Por ella soy Eva #31 8/29/2012: Thank goodness, it's not Father's Day!

Thank goodness, it's not Father's Day!

We begin with Pluto offering his” friend’s apartment" to Helena at minimal expense to Helena.
In the hallway - Santiago and Adriano meet up- Adriano asks Santiago to not discuss that they were at the same club last night. Adriano will owe a favor to Santiago. Santiago cashes in his chip- and asks for a loan. Adriano obliges.
Fernando and Marsela -Marsela suggests that since they are making more money they could buy another car. Fernando doesn't like the independent Marsela!!! During the discussion a blue dress let's Marsela know that Adriano wants her to come to his office. She went on leaving a perplexed Fernando to stand alone.
Eva meets up with the blue dress who asked Eva if she has heard anything else about Max and the blue dress lets her know that Pluto told them not to investigate anymore. He wanted to know any details that they knew and he would handle it from there. The blue dress told the right one. The last detail they have is Max is working at the Taurus Agency, their competition.
Pluto hands a bunch of binders, notebooks and files to Antonia and asks her to arrange them in order and that they are all important. Antonia insists on just working on the Mayagua Project. He leaves the pile of binders with Antonia and Rebeca. Good, she finally has something work related to complete. He thanks both of his gals for their cooperation and assistance.
Helena' s office- Eva asks Helena for a little bit of time off to run an errand with her cousin. She will be right back. Helena is not so happy that Eva keeps taking time off during work hours, but she allows her to leave.

Eva arrives at the Taurus Agency- and finds out that Max hasn't worked there for a while. Eva yells out Samantha and when Samantha gives her look, as of to say how do, you know my name? Eva quickly says that they met in Cancun at a tourist convention in June. Does she know anything of Max; he was Juan Carlos' right hand. She asks if Eva knows that JC is dead and that he should spend eternity in hell!

Luisa is studying and in walks Eduardo, El Bastardo, he like Fernando sits down and expects that his meal should magically appear. He even rings the plate. WTH???
Luisa happily says that she will be right with him but she wants to finish what she is working on. Of course Eduardo thinks that these studies are a waste of time. She remembers when they first met, OMG she was 15. She wanted to grab a man (husband) like everyone else. She didn't know how to iron, cook, sew or anything, her mother in law showed her how to do everything. I wonder if she was as wonderful as her son? According to Eduardo, Luisa couldn't light a candle to his mom. Oh boy! His kind words never seem to surprise me.

Back at the competition- an agitated Samantha wants to know why Eva is there? Well just as Juan Carlos made you suffer so did Max Montes to me. Hmmm?? Max, a playboy?? Who knew? Eva starts crying and being her usual dramatic self and Samantha makes an exception and orders the receptionist to give her his information. Eva thanks her and hopes that she is blessed with many children. Samantha was not too happy! I guess that she is not the maternal type.

Marsela is on the phone talking to her daughter Jennifer, she says Jennifer should talk to Fernando and get his permission so that she can go to her friend's house. Jennifer spoke to him and he said to ask her. Don't come home late and call me when you get there.
Adriano compliments Marsela on her work. Marsela's cell rings - its Fernando- oh come on! He wants to know when is going to leave the meeting while he is in his office throwing paper airplanes. I need to contact the Human Resources of GI; I want a paper pilot office job like his!
Eva announces her arrival. Helena finished her work and now is going to take care of some personal business. She tells Eva about the new apartment! Eva's hug is suffocating Helena. Eva explains that the northerners are so lovable and bear hugs are a costume and it's in their DNA.
Eva convinces Helena to let her accompany her to the new apartment and does her little Happy Dance. -YES!!!
Back to the meeting- hopefully there will be no more cell interruptions. Why wasn't her phone on vibrate? Really?? Marsela has a presentation assignment to complete for Adriano but he doesn't want to pressure her and he doesn't to overburden her because she does have responsibilities at home. How kind of him. On the other hand he has nothing to do at work and at home.
Marsela will bring in a more concrete proposal tomorrow. And leave it on his desk. Then Adriano makes a remark about women- women like Marsela surprise him. They are good at work, but at the end of the day women are women, good and bad but nothing but women. How profound- jerk!

We are at Helena's new apartment and Eva offers to pick up Lalito and bring him home as a help. The "girls" leave.

