Amor Bravío #62 (Uni 57) Mon 11/12/12

Capitulo 62: The Night Has a Thousand Eyes

Viewer Discretion is Advised.  The author recommends that viewers make certain the door to the vomitorium is wide open and a path cleared toward it.

Lo del pasado

Alonssso gets back on the phone to Leoncerdo to send him after Andres once again. Leoncerdo appears to have the sense to be afraid of El Diablo (but lacks the knowledge of sophisticated phones).

Lo de nuevo

Hostal de Amanda:    Aaron updates Andres over the exchange with Francisco about the power of attorney. Andres decides to inform Becerrra about this. Aaron tells him he will await his instructions and expresses his sympathy over the mala suerte Andres has to have a father like Francisco. Andres has no illusions about all this. He decides to take advantage over the differences El Diablo and Hissadora are having and use that in their favour.

Ximeana's Room:   She calls Bruno to tell him she has his money.  She can't wait to get this over with, tossing the cell phone on the bed in disgust.

Viviana's Apartment:   She gets a silent harassing call which is probably Bruno, with or without orders from El Diablo.

Hostal de Amanda:   Andres reports the latest intrigue to Becerra who tells him that this POA isn't legal; the actual heir's presence is required. He tells Andres that Hissadora most likely found a corrupt lawyer to try to make this happen. They need to set a trap. Andres hangs up and asks Amanda to deliver a note to his sperm donor before Aaron comes down. She offers him paper and pen, he writes something, and hands the folded note to her. She takes him to Teresa's room for their meeting; the room is far from Francisco's.

Riverbank:   Luzma tells Camila she will give up the baby for adoption and she will return to school. She also wants to see the psychologist. Camila is pleased and tells her she will make the appointment for her. They hug, Luzma saying she always wanted a sister like Camila. [We think she should say a thing or two to Ximeana about this].

La Buenaventura, Pablo's Room: Pablo is packing a suitcase, outraged that Ileana is permitted to stay. Mariano enters and hears him out. Pablo is fed up with his mother's and Bratgirl Jr's interference in his life and how this wrecked his relationship with Luzma. Mariano tells him that some loves go smoothly and others have obstacles in their path and he and Luzma have obstacles. She was afraid for him.  If he goes away he won't have the chance to repair the damage. He needs to stay to heal Luzma with his love.

La Malquerida, Outside the Gate:   Irene tries to convince Luzma to give Tolentino another chance. She points out that Luzma will need protection from Leoncerdo and Tolentino wants to provide that.  She is not succeeding.

Iglesia:   Tolentino lights a candle to the Virgencita for a miracle about love. The padre tells him that St Anthony is the one for that, but Tolentino insists that la Virgencita will help him because of the difficulty of the situation. Padre Anselmo reminds him that one can't force these things.

Hostal, Teresa's Room:  Amanda has introduced Daniel to Teresa, who explains that this is not going to be an easy case.   Amanda states she believes in Daniel's innocence and leaves them alone to talk. Teresa tells them that justice is her passion, then takes out her notebook and tells Daniel to tell her everything from the beginning.

Night.

Cabaña:   To the sound of ominous music El Diablo sneaks up on Camila into the cabaña from behind while she works on her laptop. When she sees him she is not happy; she asks him to knock before entering in future because she doesn't like being startled by people coming in unannounced. He claims he didn't think it necessary (the presumptuous blackguard) but he concedes. She wanted to talk to him because she wanted him to advise her on getting a trustworthy chauffeur. She will be firing Andres. He asks why and she tells him it's over the assumption that occurred because of the incident with Alonssso.  She doesn't want that to stand in the way of the divorce.  He starts prying about whether she was interested in Rafael or Mariano and she tells him that she is interested in them... as friends. All she is interested in right now is getting her divorce as quickly as possible.

Café:  Bruno arrives to meet Ximeana, who is peeved that he kept her waiting for more than half an hour. He doesn't seem too disturbed at this; he would keep her waiting all night if he chose. She hands him the envelope of cash, tells him never to look for her again, and leaves. However, we know without any spoilers that she hasn't seen the last of him.

