CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Sorry guys, late recap. My son came by for an unexpected visit and he doesn't speak Spanish. So I'll have to finish watching the novela and posting the recap tomorrow. Motherhood trumps all!

ROSA DIAMANTE -

Anon Fri Aug 24, 10:05:00 PM EDT

I believe you're right - Rosaura is Rosa's biological mother.

Here's an amusing avance for Monday with Ms Margaret...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1rtLLnAmL4

Rosaura's son in the picture frame was muy guapo.

How is Rosa going to explain to JI why she blurted to Barbie that he was Eduardito's father? hmmmm

And Andrea confessing to Rosa about her murderous past - thank heavens that's out. Now she has to tell Rosa of Gabriel's role in the disappearance of the body. oh when, oh when?

ROSA DIAMANTE -

hi J in Oregon,

let me embellish a little to what shallowgal said,
since I think you indicated you didn't see the early shows,
and this is all so confusing anyway,

on Eva,
she was the daughter of Rosaura and Eduardo's son and his wife,
they were killed in a car crash,
and Rosaura blamed Eva for losing her son.

on Andrea,
I'm not sure, but I think she is the daughter of Rosauro and Eduardo's son but with a lover.

on Rosa,
we saw a baby born, but did not see the mother,
Eduardo paid the doctor to get rid of any records,
we saw Rosaura bring a baby to Raquel, and tell her to get rid of it,
giving her a handful of diamonds, including the rosa diamante, to cover the cost,
she didn't want to know the details, but threatened to kill Raquel if anyone found out,
we see Raquel deliver the baby to a school, explain the terms of her care, and pay with the diamonds,
Miss Margret actually named the baby Rosa, after the rosa diamante,
and when Rosa became 18, the deal was complete, including giving the rosa diamante to Rosa

Eva was placed in the same school,
(not knowing anything about Rosa being there)
and she and Rosa became close friends

the baby, Eduardito,
is the son of Eva and JI
they named Ramón, a worker at the school, the father.

on Raquel,
I think her daughter, Lucía, is hers and Gerardo,
but the two older boys, JI and Jr., are from his previous marriage,

and then Leticia, is Eduardo's sister,
her son is Rodolfol
who's kids are Barbie baby and Martin
(not real clear on what happened to their spouses)

on tonight's show, Andrea spilled the beans to Rosa/Eva,
about her past,
so they plan to use her DNA for Rosa's test.

PABLO ESCOBAR Jueves

Regina broadcasts on TV the discovery of the bodies of the two tortured and killed cops.

At the party, Marcos cuts in on Jorge's dance with the girl, and takes the girl for himself, giving her a little spank. Jorge is drunk. When he sees Marino, he asks “you gonna take me out”? (quebrar). Marino says he's a man of peace. Marcos takes the girl to a room, starts making out with her, offers her cocaine. Jorge is at the door saying can I have some? Marcos gives him a brick of coke, saying leave us alone. Jorge throws the brick into the swimming pool.

Chili tells Marino to relax. Marino says I'm supposed to kill Jorge, but not let Pati or the children know. You guys are the pros. Can you help? They says they want to celebrate, they did their job, now do yours.

The Major (whose name is Aristides) meets with Regina. We're doing an operative against Escobar in Nápoles. You need to help us, go there with us. This isn't my job, sorry, she replies. But I'll draw you a map.

Pablo is in the bedroom with Pati, trying to play nice. He's going to sleep early, but let the boys have their fun. She's a little nicer to him.

Jairo's son (whose name is Gonzalo, not Alonzo, as I had thought, has nightmares about his father's death. He goes into his Mom's room, and says it was his fault. Natalia comforts him.

Jorge is still outside the door where Marcos is trying to bed the girl. He makes commotion, and when Marcos opens the door, saying get out of here, Jorge says “Why can't the girl go with me? Isn't my money as good as yours?”' Marcos picks up his assault rifle, and KILLS Jorge. Chili and Topo hear the shots, rush in, what are you doing? Marcos aims at THEM. Chili says, what are you, CRAZY! Marcos is about to do something, when Pablo and Gonzalo rush in. Pablo talks Marcos down. He then dresses down Chili and Topo. NEVER disrespect a boss. But he was acting crazy. Too bad, he's a boss, okay? Period.

Gonzalo rushes in, the cops are coming (he says something like estamos tumbados, which is sort of like things are falling on us). The order goes out. Clean up everything, quick! And hide the stash!

Marino frantically mops the floor where Jorge was lying in blood. Two gusy hustle the body out. Marcos rushes to the stables with his rifle. Major Aristides arrives with a search warrant. Pablo stalls and stalls, talking slowly, reading the warrant a few times. Finally the Major is allowed to pass. He walks right past where Marino cleaned the floor. I don't think he finds nada. He then jaws it out with Pablo. Why are you celebrating when a Colonel was killed? We had nothing to do with that, it's the birthday of an employee. You're lying. Yeah, well you're slandering me with no proof at all.

Has Pablo escaped once again?

PABLO ESCOBAR, Viérnes

Guillermo's son asks his father, are you sure you want to change the editorial? We were just about to go to press. I'm sure.

At Nápoles, Major Aristides is inspecting the stables. Just as he approaches where Marcos, Chili and Topo are standing with rifles cocked, Gonzalo says “Look, I know what you're looking for. Let's not waste time. Come with me.” So Aristides turns around, and Marcos, Chili and Topo breathe a sigh of relief. They later sneak out of the grounds. Gonzalo takes the Major to the money room. Most of it is gone, but there's 1.5 million dollars sitting on the table. The Major confiscates this money as evidence.

Pablo calls Regina, what's the idea? Are you betraying me?

The strong editorial Guillermo's writing says these “Extraditables” think if they can't get extradited, they're home free. The government isn't doing anything. These guys use murder and bribes, and run over our country. Why are the cousins Pablo Escobar and Gonzalo, and Marcos Herber, still free?

The next day, Pablo tells Marcos on the phone, your rash action cost us over a million dollars. Ah, who gives a f*k, says Marcos, I'll pay it back. But did you read the paper? You've gotta take care of Guillermo Cano. Look, says Pablo, don't tell me what to do. Stop with the drugs. Get your act together!

Peluche and Fabio tell Chili and Topo you guys were stupid, the cops have your sketch. Chill, says Chili, even if they catch us, we'll pay the price and not implicate anyone else. But we need to talk to the boss. No way, says Peluche.

At the military funeral for Jairo Jiménez, Guillermo can't bear the sadness, and walks away. His wife says you've got to stop with the strong editorials. He says someone has to make the government listen. But he'll write about other things during the Christmas season (when they say Navidad, it almost sounds like Naidá, that's how soft the vowels are in the Medellin accent).

Marino visits Jorge's mother, tells him Jorge must have gone on a vacation without her, but asked him to give her this money. She takes it, has no idea her son is dead.

Chili and Topo are stalking Marcos. We're going to get justice, they tell each other.

There's a Christmas party at Guillermos, and they're playing Secret Santa, with little pieces of paper choosing who gives a gift to whom. Niki shows up and is warmly welcomed.

In a playground, Pablo and Gonzalo meet two new thugs (one of whom was a murderer in another hard hitting novela, Rosario Tijéras). He tells them to go to Bogotá, and watch this guy, learn his movements (we're pretty sure it's Guillermo). Be ready for the order to proceed. Are Chili and Topo going to help us? No, guys, it's your job alone. The new killers leave with their down payment.

So where are they? Asks Pablo. I paged them, they should be here, answers Gonzalo. So the two druglords swing on the playground swings while awaiting their henchmen. Chili and Topo show up, saying, boss, we have a pending matter with Marcos. Chili: I just said he was crazy, and he WAS acting crazy, killing Jorge in the middle of a party. He was going to kill us, he called us nothing. He humiliated us, and I think he could kill us at any time. I've been with you for years, boss. I should have my own lab by now. Pablo sets him straight. You're acting like a 15 year old. You'll do what I say. I'm very grateful for what you've done, but you can't go against a boss. Chili responds, look, are you going to help us get justice for what that crazy man did, or are you going to turn your back on us? We'll find out the answer on Monday.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – VIERNES – Part 1

Sammy plays her role as “Soledad” and tells Willy she had an accident that damaged her vocal cords.

At the pool Miggy tells Fabiola that he desires her crazily, but she’s a little girl. He worries that he will lose control.

JM and Gus lock horns over Ángela, and she begs them both to let her think.

After D8D leaves Rodrigo alone with Ofelia’s body, he bitterly accuses her of having preferred the Reptile. She sent him away and didn’t even tell him who his father was until very recently. He tells her she deserved her death.

Esteban comes to check on Willy and discovers Sam pretending to be a nurse. Willy’s behavior is odd, telling “Soledad” that El Jefe is his good friend. Willy calls Sam’s cell and gets voice mail, of course. He tells Esteban that Sam doesn’t love him anymore and also says that Esteban was right to advise him to leave and to help him get away. Sam glares at Esteban. Willy is definitely playing games.

Miggy warns Gus that he’s now on the Reptile’s hit list for having shot Ofelia. Gus tells Miggy he went to Luna Azul and saw D8D there.

Everyone is paying more attention to Ofelia’s corpse than they did to her when she was alive. D8D has a weird conversation with her body. He’s angry that she loved the Reptile more than she loved him and because of it left him alone.

JM sits down between Emma and Fabiola, saying they need to talk. Emma asks FF about her parents. FF says they were marvelous. Her mother loved music. Her father was handsome and protective. FF then says she has loved meeting the Arroyos but she doesn’t belong here, watched by bodyguards.

Nora tells Rod that his father, Darío, was a good person. Rod says his mother said the opposite. The omnipresent D8D is also there and invites Rod to come live with him. Rod calls him padrino and says he’s always on his side. Uh oh!

The Reptile has been stashed in a back room at Luna Azul, and D8D comes to see her. She calls him papito and says he’s all she has left. When she asks him to help her get revenge, he agrees. He tells her she has to pretend to be a prostitute and to wear a mask.

Willy asks “Soledad” for a massage. She digs into his shoulders and then he grabs her and pulls her into his lap. Willy said that he could smell her, plus Arturo didn’t bark when she arrived.

FF is swimming nude. When Miggy comes out to the pool she asks him to teach her to control her desire for him. More passionate kissing.

