Amores Verdaderos #52 Tue 1/22/13 Crying, Lunacy, Insane Jealousy, and Stupidity

Amores Verdaderos, Cap 52, 1-22-13—Crying, Lunacy, Insane Jealousy, and Stupidity (or in other words, just another day in the Amores Verdaderos universe).

Some preview screencaps. RECAP IS UP AND FINISHED!

Big Angel checking Miss Victoria's ribs for damage. But it looks sooooo bad.

Big Angel cries and prays for guidance. He doesn't want to do anything bad!

Salsa-Dude wants to take Betty, dad and hijo out for dinner. He's doing his best to have amnesia about the kidnapping and blackmail attempts in the past.

Our anorexic bruja has brought over some snotty blonde guy to make the Little Gorilla jealous.

And it's working.

EVENTS MAY NOT BE LISTED IN ORDER! SCENES MAY BE CONDENSED! Please forgive errors and don't hesitate to correct me!

Big Angel and Vicki out in the beautiful country. Vicki falls off her horse and is unconscious. Big Angel is beside himself with worry. But Vicki soon regains consciousness. It's her arm that is hurt. He will have to carry her back to the hacienda.

Fetching backlighting on Big Angel and Vicki as he assesses the damage.

Jean Marie gives Hairy Loser Nelson his breakfast. Spins some yarn about how he wanted to get out and about, in order to cover for an AWOL Polita. Hairy Loser Nelson gets a fakey phone call from Slutty Ho Kendra, who is faking a "suicide," complete with smeared mascara. She weakly says she's saying goodbye, and she'll leave this world loving him. Oh gag. Hairy Loser Nelson immediately calls Salsa Dude to say they've got to go to Kendra's.

Faking suicide, a time-honored tactic of controlling hos.

Thomasina visits a moping Nikki in her bedroom. Gives Nikki a special vitamin-enhanced shake (prescribed by nutritionist). As soon as Thomasina leaves, Nikki puts the shake aside—she don't need no vitamins or calories! She then comes up with a nefarious plan to help get her out of her doldrums regarding the delectable and tempting Little Gorilla. She calls someone named "Johnny."

Back in the kitchen, Jean Marie is chastising Polita for getting up so late. She is over the moon because she "slept in the bed" of Guzmancito. Oh man it sounds so bad when she puts it like that. Guzmancito is shoveling down his breakfast because he anticipates that Nikki the bruja will want to go out soon. Thomasina tells him no, the bruja is staying in. This gives Polita an opportunity to mack adorably on Guzmacito. He good-heartedly rebuffs her. Jean Marie is impactado at the thought that she and Little Gorilla slept together last night. It's not really like that, of course.

Give us a kiss, you adorable Little Gorilla!

Big Angel brings back (in his arms) Miss Victoria to the ranch. Tells the staff to call a doctor!

Hairy Useless Nelson and Salsa-Dude bribe a building maintenance guy to get into Kendra's apartment. there she is artfully placed on her couch in the classic "suicide pose." Really, it would make a good painting if you dressed her in something a little less tacky. Hairy Useless Nelson is so gutless and useless that he can't even touch his so-called loving mistress. He orders Salsa-Dude to "inspect" her. (You can see the disgust on Salsa-Dude's face in response to Hairy Useless Nelson's cowardice and selfishness.) Salsa-Dude says she's dead! Uh oh! This is BAD for Hairy Useless Nelson! Because of course it's all about him! Let's not for a moment think with sadness about the loss of a young woman. (Well, we know it would be not much of a loss, but he doesn't!)

Artfully dead.

Salsa-Dude looks genuinely upset at a death. Unlike Useless Hairy Nelson, who is just worried about covering his own ass.

Back at the ranch: Big Angel is massaging the lame arm of Victoria. The doctor said she'll be okay but she needs to take it easy and rest. They have this sweet (but seriously, inappropriate) conversation about how they are friends, can count on each other, etc. Miss Victoria says that Big Angel's been like her guardian angel. It's all very platonic and sweet and non-sexual (at least not overtly so), but somehow still inappropriate nonetheless.

The peak of inappropriateness comes when Miss Victoria gives Big Angel a crucifix that her grandfather gave her. He doesn't want it at first, but she insists. She even personally puts it around his neck. This is going to cause trouble down the road! Viewerville sees this, but our clueless platonic couple does not.