Cabaña:   El Diablo suggests she not terminate Andres. She is not to play Alonssso's game. All Alonssso wants is to drag this out to prolong her pain. She tells him that all she wants is to hand over the ranch to her cousin and leave it and its bad memories behind. Hitchcock music as  he tells her no, she shouldn't leave in defeat. He then moves in far too close for comfort suggesting that they talk about this when her cousin appears. She needs a man to protect her. And that this man is himself.  She steps back with folded arms and sits, telling him she is grateful, but that he knows perfectly well she does not like to depend on anyone. She turns to her computer, which is intended to be dismissive without being rude. However, he steps in pets her arm, telling her not to run away, they'll see what comes up. What Alonssso wants is to see her bankrupt, failed. She knows he's right about that and says so.  He pretends to accept her decision that he not be involved in the running of the ranch. Andres should stay; he's a loyal employee. She should use him as she wishes. She lets him know she will not be blackmailed by gossip. He seems pleased.

Restaurant in Metepec:    Francisco sits with Hissadora, who asks about his meeting with “Daniel”. They gloat over his pretense of being ill. However, Daniel isn't interested in seeing the lawyer for the POA. He will do things only on his own terms. Hissadora is not pleased.

Hostal, Aaron's Room:   Aaron updates Viviana and Rafael on what has just happened. Viviana is pleased that Aaron is back and tells him they've brought wine, bread, and cheese to share. As she looks at him it appears that Rafael is becoming a wee bit celoso.

La Malquerida, Courtyard:   El Diablo is outside near the fountain speaking to Omar on his cell phone about Andres' letter of recommendation. He wants him to visit the author the next day to find out all there is to know about Andres Duarte. If looks could kill there wouldn't be anything alive within a five-mile radius. He speaks to an imaginary Andres, saying that he hopes Camila was sincere because “If not, you are a dead man.”  [We flies on the wall are hoping that the alleged author is in Europe.]

Patio:   Luzma steps outside to the sound of crickets and a few guitar notes and whispers Pablo's name. Pobrecita. She follows the music.

Cabaña:  Andres arrives, Camila leaps into his arms, and tells him about El Diablo's visit. And that Alonssso thinks that Andres is a spy and El Diablo just thinks Alonssso is paranoid. Their love theme leads to the booty call, but as we hope they remember to lock the door we're also worried about the sheerness of the curtains.

Edge of the Woods:  Luzma sees Pablo sitting with his guitar. She thought he had gone to the US, but he explains he had gone to Zacatecas for an emergency and will not be going away to study. He doesn't want to leave her. Their love theme plays as she warns him he is in danger because of Leoncerdo. He reminds her that hers is the greater danger. He tells her about Ileana's involvement in their separation and he wants his family to know he will not put up with their protecting her. He doesn't know Ileana's motives (He must be lying) but will not leave Luzma. He has bigger cojones than most of the guys older than he is.

El Diablo's Lair:    Obviously El Diablo won't like his next bill from the liquor store as Leoncerdo has just consumed another half a bottle while having a flashback to his vile actions. Omar heads in to take the bottle, telling the pig that the boss doesn't like him drinking. Leoncerdo takes it back, saying “Let the boss tell me that” while thinking that Luzma, Piedad, Andres, and everyone will pay for the wrongs they had done to him. Omar takes the bottle and walks away with it.  [We are grateful to the writers for killing the urge for a late snack.]

Edge of the Woods:  Pablo tells Luzma they should leave and get married. She tells him she will have the baby and not keep it. He respects her feelings and doesn't want to lose her. She tells him she has to think. Some progress is made in that although she doesn't allow him to kiss her. Pobrecita.   He tells her life is nothing without her.  He is a sweet young man.

La Buenaventura, Dining Room:   The rest of the Albarráns are seated; Bratgirl is not present. Rocio mentions that Pablo took his guitar and went for a walk; he did not want to dine with them. Cayetano asks Refugio to bring something up to his room. Iago declines his dinner; he's not hungry. He tells his parents they should send Ileana back home. Rocio says they can't; Alberto and Felicia put her in their charge. Mariano also wants her gone. Cayetano says she will leave when he says so; she doesn't know what's going on with her parents. [Señor Albarrán, this little perra knows a lot more than you think she does.] Iago tells his parents that yes, she knows all about it. She is a hypocrite. Mariano makes it clear that he doesn't trust her. He wants Pablo there to help him run the ranch and to have Ileana there after what she did is an insult to him. Rocio still tries to defend the little whore but Mariano will not hear another word. Cayetano tells Mariano that if he doesn't want his help with the administration of the ranch he won't force it on him. He tells his sons that they are to treat Bratgirl gently until she leaves. Iago states in no uncertain terms that he wants nothing further to do with the little bit of basura. Mariano mentions that she created dissent between brothers. That is an act of treason; she went too far. It looks like Cayetano is listening to his sons.

