Amor Bravío #140 (Uni 135) Wed 3/6/13 “Vacuna Victory. Today’s Score: Good Guys – 1 Dio - 0 ”

Part 1:  As we begin tonight's capitulo.....

Camila’s Cabana:  Miriam, Vivi and Cam stand in Camila’s bedroom as Camila gives them the good news that Dan is in recovery, his pulse is strong and his fever is gone.  Miriam goes to Dan’s bedside as he wakes up.  Cami steps back and they exchange places.  Dan appears to look at Miriam and yet sees a fuzzy Camila.  He is groggy and asks “What am I doing here love, I love you”.  But who is Dan directing the “te amo” to - Miriam or the Cami mirage?  A disoriented Dan sees Miriam lean closer and hears her respond to him, “Te amo tambien”.  Suddenly, Dan is not quite so disoriented and aware that he narrowly dodged a truth bullet.  Camila explains to Dan that he contracted the virus, and that Miriam has been able to obtain the vaccine to cure him.  Miriam gives praises to Camila as she adds that Camila has bravely been caring for him in the cabana.  Dan wonders how a city girl like Miriam could have gotten her hands on rare bull pneumonia vaccines that no one else in Mexico could (TN medicine Dan).  Miriam explains that she noted the information, sent it to Abe and told him to move heaven and earth to get the vaccine, pronto (while playing the guilt card just a teensy tiny bit).  “Of course”, groans Dan adding that Abe would do anything for Miriam. Miriam replies that Abe knows how much she loves Dan and that she would do anything to save his life.  As Miriam plants a smooch on Dan, Camila and Viv have “awkward!” written on their mask covered faces.

Hearing Room in El Pueblo:  Leo is standing behind bars with his guards as Isa is seated and facing him.  Between them, a judge stands to announce that everyone is gathered to carry out the face to face (llevar al cabo al careo) charges of LeoSordido against Isa along with testimony from  Soledad Garcia (neighbor at the hostel who saw Isa sneak out) and Dan (when he is healthy).  Cayetonto is sitting behind Isa along with Police Commander Juarez, Aaron and a handful of courtroom observers.  Cayetonto leans over and asks PC Juarez how that muchacho (Dan) is doing because he heard that Dan was infected with the virus.  PCJuarez informs him that the vaccine cure has been obtained and he is likely to recover.  The judge continues and announces that Isa stands accused of the murder of Padre Baldomero.  Isa barks that she is innocent.  This results in grunt, groans and cage rattling from speechless LeoSordido.  The judge warns Isa that he requires discipline in the hearing and she is only to talk when she is spoken to.  Isa yells back about this being an injustice!  The judge responds that they are assembled here to find justice.  Isa insists that she hopes so.   Now both speechless, Isa and Leo glower at one another.

Camila’s Cabana:  Miriam asks Camila if she can request a favor:  that she and the bebe can stay at the ranch while Dan recovers.  She doesn’t want to be away from Dan for  a minute.  Camila agrees telling her “my house is your house”.  Dan tries to protest that they have already been too much of a bother and they can return to el pueblo.  Camila informs Dan that he can’t go anywhere until he recovers and they are sure the vaccine was effective.  Miriam agrees with Camila and tells Camila that she will stay with Dan because Camila needs to rest up.  Nosirreee, says Camila, Dan is still possibly contagious.  Miriam suggests that, in any case, she help around the ranch while Camila recuperates after so many days under pressure.  Miriam looks at Dan lovingly and tells him that she is happy to see his beautiful eyes again.  She says that now she understands how he felt when she was in a coma.  Viv and Camila excuse themselves so the Dan and Miriam can be alone together.

La MQ Living Room:  Agustina is having tea with a retirement fund client who has come to visit.  Penelope tells Agustina that she was afraid to come sooner because of the virus and the quarantine, but that now, with the arrival of the vaccine, she felt safe visit again.  She tells Agustina that one of Agustina’s clients, Gladis, has had an awful accident on the highway on the way to the capital and is in very serious condition.  Agustina offers to have Padre Anselmo arrange some masses to pray for Gladis' recovery.  Penelope says that one of Gladis’ kids called to ask about the life insurance that is part of the retirement funds that Agustina sold Gladis.  It seems that the family will very likely need to cash out that life insurance policy that is part of the package.  There is life insurance, right, Penelope inquires?  Why of course, Agustina reassures her. Well, says Penelope, get ready to pay it.  Tick, tick, tick ……

La Oficina de LaBV:  Nat comes to visit Yago and tell him she saw his mother.  She asks him why he has not been to visit his mother.  Yago loses his temper and tells Nat to stay out of it and that his mother cheated on his father.  She suggests that even though that was a bad thing, Yago should not judge her because she has been through enough with her illness and all.  No way, Yago insists it his own business and that he has already given in to everyone else but that this is his issue to handle.  Nat asks what he means by giving in to everyone – who is everyone she wonders.  Yago stammers and suggests he is referring to all the people involved in the wedding – that he has given in already to these people.  Yago barely dodges the Dio bullet (with his own name Yago written in bold letters on it!).

