El Mundo de Telemundo, Week of 4/2/12: Discuss Amongst Yourselves

Here's a new page to chat about your favorites. I'm sitting out the current primetime Telemundo line-up but I'm recording and watching "Más sabe el diablo" whenever I can. Man, I just love that show ... Back to you!

"Más sabe el diablo"

Hi NovelaMaven! Since this was my first full novela (first run), I thought it was tops. happy to hear I am not alone.

I especially hated to love 'Martin Acero.'

Más sabe el diablo

Hola shallowgal!

Oh yeah, Miguel Varoni's "Martin Acero" is delightfully despicable. Varoni moved him, pretty much intact, to "La casa de al lado" where he played "Javier". Has anyone seen Varoni where he WASN'T a snooty sleazeball?

The chemistry between Jencarlos and Gaby was apparently so convincing that it spilled over into their real lives. Whatever their motivation, it's great fun to watch them together.

It's also fun to see Karla Monroig and Jorge Luis Pila as a couple here, especially knowing they were going to reprise their relationship in "La Casa de al lado".

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Mauricio is recovering. He's doing physically therapy to recover his walking. The doctor keeps warning he has to, at all costs, avoid any strong emotions. Fat chance, this being a telenovela! Manuel has warned Miranda to stay away from Mau for this reason. JP is also urging her to act like his novio for her own protection. So of course, when Mau sees a picture of JP and Miranda together, those meters start beeping like crazy!

With the cops outside Yesi's trailer, how can Joaco get rid of the gun planted by the baddies? No problem, chemistry whiz Patty rigs up electrolysis in a kitchen bowl, and they MELT the gun! So the cops (mainly bad cop Pedro) find nada. Foiled in this, they kill Billy. They sure have killed a lot of people.

Mauricio is up, so Olivia confronts him. But Mau is super smart, and turns everything around on her, saying of course he couldn't love a teacher and get her in trouble, and btw, when I was half conscious, I felt you rub my cheek and heard what you said. Could you possibly be hounding Miranda because you're in love with me? Of course not, fires back Olivia, but when she leaves the room, the tears stream down her overly made up face.

Liz is locked in Gonzo's lair, and he's out drunk. She calls Leo, who rescues her and takes her to her mother's party. Mom Olga is acting like a wild teenager, and the two get into a spat, prompting Liz to leave. She sleeps at Leo's (not with him). The next day Leo tells Gonzo the truth so he won't get mad, but Gonzo is pretty mad anyway, about HIS woman.

Gilberto has taken JP's gun (he later gets chewed out for this) and threatens Ana, but Ana keeps her cool. Gil says he's not much of a teacher, and not too good a musician (we've seen this, his guitar playing was out of tune), but he's a manly man. He comes up with an ultimatum, if Ana promises no sex with Santi until the divorce, Gil will give her a quick divorce. Ana agrees. Of course Santi isn't happy about this, desires Ana madly. When Julia comes onto Santi in hot lingerie, Santi blows her off, he's just into her anymore. She whines about how she's sacrificing her acting career to be a teacher.

Olivares is in town, can't find Marta, wonders about the $10,000 cash she took. He can't touch JP, since the cops are following JP 24 hours a day (Olivia's orders), but Olivares finds JP's weak point: Miranda. Now he's going to terrorize HER!

MAS SABE EL DIABLO

Hola NovelaMaven and shallowgal,

I am watching "Mas Sabe el Diablo" for the second time. It is one of my favorites, and it is as engrossing the second time around as it was the first. The story is really intriguing, and I agree that the chemistry between the leads is about as good as it gets. That is really heating up now. And I think these are the best roles I have seen Jorge Luis Pila and Karla Monroig in, and Miguel Varoni too. He is a great villain in this, isn't he? I found La Casa de al Lado, Alguien te Mira and Aurora (which feature some of these actors) good at the beginning, but they all lost their way later on (for me at least) so I stopped watching them. I did manage to watch Donde Esta Elisa til the end, but I think for Jorge this detective role is better than that one.

I must admit that I am having a hard time finding a telenovela that I want to watch, and I try to watch one (and only one!) at all times for my language learning. I just finished watching La Hija del Mariachi for the third time and am having real withdrawal symptoms. That is the best telenovela I have ever seen. The story, the writing, the cast, the production, the fact that it is the only telenovela musical I know of and the quality of that music, the dialogue, and the roller coaster ride they take you on is really exceptional. Also the discussion group on Telenovela World that I watched it with was so helpful, especially regarding the wonderful dialogue. Unfortunately it was on Telefutura, so there was no discussion group on Caray Caray. Mas Sabe el Diablo doesn't have that quality in dialogue, but the story and cast are so much better than anything else I can find on the air at this time that I think I will stick to this the second time around. Actually, when I already know the story it is easier to concentrate on the language, so maybe it is even more helpful the second or third time around.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – Viernes – Part 1

After demonstrating incredible skills in dispatching two thugs that were about to find their hiding place in the laundry truck, Sam tells Willy they have to get rid of those cell phones because they’re being used to track them. Sam has had it with police help and says they’re going to be on their own until court in the morning.

Rats! I had high hopes for a hot scene between Juan Marcos and Ángela, but I’ve got a bad feeling these two are going to hold off until the wedding night! At a crucial moment, she stops to think about how unfair this is to her daughter. JM tells her she said yes to Luis because she believed in a lie – that he was a famous mujeriego (skirt chaser). And he separated them because he was afraid for her safety being around the target of an assassin.

Luis is ranting to Fernanda about how much he loves Angie and Violeta. He says he’d kill to protect them. He remarks upon Fernanda’s reptilian lack of concern for her brother, whose life is threatened by a Mafioso. She tells him she only cares about her own safety and would only kill for her own benefit.

Things heat up again between JM and Ángela when her cell rings and she insists on answering it. It’s Luis telling her it’s her fault that Violeta is sick.

Sam finds refuge for she and Willy with a priest she’s known for some time. When they are alone in the church, Willy tells her she’s lied to him again and again.

When Ángela is at Violetita’s side, Luis makes a scene in front of the child, going into a jealous rant and asking where she was. She tells him her child was perfectly all right and with her father when she left, and she went to see Génesis, a child she’s become very fond of. The reptile drags him out of there reminding him his behavior is going to drive her away again. We get to see the old abusive male symptom again. He blows up. Then he apologizes for his behavior, justifying it as how much he loves her. Then he tries to kiss the woman he’s just browbeaten.

Ángela falls asleep beside Violeta. Her cell rings, and Luis answers JM’s call. He tells him his wife is sleeping by his side and don’t ever call her again.

Apparently Ofelia also knows that Bernie had his daughter pushed down the stairs. She accuses him of it.

Génesis draws a picture of her ideal family – consisting of JM, Ángela, Violeta and herself and shows it to JM. I’m not sure if it was right then or later when the reptile chimed in saying that Ángela had her own husband and child.

