And mild spoiler alert --she also sent a massive twitter message for any fans in the Merida area to attend the filming of the grand finale!!

Lol Anon! That's hilarious. Thanks for that tidbit. I thought perhaps they just had some of the background crew (like makeup people and such) pose as wedding guests because they all looked like normal, average folks, not beautiful actors.

Thanks for your recap Jardinera. I know there had a be a few sections you wanted to FF through (Vicki being Vicki, Pedro and crew).

ITA with those of you who said (a few days ago?) that Vicki was being incredibly selfish cutting off Fer now. He's recovering from a trauma and she's thinking about herself. It will be interesting to see if Fer and Vicki end up together.

Vivi, SMC, Cubsfan, and Pirate Babe - I saw the babies holding hands and went back to see it again. That was adorable!!

Bruno and Maura - Was it Doris who said you can't fix stupid (regarding Vicki)? Well, that sums it up here too. As Anon 5:49 noted, most know your movements can be tracked on-line. I think the writers want to give us the opportunity for Paula, the computer tech person, to find out it's Maura and beat her down.

I'm also hoping that Dr. Evil gets done in before he can do anything to Portifino.

Lola, I too thought the episode seemed disjointed. It feels like they tried to fit too much into this episode and it wasn't all flowing so smoothly.

A good snarky recap that tells it like it is ... except for one thing. I have a different opinion from "viewerville" about the Vicki-Fernando relationship. Even though I'm in the age group of "the frumpy old hags" rather than the "women" (these must be the cute young hard bodies), I feel that we live in a changing world where different types of relationships have evolved and are becoming as acceptable as heterosexual, older man young woman traditional.

I remember when Roberto and Uli were in the hot tub together, someone from viewerville found their relatiohship so repulsive that they wrote "I hope they get HIV". I noticed that no one commented on that remark so I didn't either. I know that this blog is intended for snark but at times I can't help but think that just about anything is legitimate under the disguise of snark.

"Maura is so obsessed with Alex, that she is capable of driving non-stop, cross-country, for 36 hours while wearing a diaper. Yeesh!"

LOL that's scary Doris. Especially since that really happened.

"Loved the lovemaking scene this was a repeat of the first time they were together intimately but instead this time they did it standing up."

Anon 4:04 that was hot wasn't it. I wanted it to be longer though LOL.

Frumpy old hag i don't think most of us aren't repulsed from the age difference between Vicki and Ferdumbo but the acting in general by the actors themselves.

We had a dis cussion about this quite awhile back how some of us felt the two actors weren't pulling off their scenes together to make it believeable seeing them as a couple.
If the actors can't do their job in making the audience believe in the performance, then yes they will get criticize. That's in any film or series show it's going to happen.

Now for the HIV comment if someone on this blog made a comment like that i would think they would be taken to task making maybe their own personal point of view.

I don't believe most of us would care to read something like whether that person feels so strongly against a Roberto and Useless type of relationship.

Fer should kick Vicky to the curb permanently. She's no good, even if Cuco says otherwise.

No wonder that Vicky raised a serial murderer and an alcholic. She wasn't there when she really needed to be.

On a side note, Jimena the nurse always winds up with the gimp.

Good job Jardinera and Wink @ you for the oohs and ahhs. I see you have been reading my comments lately. :)

I don't understand why they have to have new accounts or account numbers. A company will have an account number for its business account. This seems like they all a personal bank account within the company.

Anyway, I hope Maura changes her mind about doing that scheme. I know i'm the only one that wants that. That's ok. Maybe Jorge will kill Porfirio out of spite or just because.... Since he knows he won't get the money anyway. Or maybe he plans to do something to Maria Jose once the money transfers to her. Who knows what that old fool will do. ***shrugs shoulders***

Ibarramedia

Ibarramedia: Howdy! Yep. Saw you'd popped back in, though I haven't seen you around on the weekends for quite a while --unless you changed your screen name for a while. Dunno if I understood the business with the accounts correctly, so I cannot really answer. That's the only way it made sense to me.
===========
IMHO Vicki was smart to let go of Fer, if for no other reason than in the long run she might have figured that she couldn't have gotten custody of little Vicki if her reputation was "sullied" with gossip about having an affair with a younger man.....just sayin'.....
Also, I believe she was correct to try to persuade him to take a chance with somebody he might have more in common with from an age standpoint, especially since the need to procreate and to have the eye stray to the younger, prettier, more vivacious is very strong in the young of either gender. I think she must have sensed it was the correct/logical thing to do in the long run.

Frumpy: Welcome. Yes, there are those who see things differently and it would be a boring world if they did not. As the old saw goes: Different strokes for different folks. I would add that snark is our way of laughing at the human condition and since we are all human, I would say of laughing at ourselves. You may not agree with my interpretation, but all in all we're only dealing here with imaginary characters. : ? )

Agreed with your last comments re: Fernando and Victoria. I have been out for months actually, reading the recaps everyday and a few comments. Been very very busy.

Don't you sometimes wonder about the threesome of Chucho,Pedro and Meche?

Ibarramedia

Ibarramedia: I initially wondered if Meche and Pedro might end up together and/or if Chucho might end up with Felipa. But as things went along I just started to see them all as a sort of "blended" family.

The blended family thing is plausible enough. I had something else in mind though regarding those three. ;) But we are a family friend site so I won't go into details. ;) :D

Ibarramedia

I dislike the Ferno and Vicky pairing.

But honestly, I couldn't care less about their age difference. As I have said, perhaps ad nauseum, Victoria is all about Victoria, and I think that Fernando, however dim he may be, has shown himself to be a nice and kind person.

He took care of his sister, was kind to little "Charlie" on the Island, has been a loyal friend to Alex and is a good worker. I would like him to have a 'nice' partner, who would adore him, not a confused, self-centered, ambivalent, narcissistic drama queen, who is far too attached to her dreadful son.

The age difference is irrelevant to me. Those two characters are just not going to make each other happy.

However, I believe we WILL see them reconcile because of the set-up with Vicki speaking to the licenciado on Friday and saying she wishes little Vicky to have a male influence in her life. Although they agreed Roberto would come to visit little Vicky, he can't very well do that from Brazil regularly, can he? If Fernando were living in the house with Victoria and Vicky, la niña would have her surrogate father, Big Vicky could stop feeling guilty about Fernando not getting to be a parent and a bright pink bow could wrap up the whole thing.

