Alborada, 6/28/2011. Cap. 21.

Today's episode is covered in Melinama's Recap #6 at this link.

On YouTube, haguilar78's clips for Cap 21 start at this link.

Thank you, Carlos, for today's picture. We chicas like looking at cute guys, and it doesn't get much cuter than that!

Paula, I was really taken by that scene. Too bad the logo is located where it is. It is partially obscuring the big hand (guess whose) that is holding the little hand.

Carlos

This is the first time this kid has been so animated, FC must have had a puppy out of view. Well I would smile too if he came to see me, sigh, suspiros, ahhhhh.

Tks so much PaulaH

So glad you put in this picture Carlos. This little guy had me entranced throughout the whole telenovela. He is wonderfully natural and rambunctious. Seems to respond well to all the actors and appears to take a special delight in Colunga. Well, who wouldn't. Absolutely the most entrancing child actor I've ever seen.

Wow, what an absolutely perfect screen shot. So cute!! The scene with Luis and Rafael was very touching. I loved it when they touched heads.

But poor little Rafael, everyone wants to nab him.

I love the regidor's dogs!! The scene with el regidor and wife was a scream.

The final scene with Luis and Juana was very interesting. When she said Diego was jealous of her affection for Luis he looked very pleased, poor guy. So I gather she explained to Luis that Diego is a major screw-up in the business and she wants Luis's help to get the businesses back in shape? I also liked it when he told her that his son doesn't need a title, just his name.

Ahhhh...You've got to love a guy who's good with kids and animals. That scene was wonderful. Seeing the smiles on both of those guaypo faces was heartwarming. Now, I'm going to take a nap....My company just left , and I'm exhausted. We toured Martin Guitar yesterday..lots of walking on cement floors.

Woohoo! All caught up. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up after this. Here are my Deep Thoughts:

- Felipe's hair isn't working for me. There was a scene in today's or yesterday's episode when he was turning his head back and forth, with his hair flopping around behind him, and I really, really wanted to cut it. Or put it in a ponytail.

- I thought Perla was pretty cool at first, but now she sounds like a jealous girl in middle-school.

- I need a mnemonic to help me keep track of which one is Marcos and which one is Martin and which one is the son and which one isn't. I know it's not rocket science, and I've checked the list of characters a million times, but it's not sticking in my brain!

And one more Deep Thought, but I'm serious about this one:

I hate hate hate that Luis has been leaning on such a lame excuse not to tell Hipo that he's the Mystery Boinker. (Especially now that virtually everyone else in town knows!) I hate when this happens in other telenovelas and soaps, too.

This thing is so well written, otherwise, that I'm actually kind of shocked by this weakness. It'd be one thing if someone agreed with Luis, but nobody does.

I mean, maybe Luis is right and she'd hate him even if he told her it was him. But if he doesn't tell her, she's going to hear it from the guy who sprays the shoes at the bowling alley or something, and then she's going to be REALLY mad.

She didn't like it when he lied to her about having a(nother) kid, so how does he expect her to react when she finds out he's been lying about this?? It just defies all logic!

Julie~~~There always seems to be a lot of lying in novelas. We all know that Luis not revealing himself to Hip as The Mystery Boinker of Santa Rita is going to come back and bite him in his adorable bum. As for the Marcos/Martin confusion, maybe you could think of Marcos [Luis's bodyguard and Felipe's foster child] as always ''on the mark'' in his devotion to both those hombres and MarTIN as having a ''tin ear'' concerning his refusal to listen to Luis/Felipe/Marcos about backing off from Hip. I know thst's lame, but it's 11.43 , and I'm on my way to bed.

I loved the picture and I loved the first meeting of father and child. FC must have spent a lot of time off camera playing airplane with that kid to get such a big smile from him when he entered.

From the original recaps, it doesn't seem that Melinama was so impressed with this tiny actor. Although a calm kid, I think he's shown lots of personality and seems to interact well with all the actors. He was having great fun jumping up and down on the bed in an earlier scene with Lucero, he recoiled from Francisco (that's the name of the abusive stepdad right) and called out for his mommy just a few episodes ago, I'm convinced it was him and not a doll comfortably curled up on Lucero's breasts earlier, and in yesterday's episode he was having a grand time playing with Isabel's sparkly purse (who wouldn't?).

I like that this tn doesn't shy away from the facts of the privilege of money. No, Luis didn't get out of trouble through fighting the just fight against the system. He and those who love him used the privileges of money and class to get him off. Very realistic.

Me too! I'm in love with the little guy. He brings so much to the novela. I think key actors do spend a lot of time with him off camera so the child feels connections with them.

The scene with Luis was amazing. Loved the child pushing away the sheer bed curtains.

For those of you who saw Amor Real. I don’t know if you remember, Manuel and Matilde’s child when it was a baby. It’ll be crying his head off and any time Manuel (Colunga) pick him up, he’ll stop crying. I always found that interesting. Anybody else would pick him up and automatically he’ll start crying. In yesterday’s episode someone asked Marcos if he ever sleeps. I was wondering the same thing. The guy is up all night guarding the house, working all day either grooming horses or buying food, or being Luis’s bodyguard, etc. The first time around I didn’t think Luis treated him right. This time I feel the same way. But it might be because I am partial to Marcos. While everybody is in love with Luis, I am in love with Marcos. And Carlos superb work with the pictures. I remember Melinama and the rest always commenting about Rafael's actions or inactions and for the most part they were right. At times it seems the little one is drugged or something.

Interesting comments. Sue~~~I am a big fan of Marcelo Cordoba [Marcos], too, and I love the character Marcos. He is such a boyscout..a son who would make any mother proud. I love good guys....I mean good guys in real life. The guys who are thoughtful, loyal, protective, caring. As for the little boy, I think I remember an interview of FC, Carla, Monica, and Edgardo in which FC said that the little boy missed everyone when the production ended because they became a family. I also think I remember hearing that the little boy is Iran Castillo's [Catalina]nephew. When you watch FC interact with children, you can tell that he truly likes kids. That love and appreciation of children is hard to fake. I made the same comment when Melinama recapped originally.

P.S. The boy who played Manuel's son in Amor Real was also in Pasion. He and FC seemed to have a close connection and share the same dark good looks. That little boy has the most beautiful eyes that smile when he smiles....just like FC's.

Susanlynn, please choose whichever option you find more flattering:

1. Thanks for the mnemonic hint! I don't think it's lame at all.

2. Thanks for the mnemonic hint! I think the lamest ones are the most memorable.

As for the kid who plays Rafael - is he the same boy who was Rosario's son in FELS? Because he sort of looks like him. That kid in FELS was a lump. I don't mean that in a harsh way - he just didn't seem to be "into" it, and I hate to think of kids being actors who don't really enjoy it.

Julie~~~I will choose option #2. Also, I think that the little boy playing Rafael was the boy in FELS.
