La Verdad Oculta EP08 09/14/2010 - Jealous youngsters and reckless old men

* Club Sagitario
Cruel headache starts torturing Mario who almost falls into David's arms. Blondie says that his dad may be exhausted. Mario quickly agrees, and asks him to escort him home.

* prison
Marcos and Elsa have a heated quarrel on phone. Marcos still believes that his sister has a money laundering manufacture behind her kitchen and aggressively commands her to send him cash as soon as possible. No wonder he's worried: if he doesn't pay to his new low-life friends he'll be in deep trouble.

* Guilléns' flat
Leonardo helps Julieta to carry her heavy bags into the flat and they finally introduce to each other. Leo would like to maintain a friendly relationship with his neighbours and he learns that the girls work as waitresses in Club Sagitario.

* Zárate factory
Salomón can't believe that Elsa dares to ask for loan again and harshly rebuffs the girl. After he leaves, Roberto, who's familiar with financial problems advises her to visit Carlos, the guy she met in his flat. She's grateful for the advice, but would rather sell dresses to his girlfriend.

* Guilléns' flat
Gaby announces to Fausto that she and Julieta are going to help Carlos to choose new uniforms. No, they couldn't reject his wish. Daddy says that it's high time to quit that damned job since the bosses take advantage of the girls' good nature and goes to bed grumbling.

* prison
Juan José secretly visits Gregorio and reports to the old scoundrel that he was interrogated by the warden and he kept telling him that Greg surely had nothing to do with the drug the guards found under his mattress. Thanks to his insistence the case will be investigated. Gandalf is joyful for his help and loyalty, and swears that he'll get even with the guy who set the trap for him. Of course he knows who did it.

* Genovés villa
Father and son talk about the Genovés girls. Since Alejandra's business doesn't go well, he David wants to asks her to redesign his office. Mario agrees and says that when David will be the head of the family he should keep taking care of the girls until they get married. Okay dad, but you won't die for a very long time. Bertha is jealous at the friendship of Ale and David and believes that she has ulterior motives but as usual, Ale doesn't take seriously the accusations of her little sister.

After the cousins left the house Bertha storms into the study and offers Mario to help around the household. (Gawd, Dora will quit if the little princess starts to boss her around.) Mario is very grateful for her kindness until Bertha casually mentions that David isn't his son. Her mother told Bertha and Alejandra that a servant abandoned him when he was a newborn. Mario's head starts to fume. He orders Abelardo to bring Fausto ASAP. In the hall Bertha starts to give orders to Dora, and yes, she acts like an obnoxious little brat.

* Club Sagitario
Roberto brings Elsa to the club. While the girl waits outside Rob tells Carlos that here's the opportunity to hit on her. But Carlos isn't interested, he wants Gaby and already has a plan how to seduce her.

* Alejandra's office
David and Ale discuss the new design of his office. First Mina comes in and Ale introduces them, then Roberto, Elsa and her big suitcase arrive. Ale warmly welcomes Elsa and the ladies march off to look at the dresses.

* street
Abelardo asks Fausto to visit Mario. Fausto objects as usual, Abelardo gets angry as usual, and Leonardo shows up, wow, that's a new element. Fausto gives in.

* Alejandra's office
Roberto tells David that he and Carlos are going to have lunch with the little waitresses and well, they have other plans with them. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. David looks like he would gladly punch both Roberto and Carlos.

As Roberto leaves he tries to give Alejandra a goodbye kiss, but she evades like a professional boxer. David, who's nervous like Jack Bauer in the 24th hour quickly invites her for lunch.

* restaurant
The four kids arrive at the elegant restaurant, and Carlos immediately starts to court Gabriela who seems to be muy uncomfortable. When Roberto finds out that neither of the girls have boyfriend he hurries to hit on Julieta - just when Alejandra and David arrive. Ayyyy. They join them and the boyz' faces become sour. Alejandra recognizes the ladies, they're waitresses from Club Sagitario, aren't they? Her eyes could kill.

* Genovés villa
Mario offers to give half of his fortune to Gabriela and another huge amount of money to Fausto in exchange for his silence... and for taking his place for six months! Fausto laughs at his absurd idea but when he realizes that Mario talks seriously his smile freezes.

* Guilléns' flat
The girls arrive home. Gaby's so angry that she almost explodes. They shouldn't have accepted the invitation of Carlos, they should've been more suspicious. The bastards fooled them. At the end of the month they'll quit, period!

* Zárate factory
Salomón is very pleased with the business Elsa did. She again begs for money. Salomón finally agrees.

* Guilléns' flat
The girls whine in the kitchen. Julieta is fed up with being a waitress, and Gaby agrees, they need to study something. For example, how to use the computer.

* Genovés villa
Fausto keep telling Mario that his idea is stupid. It's not his fault that Mario signed tha absurd contract with Adolfo! Mario threatens him that if Fausto doesn't obey he'll reveal his true identity to Gabriela and to the police. Fausto silently breaks, and Mario shares his plan: they'll set up cameras all around the house, so Fausto will be able to study his life and prepare for the task in the next months.