In Marsela's office, boy Fernando is fiddling around doing as always nothing rearranging the items on the bookcase and asking when will she be home and to remember that she has a family. How can she forget? He is always nagging and whining. Since he is such a responsible father he is going to Kevin's soccer training. Marsela briefly feels a little guilty.

Luisa thanks Eva for being an inspiration to her and she is continuing her studies. Eva says that if she and Helena keep hanging out there is no end to what they can do. Lalito comes home and greets his mom and Eva and asks if Eva can stay for dinner. Helena tells Lalito that they are not going to sleep there because they are going to a surprise, an apartment for the two of them. Then -The Prince of Darkness (Eduardo) appears and says that Helena is not taking him anywhere. He is carrying the dreaded blue folder. Uh oh!! He wants to take Helena's maternal rights from her. Huh? Eduardo filed legal papers to get the paternal rights from his daughter because she is a bad mother. Huh??? She abandoned her son and they took her license away from her due to plagiarism. What investigation took place?? Eva defends Helena. Eduardo shuts her down. She has worked on this project for years. Well Eduardo has seen her with men at night and lowering her reputation. How, by not dancing in the club with them, is he kidding? Helena breaks it down to Eduardo. Lalito is MY son and no one, not even you are going to take him away from me. During this process, Lalito cannot be removed from this house.

Fernando is waiting for Kevin and sees the coach. The coach says that Kevin has not been to training since the beginning of the trimester. We leave Fernando with his usual pensive look. - Duh!!!

Helena lets Eduardo know that he is not going to take Lalito from her. Eduardo lets her know that with that petition, he cannot go with her. Lalito is distraught that his mother and grandfather are fighting over him. Luisa puts Lalito to bed. Eva lets Eduardo have it. You have no respect for your family, nevertheless Helena. With this you are capable of damaging your family. Eduardo tries to bite Eva's head off, but she continues to speak up giving accolades about Helena and her character. Eva lets him know that if he continues to use the legal route, he (Eduardo) will lose. I thought that the wig was going to come off and Juan Carlos and Eduardo were going to go toe to toe, but this is a novela so Eva let Eduardo know that she is a lady. Since Eduardo couldn't take her down he decided to call the police.- lol

Fernando- is sitting down listening to music and not preparing dinner, oh right, Marsela has to cook after she comes home from work. Oh please don't get up and help Marsela with her bags. Marsela asks for the kids and washes her hands to start dinner. Fernando informs her that Jennifer is in her room but Kevin must be out getting high because has not been going to practice for months and he is not getting any attention from his mother.

Eduardo- calls the police (Eva could take them)- lol
Eva lets Eduardo know that he needs the police to handle such a fragile lady. Helena tells her father that this won't end nicely. You can't take Lalito. Dad says don't be so sure, you don't have a place for him and you go out frolicking with men. Which Helena is that? I've never seen her.
The po po arrive. Eduardo summons them to remove Eva. Eva did not want to leave Helena alone with her madman of a father! The police comment on Eva's size. This scene was comical.

Marsela doesn't know where Kevin is but the seated Fernando says that mom always justifies what he does, maybe if he had a cell phone, we would know of his whereabouts. Oh should I get him a car and a house too?! Remarks Fernando. In walks Kevin!!!

The Police try to remove Eva from Helena's house, uh oh. Luisa is yelling enough of the scandal, speaks up for Eva and the police leave. Eva leaves on her own accord and lets Eduardo know that he is the worst father in the world!

Kevin tries to tell what he is doing after school, nothing bad just hanging out with friends, but Fernando is now standing over him yelling So no one can get a word in. What an idiot? Fernando blames Marsela, because as a mother she should be home with her children, not working. What cave did Marsela find Fernando in?? You have a clean house and food to eat, but mom, daddy is right. Kevin explains that he comes home to an empty house and that’s all of the ammunition that Fernando needs. Here's an idea- since everyone can come and go at Grupo Imperio- maybe Fernando can come home and check on him in his spare time-yeah right

Lalito - was afraid that Helen would be arrested? He asked what's wrong with grandpa? If we move he won't see you much and he is going to miss you. Helena tried to explain that if they move things will change. We all know that perhaps a personality change is in order for Eduardo

Adriano's house- looked like he was hung over and he can 't go for too many late nights like he did. He was a little embarrassed that one of his employees was at the club that they were at.

Lalito- wants to know how come you don't live here. Helena swears that they will live together soon. Is grandpa still angry? Yes, Lalito it appears that grandpa was born that way!!!