There is a parent’s day at the girls’ school, and JM and Ángela meet there by the tried and true telenovela accident. JM tells her he can’t stand the thought of Luis touching her, kissing her. I agree.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – Viernes – Part 2

There was an interesting exchange between Estela and Bernie. She’s visiting her granddaughter there. She tells him she knows the Sandoval family well. She was a servant in their house in México, and she lost her husband for this family. She tells him they never found the guilty parties, but she believes in divine justice and that one day she’ll find herself face to face with the guilty one. He has a funny look on his face. Hmmm. Could he have been behind it? Later he seems a little too interested in Estela, moving closer and asking her to be his nurse. They had said before that she was one and was having a hard time finding work.

The reptile is again slithering around JM’s house, trying to make nice with Génesis. When G says she wants Ángela to return, Fer says that maybe someday soon she’ll have a family and a mother of her own. G says that she dreamed last night that Ángela was her mother and that she had a REAL family. Sour expression on the reptile’s face.

Court is in session. We get to see more telenovela distortions of the US justice system. I thought it was the bailiff who called witnesses. Maybe I’m wrong. In this one the judge calls for Sam and Willy. Carreño gloats to his lawyer that they won’t appear. What happened to having the accused wear a suit to court? This guy is in his orange jumpsuit. A 30 minute recess is called. More gloating. At the very last minute Sam and Willy appear dressed as a nun and a priest! This is what Willy said he didn’t want to do before!

JM calls Inspector Marshall to his house and tells him about Irene Salas telling Ángela all those lies about him. [This strikes me as so not pertinent to Isabel’s murder.] The cop concludes that maybe they DO have a clandestine relationship. JM tells him that Ángela Valdez is not the sort to have a clandestine relationship. She is a woman with whom to have children, a woman to marry, a woman to spend the rest of your life with.

Sam is an excellent witness in court, describing all the attempts on Willy’s life and the murder of Paloma. She described her own kidnapping. Now we get more outrageous depictions of court procedure. Carreño’s lawyer, way before closing statements, starts testifying himself about his theory that Sam and Willy killed the woman and made the whole thing up.

Génesis tries to get rid of the reptile, telling her she has her Tía Emma to look after her.

I’m definitely getting tired of Violeta. The kid isn’t even close to being the actress that the one playing Génesis is. They remarked about her good grades in school, but she seems a bit dumb to me. Now she’s harping on about something her papí told her before, a church wedding. This is the telenovela equivalent of the nuclear option. The bad guy or bad woman is constantly trying to get the protagonist in front of a priest, thus latching onto them forever. Luis smirks that he’s pretty sure Fernanda is going to end up with JM. When JM himself appears, Luis announces the wedding as a fait accompli, even though Ángela has so far managed to resist Violeta’s wheedling.

MAS SABE EL DIABLO

One more thing about Miguel Varoni -- I have seen him when he wasn't a snooty sleazeball, in a movie called Ladron que Roba el Ladron with Fernando Colunga. He was a good guy. The villain was Saul Lisazo. Fun movie. The telenovela that made him famous in Colombia was Pedro el Escamoso, which was a comedy, and he was the protagonist, not a villain. I didn't see it, but I sure would like to.

Más sabe el diablo

Kayzie, that's right -- I forgot about "Ladrón que roba ladrón" -- Varoni was a crook but one on the side of the angels in that movie.

I also had a hard time letting go of "La hija del mariachi" and I agree completely with all superlatives you use to describe it.

There is a cable station called "Pasiones" that is currently airing "Pedro el escamoso" although I don't dare watch it -- I can't let myself get addicted to anything else. (I changed tv providers and now have too much of a good thing, including some surprising Spanish language programming.)

I thought "Alguien te mira" was compelling right up to the end although it was certainly flawed.

"La casa de al lado" was conceptually appealing but I agree -- it lost its voice somewhere midstream.

"Aurora" was probably just an embarrassment, in the end. It couldn't decide what it wanted to be -- it started out with the traditional story arc of a novela and then morphed into something like episodic tv. I had such high hopes for it ...

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Novelera, great recap. I agree, it looked as if Bernardo may have been behind the kidnapping of Samantha all those years ago. This was actually the second hint of this, the other day there was one, too, although I don't remember the exact circumstances. I have no clue as to how or why, but Bernardo certainly has something to hide.

I also agree as to how stupid the "trial" was. Where was the prosecutor? Sam and Willy were basically on their own. But of course it's all just to keep the drama level high. If the mafia guy goes free, more bodyguards have work, right?

I have a feeling something will happen to stop the wedding, if there is one, at the last minute. I also wouldn't be surprised if JM and Fernanda get engaged, as ridiculous as it seems now. What is pretty certain is that Angela won't have sex with Luis, ever. But JM could be drugged and have sex with Fernanda, if they follow 4 or 5 other novela conventions. I love this novela for the two leading females, and the action, but otherwise, it reminds of lots I've seen before. I get the feeling that the 8:00 ET show on Telemundo is the most traditional, the 9:00 show is in between, and the 10:00 show is the most daring, and that's been the formula for the last few cycles.

MÁS SABE EL DIABLO

I liked this one a lot. Realizing how young Jencarlos Canela is I felt rather creepy finding him as attractive as I did in this telenovela! He was waaay sexier in that one than he was in Mí Corazón Insiste. Guess it's that clichéd going for the bad boy that was happening. Although he was good at heart, he had a rougher edge in that novela.

I'm sorry I missed La Hija del Mariachi. I had heard it was good, but I think they were running it when I was watching two others and, like you NovelaMaven, I didn't dare look at it!

And, it's great to hear from you NovelaMaven. We miss you!

Kayzie, nice to hear from you also. I can't remember you posting before. It sounds like you're a real TN aficionada.

GENERAL

Hi Novelera,

I've missed my Telemundo buds too. I liked skimming all the conversations even when they were about shows I wasn't watching.

I find the new Blogger format a real obstacle to participating in more than one conversation. The absence of the "Notify me of follow-up comments" option is a big flaw. It was much easier when new comments appeared in and could be responded to in gmail.

Oh well.

I haven't seen Mas Sabe El Diablo but when I was reading about Varoni I immediately thought of "Ladron que roba ladron", which was the first thing I ever saw both him and FC in (I'm quite the rookie)...then I saw later comments mentioned it... such a cute, fun movie! Loved it!

Más sabe el diablo

Novelera - omg! I know what you mean by 'creepy.' Canela is only a year older than my son, and he is in the top 3 telenovios in my book. Jorge Luis Pila, and William Levy (no.1) being the other 2.

I love the cast. i.e. Topo/Perla, Horacio (everyone should have a gff gay friend forever),Leon (this was my first time seeing actor Roberto Mateos. He was totally different in Donde Esta Elisa and Herederos - really like him).

Kayzie - I found myself dvr-ing the series and watching it all over again.

Donde Esta Elisa is the other one I viewed from start to finish. Pila and Sonya Smith made a lovely pair.