After all, Vicky's parenting worked out so well the first time, no?

Jardinera~~~Thanks for your delicious, as always, recap. I think Vicky will end up with Fer because their looove has been depicted as destined, but I don't think she deserves him. I like Fer paired with the therapist. Have you ever seen a physical therapist who dresses like this chick? I must admit that I wouldn't be real happy if Hub had a physical therapist like Fer's. Luckily , the one he had last year was the guy who took our daughter to the prom. I am curious to see how Mauron and Bruno meet their destiny. Karma coming. All the driving stories were interesting. I was taught to drive by an uncle who was a terrible driver. We used to drive into the backwoods to visit my boyfriend. One night , on the way home, I ended up on someone's lawn. After I stalled my dad's truck about 5 times at the end of our farm lane, my dad told me to get out and I never learned to drive anything but automatic. I had a bad accident at the age of 16 right after I got my license. I was thrown out of my uncle's car. The car was destroyed , but my uncle and I were not injured too badly. About 3 months after that, I met Hub , and he has been driving me everywhere ever since. I drive , but I don't like it.

I think those are pin #'s to access the co. bank accounts. They want MJ's bank acct # to frame her for the embezzling they are going to do. It's a stupid idea. And REALLY stupid for Maura to let Bruno talk her into yet another ill fated scheme.
The only way to cover your tracks on a computer is to smash the hard drive to bits & drop the pieces in the Gulf.

Another smooth 'n' sassy recap, Jardinera. Meowra is indeed a cat, but I agree she's almost down to her ninth life. Nice ring for MJ, nice kissy-kissy smoochy-smoochy huggy-huggy and beyond. See, Alex, patience pays off.
Not only was MJ wearing a beautiful dress, she had a nice hairdo. Glad she didn't wear the braid for the boda.

"On a side note, Jimena the nurse always winds up with the gimp."
R.O.F.L.O.L.!

Frumpy - sometimes comments are made here that are strictly the opinion of the people who made them, we respect that and feel they are better left alone with no further comment. Usually, we get distracted by more entertaining comments and prefer the giggly stuff, because we're here to have fun and snark it up.

Ibarramedia - I'm with you on the 3-way. ;o)

Elna June once ITA with about self-centered Vicki it has always been about her and her precious murderous son. Blech.

How could anyone leave a person in the condition Ferdumbo was like that, didn't she at least care about his mental state? Like everyone has said she will still probably wind up with him anyway.

The dress MJ was wearing for the civil wedding was beautiful and elegant, anytime she not wearing that hair braid is a blessing in itself.

Variopinta: You could be right about the use of "pin numbers" instead of account numbers. I'll check the recording again tomorrow. What threw me was the word chequear which I thought was used as a noun rather than a verb. Could be I interpreted the whole passage incorrectly then.

Doris- Just got back home and read the last series of comments. Got to Anon's comment and was going to respond just the way you did. We think alike amiga. Yes, sometimes a comment is said that is offensive to my sensibilities, and I'm sure to others. I find that instead of letting that comment hijack the rest of the comments, it's best to ignore it. The fact that others don't usually jump in to agree with the offensive comment, and instead focus on the good "giggly" stuff, says to me that others feel the same. On an open blog board like this we can't all be of the same mindset with the same social and political opinions. But I like that. We have gotten so polarized in this country that it seems like we never just come together to enjoy some common interests. I love that this blog brings together so many people from all over the country and so many ages.

Count me among the people who don't have a problem with Fer and Vicky's age difference. I know a couple that has the same difference in age. They have been together 20 years- they met when he was in his twenties and she in her 40s. She is now in her 60s and he in his 40s, and they are extremely happy. He is the best friend of my ex boyfriend, who is 10 years older than I am- so when the 4 of us went out together, we had quite the age range. :) They are one of the cutest and most solid couples I have ever met.

My problem with Fer and Vicky is Vicky. She's not ready, and probably won't ever be ready, for this kind of relationship. She never fully gave herself over to Fer- mind and body, and it showed. Perhaps that's the hesitation and awkwardness we were sensing in the actors. She isn't brave enough to say I love this man and I will fight for this love, no matter what- no matter what others think, no matter what happens in the future (his possible desire for kids), no matter if my heart eventually gets broken by him. And for those reasons, they should not end up together, even if they love each other.

By the way, the 30-something daughter of the woman in the couple I mentioned is getting married this spring, and the 40-something husband whom the daughter considers a father will be walking her down the isle. He has never had any desire to have "his own" kids.

Vivi, ITA. Vicky won't give her 100% to her relationship with Fernando. Alex and MJ had a lot of problems in the beginning too, and besides Alex not trusting MJ, it was MJ not giving priority to their relationship that led to their breakup. At least that's how I saw it. She was always insisting on divorce and in protecting her father and sister, she jeopordized her "marriage" with Alex. After they both committed to each other completely is when their relation really blossomed. Vicky has this problem where she can't decide whether she is sure or not, and frankly at this point, I think she needs to realize that Fernando has always been devoting himself to "them." Put your insecurities aside woman.

Again, just sooo relieved that Alex and MJ are finally married for real. I'd like to hear Bruno say MJ is not Alex's mujer now. ;)

Jardinera,

As usual... looooveed your recap and I'm going to have to agree with Judy, the best parts were the cat descriptions. Thanks for all your talent and time!

On MJ's dress..it might be the prettiest that I have ever scene on anyone in a novela, and yes, SHE looked great in it, your noticed how pretty SHE looked, not just the pretty dress. I'm not sure about Alex's shiny suit, but you know, the guy just looks great in anything!!!

On Vicky and Fernando and their lack of chemistry, someone said it better than I, it might be that Daniela is uncomfortable in this role and her personal feelings are bleeding through. She is a good actress and has done a bang up job with lots of scenes in this novela. Also said by someone else, as to Gabriel Soto, he "needs to stop on his way to the gym and take some acting lessons". Everyone on this blog probably has examples of real life couples with age differences and I for one say more power too them! Of course, our real life couples aren't acting....their love and devotion shines through. I just simply can't say the same about Vicky and Alex. EJ, as usual, I'm in total agreement with your thoughtful analysis on the Vicky/ Fer pairing!

Anon, yes, a big "double" glass of wine helps a novela plot slide through a doubtful brain!! Judy uses suds!

