Amor Bravío #55 (Uni 50) Wed 10/31/12 "It is what it is"
Labels: bravio
Ay! Lots of set up for bad things to follow from the events of last night. Leon is set free which gets everyone in a tizzy; Dio is going to move into the ranch (!); Javier Diaz forms a biz alliance with Isa; Bratgirl is playing mind games with Luzma; and Luzma breaks poor Pablo’s heart.
The good stuff: Rafa seems to finally accept that Cami is not for him and only has eyes for D’Andres, but he may be in the same jealousy boat with Vivi and Aaron; and Xi’s theft gets outed.
Ruh roh! moments: Al loses it big time when he gets served with the divorce papers with accusations of impotence, and the previews show that he reacts violently with Cami! Dan admits to Cami that her mom is in Vegas with Dio, and he knows because he’s Dio’s employee!
Cindy
Kudos to the writers, director and SN for not forgetting that Cam has an injury that isn't going to magically disappear.
Did Dio tell Agustina that he expected to be treated like the man of the house and with respect when he moved into the hacienda?
Nanette
ITA about Luzma walking around by herself. I was glad that Dan was following her.
Cami often throws in some ouchies when she sits wrong (usually on Dan's lap) or has been sitting for a long time and then gets up. Just like you would if you had a leg injury. She's also gone scurrying for her pain meds a few times, like last night. The only time she seemed to totally forget about it was her first night of passion with D'Andres. Understandable... :)
Dio basically told Gussie, now that we are married, STFU. Like Michael in the Godfather, don't ask me about my business. The dicho was something like, silence is golden.
For once I found a bed scene between Gussie and Dio entertaining. The discussion over where they were going to live was written to perfection. Poor Gussie has no clue that El Rancho was where he wanted to end up in the first place (the better to see you [Cami]). She had to persuade him to do it, when she knew he wanted a place of their own.
I can't wait for Dio to start throwing his weight around as the man of the house. It'll be fun to watch him and Cami tangle over who has the first word AND the last word on how La Malquerida is going to be operated.
If Dan hasn't had his cover blown or been exposed, it's going to be oh so hard to defend her without it being obvious he's something more to her than a mere chauffeur.
Bring on the Games!!
This is the first ep I've seen in a few days, so missed all the bits of business SN is so good re: her injury.
I decide it's time to watch again, got through the Luz scenes OK, and the breaking Pablo's heart scene OK---though I held my breath, and then they show the avances and it looks like Al is going to try to rape Cam!!!
I was amused by El Diablo's reaction when his minion described how dirty Leoncerdo was. You almost hear him thinking about having his lair fumigated cuanto antes!
Dion is not going to be nice to Aggie now that he's married to her. And I hate Rocio(?) Pablo's mother. She is not nice either.
Vivi's account of the good, the bad and the ugly sure seems right on. A busy episode that sets the stage for many new developments.
I don't blame Luzma one bit for feeling betrayed by everyone's advice. They are correct, she needed to denounce her uncle and she does need counseling. But Leo's on the loose and she's wandering around vulnerable (depending on our Andres being everywhere he is needed at once). Given Piedad's growing strength, she may settle some scores, and not amicably. But in the meantime, Luzma's pain and fear is clear. Well played by this young actress.
I really like Camila's new style, with the long, plaid, belted shirts and leggings. Perfect for this convalescent stage. She looks pretty and natural. I hope I'm not offending any bull or ranch fans in saying that I have hated the steer necklace from the start. It certainly clashes with her new, lighter style, including the headbands.
I didn't expect Andres to spill the beans about his relationship with Dionisio. Where will that lead? Not in the direction of the real truth-telling we need, I don't think. I'll be interested in seeing his follow-up and her reaction tonight.
Rafa a little jealous of his brother! A sweet moment, though someone always has to lose in this kind of situation.
Question: I thought that Nana was telling Iago to not let Bratgirl's role in the rape stay hidden. He should tell Pablo the truth. Instead he did the opposite, urging Pablo to get out of Dodge. Was I out in left field in my sense of where Nana was going with her advice?
Poor Gussie. Her marriage is going downhill as quickly as Camila’s did. I thought she winced at Dio's "take my proper place in your daughter's ranch." She should wonder how he'll have time to run Camila's business when he's so busy with his own "investments." I’m going to enjoy seeing Camila and Mariano put his arrogant a$$ in its proper place.
Camila really is having a crap day, which is only bound to get worse.
I agree that Luzma's words to Pablo were wise and true, but I do think he was listening. He just wants to be there for her and tackle this together. I don't think he expects her to be exactly as she was before. He just doesn't want her to shut him out.
Oh, the other maid's name is Dorotea, not Juanita.
Too bad Luzma let Bratgirl play with her head. She should've taken Irene along with her to the meet. This horrible thing happened to her, but Pablo's very mature. He couldn't be more supportive of her than if he were already married to her.
Loved this especially:
"As reported earlier, it has been a long train wreck of a day and Camila is in her office with: a sore leg, a louse of a soon-to be-ex, a thief of a sister, a rapist on the loose with a missing gun and these are just the things she knows about."
Flaco had some observations, but he's kinda slammed with work, so I'm passing them along:
Iago: in his house they call him "pollo", his old nickname from Una Familia con Suerte.
Iago disrepects Natalia when he suddenly scares her like pounding on th desk and yelling "Hello" at her. He just met her and he's already treating her ths way. A sign of disrespect.
Hopefully Pablo just gives Luzma a little space without going away completely. Can't see him giving up his love for her. He's a good boy.
Unlike Alonso. I can't see a paternity question/divorce impedment being a problem here. Camila would go right to the police and have his butt put in jail asap. Divorce, FINAL. But it would be funny to see him fail in bed again.
Kelly
Add me to the list who hate Bratgirl and Rocio's plot. And the writers have given poor Luzma enough drama.
Mariano just told about Xi and the forgery. When will he tell her about the adultery?
I do not look forward to guess who just got married and Dio being a jerk around the ranch. I felt for Gussy b/c it looked like she realized, "I did this a third time."
Let's hope one rape is enough for this TN. Either Dan needs to beat Al down as he did malo tio or Al should have another failure.
I would love to see him fail at it.
There are other people who can testify to Alonssso's impotence. Like that hooker who oouldn't get away fast enough from him.
So is D'Andres telling Camila about working for Dionsio part of his strategy of revealing that he's Daniel? Because if it is it's a weird one. I imagine it going something like this: "I am working for Dio but it's all part of my plan to get revenge because I'm really Daniel Diaz Acosta. Dio hired Julian to kill me but my wife was killed instead. I was accused of the murder, went to jail, escaped to come find answers. I thought it was you (Camila) who didn't want me to get my inheritance, but then I realized it wasn't. I then fell in love with you" etc etc.......
Ilana's really getting on my nerves! And so is Dio with his little scolding Agustina about being a "metiche"

Thanks Mena for the greatrecap. As someone before me said, it was worth the wait".
Despite the tremendous amt of sympathy I have for Luzma, I'm ready for closure on that plot. I hope the plot with Bratgirl pouring salt in Luzma's wounds doesn't drag on too long.
I can't wait for tonight to find out more about that look of disbelief on Cami's face when D'Andres told her he works for Dio. Since he's collecting a paycheck from Cami, shouldn't he have told her about his other job before now?
Just finished and posted without a nod of appreciation.
Thank you for your well-worded recap. We are always so fortunate to get such polished literary gems from our recappers for our insatiable thirst for tn gratification.
Vivi--I meant to send you an LOL for your description of Maja's flirting with the ranch hands. They'd better bring back the dog. She's very much a part of Dan & Cam's love story, no?