PABLO ESCOBAR -

thanks so much Hombre!

90 percent of this story is in the conversations, how it was said, and what was implied,
which I miss almost all of,
and you cover so well.

one of the new sicarios is, I think. Emerson Yanez,
one of my favorites,
he played a sicario named Balin in Sin Senos no hay Paraiso
and one named Topo in Victorinos

the actress who plays Jairo Jiménez's wife (Yesenia Valencia), was in a day novela that I watched,
as a gossipy hotel clerk,
here she is so different, and since I already know her,
for such a small part she really brings it home.
I'm thinking that most of the Colombian actors in this show,
know Exactly who Pablo Escobar is.

in looking at the cast, I noticed that Marcos Hérber was referenced to Carlos Lehder, the real guy,
his bio in wiki is fascinating, we are only seeing a shadow of him, wow,
it does contain the obvious spoilers, but I would recommend reading it anyway,
or at least the first part that covers his drug history, which we have already gone by,
it really has added a lot of color to our story for me,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Lehder

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – VIERNES – Part 2

JM and Miggy are having some tequilitos in the kitchen. JM says he’s having a sweet dream and a nightmare at the same time. He can’t stand being near her and not able to touch her. Miggy can relate!

Nora tells Sammy on the phone about Ofelia.

Ángela shows up in the kitchen in shorty pj’s and asks JM to sleep with her! It was kind of a fake-out, though, as later she says she wants the kids to feel that they are a family. JM kisses her passionately and says he doesn’t want her in his bed unless she desires him.

Willy comes home and Nic embraces him. Rodrigo introduces himself as Rodrigo Sandoval. He’s very sarcastic, saying that Sammy lived with his father and Willy lived with his mother. He didn’t get to live with either one, but he’s come back to LA to stay.

Génesis tells Miggy that FF needs a novio and he’s a good candidate except for the fact that he’s a womanizer!

The Reptile reluctantly agrees to stay out of sight at Luna Azul, and cracks that she might be able to make a little extra money.

After making breakfast for the Arroyos, Ángela tells JM that she’s going to the bakery. She and Gus need to re-open.

Rod reads an article in the paper [¿Qué?] that says that Fabiola is going to be an heir to the Arroyo millions. He asks D8D if she’s pretty and gets a positive response. Rod says he’s going to make sure to meet her, get her to fall in love with him, and marry her. D8D tells him that the added benefit will be that he’ll be a widower very soon. They smile oddly similar wicked smiles. I’m getting suspicious about who really is Rod’s father.

Gus and JM both tell Ángela it’s too dangerous for her to work at the bakery with the Reptile on the loose. When she leaves the room, JM tells Gus he isn’t going to push Ángela. They seem to be over locking horns. JM has an idea. [This is never a good development.] He says he’ll leave his house. The Reptile wants him and she’ll pursue him, leaving Ángela alone. He asks Gus to take care of Ángela if anything happens to him.

Camilo is at Luna Azul and tells Dante he’s arranged a big drug purchase. [They already showed him with his hair dyed; so why does he wear that knit hat all the time?] A little while later the Reptile comes out, mask in place and sees Camilo there. Whoops!

Rod shows up at Casa Arroyo. One of the security detail guys tells him JM isn’t at home, but will see if anyone else can speak with him. Fabiola is sitting up in a tree, and Rod sees her for the first time.

Willy has been pushing for his operation sooner. The hospital calls and tells Sammy it’s a go. Now this is crazy. They said earlier it was risky to operate sooner, but some doctor with a pretty rich malpractice insurance policy is going to operate anyway.

Angie says she’s confused. She thinks she loves both JM and Gus.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE –

great recap novelera !!!

Rodrigo sure looks like a younger version of the Jefe,
and I can definitely see his mother in him as well,
can we just drown him in the pool now and skip the part where we get to know him

so true novelera,
this is the most attention Ofelia has gotten the whole show,

ah yes, the masked revenger!
better say your good byes now Camilo.

PABLO ESCOBAR -

I've been scooting around wiki reading the 'real' stories of our bad guys, wow...

the wiki facts are,

the Medellín Cartel's key members were Pablo Escobar, Carlos Lehder, José Gonzalo Rodríguez Gacha, Jorge Ochoa and his brothers Juan David and Fabio."

the height of the Cartel, began to end with the assasination of Colombian Minister of Justice Rodrigo Lara Bonilla, on April 30, 1984

the biggest spoilers on the wiki pages are, where are these guys today,

so anyway I put together a spoiler free summary,
,,,,,,,,,,

Barry Seal,
the real pilot that filmed Pablo in Nicaragua and was later killed,
we are already past this, so here is the real story, well the wiki version, great read,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Seal
,,,,,,,,,,

Pablo Escobar
we are watching his story
,,,,,,,,,,

Carlos Lehder... (Marcos Hérber)
covered him in an earlier post
,,,,,,,,,,

Gonzalo Rodríguez Gacha... (Gustavo Ramirez el Mariachi)

"José Gonzalo Rodríguez was born in May 1947 in the small town of Vergara near Pacho in Cundinamarca. He came from a poor family of modest pig farmers, and it is said that his formal education did not extend beyond grade school. As a youth he developed a fearsome reputation while employed as a hired killer for numerous organizations. In the early 1970s, Rodríguez moved to Bogotá and linked up with Verónica Rivera de Vargas, a pioneering drug trafficker who became the first queen of cocaine by murdering the family of her main rival"

"After moving to Medellín in 1976, Rodríguez joined with the Ochoa family, Pablo Escobar, and Carlos Lehder in establishing an alliance that eventually strengthened into what would become known as the Medellín Cartel. The traffickers cooperated in the manufacturing, distribution and marketing of cocaine. During the late 1970s, Rodríguez advanced in the organizational hierarchy, pioneering new trafficking routes through Mexico and into the United States, primarily Los Angeles, California and Houston, Texas."

"It was Gacha who first set up Tranquilandia, one of the largest and best known of the jungle laboratories where more than two thousand people lived and worked making and packaging cocaine."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gonzalo_Rodríguez_Gacha
,,,,,,,,,,

Jorge Luis Ochoa Vásquez... (Pedro Motoa)

"helped found the notorious Medellín Cartel in the late 1970s. "

"whose family was in the cattle-breeding and family restaurant businesses until they began trafficking narcotics during the mid 1970s. In 1976, Ochoa assumed leadership of what was basically an Ochoa family operation."

"In 1981, the kidnapping of Ochoa's sister, Martha Nieves Ochoa Vasquez, by the Colombian guerrilla organization M-19, consolidated their alliance. The traffickers formed a group known as Muerte a Secuestradores, ("Death to Kidnappers") announcing the imminent execution of any guerrilla kidnappers. After being threatened with reprisals, Martha Nieves was released by M-19 unharmed several months later."

"On April 30, 1984, Colombian Minister of Justice Rodrigo Lara Bonilla, who had crusaded against the Medellín cartel, was assassinated by a gang of motorcycle thugs. President Belisario Betancur who had previously opposed extradition of drug traffickers to the United States, announces "We will extradite Colombians." Carlos Lehder was the first to be put on the list. The crackdown forced Jorge Ochoa, Escobar and Rodriguez Gacha to flee to Panama for several months. While in Panama, Ochoa and Pablo Escobar met with former Colombian president Alfonso Lopez Michelson and offered their fortunes to avoid extradition. President Belisario Betancur refused,"

Fabio Ochoa Vásquez... (Julio Motoa)

"the youngest of the three Ochoa brothers"

PABLO ESCOBAR:

Thanks, Deb for not spoiling anything. After this whole thing is over, I'm going to read the true story. It's shocking that so much of what we're seeing really happened!

CORAZAON VALIENTE:

Thanks for the recap, Novelera. I especially liked "JM has an idea. (This is never a good development)." So true. So he's going to "leave" Angela? Okay.

I guess the character Miggy is feeling what many of us were feeling, that he's way older than FF. But of course, love has no age, and he should get over his qualms eventually, especially since she makes him "lose all control", which is a good thing in telenovela love terms.

I agree, Rodrigo could be another incestual child of D8D and Ofelia. Remember how Dario thought he was sterile? Maybe he was.

The Reptile as a prostitute who wears a mask? Why not!

Rosa Diamante
Thanks much to Shallow and Deb for the explanations. I still don't understand why nobody in Rosaura's household would remember what Eva looked like, and realize that Rosa wasn't Eva?

Corazon Valiente
Wow, Novelera, great recap, too many snide asides to mention but I loved them all!
I wondered why Reptile's slit eyes didn't register any recognition of "Luis" at the nightclub? As far as she knows, Luis is dead.
J in Oregon

Sheesh! Finally got caught up on my DVR'd stuff!

ROSA DIAMANTE
Wasnt a big fan of the JI/Rosa thing, but he is growing on me a little even with his terrible hair and idiotic facial expressions. I love Junior, but really like him with Andrea (so happy to see something good coming for her!). I think Barbie is HILARIOUS! Her character is ridiculous, but I love the way Begona plays her.

CORAZON VALIENTE
Fabiola is great, and I like her with Miguel. She does look really young, although I really hope they don't "glam" her up too much to make her look like everyone else. I love the jungle look and the wild hair! Although the short shorts are a bit much (or not enough...).

Sigh. Camilo is adorable. As always. PLEEEEEEASE don't kill him off!!!

AnotherAmy

PABLO ESCOBAR

Thanks so much, Hombre, for your two excellent recaps. You always illuminate something I missed completely.

Chili is playing with fire. I can't believe he's defying Escobar like that. I guess it's a testosterone overdose. And both he and Topo appear to have overestimated their importance to the cartel.

RIP Jorge. The actor was amazingly convincing in his drunken behavior at the party. In a way his sudden death by Marcos Herber was better than being taken out of sight by Marino and knowing for sure he would be killed.

Guillermo Cano's editorial was great. He basically said: "No wonder these jerks fight extradition so vigorously. Here in Colombia they're home free!"

ROSA DIAMANTE

AnotherAmy - LOL on JI's terrible hair and facial expressions - same tonto expressions as in El Clon. really not a fan of Ochmann. not galan stature at all.