I started watching La Hija del Mariachi, then went on youtube to advance my viewing, but got put off when he didn't go back to his family for a long time, it seemed not til the end.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – Viernes

Novelera - you had me in stitches with 'The reptile is again slithering around JM’s house.' LUV IT!

I missed Peralta/Emma. they better be on monday's epi.

Novelera,

I post once in awhile but not often on Caray Caray because I am not often watching what you guys are. I think the last thing I watched on Univision was Pasion, which is the only thing I have ever seen William Levy in. My general philosophy is that watching a telenovela for an hour a day is the most fun way to learn Spanish that I have found. I have watched some really bad ones in the past, but I have gotten much more picky. I figure I should be watching the best thing on at any given time. I often watch a few days of any new one, then make a decision to either jump ship and start a new one or continue with the one I am watching. Also, if I watch a few days in the beginning, I can always come back later and not feel too lost. Years ago I would watch anything to the end, so I had to train myself to bail out without withdrawal symptoms. Now it's easy, and I just don't find anything worth watching on Univision any more. And with El Talisman, it doesn't look like Univision producing its own TNs is going to be an improvement (although I love to read Caray Caray's recaps on this one -- what talented writers you folks are. Too bad you are not writing the TNs). I have some problems with Telemundo too but not to the same extent. I have spent more time on Telefutura lately (which is where LHDM was, as well as La Pola and India), but Caray Caray doesn't spend time discussing those (except for La Pola recently).

As for JenCarlos, I am old enough to be his grandmother, but I can still appreciate a great piece of eye candy when I see one. I agree with what you said about Mi Corazon Insiste. That was one I dropped after the first week and never returned to. But did you see him in Pecados Ajenos? He didn't have a lead role, but he sure did get my attention, especially in the hot scenes with Miguel Varoni's wife. The rough edges enhance his appeal in MSED, but the constant danger that surrounds his relationship and others in the story is what makes it so good -- lots of intrigue and close calls. I love it.

Kayzie, thanks for the interesting background on your telenovela watching. I have been in Spanish classes for many years. Somewhere along the way, a classmate told me about watching telenovelas to improve my conprehension. And I've been watching them ever since. The first one I watched all of was El Privilegio de Amar. That was because a Latina I work with told me when it was going to start. Previously I had a hard time understanding them because I began in the middle! It made a huge difference seeing the crucial first week when they basically lay out the plot elements.

The first one I watched on Telemundo was Los Plateados with Mauricio Islas.

I really liked the novelas de epoca with Fernando Colunga: Amor Real, Alborada, Pasión.

I'd say my favorite ever on Telemundo has been La Reina del Sur. They are re-running it on mun2 and I occasionally watch an episode.

I didn't see Pecados Ajenos, although a fellow novela watcher from my Spanish class liked it.

I did watch all of Mi Corazón Insiste.

Reina de Sur was one of those that I watched the first week of and then stopped, not because I didn't like it but because I was well into India (from Brazil) which was on at the same time. It was more that halfway finished, and I just couldn't stop that one. However, India was sometimes preempted by soccer games, and every time it was I would watch an episode of Reina. I also would read the discussions you folks were having about it so I could keep up. When India finished I watched the last three weeks of RDS. It feels like I watched the whole thing, even though I didn't. If it ever gets rerun here I will fill in the gaps. It certainly is a good one. I like Kate del Castillo a lot. Another of hers that I really liked was Ramona. I sure wish they would rerun that one.

Thanks for the Corazon Valiente recap. I love this show. All the actors have great chemistry. Telemundo shows move so much faster than Univision.

I too think Bernardo has a lot of secrets. But he seemed surprised that Sam and Willy had a teenage romance. And there have only been vague refs to his wife. I'm just hoping they aren't going to pull the whole Willy and Sam are siblings scenario. I see that one coming in Abismo de Passion.

No shows tonight...:( Preempted for futbol!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

And thank you for posting your comment, Jewels. We love hearing from new people.

Yes, tonight will be futbol.

I'll do a recap of Tuesday's episode.

Corazon Valiente
Does anyone remember if the Reptile was around when Genesis came down sick?

Mas Sabe El Diablo...I am trying to catch a peek of this when I come home for lunch. Watched the first run a couple years ago and loved-loved-loved it! It had great theme music too. There were so many twists and turns, interesting characters, etc. I looked for it on DVD but all I could find was a "prequel" movie.
J in Oregon

CORAZON VALIENTE

J in Oregon, the reptile didn't have anything to do with Génesis's fever and illness. It might have been stress from the awful Pamela bodyguard that made her sick.

What happened is the awful Pamela came into her room and was chewing her out because she was still in bed. She pulled off the covers and looked horrified. This was a fake-out that she'd run away to find Ángela, but in a later scene Pamela called JM to let him know the kid was burning up with fever.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Since the futbol match went so long, I had to tape the show, and couldn't watch it until today. Here are the highlights:

--Sebastian finds out from Orlando that Nora's Dad was deported. He guesses that she's "illegal" too, and proposes marriage to fix her problem!

Emily, Gonzo's sister, admits to Bob that Gonzo hit her (actually he just shook her when he thought she had swallowed his drugs as candy, but she never realized this). I'm sure Bob will never forgive this.

Olivares tells JP he's armed, and will harm Miranda if JP doesn't do something (like give him back his money, tell where Marta is, etc.)

If you ask me, Andres is DEFINITELY the druglord. Orlando asks him about his chauffeur, whom Oliver identified, and the way Andres talks to Victor, I think they want to "silence" the chauffeur! Meanwhile Victor offers Joaco a chauffeur job, and Joaco is very suspicious.

Leo sees all the drugs Gonzo and Javier have, but is still loyal to his friendship.

Ana tells Santi she's just not up for both the new principal job AND competing with Julia, who keeps manipulating Santi.

Teresa says Gilberto can stay at her house, which rich Ricardo pays for. Gil hears them talking about millions of dollars, and wants some for himself!

Mau comes home. After Olivia warns Carmen not to let Mau and Miranda be alone, sure enough, she catches them kissing! The jig is up, and Miranda's going down!!! (maybe).

They've been saying "new stage" for the last week, and I didn't see it. But if Miranda is actually caught, yes, that's a new stage. I did say last week that I couldn't see them getting away with this for the whole show, and that a tragedy was possible.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – MARTES – Part 1

Ángela is completely stunned and miserable as everyone continues to say she’s marrying Luis in the church. Violeta grins and grins. Fernanda puts on a phony congratulatory smile and takes her hand. Juan Marcos is absolutely miserable.

Estela accepts the job as Bernie’s nurse, all full of grins that she’s going to get to live with her daughter and granddaughter and, of course, be able to keep bitching at her daughter. Bernie the lech looks like he’s interested in Estela.

We see more stupid courtroom stuff and Carreño’s lawyer continues to make sh!t up and neither the judge nor the prosecutor does one thing to stop him.

