El Mundo de Telemundo, week of 2/27/12: Discuss Amongst Yourselves!
Labels: barbara, flor-salvaje, relaciones, telemundo
I recently switched tv companies and now have a gazillion channels that I never knew existed including one called "Pasiones". It's all telenovelas all day long and right now they are showing the Spanish-dubbed Brazilian version of El Clon. They are at the point where the adult clone shows up and turns everyone's lives upside down. I've only watched a few episodes but so far, it seems identical to the Telemundo version. I'm still waiting for the actors to knock my socks off ...
Maybe I'll see you folks more often when Corazón Valiente starts.
Ciao!
During the Telemundo broadcast of El Clon, I watched some of the Brazilian version on YouTube trying to see what made people rave about the original and the dialog was almost the same, the incredibly slow moving plot was the same and the actors didn't do it for me. I know people raved about the music but that's not enough for me. Let us know what you think.
Flor and Rafa leave the 4P to go to her casita for some torrid lovemaking. After they leave, Evaristo opines to the petroleros that he thinks Flor Salvaje is a curse for the men she falls in love with, citing Pablo.
Zahra continues to probe her dangerous offspring about Enrique’s whereabouts. He tells him she called his mother, and he’s not in the capital. His response: “Who do you think you are to interfere in my life. Get out!”
Mariano is following the drug truck to the border. If anyone understands better what the heck is doing on with this drug deal, weigh in please. I can’t figure out if the drugs were in the truck and they were supposed to get money at the end of the journey, or vice versa. When the truck is stopped at the border, Mariano jumps out of his SUV and shows them ID, saying he’s the Mayor of Nueva Esperanza, and this truck has something to do with the Mayor’s office. They’re allowed to cross without an inspection.
The truck goes on. Quesada has been following, but Mariano just grins at him and tells him he wasn’t paying attention when M taught him how to follow a vehicle, because he knew he was there all along.
AA chews out Arsenio for being discovered in Enrique’s room.
JM tells Sacto that Cat is still not out of the woods. I wish they’d stop torturing us with her possibly dying.
It turns out Mariano has a two-way radio to communicate with Alicia and Johnny. He tells them someone is following them, and it’s not the cops.
AA is twitchy and mean in the drug shack, not having heard from his trio of amateur traffickers (well, maybe not Johnny). He orders Enrique to eat the leftovers off his plate. I guess he wants him to have strength enough to type another article praising him. He passes some time torturing Enrique by telling him the fact that they haven’t heard must mean that Alicia is dead.
OK, now we get a scene worthy of an action movie. The truck is stopped by a jeep full of rival cartel members. There’s a major balacera (gunfight). The driver of the truck is killed right away. Mariano defends for quite a while, but eventually they come up behind him and that’s it. They open the back of the truck and Johnny stands up to fire. He’s killed immediately, while Alicia sobs in fear.
The glowing story about AA is delivered to the newspaper, and appears in the paper the next day.
Rafa and Flor are very happy after making love. He tells her that she is the light that brought him out of the shadows.
Mina at last decides to give Mr. Peter a roll in the hay. She teases him a bit by holding out in her casa, but eventually he carries her to bed. He tells her, in English, that every inch of her is perfect. She tells him she loves it when he makes love to her in English.
The actually rather reasonable rival narcos tell Mariano and Alicia that they’ve never made moves on NE, not even tried to get to the police. But this is a warning. If their boss tries to take over their territory, they’ll kill everyone who comes. They beat up Mariano, never a bad thing to watch, but leave Alicia unharmed.
Hombre, I should have expanded on my prior comment about Rigoberto and Olga. I also liked their “getting together” scene. I’m afraid my less romantic side took over at the thought of that hard kitchen floor and the possibility of dislodging a pan of hot liquid! Rigo, who was so sullen for most of the novela, has a magnificent smile. He tells her he wants her to be his woman and the ruler of his house. She is overjoyed and falls into his arms.
Mariano and Alicia are together in a wooded area. He gripes about the truck being burned up. Alicia gives him an incredulous look and says: “They killed the driver and Johnny, and you’re worried about the truck!”
Rafa and Flor talk in bed about maybe leaving. Rafa tells her he needs to face the music about what he’s done. He doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder. Zahra storms in hollering for Flor and stops dead. “You’re together again!” Rafa tells her that she knows they love each other. She tells him that AA also feels something for her. Flor tells her she never had anything with AA. Zahra says that she knows they love each other, but her precious son is in a bad way. When he learns of this, it will be worse. She’s worried about Enrique and Alicia. Rafa tells her she should ask AA about them; after all, Enrique has been investigating AA. The same thing could be happening as with Francisco.
Flor is shocked. He’s guilty of killing Francisco? Zahra says that hasn’t been proven. Flor looks at Zahra with disgust for probably the first time. Zahra tells her it’s her son, and if Flor had one, she’d understand. Zahra says he’s got mental problems and it’s not his fault. Flor fires back: “You bet he’s got mental problems! He tried to rape me, and if I hadn’t had a knife handy, I’d be another one of his victims.”
Zahra shuts up for a bit, at least. But then she goes back on the offense again. She tells Rafa that the way AA is is their fault. Flor isn’t buying. She yells at her that she was abandoned by her father and her mother burned herself up in front of her eyes. And she’s not a killer who hates everyone. Zahra again says that it’s her son. Flor asks her “What about Enrique and Alicia? Who’s going to help them?”
Alicia is terrified AA will take his revenge by killing Enrique. Mariano, of course, only thinks of cooking up a story to save his own skin. What eventually happens is that he sends Alicia to be the “shooting the messenger” scapegoat and doesn’t go with her to confront AA.
Mina, in a very cute post-coital scene, tells Peter he’s like an oil tower. And why did she wait so long to do this. When he says he’s going to Wisconsin, she thinks the worst. But he tells her he wants to take her with him to be his woman. [This is one of those recurring confusing ambiguities of Spanish for at least this English speaker. The men often refer to their mujer. They want the woman to be their mujer. Sometimes this means wife, and the word is used interchangeably with esposa.] So I really don’t know if Peter plans to marry Mina or just cohabit.
Back at the drug shack, Arsenio tells AA that his men saw Flor and Rafa coming out of her casa in the morning. They spent the night together. He’s predictably disturbed by this. Alicia staggers in. Where’s my mercancia? She tells him it all went wrong. The driver and Johnny were killed, and the other cartel took the drugs and then burned up the truck.
Mariano has meanwhile showed up at the Jefatura to try to cover his tracks for last night’s adventure. Cool as a cucumber, he tells them he got an anonymous call, wasn’t sure it amounted to anything, and decided to follow up himself. Of course he didn’t hear or see that gunfight on the road. Now he’s here to offer his help. He tells the Governor, who is there with Quesada, that they were elected to provide justice! Big wolfish grin.
AA puts a gun to Alicia’s head and tells her he told her he wouldn’t accept any mistakes.