Pablo and Luzma’s House:  Refugio is alone with Rocio and asks her if she is upset about “that woman”.  Rocio struggles to say that Isadora is a murderer and that Cayetonto is in danger.  Refugio shrugs and says that the only thing they can do is to ask to man upstairs to protect him.
Walkways of La BV:  Nat leaves Yago at the office and Iliana runs after her.  She tells Nat that the sad truth about her dearly beloved Yago is that he is not marrying Nat for love, but for money.  Nat doesn’t believe her because she says that Bratgirl is just bitter.  Bratgirl tries again to convince Nat saying that she is only telling her because she cares about her.  Oh sure, says Nat, just like Bratgirl cared about Luzma when she tried to ruin her wedding and ended up starting the events that led to Luzma’s assault.  She tells Bratgirl that her little game won’t work on her (but Yago’s will).   She tells Bratgirl to back off or she will tell her father-in-law and have her thrown out of the house and finishes by calling her a venomous redhead (pelliroja venenosa) and turns to leave.   Iliana gives up, reverts to the Bratgirl we all recognize and calls after Nat that she is a  stupid  “hick” (naca estupida).

Hearing Room:  Back in the dark cement hearing room, the judge begins to read Leo’s declaration as viewerville hears his voice narrating the events.  Isa came looking for Leo and asked his to finish off “la cura pinacates” (nickname for Padre Baldomero) but not to talk to anyone about it.  They offered him three million pesos to do it.  When he came back from the job, he found out that Padre had crashed (estrellado) into a tree and although Leo thought the padre was dead, he wasn’t!  Isa then told Leo that they were going to have to give the job to someone else because he hadn’t succeeded in doing it.   They asked Leo to give them back the six thousand pesos they had advanced him.  Isa barks that this is a lie and that it was Al who approached Leo.  She demands to know  how she would obtain that kind of money. On the other hand, she shouts, it was Al who arranged for LeoSordido to kill Dan and it was Leo who shot him.  LeoSordido is asked and must admit that this is true.  Isa is indignant and demands to know why LeoSordido is lying about her.  She adds, however, that the amount is the exact amount that AlLocoLonso had stolen from Camila when he was still married to her.  She tells them to ask Camila if they don’t believe her.  Isa claims that Al asked her to put the money in her bank account but she never knew what the money was for.

Camila’s Cabana:  Miriam cannot contain herself anymore. She asks Dan why he lied to her.  Dan asks who told her.  She replies that it doesn’t matter, that now she knows the whole truth.  Why the deception, she asks.  Dan tells her that it was brother Abe who insisted that Dan lie.  It was because of everything that happened to Miriam and her delicate health.  Miriam asks Dan why he came to Mexico and he explains that he wanted to see about his inheritance and find the answer as to  who had hurt her.  He thought Miriam was dead.  Dan wistfully tells Miriam she doesn’t know just how many nights he spent crying about her death.  She asks if Dan got the answer as to who injured her.  He explains that he only has part of the story.  He knows that Al and others wanted him out of the way so that they could get his inheritance.   He and Camila had to struggle to hold on to La MQ.  But there are still people who are trying to take possession of La MQ.  Dan promises to tell Miriam all the details but that now he needs to rest.  Miriam says that now she understands why he does not want to leave Mexico after having passed so much time there.  She also understands the feelings between him and Camila because of all they went through.  She adds that it is obvious that Camila cares  for very much for Dan.   Dan pauses and then tells Miriam that the only reason he lied to her was to protect her in her delicate condition.  He says he knows that everything he is telling her is difficult to assimilate.  Miriam reassures him that neither he nor Abe need to overprotect (sobreproteger) her ands that now he can tell her the whole truth.

Garden Walkways of La MQ:  Viv admires Camila for enduring what happening with Miriam and Dan.  Viv admits it would be hard for her to do what Camila is doing.  Camila says this is why she wants to have distance between she and Dan.  However, Miriam has asked Camila to stay at the ranch for a few more days to be by Dan.  Viv asks Camila if this is okay and wishes she could do more for her BFF. Viv worries that with all that Camila has been through that she could get sick.   Camila explains to Viv that they will be there for a few days and then leave.  Meanwhile, Camila has plenty of business to attend to that will serve  to distract her – buying bulls to replace the ones that were lost to the virus.

Camila’s Cabana:  Dan and Miriam continue to talk and he tells Miriam that he and Abe have one thing in common – they both worry about her.  Miriam says although she was furious with Dan, it is Abe she should be angry with since he is the one who made up all the lies. Dan adds that Abe misjudged Miriam – that she would not be able to handle the fact that Abe had put Dan in jail.  She wonders how anyone could think that Dan would do her harm.  Dan confirms that he would never do any harm to Miriam, at least not intentionally.  She caresses his face and says that yes, this is why she loves him along with many other reasons.
Hearing Room in El Pueblo:  The judge announces that the hearing will continue tomorrow and that Isa will remain in custody until the other people are available to testify.  Isa is not happy with the news!  Outside the police station Omar calls to report to Dio.  He tells him that Isa has to stay in jail.  He says he has other news…. that the police are talking about not being able to compare the document that says Hector Gutierrez and the fingerprint on it with the photocopy of another document with his Dio name on it. Que?  Dio is not happy about this news! Are you sure they used the name Hector Gutierrez in relationship to mine?  Yessireee reports Omar.

Living Room of La MQ:  Agustina introduces Dio to her friend Penelope she is leaving.  Agustina explains that Penny is visiting to inform her that a friend has had a bad accident and may die.  The son wants to know about the life insurance they purchased from Agustina.   Agustina asks Dio what she should do and  where they will get the money (Call selected New York investment bankers - Stat!).  Dio  starts to hyperventilate and tells her they will not rush to find the answer.  Instead they will wait to see what happens to Agustina’s friend.  Dio changes topics and ask Agustina how Dan is. Agustina changes tone to the happy news that the ranch and Dan have been saved because the vaccines were found and delivered to LaMQ.  Dio starts to hyperventilate again….. Como?  Agustina explains further that a private plane delivered the cure to the airport in Aculco.   Dio, beside himself, stomps off muttering to himself.  Locked and alone in his ranch office, he curses his mistake in assuming the vaccines would be delivered to the airport in DF.  One more time his nefarious plan to get Camila to sell him the ranch has failed.  He tries hard to calm himself so he can think of alternatives.