Wholly inappropriate.
So, so, so inappropriate, and yet weirdly innocent at the same time.

Back with Kendra The Dead and our Gutless Lover. Of course Useless Nelson is all "This can't be happening to me" about her death. Salsa-Dude says they have to call the police now. You can tell Nelson doesn't want to do that. He feels her neck. There is a pulse! He yells at Salsa-Dude who is all "No puede ser!" because he didn't feel a pulse before. Useless Hairy Nelson says they have to get her to a clinic, but wait, let's first cover her face so there is no scandal! It's all about him, don't you know! LOL. The "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" look on Salsa-Dude's face when Useless Hairy Nelson covers her face says it all.

Salsero's "Que que what?" look at Nelson's going to the time and trouble to cover her face before rushing her to the hospital.

Polita is singing in joy as she dusts and cleans the foyer. Thomasina chastises her for making a racket but our Polita is too happy to care. Then a sulky, smug blonde young man arrives, to see Nikki. He wants to go straight to her bedroom. Ever alert-Guzmancito wants to know what for. Smug Young Man (aka "Johnny") says what's it to you. He goes to Nikki's room while Guzmancito fumes and Polita notices.

Apparently Johnny has no pastimes or gainful employment because he's got time to drop everything in the middle of the day to play some stupid game with Nikki, who says she'll tell him what she's got in mind, and "it'll be really fun." Guzmancito is now hovering outside her door, furious and trying to contain his jealousy.

We return to the country, where a fetching plaid-clad Big Angel has come to church to pray and pour out his soul. He asks for guidance and help. Why, since he loves his wife and knows that it's all "till death do us part," is he having these feelings for Miss Vicki? He doesn't want this! Why why why? He's really in torment and despair.

Why oh why?

At Pau-whiner's apartment, Christina is angry-dusting and yelling at Lily because Lily is willing to listen to Big Angel and give him the benefit of the doubt. Christina demands that Lily take her side and also wants Lily to quit her dream job at the Balvanera estate. After much drama and screaming, a poor beaten down Lily says okay, she'll quit and look for a new job! After she's left, Pau-whiner says she feels bad for telling Christina everything. Christina says it's okay, because she needed to know.

Making a big angry scene, as usual.

Back at the church, the priest comes to see Big Angel. They must have known each other from when Big Angel lived in the country. Big Angel starts to unload all his troubles. It takes a while to squeeze it all out. First Big Angel says he's now a bodyguard! Who would have guessed! He explains to the priest that his employer, Vicki, is a kind-hearted woman and he has no complaints. "Are things going well with you and Christina?" the priest asks. Well, no. "Did you do something bad?" Big Angel is horrified, "No, of course not!" he swears.

Seeking spiritual guidance.

It all comes out that it's because Miss Victoria is such a good, generous and kind woman that there are troubles. Big Angel is well aware that Christina is his wife, he knows about the 'til death do us part" thing, and he loves his wife, and wants to do the right thing. He says that Miss Victoria has been devoted to her husband, but even so, things have happened that have made Christina jealous and now she wants to separate. The priest says that Big Angel will have to find a way to reason with Christina then.

But Big Angel has more to share. He needs to know how to control his feelings, which he doesn't understand. He doesn't want to feel all fluttery and breathless when he's around Vicki (seriously, he does describe it somewhat like that). He feels like he wants to give her a big hug when she laughs or cries. He feels all "shivery" when he's around her, and then he's on fire! Oh man, that sounds bad!

In between this bombshell of a confession to the priest, we see Miss Vicki writing in her laptop some heartfelt things that we know are relating to her thing with Big Angel.

And we see Salsa-Dude, all animated and full of bright, beautiful white smiles, calling up Betty and asking her for dinner. She at first wants to beg off, but he wants to invite her pop and her son too! She smiles and gives him the phone number so he can call her father.

Smiling Betty.

Salsa-Dude, being gentlemanly and asking to call her father so they can all go to dinner.

The priest gives Big Angel good advice about trusting God, and that his actions are important. (Meaning, I think, that what you feel inside is one thing, but what you do is another—in other words, at least you can not act on what you may be tempted by or are thinking of.) Then there is the obligatory thing about the flesh being weak, and not succumbing to temptation. Big Angel suspects that this is not a fleeting feeling that he has. (This sounds so bad!)

