Triunfo del Amor #109 5/11/11 Max Has A New Identity Crisis
[This is a repost of last Wednesday's which was lost and then returned yesterday, but only as a draft. Sorry the comments seem to have been lost during the repairs done to the system. To avoid losing it again, would somebody who sees this please post to the feed/sidebar for me? Thanks! --ed.]
As we begin the nightly chagrin, Max has come to speak with Leonela at Guillermo’s place and has gallantly offered to cover her expenses and provide her a decent place to live rather than have her beholden to the man who feigned friendship for decades and then stole half-ownership in a theater and a fortune from his father. To make matters worse, his mama and Gui tell him that he’s their love-child. Duhn-duhn-duhnnnnn! --And y’all thought you had problems!

I actually thought Alonso said he was quoting St. Augustine when he preached those pieties about love and suffering to Maria yaNoD. But when I looked it up, all I could find was Woody Allen “To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering, one must not love. etc."
"as he stares over at Maria sitting all lovey-dovey on Max’s lap."—The look on Max's face here was priceless. WL is a master at the eyelid putdown. It was a "Dude" moment indeed.
"JP takes the opportunity to confront her with killing his father"—Mejia drives me nuts with these critical scenes involving life & death bombshells and no followup. I mean all Dementa did was flatten the wrinkle once or twice.
"Lon is in the park doing what he does best, snapping candid photos of people, "—Uh, these are children, and in this country at least you could be arrested for that. Where are the parents? Obviously he's never heard of obtaining a release, or even just asking permission.
LXV, I also heard Alonso say he was quoting St. Augustine. ¡A fuego! We've switched up the Pedantometer a bit since everyone was intoning portentously about playing with fire and getting burned. :-)
There is not a lot to say about last night it was so over the top - if we could harness all of the BS we could power the world for at least a century.
Tonight we should see BSCX in action hope at Gui's place.

Interesting hospitals in Mexico....staff never checks on patients, at least in the case of Ox and now XI. You may be escorted in, but once you are in, you are on your own.
Pity Naty and all the soccer games ahead of her!!
And don't you just want to punch the padre for withholding the names from Victoria and Maria?
Was anyone else wondering whether Ximeana murdered her mother? She is certainly capable of it and I think the writers are somewhat behind in terms of body count.
She might be the one to murder Leonela -- which would make some logical sense -- and Gui tries to frame Osvaldo for the crime. However, we're not close enough to the end for that because Gui would then murder Xi. I'm wondering why he doesn't propose a menage a trois.
Since Leonela is a consummate liar I'm still not buying the idea that Gui is the progenitor of Max.
Having JP talk about the murder of his father without a rejoinder from Dona Dementa didn't make sense either. It would not surprise me if she would decide somewhere prior to the finale that he should die for failing to bring her salvation. If the writers allowed that to happen I'd spit fire.
You FF>> in the same places I would have--but since I was watching in real time, I couldn't--even though the first time the barrio folks lined up at the dance hall I tried desperately.
Semi-OT. I turned to the Jon Stewart, Daily Show after TDA, and I was surprised to read that the HD version is brought to us by---Kayak!! Where is TDA's kayak, anyway? Don't they know we watch the whole hour just to see Wm in the kayak?
Poor Lon. He hasn't done anything except make a nuisance of himself, spend loads of money on flowers, take hundreds of pictures of M no longer D, took over the care and feeding of a pregnant MD, fight with Max, get Maria a terrific job in a successful commercial and this is his reward?
Passed out in the park? In our town, most people would step over him as a hopeless drunk--and steal his camera first. I hope someone cares enough to call an ambulance.

No morals, no scruples and murderers to boot! Gui and Lonnie -ain't love grand. Sigh.

Over on Teresa, Paolo was in intensive care, just flatlined, Aida was screaming and going crazy and nary a doctor to be seen...until Aida busted out of the intensive care doors into the hallway and started screaming.
Well, I guess I'm supposed to feel guilty now that Alonzo has conked out. Actually... I don't. It is fascinating, however. I can't think of a medical condition that causes obsessive stalking and blackouts. Hmmm...
Wow, that JuanJo is certainly the charmer. Surely they won't have Naty ending up with him. I'd prefer seeing him paired up with one of the ladies from Veracruz.
Leonela... hey crazy lady, may I buy you a drink?