Adriano- . His chippie shows him some of her purchases, Wow! He is the best-yuck, he wasn't too happy with the purchase. He lets chippie know that their romance won't be headed to the altar. Really? Don't stress over it - Ewww!

Eva was waiting outside of Eduardo's house, she was concerned. Helena shares with Eva that Dad has been like that for years, that aggressive attitude. The fights are wearing on her and this fight started because she wanted to pick up Lalito from school alone.
Luisa let him know that karma will deal with him and the hurt that is causing to his family. Lalito went to bed crying. His hate for Helena and evil will hurt him, mentally and physically and when Lalito realizes what he is doing to his mother, he will lose him too. She stood her ground! Eduardo has lost what he loves most in life.

Juan Carlos feels helpless - as Juan Carlos he doesn't exist and as Eva he couldn't help. Mimi tells him to utilize Eva, take advantage of being a woman. Men have more advantages than women in the eyes of the world. You are learning. Her father is inhuman. He has Max's address, it's near Cuernavaca.

Eva in the office-Helene needs a good lawyer. Eva gives Helena a card
Luisa has enough -she is leaving Eduardo- you go girl!
Pluto overhears Eva 's plan to go look for Max Montes. Eva tells Helena that it gets darkest before the dawn, so concentrate on the dawn.

Eduardo- tells her to think about what I'm not sure. (My thought - if you kick a dog, he will bite you.) She let him know that she married him because she loved him but she can't take any more humiliation. Luisa accepts her responsibility with the problems in their marriage.
She let him know that she packed hers and Lalito's bags.
He said -over his dead body and that he will proceed legally in getting the parental rights without Helena and without her.

Breakfast at Fernando's- Fernando asked where is Kevin going after school? He still hasn't said. It's all Marsela's fault. Marsela needs to make a decision-continue to work as an executive or quit her job and be a stay at home mother! What an idiot!!!!

I think Helena needs to get a haircut!

In novelas, when the Sweet Young Thing transitions into a new stage in her life, she gets a new hairstyle and new wardrobe. Well, I think Helena sure could use a new stage in life right about now, so I say she should get a haircut!

Thank you TJ. This episode had my blood boiling. Seriously. Once Kevin said he was acting out because no one was home, I turned the volume off and started doing laundry. Could not listen to one more word from Bastardo or Bastardo Jr. (Fermando).

Thanks for the wonderful recap. It's not Father's Day, indeed! We've got mean dog Eduardo and the ever more ridiculous Fernando. Looks like Kevin is a macho-in-training. And Lalito is doomed to be a Bastardito if he remains with his grandfather.

Paula, I think Helena needs a new wardrobe rather than a new haircut. That green see-through blouse she wore the other day was quite...., well, I'm not sure how to describe it. Not exactly Sweet Young Thing, anyway!

TJ--Thanks for this wonderful recap. One thing, Helena's mama's name is Silvia not Luisa.

So right about it not being Father's Day. Eduardo the Bastardo is beyond hellish. To try to take his grandson from his Mama, horrid. I just knew that was some type of legal paper he got yesterday. I'd really like to see the proof that Helena is a bad mother, that Eduardo the Bastardo used. I didn't see him giving anything to that lawyer. I hope the lawyer that Helena gets can get her custody of Lalito. This is so unfair and wrong. Yay, Silvia for finally standing up to the Bastardo. I hope once this custody issue is over, Helena, Lalito and Silvia all get a place. Silvia so deserves some peace and happiness.

Isn't it just like Fernando? What a jackwagon. Leave everything to Mom. Poor Marcela has to do everything. Fernando doesn't even work at work. He is lazy and is just interested in himself. He feels like he should be in charge of everything, Marcela's job for one, and king of the castle at home. He is losing all the way around.

I think Kevin wants his parents to stop fighting. I got that impression when Marcela and Fernando argued the other night, and Kevin probably thinks if he agrees with Fernando, Marcela will quit her job and stay home. Kevin needs a better role model.

So now we know the Max Montes girlfriend/wife's name. Samantha. They never used her name before now. I remember the actress from DA.

That police scene with Eva was too funny. She could have taken them both out, lol. Eduardo the Bastardo is such a chicken, can't stand the truth, so he has to call the cops, what a wimp.

Thank you, Tablet Boss! That was a lot of material to cover.