Pastures of La MQ:  Mariano, Viv, Rafa and Camila wander in the pastures discussing the number of bulls that have been vaccinated so far (75) and the number that have died so far (102).  All are clearly relieved that no more bulls  have died since the outbreak.  Camila reports that Miriam will be back at the ranch while Dan recovers.  Viv excuses herself with Rafa to take Miriam to fetch her  belongings as well as the baby and bring them back to the ranch.  Alone together, Mariano says he doesn’t know if he could do what Camila is doing but Camila says she is sure he would do the exact same thing she is doing.  Camila has adopted the  “you do what you gotta do” philosophy.  She requests that the pair of them move on down the pasture to count the number of bulls that need to be replaced.

Jail:  A still-tanned and Bahama-bedecked Isa is yelling at Cayetonto about her incompetent lawyer and why Cayetonto is bringing her food when she needs to get out of prison.  She asks him to use his influence or to bribe someone.  Cayetonto (who is without his magic happy drops) pushes back with her screeching and says he cannot tolerate corruption.  Realizing she has now crossed the line of acceptable behavior with Cayetonto, she apologizes and claims she is desperate and only wants to be released in order to go finish her honeymoon with Cayetonto.

OK friends, we continue to Part 2 of our story ….

Camila’s Cabana:  Dan and Camila are alone because Miriam is on her way to town to fetch the budgkin and belongings (the woman must travel with a trunk to stay as put together as she does!).  Dan thanks  Camila for all she has done for him and says that in a few days he will return to Chile.  He says he needs to talk to  Lic B to settle and relinquish (ceder) his part of the ownership of the ranch before he returns to Chile. Somewhere in this discussion, Camila (slightly insistently) asks Dan when he is leaving and he wonders if she really wants him to go “that much”.  She asks him why he is asking this question (duh!) and that he knows the answer.   However, he would like to first see Isa and Dio in jail.  Camila tries to convince him that justice is at least partly being had as someone, Isa,  is beginning to pay.  But Dan tells Camila that he doesn’t want to leave her alone while Dio is still free because he is a dangerous man.  Camila basically tells him Dan has paid his dues and to go back to Chile and forget about everything in Mexico.  They debate about him wanting to stay and help solve the problems.  Camila insists on sending Dan the money he is owed for his part of the ranch when the financial situation at the ranch improves.  She owes him this and doesn’t want him to leave empty-handed; especially after all he has been through.  Dan tells Camila that no money can compensate him for not being able to be with her as he intended.   He says that the way she taught him how to love isn’t worth even a thousand ranches.   If he can’t have her, he doesn’t want anything.  Throughout their declarations of love, their theme plays…

Pablo’s Office at La MQ (Question:  How come Pablo doesn’t get the main rancho office with the bull puzzle on the wall rather than Dio.  He is the only one of the two actually working on behalf of the ranch!).
Pablo and New Girl are retrieving, printing and discussing all the bills resulting from the epidemic episode.  New Girl comments that Miriam must be loaded with pesos based on the costs of the vaccines from Argentina and the private plane from Chile etc.  (Viewerville thinks that New Girl suffers from impulsive mouth syndrome.  Does she have no discretion? And she wants to be a psychologist?  Geez!).  Pablo continues with business and tells her to call Pepe Barron the assessor (I think).  Pablo sees a check from Camila to Yago and asks New Girl what it is for.  She explains that it is to pay Mariano back for supplying the bulls for the events when the LaMQ was in quarantine.  He asks if Mariano knows about the payment.  New Girl replies no.  Hmmmm…. Viewerville hopes that Little Rat has overplayed his hand and gets his tail caught in the trap.  At least it won’t be wandering the streets.

Camila’s Cabana:  Dan and Camila continue to debate her paying him back for the ranch, while really finding opportunities to declare their everlasting devotion and love to one another.  Camila agrees with Dan that nothing will compensate  them for the love they had and lost. Camila insists that Uncle Dan wanted “notDanJr” to have the ranch and she is going to honor his wish, dadnabit!  Dan counters that Uncle Dan did it because he was desperate and wanted a way to protect Camila.  Dan did it with love and doesn’t want anyone to pay him for what he did.  It made Dan happy to protect Camila.  He insists that this ranch is Camila’s and only Camila’s.   He waxes poetic and tells Camila that if he had to do what he did, suffer what he suffered to feel what he feels when he kisses Camila or to be able to love her again, he would.  Ahhhhhh.   Viewville considers that Dan has perhaps forgotten the escape through the Chilean forest, the sharks in the Pacific, the  fleas on the beach sand and swabbing the boat deck.  Just wondering…  Camila says not to tell her this but Dan says it is true.  Camila admits she feels the same way.  She says she wishes she could hate Miriam, but she can’t because she really is charming.  Dan says that whatever happens, Camila will always be in him.  She begs that he think in the reverse, that they try to live without each other.  He says he cannot. He can try to relive, but he cannot forget her.  It is impossible.  Camila says to Dan that Miriam knows he lied, but does not know about the two of them.  They talk about what Miriam knows (brain inflammation) and doesn’t know (aneurysm) about her condition.  He asks how Camila knows.  Mariano, she says.  The mention of Mariano’s name makes Dan frown and he says he knows that Mariano is just waiting for the opportunity to get closer to her (Duh x 2!).  Dano does not look happy.  She replies something about maybe she should order her heart to consider it (not sure, but something like this), Dan looks impactada and she apologizes for staying stupid things.  Dan pauses and tells Camila “Te amo”.  Camila leaves, closes the door and replies softly “Te amo tambien”.