The priest is actually helpful in many ways, except he leaves out one important bit of advice—QUIT YER JOB, BIG ANGEL!!! Come on! Was I the only one yelling that at the screen?  Dude. Seriously. You're getting the adolescent flutters around this lady, which you know is wrong and you want to keep being faithful to your wife. The best thing to do is get away from that situation, and away from temptation. And post haste!

Useless Hairy Nelson visits the Kendra-ho in the hospital. Blah blah don't do that again, blah blah I love you so much I'm willing to share you. The doctor takes Hairy Useless Nelson aside and says that she'll try it again so don't upset her. This puts emotional blackmail on Hairy Useless so he can't really break up with her now! He goes to her and makes her promise not to try it again. She promises, all pale and wan in her hospital bed.

Salsa-Dude chides her when Nelson is out of the room. She says, "Well what was I to do? You wouldn't help me!" She seems satisfied that things are back on track.

Now we see Nikki's Campaign to Torment Guzmancito. Laughs of seemingly orgasmic ecstasy are coming from her room. "More more! There there!" and lines like that. Poor Little Gorilla can't take it any more. He paces right outside her door, tormented and in despair. Finally, one too many incriminating sounds from the room forces him to bang on the door.

It turns out that Nikki and the blonde, pouty Johnny were playing the children's game Pick up Sticks, and the seemingly sexual comments were just her talking about which sticks to pick up. Of course, she has coached Johnny to make it "sound" sexual, and when Guzmancito bangs on the door, she is in delight. She musses up her hair and Johnny's, and has him unbutton his shirt.

Johnny answers the door and sullenly slouches against the door frame. He tells Guzmancito that he and Nikki are occupied, and that if Guzmancito can't figure out how, he can elaborate further. Oh man, this looks so bad! Guzmancito is beside himself with jealousy. Just how Nikki had planned it.

Tormenting the Little Gorilla.

Johnny makes it look like he and Nikki were doing the nasty. But all they were doing was a children's game of pick-up sticks.

Lily is in the greenhouse, telling Polita that she's gonna have to quit. Polita is sorry about that. Polita then trills on about how she spent the night in Little Gorilla's bed. Which of course sounds so bad. Lily feigns happiness for Polita, while fighting back tears.

Back in Nikki's room, Johnny wants to know what the whole deal is with tormenting this bodyguard, and how come, since he (Johnny) likes her for real, that they have to pretend at being romantic, when he'd be more than happy to make it genuine? Nikki explains that she's already in love (she doesn't name whom) and says that she wants to bother the bodyguard because he's a pain in the neck. Then she rushes Johnny out the door, making sure he's properly disheveled. They put on a big romantic scene in front of the Little Gorilla, who is again seething with jealousy. She pretends she didn't see him standing there, and goes over to him, fusses over him, says he's been doing such a good job watching over for her. He silently fumes. She leaves to supposedly give Johnny a "hot farewell" as he goes to his car. After they've gone, Guzmancito says to himself that if she wanted to ruin his day, she succeeded!

More tormenting of the Little Gorilla.

Later, Guzmancito chastises Nikki for having that guy in her room. "Well at least I have good taste!" Nikki fires back, and then proceeds to slam on poor Polita (who overhears). Polita is a "meatball" and she's ignorant—can barely read or write! This really offends Guzmancito. Polita comes up, tears in her eyes, and says she's not all the things Nikki says and to respect her! Polita then runs off, humiliated.

Adorable Polita is the target of Nikki's cruelty.

Guzmancito is really pissed now. He says, "Did you enjoy that? Humiliating people?"

This starts our two dysfunctional would-be lovers to argue heatedly. He tells her that even though she's rich and from a good family, she has no manners. Why does she treat her employees that way? He wants her to go apologize to Polita. He grabs her arm to drag her to do it. She jerks back, says don't touch her, and tells him to shut up! He yells that she's so badly raised, and so immature. She replies that he doesn't know anything about her. More fighting. She yells at him to shut up.

Telling her like it is.

She doesn't want to hear it!

The insults and the "shut ups!" continue for a while. Finally she says, "Shut up or I will shut you up!" He doesn't shut up. So she shuts him up with a hot flaming beso.

He enthusiastically responds to her "shut up" kiss.

And that is how we end our episode!

