Llena de Amor #73 (Mex. 78) Tue 11/23/10 A flight of fancy for our lovedoves.

Well, folks, I’ve had an unexpected day off from work thanks to a blizzard that left us with all of maybe an inch of snow…on top of an inch of ice. I’m all rested up and ready for some HEAT. Let’s hope our saucy characters will deliver.
Overlapping from yesterday, Emiliano chucks some things, but not some underthings, into his suitcase and angrily leaves Fedra. Bernardo tries to get Fedra to calm down and not lose control. She says she wants Mauricio dead and she doesn’t care how. Lowrenzo smarms into the bedroom wanting a private moment with the viper, which grosses out even Spiderus. Low and Fedra work themselves into a very compromising position in time for Kristel to walk in.
Kristel is horrified to discover that her mother is such a filthy slut she doesn’t even have the decency to go to a cheap hotel. Low smoothly says this can all be explained. “Great,” says Kristel, “let’s go tell it to my dad and see what he thinks.” Fedra tries to threaten her but Kristel says she’s no longer in a position to make any demands, and she’d better get off Agent Orange’s case! Kristel huffs out. Low is just worried about this getting back to Ilitia. Fedra is more worried about Emiliano, because she thinks he’s just throwing a tantrum, not really leaving her, and Fedra needs to stay married to his bank account.
In an office at the prison, Brandon and Oliver growl and hiss at Mauricio. Brandon tells him if he doesn’t cooperate with them, they’ll make sure he stays in prison the rest of his life. This is your only chance, take it or leave it. They tell him Caimán is also an informant. Now why on earth would they tell him that?
Paula wonders what Máximo is hiding from her. Axel comes into the kitchen, mad because he can’t find a jacket he wants to wear. Paula tells him Delicia must have washed it so maybe she knows where it is. Axel’s irate that Delicia not only meddles in his life but also doesn’t do her job. He stomps off to find her.
Over at Netty’s, talk over breakfast is about the latest shooting. They are amazed that the General left the basement after so many years. Mari says he must have been seriously mad. She’s worried that now Fedra will manage to get Don Máximo locked up in a manicomio. “That will never happen,” beams Emanuel, striding in and greeting Mari with hugs and kisses. Netty studiously ignores them.
Delicia’s just out of the shower and wrapped in a towel. She goes to the very bare closet and, as Axel walks up to the window and looks in, drops the towel and puts on a bra. He goes bug-eyed and ducks out of sight. Then he sneaks another peek.
Emanuel and Mari (Em&M) fly the coop, but not before the mother hens try to stop them, saying Mari is sick. She insists she feels much better. Emanuel says an outing will be good for her, and besides, he’ll be there in case she has another spell. Doris says why don’t you just ask Marianela directly; this isn’t a kermés. They head out and Netty and Gladiola are not pleased.
Kristel and Ilitia dine in the garden. Ilitia tries to provide comfort regarding the shocking divorce. She also wants Kristel to forgive Muñeca for accusing Fedra and Lowrenzo of being lovers, because that’s just crazy. “Yeah, super crazy! I mean, can you even imagine the two of them together? Please!” Kristel cagily replies. But she’s still mad at Ilitia for the nasty accusations against Mauricio. Eventually they come to a shaky détente and hug, while Nereida glares from the doorway.
Axel’s sitting on his bed, reading Caray Caray or something on his little computer. Delicia comes in with his jacket. He asks her to bring him some breakfast. “Sure, do you want mango juice, your favorite?” she asks. “You know what I like? What else do I like?” he asks. “For breakfast, huevos rancheros with salsa muy picante,” she says. “Aha, so I like it spicy,” he teases, walking over to her. “Know what else I like? YOU!” Delicia spins around, startled, and he plants a big kiss on her. It’s all good for about half a second, until Lorena walks in.
Fedra skulks into Kristel’s room and says they need to clarify what happened. “Great, I’ve been eagerly awaiting your lame excuse. What have you come up with?” Fedra says Lowrenzo kissed her by force. “Brava! Nice try! I don’t believe you. Come back when you have a better story.” Kristel snaps that either Mauricio gets out of prison, or this bit of gossip gets out to the whole world. Fedra lamely tries the “you will respect me because I’m your mother” thing, but no dice.
