Por ella soy Eva #22 8/16/2012: Discussion Post

I'll be gone tonight so I'm putting up the discussion post early. Enjoy! If anyone decides to post a recap, you may want to post your intention before you start, so you don't duplicate work.

Thanks for posting this, Paula.

I have to prepare for a fateful meeting I'm going to tomorrow, but first I'd like to share my thoughts on tonight's episode:

Shut up, Eduardo! Nobody likes you!!

Ah, Julie, short and to the point. Totally agree...

Julie,

Add me to the Amen Corner.

Rosemary Primera

The little boy who plays Eva's son is the first child actor who's been spot on in a Univision novela in quite a while----in my humble opinion. A beautiful boy and plays the part so dearly.

Correction....Helena's son.

Ditto and Ditto. Go away, Eduardo & Lalito is wonderful.

I loved the scenes in the amusement park. I guess we now know Pluti's intentions. he looked like he'd just swallowed something luscious & chocolate when he held Helena and smelled her hair. Loved the camera which moved to his wedding band as he swooned.

Totally agree - Lalito is just right. A good actor and not a big ham.

For a few minutes, I almost found myself not hating Pluto. But then I remembered that he has a wife who loves and trusts him. Plus a girlfriend who... well I don't know exactly how she feels about him, but she figures he's all hers too. So I'm recovered now. Phew.

Tonight's Fea moment: the homely, awkward assistant arrives at work but trips and fall outside the big orange building.

I work from home, so over lunch every day I watch a recent cap, slowly with CC's during the interesting parts, to catch little bits I missed. There is a bawdy like in Mexico, something like, "Women are like men, except that las mujeres faltan uno y sobran dos" (think body parts). On the day of Eva's interview, when she kept pointing out how unqualified the bimbos were, she did a variation on that line, "Lo que faltan ellas sobra yo." CLARO!

Julie - so agree with you. Eduardo either needs to shut up or just go. Noone likes him. He is so bitter and hateful.

I agree with y'all about Lalito. Such a precious boy. He is a great actor already.

Thanks for that explanation of "lo que faltan ellas sobra you" Paula. I was not acquainted with the relevant bawdy saying but I sure won't forget it. (and how did you learn it m'dear?)

Julie, I had that same weak moment. That actor HAS played good guys and when Plutarco hugged Helena and seemed so smitten, I actually felt a little pang. The director must have sensed that possible reaction, therefore the quick pan to his wedding ring.

Ahh, so you ladies felt the Marcelo magical pull? I will admit it; he's one of the reasons why I watch this show. I find him delicious, even when he's playing a very bad guy, like he is here. In LFDD, he was a bad boy, with a good streak. That was perfect for him. Also, LFDD had the best child actor I have seen yet in a tn. This kid (Lalo) doesn't hold a candle to Alex, sorry. But he is doing a good job.

I know Marcelo from Pasión. He played the sweetest man, and I loved him with the long hair. He's so evil as Pluto that it can be difficult to remember that he's the same guy. That's the mark of a great actor!

I thought it was going to be all over when "Eva" fell from the tree.

Helena's dad continues to get on my last nerve. He needs a heart attack and a hospital room.

I also had a moment of weakness in the closing scene. I am so annoyed by Marcela's macho husband and the way he uses her -- at home and at work -- and the way he treats his daughter. But the look on his face when he found out that his wife had been with Diego before she was with him -- he looked so vulnerable. I kinda felt for him. But-- it was the closing camera shot & when we get back tonight his sweet sad face may turn macho indignant & vengeful.

Marcela's husband really is useless. At work, she does her job and his, and for a while her wasn't even bringing in a salary. In the house, she's the one who has the tough conversations with the kids (like the sex talk), takes them to their activities or arranges them, cooks, cleans, and in general makes sure things are running well. Don't know why she love the guy so much. Of course, he's not nearly as bad as Bastardo. He better not turn into a major jerk to her after learning that he wasn't her first.

I am envisioning an overhead anvil for Marcela's husband! He deserves a thump on the head. Not divorce but a labor strike by his wife and daughter. And dispairaging his wife's work?! Basta boy you don't even do your own work.

Pluto looks like he may modify his agenda but his primary plan has always been to become the widower with stock. The modification may become dump Rebecca and replace with Helena.

Did anyone else think Edwardo looked like he might be open to listening to Plutarco about searching for Lalito??

I guess Eva fell out of the tree on purpose to keep Lalo from running away? I'm just not sure because Televisa is always so hamfisted with things like that, and this time there was no flashing sign over his head that said, "I have to fall to bring him back."

Mutt is useless, but he does love Marcela (albeit like a 2yo loves his mommy), but on a good day I'm sure he's charming and funny, and he'd never knowingly hurt her. But he's so dense, he doesn't know.

From the previews, I think I know what Friday's Fea moment will be.

Based on Camil's Twitter, he's staying in LA right now, and a couple days ago he complained the Univision hacked out scenes from that day's broadcast. Welcome to our world, Honey!

It bugs me that Helena won't even let Eva ask about a picture of Lalo - Stay out of my private life!!! - because she trusted a man and he hurt her. But she WILL let some man paw her and hold her arm and drive her places on personal business twice!

The bar scene - didn't that seem like it ended abruptly? No follow-up to her escaping the python, and no follow-up to what her dad heard in the bar. More chopped scenes, I'm sure.

Bastardo Eduardo - letting Diego talk about his own daughter like that. Even if Helena were a tramp, he should have enough family loyalty to say "nobody disrespects my daughter like that [except me]."

So Pluto has a heart. I was beginning to think he was made of stone.

Marcela's husband deserved that jolt. For me, the worse is when he talks over her.

I agree, Paula H. I was expecting much more from the bar scene. After all that buildup it was a big nada.

I though Helena was very tiresome last night with Eva. Hope tonight is more fun.

I don't think Pluto has a heart as much as a, um, (body part here). I love the actor, but the character lost all charm when he sniffed her hair. That's just not a turn on, boys.

Totally agree about Lalito. he doesn't yell! He's great.

I think the anvil over Mutt's head is that while he may not have been Marcela's first, she was his first. That's going to be a hard one to live down when Jeff finds out (assuming Jeff isn't a virgin too).

Kelly

(are these verifications getting harder or is my eye site getting worse?)

Paula - I was a bit confused that the bar scene ended where it did, too. Glad it wasn't just me.

I don't think Eva fell out of the tree on purpose. Maybe the fake buns in JC's pantyhose screwed up his balance.

I do hope that Helena will thaw out with Eva. There's no reason for her to be so abrupt with one of the few people at GI who actually wants her to succeed.

Bonney, sure Ed seemed open to listening to Pluto. Pluto is a man, after all! He would have hated the same idea if it had come from Helena or another woman.

Kelly, I agree, I think that wasn't so much Pluto having a heart as having something else. But if his lust will delay his plans to do something really awful to her, maybe it's for the best in the short term.

I don't think Jeff (Santiago) is a virgin. It sounded as though he and Angelica were quite the hot couple before she cheated on him and he took up with Paty.

And yes, I swear the captchas are getting worse. Today is worse than yesterday. Sometimes I have to refresh the image several times before I get one that I can actually read.