Ángela finally runs out of the room, followed by Luis who tells her Violeta deserves that church wedding. He tries to pretend he thinks she’s crying from happiness, but she calls him on it. “Luis, we’re alone. There’s no need to pretend. I’m not crying from joy and you know it. I feel pressured. And you’re always using Violeta against me, putting her in the middle of it. And you do that because you know how much I love my daughter. I never even said yes, and now the whole world knows about this wedding.” Of course, he says “Go ahead and tell her Violeta that you don’t love me. Tell her there’s another man.” He grabs her face and asks who it is. [He can’t seem to grasp that she’d rather be completely alone than be with him.]

The reptile chases JM as he tries to leave the house, stunned by the church wedding announcement. He almost gets away, but then Bernie shows up talking about Willy’s trial and asking if there’s any news about the murderer of Isabel. JM says he hopes they find the guilty party soon. Fernanda slinks away and Bernie notices this. Bernie asks why Isabel’s mother and sister [Sister? Is this new; I don’t remember a sister being mentioned?] When he tries again to leave, the reptile pretends to faint and is rewarded with him carrying her up to her room.

Things are not going well in court. It turns out the cop who came to the scene where the porno actress was shot lies on the stand, saying Carreño wasn’t there when he arrived. Willy blows up. The mafioso’s lawyer snarks about the wife of the Mafioso and the porno star, both lovers of Willy, being dead. Willy tells him that he assures him that the majority of his lovers are alive and well. And, when he has a LOT of time on his hands, he’ll make a list and give it to the lawyer!

Ángela appears to have given in about the wedding. They go back and forth, her wanting a longer time and him a shorter time until the big day. She avoids even a kiss on the cheek from him.

Fernanda objects vehemently when JM wants to call a doctor. She says she was worried about Willy. Bernie looks veeery skeptical at this. When she and JM are alone, she crawls right over and practically inserts herself in his arms. Ángela, of course, comes in. She heard about the fainting spell and is offering her services as a nurse. JM jumps away as if scalded. She tries to lure him back in, but Ofelia comes in with a tray and he makes his escape.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – MARTES – Part 2

Sleazy little Gabriel sends a text to some woman about a bootie call. Then he tells Emma he has to go to work.

JM has chased Ángela after the convenient Ofelia entrance. He tells her he stayed in a marriage where he was unhappy for his daughter’s sake.

What is wrong with that prosecutor? Carreño is on the stand and she asks him a couple of innocuous questions and doesn’t challenge him at all.

Luis tells the reptile that he’s sure that Ángela and JM have something going on together. He saw JM’s face when the wedding was announced. He asks Fernanda if she knows if they’ve been “together”.

Pamela continues to try to scuttle Ángela, telling JM that guarding Génesis was her first job and before that she baked cakes. JM says that Ángela told him bringing the cake to his parents’ anniversary party was part of a “mission”. Just then the standard TN cop who overhears everything walks in and asks about the cake.

Luis tries to get Ángela to put on some sexy red thing that the reptile bought. He says he wants the pleasure of taking it off her. She looks him right in the eye and says she can’t and furthermore she doesn't want to. She explains that she can’t get over what went on before in their marriage. He agrees to wait until their church wedding night and says he’ll be faithful to her.

Pedro has accompanied Emma and Gabriel to a nightclub. A friend of Emma’s named Sol shows up. [It’s Paloma Márquez, who played Adelita in Mi Corazón Insiste; I had to look it up because she looks so different to me.] This Sol goes gaga over Pedro and makes Emma jealous. The next day she tells Pedro Sol wouldn’t be a good choice for him. He laughs and pushes her in the pool. She pulls him in. They laugh and kiss.

The prosecutor comes to put some moves on Willy. So not only is she incompetent, she’s unprofessional!

Luis wasn’t faithful long. He sneaks into the reptile’s room and asks her to wear the sexy garment. In the morning they're still in bed together. My hopes are dashed because I thought Ángela caught them, but Luis managed to hide his head.

We find out what’s eating Pamela. Diego broke it off with her right about the time Ángela came to the agency. He tells Pamela there’s nothing between them now, and she needs to lay off Ángela and get over herself.

JM and Ángela are in an elevator together, with JM trying to stop it, and Ángela trying to get it to go to the right floor. She admits she lied about the cake delivery being part of her work. She says she didn’t think he’d trust her to watch his daughter if he knew it was her first job. They argue some more and then kiss. Of course, the elevator door opens and Marshall the cop is standing there!

CORAZON VALIENTE:
Thanks so much, Novelera, for the great recaps for Friday and Tuesday!

The whole trial thing is SO STUPID! Didn't the policeman file a report at the time of the shooting about who was there, etc.? He could recant it but at least the prosecutor could attack his credibility. And having the prosecutor come on to Willy - really? It's sloppy writing - so unnecessary - especially when we have the example of well written novelas like Flor Salvaje and La Reina del Sur.

Poor Angela and JM. They are at the mercy of manipulators like Luis and the reptile, not to mention their own noble characters. I'm sure that they will get together soon.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

gracias novelera!! so glad JM didn't continue to stay w/ Reptilia. she was really miffed.

I recognized Sol right away from Mi Corazón Insiste. maybe she'll end up w/ 'Diego' (Fulgencio) this time... ha!

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Thank you, Novelera, fun recap of a pretty wild episode. I love the fact that just about everybody is now living in the same house. Let's see: Bernardo, Ofelia, Willy, Sam, Fernanda, Luis, Angela and Violeta. And at JM's house we have JM, Genesis, Diego, Emma, and Peralta (I think his first name is Pablo). This all makes for lots of listening in and discoveries.

When Angela burst into Fernanda's room, she definitely noticed the Reptile had a "guest", but didn't see who it was. She blamed herself for not noticing someone must have entered the house. Fernanda later told her it was her "secret lover" and to keep quiet about it. The other day, Willy actually saw Fernanda and Luis in bed together. So several people almost know this, and one day, it'll get out.

Reptile was her usual self when Ofelia brought her food since she "fainted from starving". She roughly knocked the tray from Ofelia's hands saying, I was faking, dummy!

I agree that prosecutor was incompetent AND unprofessional, making a play for Willy. But if the mafia guy gets convicted, no bodyguards will be needed. It's better for our story for him to go free.

The idiot cops are sure to blame Angela and JM for Isabel's death, and Willy and Sam for the mafia guy's wife's death. Do we ever see any SMART cops? (actually there is one on Relaciones Peligrosas, see below).

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 1

Well, the s* definitely hit the fan! After Mau says to Miranda, just ten seconds of kissing will hold us for the 10 months we have to wait until I'm "legal", Carmen walks back in, and sees them! She drops her glass, which shatters. She slaps Miranda, yells how could she corrupt her innocent little son. Out of the house! And you're going to jail! Carmen also finds out (from silences) that Sofia and Manuel (now back on his boat on the high seas where he works) knew, so they betrayed her, too! She says her marriage is over, and starts packing Manuel's clothes!