Rafa and Sacto agree that the front-page article wasn’t written voluntarily by Enrique. He must have been forced. Rocío has come to the door for the usual telenovela eavesdropping moment. Sacto says AA probably killed Francisco. Rafa says he’s convinced of it. He looks grim and says that if Enrique is dead, he’ll have to break the promise he made to Zahra and look for AA.
Zahra begs José María to come with her to meet with her son. [Now this is frightful. She knows, but won’t admit, that he’s a monster. But she’s going to put the town’s kindly doctor at risk by taking him to suggest to said monster that he might want to come along nicely to the nuthouse.]
In a towering rage, Abel chokes Enrique with a piece of cloth. Mariano looks on in horror and Arsenio holds Alicia back from interfering. He stops just before Enrique dies. He points to him and tells MG and Alicia to look at that face. This is what will happen to you if you don’t go with Arsenio and get back my drugs. Mariano can’t believe his ears. AA tells him he looks like he’s ready to wet his pants. He tells him that now he’s aware of what this work means. Before he just was concerned with squandering the money. How did he think this money was gotten?
Rafa goes to Flor’s house and doesn’t find her there. Flor shows up at the drug shack. Abel can see her on the security camera. She’s pounding on the door and telling him to open up. Oh boy! I can’t believe she did this. As they say in Spanish meterse en la boca del lobo. He told her the last time they were alone together that he’d make her suffer and cry tears of blood. So she makes it nice and easy for him!
Awesome recap, Novelera. If Flor knew where the drug shack was, why didn't she a) take Rafa and Sacto, or b) tell Quesada? I have to admit, there's a lot more drama this way.
Each day Rocio gets a little closer towards forgiving Jose Maria.
I sort of wonder why Mariano doesn't just shoot AA. He is the mayor, as we keep being reminded! Somehow I think AA is more likely to take down Mariano than vice versa.
To me, mujer in these shows usually means wife. Of course, sometimes, when characters just live together (in telenovelas set in Mexico, not in a big city) the man will call the woman he lives with his wife. But then again, Peter is American, so I could be wrong. Maybe we'll get a glimpse of Peter and Mina in Wisconsin, and find out.
Mau's Mom Carmen comes to the school to talk to Miranda. She wants to make sure Mau isn't in trouble, he's been acting strangely. Miranda can't really say anything.
Joaquo wants to beat Mau with a bat when he discovers the box of money, with a lot missing, in Mau's moto case. But Mau tells Yesi when he got to the trailer, boxes were on the floor. Yesi says, are you sure that's la neta (the truth)? Yes. Then it had to be Gonzalo. Joaquo later catches Gonzo in the parking lot, and almost breaks his finger, demanding return of the $2000 by the weekend.
Patty goes into the bathroom. While she's in the stall, Gilberto drags Ana in. He then tries to get her to have sex right there, as Patty listens in, half mortified, half intrigued. Gilberto wants to have wicked fun the way they used to, when they smoked marijuana and lived dangerously. But Ana fights him off, a girl could walk in at any time, and she's so close to being principal. In fact Teresa hardly has any votes. Gilberto asks if she has Santiago's vote, which also doesn't make Patty too happy.
Patty later tries to talk to Santiago, but he won't listen, since she's rejected him too much, and won't tell him her problem.
Product placement! Cassius draws something on his tablet computer, and uses Verizon 4G to transfer it to Sofia's phone really fast!!
Leo and Gonzo continue to break new ground in their quest to become the world's worst bullies. First they act like Eddie Haskells in telling Vice Principal Armando how Mr. Santiago terrorized them. Then they tell Cassius they'll give him a ride to his laundry. Actually they take him to a place under a bridge. First they throw his cell phone out the window. Then they pull guns on him and make him strip. When he wets his pants, they pull the trigger...with paintballs, and cover him with paint "por Sofía, por sapo (snitch) y por si"(just because). Santiago told his Dad, sooner or later these two are going down, and it can't be soon enough for me.
Miranda talks to Mau in the parking lot. JP is watching from afar. She accidentally knocks over his knapsack, which spills out a brown package. She opens it, and it's some vial of a liquid. When Miranda questions him about his lying yesterday, which she discovered he went to a beauty salon, he says he's just getting a product for his Mom. Right.
He later goes back to the salon, to deliver more drugs to the owner, Gia. Miranda also shows up a few minutes later while Mau is in a back room. Gia says she won't do business with Mau unless he takes off his clothes and gets a massage, which he reluctantly does. Miranda sees lots of little vials like the one Mau had. She asks Gia about the treatment. Gia says it's an expensive treatment, $30,000! But it works, she's living proof. How old do you think she is? Miranda guesses 36, but she's 46. You see? It takes 10 years off your life! How old are you, Miss? 27. Well, you could look 17 (conveniently the age of Mau :) Miranda can't afford that. On the way out, she looks through a door, and sees half naked Mau getting massaged by several girls!
Miranda tells Patty what's going on. Since Patty is a chemical genius, she recognizes the vials as illegal stem cells (células madre). Apparently there's a big market in these, just like drugs. Who knew?
Carmen is still suspicious of Mauricio. When he takes a shower (which he does a lot), she looks through his room, find the exact little cigar box out of hundreds of books and containers, opens it, and finds thousands in cash!! Mau is in deep doo doo!
If the other things Miranda and Carmen found out about Mauricio weren't bad enough, Miranda also has one last talk with Cortés, Oliver's former lawyer. She asks why Oliver was attacked. Cortés says someone from outside the prison wanted to silence him. Who could that be? The lawyer describes him. Green eyes. Wears a motorcycle jacket. Sound familiar?!!!!
(And, I suspect, since it's not drugs in the traditional sense that Mauricio has been ferrying around it also is being considered a "lesser" crime in the eyes of the writers than the alternative. So they can still screw with him as a result, but getting him out clean to save/restore his twisted-galan status might somehow turn out to be easier than it would otherwise...?)
I do wonder how long we're going to have to wait for karma to catch up to Team Douchebag, though. It's like a teen version of Juan Jaime Mondragon from La fuerza del destino, only with drugs instead of alcohol.
Bill, thanks for the link. You're right that these stem cells are Gia's treatment. If this show goes the way most do, not only will Gia get arrested since the cells are illegal, but Gia herself will go from beautiful to deformed, since these drugs weren't tested, and probably have dramatic side effects. They have to teach us a lesson, right? :)
Super recap, Novelera!! According to Wikipedia, Corazon Valiente is going to start on March 6. If that is true, we have 6 days to resolve all the stories.
You're right, Hombre. How did Flor know where the drug shack was?
I loved seeing Mariano getting in waaaay over his head. The whole drug transaction made no sense at all. One wonders again, if this is how he operates, how Abel became a big drug lord.
Much earlier, Mina told us that unlike most of the other 4p girls, she came from a good family was well educated. She wasn't escaping from something or could only find one kind of work - she liked sex and being a prostitute. So I don't see a great future for her going to Wisconsin with Peter but hey you never know.