J in Oregon - uhhh.. cuz it's a novela.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks so much for the recap

I'm loving Miggyl&Fabiola scenes more and more! :P

The interaction between Genesis and Miggy, the way they played with the words and imitate each other harmoniously, was excellent in that scene.

JM leaving Angela and asking Gus to take care of her makes no sense!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Thanks for the recap!

:D I laughed at the comment on everyone paying more attention to a dead Ofelia.
Well... except Willy. It’s a pity, since they seemed so close at the beginning of the telenovela and we haven’t got anything on how he feels about all the crap she has done. (Does he even know about her involvement in Bernie’s schemes to separate him and Sam??)

GAH. I knew Rodrigo would be stuck into the Miggy & Fabiola story. (I would have preferred to see him wreak havoc elsewhere. Or everywhere. I actually liked his brief antagonistic interactions with Sam and Willy. ) Miggy already has two other women into him (unless Alejandra comes back and it will be three) and Fabiola needs someone her own age to be interested in her (and we can see that similar ages don’t always work). I hope he won’t actually fall for her/become obsessed, but I suppose that’s the fate of every villain.

Not sure why Rodrigo would go after Fabiola for her money… (WHOM is she even inheriting? JM and Emma are the legal heirs of the Arroyos.) He’s the richest guy in the novela. Also, if the falsifying of the will ever comes out, he’d get the del Castillo fortune as well. Maybe he’s in it for the scheming (and he does whatever D8D tells him to do anyway).

To me it doesn’t make any sense that Rodrigo would be Bernie’s son as well. It was made quite clear that he was Darío’s son and even Ofelia and Bernie referred to him as such when they talked about him. (And nobody else was around) Bernie, however, is his uncle and godfather and possibly the biggest influence in his life, so it’s not surprising that Rodrigo would take after him. Btw. I don’t think Darío thought he was sterile, but that he later on had a vasectomy. He did, after all, believe that he was Sam’s father and had no problems believing that Rodrigo was his son.

I like that Willy recognised Sam so quickly and how he talked to El Jefe. (Who cares whether El Jefe actually said all that. They were things he WOULD say) Arturo, however, is no clue to anything. He never barks at anyone.

Corazon Valiente
Who now owns the aviation company that was Dario's? He was referred to as a mulitmillionario. Didn't he leave that to Rodrigo?
Also, Ofelia was once mentioned as the true heir to the del Castillo millions. Even tho' D8D managed to get his hands on that estate, Ofelia said she didn't want it anyway. Maybe Rodrigo will go after that as well.
J in Oregon

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Thanks novelera for the fab recap. I had to laugh at the Reptile becoming a masked prostitute because there was a similar storyline in the craptastic tn El Talisman. Well, I guess it will keep her occupied. Too bad for Camilo though because he's about to be outed.

While it's nice to have a fresh face, I'm kind of disappointed that Rodrigo is yet another villain with seemingly NO motive for his malice. It will be fun to see how he and FF interact though.

J in Oregon- Yes, Rod inherited everything from Dario, so it makes no sense for him to be money hungry. Since the secret of Ofelia being the true heir to her and Bernie's father, I'm not sure how/if Rod will find out that that money should be his too.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

I don’t know if Ofelia believed Darío when he accused Bernie of being a fraud, but yeah, she didn’t really care for the money anyway. Rodrigo has more than enough, but I actually would like to see him scheming against Bernie to get his hands on the del Castillo fortune instead of doing his bidding as an unoriginal obstacle for Miggy & Fabiola.

CV:

Oops. I see that I didn't finich my thought above. I meant to say "since the secret of Ofelia being the true heir to her and Bernie's father died with Dario..."

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Yes, more telenovela illogic. Sam and Darío had a big fight - forget why - and he disinherited her, leaving everything to his illegitimate son, Rodrigo, especially the aviation company, J in Oregon.

So it doesn't make much sense that reading an article about Fabiola would turn him into a fortune hunter because he's already rich. And the article itself was pretty crazy. How did the press find out she was an Arroyo? They've tried to keep her under wraps because of the threat from the narcos.

I thought Miggy also found out that D8D had that crooked lawyer replace his and Ofelia's father's genuine will. We don't kow the details, but presumably the father found out how much of a skunk his legitimate child was and left it all to the illegitimate one. But maybe I'm attributing all the good detective work to Miggy!

Vivi, I don't think the Reptile really plans to be a prostitute. She made a joke about earning some extra money, but it was a joke. I think she's pretending to be one and likely will do a pole dance on Monday, because they said it was her debut.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

One more thing. Kihaku asked a good question, from whom is she inheriting. In the crazy legal world of telenovelas, I suppose Emma could be thrown out without a cent since she's not the bio kid. But I just assumed that, JM having taken the trouble to find her, he plans to give her 1/3 of all the money the other sibs have. Of course they aren't really heirs in the sense of waiting for someone to die to inherit. JM and Emma already got their parents' money when the Reptile shot them.

So, the current heirs to the Arroyo money are Génesis and Juan Cruz.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Ah, I worded that poorly. Thanks for explaining it better, Novelera. :) Anyway, I don’t think Fabiola seems the type to want (or accept) 1/3 of the money, since she wouldn’t feel entitled to it. (I’d assume). Even so, the press is making strange assumptions anyway. (Fabiola wouldn’t get anything by default) And yeah, it’s strange that they have found out as well. (Not impossible, but it would probably have required some spying, which wouldn’t have been ethical).
The people who know about D8D’s deception are obviously Bernie himself and the corrupt lawyers. Fernanda also has some sort of an idea, but doesn’t want to risk her inheritance. Miggy wasn’t around yet when Darío revealed it to whoever happened to be present, but if anyone would find it out, it would be him. :) (Hopefully somebody does.)

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – Lunes – Part 1

Gus reacts calmly to Ángela’s statement that she loves both he and JM. She tells him he’s the one that gives her peace.

Rodrigo is turning out to be a first-class shit. He insults Miggy, telling him he thought he was only an employee. Natalia picks right up on this, rolling her eyes. After Miggy leaves the room, Rod gets hold of FF’s hand and sits beside her on the sofa. She moves to a chair.

Esteban tells Sam right in front of Willy that, yes, he still loves her and feels that he’s the right man for Sam. Poor Willy can’t locate him to throw a punch.

The Reptile, wearing mask and dark wig tries to interest Camilo in a roll in the hay, making him uncomfortable. He tells her he’s Luis Martínez.

Miggy’s antennae (and mine) are up about Rodrigo. Rod keeps moving closer to Fabiola, pouring it on about how interested he is in her life, while she keeps moving away.

Natalia gives Miggy a VIP pass to tonight’s show at Luna Azul.

D8D is on the phone with El Verdugo who wants Fabiola in Colombia. D8D says she’s well guarded in the Arroyo house and to be patient. He asks him how he likes the gift he sent him. We see El Verdugo’s huge gold watch and Alex, obviously back on drugs and apparently happy to be where she is.

A call comes in for Willy from the hospital in Mexico, but D8D takes the call.

Sam is worried about Willy’s operation, but he says he wants to see again, ¡pero ya! He doesn’t want Esteban having an advantage over him.

Gus tells Ángela that JM went away so as not to pressure her. We then see JM going into a store from the viewpoint of someone watching him.

Fabiola is teasing Miggy about having Rod as a friend like he has Natalia as his friend. He tells her Rod’s mother was a killer and D8D, well… He tells her he doesn’t want her to see Rod any more. She asks if he’s jealous. Miggy laughs off FF’s claim that he’s jealous of that kid. She says Miggy looked at him like a hungry gorilla.

Willy says to Sam that at least Esteban mostró el colmillo. [a new idiom; I love ‘em! This one is literally show your eye tooth – or as we’d say in English: bare your fangs.]

D8D shows up in person with the bad news. Lorena died in a car accident in Playa del Carmen in Mexico. He gives them the phone number so they can call and verify. Sam and Willy are completely undone.

We meet a new character that shows up at the clinic saying she has to find Lorena. She says she’s pregnant. The nurse finally says the last she heard she was staying at the Del Castillo house.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – Lunes – Part 2

JM has a new hairstyle, parted instead of combed straight back. I like it. Ángela calls him on his cell. He says he’s giving her space to choose.

JM is somewhere I don’t recognize. He senses someone watching him, pulls a gun and asks if it’s Fernanda.

Camilo shows up at the bakery, hair dyed black, and Ángela reacts to him with fear, having flashbacks of his hitting her. Gus tells her he’s her brother-in-law and a good person.

FF asks Peralta how he and Emma moved from his being Emma’s bodyguard to her novio. Emma, always jealous, appears at the top of the stairs and calls him up, interrupting.

Crap! The girl who was looking for Lorena runs into D8D, presumably having just left his old house. She tells him she’s looking for Lorena. He tells her Lorena died. She faints. [I know I’ve seen this actress before, but I can’t remember in which novela.]

The Reptile tells Dante “Luis” may be his brother. Why is she waffling? She SHOT his brother. Then, presumably bored, she comes on to Dante. Ew!

Willy Feels a horrible guilt, telling Sam that Lorena left because of him.

Emma tells Peralta they’re getting married next week, and what does he think about a 10-foot train for her gown! She tells him she’s in a big hurry to get married to take her mind off not being an Arroyo. She wants to be a Peralta.

The new character, Clara, tells D8D she didn’t know Lorena was pregnant, but the baby she’s expecting is the biggest problem of her life. She ends up trusting D8D with her story. She says she loaned her womb to Lorena and she doesn’t know who the biological parents of the child are. [But we know; and I’m pretty sure Papa Snake does as well.]

JM calls the slimy lawyer, Federico, and tells him to give the Reptile a message. He’s alone at the beach house waiting for her so they can settle this once and for all.

Clara tells D8D that she has no money. Her father is sick. She doesn’t even have the rent money. Lorena’s money was supposed to take care of her problems. D8D says he’ll help her. He says he just lost his assistant of many years, and offers her the job.

Miggy goes to Luna Azul. It looks like Fabiola hid in the back seat to see where he was going.

Rodrigo tells D8D that Fabiola is beautiful, innocent, and appears to be easy prey.

Clara returns to accept the job as D8D’s new assistant.

El Jefe tells Sam and Willy that he found out through his contacts that Lorena was never pregnant.