Ileana's Room:   She is playing on her laptop when Refugio knocks. “Adelante” shouts the brat as she closes the computer. Refugio enters followed by a maid with a dinner tray.

Refugio:    Good evening, Señorita.  Señor Cayetano asked me to bring you dinner in your room.
Ileana (petulantly):    Get out of here! Get out! I don't want anything from you. (shoves maid out the door) Get out of here! Thanks to your busybody behavior they're all against me.
Refugio:    I'm sorry, but it wasn't my fault; it was yours. You spoke to Leoncio to prevent the wedding of Pablo and Luzma, not I.
Ileana:    Yes. You are a resentful servant who never again [???]. That gossip wouldn't have come out if you had kept your mouth shut.  (gestures vulgarly)
Refugio:    It gave me no pleasure to tell anyone what you did. But if I had remained silent that would have made me your accomplice, which I am not. The only thing I want is for my niños to be happy!
Ileana:    Do you think it would make Pablo happy to marry a pauper without class?
Refugio:    Of course, because Pablo deserves a woman's honest love. Like Luzma, and not an opportunist like you. (Ileana raises her arm to hit her, but she is unflappable).  What?
Ileana:    Damned servant! You're going to regret everything you said and did to me. I swear you will pay!
Refugio (completely unafraid):    Excuse me,
Señorita. Good night. (walks past her with dignity and exits. Bratgirl closes and locks the door with her usual petulant expression.)

Near full moon and the next day as we hear Don Vicente sing.

Stables:   Andres leads the white horse to the side, then shares a kiss with Camila. They go off by the rosebushes and he tells her that today he is sure they can be rid of all the obstacles that prevent their being together. Love talk over the sounds of “Divina tú” so we now have a terrible sense of foreboding. Besos.

Metepec, Dishonest Lawyer's Office:  Hissadora tells him that Daniel can't come and asks for the paperwork so she can take it to him. He first tells her that is not possible but she tells him it is and she will make it worth his while. He tells her he will get it for her. She asks for his bill so she can pay him. He will hand her no proof of this transaction and informs her she is never to contact him again. That would be his best payment. Hitchcock music as he rises from his desk and exits to the next room. She is amused at his disquietude.

Osvaldo Becerra's Office:  Daniel gives him the letter written by Don Daniel. The floodlight goes on as he realizes that this is why Don Daniel changed his will. They agree that Camila needs to know right away, so Becerra calls her. He tells her it's to reschedule their canceled appointment and they agree to meet at 6:30. He hangs up and says to Daniel “Today she will know why her uncle left the ranch to you and not her.”

Somehow we don't think so.

Bullring:   Camila and Mariano greet each other and he tells her that his daughter has come to live with him. She feels foolish for not knowing he was married, but he explains that his wife died of cancer six years ago and their daughter had lived with his mother-in-law since. He tells her that Ana wants to become a veterinarian like her. She can't wait to meet her. She tells him that one way or the other she will soon have her divorce. He tells her that he has no doubt she will soon be a free woman who is free to love and direct her own life again. He is obviously looking forward to that and she doesn't seem to realize that he is interested in her that way.

La Buenaventura, Stables:   When she approaches Iago, Bratgirl proves she could actually recoup the family fortune by bottling and selling her chutzpah.

Ileana:    I thought you were going to defend me but you are good for nothing.
Iago:    You have some nerve saying that because you are a traitor. You didn't tell me what your plans were. Don't expect me to help you.
Ileana:    Yes, I expect it. You don't know how disappointed I am in you.
Iago:    In the first place it was you who opened your mouth. You were telling me the details, not I you. Everyone trusts Refugio and you are the guilty one.
Ileana (incredulous):    Why me?
Iago:    For the arrogant attitude you took with our Nana. If you had treated her with affection and respect, probably nobody would know. You are the only one responsible for what's happened. Now you will have to take the consequences. Alone.
Ileana:    That's how I feel.  Alone.  Really alone.
Iago:    Yes.  Pablo will never want you and soon you will be out of our lives.