Bernardo visits Caimán in prison and tells him to off Mauricio.
Em&M sit on a park bench, smoochy-smoochy. Em says if it weren’t for Mari, he’d never be able to tolerate everything that’s happening. He might not even be Emiliano’s son! It all seems like a bad dream. Mari says to just not think about it, then. She makes him promise that whatever happens, their feelings for each other will never change. They see some doves and Mari thinks it would be awesome to be a bird, flying freely in the sky. Emanuel drags her away for more surprises.
Emiliano visits Netty and tells her he’s left Fedra para siempre and asked for a divorce. “Are you crazy?” Netty asks. “Yes. Crazy with looooove for you. I want to marry you,” he says. Well, he doesn’t waste time.
Lorena chases Delicia around and around Axel’s room, yelling at her for trying to seduce her novio. Delicia finally runs out the door. Axel settles back down with his computer, not particularly interested in this drama. Lorena asks him why he was kissing the maid. “I don’t know what’s going on. I think we should take a break,” he says. Lorena doesn’t think that’s necessary. They’ll just forget the whole thing. She decides he needs a massage and a roll in the hay to relax. He goes along with it, because that’s how he’s programmed these days. Delicia pokes her head back in and sees them and thinks to herself that nasty Lorena is taking advantage of him, but he doesn’t seem to mind.
Netty tries to throw Emiliano out and get him to patch things up with his family, but he says no way. And by the way, the kids already know that he’s in love with Netty. She thinks they must hate her. She could never separate a man from his (adult, able to visit their dad wherever he may be, oops, except for Gretel, because Mom has her locked up) children! Never!
Em&M ride the motorcycle thing way out into the country somewhere. Why didn’t he drive his car? What if Mari did get sick again? She’d have to ride back to town hanging onto him, all dizzy? Brilliant. They stop and Emanuel gets out a chocolate and tries to feed it to her from his teeth. She doesn’t want to eat it. She likes that she’s losing weight and doesn’t want to backtrack. He tells her the chocolates he gave her were sugar-free, but he likes her just the way she is. Of course it is all about him. Mari thinks he will like her even better thin, but Emanuel says he just wants to take care of her and spend their whole long lives together. That calls for some kissing.
Emiliano is still trying to convince Netty to be happy with him, but she’s still being a melodrama queen about it. “I wanted you so much, but our time has already passed. Please leave my house forever.” He’s crushed, but he leaves. Netty cries.
“No one blackmails me, especially not a silly girl like you!” Fedra snarls at Kristel. “You keep your mouth shut, or I’ll…” “You’ll what? Hit me? Go ahead!” “No te pego, te pago (I won’t hit you, I’ll pay you),” says Fedra. She grins desperately and asks how much Kristel wants. A new car? A vacation anywhere? “A trip sounds super cool, but I just want Mauricio.” “No. Not him. Anything but him.” “MAURICIO.” “After what he did to you?” “That wasn’t his fault. I was the one who was stupid enough to get pregnant.” “But now you’re empty, and you’ll never have children.” “And Mauricio wants to marry me anyway. Do you want me to be alone? No way, Mommy dearest. I will not let you destroy my life. I will destroy yours first. Get Mauricio out of jail, or everyone will hear what I know.” Hmm. There’s still some room in the wine cellar, I think. Time for some sisterly bonding?
Mauricio congratulates Garduño on his final day in prison. Garduño promises that his lawyer will get Mauricio out, and then Mauricio will work for him, as they agreed. Mauricio has a business idea, but he says they’ll discuss it later.
Em takes M for a hike through the fields. They stop and he says he has something important to ask her, but he’s waiting for a very special moment. He covers her eyes and they walk about ten more meters to a tiny aircraft she somehow didn’t see before. André appears and swears he has no idea what this is about, though he clearly does. Emanuel suits up and gets in the ultralight plane despite Mari’s protests about the danger.
Mauricio plays games with some other prisoner and apparently plans to double-cross Garduño. Other prisoner tells him to be careful; Garduño’s bad side is not the side to be on. Caimán puts a knife to Mauricio’s throat and tells him he’s going to die today, Fedra’s orders.