The Reptile does her pole dance. Gus, Camilo, and Miggy watch. Now, if it had been the real Luis watching, he’d have recognized her body!

Corazon Valuente

Thanks Novelera great recap. I too loved JMs hair.

The new actress was in Relaciones peligrosas and played the cop, she did not look like that. She appears to look more like her character in Corazon Apasionado. I like her acting. I guess the longer this is on more actors from RP will eventually show up.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE-

Great recap, Novelera. I was able to see last night's episode. I noticed JM's hair, too - less "product" I think. It can't be the Reptile stalking him. I wonder who it is. He's at the "beach house" where the Reptile pretended to try and commit suicide.

As an old novela hand, I figured out that Clara was carrying Sam & Willy's baby right away. I thought that Lorena would have inseminated herself with Willy's sperm. How could she not have been pregnant? She had an ultrasound in Willy's presence. Wouldn't that be pretty hard to fake? Why did she implant the embryo in someone else? [They continue to refer to it as artificial insemination].

At least we appear to have seen the last of Lorena's anorexic body and nasty pinche face.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks for the great recap

After the actress playing Lorena left the show they had to change the storyline.
I feel sorry for Alex.

CORAZON VALIENTE

I see on Wikipedia that Carolina Tejera is starring in a new novela called El Señor de los Cielos so maybe that is why she left the show.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE –

great recap novelera !!!

I think that was a babershop JM ducked into,
I was wondering how that was going to work out,
and I wonder who is following him.

and where JM is staying doesn't look safe/secure at all,
I don't think he has ever gotten what Fernanda is capable of.

and like you said earlier,
when JM comes up with an idea,
this is never a good thing,

@ novelera,
did anyone volunteer to do the recap for tonight, Tuesday,
let me know, if not, I'll do it.

PABLO ESCOBAR Lunes

Peluche’s real name is Alberto. He stands in the court, saying that the $1 million which Major Aristides seized was his money. It had nothing to do with drugs, it was from cattle sales, which are often done in cash. It’s like his life savings. Later, the court agrees with him, and Major Aristides is disgusted. One more for the cartel.

Natalia, Jairo’s widow, tells General Ulloa that even if she gets a general’s pension, since Jairo was studying for that, it wouldn’t make the hurt go away.

The President of the Republic has listened to the editorials, and calls for the extradition process to be revived. This of course infuriates Pablo, who calls his 2 thugs in Bogotá, the day of action is December 17th. Christmas celebrations in Colombia apparently start several weeks before the 25th. It’s now the 16th, and is already Christmas season. Guillermo’s little granddaughter loves him so much she sneaks into his car to be with him. We see the two thugs observing all the movements of Guillermo Cano and his family.

Chili is now rich! He and Topo, after having killed Jairo and been loyal, are being moved up in the organization. Chili buys a new mansion, and his formerly prostitute sister is going to live there, too. Marcos meets with Pablo. He isn’t happy that Chili and Topo, “mere assasins” are being given raises. He’s also impatient about Guillermo Cano. When are you going to resolve that matter? Pablo doesn’t tell him it’s in the works. Pablo continues to be unhappy with Marcos.

Guillermo is not surprised that the court freed Peluche and his money. But he hopes that 1987 will be a good year. I’m not so optimistic.

Marino and Yesenia are acting almost like lovebirds. Chili shows up to put a wet blanket on that. First of all, Marino, don’t get involved with her. Second, from now on you deal with ME, not Pablo, I’m your boss now. So Chili is moving up.

Pablo and Gonzalo are riding in their jeep. It’s time to deal another blow to our enemies. Cano has to die.

Pablo meets with Chili and Topo. You guys have to put the Marcos Herber thing to rest. Either you tell me for sure you’re over it by tomorrow, or the whole cartel will be at war with you.

I think a friend of Guillermo’s, named Amilia, died. This was unrelated to the drug and political climate. But it still saddens Guillermo. What can you do in these times? he says to his loving wife. The next day is December 17th. Guillermo and his wife go together to the newspaper headquarters. The two thugs are following. I’m getting a sinking feeling about all of this !!!!

CORAZON VALIENTE;

Great recap, Novelera!

I love Daniela Navarro, the actress who plays Clara, who was sexy cop Olivia Kloster in Relaciones. She is so intense, especially when she cries. But what a different role!

Willy is always a scream when he's looking the wrong direction, lunging the wrong way, etc. I think a real blind person could use aural cues a little better, but of course, that wouldn't be as funny!

There really is a revolving cast on this show, with characters dying or being killed, and new ones introduced, every few weeks.

El Señor de los Cielos

thanks for the heads up Jean,

"El Señor de los Cielos" ("The Lord of the Heavens")
Damian Torres is a man of humble beginnings who dreamed of having it all. Through relentless will and fearless determination, Damian transforms himself from a poor peasant into one of the world's richest men and a powerful drug trafficker, wanted by the DEA. Damian embodies the entire spectrum of what the human soul is capable of, from the virtuous to the unthinkable, all fueled by his immeasurable desire for power and wealth.
(from Telemundo)

I think this story is based on the life of Amado Carrillo Fuentes,
an even greater drug lord than Pablo Escobar,
that came along afterward, and supposedly learned from Pablo's mistakes,

"As the top drug trafficker in Mexico, Carrillo was transporting four times more cocaine to the U.S. than any other trafficker in the world, building a fortune of over US$25 billion. He was called "El Señor de los Cielos" (The Lord of the Skies) for his pioneering use of over 27 private Boeing 727 jet airliners to transport Colombian cocaine to municipal airports and airstrips around Mexico.."
(from wiki)

Main cast

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks for the offer, Deb. Kihaku has volunteered to recap tonight.

GENERAL

What's with Telemundo and so many narco novelas [like El Señor de los Cielos]? I guess they get good ratings.

The cast looks great, though.

AND, didn't they announce months ago that Araceli Arámbula was going to be in a novela?

Perhaps whatever that novela is to be will replace Corazón Valiente, while the narconovela will be in the 10:00 slot.

PABLO ESCOBAR

Thanks for the excellent recap, Hombre.

Yes, the tension is almost unbearable. I guess this is the pattern for the novela. They show some thugs stalking a good guy for several episodes and then ....

I thought Peluche said that Napoles was his finca, thus the story about the cattle being sold for a million dollars. That seemed odd. I wonder if they've put the place in his name in case there's a seizure of property.

There were some interesting word usages last night. Chili said to Marino: le esta rayendo el cuaderno. This means you're erasing the notebook (of Escobar as the girl's lover, I presume).

Chili said to Marino that he's ready to llegar a abrir cobijas. He wanted to know whose side Marino would be on. In the Colombian slang dictionary in Wikipedia, abrir means leave someone or break up. So I got the impression Chili IS too big for his britches and plans to branch out on his own. I don't think this will end well.

Corazon Valiente
Novelera, thanks from me, too, for a great recap. I forgot they did do a sonogram of Lorena...but wait--didn't Willy and Sam miss that appointment because of some ruckus or other? I think they did hear the heartbeat, though.
I'm relieved to see the end of Lorena, although poor Camilo will be devastated. Hmm...maybe he will a good match-up for Clara?
J in Oregon

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

I had forgotten about Lorena's ultrasound.

When they fertilize embryos for implantation, aren't there usually several?

Maybe they'll go with Lorena having Clara as a back-up plan because she was presented as a high-risk pregnancy. And Lorena had to have been pregnant. Didn't some doctor tell her (and Willy) that she needed bed rest?

So maybe she miscarried the fetus she was carrying, but Clara's is OK?

Esteban said she had NEVER been pregnant, but that doesn't make sense. If she miscarried, would an autopsy show evidence of a no-longer-existing pregnancy?

I give up. I guess when Carolina Tejera left the show they had to scramble.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE-

Yes, there are usually multiple embryos created for a surrogacy. I agree that it is probably not possible to tell in an autopsy if a woman has been pregnant and miscarried especially if you weren't specifically looking for that and why would the Mexican authorities be interested in that. I know you can tell in an autopsy if a woman has given birth. I guess the writers didn't want to have Lorena die pregnant. There was one ultrasound that Willie was at with Lorena and he missed an appointment for another one. Maybe we will find out what supposedly happened.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Thanks for the recap!!!

That Lorena would have another surrogate for Sam and Willy’s kid without telling them makes no sense at all. Yeah, as Jean pointed out we’ve seen Lorena have ultrasounds (when Sam and Willy missed an appointment Camilo was there), there was the time she was hospitalised (and the doctor told her to avoid strenuous activities, including sex, which at that point wasn’t something she would have wanted to avoid) and she was adamant about having Willy’s kid and certainly believed that she was. Lorena could be messed up enough to actually believe it, but then she wouldn’t be faking any appointments at the doctor and hospital (which, as mentioned, would be pretty much impossible to do anyway) and if she were faking those then she wouldn’t actually be convinced that she was pregnant.

But yes, despite the massive logic failure, it was immediately obvious where the writers where going as soon as Clara mentioned that she was pregnant.
(I wish there had been a better way to solve the problem. Even a time skip would have worked better and maybe Lorena could have died off screen after giving birth to a premature baby)

I hope Sam and Willy were distraught about Lorena as well. (I wasn’t sure what upset them the most. After all, Lorena was their friend, so I’d expect some tears for her).

I actually liked Lorena and thought her character was interesting, although I admit that her behaviour was a little pathetic towards the end.

Gah, El Jefe was such a jerk. Moving around so that Willy would look foolish directing his anger at an empty space was just mean. I wish someone had pointed that out, as well as the crap he has done to Sam (that they know about) when he said that he thought he was better man for her. UGH. I just want him killed off already. I loved to hate him before when it looked like he was a creepy villain, but now he’s just uselessly hanging around and being a jerk at times while most ignore the crap he’s done in the past. (And I still hope the mental hospital incident will be uncovered.)

:D When Fernanda was dancing I also immediately thought that the real Luis would definitely recognise her!!

Yeah, I don’t understand how Camilo’s impersonating Luis could possibly work. Luis had a funeral and people must have found out about that (if they found about the random car exploding as well). Fernanda MUST remember though. I think she was just hinting at it to Dante.
(Btw. I looked away when they kissed. Didn’t feel well for some reason).

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks for the recap, novelera.