OT: (Doris, we now have our two "free" adaptor boxes. Thanks for the heads up!!)

Frumpy, I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to express your concerns. I for one, love a good, honest discussion, and we have plenty of that here.....

Paula, the new computer expert will probably discover this latest lame attempt at revenge by Bruno.

I don't think Maura knows that Bruno murdered Ulises, does she? Bruno & Dr Mengele are cut of the same cloth, they hatch the plot & let everyone else take the blame.

Vario/Ibarra: I added pin # into the recap so it might make things more clear. After a review of the scenes I'm still thinking the checkbook and the numbers on the check play a role somehow. Guess we'll see when it plays out this coming week.
==============

As for the actors playing the roles of Vicki and Fer, if they're not coming across it could be as one of you have said that one or both of them does not "feel" the role. I see that as a subconscious admission to disagreeing with the premise of the written relationship on some level. Diana Romo is too good an actress otherwise to flub the romantic scenes so badly. I've seen her in other roles where enveloping romance overtakes her character in a much more credible performance. On the other hand, it could be that her character is played to come across as a woman who never is totally convinced so her "kisses" are never performed convincingly...but I doubt it. JMNSHO. ~ 8 > )

Sandy in TN: YES! 'the guy just looks great in anything' - and out of anything. I really can't stop gushing about him.

I've been having this sick feeling in my stomach at the thought of not 'having him' in my living room 5nights a week, when this is all over on Wed.

..... feeling blue...

Thanks everyone for the feedback about my last post. In reference to the comment about Roberto's sexuality, I hadn't considered the fact that not responding to the comment did not necessarily mean total agreement.

As for Vicki and Fer, Jardinera I like your alternative opinion that Vicki's seemingly lack of emotion may be done on purpose since she is otherwise a good actress. It could be a way to show the conflict she feels within about the age difference. So many other things going on in her life has surely taken its toll on her confidence and self esteem. So,I'm sure she feels flattered that a young handsome man is attracted to her. But deep down within she's not comfortable with it. My bet is that in the end Fer will go with Irene Vicki will have a "friends only" relationship with either Tio or Hernan.

Excellent Comadre Jardinera! Another fantastic recap, you never disappoint.

The age difference is irrelevant to me. But, I do think the bigger the gap, the bigger the challenges can be. I've seen those challenges overcome by deep love and dedication. It seems as a society, we're just used to seeing the male much older, then the other way around. I too think, it could be that Victoria is played to come across as a woman who never is totally convinced, so her "kisses" are never performed convincingly.

I want to send many thanks to all the recappers and folks who comment. I started two spanish classes recently after a long hiatus. I was very happily surprised at how much my spanish has improved by just studying/watching novelas. It's sad to see a novela end, but there's always another. Again, thanks to you, Amor Real was mentioned here and I'm so loving it...
jb

It's MJ's acct # that Maura is supposed to memorize when she takes her to the bank. I assume it's MJ's pin # they want also, so when funds are transferred from co. to MJ it will look bad. It's a dumb plan, if it's done at the bank there are probably cameras. MJ Knows nothing about computers, unless that's what Alex is going to show her. And she doesn't need money. So WTF??? Plus we only have 3 more days to tie all the loose ends together.

Variopinta- I think this last scheme is the one that will be Maura's downfall. I'm sure it will blow up in her face right away, and Bruno will let her take the fall. There's so much focus with her on this one, and so far none of the other stuff she's been responsible for has stuck.

Since Paula never committed to Gabriel and never made an appearance when gabriel said his goodbyes, do you think that maybe she might have a chance with Roberto...??? How much of an age difference is there between them....more than 10 years...???
She's probably 18 so I don't think the difference is too great unless he feels she's too innocent for him.

Ann-NYC

Ann- Paula's more like 21 or 22. She just graduated from college, and Elena left the family over 20 years ago (MJ is around 24 or 25 now). Since Alex is around 28, that means Bruno and Raquel are in their early 30s. And if we consider that Roberto is probably a little older than his wife Raq, then that puts Roberto in his mid 30s. So about a 12-15 years age difference.

Vivi thanks for the info. You sure do have a good memory....

Ann-NYC

Maybe Paula won't end up with either guy. Some of the characters don't in these things. Roberto might be damaged goods and he's a lot older, though I thought he was closer to 30-32 like Bruno was supposed to be. On the other hand, we've seen msny times where older men do marry much younger heroins in these things. Somebody had written that it was more common in Latin American cultures to do so.

Thanks for the recap, Jardinera, very complete, and fun to read as always.

As for Fernando and Vicky, I'm willing to have Fer end up with her, or with Irene. Whatever the writers want. I'd sort of prefer Vicky with Fer, because that's what Fer has said HE wants, over and over again. I think the lack of chemistry is due to Vicky's doubts, and the actress has done a great job conveying them. But if it's not meant to be, I'll accept it.

I also agree that Paula, the new computer whiz, will be able to solve the money transfer. But who'd believe that MJ would do that in the first place? When she was MJ she wasn't interested in money. When she was Sandra, she wasn't interested in money. Everybody knows this. Except, I guess, Bruno and Maura, who themselves value money so much, they just can't fathom someone who doesn't share this trait.

As for Maura, of course she has to go to prison. But maybe she'll help bring down Bruno, and at least she'll have a partial redemption (but still many, many years in prison, I agree) :)

I strongly believe that Vicky and Fer will reconcile. I think her recent attemps at giving Fer his freedom have been completely self-motivated. Fer will forgive her anything. I think this story line will be tied with a nice bow. She is concerned that he won't have children when in fact Baby Vicky will fit that role perfectly.

Wow, was that the edited version of Alex and MJ's lovemaking scene...scortcher!

BTW, Happy Valentine's Day to all you lovely ladies on Caray Caray! (or más bien, Feliz día del Amor y de la Amistad) :)

Jardinera - you raise a good point about Vicki/Fer and the actress not rising to the enthusiasm needed for the relationship. This actress is a strong personality and usually plays strong characters.

Here in the U.S., Jane Curtain, Glenn Close, and a few other actresses have similarly strong personas. They have to be cast opposite (or with, as in DR's character in Alborada and her evil son) an actor who is equally strong.
Otherwise, it would be like expecting John Wayne to play PeeWee Herman; that dog won't hunt.