El Hostel:  Nat bounces in, greets her mamita and reports what SnakeGirl had the audacity to tell her.  Que?  Amanda wants to know.  Well, Nat explains, she said that Yago isn’t marrying her for love, but for money (or interes – for some type of gain).  He is doing it because his dad is pressuring him and her new DaddyGotPlayPesos is giving him money.  She says no one at LaBV likes this pelliroja and the only reason she is still there is that Cayetano feels sorry for her.  She reminds Amanda that she is the same one who caused Luzma to suffer.  Amanda reflects and asks, the one who called LeoSordido about the wedding?  Yup, that one (esa mera)!  Nat excuses herself to rest up and tells her mamita that she will keep chipping away at Yago about Rocio until he reconciles with her.

Hallway of LaMQ:  Pablo hands Camila the bills, they review them and agree they owe more pesos than they have.  Camila suggests they need a loan. Coinkidinkily, Dio overhears as he descends the stairs and offers his help.  All she has to do is ask.  She declines.  Aww gee, he suggest, if she is worried, they can write up a document outlining the payments and, say, use La MQ as collateral.  Camila wisely declines.  Dio has a very difficult time comprehending her rejection of this offer, especially after he says to consider his helping her as if she were his “hija” -  (Geez, we can now add perverted thinking about his secret fantasy girl to his list of crimes!)  Camila wisely declines and tells him straight up she has no intention of putting the ranch under his claim.  Dio is not happy and hyperventilates himself down the hallway.  Mariano, standing behind Camila all the while tells her to “cuentas conmigo”.  Camila hands Mariano another check to pay for the bulls to cover LaMQ obligations.  She explains that she agreed with Yago to do this - Mariano protests – and she  adds that she already gave money to Yago (I think).

Jail:  Isa, now sporting an appropriate black dinner jacket in her cell bellows down the hall to get her out of the jail.  A cellmate across the way tells her to shut up and Isa tells her to shut up and calls her ugly, to boot.  Omar arrives and delivers a note from Dio to her.  She tells Omar that Dio better be doing something to get her out of jail, or they will soon be sharing the same fate!  She reads the note and Dio tells her to have patience and he will get her out since her dumbass husband cannot seem to get it done.

Partyline Conversation Between Osvaldo and Agustina:  Osvaldo is talking to Agustina, trying to convince her to get the original document with Dio’s fingerprints on it.  He suggests their marriage certificate.  Agustina says Dio keeps it at his house.  All the while, Dio has approached their bedroom and is eavesdropping at the door (a closed one too!).  He realizes while eavesdropping that it was Agustina who gave the photocopy of his license to the police and that she has betrayed him.  He clenches his jaw and says “mi pobre Agustina”….that the possible death of her friend (who needs a cashout) and this necessary revenge will lead to her being Dio’s lifeline (tabla de salvacion).  Viewville is left with the close-up still shot of Dio’s face, jaw clenched in anger, and the sinking feeling that Agustina will not be so Self-Justina in the coming episodes…..

Caray Carayer and Unnamed Lurkers,

Here is part 1 with part 2 to follow after some sleepytime for Mena with poochies at the bedside in full agreement.

It was amusing to see El Diablo foiled again. However, considering his anger management issues I'm wondering how much worse he will be later on.

Great Part 1 Mena. Lots of stuff going on last night, but I really enjoyed seeing Dio losing it about the vaccines and the fact that the cops are hot on his trail to reveal his identify fraud. Of course the end of the episode was a total buzzkill.

Urban- I also really worry about Dio's escalating rage, and I especially worry for Gussy.

Coming soon ..... Awfully quiet on the comment board... Hmmm.......

Thanks Mena, this is excellent so far.

Isn't Isadora's makeup holding up well? I would have thought by now she'd be looking like a neglected fresco.

As the judge read Leoncio's testimony, Leoncio had me cracking up by accompanying the reading with appropriate hand gestures and facial expressions.

Carlos

Thanks Mena, can't wait for the rest. Yes, the Dion takedowns are very enjoyable to watch. But poor Aggie, it was nice knowing you. (Actually, I don't predict her death, my guess is she makes it through alive)

One thing I didn't get was if her friend died and needed to cash in the insurance, why does Aggie think that there wouldn't be money to cover it? If she thinks she's just selling a legitimate insurance plan, then she shouldn't be concerned about it.

Yes, Leo was funny with the gestures while his testimony was read. But why hasn't he accused her of cutting out his tongue? Is that still to come?

So Omar is holding true to his dastardly behavior, too bad. I had a very small hope.

Cathyx- I don't think Gussy was concerned about where the money would come from. She was just clueless about the process for getting the money and was asking Dio how/what's the procedure for doing so. This just shows how blindly she took on this thing, without ever really learning how to do her "job". Of course, she never did do that training course in Las Vegas, and she let Dio sweet talk her into forgetting all about it.

Carlos- You're impressed by the staying power of Isa's makeup, but I have been impressed by the staying power of her tatas! First of all, very nice boobs for someone of any age, much less someone with a few years on her. But what blows me away is that with all her vigorous movement during her angry outbursts, being handcuffed behind her back, and shifting positions on that tiny cell block, her girls are still in place, perky, and looking very good. Wow!

In giving his testimony against Isadora, didn't Leoncio admit to committing more crimes than he's currently serving time for?

And speaking of fools, why doesn't Cayetano go ahead and get the property back in his name? Now that the divorce has been finalized, having it in Isadora's name doesn't benefit him anymore.