While Bertha is trying to give orders to Abelardo (unsuccessfully) in the hall, David and Alejandra arrive home, bickering about what happened in the restaurant. Bertha is amused at their story.

* prison
JJ witnesses that Elsa gives the money to her brother and also hears how disgustingly Marcos treats the girl.

* Club Sagitario
Carlos is frustrated since his plan hasn't worked, but Roberto calms him: these girls are simple waitresses, they'll surely snap at the opportunity to get closer to their bosses.

* prison
Marcos and JJ have a quarrel, he doesn't like the way he treats the girl, and anyway, why does he need that money? He cares for Marcos, he and Elsa are like family for him. Marcos isn't impressed and advises him to not get involved.

* Guilléns' flat
The girls discuss Carlos and Roberto. Julieta is a bit naive and thinks that maybe the boys don't want to fool them. When people fall in love money doesn't matter.

* Genovés villa
It's late night, and the men are still arguing in the study. Fausto doubts that the plan would work, it's impossible to fool people this way! Mario grabs his scarf and hisses: you're capable to do it!

Help. Ayuda. Hilfe.

Here's the deal: we need volunteers. At least one generous lady or gentleman who would write either the Friday or the Monday summaries. (Or another day.)

From the third week of October it will become very hard for me to write every 3 times per weeks. Not impossible, just hard, and we would appreciate any help.

The average recaps on this blog are 8000-20000 characters long (= 1500-4000 words). We try to create shorter but informative summaries which contain 5000 characters (1000 words). Or less. For Jeri it takes 1 hour to write a recap, for me it's a bit longer since I have to translate the conversations twice and I live in symbiosis with the dictionary. And that's why I need help, because from next month I'll need more time for my other activities.

Friday and Monday are the easiest days for recappers, because both can be written on weekends. (As long as the Monday recappers has the video - downloaded it or watched it on youtube - and understands it without closed captions.) If someone says that she/he would write a summary every second week, that's also fine.

Thanks. :)

Thanks, Aribeth. Just one day a week would help a lot.

At the moment, Aribeth and I are switching off days, odd and even. This means one of us has three a week at any given time.

Not expecting recaps at all, since I promised Melinama we wouldn't be taking recappers away from the prime time soaps.

It's just a discussion thread with some discussion points ideally.

So not a big commitment, and we would so appreciate someone taking a day. Thanks!

P.S. We can supply anyone with a list of episode downloads to make it easier to summarize ahead of time and without watching at midnight.

Ladies- I might be able to take Fridays off you hands if no one else steps up. It would defnitely not appear until the weekend, since I recap on Thursdays and am usually out Friday nights.

Thanks for a complete summary recap. You got all the highlights. :)

So what was up with Ale being such a b!tch to Gabi and Julieta? Was it because she thinks while Roberto was romancing her, he was seeing Juli on the side? Does she think they are just some slutty girls trying to get ahead by sleeping with the boss and his buddy? (They certainly don't dress like sluts.) Either way, I was glad David told her off when they got home.

And I was as impactada as Mario that Bertha (and apparently Ale) was told the secret of David's parentage by their mom. It wasn't really their mom's place to do so, in my opinion. So now the entire family knows, except David. I don't like Bertha having that kind of info.

Salomon says to Elsa after he gives her the money that she will have to pay him back in installments with interest starting next month, OR she could make her "payment" in just a few short hours. Ewwwwww! I think we all know (and Elsa too) what kind of payment he's thinking of. Run Elsa! Run! Damn Marcos for making his sis do this. He's a jerk and I hope JJ or Goyo do to his face what Goyo did to his hand.

I was really glad to see Julieta and Gabi decide they need to do more with their lives than be waitresses. They've decided they can do it all- work, take computer or English courses, and take care of the house and their dad. Good for them! They should talk to lazy Bertha. :)

Thanks Aribeth and Jeri for your wonderful work with the recaps and links.

I would love to help out, but I am watching this only on youtube and my spanish is not that fluent to be able to write anything with confidence. I am actually depending on Caray to find out what is going on with this novela. Sorry.

Salomon is real slimy, even dresses like a slimebag, yuk. Poor Elsa having to ask for money from him just to help her idiot brother. She should tell her brother to go jump.

Bertha is so stuck up. She should get a job to earn her keep instead of acting like she is the lady of the house and sticking her nose in other people's business.

I don't get Marcos and Roberto. Aren't there any other available women out there without them having to plot to have female company.

Margaret

Margaret-

I think that Carlos really likes Gabi. Notice how he couldn't even be bothered to look twice at Elsa since he was thinking about Gabi. But Roberto keeps playing to his lower instincts- convincing him to treat this like just another slimy conquest. Roberto is just along for the ride.