IMO, Daniela Roma isn't doing well at playing Vicki, because she's playing something she is not: spineless-you-can't-fix-stupid-Vicki, with a weak 'energy' character.

Fernando is a Casper Milquetoast type guy. Nice guy, easy on the eyes, but has that male bimbo aspect about him. He reminds me of the characters Michael Cera plays in current movies but with an age difference. This may be the clue to our complaint of 'lack of chemistry' on screen in this relationship.

I have said all along, many times during the run of this series that I never had a problem with the Older woman ,Younger man age difference. My issue was the relationship with Alejandro. If Fernando as Victoria's boyfriend did not know Alejandro and have no relationship with him, then it is ok.

I could not look at my best friend who is doing my mother and possibly be my step father later on. It just won't work for me if I was Alejandro. Even if I don't see them kiss and whatnot, the visual alone is too much. The knowledge that they are intimate alone would drive me insane.

Remember the scenario I made up?
"So how what's up dude, by the way your mom was great last night. Arrrgh!!!!"

Or even So, what did you and mom do last night? Oh wait, don't answer that question. I don't want to know.

Most guys I know,if not all all of them don't want their mom as a MILF. Oh, I just see image of American Pie right now. Stifler's mom. I can see my friend saying blind me now. Even then, he would not be able to erase that thought from his mind. That's just my take on this.

It is just mind boggling how Alejandro is completely ok with Fernando having sex with his Mother. I thought first it would put a strain on their friendship.

Jardinera, thanks for filling in the gaps. I have limited patience with telenovelas especially when I saw Maura and Bruno were hatching yet another plot! I switched to the winter Olympics.

A younger guy expressed interest in me some time ago. It took me about 18 months to even consider it. Fortunately he moved on. Even if I were truly in love with a younger guy, I would always be sceptical of such a relationship. It's much safer to spend my spare time watching follies of others on telenovelas.:)

I work in IT in a security position. Everything is logged on the server - especially financial data. So it shouldn't take Paula long to figure out who logged on a certain server, do a query on the relevant database table and find all the details of the transaction.

Happy Valentine's Day from me too! Hope you all have a lovely day. :)

Maybe Vicki will like the owner of the place she's having her book promotion and start a relationship with him. Just a thought I had because I don't see her with any of the three other possibilities.

I also see Paula doing the computer detective work and she might meet somebody during that which they haven't even brought into the show yet.

I think Vicki will overcome her scruples and end up with Fernando. IMO the physical therapist is just a red herring.

I'm a bit surprised at all the negativity here about the two of them together. Victoria has lots of "issues" because of the life she's led. She was unfaithful to her husband (who was unable to father children). She has a lot of guilt about that. But HE forgave her and had great joy bringing up the children who were not biologically his. If she hadn't been unfaithful, he'd never have experienced fatherhood.

She lovingly brought up the child of another woman (Alex). It looks like Raquel is coming around, even saying Vicki would be a much better mother than she herself. Raquel must finally be recognizing the mother's love she's had all along.

Bruno is an anomaly. A point can be made that she indulged him. But not every indulged and spoiled child turns out to be a monster without conscience like Bruno.

In her efforts to set Fernando free she's showing real concern for his future. She doesn't want to deprive him of being a father. And she has quite normal female vanity, realizing that she will begin to show her age soon. Fernando is a handsome young man, and she fears what will happen when gravity overtakes her body. This is quite normal and logical.

Hernan is not a possibility. She isn't attracted to Hernan at all and she wouldn't be whatever age he was. There just isn't anything there but friendship.

Maybe my feelings are because I've always really liked Daniela Romo or maybe it's because I've also been the December in a May-December relationship. But I can very well conceive Vicki and Fer together.

If I ever meet a woman 20 or more years older than me and I like her a lot, I don't care what people say
I'm going out with her. I do have boundaries and I would never ever do that to any of my friends mom.

Even if Bruno was brought up in a perfect family, he would still be the evil guy that he is. There is this thing called free will.

Year ago, in one of my classes, I forget which one it was could sociology, psychology or one of my criminal justice classes. Anyway, There was a case study of a few parents of criminals or deviants and they blamed themselves for what their sons did. Tremendous amount of guilt feelings. The other siblings were relatively normal law abiding citizens, but one was serial killer. There was nothing they did wrong and nothing traumatic occurred like in many other cases that can be attributed to negative personal experience and nature vs nurture, environment.

In this case, the guy was just bad. There is no answer to why he did what he did. Just attribute it to his free will. He just wanted to do bad things. I agree that Raquel was a spoiled brat, but she was not trully evil. Bruno is.

Happy Valentine's Day to all. Unlike the heat between Al and MJ, I haven't felt much chemistry between Vicky and Fer. I agree that the therapist is just a tease to viewerville. Recently, in my speaking class, we talked about the normal age to get married in different cultures. I have 2 young guys [probably about 20] from one culture who told us that the man is usually at least 5 years older than the woman. When I asked if marriages ever happened between older women and younger men, they looked at me as if I were crazy and answered in unison. ''Never !'' I have 2 female students from a country that still has arranged marriages, and they both thought that was a good idea. It was a very enlightening, interesting discussion. In some of my students cultures, unmarried people keep living with their parents. Now, getting back to chemistry, which couple in which novela do you think had great chemistry ? My vote is for Matilde and Manuel in Amor Real. H.O.T.

Yes, Susanlynn, I'd have to agree about Manuel and Mathilde because Amor Real is my favorite of all time. I also really liked Christian Meier and Marlene Favela in Zorro.

Fernando has probably always had a "Mrs. Robinson" fantasy about Victoria. He's known Victoria for 10+ years (Alex's college buddy and now they are 29/30ish).

Alex is probably cool with it because Victoria is NOT his mother. He regards her as his mother but she's not. I suspect he might feel differently if Fernando was trying to get with his birth mom.

MJ as embezzler doesn't make sense because MJ is already the majority owner of Lombardo Inc and just remarried the company president. Why would she have to steal what she already has? Why would she remarry Alex if she intended to steal the money (that she already has)? Plus everyone knows MJ does not care about the money. If PAULA were the one married to Alex that would be a different story.

Bruno & Maura are probably too self-absorbed to realize that Paula is WORKING at Lombardo Inc. in the IT department. She & Mari will probably catch the money transfer before anyone else does. Isn't Katia also very proficient with computers? She was able to hack into Fernando's stuff.