Agustina telling Dio about Dan and the ranch being saved. Best moment ever. I was laughing my head off. I told the cats—Neo and Julie—“he’s having a REALLY bad day.”

Nanette

Anon 12:30- Leo was already convicted for shooting Dan and Pablo, in addition to what he did to Luzma. What he admitted was that he did it on Al's orders. That was new info.

Yes, Cayetano is a fool, for many, many reasons. Only one of them being still having the ranch in Isa's name. Mariano scolded him about this specific issue last episode, but Caye basically put his fingers in his years and sang, "Shalala, I can't hear you!" Then told him to get out if he didn't like it. When the crap hits the fan, he can't say he didn't get warning. So many people have tried talking sense to him-- even Yago.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Clarification: That he (Leo) shot Dan on Al's orders...not shooting Pablo too or what he did to Luzma.

Correction: Put his fingers in his ears, not years.

Anon, that's a great point. There is no reason for Cayetano to put the property in her name at all. However, there is no fool like an old fool and he is not considering any possibility that he can't trust her or how this will offend his sons.

As to admitting to more crimes, I don't know what else the law can do to Leoncerdo now. I think he was sentenced to thirty years and he's not likely to live that long. Any more on that would mean "perpetua" or life without parole.

Mena - Muchas gracias for Part 1. Appreciate all the details.

I found it amusing that at one point Leosordido was gesturing about something and Aaron knew precisely what it was and relayed it to the judge.

Part 2 is all lit up now.

I was wondering the same thing as a few of you who commented. Didn't Agustina learn ANYTHING other than to sell the retirement funds?
Anon - I think Cayetonto made an agreement for six months. Even if he doesn't need the agreement, he sees no danger and no need to hurry things up.... Besides his pride says he is right and there is no danger.

Thanks for both parts, Mena. What a lot of action today.

Did anyone else think that Amanda is going to have a little talk with Bratgirl? She had that look on her face.

Aggie will now share a cell with Isa, I think.

I think if those two were to be in the same cell we could have a hell of a catfight.

Thanks so much for Part 2 Mena.

Considering the last time we saw Isa slap Gussy around, my bet would be on Isa winning a jailhouse cage fight. :) I did have a huge laugh when Isa called the woman in the other cell ugly, as if that's a crime. LOL!

Does Mayalen want to be a psychologist too? I thought it was just Luzma. How did I miss that they both intend to study the same thing in college? If that’s what Mayalen wants to be, then she definitely needs to learn discretion—a virtue she doesn’t currently possess.

Mena: I love how you come up with these old fashioned sayings, dadnabit!

Was anyone else surprised at how affectionate Iago was to Nat (before she asked him about his mama, of course)?

Ileana is her own worst enemy. If she even had a remote chance of having Nat believe her, she lost it when she said she was telling Nat all this because she cared for her.

All the stress Miriam has been going through lately and it hasn’t popped her aneurysm, I think she can handle the whole truth. Hopefully, Dan will realize that.

Cathyx- Yes. Amanda's brain was definitely working overtime when clueless Nat told her what Ili said about Yago. I wouldn't be surprised if she speaks to her. Iliana has burned so many bridges that no one likes her or believes anything she says now.

Thank you, Mena, for a fabulous recap. So many great asides, but my favorite regarding Yago: Viewerville hopes that Little Rat has overplayed his hand and gets his tail caught in the trap. At least it won’t be wandering the streets. LOL.

I'm worried about Agustina big time now, but I do think if she gets any vibes that Dio is after Camila or had anything to do with LMQ's problems, she will work to bring him down.

Miriam needs to hear the whole truth asap. I can't stand much more of these secrets:)

Many thanks, Mena, for this excellent recap. Do you (or anyone else) understand what Dio meant when he said that Agustina is going to be converted into his lifeline? I've been assuming for some time that he was going to kill her off before the end of the TN, but I fail to see how either her death or her going to jail for fraud can be a lifeline for Dio. Is he hoping that Camila will do whatever he wishes in order to save her mother?

Cathyx, I too had some hope that Omar would cease being loyal to Dio. I'm still holding our a smidgen of hope, and that the writers are merely playing with us by not having it happen when we think/hope it will.

My guesses for what will happen in this telenovela have generally been embarrassingly wrong, and to maintain my reputation for booby-prize forecasts, I'll go on record as saying I think somehow Hissadora will be released and that an enraged He Who Shall Not Be Named will escape from prison to accomplish what the judicial system failed to do.

Nanette- I said it before and I’ll say it again. I think Dan would have the same dilemma with telling Miriam about Camila (and Cam would have the same issue with being uncertain about who he loves), even if there were no health issues with Miriam.

I do think that in the last few days both Camila and Dan have become more certain that Dan is in love with Cam, and not Miriam any longer. I don’t think this was clear to either of them in the first few days. Dan was certainly very confused about his feelings. I think it has done him some good to live alone with Miriam, even if it was just for a few days.

The fear about Miriam’s health is still out there. But the way she has handled so much of the truth should be a sign to Dan that, if told in the right way and given the right preparation, Miriam would be able to withstand learning that he fell in love with Camila when he thought he was a widower. I do think there is validity to thinking that it’s far easier to accept that your brother lied to your husband about your death and threw him in jail, than it would be to accept that the love of your life fell in love with and married someone else, and no longer loves you. That would affect Miriam on a much deeper personal level, than hearing about Dan’s travails would. I just think that Dan’s hesitation is not just about the health concerns, but also about not wanting to be the bad guy—not wanting to hurt Miriam, who loves him so deeply and is innocent in all of this. Of course, he’s hurting Camila instead. But if one of the two women has to get hurt, it’s easier for him to justify it being Camila—she came second; she doesn’t have health issues; and she is not the mother of his child.