If Catalina needs a blood transfusion, it would seem like someone at the hacienda would have the same blood type and could donate a pint or JM could even get some blood from Timotes.
Jean, I happened to see your recommendation of Doña Bárbara here at Caray just as Teresa was ending. I can't thank you enough for bringing my attention to this wonderful novela. I missed the first couple weeks but have stayed breathlessly (ha!) through to now, which appears to be the ultimas semanas. Jean, I haven't been able to read your recaps because I quickly realized that Caray recap titles are spoilers, but I plan to read the last of your recaps and the comments after the novela is over. Is anyone else around here watching DB and would like to discuss the ending? I would love to hear another's take on the program!
Jean, again THANKS for drawing my attention to this novela!
I've been taping the rebroadcast and watching it from time to time. If no one else is watching, I up for re-discussing the end.
Over the weekend I watched the 3-D Bluray of Puss n Boots, the animated movie, and I highly recommend it. It's good lots of Spanish culture and influences, and is of course, very funny. I watched it with the Spanish language track, and it turns out that Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek, who voiced the characters in English, also did the dubbing for the Spanish! Benicio del Toro also did one of the English and Spanish roles. Banderas is really funny with his "Castilian" spanish, putting "th"'s everywhere, even where they're not supposed to be :)
Jean and Hombre, I also was scratching my head over how Flor knew where the drug shack was. Her knowing that, and showing up alone to confront a guy she already knows is dangerous, is one of those illogical things in TN's that are meant to increase the suspense. But real human beings probably don't behave that way very often!
I don't know if Cat's health issues are blood loss or what. They did say she had hemorraged. But surely JM would have tried a blood transfusion if that's the problem. Oh, well. I guess I need to get out my tinfoil beanie. It's dusty from disuse as Flor Salvaje hasn't occasioned much use!
Hombre, maybe Mariano doesn't shoot Abel because he doesn't want those briefcases of dinero to stop! It could also be that, if Abel is captured, his involvement will be known.
Flor continues yelling outside the drug shack. Abel grabs her from behind. She tells him Rafa told her he was mixed up in dirty dealings. He says she fell for Rafa’s manipulations again. She’s a prostitute just like his mother. She pulls a gun on him.
Zahra is so worried about her son that she has to be sedated. Too bad José María doesn’t have a bottle of pills to cure stupidity. Rocío comes to Zahra and tells her she knows AA is involved in dirty dealings and wants to know if Mariano is also involved. She overheard Sacto and Rafa talking about it, that AA killed Francisco and that he also kidnapped Enrique. She yells at Zahra that they’re in danger and she only defends a criminal. Zahra slaps Rocío.
Abel tells Flor that if she shoots him 20 men would come, but she tells him 20 men won’t help him after she shoots him. She demands to know where Enrique and Alicia are. Rafa pulls up in a pickup with Rufino. Flor has her gun at the nape of AA’s neck, while Arsenio has his pointed at Flor. Rafa tells Flor to put down her gun. He knows that AA won’t provoke a massacre. He wouldn’t deprive himself of the pleasure of killing me himself. Flor goes to Rafa and tells AA that an army of 1,000 men couldn’t separate them.
Rafa gets angry at Flor for risking her life.
Unfortunately, even though Alicia, Mariano, and Enrique were planning to slip out the back, they don’t get away. He’s furious that Flor came to challenge him, as if Alicia’s and Enrique’s life were worth a red cent. He starts to ‘’calm himself” by forcing himself on Alicia in front of Mariano, Enrique, Arsenio, and some other guys. Then he tells them they have to go back to NE and convince Flor that Alicia was with Mariano all night.
Rocío tries to tell José María that she needs to know what Zahra confided about her son, but JM pleads professional ethics. She also tells JM that maybe the recording of the disk for Alicia, the video for Corre, and the calendar for Mina is just to cover up something. Maybe AA is involved in “trata de blancas" - trafficking of women.
Cat tells Sacto she’s well now. These two are a very sweet interlude in a dark episode.
Rafa says that his destiny is written. But then says it’s that he and Flor be together forever. He proposes to her on bended knee. She accepts with tears running down her cheeks, and his eyes are full of them also.
Enrique goads AA, calling him a coward who shuts up people who tell him a truth he doesn’t want to hear. AA punches him and then puts the gun to his head. Enrique tells him that he tried to say that Alicia gives him pleasure willingly. Well, if this is so, why was she screaming for you to let her go. AA tells him a coward couldn’t run the organization the way he has, including getting people out of the way, like he did Francisco Lozada.
Mariano and Alicia appear arm in arm and walk through town. They end up at the 4P and tell the women about their relationship. Flor and Rafa show up. Alicia sticks to her story. Mariano says that she and Enrique fought, Enrique abandoned her, and since she didn’t want to go back to work at the 4P, she agreed to be his exclusive woman.
Enrique tells AA that his uncle suffered when his first wife died. He was just about to be happy with Zahra until AA showed up. AA says his mother was never going to be happy with Francisco, because he didn’t want it so.
AA returns to town and is invited to have a drink with JM at the hotel outdoor patio. JM flatters him a bit about all he’s done for the town. He goes on to say that he must have felt abandoned by his parents. He tries to make a comparison with when he found out his father had been unfaithful and the result was a brother he didn’t know he had. AA gets furious, saying this doesn’t compare with how he’s suffered. AA asks JM if sometimes when operating he doesn’t feel like killing the patient. Then AA says he thinks someone sent JM to ask these questions. He says he’d better leave before he breaks his neck with his own hands.
Alicia tells Mariano she doesn’t think they’re going to survive this. She thinks Rafa would help them. She reminds him that Rafa told him in the bar not to get too close to the precipice. It’s because Rafa knows what’s happening to them. Mariano decides they have to continue to pretend.
Rocío tells Sacto she overheard he and Rafa talking. She tells him Alicia’s secret: that she and Enrique were investigating a cartel in NE. Sacto says he knew drugs were at the bottom of this. He says that Rafa has a plan, but in the meanwhile he wants everyone, including Rocío and Luisa, to move to his hacienda for safety. Later we see everyone at Hacienda Rojas vying to hold Cat and Sacto’s baby. Beba gets first dibs.
José María tells Olga that Abel is a psychopath, but that he’s also capable of suicide.
Said psychopath comes to Zahra and starts choking her. He asks her how she could think he wouldn’t figure out who send the doctor to “study” him. He says his craziness is only going to go away when she and his father disappear from this world.
Mariano comes into his hotel room and sees written on the wall in large letters: Te pagan mucho pero lo major es dejarte vivo. El Cartel del Sur There is a dead dog in his bed.
Rafa enters to find Cat on the sofa with the baby. He tries to be discreet and leave her, but she calls him back. She wants him to buy her hacienda because she’s going to live here with Sacto. She says it’s time for reconciliations.
Filo arrives at the hotel looking for her son.