AVANCES: It looks like Victoria doesn't want a certain Gutless, Hairy Husband entering her room, and so orders her bodyguard to make sure that doesn't happen. Said bodyguard gets said Gutless, Hairy Husband in a head-lock. MUST SEE TV!!!

Great teasers! I know you'll rock the recap Casbah. Can't wait to read it!

Elvira - Great screen caps! It was a wild ride last night, with our Tontos Verdaderos.

Finally, our JA comes to terms with his feelings for Vikki! (but all that bawling was a little much)

Too bad that idiot priest didn't say, "Dude, remove thyself from further temptation and get a different job."
Oh, wait, then we'd have no telenovela story.

Elvira, screen shots are excellent.

Although I'm rooting for his redemption, "Salsa-Dude...doing his best to have amnesia about the kidnapping and blackmail attempts in the past" was spot on. He has a lot to atone for.

I am looking forward to the recap, particularly to hear what JA was in hysterics about.

"But it looks sooooo bad" and
"He doesn't want to do anything bad" made me smile. This is going to be fabulous. I am really looking forward to hearing what exactly JA was in hysterics about. Guilt and worry I'm sure. I guess the cross was simply too much to bear and he reached his breaking point.

Diana

Elvira - Thanks. Great photos and captions.

At last, Angel leaves denial. It was so sad. For pete's sake, don't listen to the priest.

Poor Cris. Hope she gets to her mom in the country real soon. She needs a mother's TLC and some therapy. Plus, the last thing she needs to see is that Vickie has branded Angel with the necklace.

Niecie - OMG yes! That cross. Baaad mistake, yet again. Idiot Vikki does not think ahead that it might trigger another hissy fit from Cristina. Hel-lo?!?

Elvira, can't wait for your recap.

Why couldn't JA tell Vicki that her giving him the cross would upset his wife. And Vicki knows that Cris is very jealous. But, then as Doris mentioned, we'd have no TN.

And as for that Bruja, I don't know exactly how badly she spoke of Polita, I know it was bad, and she didn't even care that she heard. I don't want him to end up with her. I won't ever like her for Guzman.

Ann-NYC
PS - Loved the screen caps -- told the whole story!

Awww, delicious pictures! And I laughed out loud at the "Salsa-Dude wants to take Betty, dad and hijo out for dinner. He's doing his best to have amnesia about the kidnapping and blackmail attempts in the past." line.

Elvira~~~~excellent screencaps and can't wait to read your take on what happened last night.

Ann NYC~~~ Without giving too much away, Nikki called Polita the same thing she called her the night before. As Neice said yesterday, if Nikki really thinks that Guzmi likes Polita that way, then Nikki ought to put some meat on her bones. I don't like the way that Nikki always insults Polita, especially about her weight.

I had to laugh when Salsero declared Kendra "dead" when we viewers could see her chest heaving from breathing. Most likely it was wishful thinking on Salsero's end.

Elvira---Need you sooo much. Um, your recap that is. For me, there were a lot of what's--how's--and why's last night. I can't wait.

Ann-NYC---A new name. I always like to read new commentators.

Madelaine---Someone needs to wake up Polita about her weight problem,
it's not healthy. I agree, Brat could be a bit nicer though.

JA---Are you really pushing for a DIVORCE? Wearing the "OTHER WOMAN"S" necklace---really???

Brat Nikki really knows how to take it to her Guzmancito. She had me laughing.
the gringo

Ab Fab screenshots, Elvira! Thanks (and the English captions are a hoot! Are they always that bad?)

I'm going to hide behind Big Angel and Guzmán to say this because I know some of you Fans of Cristina will be hurling epithetazos at me but ...

... I think the "writers" are going to a lot of trouble to make us see Cristina and Leonardo as two sides of a bad moneda:

Pathological jealousy and possessiveness that reduces one's partner to personal property? Check.

Inappropriate display of temper in a manner that humiliates partner? Check.

Poisoning offspring against partner, trying to get said offspring to take sides? Check.

Physical acting out? Check. (The only reason Big Angel hasn't ended up in some ER is because he IS Big Angel.)

NovelaMaven - You make some good points, but:

- Cris is now trying to get away from Angel, not force him to stay with her

- Though she does jump to conclusions, she doesn't lie

Elvira,

Love the screen shots - did not like what transpired last night with the exception of Salsero trying to be the perfect, considerate boyfriend - intriguing and funny to watch.