Vivi: you're right about Dan. It would not be easy for Dan to tell Miriam about falling in love with Cam, no matter what her health is like. There's his chlld to consider now, too. As we've all said before, what a mess!!!

I would like M to find out soon, I'd like to see that play out over time and not have it rushed during the real Ultimas Capiulos or the Gran Final.

I too, Nanette, would like Miriam to find out about Dan and Camila soon. That gives the TN time for her to fall in love with someone else. I'd like that to happen. She really is a sweet person.

I really like Camila's you gotta do what you gotta do attitude. But Vivi is right. The girl's been running on nothing but fumes the last few weeks-- high stress, little sleep (where has she been sleeping, while Dan is in her bed)?), and little food-- and heartache on top of it.

Thanks so much Mena. "(the woman must travel with a trunk to stay as put together as she does!)" I know, I know. She's such a prissy little fashion plate even in the midst of a roll-up-your-sleeves crisis. Makes me crazy.

"(Viewerville thinks that New Girl suffers from impulsive mouth syndrome.  Does she have no discretion? And she wants to be a psychologist?  Geez!)" I must have missed that about her career aspirations. Remind me to steer clear of Aculco if I get depressed or something.

Beanie time again: they've just barely pulled the needles from the surviving toros' hides and invoices are flooding the office. Now I do realize it's hard to stay ahead these days, but sheesh, the postal service must be working overtime on this. How many days has this been going on?

Which brings me to (and I know this has been discussed and confirmed): why are we already in ultimos capitulos? Are they compressing the episodes or was it actually written that way? I don't want too much plot scrunching after all this complex exposition rolled out at such a gratifying pace .

And, Carlos: that''s incredibly poetic "...looking like a neglected fresco."...poetic and apt. I wondered when she would cover up her (magnificent) shoulders. Everybody else was wearing sweaters. —Agnes

Vivi: yes and I'm afraid she'll collapse. I don't think she's infected, but if she collapses, there's going to be a moment when they all think she is. She's also vulnerable to Dio like this. Juanita mentioned he might use blackmail--emotional or otherwise--to get Cam to do what he wants and she won't have the mental or physical strength to fight him.

Thank you for your recap Mena.

Juanita –“Is he hoping that Camila will do whatever he wishes in order to save her mother?” Exactly what he meant; Dio’s two obsessions are LMQ & Camila and Augustina has been the key to both the minute he con her into selling the fraudulent life insurance.

Vivi & Nanette complete agree with both you about Dan-Cam & Miriam –very perceptive observation. I further believe that Dan will confess the whole truth the second he finds out that Miriam is completely healthy.

Agnes- They haven't been snipping and cutting since they announced ultimos capitulos, so I still assuming that just made an error with the wording and they meant ultimas semanas. If we start to see stuff that looks out of joint, then we can start to worry.

As for the bills, it's not like thay all came in yet. They know they have to buy back bulls to make up for the 102 they lost and they already know how much that would cost approximately; Camila is the one who wants to rush to pay back Mariano for the bulls BV loaned them to fulfill their contracts; and she's also the one who asked that Pablo find out approximately how much it would have cost to buy the vaccines-- Miriam has not asked to money, Cam is the one insisting on paying everyone back. Based on these estimated costs, she knows she will need a loan from the bank.

Juanita, "I'll go on record as"...agreeing with you. I'm also one who has barked up the wrong tree so many times at pivotal points. But I guess that's what makes this such a fun ride. Nobody here is indifferent. And I really love everybody's take on the developments But I bet you are right about Leo taking justice into his own hands.—Agnes

LXV –“Beanie time again: they've just barely pulled the needles from the surviving toros' hides and invoices are flooding the office. Now I do realize it's hard to stay ahead these days, but sheesh, the postal service must be working overtime on this. How many days has this been going on?” Not really a lot of vendors nowadays are sending invoices electronically and receive payments the same way. Better cash flow management and paper flow. So, considering it’s been 3 days; a vendor with an efficient accounting system will be able to generate an invoice the second the shipment is made.

Myo-

Sorry for all the typos about the bills.

Juanita- I totally agree with you about Isa and Leo. These two WILL meet again, and it will be no prettier than their last meeting when she had a knife. Leo's hatred of her grows daily.

Thanks Vivi for the clarification. This is just an example of how much I appreciate those with really good Spanish where mine is so lame, that sometimes the gist just isn't good enough. I just thought it was a bit early in the script to be worrying about bookkeeping—don't you just love that word, three double letters in a row—when Dan had only just opened his eyes and Camila hasn't even changed her clothes yet.

I'm worried for Amanda and for Augie. Dio is on a rampage and both of them are in his direct path. As for the disappointment with Omar, too bad. I would have been more interesting if he had gone over to the other side, if only to save his own skin.

Agnes- Yeah. Cam is giving herself NO downtime at all. She’s running from one thing to the next—cure Dan; soothe Miriam; check on bulls and give field staff instructions; go over invoices and create payment plan; avoid advances of creepy stepfather; and avoid breaking down into sobs in front of love of your life when he says he’s leaving. Food and sleep are not included on her To Do list. :)

But seriously, it is smart to get ahead of your bills/invoices and to know what's coming down the pike. It's better to get the loan from the bank BEFORE all her debtors are breathing down her neck.

There is also the possibility that the bills were e-mailed to her. There's a lot of that going around.