Mariano stops Rafa’s truck in the woods and tells him that if Rafa doesn’t help him he only has a few hours left to live.
Thanks for the great recap, Noverlera. I couldn't see what was in Mariano's bed because my recording of Flor ended right then. If the "Southern Cartel" let Mariano live when they took the truck, why are they threatening him now?
Thanks, Novelera, excellent summary of a powerful episode (they're all pretty powerful these days!). After all Mariano has done, I hate to see Rafa helping him, but I guess Abel is the greater evil. I sure hope Mariano gets some major punishment, though.
It was nice to see Rafa and Flor get engaged. Finally!
The actress playing Alicia is doing a great job of acting as if she's acting. In other words, she lies to her friends, but since Alicia is just an ordinary human being, her nervousness shows. This isn't easy to do.
I guess the worst thing you can say to a man is that he's a "coward". That's what the good guys always say to the bad guys, and it always has an effect, almost as strong as when characters call female characters "whore" (the strongest insult for a female). In some ways AA is a coward, since he always has 3 or 4 tough guys behind him when he's hitting someone in a chair. But there have been other times when he stood all by himself, and dared someone to kill him. So he's not really a coward. Let's just call him "malo". Sorry, Zahra, but AA has got to go. I don't think he can be "cured".
So, how long are Mau and Miranda's secrets going to stay secret? Not too long, after last night. Let's start with Mau.
His Mom finds $5000 in an envelope. He's been getting all these emergency cell phones, now this, what's going on. He tells her it's not his money, he's holding it for Yesi, who is an orphan and doesn't have a bank account. (Actually, he should give some to Yesi, as her brother needs it). Carmen believes all this, tells him to deposit the money tomorrow in an account.
Carmen meets Miranda at the school again. Miranda makes sure to "accidentally" spill a brochure from Gia's salon in front of Carmen. Carmen tells her she's never heard of the place, and certainly never bought any treatments. Mau, your lie is coming out!
Cortes had given Miranda Oliver's old cell phone with a recording where Miranda says "this has got to stop" and Mau says "I love you". Patty sees a weird phone, presses play, and hears all. She confronts Miranda, who finally admits she did have sex with Mau that one day. Patty is shocked, and initially says she loves Miranda, but she has to report this. Miranda pleads, and Patty says she'll think about it overnight. She goes to sleep at Santiago's.
While there, she remembers her therapist's words to "lose yourself in the moment" and starts kissing Santi. Things are going pretty well until she accidentally lifts up her head and hits him in the nose! Oh well.
In the morning she tells Miranda her decision. She'll keep quiet. But they'd better not do it again!
Joaquo is running the hot dog stand for Yesi. His old contact comes by and demands the money. Joaquo promises it in 3 days. The contact says fine, but give me all of today's receipts as an advance. Joaquo does. Later, the owner of the stand (Yesi's boss) comes by for the receipts. She's Corina, a zaftig Cubana, full of fun and fire. Joaquo says he was robbed. She's not sure she believes him, but she lets him pay her back another way, since he's such a stud! After their interlude, she wants another "installment" the next day.
The cops find Cassius covered with paint, wearing just his boxers. He says he was robbed, and didn't see the robbers. Sofia goes to find him at the laundry. When he's brought in by the cops, she suspects Leo, even though Cassius won't confirm it. She goes to Leo's house, and the maid is just about to wash Leo's clothes, which were covered with paint! She takes a picture, later confronts Leo, who says, what, did your black lover Cassius send you, because he's afraid? She says no he didn't, because unlike you, Leo, Cassius has honor. Take that, Leo.
Nora feels conflicted about giving the recording to the newsguy, but she decides she has to do it.
JP keeps getting closer to Miranda's secret, while pretending to be her friend, and trying to get her into bed. At one point, when he's about to kiss her, she flashes to Mau's question, what do you really feel about me? Thinking of Mau, she says to JP, "I'm really turned on by you" (tu me gustas mucho), which JP takes for himself, but Miranda then awkwardly tries to get out of.
At the end of the episode, Miranda confronts Mau, he's been lying about the clinic, about Oliver, about everything. She wants the truth - NOW!
I enjoyed your recap, Hombre. The way you write them, I can just about see the characters.
So Oliver did die? If so, surprising they'd kill off such a nasty villain so early in the show.
I was wondering if I'd misheard or if it's a continuity error. We never saw it, but didn't Alicia tell AA that the truck burned up. But when AA orders them to recoup the drugs, he talks about getting back the camión.
Jean, I think they let both Alicia and Mariano live to carry back the message to El Jefe. It's unclear to me if they know who he is. Also, they might be a bit reluctant to kill a mayor who, in the past, has been very chummy with the Governor of the state. But they are giving a serious warning to scare him off making another drug run. I guess they saw The Godfather, but the TN budget didn't run to a fake horse's head!
Hombre, maybe I've forgotten episodes of bravery on the part of AA. The one that stands out is daring Rafa to kill him. But, he'd already told Arsenio that he had a "secret" that would keep him from being harmed. He was pretty sure Rafa would be incapable of killing his child. So, that's not exactly brave. I can't stand him!!!!
I don't even want AA to be killed, which is the likely outcome.
I would prefer him to be locked up and maybe become the "girlfriend" of a gigantic tattooed prisoner. After all, he is sort of pretty!
Several people have said Oliver died, including his lawyer, so I think he's dead, even though we never saw a burial or the body.
FLOR SALVAJE:
Maybe AA means the "truckload", when he says he wants them to recover the truck. Maybe the cartel got the "merca" out before the truck was destroyed. But of course there's no way Mariano could recover it.
Since the new show starts next Tuesday, I guess our gran final will be next Monday.
Rafa takes Mariano to Cat’s hacienda to talk things over. He looks around for Cat. Rafa tells him Sacto took her to Hacienda Rojas so she’d be far from Mariano, something he should have done a long time ago. He tells him they both know he was threatening her, which is why she tolerated his presence for so long.
Arsenio tells AA he’s located the leadership of the other cartel. AA says he’s going to send Alicia and Mariano because, if blood is shed, it will be theirs and not his. He tells Arsenio he has to watch Mariano. Arsenio tells him it’s a suicide mission. He, for once, looks askance at his fearless leader. AA assures him he’ll be watching from a distance. Arsenio keeps saying that AA is sending him to a sure death. AA says he’s going to use Mariano and Alicia to test the waters. He wants to know how dangerous the other guys are. The purpose of getting M & A to ask for a meeting is to see if the other side will negotiate. If they kill them, then we know there’s no negotiations. Then we’ll send some of our guys to kill their boss.
Enrique finally gets it through his head that he shouldn’t have gotten Alicia mixed up in this. She blames herself for the failure of the drug mission. Enrique tells her that she should not let that monster threaten her. He’s already dead, and he knows it. When Mariano and she leave, she needs to flee.