JM's even more handsome with his new 'do.' me gusta!

J in Oregon - perhaps Clara could also be good for Rodrigo, and make him change; or el Jefe tambien.

It's incredible how they keep adding new characters to this show.

It was cute when Peralta slipped on the banana peel, and FF quickly caught his fall.

aaah, and Willy... Fabian Rios... so entertaining.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Finally watched the last episode. Nothing new to add (the Lorena/Clara storyline also had me scratching my head), so I'll just thank you for the fab recap.

Oh! And I also love JM's new do. He looks 5 years younger.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE -

ahh,
Angeline Moncayo, (as Laura)
with a new pair of sun glasses,
maybe from the bodyguard store,
(wiki has her down as a police woman)
ut oh, police women haven't done so well in this story,

aa, I kind of liked JM's 50's look,
but yeah, the barber is probably still trying to get that gook off of all of his stuff.
I think the sign says closed.

I wonder if the new cop is Gustavo's ex?

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – MARTES – PART 1

Fernanda spots Miggy (and Gus) and makes a quick exit. Natalia shows up at the club to check if everything is okay. She tells Miggy that the coast is clear, since Dante just left and Johnny has other business to take care of (and won’t show up until later). Fabiola however is there and looks interested.

El Jefe is going to order a copy of the autopsy (because he can do that). Sam and Willy can’t believe that Lorena was never pregnant. They saw the sonogram of the baby! El Jefe insists that Lorena was never pregnant. They [and the viewers] will never find out what Lorena was planning and why.

Clara wonders if her pregnancy would be a problem, but Bernie assures her that he loves kids. Case and point: Rodrigo, the son of his housekeeper, whose studies he paid for without knowing that he was his nephew. [Rodrigo says he studied in London, so either the writers forgot or Rodrigo is lying just for the heck of it] Clara wonders about the parents of the baby she is carrying, but D8D (always eager to keep his grandchildren as far away as possible and preferably never born) tells her to think of herself and her father. He’ll take care of the rest. Clara leaves seemingly convinced that Bernie is a good and helpful person. Rodrigo, who knows his godfather/uncle very well, isn’t buying the act.

Fabiola checks out the pole at the club and some guy either tries to stop her or come on to her. [I’m not sure which]. Fabiola takes this as a threat and goes wild while Miggy of course comes to her aid and gets into another fight. [He really should be banned from the club]. Skinny little Fabiola does quite well, though.

Federico gives Fernanda the message from JM. He is at the beach house alone waiting for her. Fernanda is annoyed that JM considers her stupid enough to fall into his trap.

Angie arrives at the del Castillo house to console Sam. (Accompanied by Pablo for safety) Sam tells her that Lorena was never pregnant, but she’s going to get to the bottom of things. She’s a Valdez, after all.

Miggy demands to know what Fabiola was doing at the club and Fabiola says that she wanted to go out. Natalia is not happy with the ruckus Miggy caused, but is worried about him, although to her annoyance Miggy doesn’t seem to care that much about her. Gus is off as well and tells Fabiola to watch out, since the place is not for little girls. Fabiola takes offence and snaps bact at him like a little girl.

Camilo approaches Natalia to tell her to inform Dante that he’s got the merchandise. Natalia says that he’s seen him before at the Arroyo house. Camilo says that it must have been his idiot brother. As he’s leaving Fernanda approaches Camilo about the private show she promised him.

Back at the Arroyo house Miggy and Fabiola argue. Miggy insists that he was working and doesn’t need "those kind of places" to meet someone. Fabiola doesn’t think highly of really anyone in this situation (but mostly the women). Miggy is somewhat offended. He wishes Fabiola good night and sweet dreams with angels, but Fabiola says she’ll be dreaming of him. Miggy then sees a box of chocolates from Rodrigo to Fabiola.

Fernanda is horny and Camilo must be channelling Luis, because those two get it on.

Willy is furious with the whole situation, himself and Lorena. Nora tries to calm him down. Sam comes in to tell him that being with him gives her strength and she promises him that they will get answers. Also, at least they have Nico and each other.

Génesis and Violeta hang out with Fabiola, who isn’t ready to sleep yet, so they let her listen to some music. Fabiola (apparently inspired by the pole dancing) starts… sort of dancing. Miggy comes in to give her the chocolates (but not before watching Fabiola dance) and Fabiola happily digs in quickly forgetting her embarrassment/annoyance about being seen dancing and invites Miggy to share them with her.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – MARTES – PART 2

Willy and Sam pay their respects to Ofelia. Willy says that he has such good memories of his aunt when he was a kid, not like now, knowing that she was an accomplice in all his father’s lies. He needed to be there though and Sam agrees that it’s best to say goodbyes without grudges. They try to leave before running into D8D, but end up running into him (and Clara) anyway. D8D introduces them to Clara and Sam informs D8D that Lorena wasn’t ever pregnant. (Not a surprise to D8D) Willy and Sam also manage to run into Rodrigo, whom Willy tells to watch out for D8D.

Angie and Miggy discuss the inexplicable Lorena issue, which leads to a discussion of Miggy as a father. Angie points out that kids adore Miggy, but Miggy thinks it’s different when they think of him as an uncle. Angie then teases him a bit about Fabiola. Pablo comes to beg them to give him something to do, because he’s getting fed up with all the wedding stuff. Gus understands him, since he almost got married himself. Génesis and Violeta also rush in to tell Miggy that something is wrong with Fabiola.

For some reason El Jefe is getting info on Clara and deduces or is told that Clara is the one carrying Sam and Willy’s baby. The doctor/woman tells him that Clara worked as a cleaner and was Lorena’s friend, who wanted to help her. El Jefe (always eager to keep Sam and Willy from finding out about their biological kids) tells her not to tell anyone about this matter, which he’ll be dealing with himself and asks for copies of everything.

Fabiola has made herself sick with all the chocolates and tries to blame her pain on their being poisoned. Violeta says that her mother can make Fabiola some herbal tea.

Camilo doesn’t look as sad as he should be over Lorena’s death. (He looks disappointed). Nora tells him about Lorena’s lie and that maybe she wasn’t the woman for him. He will find someone. Camilo isn’t that positive. He doesn’t think he’ll ever find love.

Angie and Pablo want to hear about Gustavo’s "almost marriage", but Pablo is dragged off by Emma before he gets to hear anything. Gus tells Angie that he used to work together with his girlfriend, but she wanted to stay with the police.

The girls bring Fabiola the tea. Miggy realies that Fabiola has fever and thinks that Fabiola needs a doctor, but Fabiola thinks she needs heat, Miggy’s heat. She nuzzles against him while Miggy is the one who ends up drinking the tea.

Sam and Willy return and Camilo and Sam go to the study to discuss important "work stuff", much to Willy’s annoyance. Willy tells Nora about D8D’s new assistant.

Clara expresses her gratitude and D8D thinks that their meeting was destined, since he just lost Ofelia and then Clara appeared. (A miracle!) Clara tells him that if he doesn’t manage to find the baby’s parents she will give the baby up for adoption.

Camilo tells Sam that the trap seems to have worked. Willy interrupts them and wants to know what’s going on, but isn’t told anything. Camilo leaves (disappointed that Lorena didn’t confide in him after all). Willy tells Sam how life is really springing up surprises concerning the people they supposedly know so well. El Jefe then interrupts them, because he has news on Lorena. He doesn't reveal the most important bit of info, but he does say that the one who did the ultrasounds left L.A. Also there are no records or anything, but he’s definitely investigating! [Why do Sam and Willy even trust this guy?]

Rodrigo phones Fabiola and asks if she liked the chocolates and maybe she wants more? Miggy grabs the phone and yells at Rodrigo that the chocolates made her sick and he’d better not send any more. Fabiola thinks that Miggy is like a badly educated gorilla and Miggy points out that gorillas are badly educated. Fabiola says that the gorillas in the jungle were friendlier than Miggy. Miggy grabs Fabiola to take her to the bath so her fever will go down. Fabiola asks him if he is her bodyguard or nurse. Miggy says he’s both.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – MARTES – PART 3

Federico and Dante can’t find Fernanda in her room. Federico says that she has gone to see JM.

JM is at the beach house reading when he seemingly hears a noise (or thinks he does). He takes out his gun and is out the door yelling for Fernanda or whomever.

Angie tells the viewers (and Gus) that babies should always be in their special seats when one is driving. Gus thinks that he should stay away from Angie and that she should forget about him, but Angie doesn’t want that.

Willy gets a call from the doctor and Sam answers it for him (Or grabs it from his hand and answers it), but the doctor wants to speak to Willy. Nico and Jessie arrive. Jessie is upset, because she heard her father in a heated discussion with some guys and she’s scared for him. Sam and Nico assure her that she can count on them. Willy tells Sam that the doctor has to go on an urgent trip and he’ll have his operation the next day.

Miggy has Fabiola’s bath ready for her. Fabiola doesn’t want to be alone and wants Miggy with her. She gets into the water and Miggy tells her to bear the cold. Fabiola doesn’t know if she can bear being far away from him. Miggy leaves, but returns. He can’t bear to be away from her either. They kiss. Miggy says that he’d get away from there if he didn’t have to protect her, but he’s questioning that as well. He doesn’t like that Fabiola has such power over him. Fabiola wonders what the problem is. Her age, virginity, that she’s JM’s sister? Miggy confirms that it’s all that and him. He is the main problem.

Rodrigo tells D8D that Miggy is a hindrance in his quest to woo Fabiola. D8D is annoyed. Clara interrupts to inform D8D that Victor wants to see him (and to express her eternal gratitude). Victor tells D8D about the shipment from Colombia and that the police are being watched. He's there on behalf of Luis. D8D tells him not to count on him (D8D).

Sam and Willy argue about the operation. Willy wants to have it as soon as possible, but Sam disagrees. Willy points out that they’re his eyes, but Sam disagrees with that as well. She is scared that something will happen to him.

Fabiola is feeling a lot better and the little girls are eager to take her shopping for a makeover. Emma is eager to go with them as well. (She needs wedding stuff). Pablo warns Miggy about the dangers of letting Fabiola out of the house.

Camilo tells Sam about the shipment the next day. Victor arrives to pick Jessie up and Camilo (who in the meantime was taking a phone call) says that he recognises the voice. The guy works with the drug traffickers.

