La Verdad Oculta #51: No Reservations in the Presidential Sweet

Old married couple David and Gabriela are ecstatic in each other's company, drinking champagne at a fine restaurant; when David learns champagne makes Gabriela very jolly, he determines to order three more bottles immediately.

At the Mirador restaurant, Juan José's and Alejandra's building appetites require more than food; and after hastily arranging for the presidential suite in the penthouse, he rushes her giddily and greedily to the elevators, which don't arrive faster for laying on the UP button.

The car empties them out on the top floor just in time, because they barely make it to the hallway love seat before rending their garments, rolling around together to get at the sweet promises underneath; and they leave a trail of kisses, caresses and discards all the way to the suite door -- to afford viewers a lucky look at Juan José's firm flanks (and an unidentified flying fuzzy object over his tropic zone), when Alejandra understandably fumbles with the key card before they tumble in.

Love birds David and Gabriela arrive home, embracing and murmuring and chuckling all the way in, after David revealed at the restaurant that he's never felt for anyone what he feels for Gabriela. Bertha confronts them, trying to interrupt with news that "Mario" never called, but it rolls off their backs; and they are solid tonight.

At the condo, Félix reports happily to Adolfo that they found Roberto -- and what's more the trefoil ring, which Adolfo notes upon examination are the same stones, but different setting. Presently Bertha enters, casting a jaundiced eye at Félix's jaundiced eye, and pleases Adolfo by completing her mission and delivering Gabriela's L.A. photos.

Ramón dismays Leonardo at his AFI office by delivering other photos, this time of Santiago Guzmán -- who is unfortunately definitely by image and fact Fausto Guillén. Ramón notes the ages of the daughters match, and Leonardo is loathe to arrest Santiago before investigating -- although Ramón's suggestion he could have killed Márta out of jealousy clearly makes sickening sense to Leonardo.

Turning to his computer, the screen saver of a black Labrador retriever is replaced by old records showing that Adolfo accused Santiago; and Leonardo notes that Gabriela overheard "Mario" speak of Márta, too. Phoning Santiago to ask again about the L.A. photos, Leonardo has no patience for excuses and will ask Gabriela himself for this possible evidence against Adolfo, if Santiago does not; so Santiago acquiesces and will do it.

Hanging up, Santiago claims to Julieta he wants an L.A. trip photo to frame for the apartment, and Julieta agrees to ask when she reaches Gabriela's house. At the condo, seeing Adolfo burn the photos and negatives, Yolanda erupts in anger to think Bertha knows everything now.

But Adolfo mollifies her with news that Bertha neither was told nor asked for information before delivering the photos. Adolfo admires Bertha's intelligence and appreciates her discretion. Yolanda and Adolfo are both relieved no one can connect them to the shoes; and getting back to business, Adolfo reminds Yolanda they'll discuss the archeological artifacts she'll take to the beach house.

In the presidential suite, a smiling and robed Alejandra exits the bath to view El Presidente spent and sprawled on the destruction of their bed, her bra stretched across one side of his face. Sensing more on the horizon, Juan José bolts awake and meets her bounding into bed, vowing he's thought of nothing else than being like this day and night since they met. Hiking her around his waist, Juan José judges the view better with Alejandra on top, where she rewards him by slipping the robe off her shoulders.

At Mario's, Abelardo's distraught that David has ordered an audit of the Ávila books and can't dissuade him; Abelardo even tries to enlist Gabriela to convince David, but she is loathe to interfere in the business, despite insistence it's a dangerous action.

After they exit, Bertha phones Carlos at the condo to set up a meeting with him; he's intrigued -- especially to hear she has a little gift for him. After he hangs up, an eavesdropping Yolanda entreats him to leave Bertha alone; and when he assumes it's over Adolfo's interest, he points out Adolfo has his money and Carlos has other weapons to fight with.

Bertha phones Mina at the office to check on Alejandra, reporting her sister's absence last night. Presently, Alejandra appears at the office, and avidly curious Mina notes she's wearing the same clothes as yesterday -- but Alejandra's grinning lips are sealed, to Mina's disappointment.