Bullring:    Mariano takes this opportunity to tell Camila about Alonssso's embezzlement. She reacts with an ironic smile and says she isn't really surprised. He then tells her about Alonssso and Ximeana.

Avances

Camila punches out Ximeana while El Diablo plots against Andres.

Note:  From this point on when the author has made repeated unsuccessful attempts to decipher a phrase it will have [???] as a placeholder for someone else to fill in the blank.

Fabulous Urban!

Oh man, there are so many anvils dangling right now. Leo AND Dio are after D'Andres. Yikes! Bacerra has the letter and wants to show it to Cami. Will he get the chance to? Something bacd is bound to happen.

I'm so glad Cami now knows the truth about Xi and Al. Can't wait to see her punch Xi tomorrow.

So, did D'An and Cam start out in the cabin, and finish out the night out on the ranch somewhere? Cami seemed to think they would be back before the sun rose. Yes, all that talk of being sure that their love will make it afterall was some primo anvil baiting. They were very cute together though. I particularly liked how Cami leapt on to Dan like a monkey and then he easy walked carrying her on his hip. What a man! But I was nervous they would get caught in the cabin and then in the rose bushes. These two are really pushing their luck.

Good developments-- Luzma letting down her guard a bit with Pablo; Rafa getting jelous about Vivi; Iliana being told off by everyone; Teresa starting the work on Dan's case; and of course the revelations about Al's fraud and Xi's betrayal.

Sorry for all the typos...it's late and I've been recapping. :)

Thanks for the recap UA. This was quite an exciting episode!

As Vivi noted anvils are looming large especially over poor Dan. I'm hoping poor Becerra does survive; he has so much info he needs to share w/the rest of team Dan.

I can't wait to see Cam confront Xi!

At least one of those anvils is going to fall tomorrow. I am not looking forward to Camila being angry with Daniel for fifteen or more episodes.

I will love watching her punch out that mosquita muerta of a sister, though.

Hmm. This recap is great. I dosed and from the comments, I better go back and watch the DVR version or at least what I missed. Seems like I missed the good parts, the sex and violence.

I can stand Cami being mad at Daniel for a few episodes but after last night's creepy Dio touch, I hope we don't watch Cami be a bonehead and let Dio get close, although it looked like we might get to watch Cami turn to her neighbor.

I wonder who is going to get Bruno.

CindyL

Thank you UA for such a witty and eloquent recap.
I am looking forward to Camila confronting Ximena about her relationship with Alonso.
I loved the reference to Luzma a being the sister that Camila should have had.
This was a juicy episode to recap.

Thank you, UA. A masterful job. I'm still giggling at a few of your choice lines, including the path to the vomitorium reference!

I want to thank Jardinera and Mena, also. I couldn't see Amor Bravio while at my mother's over the weekend or respond to this blog -- but I did read it and was able to catch up and in style. What a great service our recappers provide!

Yes, anvils galore, including one for Bacerra, it seems, before the 6:30 appointment.

Dio gets more sinister in every scene. His tough - ICK.

What a shame that Camila can't count on anything but betrayal from Ximena. A nice moment between them that will add up to nothing good, and tonight, the confrontation.

Great moment with Leo and the phone that you picked up on, UA.

We often get distracted by age issues on the TNs and in this case it's Mariano. I was thinking how much Mariano and Pablo resemble each other and could have been cast as father and son. The shared black vest look helps. Anyway, I looked up ages and Rene is 50 and pretty much looks it IMHO, though I am assuming that he's meant to be 40 here; Eddy Villard is in his early 20s and looks it and is meant to be about that age. Some beanie tightening needed here to see them as brothers. I'm a Rene fan, but find him to be more believable now in roles like he had in PVAA, where he was cast as a mature man.

Rene Strickler needs just a little nip/tuck and to not appear unshaven. Disguising the grey in a beard is harder than the head hair.

As an aside, I once had a Cuban friend who had a half brother 30 years older than himself. Their dad knocked up a maid at the age of 15, which apparently was standard expected behavior for sons of wealthy parents. When the friend was 30 his half-brother became a grandfather. I said "Do you realize that makes you a great-uncle?" He paused and said "I really have to think about that!"