Gringo - Be careful with your wording; it could get you in trouble again. Very amusing ..."need you soo much."

Ann-NYC - Always enjoyed your comments back in the LVO days.

Agree with everyone about Vicky's gift - here again ..from one Flake to another Flake...nothing like putting salt on a wound.

NovelaMaven - Are you the originator of this blog?

Enjoyed all comments.

NovelaMaven - some good points in the Leo/Cris comparison, HOWEVER:

From Cristina's point of view (without the rants and raves for a moment), Angel and Vicki have given the appearance of something going on: (1) the day she "fell" in the pool and he walks in with her in his arms and they're both laughing; (2) the night he stands her up for dinner and doesn't call, then comes home rarin' for sex and afterwards she finds out he was in the hotel room with the boss lady; (3) the sudden overnight trip where he comes back with a neckbrace; (4) the night the other woman slept in her bed; and now to add insult to injury, he'll come back from the hacienda wearing Victoria's cross and looking sheepish (because let's face it, JA does not have a poker face)! ALL of these incidents were completely innocent, but how would they look to an insanely jealous wife?

On the other hand, Leo has NOT ONCE seen Beatrice with another man nor has she spoken to another man in his presence. That's all about to change, though, because Salsero is in the picture. And although Bea is innocently trying to keep things "just friends" right now, Leo will go ballistic, especially when he finds out she has dared to bring that man in contact with his son! Leo is a typical control-at-all-costs abusing bully with the scary "if I can't have her no one can" mentality. I'm really afraid for her.

Yes, Leo and Cris have some basic similarities in their actions, but are worlds apart in the reasons for their reactions.

Gringo~~~~~~ I just hate the insults thrown at heavy people, without knowing the reason why the person is heavy. I recap another TN, Por Ella Soy Eva, and we had a similar character who I loved ,that was killed off cause she had medical problems due to her weight and was so upset by something her husband and lover did, and the insults that followed that she had a heart attack and died. We were all pithed over there that they had done that. That being said, I will share something personal. As a formerly heavy person, I can just imagine what people said about me behind my back. It took a medical emergency to wake me up too. So all I'm saying is I hate the insults and wish sometimes that TN writers would explore the weight issue from the other spectrum too, like losing weight, since they do bulima story lines, jus' sayin'.

The weight issue was explored in Llena de Amor (which was a really good show). The protagonista started out overweight and the bitchy villain types insulted her constantly and colorfully. It was hard to listen to but did serve to quickly establish how shallow and nasty they were. The storyline got into the issues of why she overate and the health problems she was more likely to have. Eventually she decided to change and they showed the struggle of that process.

Personally, and as someone who used to weigh significantly more than I do now, I don't think it is at all helpful for people to comment on other people's weight. They know how big they are. They've heard about the health risks. If they haven't done something about it, there's a reason, and being insulted or having people condescendingly tell them they should lose weight probably isn't going to do the trick.

I still can't hate Nikki, though. She knows exactly how to provoke Guzmancito and it's entertaining. They both seem to get off on the childish games. Could she have picked a less appealing slimebag to play pick-up sticks with, though?

Anxiously awaiting the recap...love the pictures.

Julia, darn I missed that one. I will have to find it and watch it to see what they did, it sounds really interesting.

I know Nikki is a brat but, for me, the sparks between her and Guzman are way hotter than the chemistry between JA and Vic. I wish the younger couple would get more screen time. Unlike Vic and JA, though, Nik and Guzman have horrific communication. They discuss NOTHING. Why on earth wouldn't Guzman explain to her (and us) about his marriage? Why wouldn't Nikki ask him QTH is going on w him and Polita when she sees her in his bed?

I also wish Nikki could hang on to SOME of her emotional maturity she has gained throughout the series. After Guzmans shooting she was very sweet...for five minutes. It's like she has a default setting of "brat" that she goes to after every sweet moment w Guzman.

Hi NM! Love your insightful comments!

Thanks, Elvira, for the great pics!

Katy

Sorry it's taken me so long, amigos y amigas! It's been one of those days. I've got some ice tea and am raring to go!