Just wanted to say thank you to all the commenters because although recapping is a fun hobby of sorts for me, it wouldn't be nearly as much fun if people didn't think our recaps were worth their time to read and then to comment on. So, it's a symbiotic relationship of sorts, you could say. Anyway, for my part, it's gratifying to know that y'all wait for them daily and appreciate them --even if you don't agree with the personal asides we add. When they spark thoughtful, insightful comments it is even more gratifying! Who could ask for more, huh?

Anon: 7:25PM - "MJ as embezzler doesn't make sense because MJ is already the majority owner of Lombardo Inc and just remarried the company president. Why would she have to steal what she already has?" I had thought the same thing when Bruno came up with that. Someone also said that everyone knew MJ and MJ/Sandra didn't give a flip about money, so this is probably the one big mistake that Bruno and Mau should/could reasonably make that brings them down. I just wish it wasn't such an obvious mistake for the viewers because to this point the writers kept us blinded to what might come next. This bit of the script is disappointing as a result.

Here's some good news. Cheryl is going to be a recapper for CS, and Schoolmarm had signed on to recap Mi Pecado. I've missed them both. We're ready to set sail with CS .

Susanlynn, yess, yes, yes, as Novelera said, Manuel and Mathilde sizzle in Amor Real. Also, Christian Meier and Marlene Favela in Zorro, muy caliente...
jb

WAit, Zorro is being rerun again? Gotta see that. Or is it a new series? Have to set my recorder for it. I wish, I had someone to record evey single one of it's episodes Commercial free same with Amor Real. :(

Ibarramedia

Does anyone know when and where Zorro will be rerun ? I didn't get to see it when it was first run because I only got Univiion at that time.

Ibarramedia, I agree with you completely that information from a hard drive of a PC can be recovered. However, in a large organization, the servers are all in a data center. My really good colleagues tell me that everything can be hacked as people don't follow procedures. Still neither Mauro or Bruno seem to be computer experts. They spend too much time bearing grudges instead of living useful lives. The information is stored in a log on the computer. In the USA, all kinds of security regulations have come into effect with the Sarbannes Oxley act since the Enron scandal. If there is even the slightest semblance of good IT security procedures in the Lombardo company, Mauro and Bruno are toast.

Lynne

Just watched my dvd recording of the last few episodes of Amor Real. I am really enjoying this tn- thanks yo you all who recommended it so highly. It's my first period tn. That, combined with the choice between two really good guy galans, makes it the perfect formula. It's also fun seeing some of the character actors from some of the last few tns I've watched in totally different roles. The episode I just watched had Pedro (Sorti) and Eric (Sorti) being tough good guys and Pedro pulled a gun on Eric. And Tio Meno (Tontas) playing a macho, corrupt mayor. Very different than the last role I saw him in! I also think the FC is at the hight of his beauty here. Saw bits of Esmeralda last week when snow bound, and he's very young in that, but not as handsome as he is in AR. I'll have to see the other one you all love where he's a pirate.

So as far as tn couple chemistry goes, I am enjoying Manuel and Matilda. But I also enjoy MJ and Alex. One of my favorite couples so far in terms of chemistry is actually the secondary couple in Gancho- Beto and Connie. The two of them radiate heat everytime they're in a room together. :)

Lynne this is what I'm talking about. Our anonymity will soon be non existent.

Scary isn't it...the advent of the digital age has made anonymity impossible. At what point are chips placed in our bodies to detect all private actions?

FBI wants records kept of Web sites visited

Zorro is on Telemundo at noon CST. I think Monday will be the 6the episode.

rsk

Jardinera, thank you so much for all of your time and effort in "making my weekend". CubsFan put it beautifully.

I look forward to our next journey and your wit and wisdom.

rsk

Vivi:

On couple chemistry, I too vote for Stinky Beto and Minxy Coni on Gancho. Those two are SO hot, and all the more so because Roberto is a clown-like character and Coni a relative villain.

I thought the scenes of Alex and MJ in the cenote were pretty darn sexy!

Vivi~I'm glad that you are enjoying Amor Real. Wait until you see how things unfold. Have you seen Alborada ? That is my favorite novela. Or is it Amor Real ? I think they are tied for first place for me. I think that the chemistry is stronger between Manuel and Matilde than it is between Luis and Hippolita, but both novelas have interesting storylines and great characters. I like FC's look best in Alborada..the long locks and facial hair...my ideal hombre. In Pasion, he is RicRicRic , the pirate. It is good , but I didn't like it as much as the other two. All three had Carla Estrada as producer and Monica Miguel as director. It seems that FC, CE, and MM are always a winning combination. They seem to bring out the best in each other. As for privacy and the computer, I guess Big Brother is watching. It's a sign of the times. I had a student last semester whose major was computer forensics. He had to explain to me what that was. It's the science of recovering info from someone's computer. He was a very smart guy. Do you ever wonder what technology will be like in another 20 years?...50? 100? I don't want to think about it. I need to escape into a period novela. No phones, tv, cellphones. People had to speak face to face or write a letter. When I watch old movies, the lack of technology is amazing. Are we better off now ?

Thanks for the intel rsk. I wish Televisa and the other companies would make Full episode dvds to go with their condensed version. That way people can buy one or the other or both. Also more money for them. American TV has had these for a few years now. When I was a kid, I wish they did this before.

Ibarramedia

My personal answer to that is yes and no Susanlynn. When I was younger, I wish we had recording devices like we do now. Betamax was the beginning then VHS. Back then not everyone had vcrs. now I have 3 that are working. I have a few dvds still need a replscement dvd recorder and a blu-ray plyer/recorder. We have cell phones now and what was once sci-fi is now reality. Commounication is better than ever. The internet is probably the best thing ever invented that revolutionized pretty much everything. Logging into your laptop or pc, you can use the internet to hook up, get info about anything and everything at the touch of your finger tips.

A million times more effective than the old encylopedia because you can also use internet as an encylopedia. You can use it as a radio, tv, phone. This is how we are all talking now. Heck you can download and upload pictures for all to see. Same with video clips.

If you are a world traveller and words cannot describe a few thing you would like to convey to people you are talking to, you can just say, let me show you so you can see for yourself.

You can also buy anything from anypart of the world now via Ebay and amazon and other online stores.