Emanuel flies around and shows off while Mari and André watch. He does some skywriting…”Te amo Gordita” inside a heart. Okay, let’s just believe he has these skills. How romantic. I still don’t think “Gordita” is an adequate term of endearment, but whatever.
Dandy rescues Mauricio from Caimán. Mauricio tells everyone that Caimán is a pólice informant. Caimán and Dandy fight. Caimán still wants to kill Mauricio, but Mauricio says we’ll see about that. He gets the knife and stabs Caimán. Later, gator.
Mari remembers a conversation with her classmates at school, dreaming about novios appearing like magic out of the sky like birds of fire. There was maybe an excess of poetry classes or an excess of hallucinogens at that school. Emanuel lands and Mari runs over to him. André runs off and Emanuel pulls out a ring and asks Marianela to marry him. They’re standing out in the rain now, so you know it’s going to be a romantic moment. She accepts. They’re both over the moon.
Dandy tells Mau that now that he’s killed someone, there’s no way he’ll be freed. Fedra has other loyal subjects in prison, and if she wants him dead, he won’t survive the night. Mau sweats bullets.
Emanuel wants to go back to the house and tell everyone they’re getting married. Mari knows that’s a bad idea but I guess he talks her into it.
Emanuel has called ahead, and the family members and staff who haven’t fled or been imprisoned are gathered in the parlor, Axel disgustingly snuggly with Lorena. Emanuel and Mari walk in and wonder where Emiliano is. Fedra says he’s an actor now, making a pirate movie called 9 ½ Weeks with Tia Netty. Emanuel announces that he and Marianela are going to be married. Axel looks vaguely disgusted. Delicia is thrilled. Fedra bites her tongue. Kristel goes on a long vicious rant. Benigno defends Mari. Lorena snarks that Mari will look like a snowman all dressed in white. Axel says he can’t believe his brother is marrying some witch who’s out to ruin their family. Well, good, they all have their wedding toasts rehearsed. Marianela tells Axel he’s crazy. “Mom! Do something!” Axel yelps. So Fedra tells the servants to fetch glasses and champagne. Of course she wants to welcome Mari as a daughter-in-law! Emanuel acts like it makes complete sense that his mother now loves Marianela. Fedra puts on a big show of making peace with Mari. Marianela looks very reluctant to go along with this.
Caimán gets zipped into a body bag. The authorities demand to know who killed him. The prisoners all look away and whistle.
Axel is confused by Fedra’s sudden change of attitude. Fedra just goes on with the show. Kristel slews another torrent of size-related insults. Mari pretends she believes Fedra. Emanuel returns with a fancy box of chocolates for Mari. Kristel throws a little tantrum.
Elsewhere, Muñeca yells at Lowrenzo. She’s completely fed up with him and she’s only keeping up the farce of their marriage for Ilitia’s sake. Low asks her why she isn’t just happy. She says it’s because she hasn’t followed his example. She should have found an amante of her own. “Who would want you with that attitude?” he mutters after she leaves his office. Then the “distraction” Garduño sent arrives, in shiny tight packaging.
Em&M tell Tio Máximo that they plan to marry and want his blessing. Max says he won’t stand in the way of their happiness and they can count on him completely. But he tells them that the only hope for this house and this family is for them to refound it.
Oliver has Mauricio in the office again, and remarks on how odd it is that the report states Mauricio didn’t even know the guy who died. Mau insists he knows nothing. “I’m losing patience! Talk!” Mau reluctantly “admits” that Caimán died defending him. “There’s a price on my head in the prison, and the guy was trying to kill me.”
Poor Gretel’s hands are still tied behind her back. She’s pacing the cellar, hearing bits of Luis Felipe’s and Fedra’s argument and begging the voices to stop talking to her. Fedra comes in and asks her what’s wrong. “You’re not Fedra. You’re Juana Felipa Pérez,” says Gretel.
Avances: The pensión crowd and Ilitia get the news of the impending wedding. Kristel has some plan to get rid of Marianela forever.
Caimán – in addition to meaning alligator, is also slang for a schemer. Good nickname for our double (triple?) agent!