On the weight issue: Yes, this is something I've struggled with, off and on, and I too hate to see the insults thrown at fat people. It doesn't help (though sometimes those who do the insulting say they do it in the guise of "helping"). All it does is push the fat person into depression, and doesn't "help" at all. More likely they'll think, "Why should I lose weight to please some douchebag who treats me with contempt?" Change must come from within, not because someone is so nasty to you while telling you it's for "your own good" that you change yourself.

Well, off my soapbox. On to the recap!

Madelaine--Julia, no insult was given. Polita does have a weight problem and that can lead to many other problems down the road.
I worked with a lady that was very overweight. One day she talked to me about all of the medications she was taking just to be able to function. She died not much later and half of the company attended her funeral. Actually, that happened twice at the company that I was with. It's to bad as there are medical procedures today that can help.
Would you not say something to help encourage a smoker to quit? Same difference.
the gringo

If someone is unaware that their smoking, weight, or whatever may cause health problems, then sure, someone should let them know in as kind a way as possible.

Most of the time that's not how it's done or why it's done. It's done to be nasty and belittle. And I'm pretty sure most smokers and fat people are aware that it's not healthy.

Floridia, I am so flattered that you might think I started this blog but NOOOOOO. It was our wonderful blog mom, MELINAMA.

I am a newcomer compared to some. I started blogging here in 2010 when I joined Jean and PaulaH in writing about El Clon on Telemundo.

Niecie in MD and Anon:
Of course you're right that Leonardo is far worse than Cristina. But I was struck by their similarities. And I think it was intentional on the part of the writers.

Remember those miserable "Compare and Contrast" essays we had to write in school? I think the writers are always inviting us to do this with the characters and situations. I think they are doing that with the whole weight issue too.*

*But they are being a little disingenuous here. They can preach about the dangers of anorexia and bulimia and yet invite us to admire Nikki's thinness in all the glamor shots.

Katy! Hey, so glad to know you're watching this one too!

"Artfully dead." ROFLOL!!!

I was so enchanted by Nikki last night. Pick Up Sticks with a rude Ken Doll? Meatball with legs? Who wasn't smiling at our naughty girl's latest crimes?

Actually she payed a major compliment to Polita by recognizing her as a legitimate rival for Frankie's affection. It seemed to me that Ratiana suffered more in learning that Polita had been in Guzmi's bed than any emotional damage that Nikki's slights may have caused Poli.

Carlos

Great stuff, Elvira! And how hilarious that Nelson is more concerned with covering his own ass (by covering Kendra's face) than with covering Kendra's ass (which is fully exposed).

To give Salsero props, she DID look kind of dead. Her skin was a weird mottled color.

"Big Angel brings back (in his arms) Miss Victoria to the ranch. Tells the staff to call a doctor!" I was thinking Big Angel would need the doctor after toting Miss Vicky all that way. What a guy! And now he has yet another cross to bear.

Great pics and recap Elvira. Many thanks! Your comments on the inappropriateness, yet innocence, of the whole Vicky-JA encounter was spot on. I'm glad that at least one of them now realizes that they have crossed an invisible line. But, what's he going to do about it?

NovelaMaven- Loved your comment about Nelson covering his ass, but not Kendra's. I noticed that too. Also, ITA about Angel carrying Ms. Vicky all the way home.

Loved Polita's singing. I hope by the end of this tn that she gets a recording contract, in addition to her own galan.

Elvira--It's always such a pleasure to see your screen caps. You always do the recap justice. Will make a few comments, then read.

BTW--to Anon @2:17-First Time Commenting this afternoon on yesterday's recap--see my answer.

I wouldn't want to be in Big A's shoes--Padre told the truth, but he wasn't very helpful. Cross Cris--Very Nice Vick--Cris--Vick--Cris--Vick. No wonder the man had tears in his eyes and was oh so conflicted.

I wouldn't want to be in Nelson's shoes--he just isn't going to be able to shake KendHo so easily and Vick is in no mood to reconcile.

I wouldn't want to be in DWS shoes--even if he is a good twinkle-toed dancer. I'm sure he ferverently hoped KenHo was dead--it would clear the way for a guilt-free-conscience relationship with Bea. As it is, he's going to have to explain what KendritaHO is doing in his life.

I wouldn't want to be in Guzmancito's socks. He's been taking so much undeserved punishment from Brat Girl (I know, we have one over on AB, but she's in the background right now) over his trying to just be friends with Polita.