Back then, you had to actually go to that country to get them.
I guess the drawback is you get inundated with information and some people may feel trapped by their myspace, facebook, tweeter, im,msn emails. Once in a while, I like to receive snail mail cards and letters especially from special girls because it has a personal touch that email cannot deliver.

With modern technology, there is so much to do that you really cannot have cabin fever when snowed in. You won't even notice the days come and go. That's my take on it. Another negative thugh, is that you begin to lose your privacy and George orwell seem more right about Big Brother watching you.

Ibarramedia

The beauty of AR, truthfully after FELS, MEPS and in a way Sorti, is the plot and storyline are more realistic. The triangle and misunderstandings between Mathilde, Adolfo and Manuel seem plausable. There are some evil people, but for the most part the characters are good people in bad situations. It is a relief to have a respite from all the family disfunction we've been watching lately!

Amor Real and Alborada are really well written, you pretty much don't have to wear those darned beanies. The main thing that I love about them is the historical period setting. I'm a history buff and love those kind of flcks and shows. The Patriot and the last of the Mohicans come to mind as something similar. Same with Zorro (Banderas/Zeta Jones) and The Alamo.

Is it just me or guys never really pay attention to who makes good couples and whatnot? I just say that because I read with mild amusement the fantasy pairings you ladies have. And no, not a knock on you all. :)

Ibarramedia

I think that women love stories of couples who are completely in love and devoted to each other whether it's Romeo and Juliet, Manuel and Matilde, or Moondoggie and Gidget. One lasting , true love to have for a lifetime. Couples who fight to be together. I've been watching Spartacus on Starz , and his whole reason for fighting and enduring is to save his wife.

Tu O' Nadie for me was my first favorite all time novela the chemistry was just there from the three leads Andres Garcia, Lucia Mendez and Salvador Pineda. I t wasn't red hot but you just felt how good these actors were in their scenes together.

Next for me was i like the chemistry between Eduardo Yanez and Leticia Calderon in Yo Compro esa Mujer. They were great together in that one.

Salvador Pineda and Edith Gonzalez in Bianca Vidal while Salvador does have the beauty of a Eduardo Yanez he does have male charisma and his scenes with Edith just had some very very good chemistry.

Eduardo Yanez again and Adel Noriega in Guadalupe my second all time favorite novela i must have seen this novela four times already but you can't deny the chemistry between them two love it.

I leave these two for last because their undeniable on screen chemistry was just Red Hot, while they didn't have many lovemaking scenes like the other couples it surpasses them because sometimes it's not just the lovemaking scenes that make a couple but the togetherness.

Maite Perroni and William Levy CCEA
only one lovemaking scene in the whole darn novela but if you watch that scene and their kissing scenes and the scenes were they are together you can just feel the chemistry.

While the writing got worse and worse with CCEA you just didn't want to miss a scene of these two together.

I agree, Anon. Only one darn scene, but man those two [WL y MP] were great together. I felt the magic for sure.

Ibarramedia, lol I think it is a girl thing to notice what a nice pair two people make. I usually don't enjoy it when couples are too lovey, besides when WL is involved. I do notice couples who I think look nice, but besides that i am probably one of the most unromantic people in the world as my sisters and friends say. I like to save the love and romance for TV and literature. In my every day life, I'm much less passionate about the concept of love b/t two romantically involved people.

Jardinera, Melinama, Chavela, Connie, Dipity, and Kat just wanted to echo the thanks! Really appreciated and enjoyed all of the recaps. Looking forward to CS as long as you guys are still around, and of course all the other normal commentors. Will miss you Dipity, and hope you have a nice time off.

Let me also ech Cielo de Levy sentiments to all the recappers for Sortilegio it's been a fun although short ride thanks you for your time and much appreciated efforts.

To Jardinera,Chavala,Serendipity, Melinama,5ft Latina and Connie and a special assist from Vivi thank you all once again.

Nice recap Jardinera. I guess this might be your last or second to last recap of this show. I can tell you put so much of yourself to make this recaps so great thank you.

I'd like to chime in on the chemistry convo and add some of my favorites, although I think most of those couples are not well known here:

Nora Salinas and Alejandro Ruíz in Esmeralda. They were not the main couple, but Graciela and Adriàn were the sole reason I watched that novela. I loved them.

Yadhira Carrillo and Sergio Sendel in La Otra and Amarte Es Mi Pecado. They were scorching together. Weather as evil villains in LO or the long suffering couple in AEMP, they just oozed chemistry.

Laisha Wilkins and Raúl Araiza in Locura de Amor and Un Gancho Al Corazón. They are like a magnet, whenever those two work together they burn the screem with how hot they are.

Thalia and Rafael Rojas in Quinceañera. They were great together, she was just 16 when she made the novela and it was in the 80's so we only saw then kiss near while he started unbuttoning her shirt but somehow they were perfect.

Silvia Navarro and Sergio Basañez in Catalina y Sebastián, Cuando Seas Mía and La Heredera. They were great together, people loved them and they just knew each other so well and were so comfortable during their scenes. It helps that they were also together offscreen half of the time they worked together and they became best friends afterwards. Plus, no other couple has kissed as much as they did in La Heredera (I had to add a clip, since nobody here has seen them or knows him).

Jarocha

Wow Jarocha. What a Valentine! Not surprised they were also a couple off-screen and glad they remained friends after the split. Beautiful shots and I love that Christian Castro song as well. The other one I hadn't heard but it too was lovely. Thanks for all you bring to this site, amiga.

[Jarocha: I hope that comes across in some sort of intelligent manner! 8 > ) ]

I am delighted that you continue to stick it out with us here and am very grateful for your background information concerning popular culture in Mexico, the history of the stars who appear in these telenovelas, as well as the gossip about what went into their making. Your commentaries do so much to enlighten us and make the Caray experience such a wonderful one! You are as much a part of what makes Caray Caray such a magical place as any of us recappers. And, again, without the commenters, Caray Caray simply wouldn't be the wonderful escape for us all that it has become.