When Elsa visits Caramelo at the hotel suite, she learns Juan José was absent last night, too; and he chooses that moment to enter and lie about his whereabouts, pretty much sealing the deal for Elsa, who exits never wanting to speak to him again. Juan José tries to blame Asunción for meddling; and as Asunción and Caramelo leave for school, the two of them agree they'd rather be poor again. It was more fun.

Adolfo visits the holding house to question a clueless Roberto who's astounded and mystified to hear he's been beaten to a pulp because Mario is supposedly alive. Roberto convincingly swears he saw both bodies burning, but Adolfo also saw "Mario" alive and assumes he's lying -- and if he can't admit it, the dead one will be Roberto!

At Mario's, Gabriela and Julieta agree that "Mario" and Santiago are both acting strangely, Julieta putting it down to age. They go to look for the L.A. photos just as Alejandra enters to speak to Abelardo. In the office, after learning no one's heard from her uncle, Alejandra gets Abelardo to confirm her suspicions and regretfully admit Mario did indeed die in the accident.

When Bertha and Carlos meet at a restaurant, she gives him one L.A. photo she held in reserve from Adolfo -- a photo of Gabriela alone in the outfit and shoes Adolfo gave her. Carlos and Bertha both apparently see it as a way to needle David, though; and Carlos will have it framed.

In Gabriela's bedroom suite, neither she nor Julieta can dig up the pictures; they're strangely missing from the little box she kept them in. Meanwhile, down in the office, a tearful Alejandra can hardly believe how good Santiago is at mimicking her uncle; but can't imagine continuing to feign he really is Mario. Abelardo begs her to continue doing so -- and to even help the recalcitrant Santiago; and Alejandra reluctantly agrees to try.

Back upstairs, Gabriela is just ticking off all the weird occurrences of late when she's reminded of Juan José's mysterious request and phones him to make sure he's not planning to hurt her family, which he firmly denies. They decide to set a meeting time tomorrow.

At the holding house, even after a bit more convincing, Roberto still insists he killed Mario Genovés. He grits out through blood and loose teeth that he is absolutely sure he saw the bodies burning, infuriating Adolfo further. He's in San Miguel de Allende now! Adolfo maintains.

And Roberto has to finish the job, plus explain how he got the trefoil gems that Adolfo acquired ages ago in Egypt as part of a unique set -- which Roberto finally admits he stole from the waitresses' apartment. And now Adolfo is completely frustrated, because there's no reason it should have been there -- no reason!

Carlos puts the newly framed picture of Gabriela in his desk drawer at the Sagittarius office, until Abelardo and the auditors arrive, angering him so that he gives them the boot; and then in a fit of pique, Carlos retrieves Gabriela's photo from the drawer and displays it prominently on the credenza behind him.

Leonardo visits Santiago at home and admits he was already suspicious about Adolfo over his inordinate interest in the shoes; but then he turns pointedly and asks what Santiago thinks. Flustered, Santiago insists he's never met Adolfo; and as Leonardo noncommittally responds, Julieta enters with surprising news that the L.A. photos just disappeared.

Unshockingly, David makes a beeline for the Sagittarius after Carlos booted his auditors and Abelardo; and David's just beginning to berate Carlos when he spies the conspicuously displayed photo of his own wife behind Carlos on the credenza, the anger on his face turning to incredulity -- as opposed to Carlos's spreading spiteful grin.

Good evening! :D I didn't watch the episode by the You Tube version, so maybe someone who does can clue us in where the tangy bits are:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 5

Love the title. Jeri. I couldn't help myself and had to take a peak before the show starts at 12. Glad I did: Hot scene starts about midway of part 1, skips part 2 and continues at the beginning of part 3. Yowza even with a bit of pixilating.

Anyway, Bertha is just the worst. Since she figures she's entitled to the inheritance now, all gloves are off with David and Gabi. She'll just annoy them to death. Her little game of giving the LA photo of Gabi to Carlos hopefully will come to cause problems for Adolfo since it's the only photo evidence left of the ugly shoes.

I'm surprised Roberto is still alive.

Thanks Jeri for the fantastic recap, and for the links. Loved your title as well. Really appropriate, lol.