Aribeth: A perfect title and excellent recap.

You cut right to the heart of things yet never fail to sprinkle the grit with humor: "Marcos still believes that his sister has a money laundering manufacture behind her kitchen". Great!

Of course, your pictures were fabulous.

Leonardo would be an excellent match for Julieta. Of course, he only has eyes for Gabi.

Juan might want to re-evaluate at whom he considers "family". Marcos obviously cares about no one but himself and his predatory behavior toward Elsa is sickening.

If my understanding of Spanish weren't limited to a few words here and there, I would be more than happy to try to recap one night. The simple truth is: I'm just not good enough. While I may be able to understand certain behavior or actions, I don't have the language comprehension that's needed. However, I will continue to cheer vigorously from the sidelines with great appreciation for the job you and Jeri are doing. Vivi, I've told you before your writing is amazing. If you are able to take a night, you would be a wonderful and most welcome addition here.

Margaret, I suspect Carlos and Roberto have no choice but to resort to subterfuge to have any female companionship. Even watching and listening to them for a few minutes makes my skin crawl. Particularly Roberto! :)

Diana

Vivi, thanks so much for the generous offer! Do you want to try it this weekend?

Diana, I agree about the money laundering! I LOL'd at that.

Thank you Aribeth! You and Jeri do such a fabulous job! I would truly love to help you out, but without closed captions on the show that I could work off (my Uni station doesn't have them) I am really lost at times. All I could do is a summary of the action with a guess as to the exact conversational content.

Vivi, I didn't get Ale's attitude either unless, as you say, she thought Roberto was two-timing her. You'd think she'd be more than happy to be rid of him.

I don't get Marcos and Roberto. Aren't there any other available women out there without them having to plot to have female company.
I think Roberto gives off a needy, clingy, slimy vibe... he reminds me of a snake that wraps itself around its victim. I think most women pick up on stuff like that. Who wants to date a snake? I'm actually really surprised Ale even dated him. Carlos seems angry and somewhat immature. He's a mama's boy without the mama.

I sure wish they'd show more scenes with EY. He looked really handsome in the scene where he was arguing with Marcos. Excuse me... I have to fan myself now. :)

First, let me correct myself, I meant Carlos not Marco.

Vivi, Diane and xlntperuvian - If Carlos is attracted to Gabi and he wants to win her, then, one, he should get rid of his mo and two, get rid of Roberto. They are both a hindrance, imo, to getting a girl, lol.

I also agree, what attracted Ale to Roberto. They were a mismatch that's for sure. Do you see the way Roberto moves around, very shifty.

Margaret

Jeri- Sure, I'll take this Friday on this weekend. There will be no screen shots from me, unless you already have them. Then I am happy to insert them in with the text. I'll have to make a note for myself on my calendar. :)

Margaret- Shifty is the perfect way to describe Roberto. I don't think Ale knows why she dated him either. Once again, I think it was a distraction from her mother's illness. LOL at your advice to Carlos if he wants to get a girl. Dump the 'stache and Roberto!

I'm thinking the reason Alejandra became so rude was that she assumes any waitresses who go out with the boss are gold diggers.

Vivi, oh great! Thank you so much. Screen caps are optional...

Jeri, thank you for a great recap.

Roberto (one of favorite actors) is doing a good job of making himself very slimy and shifty looking. Ale what were you thinking.

The actor playing two parts (Mario and Fausto) is doing a terrific job. If I did not know better, I would swear that it was two people.

Vivi, thanks for offering to help out. For someone who is semi-literate in Spanish you are a true blessing.

Rosemary

Thank you, Aribeth for everything. And Jeri too.

Right now, I think LVO might be the best of the novelas on with much less beanie time than STuD and less filler than HEDNS. I am anxiously awaiting to see how Mario & Fausto carry off their deception and how and when J J becomes free and wealthy.

The Roberto actor is quite adept at playing sleazy. Roberto seems to be covering all bases but doing it badly. Looks like Julieta may fall for him.

Yes, Bertha really is going to be the queen bee now.

GinCA

Thank you, Vivi, thank you so much! :)

And I was as impactada as Mario that Bertha (and apparently Ale) was told the secret of David's parentage by their mom.

I'm not 100% sure that Alejandra knows the truth, too. And I agree that it wasn't a wise decision of their mother. If David doesn't know that he isn't Mario's son, then his cousins/dog/hairdresser/high school teachers shouldn't know about it either.

So what was up with Ale being such a b!tch to Gabi and Julieta?

I guess she had a bad day. :) But I don't think that she was so bitchy. She just stated a fact - yes, her voice was poisonous because he wanted to make Slimebag R uncomfortable, but imho she didn't cross the line. Much.

GinCA:
Looks like Julieta may fall for him.

I also have a bad feeling about this situation... :) Gaby is a bit more mature and cynical than her sister. Julieta (and Elsa) are much more vurnerable and gullible, I'm worried about them.