Ibarramedia: I don't know what happened to this comment. The eithernet gobbled it up. My hubby bought me a VHS recorder as a gift right after my daughter was born. I remember that Betamax wasn't popular and went the way of the dodo bird. Blandk video tapes cost $15-20 back then. I still have a couple newer recorders and prefer them to DVR's or burning DVD's because it's much easier to do over all. Technology and The Matrix are as scary as they are wonderful. Laws will have to catch up to keep our privacy rights in tact.
8 > )

JudyB: Silvia Navarro just lights up the screen, doesn't she? I'd love to see more of her on Uni. It would add some much needed class as well as overall talent.

Jarocha~~Wowweewow. Thanks for the clip. I've got to motor off to work, so I didn't have time to watch the whole thing. That's what you call marathon kissing. The actor reminds me a little of mi telenovio Marcelo Cordova. Muy guaypo. I'll add my sentiments to Jardinera's. I appreciate all your insights into the novelas and Mexican culture. We are so lucky to have you commenting here. Gotta dash. Later.

Jarocha, I want to thank you as well for bringing so much to this blog. All the inside information on the actors, directors, and the production of the novelas makes this a better place. It takes us to a classroom level, as if we are taking a course in filmography at a college somewhere. I have really enjoyed the comparisons between the reception of the Mexican audiences as opposed to those in the US. Sergio Basañez has been a favorite since La Metira and everyone so respects Sylvia , thanks for the clip. I would love to see WL paired with SN, not because of the love scenes, but for the quality of the two performances. Can you ever see that happening.? Again thanks Jarocha!

Jarocha- I wanted to add my voice to the chorus of thank yous. Also loved those clips. I would really like so see Silvia in more things. I was so impressed with her acting and screen presence in MEPS.

Have a wonderful week everyone. No holiday for me today, so off to work.

Susanlynn...do you ever watch Big10 basketball (can't imagine why you would, but....) the Minnesota team has a great 3-point shooter who's a dead ringer for your telenovio Marcelo Cordova. Was watching the Minn- Northwestern game yesterday and "Roberto" was really making some awesome shots there to put them in overtime. Northwestern won though. Yay!

JudyB looks like you are into college sports bigtime. :) Do you watch pro sports too. Saw the NBA All star game last night. March Madness is around the corner and I hope the Maryland Terps win it all. :)

Ibarramedia

We really have no privacy in today's world. I go to lengths to keep our address & phone number off the internet but in reality, it's a losing battle. With the right knowledge, anyone can go online and find out what you paid for your house, and whose name the title is in. Our son showed us that. The airports now take the full body scanner X-rays (and will that cause cancer to frequent travelers in years to come?) so that all sorts of repairs and ~implants~ are no longer hidden along with the bombs, etc.
Nope, no privacy whatsoever.

Doris,

What worries me is the need of your SS# by doctors or other health service providers. You can turn down a new credit card, but sometimes you need the services of a doctor and lately I've been told, no SS#, no service!

Include me also thanks so much Jarocha and i also want to see more of Sylvia Navarro on Univision and Sandy i love you suggestion of Sylvia paired William that would be a good pairing.

More thoughts on Vicky and Fernando, (as if there hasn't been enough!) I'm not sure why so many of us weren't sold on their relationship, we'll never know. The sad part of it for me is that we've watched Vicky really become a force for good in the novela. She has become a great mom, grandmother, a MIL to MJ, supported Alex, helped Raquel and stood down Bruno, the thing we have been waiting for! She wasn't perfect, but she had changed course in a positive direction. Why oh why did she have to break up with Fernando in such a cruel way...I was about to form a Vicky fan club, now there sure won't be any fan club recruits from Caray Caray!!

SandyTN: Well, I say sometimes you just have to be cruel to be kind. Vicky seemingly knows it's hard on Fer, and we know that it's also been hard on her. She feels IMHO that she is doing this for his future happiness, and if she's begun to do so much great stuff for all the others whose lives she's been a part of, I cannot think Vicki is being written as a meanie here regarding Fernando. JMHO.
: ? )

Sandy- I definitely applaud the transformation of Vicky. I watched a few clips from earlier in the show this weekend, and although she wasn't as bad as Raq or Bruno, she was a bit of a class snob- very quick to suspect the poor trash that was MJ and her family and not open to welcoming them with open arms. Yes, she has grown as a mother, MIL, grandmother and friend, and also as an author as she is now brave enough to put her own name on her book. I'm ok that she's not perfect and that in this one aspect of her life (her love life) she still has a lot of fears. But it is fear. Fear that Fer will eventually regret being with her and fear that she will not be able to handle the guilt of that. And you can't be fearful when it comes to love (MJ has learned that). But it's ok with me that she realizes that she can't overcome her own fears and breaks it off with Fer. It's the cruel way she did it, which left him doubting his manhood. He thought she had ditched him because he couldn't walk; because he wasn't a complete man anymore. She owned him an explanation when she made her decision. Instead she left him hanging in doubt about himself and his value as a man.

ViviDC: I guess I now see your and SandyTN, et al's point, and agree Vicki's timing was really bad to break it off. I don't think she realized it for that, may have even been nearsighted so to speak, but her fears/jealousy at the beginning of his therapy sessions after meeting Irene might have blinded her to that shortsightedness. It doesn't look like she'll be asking for forgiveness since it's been a full week since she received his e-mail explaining the "half a man" slap in the face she gave him.

Jardinera: Thank you so much for your kind words. You expressed yourself perfectly, I'll be waiting for you to visit México because I feel you'd have no problem with the language. Thank you for always going out of your way to make me feel comfortable here.

Thank you also Judy, Susalynn, Vivi and Sandy, you are all great.

Sandy, I didn't know you watched La Mentira. That was Sergio's last work on Televisa, he got offered protagonic roles in TVAzteca and then changed networks, once they paired him with Silvia they became the power couple of their novelas for a while.

Silvia and William would be interesting. I think it could happen in the future if they both stay in Televisa.

Jarocha

“He thought she had ditched him because he couldn't walk; because he wasn't a complete man anymore. She owned him an explanation when she made her decision. Instead she left him hanging in doubt about himself and his value as a man.” Very well said Vivi. This plot line has been painful to watch, as well as what happened to Lissete.

Jardineria, “It doesn't look like she'll be asking for forgiveness since it's been a full week since she received his e-mail explaining the "half a man" slap in the face she gave him.” I agree. When she got the email, that would have been the perfect time to communicate back to him firmly her enormous doubts and then say something similiar to what he said, “ I will always consider you to be one of the best things that ever happened to me, I offer my eternal friendship...etc, etc, etc.” If you know that things aren’t going to work out, I agree it is a KINDNESS to end it quickly...it is just the way she did it!!