Finally, after 11 years in prison JJ gets lucky with Ale. He was so impatient outside the suite and Ale was trying to control that impatience and she was also on the lookout for any wondering guest who might see them. I was laughing the whole time and I couldn't believe that he actually pulled his pants and everything else down in the hallway. Did the blurry part mean that he was totally naked? Very well done. Just love this novela. One of the best.

David is a real hothead and so annoying right now. Why won't he listen to Mario/Fausto or Abelardo not to stir up trouble, but no, he has to get his own way. Abelardo should put him over his knee and give him a few slaps on the seat of his pants, because he sure is acting like a kid. There are only 4 months left on the contract, why can't he wait.

Poor Limon and Caramelo, being in the middle of JJ and Elsa's bad moods all the time. No wonder they are thinking of how much more fun it was on the streets. I hope their bickering ends soon for their sakes.

Carlos is just asking to be beat up by David again by having that photo of Gabi. What childish behaviour.

Bertha is in her element as a trouble-making shrew. Adolfo won't be too happy when he sees the photo of Gabi in Carlo's office.

Now that Leo knows who Fausto really is, he is putting the pressure on him to reveal information. That might be enough to scare Fausto to go into 'hiding' again, but this time with his 'Mario' disguise.

Margaret

Oh and also, can't wait to see what will happen to Roberto. Is this the end for him, will he escape, or will Adolfo use him again until he pays off the money he was given for killing Mario.

Margaret

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE.

Jeri, those are great pictures. Wish I had time to watch this but I don't.

WE'RE DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR A RECAPPER TO ALTERNATE FRIDAYS WITH CARLOS RECAPPING LLENA DE AMOR (7 PM). IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO'D LIKE TO TRY IT. EVEN ONE TIME TO SEE IF YOU'D LIKE IT? Please contact me or Sylvia. You can find our emails by clicking on our names.

Thank you, ladies. :-) After recapping this episode, I can tell you I had amazing dreams last night. LOL

GinCA, I was surprised at Bertha; granted she doesn't know why Adolfo wanted the photos and doesn't know how dangerous he is -- but he would view it as betrayal.

And I think we all know Leonardo is going to wind up seeing this photo somehow, whether he visits Carlos in the office or whether David grabs the frame and shoves it in Gabriela's face and returns it that way or what. Should be interesting, the trouble this picture will cause.

Margaret, I was laughing all the way, too. What fun they were having; Juan José was just giddy -- and Miss Buttondown Architect has quite a lot of stuff in her, too, as it turns out.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to say that in the download I saw, the fuzz-out only covered his underwear -- I thought! It looked like he had underwear on, but I don't know why they would fuzz that out.

Jeri- You hit the jackpot last night! Great recap of some really fun, sweet and sexy scenes with our two main couples. Ale was more than game to join along in JJ's pent up (more than 11 years) sexual energy. I was afraid they wouldn't make it to the room. That must have been a fun and hilarious scene to film with lots of bloopers. :)

Poor Gabi is about to be hit with another major David jealousy attack. And she didn't even do anything!

I was feeling sorry for Roberto for a bit during that brutal beating, but then I remembered that he killed Mario and the driver, and all the other misery he has caused people, and I didn't care.

I just took the pie out of the over and the orange rum cranberry sauce off the stove. I'm headed to my parents' to enjoy the holiday, but will for sure check in to see the additional comments via my phone, and back tomorrow to see Aribeth's recap.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends! For those outside of the U.S., I send the same wishes, since everyday with family and friends is a day to give thanks.

Jeri
Loved your double entendre title. You certainly did hit the jackpot. Congratulations.

LVO continues to amaze me with it's intricate, well-written story-line that just keeps moving along, unlike some other one I happen to be suffering through.

Oh, and GinCa--PEAK was the right word for what JJ and Ale were getting to.

Vivi, always thank you for your recaps and comments. There's not much left to say except, please post this orange-rum-cranberry sauce. It sounds yummy.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who stops by CarayCaray.

Jeri, you outdid yourself covering all the action here -- especially between JJ and Ale. Among many stellar lines, your "UP button" line had me lol. And muchismas gracias for the photo.