Mau tries to calm her down, it was all his fault, he forced Miranda into this, don't file a complaint or I'll be the unhappiest person in the world. He denies having sex. Later, Carmen visits Miranda, asks if they had sex, and Miranda stays silent (she's crying away, though). Carmen takes this as a yes. After some pleading by Miranda, Carmen says she won't file a complaint.

When she talks to Sofia and Mauricio, they beg her to leave things as they are. She, however, has to protect her little boy, and says things will be as they'll be.

Ironically, Olivia has admitted that she was wrong. Orlando tells her to apologize to Carmen, which she does by phone. Carmen says nothing at this point, boiling in the background.

Since Olivia was "wrong", the police are also told not to follow JP anymore. This gives Olivares his chance. He approaches JP with a gun, and says he'll kill Miranda if JP doesn't return his money! JP had moved the money from behind the picture in his apartment, to inside a cabinet in Miranda and Patty's place (unbeknownst to them). JP also returns Mau's jacket and wallet, and reams out Mau for almost getting Miranda in trouble. Mau realizes JP actually helped him. But he's in such shock, he's getting head pains, and can barely stand (left over from his coma).

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Even though I don't like Olivia, she actually is the only smart cop in town. She saved Mau and Miranda from Indio by shooting him, and her hunch about their relationship is right. She also suspects Andres in the drug thing, although clueless Orlando doesn't. She says, "how come Andres's chauffeur spent so much time at the car wash (where Billy sold drugs), when he should have washed the car himself? which is what rich people's chauffeurs do. Also, when she goes to interview the chauffeur, she's greeted by Benita, Gonzo's Mom, who says in a trembling voice, are you here about my son? So Olivia may be the only one to put the pieces together.

Ana suspects Gonzo and Javier, keeps seeing them going into the bathroom a lot, wishes they could put cameras in there, but of course then SHE'd be arrested as a sexual predator. She again tells Santi he's just letting his ex-wife into his life, she's not going to fight it.

Cassius was jealous of Leo at the dance, drew a picture of Leo and Sofi dancing and sent it to her. She wants to tell him nothing's going on with Leo.

Nora says she can't marry Sebastian, that's crazy, btw, she was born in the US (not true), so not worries, right?

At the end of the episode, we have two cliffhangers: 1) JP enters his apartment, notices the picture where the money used to be is ajar, grabs a gun, but gets KNOCKED OUT by Olivares! and 2) Carmen DOES go to Olivia, and reports Miranda as abusing a minor! Noooooooo!!!!!

La bella Ceci y el imprudente...

I see where this Colombian novela will be replacing Esclava Isaura in that morning slot next Tuesday the 10th, has anyone seen this one?

Corazon Valiente...

I'm watching this one, but don't have much to say, this isn't what I would call a deep story, plus it reminds me a lot of Aurora, with a different story and characters, but I do enjoy the action scenes.

thank you so much novelera for your wonderful recaps,
(I keep waiting for Fernanda's tongue to come slithering out like a snakes').

Relaciones Peligrosas...

although I see parts of this one it really hasn't pulled me in but I want to say I love reading Hombre de Misterio's summaries every day.

btw, an old article I read said that this story would be linked with twitter, as in

"16 character Twitter handles, managed by the Telemundo social media team, send nightly tweets live during both the East and West Coast broadcasts of the show. The content of the tweets will relate directly to on-air events as they were prepared by the writing team of the novela.
For example, a message from a student shown texting or tweeting on the show could be shared with fans who follow that character's Twitter feed. Similarly, a character who is only seen in the background of a scene or shown passing by may react on his Twitter account to a scene that he just
witnessed."
ref: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/telemundo-social-tv-strategy-relaciones-peligrosas-284155

is this true and is anyone following this part?

GENERAL

Deb! Nice to hear from you.

I also read Hombre's first rate recaps every day. If Miranda has been "outed" that will definitely be a game changer.

I am fascinated by what you posted about a twitter tie-in to Relaciones Peligrosas. I am afraid this ship sailed for me long ago. I don't do Facebook and I don't tweet.

I suppose, since the novela is about teenagers, it would be logical to have that twitter thing as a component.

As an aside, that twitter thing is embarrassing some public figures. Hello, Spike Lee!

MAS SABE EL DIABLO

If you are watching this, don't miss the next few episodes. Lots of things are going to happen. We have already seen things in preparation for this. For example:

We have discovered that there are two crooked cops in cohoots with El Hiero. Poor Jimmy doesn't realize this.

Martin has been told by Manuela's father that if he doesn't get back together with her he won't be put in charge of the firm when he dies because he isn't part of the family. Martin has already killed someone he thought (wrongly) that Manuela was seeing. Even Cristian is getting scared (as well he should be). This guy has no limits when comes to getting what he wants.

Marina has figured out that Martin and El Hiero are the same person.

Manuela and Virginia (and novios) are out of town for the weekend and end up at the house in the Hamptons together. Surprise, surprise!! This weekend is not going to turn out as planned for anyone.

Mas Sabe El Diablo
Wish this was being rebroadcast on prime-time! I would totally be watching it again. Isabel's bodyguard from Corazon Valiente (who already got killed) had a small part on Mas Sabe as a district attorney who was in love with Manuela.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – miércoles

Thanks to Novelera for doing recaps of Friday and Tuesday. I will see what I can do from memory for yesterday’s episode. I was cooking at the time and didn’t pay that close attention.

The police question Ángela about her relationship with JM and say that she is a suspect in the murder of Isabel.

Mafia guy was convicted.

Gabriel makes moves on Emma and she throws him out again saying that she will never have sex with him. Peralta confesses to Nelly that he is in love with Emma. Because of that, he doesn´t want to be her bodyguard any more. He tells JM that he wants to switch and be JM´s bodyguard and Diego will be Génesis’ bodyguard.

JM pumps his Diego about Ángela’s employement history as a bodyguard and what is up with Pámela. Diego tells him that he had a relationship with Pámela that ended right before he started working for JM. JM also asks Diego if bodyguards can request their assignments. Diego replies that he doesn´t know. It would up to the boss.

Sam believes that since Mafia guy was convicted, her bodyguard assignment is over. Darío pressures her to take over his business as a general manager.

It certainly seems extra risky to have illicit sex in a house as full as Bernardo´s. Sam walks in on Perla and Bernardo. Darío wonders where his wife is. Later, Bernardo tells Sam that he had an affair with Perla because Darío had one with his wife and his wife committed suicide because of that. He keeps on having relations with Perla because he likes her.

The reptile gets Ángela to admit that she loves JM.

Sol makes advances on JM and tells him that she is looking for a job. We find out that Sol is the sister of Gonzalo, whom we know was murdered by the reptile. The reptile finds this out, too. Fernanda decides to kill someone but I wasn´t sure who it was.

Ángela and JM get into a big fight but later JM is trying to kiss her. I wasn´t sure what that was about.

Estela admits to Perla that she is out to destroy her.

There is a party at Bernardo´s that I think is in celebration the conviction of the Mafia guy.

I´m sure there was more that I´ve forgotten.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 1

This show is EXPLODING with excitement in its new phase! Yes, Miranda is caught! What will happen?