Gus tells Miggy about the drug shipment and that Jessie’s father is involved as well. He also has picked up on the vibe between Miggy and Fabiola, but Miggy tells him not to get any ideas in his head.

Clara visits her father at the hospital. El Jefe approaches her.

Willy is getting ready for his operation. His support group consists of Sam, Nico, Nora and Angie. Bernie has somehow found out about Willy’s operation and arrives as well, but nobody (not even Nico?) is happy to see him. He then gets a call from Dante, who tells him that Fernanda is still missing.

JM is out of the beach house again after hearing a noise and yells again for Fernanda. A woman comes up the stairs with her hands held up. JM asks who she is.

Miggy dreams about Fabiola coming to his bed to tell him that he is the only man, boyfriend and friend she wants. He’s the one she wants to make love to. Two masked men barge in to shoot them. Miggy wakes up with a jolt and Fabiola is holding a gun to his head. She has come to say goodbye.

PABLO ESCOBAR, Martes Part 1

Chili’s sister Mireya, using tons of slang, says (I think), you guys are rich now. Why rock the boat with your boss over this Herber thing? You should go see him and make peace.

Guillermo Cano’s cute 10 year old granddaughter is making a home video, using one of those large camcorders from the 80's, which had VHS tapes. Each grown child of Guillermo (he has 4 or 5) makes a little speech, telling how much their Dad means. This is going to be a surprise Christmas present. The last three to go on camera are Guillermo’s wife, his eldest son Juan, who works at the paper, and his granddaughter. Each gives a warm, moving speech of love.

Marino tells Yesenia goodbye. He’s been ordered to leave. But he gives her a very passionate kiss, and she returns the kiss. He also gives her a lot of money. Will I ever see you again? she asks. He hopes so.

In Colombia, people go home from work at lunchtime for a siesta. Guillermo leaves the newspaper offices, but he forgot his keys. He finds a guy in a jeep to give him a ride. Damn, say the two thugs who were just about to move in. No matter, let’s go eat. We’ll get him when he leaves work tonight. Guillermo goes home, has lunch and maybe a little nap, then takes a cab back to work. The surprise video will be given to him tonight.

Pablo is in the kitchen, tasting some of Pati’s cooking. She shoos him away. He doesn’t feel like waiting til tonight for his family’s presents. Close your eyes, he tells son Emilio. Emilio gets a small motorcycle, almost as big as the ones those killers use. Hmmmm. The infant daughter gets a pony. And Pati gets a brand new blue Mercedes. Isn’t Pablo wonderful?

PABLO ESCOBAR, Part 2

Back at El Espectador, Guillermo is working on the Christmas Eve editorial. He’s not happy though. He writes of a woman whose father is missing. There are too many stories like this. Why can’t the government stop these abuses? He calls his piece “Black Christmas” as tears stream down his weathered visage.

He says goodnight to his son Juan. He says goodbye to loyal Niki. See you tomorrow. He walks to his modest little car, laboredly gets in. We see little puppets or toys on the dashboard, presumably intended for some of his grandchildren. He starts the car. But here come the thugs on their moto. We see his extended family gathered at the house, waiting for the guest of honor to arrive. But the thugs’ moto roars to life, and they come aside Guillermo’s car. Four shots spit out of the assault rifle, crashing through the safety glass. The moto speeds off.

Inside, Niki hears the shots. She looks out the window and is horrified to see a moto zooming away. Breathless, she rushes downstairs out to the car (it all happened very close to the newspaper’s office), and sees Don Guillermo’s body slumped over in the car. He’s not dead. She and a helper put him in a car and rush to the hospital. Juan goes outside, too late to see the body. He has the sad duty to call his mother, at home waiting for a joyful celebration, and tell her that there won’t be one. The family rushes to the hospital. Juan bursts past all the guards, the doctors, finally finding his father, lying on an operating table, soaked in blood. It doesn’t look good. We see Juan, standing alone, in a long white corridor, bathed in pale light, his universe destroyed.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

kihaku, gracias for the excellent recap.

Really awesome chemistry between Miggy and Fabiola!
It was a surprising ending for a cute episode. I can't guess what Fabiola wants to do.
Loved Pablo when he was listening to Gus and Angela's conversation :)
I too think that the new cop is Gus' ex.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE –

oooh... another addition to the cast... Angeline Moncayo - I only know of her from from Más Sabe el Diablo... niiice!!!

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Great recap, Khihaku, wonderful!

I love all the humor on this show, with Fabiola and Miggy, JM, Willy, the kids. Fabiola was cute, not knowing that eating a whole pack of chocolates was bad. She did, however, figure out instantly how to turn off the music on the IPad, when Miggy caught her dancing.

I can't wait for her makeover.

I guess it's unlikely that Willy's operation will be a complete success, since he rushed it, and Sam was opposed. Also, it's too early for their problems to be resolved. I think.

I really, really want something bad to happen to El Jefe.

I feel sorry for Jessica, whose Dad is involved in bad things.

Yes, now that JM has left Angela so she can think about things, Gustavo talks about doing the same thing. What's a girl with no memory to do?

CORAZÓN VALIENTE -

thanks so much kihaku,
for doing the recap,
I always enjoy reading what you have to say.

btw
kihaku, did I pronounce that right?, is that a real name or a username,
I see a definition for kihaku, japanese, as 'the strength of spirit to face any situation', so cool...,

PABLO ESCOBAR -

thanks so much Hombre !!!

I've suspected that Guillermo would die for quite a while now,
we were told it would be today,
couldn't have been more ready for it,
and it still brought tears to my eyes,
(or maybe it was all of the cigarette smoke leaking out of my tv)
so sad...

I'm confused about Christmas in Colombia,
(especially, since last nights show supposedly occurred on December 17)
so some info from the web says,

"Christmas in Colombia is a religious event"

"As soon as December starts we take out our decorations which must include "el pesebre" or nativity, the Christmas tree, red and white candles, angels, and lights that we display on the windows or balconies of our home."

"In Colombia Christmas or "Navidad" starts on December 7th by celebrating the day of "La Virgen de la Inmaculada Concepción". This day is widely known as "El Día de las Velitas" or the day of the candles."

"On the 16th of December we reunite with family members, and I mean everybody, each night until the 24th to pray the novena. "La Novena de Aguinaldos" is a special occasion to get closer to our faith by remembering the birth of Jesus."

"The first thing they (children) do is to write a Carta al Niño Dios or baby Jesus. The letter goes in the nativity from where it mysteriously disappears, meaning baby Jesus took it so he can know what presents to place on or near your bed on the 24th of December."

"Many families after going to mass on the 24th and celebrating "La Nochebuena" continue partying the next day on the 25th. We typically wake up very late, eat leftovers, play more music, and have more fun."

"On the 31st of December we say good bye to the old year and prepare ourselves to receive the New Year."

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Kihaku, wow, just wow! That was a great recap!

When I watched the scene at Ofelia's velorio at first I thought Clara overheard the conversation about Lorena, but then I watched again and it was a split screen of her. She has no idea Willy and Sam knew Lorena.

Sam, I suppose, is behaving in character. She's impulsive and bossy. But she's not being very sensitive excluding Willy from things and treating him like an invalid.

Yes, Hombre, they've dropped waaay too many hints that Willy rushed his surgery. I'm not optimistic that he's going to be able to see right away.

Right about now I could watch El Jefe dumped in a vat of boiling oil and smile. Of course the writers have to keep Sam and Willy from the baby, but still... Now I'm wondering if the baby is really a girl. I suppose Lorena arranged an ultrasound for Clara and then faked her own ultrasound and came up with a girl as well.

PABLO ESCOBAR

Thanks, Hombre. Your descriptions of last night were excellent.

I did well up with tears at all the sad scenes of family members recording their love for Guillermo. For some reason I had thought they killed him by bombing El Espectador. No idea where I got that from.

Chili and Topo were somehow involved in the Christmas present delivery at the Escobar's. They showed a long scene of Chili's face when Escobar wanted an answer from him. It was: whatever you say, boss. So I guess Mireya's scolding produced some results. Or maybe he's still going to go rogue. Who knows?

CORAZÓN VALIENTE-
Super recap, kihaku! Thanks so much. I agree that this babe who is stalking JM is going to be Gustavo's ex.
Of course, all the people with info about Clara are the bad guys - D8D and Jefe.

I am not as enraptured about Miggy and Fabiola. They're cute but I find Fabiola rather tiresome.
When she gets her makeover, I'm sure we'll have her tottering around on spike heels and falling into Miggy's arms. I wish they'd get together and get it over with.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Jean, I agree with you about Fabiola. The fact that she keeps behaving like a child (gobbling food in a very feral way) makes it harder to see her as Miggy's eventual partner.

The actress who showed up at the beach house played one of the prostitutes in Flor Salvaje and a pole dancer/prostitute in Más Sabe el Diablo. If she's not going to be one in this novela, I'm sure it will be a relief!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

I also thought that the woman at the end was Gustavo’s ex. I guess she and JM will have something going on, but I’m already hoping that she’ll get back together with Gus.

I think Sam has always been… a bit meaner towards Willy than others. Although I also think that she’s just generally more intense with him. :) (He causes lots of strong emotions; positive and negative . :) ) But yeah, she’s being insensitive and selfish again, and it can be a bit grating. Luckily, she is sweet and understanding with him as well. :) (In this episode it felt a bit more… balanced. I thought she was at her worst during the incest storyline, so this doesn’t feel that bad).

I left the part out of the recap, but it was ironic how Willy commented (maybe he was being sarcastic. I just didn’t get that feeling) that he knows that Sam has no secrets from him, when she obviously does and has kept a lot of secrets from him in the past. (And has lied a lot as well)

What I also didn’t mention: Willy's inability to recognise Camilo’s voice. That seems to be a running gag. :) I DO hope he gets his eyesight back soon, but if not, I’d like this to continue. ;)

But yeah, I also I expect that something will happen with the operation, just because… it’s an operation and the telenovela has to milk the drama out of it.

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m SO looking forward to Jefe being killed off and I want it to be good. (Falling into boiling oil is a type of death we haven’t had yet!)