We are treated to an excellent scene between Rafa and Mariano. Mariano tells him he’s between two cartels, one from the frontier and … Rafa says the other one is Abel’s. Rafa tells him he’s well paid, so what’s his problem. Mariano says he never saw so much money in his life, but it’s not going to save his skin. “They’re going to kill me.” Rafa; “Que vueltas da la vida. Mariano says he knows Rafa doesn’t give a rat’s behind about his life, but what about Alicia and Enrique
Filomena asks Zahra where Enrique is. She might be disgusted with his recent behavior, but no one is going to harm him. Zahra lies some more and says that she only knows he left a note saying he’d gone to the capital. Filo says, basically “BS. He’d have come to the newspaper”.
Rafa tells Mariano that he wants AA to leave the area. He says he should not tell AA they talked. He should let him think he’s on his side. Mariano: “Are you crazy? You must want them to kill me!” Rafa says that he’s going to have him end up a hero. He’ll talk with the Governor and with Quesada and tell them Mariano is undercover with the cartel and will unmask them at the appropriate time. Mariano says he wants to be pulled out of the sh!t, not put farther in. Rafa finally tells him that it’s either his plan or he ends up floating in the river like one of Mariano’s prostitutes. Rafa tells Mariano that he needs to learn the word “karma”. Mariano fires back that, if karma works, Rafa would be behind bars.
Sacto and Cat are just so sweet to watch through this whole time period. He waits on her hand and foot, bringing her cup after cup of herbal tea. She tells him about selling the hacienda and that she feels like she left her sorrows all at the other place. Besides, Rafa worked hard on that hacienda and he deserves to have it and to be happy there.
Rafa tells Rocío and Sacto about the plan. He tells Rocío that her vengeance will have to wait. Saving Alicia and Enrique is the priority. The plan will only work if Mariano cooperates. He has a meeting with the other cartel, leaving Enrique at the drug shack so that we can rescue him. Quesada is going to try to arrest AA. Sacto says Rafa should go with Quesada to grab up Mariano when he’s with the other cartel. Sacto and Avelino will attempt to rescue Alicia and Enrique. Rafa tells Sacto he’ll have to confront AA, and be careful because he’s very dangerous.
Abelardo comes to confess everything to Flor. Abe seems to be on the road to redemption. Later he tells Ana how sorry he is for how badly he treated her mother and then his daughters.
AA tells Mariano that Arsenio talked with the other cartel. AA wants them to give back his drugs. Mariano says it’s crazy. They’re supposed to present themselves and insist that the drugs be returned. You think they’ll let us live? AA tells him to stop whining. He says they promised no bloodshed. Mariano: “And if it’s a trap?” AA: “Maybe yes. Maybe no. But it’s a sure thing that, if you don’t go, I will kill you!”
Filo gets in Quesada’s face about Enrique and even tries to bribe him. Q manages to back her off. She tells him Enrique is a serious journalist and would never have written that article about Abel Torres. Maybe they need to start with that guy in their search.
José María tells Zahra that Abel is a psychopath. The only way to keep other people safe from him is to keep him locked up and taking drugs all the time. He thinks the only thing to do is go before a judge and get him declared incompetent. The judge could order his detention and hospitalization. But this would be forever.
Rafa asks Rufino to get Flor for him. She wonders what he’s doing at Cat’s. He tells her Cat sold him the place, and it’s going to be their home. He wants the wedding to be tomorrow. Flor asks about the guns he’s got spread out. He says, after tomorrow, he’s throwing them all away. She wants to know what’s going on, but he doesn’t want her to know. He just tells her to trust him.
AA tells Mariano he needs to tell those guys that we got the message. We won’t traffick in their area. As a show of good faith, he wants them to return his drugs. Mariano says Alicia is a wreck, and he doesn’t want her going along. Mariano leaves. Arsenio and some guys follow, then Rafa follows. First he tells Rufino to dig up Pablo’s body to give to Lucía and, if anything happens to him, to take care of Flor.
Rocío convinces Fideo to testify against Mariano. She saw him carry out Silvia’s body wrapped in a sheet. Rafa had said she needed some evidence against Mariano.
Zahra tells Olga that the pain of another mother has convinced her she has to tell Filomena the whole story. Filo, in tears, castigates herself for her pride and not stopping Enrique when he told her about his dangerous story.
AA tells Enrique and Alicia that he’s going to grant their wish and let them die like Romeo and Juliet. He plays awful sadistic games about which one he’ll shoot first. Just then Sacto comes in, armed, and tells AA to lower his weapon. It’s all over for him.
Thanks again, Novelera, fine recap. Since the wedding is "tomorrow" and the good guys have AA at gunpoint, one would think they could wrap the show up tonight. But since there are several nights left, AA will definitely escape, and lots of other things will go wrong, I fear.
I found the scene at the 4P funny where all the girls were told that Abel was in fact, bad. Drat, there go all their new careers!
I would just LOVE to see AA locked up for life in a mental hospital, getting "treatment". Mariano has to get punished, too. Both AA and Mariano could also end up killed. That was ironic when Filomena told Zahra, a mother will do ANYTHING for her son, when Zahra has been saying the same thing. Unfortunately Zahra's son has Filo's son prisoner with a gun to his head!
Flor really looks beautiful in closeups.
This show is SUPER exciting, every episode is packed with drama, too bad not too many are watching.
JP is a real piece of work. First, he threatens Mau with the knowledge that Mau jumped out the window of Miranda's. Fortunately, Mau had just spoken with Mir, so they got their stories straight. And Mau is no dummy, he correctly guesses that Ignacio took the photo, throwing JP for a loop!
Not satisfied, JP strongarms Patty (literally grabbing her wrist), to make HER reveal Mir and Mau's secret. But she doesn't. Patty later tries again to cuddle up to Santiago, but now he just wants to be friends, and then Ana comes in.
Meanwhile, what's up with Santiago threatening Leo and Gonzo? Sofia and Alejandro corner Nora, tell her that L&G terrorized Cassius, shot him with paint, and Alejo tells how L&G forced HIS head in the toilet bowl. C'mon, Nora, they say, are you racist and homophobic? This does the trick. Nora meets with the reporter, and drops the thumbdrive in a vase of water. No more evidence, since Leo's copy was erased.
By whom? I think it was Vivi, Ana's step-niece. She hints to Ana that she did it. Santiago is now cleared for lack of evidence. Ana approaches him, Patty leaves, and Ana says SHE saved Santi (it was really Vivi). Since Santi backed her in the "civil war" incident, they're even. If she becomes principal, she'll even make Santi Vice Principal! Santi's a little uncomfortable about taking away his father's job.
Joaquo still owes his contact money. He may have to sleep with Corina again, which he would do, but doesn't want Yesi to know about. He has to have the money by tonight.