First, let's take care of the side stories. When last we left JP, Olivares had knocked him out in his own apartment. He wakes up, tied to a chair, with a gun pointed at his head. Where's my money? JP is mum. Oh, you think I can't kill you, because then I'll never get my money? Okay, I'll shoot you in the leg. How's that gonna be, Mr. Phys Ed instructor? JP trembles, wait, no, I'll tell you the truth. MARTA took all your money! (oh the little slime you are, JP). And I don't have a clue where she is! Oliveras a) doesn't believe this, and b) doesn't care, he wants his money now, and aims at the leg again. Wait, wait, I can get you money, LOTS of money. I've got a "business" deal cooking, you can have half. But give me time. Oliveras goes along with this for now. He wants 50%, which JP does not want to give.

Gilberto wants 50%, too, of Ana and his belongings, to sign the quick divorce. Ana says no way, I've always paid way more than half of everything, you're a bum, I'm a principal, I get what I deserve. Gilberto: See you in court.

Andres yells at the chauffeur, what did you tell that cop, you idiot! There's a lot of yelling between Andres, the chauffeur and Victor. All of this is heard by Benita, who may suspect that Andres is involved in something. Leo hears a little, too. Benita asks Leo, where is Gonzalo? Leo can't tell. Well, just assure me he's not into anything bad. Leo is silent. Benita is suspicious.

We then see Gonzalo getting drugs from Javier in the school parking lot, and selling them to kids. Santiago takes pictures of this on his cell phone. Benita also is observing, approaches Gonzalo, saying I KNEW you were doing illegal stuff! Wait, Mom, these drugs are legal, they're just cheaper than at the pharmacy. She says, I don't care, you're not a doctor, it's still illegal. You have to stop. Gonzalo says, mind your own business, I'll do as I please. You're gonna have choose..between Bob and Me!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

hola Jean. Génesis crossed the reptile, so now she's on her list.

that Pamela just irks me.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 2

So Carmen is talking to Olivia, I want that woman put away in jail, that abuser! Well, asks Olivia, when you saw them kissing, were they clothed? Well, yes. Sorry, but it's not illegal for a teacher to kiss her student. But if I hadn't come in, they WOULD have had sex! Sorry, I'm as frustrated as you, says Olivia, I've suspected it for a while, but we need more proof. Well you better get the proof. Do your job! thunders Carmen. Olivia approaches another cop who confirms there's not enough proof, even with the fingerprints on the condom wrapper. Olivia wants to keep all this away from Orlando.

Mau is really in pain, the shock that his Mom knows is making his condition worse. Carmen goes to
Dr. Hector, asking for pain medicine. He says we could give normal meds, and Mau would get better fast, or we could give stronger meds, which would prolong his recovery, but make him totally sedated. Carmen goes for "totally sedated". Yes, she's sure. Hector just happens to have the correct pills in a vial on his shelf. But just one a day, right? Carmen then goes home, and tells Mau to take TWO each day!

Mau falls asleep, and Carmen finds a love letter from "Isolde" on pink stationery. She grabs it, before Sofia can stop her, and takes it to Olivia. That's all we need, says O. Manuel came home, and Carmen, on a rampage, wants him out of the house, he betrayed her!

And Miranda? In shock, she meets with Cortez the lawyer, who tells her the good news, based on what you've said, so far they have no proof. So you can't be sent to jail for kissing a student. But you could be fired. You should resign. Miranda decides to do that, goes to see Ana, starts telling her what happened, how Mau lied about his age, how he kept coming on to her, how she made a mistake, and now she's quitting.

But before Ana can decide what to do, Teresa says the cops are here. Led by Olivia, they drag Miranda out, handcuff her, and in front of the whole school, looking on in horror, Olivia says you have the right to remain silent, etc. What's the charge? asks Ana. Miranda Cruz, you are hereby arrested for sexual abuse of a minor!!! Her life destroyed, Miranda is led away, hands cuffed behind her back. Outside, Mauricio (who faked something with the drugs, and was able to drive to the school) can only watch in shock as his Princess Isolde is led to the dungeon!

Next time: Girls behind bars!

CORAZON VALIENTE:
Thanks so much Jean. You remembered quite a bit. Another thing that happened is that Estela blurted out to everyone that she and Perla were once servants in Dario's home. This is a surprise to Ofelia and Bernie. He didn't know that Perla came from such humble origins. Perla expresses her displeasure at Estela, and that's when Estela makes it clear she's out to destroy Perla. Ofelia was grinning the whole time in the background as these two went at it. I think Ofelia is also quite happy to know Perla was a servant just like she is. Ha!

It's starting to be difficult to keep track of the older adults' love/sex life:
-Bernie is having a long-term affair with Dario's wife, Perla, because Dario had an affair with his wife.
-Dario had an affair with Bernie's wife, and is currently having an affair with Bernie's servant Ofelia.
-Perla had an affair with Estela's husband Miguel.
-Perla's child Sam is not Dario's, but is really Miguel's (making Sam and Angela sisters). Perla and Estela know, but no ones else knows.
-Bernie's favorite child Willy, is really Dario's. Dario knows, but no one else seems to. Hence Dario will do whatever he can to keep Sam and Willy apart since he believes they are siblings.
Whew!

I like how Genesis seems to have a good sense for who she should trust and who she shouldn't, although it makes her look like a brat to the ignorant adults. Unfortunately, it has put her on Fernanda's hit list. Violeta meanwhile, is as dumb as a bag of rocks (although very sweet) and trusts anything that comes out of the mouths of these evil people. Even when her mother was alive and tried the manipulative games Luis does, Genesis still had enough sense to question and challenge her.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

Wow, that sounds like a very action filled episode, Hombre.

I saw the "reading of rights" scene by the despicable Olivia, so I knew Miranda got arrested.

That's nuts that Mauricio's mother would double up his medication! What kind of mother does that? Is she trying to kill him or make him dependent on the medication? Sheesh.

Corazon Valiente

thanks Jean for the summary,

and thanks Vivi for sorting out all of the love in this story, whew,

they should all just live in the one house,

this reminded me of earlier, when it was revealed that the person responsible for Sam's kidnapping has never been discovered, with an odd look by Bernardo,

and last night, if I got this right, wasn't it revealed that Bernardo had discovered that Darío was sleeping with his wife, and was in full revenge mode, about the same time that Sam was kidnapped?

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks, Jean, for the great recap. Your memory amazes me. I wrote down a couple of things that stood out for me and managed to leave them on the coffee table at home.

Vivi, nice succinct analysis of all the marital infidelities. Actually, we probably need a chart with solid lines for who's married to whom and dotted lines for who slept with whom.

One thing I do remember is Bernie, I think, asking Darío when his affair with his wife started. He said it was around the time Samantha was kidnapped. Now we have been assuming that he thinks Sam and Willy are siblings, although he hasn't said so out loud. He just says "these two can never be together". But, if he's telling the truth and the affair began around the time of Sam's kidnapping, then he can't be Willy's father. Sam and Willy are the same age. Also, all these people have been together in a room a bunch of times, and I've never seen Darío show any interest in Willy at all. Wouldn't the writers have him look at him fondly once in a while if he were his father?