Cayetano looks old enough to now be on his second marriage, but that would be far less important to the story than the eventual confirmation that he is not the bio-dad of Pablo.

The phone thing struck me as funny because Leoncerdo is so oblivious to so much. Illiteracy does that just as much as alcohol.

Thanks UA. Loved:
-"obviously El Diablo won't like his next bill from the liquor store"
-"we are grateful to the writers for killing the urge for a late snack" (Dang, I should have watched this last night instead of eating poptarts)
-your descriptions of Bratgirl as perra and basura
-"Somehow we don't think so" really made me LOL.

Off to watch assuming Comcast is my friend today.

I thought Leo and the phone was funny too. If only he weren't a murderer and rapist, I would see him as the comic relief.

There's a big age difference between me and my sister too, and my nephew is more like my brother (like Pablo and Ana). But it is strange to see Rene playing a big bro to a 20-something, after just seeing him play the dad to a 20-something girl in PVAA. I don't mind it though. He and Eddy do look like they could be related. Perhaps in another tn they can play father and son.

Cindy- I don't think there's any danger of Cami turning to Dio for comfort after Dan is revealed. Mariano, yes. She can't even stand Dio touching her. I did like how she played Dio with that whole ruse about firing Andres. I laughed when she recounted it to D'Andres and said something like, where would they ever get the crazy idea that you and I are lovers?

Guess "lover boy" Dionisio was unable to pick up the vibe that he was making Camila's skin crawl. (Mine too) Camila, put a damn lock on your door.

Cat and mouse continues. I, too, think something will happen to Daniel Sr's letter once the bad guys somehow get wind of this.

Great recap! Thanks.

What's interesting in this series is that both Bratgirls (Ximeana and Ileana) are whores at heart: Not making their own money and expecting men to foot the bill and fund their whims. I'd love to know more about Alberto and Felicia's marriage to see how that made Ileana the way she is.

Love how Refugio didn't let Ileana intimidate her. She must have seen it all and long before this.

I loved Refugio standing up to Iliana too, and giving her that defiant look when Iliana made to slap her. Rocio and Caytano would have thrown her out on her bratty butt, and in her pjs, in a NY minute had she slapped Nana. Stupid girl needs to change her strategy.

Best moments of the show:
-Luzma letting her guard down a tiny bit more with Pablo.
-Rafa's jealous look
-Becerra making an appt. with Camila (it's been nice knowing you, Becerra)

Oh boy! Now that Camila knows about Alonso and Ximena, she will be really furious. Can't wait for tonight's episode cuz I saw a preview last night where she punches Ximena in the face.

I bet Luzma is furious at Ileana by now, after what Pablo told her about her calling Leoncio and causing her rape by the sick pervert.

Loved how Refugio stood up against the bitch Ileana knowing how she doesn't intimidate her. I thought Refugio was gonna get slapped. anyone. Cayetano seems to be having a change of heart, but Rocio remains the same.

Oh I know! Looking forward to the biotch slap!

Are those crocheted flower headbands of Camila's in style now? Emilia could sell them in TalMart.

Worried that Tolentino keeps getting mentioned as a partner for Luz. I don't want to see her go with him in a misguided attempt to protect Pablo.

Would Rocio be on Team Bratgirl, if she knew how BG was treating Nana? If BG went so far as to slap her? Just wondering.

So glad to see in the previews that it wasn't a bitch slap Cam gives Xi, but a full on punch.

Nanette

UA--Masterful job. It was a fun episode, from drama to comic-relief. Besides Leo's little confusion over the phone, I consider Bratgirl comic relief--she just can't get no respect from any of those boys--now add Refugio. Was anyone able to read what her t-shirt said?

Vivi--I wondered, too, where Cam & Dan spent the night. He carried her into the bedroom, but they appear next morning with one horse and the same clothes they went to bed in. Surely it wasn't the caballerizas, that's Xi's domain. Maybe they had another marshmallow roast on the back 40.

Dan sure is getting his hopes up that this charade is going to be over soon and Cami will forgive him with another kiss and a reminder that she promised never to doubt his love. Poor sap.

I think it will be Dio finding out that Andres' letter of recommendation that Padre Baldy got him will be his undoing. I'm holding a minor hope that it happens AFTER Dan reveals himself to Cami.