This episode left me breathless.

Back to earth. I'm convinced JJ loves Elsa, but not in a wild, crazy, shouting-to-the-ceiling kind of way. He met her when she was an adolescent, she was his best friend's kid sister, she represents wholesomeness. He just can't go there with her. But when he was consoling her over Marcos' return to jail, he said "others love you" and was clearly including himself. But Elsa responded, "yes, I have Caramelo, Asuncion, and Mauricio" and JJ looked hurt to be left out. Then, later, when he thought she was spending the night with Mauricio, he showed some very non-brotherly-like anger. I guess their strange dance will continue for some time.

I like the JJ-Ale pairing. And isn't it remarkable how an earth-shattering roll in the hay with JJ cleared up Ale's head on the truth about Santiago/Fausto? I wonder if she'll share this with JJ. She shouldn't grieve alone.

Sure hope David rises above his impulses this time and realizes the Gabi photo is just another trick. I don't need him to be perfect, but just not to fall for Carlos' tricks every time.

Margaret, I saw JJ's red briefs. I think they blurred it out for effect. I think they wanted us to think he was naked.

And Niecie in MD. I agree with you that JJ has strong feelings for Elsa but doeesn't know how to express it. With Ale it is strongly sexual.

Jeri, thanks for the recap and Links. One time I had channel 41 I fell asleep!!!

Thanks again.

Happy Thanksgiving all!!!

Niecie, great observation about an explosive roll in the hay clearing the cobwebs out of Alejandra's brain. I think you're onto something there.

I am so glad poor Abelardo now has someone else he can share his grief with, in addition to Dora. Alejandra will counsel him about family matters that Dora can't help on.

I got a box of cranberries at the store and saw on Food Network Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa recipe for "Cranberry Conserve," which she apparently serves every year for decades.

It does look good:

Cranberry Fruit Conserve

Prep Time:
15 min
Inactive Prep Time:
--
Cook Time:
20 min

Level:
Easy

Serves:
4 cups

Ingredients

* 1 (12-ounce) bag of fresh cranberries, cleaned
* 1 3/4 cups sugar
* 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
* 1 orange, zest grated and juiced
* 1 lemon, zest grated and juiced
* 3/4 cup raisins
* 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions

Cook the cranberries, sugar, and 1 cup of water in a saucepan over low heat for about 5 minutes, or until the skins pop open. Add the apple, zests, and juices and cook for 15 more minutes. Remove from the heat and add the raisins and nuts. Let cool, and serve chilled.

Thanks Jeri for the recap and Happy Thanksgiving everybody. JJ and Alex sure coutldn't contain themselves could they. They were caught up in the whirlwind of passion.

I too wondered what the censors covered when JJ dropped his briefs. Could he have shown his full monty perhaps?

While those two were falling all over each other in the hallway and undressing, a thought came to my mind that if they were security cameras around they certainly got an eyeful.

I felt bad for Elsa when a disheveled JJ showed up at the door still in an obvious state of afterglow. She was definitely disgusted with him. I think she should just move on with her life and especially since Mauricio is very much interested in her.

I see another Carlos beatdown coming with the way he keeps antagonizing David. Let's hope he doesn't fly into another jealous rage at Gabi.

Stupid Bertha doesn't realize that that pic of Gabi wearing The Shoes is the one Adolfo wanted destroyed and the one Leo is looking for.

Thank you for the recap, the pictures and the recipe! :)

I loved the El Presidente line (among many others).

Happy Thanksgiving and good night to everyone. For me it was Harry Potter day, the newest movie is great (though it has flaws). I wish the others were just as good as this.

Vivi:
since everyday with family and friends is a day to give thanks

Thanks! That's so true. :)

We've found an alternate recapper for Friday Llena. Hope everybody had a Happy Thanksgiving. I sure did.

Thank you so much for your recap and pictures Jeri!

JJ and Ale have SO MUCH chemistry. I loved that megakiss infront of the elevator. Poor guy was going to burst before getting to the room. I've fanwanked that the censors covered JJ's briefs because some part of his naughty bits must have been shown and they didn't realize until they edited the scene and it was to late to tape it again. Otherwise there's no real reason for that.