I'm now wondering about that funny look on Bernie's face when Estela said she wanted to be face to face with the one responsible for Sam's kidnapping and her husband's death. We speculated that Bernie might have been behind it. Could it have been revenge for Darío's affair with his wife?

Vivi, I agree completely about the difference between Génesis and Violeta. Violeta gets on my nerves because she's so sickeningly sweet all the time and swallows big spoonfuls of daddy lies all the time.

Génesis has spirit! I loved it when she got right in The Reptile's face. I'm sure they aren't going to kill off that adorable child, but an attempt appears to be in the offing.

I just can't stand Estela. She's not a villain exactly, but she's just alternately a sourpuss with her daughter and snarling at Perla. She didn't appear to even notice when Perla told her she sacrificed herself by marrying Darío so that Estela and Miguel's marriage wouldn't fall apart.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Deb, two minds with a single thought. We posted our thoughts about Bernie at the same time!

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Novelera, I agree, Carmen is extreme in doubling the dose of medicine. She just wants to protect her little darling from himself, knowing he'll do anything to go see that evil Miranda.

BTW, I forgot another violent scene. Santiago is going to go on a date with Ana, but Julia hears the phone conversation. She breaks a wine glass and cuts her own hand on purpose! Then she screams for Santi that she had an accident, needs stitches, he has to take her to the hospital, and that's it for the date with Ana!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE- Thanks Vivi and Novelera for the fill ins. I did forget about Estela revealing the "shameful" truth that she and Perla were once servants.

Maybe Pámela will sacrifice herself to save Génesis or at least will get killed instead of Génesis. That would be nice.

I find Violeta to be a more normal child than Génesis. She doesn't know anything bad about Luis and she just wants a happy family. It's a little cloying, perhaps. Génesis, on the other hand, is a spoiled brat - one of these precocious children created by the writers to say what adults can't. She insists on getting her own way. She appears to be more perceptive than Violeta (and all the adults) but I don't find it convincing.

CORAZON VALIENTE

What a pleasant surprise to see Adelita from Mi Corazon in the same room again with Fulgencio/Diego! They were by far my favorite pair in Lola Volcan, and I'm still traumatized by how that one ended! Yeah, it's a longshot, but would love a Sol/Diego pareja, just to have those two together again!

AnotherAmy

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – JUEVES

This will be a short one, just to get the ball rolling. JM and Ángela kiss passionately. Unfortunately, nasty Pamela catches them at it.

This was a party to remember! Every room had a confrontation – or two! Sam accepts being the head of her father’s aviation company but refuses his embrace.

Darío almost denies an affair with Nora to Bernie. He wonders why Bernie can be so calm about it. Bernie says that Nora was unfaithful to him many times, so why lose his best friend over it.

Luis gets sloshed on champagne meant for the guests. He paws Ángela, breaking his promise to wait until the wedding. He taunts JM about how HE has her.

Ángela finally knees Luis to get him away and JM socks him in the jaw.

Willy says he doesn’t want another bodyguard. It’s Sam or nobody. She tells him she’s the daughter of the man for whom his mother killed herself, and she has to go.

Bernie’s lie about Nora killing herself for Darío doesn’t last long. Willy goes after Darío, who tells him his thing with his mother was without importance and she would never have killed herself for him. He says the only one she ever loved was Bernardo.

When Willy goes to his room, the prosecutor is in his bed. He’s hurt over Sam leaving so takes advantage of the opportunity.

Emma is trying to make Pablo jealous with Diego. Pamela sees Emma’s behavior and looks daggers because she’s still got a thing for Diego.

Willy confronts his father about what Darío said. This is after he gets a typed threatening letter. He tells his dad he doesn’t believe what he says and he won’t rest until he finds out what happened to his mother.

Marshall tells Fernanda she has the perfect alibi. He’s found out all about the high school bullying. When he gets in her face, the reptile admits it all and cries crocodile tears.

Emma sees Nelly going after Peralta. She then tries to seduce him in her room. When he can’t resist her, she cries rape.

Sam tells Darío at the company that she wants him gone that very day. She hates him because he took her child away from her.

Pamela isn’t much of a bodyguard after all. She apparently flunked the defensive driving school and manages to crash the car she and Génesis are in while The Reptile’s hired killers are pursuing them. The car lands upside down and catches on fire.

CORAZON VALIENTE:
Wow, thanks Novelera! The way the older adults lie and then admit partial truths makes it really hard to keep their stories straight and know what's true or false. I hope Willy does dig and finds out what really happened with his mother.

The end and the previews looks bad for Genesis. Didn't someone yesterday say they wouldn't kill a kid. Well...

Emma's games were cute to annoying, up until now. This latest one is repugnant. I hope she's off her meds and that's the excuse. Either way, after this stunt I would never want to see her again in my life if I was Peralta.

A few more things that happened: Angela catches Sol kissing JM. He runs after Angela, swearing he has nothing going with Sol, and kisses her passionately. Sam finally melts into a passionate kiss with Willy and just then the lawyer shows up and it's obvious she spent the night (with Willy). If she wasn't dead set on leaving before, that seals the deal for Sam. In her new sexy businesswoman wear, Sam starts work for her dad's aviation company. She drops the bomb on him that her condition for working there is that he leave. He thinks she means a power transition over a period of time, which he's cool with. She means TODAY, right this second, don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord slit ya!

CORAZON:
Don't know how I missed your sentence about Sam wanting Dario out Novelera. Reading too fast. But finally we get to talk about the child she had will Willy. Can't wait to hear Dario's excuse for forcing her to give up her baby.

Corazon Valiente:

Thanks for the quick recaps. Last night felt like the scene at the end of "secret to my success" with all the bed hopping.

Please don't kill Genesis...I'm hoping the advances were leading us on. JM has lost everyone but his loca sister. Which brings me to Emma. She was starting to redeem herself on meds but this was below the belt.

It is hard to keep track of all the lies and half truths on this show. You miss one line and you're in the dark. I kind of figured there was something in Sam's past with the flash backs with a baby. I was thinking abortion but maybe Vivi is on the right track with adoption. This is the secret she's been trying to tell Willy. Glad she's a hard a-- with him. Especially since he hooked up with the DA.

I remember Berni telling the reptile a while back about the only time he blotched a murder was with her mother (?) ...since he is in the know with all the reptiles death blows and is worried that she isn't as smart as him to evade the police.

Anyway, cant wait for tonight's show. At least Pamela will be out of the picture due to her really bad driving, but poor Genesis... Maybe they will stage her death to confuse the killer! Felt bad for her ever since she lost her mother on two novelas on the same night (Abismo de Passion).