Jarocha, La Mentira was my first novela. I loved Sergio in that even though he wasn't the galan. Again, as I said yeaterday re AR, La Mentira was mostly good people handling misunderstandings, therefore believable and satisfying. You and I are about the only ones here that have seen it!!

Long posts today, snow in Kentucky stopped our plans for the day!!

SandyTN: Sandy, I meant to include you with my response to ViviDC. Point well taken and I am sorry I missed those comments earlier in the week (due to racing around as I have to these days), but ITA with you that it would have been a kindness we at this point haven't found out about. Maybe she did or maybe she will before the show ends. It's a messy loose end they really need to tie up for us. :?)

OT: Looks like they are doing Zorro for two hours everyday. I just saw Episode 11&12. Padre Juan Cristobal from ENDA is also there. I think he is Esmeralda's father and he wears a beard and an eyepatch. I wonder if Chris Ferro knows about Zorro being rerun again. He was asking about it around this time last year.

I have a feeling tonight and Tuesday night is when we get to see a resolution to the entire series. Loose ends will be tied up. The finale on Wednesday will probably focus on the end game in the first 15 minutes then wedding preparations,Wedding and a few flashbacks before they live happily ever after.

Ibarramedia

Just home from a looong day . The new comments were interesting. Sandy~ After reading your list of Vicky's roles, I am beginning to think that she just has too much on her plate right now [mother, MIL, abuela, author] to have a lover. However, I think the reason she dropped Fer like the proverbial hot potato was Irene. As soon as she saw lovely Irene interacting with Fer, I think she either lost her confidence or felt that the noble thing to do was to let Fer go so that he could have a relationship with someone his age. I'm sure that the writers are just messing with our minds and that Fer and Vicky will be together at the end. Fer will walk again , and they will raise MiniVicky together thus allowing Fer to experience the joys [and other stuff] of raising a child. Let's hope that MiniVicky turns out better than Vicky's other two attempts at motherhood. TickTock...We'll have our answers soon. Judyb~I do not watch basketball, so I haven't seen the player who looks like mi telenovio. I'll ask Hub to tell me the next time Minnesota is playing. Do they play Penn State ? My son-in-law went there, so he and Hub watch those games. After watching Hub wrestle and play baseball and softball , referee basketball, and umpire softball, I now avoid sports as much as possible. I was forced to watch a few minutes of the Superbowl while having dinner at my daughter's house...nowhere to run. Give me a good telenovela or decorating or travel show.

I finally watched the last half of Friday's episode and I have to agree with everyone here: MJ's wedding dress is drop-dead gorgeous. Oh,,, ,wow. That is the best wedding dress I've seen yet on a telenovela.

Now to juggle the Olympics with Telenovelas. Aaaaaaack..... Curling starts tomorrow!

Novelera

I agree about the negativity surrounding Vickie and Fernando. I don't think she is narcessistic as some continuosuly say. I feel that she has tried to break off the romance numerous times, because she is so much older, because he is probably close to the ages of her kids, because when she turns 70 and having arthritis and other health problems, he will only be 50ish and because of the aging process,he would most likely be taken as her son and not her husband. Her only problem is that she was not able to be consistant with the break. Let him go AMEN. Instead she weakens and in so doing, gives conflicting messages to Fernando. And yes she is jealous and why not. This woman is his age and vickie realizes that he needs someone his age. It is his time to enjoy his youth. It is his time to have a family. She had her time and she wants him to have his; however, she loves him, which makes this difficult.

Jarocha,
Thanks so much for the clip with Silvia. I almost had the fire dept. called as my laptop was overheating, steam pouring from every crevice. Wonderful chemistry.

I had a busy weekend with the boys home from college, so just reading through all the comments. All I can add is that the to me, the writers are doing a really poor job with some of the plot lines and how they are handling the end for certain characters. Why paint Vic so selfishly? Some results could have been gotten with different twists. We still have a few more days, so I guess I'll wait till then. But'm actually feeling let down with the story as we near the end

Hi all: I have hesitated to post, because I have been away for so long, but I couldn't help it, now that we are so close to the end. I used to post as "Agnes in NJ", before I went away last summer, but I've been back, lurking, since Oct. and can't find any of my old passwords etc.. So here I am under a different identity. I plan to stick around with the CS gang in the 9 o'clock EST slot.

Long story short: I adore WmLevy!; I can't believe how CarayCaray has matured since the Alborada days—Melinama really set the bar high and turned this into a real community; and I hope to get re-acquainted with the old hands and the new (prodigious) talent.

Fernando has never said anything about desiring children of his own. He probably feels that Katia is birth control enough. Why is everyone disregarding what Fernando wants or predicting what he might want in the future when Fernando has NEVER said he wanted children and has never expressed any interest in any of the children/young people (besides Katia) already on the scene?

Contrast that to Roberto, who HAS taken an interest in the youngsters on the scene.

If Fernando chooses to stay with Victoria, knowing that he won't be able to have children with her, that's HIS choice to make. Not Victoria's or Tio's or anyone elses. Fernando will probably end up like Tio.

Jarocha, thanks so much for that hot, hot, hot clip of Silvia and Sergio. They seem so natural together.

Sergio reminds me a bit of Mauricio Islas.

Welcome back, Lady Xoc. Glad to know there's another addition to the CS viewers. :)

LadyXoc: Hey there, Agnes! You will always be AgnesNJ to me, kiddo. Glad you never totally left us and that you'll be setting sail with the rest of us for CS2009. It sounds like a good story line and if it turns out to be Rotten Tomatoes material then it'll be a scandalous time for us Caray folks.

Jardinera, You crack me up! and Cielo, thanks. So nice to hear from new people. You're from Berkeley, right?

Well, my watch tells me it's about time to get my butt over to the TV.

Lady Xoc, I do live relatively close to Berkeley. About 25-30 minutes away. Are you also in California?

Cielo, No, I live right across the Hudson from the tip of Lower Manhattan. But I have a niece who lives on Ashby and her mom, mi cuñada, lives on Piedmont. It sure is beautiful there!

Lordy, you write great recaps, Jardinera. You leave me rolling even when I'm lurking. Lurking and rolling. Could it be contagious?

Jeanne