Carlos is like a little stubborn boy and David is a grumpy little boy. I feel like I'm watching two five year olds when they are in any scene together.

I feel really sorry for Ale because she lost her dear uncle. The two of them had a very special relationship and I'm going to miss it. Days ago when Faustiago avoided her hug and kiss I felt awful for her too, even if I knew he only did it to avoid getting caught. I also hated when he likened her to Bertha when he called both of them harpys.

Aribeth: Wasn't the new movie great? I loved it. I started reading Harry Potter when I was 12 and I still get excited for every film.

Jarocha

By the way: Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all are spending a great evening right now.

Jarocha:
I started reading Harry Potter when I was 12 and I still get excited for every film.

Absolutely! I started to read the books on the summer of 2000 when I was 17. I finished HP and the Scorcerer's Stone in one day and the first thing I did next morning was to buy the second novel. In 2005, after reading the sixth book in English I was so frustrated that I couldn't discuss it with anyone that I registrated to a HP forum, and this is how my online life as "Aribeth" began. :)
So many sweet memories.

Hmm, have I mentioned yet that I'd met the awesome Jason "Lucius Malfoy" Isaacs and the beautiful Viggo Mortensen? :) They made a movie in Budapest 3 years ago and a year later we sneaked in the premiere and the press conference. Jason immediately realized we were the fanbase - it wasn't hard, in the cinema there were 30-40 journalist, a bunch of local celebs (who disappeared soon) and four glowing, stupidly grinning young women. So he came to us to talk a little bit and to make photos. We gave him two bracelets that he and Viggo were wearing all evening.

Aribeth: That's amazing that you started to be active online because of Harry Potter, I guess we have one more thing to thank that saga for: your prescence in this site :).

I tried getting into online fandom but Harry Potter fans are so intense! They are great but some of the shipper wars are exhausting. I like basically all the characteres and tend to be more into cannon couples (although I do have a soft spot for Harry/Luna and Snape/Lilly) and some of the criticisms were wearing me out a little so I've mostly kept myself out of the main sites, although I do feel out of the loop most times. I was the only geeky girl who saw "In Bruges" at the theater and got excited when I noticed that Fleur Delacour, Moody and Voldemor were all in it, then I went searching online to see who had noticed and saw it was already oooold news.

How awesome that you met Jason Isaacs! He is such a wonderful actor and he was looking quite gorgeous in the latest film with that dishelved look Lucius was carrrying. He is such a handsome man. I still remember him playing both Wendy's father and Captain Hook on Peter Pan hehe. I'm glad that you also got to meet Viggo, I have a friend who adores him after the Lord of The Rings trilogy.

Jarocha

Jeri, I so enjoyed your very descriptive recap of this hot episode.

I haven't seen that many novelas but this has to be one of the most original and amusing bits of foreplay ever...kissing, rolling around, stripping of garments all the way down the hall. By viewing You Tube, J J had on the red briefs but it seems they went off with his pants so the fuzzying was necessary for prudish Uni of course. Oh, and most of Ale/J J scenes at the beginning of Part 3 were cut out by Uni. We see Ale exiting the bathroom in her robe and J J pulling her onto the bed with him on top. Then commercial and that's it. The next scene is at Mario's. Uni's scissors at work again.

Too bad Gabi never had a chance to tell David about the missing photos because by his look of incredulity as Jeri's states and of complete impactada his mind is probably cooking up scenarios with Gabi and Carlos again. At least she has Julieta to validate that they searched for the photos and that they had disappeared from the bedroom if that will help in any way with David. So Gabi and David were happy for what...one night... before Bertha/Carlos caused more trouble.

GinCA

Vivi, thank you so much for clarifying how Adolfo had the ring that Roberto had. I thought that Felix had not given it to Adolfo and was still on his person waiting to be found. I viewed the episode again and now it makes sense to me. I don't like looking at any type of violence and so I usually FF past those scenes. Now I know why I was so confused about who had what ring and how.

Margaret

Newbie, thank you to you as well for explaining the history of the rings/cufflinks. I read Vivi's post and commented then went further down and saw your post.

Margaret