Jewels

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Great recaps, Novelera and Vivi! Here's a few MORE things that happened. Fernanda got on Luis's case that getting drunk and forcing Angela is pretty stupid, she told him not to do that. Also, Fernanda had sex with Vicente (or maybe just let him sleep next to her). He said to her, did you ever think that your version of what happened (that JM pushed her) could be wrong? She doesn't really consider this.

I'm pretty sure (but not positive) that Marshall said Fernanda had the perfect motive, not alibi, that she would want revenge for losing that baby. Marshall sure is big on motives, but not too hot with any evidence.

I'm not so sure if Sam had a baby conceived at the age of 15 that would have been a good thing.

So Sam is going to be general manager of a huge "empire", with absolutely no experience, and her father (the one WITH experience) out of the company. Okaaaaaaay.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 1

I've observed that while lots of people comment that what Miranda did is illegal and has grave consequences, few have actually condemned her morality. Well, Carmen changes this, tearing into Miranda. She tells Mau how horrible it was that Miranda seduced him. When he says it was the other way around, she says I don't want any sordid details! She yells at Manuel, she can never trust him again. What else did he lie about? He says he was trying to understand his son, get close to him. She tells Mau one day you'll thank me. Mau says you're wrong. Look me in the eyes. I'm a man now. If you know me, you'll see that my love for Miranda is sincere. Carmen isn't convinced.

Miranda is hustled off to jail, where she's given a cellmate named America, who's sort of your stereotypical "bull dyke" from novelas, and tries to terrorize Miranda. What are you in for? Miranda lies, says she robbed a business. Another prisoner, whose nickname is "Conejo" (Hah! same as the one in Reina del Sur!) says American has committed more crimes in jail than out. If she finds out you lied about what you're in for, you're in big trouble!

At the end of the last episode, Olivares had clocked JP on the head violently with his gun. JP wakes up with a big headache (in real life, he'd have a concussion at least), and thinks to himself he's just going to have to kill Olivares. Later, when he hears that Miranda went to jail (from a crying Patty), he thinks to himself "this is my big chance". Huh? He tells Patty he'll raise the money for Miranda's bail somehow, even if he has to sell his car (of course, he's got lots of cash hidden in Miranda's apartment).

Olivares finds Marta, his daughter, and says JP told me all about you, how you took all the money. Where is it? Marta says she feels like she's gonna be sick.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 2

Benita is distraught about Gonzalo, who said she had to choose between him and Bob. Bob says you have to choose between Gonzalo and Emily. We can't take Gonzo back, his drug dealing could ruin little Emily's life. So Benita is crying away at her maid job at Nena's house, so Nena says what's wrong? After Benita fills her in about how worried and powerless she feels about Gonzo, Nena say's SHE'LL talk to him (remember, Gonzo has a crush on her).

Santi has shown Gonzo he has pictures of the drug deals. He tells Javier, who says, no prob. Remember Mr. Santi used to have a drug problem. Let's whip up a little "cocktail" and put him right back in his element! Gonzo goes to talk to Nena who says, I really care about you. Isn't there any way I can get you to turn your life around? Gonzo flashes to the plan with Javier to does Santi. I wonder what he'll decide.

At the school, Ana announces what happened to the teachers. Julia and Gilberto smirk, most of the others are shocked. Patty, shaking with emotion, tells them all they're not so perfect!

Manuel goes to see Orlando. He thinks Olivia is taking this thing too far. Manuel wants to help his son. You have a son, Orlando, you know how it is. If Miranda is in jail for years, this will destroy Mauricio. Can you help? Orlando does want to help, tells Olivia, if your case isn't airtight, I'm filing a complaint against YOU!

Nora is crying at the though of Miss Miranda being taken away. Why, Nora? asks Alejo. She confides in him, the Migra took away my Dad. And what's more, my parent lied to me all these years. I'm illegal, too! Sebastian overhears this.

Mau did get a chance to have a few words with Miranda before she was taken away. He tells her "deny everything. I will, and they can't prove it." He's so mad at his mother that he goes to live with Yesi (she's happy about this).

Previews show us why jail is sometimes called "the slammer"!

CORAZON:

Hombre- Yes, it would have been challenge for Sam to be a mother at 15, but she clearly wanted to keep her baby. Her parents seem to have ignored her wishes, and swept it under the rug like it never happened. If the thing they were concerned about was the scandal of an unwed teen mother daughter, then that's a pretty pathetic excuse for emotionally scarring their daughter. (And they don't seem concerned about the scandals their own affairs might cause.) They had enough money to help provide child care while Sam continued with her studies. It wouldn't have been a real challenge for them. If Dario's only reason is a fear of incest, which has not yet been confirmed, since Sam doesn't know that it makes no sense to her. And Perla went along with Dario's wishes for the baby to be gone. Why?

Corazon:

Valid points. But in Mexico, a baby at 15 is not uncommon. Of course, being upper class, they may have different standards.

Fernanda and Vicente just slept in the same bed, no hokey pokey. She just wanted to be held (abrazada). When she woke up, she told him she dreamed of JM all night. He looked peeved, why does he want her?

Jewels

CORAZON:

Vivi, you make some good points. I also thank you for the analysis the other day of the various parents' secrets. They're so hard to keep straight. We definitely have a lot of mysteries to discover, such as Sam's, and Bernardo's.

Jewels, I agree, why does he want her? I guess Vicente is just a pathetic, love struck puppy, who thinks Fernanda is the cat's meow. Ironically, he's played tough druglords in every other novela in which I've seen him, and this meek thing is pretty funny to me!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE - JUEVES

Hombre, yes! I typed and posted that thing FAST as I was short on time.

I did mean Marshall had told Fer she had the perfect motive, not alibi. And even though I got a thrill of joy at the thought Marshall was on to her, I'm sure she'll talk or show cleavage her way out of it.

Jewels, I agree. Vicente's attitude toward Fernanda makes no sense at all. It was also pretty dumb to show her falling asleep in her pushup bra and high heels. She can't resist torturing the guy, telling him all the time how much she loves JM. When he tries to get away from her, she pulls him back in!

I noticed she hasn't said anything for a couple of weeks about getting JM to fall in love with her and then killing him. I wonder if the writers thought that was as dumb as I do and scuttled it. I have read that often the episodes are written barely ahead of "lights, camera, action".

Corazon Valiente
Hahaha Novelera: I've never seen "show-cleavage" used as a legal term to avoid prosecution!
And, much as I love the main characters, they are overdoing the plot device with JM and Angela where one sees the other one being hugged-kissed-groped by someone else, gets mad, they make up and kiss, then the whole thing starts again. Enough for one week!
J in Oregon

CORAZON:

Novelera- LOL! I thought the same thing. Why is she sleeping like that when she's usually all over the house in a slinky robe? Or when they wake up in the morning with full makeup.

Good point about them writing as they are filming. I know Univision TNs have a crazy schedule, can't imagine the telemundo schedule. They go at breakneck speeds. Can't help but thinking they are filming in Miami but using CA plates on the cars. Anytime they are driving down a deserted road, it doesn't look like LA.