Haha! Later, gator...that's brilliant. And kind of sick. Good on ya Julia. Like Diana said, Caiman served many masters and was loyal to none; not a good recipe for protection.

Hard luck on the blizzard but at least it got you a day off from work.

What? Gretel played all her cards and Fedra knows what she knows? Dang! I knew she would do something stupid like that.

I agree with you Sylvia, Gretel was stupid to let Fedra know what she knows. Poor demented baby, thinking that telling Fedra the truth will somehow help her.

Now that Emanuel and Marianela are engaged, Ilitia is sure to put together a nasty plan to separate them. From the advances, it's obvious that Kristel is part of that plan. Those two are nasty pieces of work. One thing we know for sure, Kristel has to be Fedra's daughter. The apple does not fall far from the tree.

Cute title, Julia and a perfect one for an episode that was "an overdose of cute" in Carlos' words.

I just couldn't get into the force feeding of chocolates, surprise engagement ring and sky-writing last night. Reminded me too much of Tonta's skydiving engagement-ring giving, also with Valentino Lanus. As they say on STuD, fast forward!

Loved your suggestion for Kristel that "there's still some room in the wine cellar. Time for some sisterly bonding?"

And my other favorite was after the round of insults to poor Marianela, you quiped, "Well, good they all have their wedding toasts rehearsed."

Very funny.

Nice touch on the "caimán" definitions as well. Sorry to see him go. In spite of the overly dark Grecian Formula they put on his hair, I thought Caiman was rather cute. Looked good in handcuffs.

Thanks for the recap Julia. Do you have bad weather (blizzards) often in your area? Well, glad you got the day off.

Yeah, Axel likes Delicia!! Now that this seed has been planted I wonder how long it will take to bloom.

The only consolation regarding Gretel is that she most likely won't die but I can't bear to see her continuously tormented. Perhaps Julia is right and awful Kristel will her and free her. Free Gretel.

Judy - thanks for mentioning the repetitive nature of the engagement scene. I too thought Tontas.

Does anyone know of a website where I could view this episode? Thanks in advance

Winter sure is rearing its head early this year. Sorry you had to deal with the snow and ice already Julia, but a day off work is a nice trade-off. Weird weather seemed to be the topic of the day - loved how it was raining with Eman and Mari and nice bright sunshine back at the ranch.

Judy, I sort of have to go with you on not really loving how Eman decided to propose. The whole sky-writing could have been cute, but for a guy who thought of Luis Fonsi and a romantic dinner for their first date, I would have hoped better. Ah well...And I sure wish they would just cut the blasted chocolates already.

Loved Kristel actually blasting Fedra. What's a mother to do? Axel gets his memory back, she's going to have to expand the wine cellar.
(Too bad Kristel's demand is getting Agent O back.)

And we have the set up for Axel and Delicia...YES!

Off to make my starving sons home from college last night some breakfast. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Julia, I thought of you yesterday because our VP of Ops was set to fly to Seattle yesterday morning. When he showed back up at work he told me his meeting was cancelled because our customer couldn't make it to work. I wondered if you experienced the same thing. Is a blizzard unusual for your area?