I wouldn't want to be in Anyballs shoes, Odette tightening the vise on one side and Vick on the other.

The women seem to be doing OK--no conflicts (haha).

thanks for the recap, Elvira. To Katy and Carlos, I'm with you regarding the chemistry between Nikki and the Guzmancito. Aw common, Nikki is just a goofy rich brat with nonesense words which I do love and enjoy. Those terms of endearments for Guzmancito such as 5th class gorilla etc. She is not a mean girl, she just use nonesense funny words. Okkkk? She also knows how to apologize...Soorry!!!! and she meant it. And kissing Guzmancito to show that she was sorry and interrupting his reprimand was priceless. How can you get mad at this girl. I also love the funny, amused look that Guzmancito gave Polita. I just wished that Polita would have the decency to apologize to him and to tell somebody the real truth about her "sleeping" in his bed to anybody so it would be clear what she has been doing and not be taken or misconstrued by anyone. That was really unfair to Guzmancito what she did.

"nonsense" I mean.

Elvira- I share Doris' appreciation of "artfully dead." Also, there is something about the timing of your simple statements like "Oh gag" and "Dude.Seriously" that just make me giggle.

Thanks for the recap and fabulous screencaps. I also really liked the golden back lighting during JA's "examination" of Vicky.

Vida2,

I think you expressed my feelings about Nikki much better than I've been able to. I marvel at the way she is able to mangle two languages in such a delightful way. The chemistry between her and Frankie is both sizzling and sweet. I swear I felt a rush of endorphins when she shut him up with that kiss last night and found myself left sitting there with a dopey smile on my face.

Carlos

Have been thinking about the mini fire storm all afternoon and so-- clarification, last and final comment. What I said was neither mean spirited, insulting or condensending, however, it was true. Polita does have a weight problem that can lead to worse things down the road. She is sweet, funny, a good singer and a good person but she needs to have a heart to heart talk with someone that can help her---as I said, going to co-workers funerals is no fun. Where I went off the track was, Nikki is definitely not the right one to have that talk with.
Anyway--now I can read the recap. Elvira---Thank you in advance.
the gringo

Elvira, I know I am late but what a terrific recap. Loved all the wonderful screencaps. Wow, what an epi.

I really wish Nikki hadn't insulted poor Polita. I think she really should have apologized, she is a spoiled girl who's mad with jealousy and hit Polita where it would hurt her the worst. Shame on her! I hope sometime, she sees what she has done to hurt Polita and apologizes.

Loved the Angel going to the priest. I have to say that was a wonderful talk he had with the padre. At least the Angel hasn't done anything with Ms Vikki to be ashamed of. He sought wise counsel and got it. I know some where upset that the padre didn't advise him to quit his job and avoid the temptation. That should really be the Angel's decision. He knows what to do if these feelings don't suddenly disapper. Will he act on these feelings? We will have to wait and see.

I liked that Ms Vikki thinks enough of Angel to have given him that cross, but it will spell trouble. It was her grandfather's after all. I wish she had given him a less obvious type of cross. They are so cute, caring for one another in a friendly way, but they are very close to crossing the line.

Poor Lili, damned if she does, damned if she doesn't. She doesn't want to see her parents seperate, but she doesn't want Mama to go away alone. Lili is of age though, and should do what she feels is right. Lili loves her Papa so much this will truly be a hard decision for her.

Wow, that kiss. That was something. I like what she said, shut up or I'll shut you up, lol. She sure did didn't she.

Loved your take on Furminator. Anything to save his butt, and now Kendho has him in her clutches. She will make sure that Ms Vikki and Furminator are done!

Gringo~~~~~ it was Nikki I was mad at. I so didn't like the way she insulted Polita. Guzmi would be the one to have the heart to heart with Polita or even Jean Marie or Tomi. I see what you mean, but Polita is very active and lively. I get what you said about her : )

"Hairy Loser Nelson"

"They have this sweet (but seriously, inappropriate) conversation"

"The "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" look on Salsa-Dude's face when Useless Hairy Nelson covers her face says it all."

"The priest is actually helpful in many ways, except he leaves out one important bit of advice—QUIT YER JOB, BIG ANGEL!!! Come on! Was I the only one yelling that at the screen? Dude. Seriously."

Oh God, oh God, oh God. :D Great job, Elvira!