I disliked how Lorena’s character was ruined. She was portrayed as an unselfish and good person (albeit with a few issues) and then an illogical incident ruins everything and everyone hates her. I don’t want any more bogus explanations for the fake pregnancy. I hope we don’t have to hear too much about it.

I agree that Miggy and Fabiola have amusing scenes, but I’m just not "feeling" them. However, at least the comedy works.

Hombre mentioned the revolving cast, but I’ve also noticed a shift of focus since the beginning. While I was writing the recap it was so obvious how little there was of our supposed leads JM and Angie (even the main villain just danced, had sex and disappeared) and how much of Miggy and Fabiola (which makes sense, since their story is just getting started.) I have noticed that especially lately the amount screen time depends on whatever storyline is most prominent, but also that there aren’t really clear leads like at the beginning. (Basically the group of heroes, main villains and the revolving supporting characters share the screen time, although of course some are more important than others)

Deb, I think that is pretty much what my username means. It has different meanings, but I was going for something like strong fighting spirit when I chose it (so no, it’s not my real name and it’s pronounced how it's written in roman letters). And yes, it’s cool and powerful. :)

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

re 'revolving cast' - this is what Telemundo does - prolonging the novela since it probably has decent ratings. they just make up stuff as they go along. really irritating.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

I actually like the revolving cast... at least in the sense that the characters leave/are killed off when there is no need for them. It also provides the more "stable cast" with new storylines. I'm less into their just hanging around when the writers don't know what to do with them.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE -

I read a review of Corazon Valiente a while back that describes this novela fairly well,
this is part of it,

"Amnesia, blindness, and babies switched at birth are all fairly common telenovela plot lines – but it takes a show as nutty as CORAZÓN VALIENTE to toss them all on the screen at the same time. Yet, despite the ludicrous, nonsensical plots, the show inexplicably sort of works – it certainly isn't dull – it's a shark telenovela, always moving forward or it would die, the energy never wanes with some new silliness for the heroes to overcome introduced every couple episodes."

from,
http://www.welovesoaps.net/2012/08/tw818.html

It seems especially true to me that this type of novela needs to keep moving forward,
or it would indeed die a slow death.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – MIÉRCOLES – Part 1

The Fabiola gun thing was because she’s harping on the same old thing. She feels trapped in the Arroyo house and wants to be free.

JM holds his gun on the woman who appeared in yesterday’s episode. She asks him to lower the gun and she’ll prove who she is. She shows him her badge, says she’s Laura Aguilar, and has been assigned to make sure “they” don’t kill him.

Clara is at the hospital visiting her sick father when El Jefe approaches her. He lies through his teeth saying he’s with social services. He asks her some outrageous questions like how she can afford to pay for her father’s care. [Really? I would have told him to stuff it. I guess I’m not good telenovela character material.] She tells him she’s an only child and not married. She then says she works for Bernardo del Castillo and that’s her income.

D8D and Nora go toe to toe in the hospital about Fernanda. He tells her no one is going to change their daughter. D8D snarks to Nora about Lorena having been a liar [pot…kettle]. Nico sees their antagonism and asks if they were really married. Did they ever love each other? Nico says the same thing happened to Guadalupe and Esteban, but it isn’t going to happen to him.

Miggy tells Fabiola just where to shoot him to be sure to kill him. And go ahead and shoot. She asks him if he isn’t afraid. He says he’s always been more afraid of emotions than bullets. He finally gets fed up and tells her to leave and, if they kill her, he’ll be rid of a problem.

Willy is in surgery, while Sam prays in the hospital chapel. Angie comes to join her and they pray the guardian angel prayer of their childhoods.

Camilo comes to talk with Dante about the big drug deal. The Reptile shows up and, when Camilo leaves, tells Dante he’s not Luis. She tells Dante she was spending time with Johnny [Natalia’s husband] and that he invited her to his house. [I’m sorry; this plot development about the Reptile suddenly so comfortable with drug deals doesn’t work for me.]

Ángela asks Gus if JM is OK. Gus tells her he sent a great cop to protect him. She says it’s her fault he had to leave his home, and the kids miss him. She says she’s going to ask him to come back home. This causes some pain for Gus.

Willy wakes and can see!

Rod shows up to see Fabiola, saying he was in the neighborhood. He invites her to lunch, but she says she doesn’t have the proper clothing. Miggy insists she has had a fever. But, of course, she defies him and says she’s going shopping. Rod then invites her for dinner. Come on, the jackass kisses her hand again. Guys in their 20’s don’t do that.

Esteban approaches D8D at the hospital saying he wants to discuss Clara Salvatierra, causing D8D’s poker face to fail. He’s shocked.

JM appears to have gotten some negative ions from the ocean breezes and is strangely happy to be at the beach house. He presses the panic button that calls Laura, who runs in gun drawn. He says he wanted to test her. JM is definitely flirting!

D8D asks El Jefe what he knows about Clara. El Jefe responds: everything. D8D asks if he’s going to tell Sam and Willy. When he says no, D8D says they both think that what they’re doing will get them Sam. D8D says they’ll see who’s strongest. In this battle only one can win and we both agree that it can’t be Willy.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – MIÉRCOLES – Part 2

We get some estupideces when Pablo is concerned about the cost of Emma’s wedding dress, and she says, of course, she can’t afford one. The money is now Fabiola’s. Fabiola offers to pay for the dress, saying that she knows that Emma’s real mother would want her to be a beautiful bride. Miggy agrees to take them shopping.

D8D gives Clara some money and says something about the nenita. Clara gives him a funny look and asks how he could guess it was a girl. Intuition he replies.

Sam and Esteban are both in Willy’s room. Sam hits on the big question. What would Lorena gain by pretending to be pregnant when a baby never would be born? She goes even farther, alarming El Jefe. She says she’s concerned that their embryos might have been used. El Jefe says the clinic wouldn’t do that, and Sam shoots back that that clinic did fake sonograms. Sam says she’s going to get to the bottom of this and find the baby if it exists.

Miggy and Fabiola are at a shopping center. Two thugs call El Verdugo and tell him they have found Fabiola. Still feral, she almost takes off her shorts to try on clothes in the middle of a store.

Later El Jefe tells Sam and Willy he’ll investigate the embryo situation. Willy asks what we all want to know: “Sam, why do you trust him?”

D8D calls Verdugo and tells him he knows how to get Fabiola on a silver platter. His godson Rodrigo will win her over, gain her confidence and from there getting the treasure would be in the bag. Verdugo says something and D8D, alarmed, says “Too late?”

Miggy tells Fabiola at lunch a story about his mother teaching him a lesson for stealing some candy from a store.

El Jefe shows up to see D8D. Clara and Cecilia have just met and are talking in the lobby. Clara asks him what he’s doing there. Isn’t he social services? After he leaves Ceci tells him he’s a bodyguard.

JM asks Laura if she knows Gustavo Ponte. She says she knows him too well. JM says it appears she doesn’t think highly of him. She says they had their differences. When JM asks if he’s a good person, she figures it out. She says he might have good reason to be jealous because Gus is a man any woman would love.

Jessica’s father appears to be in on the Luna Azul drug deal. He talks with the Reptile (masked). He tells her that he knows Dante and Johnny feel good about tonight’s deal, but he smells a trap.

Gus warns Camilo that, if they suspect him, they’ll kill him. Camilo says he feels prepared, and he wants to right some of the wrong his brother did.

Sam tells Willy that a doctor who worked with Lorena has something important to tell them and is on her way. When she arrives, it’s the same woman who told El Jefe she wouldn’t say anything. She says she knew of Lorena’s plan and has come to tell all.

Clara tells D8D about Esteban showing up at his office. She says he said he was a social worker before. What’s going on?

Fabiola pushes some camouflage pants at Miggy asking him to try them on, and then she runs out of the store. When Miggy runs after her, she’s disappeared.

TU MUNDO

I'm going to be attending my book group tomorrow night and don't really want to load up my DVR with an awards show.

If anyone watches it, would you mind putting up a post of who won which award?

If it's like the TV y Novelas one, it will be best male villain, best female villain, etc.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE -

thanks so much novelera !
you're the best,

hmm, Gus isn't connecting with Angela's kids...

JM is connecting with Gus', is it wife, exwife, friend,

and Fabiola has disappeared,
Miguel will die inside,
to lose another gran amor,
under his protection.

interesting,
are Bernie and Nora still married?

btw,
wiki has a page on,
Premios tu mundo (2012),
it now has the nominees,
but the winners will be BOLD, when posted.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premios_tu_mundo_(2012)

I wasn't able to vote,
but I would have,
for Tony Daltón,
Flor Salvaje,
as the Best Bad Boy

PABLO ESCOBAR, Miércoles

The rest of the Cano family (not the granddauther) arrives at the hospital. Eldest son Juan (whose name I may have misheard, maybe he’s Guillermo) tells them “they killed Dad.” Luis Galán visits. Juan tells him, “his weapons were words, but they responded with bullets.”

The cartel members didn’t really know about the plan to murder Guillermo, but they instantly know Pablo did it. Mariachi is watching a soccer championship when the news breaks. Those fútbol players aren’t the real champions, we (the cartel) are, he muses. The Montoa brothers aren’t as pleased. Pedro says this wasn’t the right time, there’s going to be major payback. Marcos Herber is overjoyed. He shoots his gun in the air, swallows a huge hit of tequila, snorts a bunch of coke, and shouts “Yee-hah!” (or the Spanish equivalent).

Pati isn’t happy. She’s about 20 feet away from Pablo, who is on the phone with Marcos or Mariachi, saying, “Death is our instrument of power. It’s the only thing they understand.” Pati can’t hear this. She goes over to Pablo, asks him to swear he had nothing to do with the killing. “Course not, honey. I swear on the lives of our children. Now don’t you worry your little head about it. Let’s enjoy our Christmas presents!”

The President consoles Ana Maria, the widow of Guillermo Cano. The cabinet meets to decide what to do next. Luis Galán talks to General Ulloa, who as usual, doesn’t want to do much of anything. Guillermo’s daughter hasn’t been told yet.

The cartel members all saddle up and head for the next party/strategy session. Gonzalo has a big suitcase (money for the thugs?).

Guillermo’s son Juan is told by his top editor to take the day off. But Juan can’t, he needs to write a personal note to put in the morning edition. He breaks down into tears. His editor says we need to uphold your father’s standards, and not publish things until we have the evidence.