Joaquo also told Gonzo HE had to have the money (he stole from Yesi) tonight. Gonzo's plan? Get it from Leo's Mom Clemencia (La Nena) whom he has a crush on. Leo's busy with his Dad, so Gonzo goes to his house, and gives Nena a sob story. He's poor, has to take 2 buses to school, he aunt and cousin are going to lose their house. He even chokes on some meat she gives him to eat, saying he's not used to eating meat since they can't afford it? Nice Nena says, "how much money do you need?"
And what about Mau? Miranda had demanded the truth, since she knew he was lying about the clinic. She tells him trafficking in stem cells is a major crime. Stem cells? He's shocked, but says nothing (again). She says I'm going to get to the bottom of this, no matter what the consequences. Mau's Mom also tells Miranda she found Mau with a huge amount of cash, which is also suspicious to Miranda.
This time Mau has 2 deliveries (why hasn't he quit?). Miranda is following him again, unknown to him. He goes to Gia's, give her one package, but she takes both, locks them in a minifridge, and starts to strip and says she wants sex with him. Frantic, he says he has to go to the bathroom. He then starts a little fire, sets off the smoke detectors, and confusion breaks out.
He takes advantage of this by sneaking into Gia's office, getting her keys from her jacket, opening the fridge, taking out the vials, closing up and leaving. He then goes to a gym, leaves the stuff in a locker, and Miranda observes another young lady open up the locker and take it out.
Mau, so are so busted! But the previews make it look as if Gia complained, and Mau is REALLY in doo doo now!!! (don't I say that every night? :)
The founder of our blog does not like gossip. I think it’s not gossip if it’s interesting biographical stuff. I posted something earlier about Tony Dalton that interested me.
Mónica Spear was Miss Venezuela in the Miss Universe contest in 2004. She placed 4th runner up. Afterwards, she completed a BA in theater at a university in Florida. In 2008 she married an English businessman, and their daughter, Maya, was born the same year.
This is a short one guys. It was a great episode, but Wednesdays are hard for me. I don’t get home from Spanish class until almost 10:00. Please fill in blanks and elaborate.
A gunfight erupts at the drug shack, but Enrique and Alicia are unhurt. Unfortunately, as we could have predicted, AA gets away.
Filomena asks Zahra if she’ll tell the police about Abel likely having Enrique. She says she’ll do it and also tells her he killed Francisco to hurt her. She tells Filo that everyone tried to tell her how bad her son was, but she wouldn’t listen.
AA has a hissy fit in front of the guy that got out with him. He can’t believe something isn’t going his way. He shoots the guy that helped him get out.
Mariano goes into a cliché narco house with funny large, antique books used as decorations. The head narco has a fancy embroidered western shirt. Mariano gives him a folder with AA’s plan for the two cartels and tell him the boss wants his drugs back. Just then Quesada and Rafa get into a gunfight with Arsenio outside. The narcos decide Mariano has betrayed them and are going to shoot him. He manages to get his hands on a gun and fires back. Just about when he’s about to be shot, Rafa and Quesada burst in. The narcos are arrested. Rafa tells Quesada the big lie that Mariano was an undercover hero.
Enrique refuses to rest and instead writes a front-page exposé of Abel Torres.
One of AA’s guys got him a passport and some luggage out of his hotel room. He knows he should leave, but his mind is on revenge.
The narcos are put into that same cell in the jefetura. Mariano is so funny gloating outside, telling them he has once again brought justice to the area.
His joy is shortlived, as he’s escorted into an office where the Governor tells him he’s accused of murdering Silvia. Fideo is there as a witness. And Quesada says he saw him kill Emilio, Flor’s brother. Rocío tells Mariano she only pretended to forgive him. He can’t believe it, and asks her to get him out. Quesada puts him in the same cell with the narcos!
A cop comes to tell Filo that Enrique was rescued. She runs to see him in the medicatura.
Rocío goes to José María’s room and finds him in the shower. She undresses, gets in there with him, and tells him that life is too short to be without the great love of her life.
Everybody is getting dressed for the big wedding. The P’s dress all in white. Everyone is at the hacienda for the wedding: Petroleros, Ps, etc. We see all the happy couples together, Sacto and Cat, JM and Rocío, Manuela and Avelino. They all look very happy.
Zahra gives away the bride. It’s a civil ceremony. Zahra and Flor walk beneath an arch of red roses held up by the Ps. The judge asks if they consent. They kiss.
But AA is lurking there. Uh oh!
I see no flaws in your recap, Novelera. Great episode.
Rocio's dreamy smile as Mariano was arrested and his astonishment at her betrayal was really great.
Mariano was put into the cell with the narcos with his hands handcuffed behind him. Besides being at a numerical disadvantage, he cannot defend himself at all.
Mina told the other 4P girls that she likes hot weather and she will only stay with Mr. Peter in his cold homeland if he brings a lot of heat to the relationship.
Also, in a very weird scene, Mina reads Flor's palm. She provides another foreshadowing, if we needed one, that Rafa isn't going to live happily ever after with Flor.
Mariano did have a point when he protested at his arrest that Rafa had murdered a bunch of people, too.
I didn't think Zahra made it clear to Filomena that AA killed Francisco before Zahra knew who he was. Filomena has turned good and doesn't appear to blame Zahra for Francisco's death but Zahra's inability to see the truth about AA would not have saved Francisco.
We've got three episodes to go. Obviously, AA is going to try and exact vengeance on Rafa, Flor and Zahra but it doesn't seem like that could last for three episodes. What is left? Susana gets together with Dudi? La Beba gets together with Gabriel?
Rocio's short flashback to Emilio's murder reminded me of how few flashbacks are used in this novela in contrast to Mi Corazon Insiste, for example. Another indicator, if we needed one, of the quality of this novela.
Novelera, you summarized the exiting events perfectly!
As I remarked a few weeks ago, just about everyone has betrayed Abel, including Zahra, Johnny, and Mariano. He's just left with Arsenio, who is the one who got his luggage and the passport. Zahra discovered multiple other passports, further reminding him of how devious AA is.
I liked a line between Rafa and Flor, where he says I'm a wild animal. She says, so am I. He goes no, you're my wild flower (Flor Salvaje). She also asked the Justice of the Peace to use that name in her wedding vows.
Mina's palm reading was ominous. She also said "I used to do it as a joke, but this time I feel it's real". There was something about a punishment for Rafa.
Jean, I agree, how can they fill up 3 more episodes? But AA could kidnap, Flor, take her to a hideout. Or Mariano could somehow get out of jail (less likely). All I know is, the writers on this show are very good, and they should provide us with more thrills before this one wraps up.
This show gets better and better every night! Mauricio still won't tell Miranda anything about his drug running, but tells her to trust him. I'm starting to think, could he actually be working with the cops?? More on this later.
JP continues his disgusting behavior, hiring a PI to find dirt on Miranda, and later telling him to dig into Mauricio's life. I bet JP DID kill his wife, Oliveras' daughter!