I wonder why Ilitia is so insistent about maintaining her friendship with Kristel? If it were me I would back off and give K some space, maybe forever. I can't imagine they're going to have a very warm friendship. And what about when Agent O gets out of jail? What's Ilitia going to do then? Just all hang out together?

Maybe what Barbara suggested, that in order for the nasty separation of M&Em to work the two fresas have to team up, at least for a while. Kristel did seem an awful lot like Fedra last night. Sheesh.

Maybe Ilitia is drawn to Kristel because of the "call of the blood". Now that we know Fedra and Low have been having their affair since way back when, Low could be Kristel's father, making them sisters. I once again wonder who is Ilitia's mom.

I have not see the episode yet, but since I'm "working from home" today, I just might watch my recording now. :) In the meantime, thank you for the fun read Julia. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all our Caraymates out there!

Julia, stay safe and warm.
Excellent and hilarious recap. Later Gator... great.

I had thought that Caiman was on the bubble, but I didn't expect his último adiós quite so soon. Just further demonstrates how cheap life is on this TN.

Hasn't Axel become quite the insufferable little puke? I much preferred the uncertain maybegay he was before.

I love the idea of Cristal and Gretel as winecavemates. They can do some long overdue sisterly bonding as they plot a finale for Fedra.

Karen, here is a source for this episode.

Vivi, I was thinking the same thing vabout Ilitia and Cristal last night.

Carlos

I thought this proposal was way too saccharine but I didn't want to spew my unromantic crabbiness all over the recap. Poor Valentino Lanús, he really seems to be trying to expand his acting range, yet the writers keep giving him the same stuff to do. At least he isn't saying "no está sexy" all the time.

Yay Axel! Progress! Now run with that; spend lots of time with Delicia getting help remembering stuff and fall in love with her in the process. How has no one told Axel how much he hated Lorena before he got beat up?

Blizzards are quite rare here. Even snow doesn't happen in the city more than a few times per winter and it usually doesn't stick more than a day or two. People from snowier places always make fun of us because of the way we just shut down when there's barely any snow, but the problem isn't the quantity, it's that it turns directly to ice on the streets, and Seattle doesn't think it's worth investing in equipment and crews to deal with a couple days of snow per year. Plus, it's really hilly here, so it's just too dangerous to drive. Buses and cars were sliding all over and lots of people trying to drive home Monday night just abandoned their cars because they couldn't go up hills and whatnot. It's a mess. Things are looking a little better today although it's still really cold.

It took me 2 1/2 hours to travel 5 or 6 miles home on Monday, and the wind was over 40 mph so it was super cold even with tons of clothes on when I was waiting for a bus, so I thought it wasn't worth trying that again.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Stay warm and safe.

Julia, as always, you entertain and delight the soul! Thanks for the stellar read since I don’t have immediate access to Univision! Dozens of belly-laughs for my bedtime reading….

“Axel’s sitting on his bed, reading Caray Caray or something on his little computer.” Julia, this has to be one of the all-time funniest lines I have ever read in a recap!

Anyone wanna make book on exactly how many times Netty can tell Emil to leave her house forever before he finally convinces her it’s futile?

“There’s still some room in the wine cellar, I think. Time for some sisterly bonding?” LOL! Okay, here’s an ancestry.com puzzle for us all. What relationship will they really be if Gretel’s Max’s lost daughter?

“Mauricio has a business idea, but he says they’ll discuss it later.” Mauricio has never had one single idea in his whole vacuous life.

“Emanuel flies around and shows off while Mari and André watch. He does some skywriting…”Te amo Gordita” inside a heart. Okay, let’s just believe he has these skills.” LOL. Didn’t the entire “Tontas” novela start with Val Lanus and Jackie Bracamontes doing this exact stunt? Or, maybe it was darn similar.

“He gets the knife and stabs Caimán. Later, gator.” ROTFLLLLLLL on the other hand, this could be the wittiest line I’ve ever read in a recap.

Stay warm and dry, Julia, and everyone have a wonderful, restful Thanksgiving.

Jeanne