I can't believe it. Eva, Silvia, and Helena ALL stood up to Bastardo... but it was Silvia who went the limit, because only she was in a position to really scare him.

I don't know if Bastardo is bluffing or not about letting Lalito end up in a foster home, but it's unlikely that a judge would give custody to a man who was willing to let such a thing happen. I hope she doesn't back down.

I hope Marcela doesn't back down, either. EVERY day is Father's Day for those guys. It's high time they learned how to be adults.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for the recap. I messed up with my VCR yesterday & so I missed this epi but with your description I feel as if I saw it all.

Very appropriate title. Those two are the worst! Eduardo is just mean and vindictive -- and a danger to Lalito's sense of right & wrong and of male roles. Fernando is just an ass. He must be very insecure to be so concerned about controlling everything around him.

I was disappointed to hear that Kevin chimed in to let Marsela take the blame. I think that he is just using that as a ruse to hide what he's really up to -- a dance class maybe? I don't think that he really wanted to cause trouble for his mom. IMHO he just saw a way to turn the conversation away from himself.

Thank you for the compliments, I am happy to step in.
Thank you, Madeline for giving me Silvia's correct name.
Sadly, there are no positive male roles on this show. What's up with that??

Sadly, there are no positive male roles on this show.

Yes, the only admirable, or even non-dirtbag man on the show is a woman!

Were it not from a Colombian script, I'd swear that someone responsible for this is a serious man-hater. Tontas, another OCampo project, was also heavy on man-bashing.

It makes me wonder. All the men at GI have a flagrant contempt for women. That makes them terrible and awful, right? But apparantly the writers of this show have a flagrant contempt for men, by showing all of them as dirtbags. Does that make the writers terrible and awful too?

Good point, Paula. On the other hand, at least three of the machisto idiots have good hearts underneath their ridiculous attitudes. I expect some major attitude adjustments in store for Adriano, Fernando, Santiago --oh, and Diego.

Güera

Güera - what do you predict for Plutarcho? Part of me wants him to turn into a decent guy and good husband for Antonia... but another part of me wants to see him dissolve slowly in a vat of powerful salsa.

thank you, Tablet Jefa! I missed some of the dialog last night, and you cleared things up wonderfully.

Like Vivi, I had to take a break, the story line was stressing me out so much. I stopped the tape and went and did something else for a while until I could face the story again.

I've loving this novela.

Were't the tiny policment a hoot?

TH...thank you for the recap. What did you make of that final scene with Eduardo alone watching Lalito sleep? Was that supposed to show tenderness? Or, something else? I keep waiting for some really dark skeleton to come out of Eduardo's past.

Adriano's kissie -face scenes with chippie are painful to watch. As in, yuckie! Can't wait for this storyline to move along. And is it my TV or is there something a little odd about chippie's teeth? They look discolored on my screen. It's a distraction that takes away the allure of some one who is supposed to represent the epitome of over-sexed female chickie-dom playing to a poor old fella who would do well to curb the Viagra.

Thanks TabletJefa. Great recap of a horrible episode. I sure hope men in Mexico are not as dreadful as portrayed. I want all my daughters to become nuns if they were.

At last I understand Silvia's difficulty in standing up her husband. She married at 15 did they say? and they lived with his mom who bullied her as much as he did, evidently. What a lovely family tree!

I need Fernando to change quickly. He bothers me even more than the vicious Eduardo for some reason.

I'm with you JudyB. Every night I tell myself that the nasty one is Eduardo & every night I end up fuming over the behavior of Fernando instead.

Julie, I'm also ambivalent about Plutarco. I like thinking of him swaying back & forth between your two scenarios.

Güera

Thanks, TabletJefa. I agree with Paula that Helena could use a new hairstyle. And, we see several guys who could use a brain transplant.

Eduardo-Bastardo looks really evil. He's probably a nice guy in real life, but his sneer looks like it comes naturally. Interesting how Silvia stood up to him.

I couldn't believe how Fernando told Keven to leave his plate on the table for Marcela to pick up AFTER she asked everyone to please take their plates from the table.

La Paloma

Welcome to the team, TJ. I'll do the recap tonight. It'll be my first official one.

And yeah, I agree with you guys that by making ALL the men in the show look ridiculous it becomes in reverse the same thing they're trying to expose.

@Dona Felipa

I think Paola has braces on the inside of her teeth and that is what makes her teeth look funny.