Nena takes pity on Gonzo's poor boy act, and gives him $3000. Gonzo gives the money to Joaquo, and Joaquo give the money to his underworld contact. No problem! Well, Leo's Dad does question Nena about $3000 missing from the family safe. The contact wants to do more business with Joaquo (uh oh), and Gonzo is still there in the trailer, and HE wants to get in on some illegal stuff, too! Sounds like fun.
Yesterday, Cassius brought a knife to school. Gonzo turned the tables on him. Later, Sofia told Cassius to give her the knife, and she got her hand cut. Quizzed by Santiago, she tells how Cassius was spray painted and stripped by Leo and Gonzo. Santiago vows to stop the bullies. Right after L&G are discussing how they have to retain their cred by messing up "Alejandrito" and Cassius, Santi confront them in the locker room, no cellphones this time, and threatens them again, with expulsion, or even jail. I don't this scares them, though.
Ana shows up at Santi's apartment sweaty and sexy from her running, needing a drink of water. Santi calls her bluff, you're not just showing up to discuss strategy, right? She agrees, she's turned on by him. He's attracted to her too, but she is married. Things are about to heat up more when Gilberto shows up, Ana hides, and Gilberto sort of acts a little too friendly, as if he knows Ana is there.
Alejandro finds a gay friend online. Instead of sending his own picture, he sends a near naked one of Sebastian which he took! Bad idea, as in the gym, the other guy comes up to Sebastian and says I'm glad we could hook up, I liked your picture. Sebastian is dumbfounded until he sees Alejo's guilty look. Alejo is forced to admit that he's The Masked Man (his chat name). Whoops!
Thank you for all your recaps, Novelera!
There are actually two episodes left of Flor- they announced the final episode to be this Friday. I read in a few places that Maid en Manhattan will air for 2 hours on Monday.
Still, even with two episodes, I'm not sure how they will be filled. Obviously Abel is going to come back, I guess they are going to somehow stretch that out to two more eps.
They have been hitting us over the head with signs that Rafa is going to die so either they wanted to prepare us for that or they are going to do something completely different. With this novela you just never know.
Flor & Rafa's sweet moments were nice to see last night. What a roller coaster they have been on!
Miranda is trying to unearth what Mau is doing with the stem cells. She follows the woman who picked up the envelope from Mau's last delivery. She overhears her call someone, and set up a meeting. When the woman leaves, Mir uses a pencil to see the tracings on the napkin with the address. But when Mir goes out, the woman calls someone, and says, "she took the bait!"
Mauricio receives a phone call from Billy. Big trouble. The drug boss wants a meeting. Now. Mau, Billy and a few others are hooded and taken to some warehouse, where the boss says one of the people here is an undercover agent. They're all eating food. The boss says I know who is the sapo, and that person's food is poisoned! Could this be true? Could Mau be the snitch? Could he die?
Outside, Miranda is showing up, too, and is about to go into the warehouse. But there's that van we always see, whom we think is the cops. And the woman to whom Mau delivered that package, the one Miranda was getting an address from? She's a cop!!! But not only that, the police van door opens, and inside the van door is Oliver! He's ALIVE!!!!!!!!!
I will definitely be watching the new TN at 9pm - look forward to it. El Talisman turned out to be a dud, big time dud, so hope telemundo gives us something that packs a punch.
Thanks, guys, for the kind remarks. What I felt was missing from my recap was some editorial comments about what went on. That one was "Just the facts, ma'am".
They did say two more episodes several times last night. Actually I like it ending on Friday. The new way of having novelas end on Monday doesn't do much for me.
There were so many rich moments last night. There was Filomena doing a complete about face. It was pretty sudden, but the actress sold it. The shock of possibly losing the son she'd tried for years to boss around apparently woke her up.
The actress playing Zahra also convincingly portrayed someone finally waking up and accepting a cruel reality. She was willing to accuse her son in front of the authorities to save Enrique.
I loved the two scenes with Rafa and Flor. The passionate lovemaking the night before their wedding. And the cozy morning chat. Tony Dalton is such a convincing man in love -- an adult man in love. So many of the galánes we see lately seem immature to me - mooncalves if you will.
Yes, there's a TON of foreshadowing that Rafa will die. It would be great if they fooled us. He and Flor make such a great couple. They know each other's faults and virtues completely and seem that they'd be good life companions as well as passionate lovers.
What I'm liking about the novela, besides great writing and great acting is the way they aren't waiting until the very last hour to cram every resolution into it. Mariano got busted before the end. Rocío went to José María in a very interesting way. Instead of a long speech, which most novela writers would have written, she got into the shower and said one sentence. Great!
I can’t figure out when the novela is over. Tonight they said one day until the final. That sounds like one more regular episode and THEN the grand finale. But someone posted that it was over Friday and Monday would be 2 hours of Una Maid. Whatever.
Well, the folks on TW who said they would never get married were wrong. They tied the knot, and we see lots of happy faces enjoying this and one face of a withered soul who is trying to get a good shot at his father.
Quesada and the Governor think AA got out of the country because of all the leftover passports that were found. The Gov is sorry he didn’t get to have him be a prisoner, because this would have given him a shot at the Presidency of the country.
AA, with his psycho smile, says that the story is repeating itself. The day he arrived in NE, Zahra was about to be happy marrying Francisco. He says Zahra and Rafa aren’t worthy of being parents to such a fine specimen as himself.
Everyone gathers around to congratulate the happy couple, and AA is furious he can’t get a clear shot. Zahra has a bad feeling that AA is around there.
Cat asks Sacto if seeing Flor get married didn’t bother him because of how much he loved her. He says that’s all in the past. And he’s decided maybe his motivation toward her was more about saving her.
I’ve been going to the wrong kinds of weddings. The ones I attend aren’t full of gorgeous people constantly kissing each other!
The P’s read Flor a charming letter telling her how they feel about her. And Abe and Flor seem to be making peace with each other.
Gabriel and Beba start to play a bit of soccer. Gabriel goes off, saying girls can’t play. Beba goes after the soccer ball and the miserable jerk AA catches her, ties her and gags her. Susana meets the same fate a little later, when looking for Beba. He tells the two of them to be quiet, with an evil smile. He says that later on they’re leaving. He tells each one he’ll kill the other if she makes a sound.
Filomena tells Rafa and Flor that Flor always knew that Alicia was a brave woman. She hopes to be a mother to her (!!!). Filo also wants Enrique and Alicia to come live with her in the capital.
Everyone starts looking for Susana and Beba. When AA is trying to get them moved toward a car, Zahra approaches. She tells him she won’t say a word; just let the girls go. She then tells him everyone is looking for them. He curses. Then he makes her take hold of Susana and he brings up the rear with Beba. Zahra makes one more mistake when they get to the car. He gets Susana and Beba inside. He has his back to the road and is arguing with Zahra. She sees Rufino coming down the road at top speed. Instead of keeping her mouth shut so Rufino could shoot him, she says Rufino’s name and AA shoves her in back and drives off.