Yeah! folks, I just love some of your comments and agree with them. I too don't think Guillermo is Max's real father. I think Leonela is totally lying to benefit herself. I don't think she really loves Guillermo - she is just using him. Her whole motivation to reappearing in Max and Osvaldo's life is revenage.
Leonela - everything that happened to her is her own fault. She seem to not have been faithful to Osvaldo. We know she cheated him with two men, for one of them is Guillermo and the other is the lover she killed. She is stupid - what did she expected of Osvaldo when she cheated on him. Lots of people would just do as Osvaldo did let her stay in jail. She is delusional if she thinks differently.
All of you are right - these people don't talk to each other about the important stuff and let the evil people get away with lots of stuff or pull another one over them. they need to use your brains. And total for sure, the hospitals in Mexico seem to not pay attentions to their patients and check on their patients.
Let's see what transpires tonight with these crazy people and sociopaths. We will all be shaking our heads.

And what about Maria-ya-no-D. She hasn't thought for a second about repeating what crazy Ji said about lil Os really being lil Gui? Aaagh these writers drive me nuts. This TN is a runaway train.
Also, for those of you that are fans of historical novelas, the one that just started this week on Telefutura, "La Pola" is really, really, good.
I've been nothing more than a lurker lately here on CarayCaray, but I wanted to say thanks to all the recappers and to tell you all how much I enjoy reading the comments. I never fail to have a LOL moment at my desk every morning thanks to all of you!

BNinCA
he so does not belong in this novela. such a bothersome kind of guy and that is not a turn on for me...too bad he passed out...but he needs to stay out.....
One way to get Leonela out of their lives is to call the police & report her for attempted murder. But alas, that is never done in a Mejia novela. The police must have a lot of doughnut time in Mex, since no one ever calls them.
DNA, DNA, DNA
If Leonela was screwing around with 3 men, how does she know who the father is, call Maury Povich.

AgnesNJ: Woody Allen? Now that's deep!

Newbie: "Passed out in the park? In our town, most people would step over him as a hopeless drunk--and steal his camera first." LOL!

Genevieve and Melissa: Welcome!

I am amazed that everyone is still hiding the truth about little Os from Max. As much as I dislike the character I wouldn't blame him in the least for being pissed when the truth will inevitably come out. I'm bored with the excuse that we are just protecting him/her that is being overused in TDA. We are talking about adults here not a bunch of preteens, even tho some of them do act like it.
I too was surprised that Bernie didn't rip into JP when he mentioned her killing his father. I also have to wonder what in the he*l kind of priest refuses to report her crimes to the police. This from the man who so sanctimoniously keeps the secret of the confessional from telling Vic about their child. Surely he didn't learn all of his mothers sins in the confessional. While he like to present himself as so upright he is actually a coward in much the same way as Os is.
Here's hoping loser Lon has bought the farm from some sudden incurable illness. God forbid that he is ill and we end up with some of those endless hospital scenes while Maria D hovers over him in pity and guilt for leading him on. I can almost feel it coming. LOL
Dani
I just really love William Levy. his facial expressions are just priceless. he is too good for this tn.
Os and Vic should pretend not to have known this but that would not occur to either of them. Except if Fer knows (I don't remember) that wouldn't work either.
Dona Dementa may have admitted to JP that she killed his father, but I'm sure she would deny it to the police. This is why Fausto and Eva are looking for material evidence.
"tough tootsie-pops!" I would like to restate that wonderful expression to just about everyone in this TN. I've never met a bigger bunch of dunce-heads. Thank goodness for the likes of Fer (now) and Fab. These two should end up together - only two with sense right now.
Even PJP, though so wonderful on the eyes, gets me steamed with all the platitudes. He should do the charade bit everytime these nut jobs copme close in guessing what's really going on. Finger to nose and point!!
Carlos - what is it with you and bad girls? Hmmmmm? Leo certainly isn't hiding the fact that she is a bitchy back-stabber. No way to win over your son my dear. Going to love to see who eventually does her in, how and why. She's got everyone after her now!
Alonso may have been a pest, but he was there for MD when she needed someone, so really don't want to see the guy kick the bucket. Maybe he'll meet a nice nurse? (If someone finds him).
And my favorite moment of the night - Nati hands little JP to JJ and that angel, who has been a trooper and NEVER cried for anyone, suddenly goes into lip-quiver mode and starts to fuss. My little hero. We agree with you totally.