The next anvil is going to fall on Gussie, though. This situation with the friend and the life insurance thing is going to get her before Camila and Daniel can do away with Dionicio.

LXV: "bookkeeping" is a fun word to write and look at. So is Mississippi. I love the way these words trip on the tongue: lethargic and redundant. "Lovely" is a lovely word to say.

I noticed Cam only broke down once this ep. Such a welcome change. Sorry, it was all so totally natural for her to breakdown as often as she did. It's just the TN pacing kept it going on and on and on. . .

UA: that and there's been a couple of mentions about Cam's health.

Thank you, Mena!

Miriam sure jumped into the mentiste-mataste conversation quickly. Poor Dan. It’s hard enough to keep your stories straight when you are fully conscious, but spinning the lies while just coming to takes a champ. Fortunately, you are in that category. And now that the lady is telling you she can handle the whole truth and she has, indeed, already handled a bunch of truth without popping a gasket, the only thing stopping you would be … *brockbrockbrock* you’re chicken. Sure, you can keep telling yourself that Camila’s love is worth a million ranches and all the suffering you’ve been through all you want, but if it isn’t worth getting a second opinion on the aneurysm, then I call it . .. wait for it … bull!

Okay, I wrote that bit of snark before I read Vivi’s thoughtful and articulate post, but we are both on the same track. Dan would have trouble telling M about C, even without the health issues. He is hurting C instead of M, but only because C already knows the truth and Dan doesn’t have to man up to her like he would to M. He had to tell C about the aneurysm, but that wasn’t admitting his own hurtful behavior to her. She was the one who immediately concluded ‘of course now you have to stay with M’. I think Dan just doesn’t have what it takes to sit down with Miriam, look her in the eye, and tell her the truth about Camila. The health issue is just a dodge.

I also don’t agree that living with Miriam helped clarify Dan’s feelings. I think it made him feel closer to Miriam and more resigned to being stuck with her. He did jump into the sack with her, remember. I think what reminded him how much he cares for Camila was the virus epidemic and how he wanted to be there with her and to help her. Her telling him that she didn’t want him around, and seeing how she relied on Mariano helped him see – and feel - the finality of his decision, and he doesn’t like that.

If Piedad ever tells the scoobies that Dio is behind the virus attack, Augustina ought to be able to add support or testimony if it comes to that. His reaction both times to her happy news about the vaccine is downright bizarre unless he were guilty.

With her screeching and suggestion of bribery is showing her true colors to Caye. Too bad he is too much of a blind fool to see them.

“the bull puzzle on the wall” LOL! I have been puzzling over that wall “art” since I first laid eyes on it. I’d have to say that one thing I agreed with Isa about was the removal of all the bull “art” from the casa. I understand it’s a bull ranch and everything, but really. It is possible to have too much of the stuff. However, while I have been harboring my distaste for Don Dan’s taste, I myself acquired my very own piece of bull “art”. It is a freebie calendar that I got in a Mexican restaurant last month. I didn’t really look at it until I got it home, and now it makes me laugh every time I see it. :)

Was that check for the BV bulls to the ranch or to Yago personally? Because that would tell us and Mariano exactly what the little rat was up to.

Vivi, do boobs normally become non-perky during arrests and other stressful events? ‘Cause if they do, that’s something I’ve missed my entire life. You’ve got a sharp eye, girlfriend. ;)

Camila is getting overwrought; that’s for sure. The girl could try saying ‘no’, however. I think she should have told Miriam that she couldn’t stay at the ranch; after all, Augustina had just run them off, but I suspect the script writers want her there for some reason.

We didn't see Camila write the check, so we have no idea whether it was written to Iagho personally or to La Buenaventura. With about 27 hours to go there is enough time for Mariano to check the accounts for the deposit and find out whether Iagho pocketed the money.

Which I wouldn't put past him, that's for sure.

As for whether the remaining episodes will be cut down, I doubt it. There is so little filler in this series that it would hurt what's left.

What a ride this TN has been. I think I'm going to have a little problem transitioning from this one to FC's new one.

Carolina- After a long day in their holster and moving around a lot, the girls do need to be hoisted and lifted and re-arranged to look just right. Gussy has not had to do any of that. It's impressive. Maybe those with small tatas never have to do this (mine haven't been small since I was 12), but I've seen pics of even skinny stars with smallish boobs wearing dresses that show a bit too much on top, who look like they need to lift the girls up a bit. :)

@Carolina: " *brockbrockbrock* you’re chicken"—I never knew how to spell that before. You are amazing because i can just hear it.

That's Isa, not Gussy in my previous comment. Although Gussy had some very fetching cleavage in the dress she wore to Camila's wedding to Dan.

Vivi, you continue to impress me with your wisdom and life skills. My poor girls have clearly been mismanaged all my life. :)

Thank you, Mena, for this wonderful recap. I hope that you and the poochies got a good rest in between parts 1 and 2. Much deserved.

Vivi -- you gave me such a good giggle today when, tired of pushing paper, I looked at the Caray,Caray feed and read your observations about Isadora's assets. So funny and well put.

Cathyx -- I am also wondering why Leo has not shared the fact that Isadora cut out his tongue with her bare hands -- that is, shared beyond Aaron. I remember Omar being in on it. A witness against Isadora and Dio in an ideal world!

I loved Padre B. Hearing that nasty Leo think about his as la cura pinacates made me smile at his memory and feel bad that it was Leo who evoked it.