We see a montage of Guillermo Cano’s life, the happy times, the tough times, the tragic times. We see how it affects all the family members, especially a 20 year old son with curly hair whose name, I think is Camilo Cano. In real life, that’s one of the producers of this show.

The morning headline reads “Tomorrow - day of silence”. From the highest national official, down to the guy who operates the newspaper presses, the shock is keenly felt.

No show Thursday for the Premios Tu Mundo. The previews say they lost a battle, but the war isn’t over. Ojalá.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Thanks, Novelera, great recap!

As soon as Sam and Angela started praying, I realized there was a good chance Willy would recover his sight. Amazingly, he didn't have bandages or even sunglasses (although I think they said he'd have to wear them). In La Fuerza del Destino, the blind girl took weeks after every operation just to keep bandages on. But in our show, Willy is pretty much instantly totally cured. Just like half of the other cast members who've been in "grave" condition, flatlined, and then were fine the next day. Think about D8D. He was shot, blown up, I don't know what else. He was totally covered with bandages (I know he substituted someone at some point, but he was covered, too, wasn't he?) And now, not a scratch.

The only one who has any scars is the Reptile, and that's because we need it for the plot.

Can I go to that super hospital the next time I'm in "grave" condition, please?

PABLO ESCOBAR

Thanks for the great recap, Hombre. Yeah, I knew one of the Cano sons was involved with the production, thus most of the episode was an elegy to his father. Fine with me, although I thought the singing of some song throughout was distracting. Instrumental music would have been better.

The eldest son is Juan Guillermo, who the family call Juangui. I've seen that actor in minor roles in other telenovelas, most frequently as a comical figure. I think he portrayed the grief at losing his father but also needing to be there for the rest of the family very well.

What I gathered from Mariachi's comments while watching the soccer match was that the team that won was sponsored by the Cali cartel, who bought the best players AND the referees! Mariachi was jealous.

Wow, Escobar is willing to swear on the lives of his children to keep Pati chilled out.

It's almost literally sickening the contrast between the grieving Cano family and the backslapping Medellín cartel get-together.

CORAZON VALIENTE-
Thanks for your usual great recap, Novelera. The cable service at the house we are at in Barnegat Light, NJ has Telemundo but no VCR and when I watch, my family makes comments like: "Look at those boobs!" "Is that guy good or bad?"

Anyway, I thought the same things about Willy's surgery as you, Hombre. No bandages, no tense waiting period to see if he can see. It's like we're done with the blind thing, so let's move on.

I loved the review of CV that you quoted, Deb. It's exactly what is fun about this novela - it just barrels along.

Why is JM not paying attention to calls from Ángela? You'd think if he gave her time to think, ha would be interested in hearing from her but then of course he wouldn't be fooling around with Laura. I couldn't tell the first time I saw her in sunglasses but now I see that she is the actress who played Correcaminos on Flor Salvaje.

TU MUNDO

Thanks for the link for the winners of tonight's show, Deb.

Tony Dalton was fabulous in Flor Salvaje, but I don't know if he qualifies as a pure villain.

He turned pretty sweet towards the end. But I'd like him to win because I really like the actor.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Jean, what you described from your family is exactly why I switched off the novela last Friday evening when my son dropped by. I finished watching, and recapping, the next day. He can't resist asking the same questions when he tries to patiently let me watching something in Spanish.

PABLO ESCOBAR:

Thanks for the corrections and additional info, Novelera. I didn't really understand what Mariachi said about the soccer teams, but thinking back, I'm sure you're right.

TU MUNDO:

I did watch a lot of the awards show, and it was great! I especially liked the short dresses many of the actresses were almost wearing. Carmen Villalobos (who along with Jencarlos Canela won something) had one so tight and short it was amazing she could walk.

Cynthia Olavarria (Sofia in Corazon, Diana in El Rostro) has a short almost see through dress which beautifully displayed her figure. Ximena Duque had a super short dress with no back (Fabian Rios mad a crack about that).

The presenters for best kiss were Judge Ana Maria Polo and David Chocarro. The crowd yelled, beso, and sure enough, the tall handsome star kissed the middle age (but lovely) judge.

Fabian Rios (Willy) declined to kiss Ximena (Samantha) because that just happens "on set" and Ximena is "a lady".

Aylin Mujica won several awards, including best villainess, and plastered a sloppy kiss on her co-presenter, much like her Reptile character.

Jencarlos sang the Mi Corazon Insiste song, which won best song, starting on the piano (he was playing, but not the same notes we heard), then switching to a techo remix of the song. Okay...

One of the ranchera groups (maybe Banda del Limon?) sang, but most of the attention was on a young girl who stripped to her lingerie and took a shower onstage (she was a "dancer").

La Reina del Sur didn't win anything.

The boy from Una Maid en Manhattan and El Rostro won child star. He's really cute. Rafael Amaya, one of the hosts, sporting a weird haircut, sort of 50's, held him up to reach the mike.

Wanda D'Isidoro (Laura on Fantasma de Elena, Veronica on Rostro) is really tall. So is Martiza Rodriguez, who's about 5'10" anyway, but was wearing 6 inch heels. Her short skirt looked great, but her hair was too tightly slicked back, and her face so shiny that she looked a bit severe. BTW, I think she's married to Joshua Mintz, who produced many of the shows.

The whole thing seemed less polished than the Univision awards shows, but I liked it.

TU MUNDO:

And for you ladies:
Gabriel Porras won best actor. He looked great as usual. Miguel Varoni (Javier in La Casa de al Lado) now has long grey-white hair, slicked back, and glasses. He actually looked really good, and is also really tall (that's why his wife in the show was Maritza). In fact, most of the guys have to be at least six feet tall, since the ladies wear such outrageous heels. Darn, I was so looking forward to a second career as a telenovela hunk, but since I'm only 5'8", I'm out of luck :)

TU MUNDO

Thanks so much, Hombre, for the posts on the awards show. It sounds like it might have been pretty good. The only way I can tolerate those shows is to DVR them and fast forward through most of the musical acts. I just don't much care for Latin pop music. I like merengue, salsa, and I love mariachis.

Unbelievable. The most popular show in, I think, forever, La Reina del Sur won nada? And it wasn't just popular, it was amazingly well done and well acted. Oh well.

So I guess Porras won for his role in La Casa de al Lado instead of his current role in Corazón Valiente. He's been good in both.

TU MUNDO

Whoah! is that Mario cimarro holding hands w/ Vanessa Villela (of Una Maid, and Eva Luna)? are they an item?

Sonya Smith is so beautiful and the classiest; Porras is lucky to have her.

the 2niñas from CV are adorable.

my personal fave - Jorge Luis Pila .. papacitoooo! Jencarlos -2nd.

Premios Tu Mundo 2012 -

thanks Hombre !

I didn't get to see the show but did see some of the red carpet stuff,
I thought I saw Brenda Asnicar (Fabiola) flash by,
she also shopped at a Carmen Villalobos dress shop,
but still with the wild hair,
she really looks like a fun person.

I guess the awards were determined by,

"Fans from all over the country have already submitted nearly five million votes online at www.premiostumundo.com and through Telemundo's entertainment iPhone App, selecting their favorite television shows, actors and actresses, movies, music, athletes and stars among 25 categories."

voting "ended on August 17, 2012"

the "The Favorite of the Night" (Jencarlos Canela) award, was determined by twitter votes on the same night as the show.

it seems as though almost all of the choices as well as the winners were shows that were filmed at their studios in Miami,

the odd one out was,
"The Best Bad Boy"
won by Tony Daltón ("Flor Salvaje")
woo hooo !!!!!

that was such an incredibly written part,
and Tony did it so well!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Thanks so much for the reacp!!

I thought that something might happen during the operation even if Willy would regain his eyesight. I guess they’re done with that storyline that didn’t really lead anywhere. Sam and Willy do have another storyline involving another disappeared (possible) kid of theirs.

Gosh, Sam is such a moron. There is absolutely no reason to trust El Jefe and every reason NOT to trust him. Omnipotent contacts or not. Also, why isn’t anyone questioning whether Jefe gets his info from his "contacts" the legal way?

Not sure why D8D and El Jefe think that hiding a kid from Sam increases their chances with her. That worked so well in the past, after all.

Deb: Yeah, Nora and D8D are still married. Unless they were divorced and it wasn’t mentioned. Actually, I don’t get why they wouldn’t get a divorce, since they don't want to be with each other. (Maybe D8D would lose too much money?)

Thanks for that quote, Deb! It’s pretty spot-on. No matter how over the top and/or ridiculous the novela is, it’s always entertaining (mostly, because SO much happens). Although, I do admit that some illogical happenings and retcons take away from my enjoyment of the novela.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Kihaku, the only thing I can think of about El Jefe and D8D being so eager to keep Sam and Willy's child from them is that they think having the baby will bind them together.

They thought the same thing about Nicolás. D8D knew where he was and didn't tell them. Then El Jefe found out Nico was Sam's and ALSO hid it from her for a long time.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Yeah, true, but as you mentioned, they already tried that and it didn’t work and not to mention that Sam and Willy already have a kid binding them together. Yes, another one would bind them even more, but keeping them from finding out about her… doesn’t change anything. Both El Jefe and D8D are doing very little to actually try and get Sam, but I suppose it's consistent with their previous lame attempts and their incomprehensible delusions concerning her, especially after she already has found out about their previous schemes and despises the both of them. (Well, at least D8D. But she has no respect for Jefe either.) But yeah, it’s sort of funny, frustrating and odd watching those two, because I just can’t comprehend why they would think they’d have a chance and why they would think that their schemes and plans in question would help them in any way. :)

(Btw. speaking of Nico... Sam and Willy never found out that both D8D and El Jefe actually hid the truth from them, although they did suspect it, so maybe this rehashed storyline will at least reveal that about them. :) )

CORAZÓN VALIENTE -

on the maybe baby,
I was thinking D8D will adopt her,
then use this legal status as leverage/blackmail over Sammi and/or Willy,
and maybe even park the baby somewhere out of their reach,
just to torment them.

on Jefe,
I don't know if he ever has a plan,
I think that's just how he is,
never thinking anything through.