Beyond the sister-punch, I want to see what Cami does about the fake receipts for what Alonslow stole. If he can manage a few tears and a sob story the way Xi did, he gets off scott free.

I hate Bruno. I hate the name Bruno. Luckily there's always a Bruno to hate in some tn.
Anita

Anita: "I hate Bruno. I hate the name Bruno. Luckily there's always a Bruno to hate in some tn." Cracked me up. I think this is my first Bruno, though. Looking forward to many more.

Anita- I vote for another marshmallow roast on the back 40. Seems that's where they were coming from with their lone horse. Perhaps they decided those curtains in the bedroom were too sheer after all?

I would be so scared to do "it" on the back 40, or on any beach. You see it in movies all the time and I know that's where Rob Lowe lost his virginity (this I know as it was with me), but it seems so unsafe and sandy and itchy.

LOL RlaO!!!! I hope they have some blankets and sleeping bags stashed out the somewhere.

Every time I see those two sneaking kisses, I want to smack them. They are just asking to be caught.

Great job UA and a great episode. So much happened.

So the ______hombre_______soy yo was

Tu necesitas un hombre que defenderte, y ese hombre soy yo. See? He just wants to defend her and her stuff.

I think Becerra has a huge anvil over his head too. He knows way too much. But since this TN isn't following the usual rules, maybe he will be saved.

I'm glad that Mariano told Cam about Xi and Al. I said it at the time that I hoped he would tell her. That punch in the preview looked great. Not a slap like usual, but a close fisted punch.

The POA is a bit confusing to me, not sure how that will work out. If Aaron signs it, he's obviously not Dan, and therefore it won't hold up in court. So Isa and Dad are out of luck there.

Why are some of you expecting Cam to be mad at Dan for the next few episodes? Is it because you think he's going to tell her who he is soon? Man, I hope so. This secret is killing me.

Rosemary, Rob Lowe lost his virginity with you? Were you the woman in that famous video that made the rounds?

Anita, lol about the name Bruno. I couldn't agree with you more. Did you catch that creepy smile he made after Xi left and he looked at the envelop?

Camila and Mariano go on about "I hate lies" and Daniel being incognito is a lie. That's what she'll be angry about, DNA notwithstanding.

I don't find Bratgirl amusing. She is a Gala in the making. If Rocio knew how she treated Refugio I'm not sure she wouldn't think of an excuse for her. She is so determined to demonize Camila and anyone associated with her she will put blinders on about that brat.

UA - fine recap. Thanks for the dialogue on Refugio standing down Illeana, my favorite scene.

Illeana's got to be desperate now. She doesn't have a ghost of a chance at Pablo or Yago. I hope this doesn't go the drug'em-and-jump-his-bones route.

UA--it was all in fun. No, there's nothing to like about Bratgirl and her antics (and nascent cruelty). I just like the way she doesn't get her way--at all. Last night she managed to scare the horses!

I'm with you all on doing 'it' in a public place. It would be difficult for me to get my mind in the right place when I'm worried that someone will see me. Which reminds me of the story a while back where 2 people were going at it on an outside table at a restaurant. And when the manager told them to stop, the guy said that he couldn't because he wasn't done, lol. True story.

bratgirls t-shirt may have only said "BLAAAAAAA"or something like that. the figure on it is a famous one, though i'm not sure where or why. i think of the lil monster as a brownie with teeth. he chases kittens. on the t-shirt it seemed like a pirated version, where the monster wore glasses. anyway, probably not a helpful answer.

UA great job and thanks for summarizing! caray's contributors are my heroes (and heroines!)

-mai tai

Cathyx- you came very close to knowing what _____________ el ____________ hombre said. Good ear!

That is funny about the outside table, and it's true? Lol

Ok, Rosemary, now answer my question about Rob Lowe.

Yes, I __________ Rob Lowe.

j/k

Actually, I got his virginity losing story in his autobiography.

Thanks UA - Very interesting developments well explained as usual.

Vivi- The furry little bracelet I keep talking about is the very one you were describing - leather with metal grommets. If you see it with HD, it has animal fur on it. The fur is sleek - likely cow hide - and not fluffy like large cat fur on jackets. It reminds me of the Howdy Doody vest or something like that..

Mena- Well, it matches her bull's skull neclace. :)