Greetings All - a few comments and annoying picky details about the MQ finances that I happen to recall.... When Pablo is talking to NG, I heard that he is trying to estimate what it will cost to put the ranch back in order (replace bulls for example). He mentions something about attending an auction somewhere as a way of replacing the bulls (maybe more cheaply, but he wants to check with the assessor, P Barron. Then, when he talks to Cami, he shares what the vacunas will cost and the fines they have to pay. Sounds like estimates and future real costs, mostly..... Last, he asks NG who they gave the check to, so it seems no one signed the payee line like UA mentioned.

RE: the NG future plans, when she first visits the BV and is considered for the job at La MQ(then she disappears for a while) she says that she knows nothing about ranches and plans, in the future, to go to DF to study. Maybe I was channeling Luzma, but I thought she said to study Psychology - thinking that was it because she was clueless about ranches.

RE: Isa's Bahama look. She looks great, really, but I bet she also has lots of two-sided fashion designer tape holding everything in and up. I have a friend who is a wardrobe designer in the movie industry who showed me the real stuff....

Off-Topic Announcement:

Since Eva is coming to an end tomorrow, I will take a break from the weekend discussion posting, as finales tend to take a lot of posting energy and thought.

I will be getting back to you in a day or so about next weekend as I will be helping to host a St Patrick's Day party. If anyone else wants to volunteer to provide a weekend topic, please say so. In the meantime -- as I did with Refugio -- I will be composing the Karmageddon header for AB, to be posted two weeks prior to the finale.

Thanks for the great recap Mena!

Carolina: I suspect that Miriam needs to be at the ranch so that she can overhear truths through LaMal's very large, but apparently quite hollow, paneled cherry*wood* doors.

As usual, sorry about the typos! : /

It is interesting how the virtuous female protaganists in this TN and in LQNPA have had female authority figures who have sketchy or superficial values that the protaganists must continually challenge. Ana Paula and her aunt Rosario and Camila and Agustina. In the end of LQNPA Rosario told Ana Paula she was a good person and validated that she was "doing the right thing". She was a deliberate crook. Agustina, on the other hand, is more of a a dope who was duped but also has very superficial values .... I suspect she will eventually end up validating her daughter for having more "right thinking and actions" than she herself has exercised. Agustina-Self-Justina has frittered away many opportunities to have become a better person up until now.... So turn the wheels of self-realization in TN-land!

Netgirl, I suspect that you are right! Too bad that she didn't overhear Dan-n-Cam talking in the cabana about how much they loved each other.

Really, the only truths left for Miriam to learn that concern her directly are that Dionisio ordered the hit that nearly killed her and her baby, and that Cam and Dan are in love and married (sort of). All the other intrigues really have nothing to do with her.

Mena- From what I saw in LQNPA (I didn't watch it every day), AnaP was pretty clueless about her evil aunt up till practically the end. I didn't quite believe Tia MentiRosa's repentance in jail either. Cam has been pretty clear about what her mother's faults and short-comings are.

Gussy has never been evil. Misguided, silly, foolish, snobby, prideful-- yes. But her love for Camila has always been evident. I think it's interesting that she has started to doubt Dio, and is even working to find proof of his identity fraud, but she hasn't had the nerve to admit these doubts to Cami yet. Her pride is getting in the way, and I think it's her pride that has caused her to latch on to Dio, even when she had plenty of proof from the way he treated her that he was no Prince Charming. She didn't want to admit that she was wrong and that Camila and everyone else were right.

Mena, that's a great observation. Rosaura was a horrible role model in completely different ways from Augustina. She has lost too many opportunities through the story and I think her time is running out. She has just ceased to be useful to El Diablo.

For all the credit Miriam has gotten for obtaining the vaccine, I think it would be good to remember that she told Dan before he got sick that she didn't give a rat's ass about the ranch or its problems. If her husband hadn't gotten sick, I don't think she would have lifted a finger to help anyone. I don't think Camila would have been so effusive in her gratitude if she had know what Miriam had said before it affected her personally.

I really don't think Miriam cares about anything outside of her little bubble.

Yes, I do remember that, Carolina. It's true Miriam's world isn't as broad as Camila's, for sure, nor Dan. I remember her saying he should walk away from it all, not caring about anything but getting him out of there. Camila, I think, would have been disappointed if she knew Miriam was so dismissive of the ranch.

Vivi, fabulous character description of Agustina. ITA with everything you said about her, so eloquently. I believe you've described her precisely.

Marta, it isn't just that Miriam's world isn't very big. She doesn't seem to have a very big heart, either, and that is what bothers me. I wouldn't call her selfish (and I haven't) but I would most definitely call her self-centered.

Carolina re Miriam 100% agree; it's all about her her her; which is why last night the second that Daniel came back, not one how you feel, do you feel better, are you up to talking, NO; all she was concerned about was why did you lied to ME -- give the guy a minute to catch his breath -- I was so annoyed with her last night, then again I'm one of the few ones that can't stand her.

Myo-

Agnes, I hope that when you heard the *brockbrockbrock* you also pictured it delivered with the hands tucked in the armpits and flapping like fake chicken wings. :)

It's true what you're saying, Carolina. She's self-centered, and I guess that's what I meant when I said her world was small. When you make your word about the 3 or 4 people you need in your life without a concern about the rest of the world, it's a small, self-centered world...one I think Miriam is used to living in.

Yes, Myo, Miriam was irritating last night, and all the whole time I just knew she'd never leave because she deep down knows that what the rest of the story is that no one wants to tell her is about Daniel and Camila, and she knows what amor is, and she's seen it...but not for her. I think she's playing the excited, about to flip out thing a bit.

@Carolina: por supuesto LOL! —Agnes

Marta, interesting observation that Miriam probably already knows the truth, deep down inside her. If she cared to look for it, she would find it. ITA.