Rufino races down the road shooting at the car. Everyone hears the shots. Rafa, always the smartest guy in the room, tells everyone to go inside, including Flor, who has to be dragged in by Piruetas. Rufino tells Sacto and Rafa that he only saw Zahra forced into the car. But, based on not finding the girls and Dudi saying the piece of feather was from Susana’s wedding costume, they conclude he has them.
AA drives them to a hangar for drug planes. Zahra keeps begging him not to hurt the girls.
Rafa says that what AA wants is him, and he’s going after them. Flor is distraught, saying why does she always have to choose between people she loves.
AA is looking crazier and crazier. He tells Zahra she did him a favor by abandoning him so he didn’t have to be raised by a slut and a killer.
Alone with Arsenio, he tells them that while they have the girls they’re going to be safe. They’ll serve his as a negotiation tool to get what he wants. What he wants is Rafa and Flor kneeling before him. He’ll shoot Rafa in front of Flor. Arsenio asks if he plans to leave Flor alive. Another psycho smile. He says he’s thinking of entering the business of trafficking women. He plans to take Flor far, far away and sell her as a prostitute.
He calls the hacienda to speak with Rafa. Rafa offers himself in exchange for the girls and Zahra. AA says it’s a deal, but no men of his along nor those of Sacramento. And, by the way, one small detail. He wants him to also bring Flor Salvaje.
.
Thanks, Novelera. This time you got to put in your funny comments, such as the weddings you go to aren't like this one. Same here.
This has been quite a change for Filomena. And what happened to Enrique's wife, the rich girl back in the capital? Oh well, I guess even Filo can't stop true love.
I was thinking that Zahra is sort of the only good character who is "expendable", in that it wouldn't break up a romantic couple. But I forgot how destroyed Olga would be.
It was cute how some of the girls gave Dudi some whiskey in a teacup to calm his nerves.
It's so exciting, I think I need some of that whiskey, too!
Thanks, Novelera, for the excellent summary of the big wedding episode. I also don't understand the "Gran Finale" timing. My DVR does not show that Flor is being shown on Monday but if the finale were on Friday, why wouldn't the promos on yesterday's episode say, "Gran Finale tomorrow" instead "1 more day until finale." It's weird.
Since everyone knows that Abel is a psychopath bent on vengeance, it might have made sense to have a little more security at the wedding and not blithely assume that he has left town like a rational criminal would have but of course then there wouldn't be any drama.
It looked to me like the big spike heels of the 4p chicas were sinking in to the grass as they were lining up to salute Flor. I remember that problem when I used to wear (much lower) heels.
You are right, Hombre, that Zahra is unattached but so is Correcaminos. Since she split with Dudi, she doesn't seem to have anyone.
Then there's Ana. Did you notice Titi comforting her at the wedding. She wouldn't have anything to do with TiTi before that. She seems to be turning good in her relations with Flor and her sisters.
Looks as if Gilberto does NOT know Ana is hiding in Santiago's apartment, as he proceeds to get drunk and pretty much hang himself. He remarks how easily he "fooled" Ana about his affair with the chorus girl, by saying "it's not what it looks like" and deny, deny, deny. He admits to a bunch of other things, insults women, all while Ana is hiding in the next room!
When last we saw Mau, he was eating some food in a drug den. The boss said one of you is a traitor, and your food is poisoned. Mau gulps, but they look to the end of the table, and the big tough guy named "Giant" is dead! He was an undercover cop! Mau is okay, but he's given some more drugs for the next delivery.
Outside, Miranda approaches the woman she saw get a package from Mau at a locker, starts yelling at her, but the woman (a cop) warns Miranda to stay out of this, for her own safety.
Miranda follows Mau home, and they have a big argument in the garage (she THROWS herself under the closing garage door!). She gets the idea that Mau is working with Oliver! Mau still can't tell her anything, just trust him, the only thing he can tell her is that he loves her. And if she doesn't love him back, she shouldn't involve herself (this makes her think).
Sofia says Mom's coming, so they run inside. Now Miranda could be caught in MAU's house, just as he was almost caught in HER apartment. She rushes to his bedroom, he yells to his Mom he's in the shower, and takes off his clothes in front of Miranda. He then runs to the kitchen.
Sofia and Mau try to occupy Carmen in the kitchen by accidentally dropping some juice, then some eggs. In Mau's bedroom, she finds his cash, his drugs, and an address on his cellphone for the next drop.
When Mau gets to the bedroom, Miranda has left through the window, but she left everything out. Mau knows that she knows!
JP gets a report from the PI he hired. He learns that Miranda's Dad was a cop who was killed in an undercover drug operation in Mexico. The guy finds nothing about Mauricio, no evidence of any romance with the teacher. Later (see below), when the heat is on, the PI says he's off the case, since something illegal is going on.
Patty sees Joaquo in school, and fantasizes about his amazing body. She later comforts Miranda, and asks her, would you sleep with Mau again? Of course not, she says. Good answer, says Patty.
Joaquo DOES seem to be letting Gonzalo get in on some illegal delivery action. Joaquo is also still "meeting" with sultry Corina, unbeknownst to Yesi.
Andres (Leo's Dad) asks Nena what happened with the $3000? She says she gave it to the church. No receipt? he roars. Sorry, honey.
Alejandro is so embarrassed that he sent Sebastian's picture to the gay guy. But guess what? The guy forgives him, can't resist Alejo's blue eyes! You go, Alejando!
Orlando (Sebastian's Dad, the prosecutor) tells Seb they were trying to find the factory for the illegal stem cells with an undercover agent, but everything went bad, and now they have to speed up the operation. Just when Mau picks up his drugs, the cops swoop in, including that lady cop. Mau is arrested, along with all the other guys, Billy, the boss, and Gia is arrested at her salon. Miranda, who keeps following everybody, is shocked!!
Thank you, Novelera, for your great recaps. I can't believe the last episode is tonight!
Usually the nice wedding is the very last episode of a novela, so it was nice to see the bulk of it last night.
I hope Flor & Rafa somehow make it. I never thought I'd want a simple happy ending for them, but I do. We'll see what happens!
I still have no idea where they're going with NPS ("no puede ser!") now that Mauricio's been arrested as a drug courier. That said, his remarks to Miranda about it all were even more evasive than usual for him; is it possible that he is/was also playing for the good guys as well? It wouldn't be any stranger than, well, the rest of this story. (And there's still the Oliver issue to boot.)
At least Gia getting arrested in the sweep was apparently a nice stealthy way of introducing Mildred Quiroz's--and yet another recurring--character, who is supposed to be Liz's mother. Not that this show needs more eyecandy, but still...
I also have no clue of what's going on..But I do think that Oliver snitched to get a better deal and i also think they (the cops) know about Miranda and Mau. I am going out on a limb and say that Miranda's father is alive. Eh Why not? I don't know about JP, but maybe he did kill his wife, did it do to get with the sister. I do not know..i like the fast pace of the stories and can't to see wait happens next. Does anyone have any opinions about Una Maid?
