Amor Bravío #136 (Uni 131) Thu 2/28/13 Amor Infectado

Daniel says Camila can't ask him to leave her alone now when she needs help with the bulls.  He's not happy when she reminds him she's got plenty of help--including Mariano.  She asks him to leave because it's becoming a torment.  "Oh, so I'm a torment to you!"  Dude, that's not what she said. He's grumpy because he's suffering too with all the marital nookie he's being forced to have so his wife pops her cork instead of, well, permanently popping her cork. Camila says she'll be ok on her own and it's best if they end it.  Daniel remembers Miriam saying she doesn't want him halfway. Daniel agrees to leave and never see Camila again.  Not that he won't pout about it.  Camila cries as he walks away.

Piedad is working on a pozole.  Maybe it'll cheer the bosses up to have some good food.  She talks to Dorotea about the ingredients she uses.

The health inspectors are responding to Dio's anonymous report.  The ranch could end up being quarantined.  The inspectors say there's no way to get the vaccine from out of the country without a lot of red tape.  Which they're fine to get going, but they want to confirm that it's the cabrex virus after all.

Baby Agatha fusses as Caridad and Miriam prepare to do some baking.  For Dante.  And Daniel.  Caridad's faith in love is restored by seeing Daniel and Miriam together.  Eep!

Piedad comes looking for Camila to tell her the guys from the health department are there, but she runs into Daniel instead.  He prepares to break his word by going to get Camila.

Rafael is dead set against adopting Roman.  Or, more to the point, he doesn't want to bring Roman into their home life when they're in the middle of figuring out what road their relationship is on.  Rafa says there's no way he's bringing a kid into an unstable relationship.  Vivi takes offense and says she's going to town.  Rafa says he's going to get Aaron and head over to La Malquerida.  Viv understands that their relationship isn't stable, but she still wants to adopt Roman.

Daniel comes up to tell Camila that the health inspectors are there. Camila freaks out that they'll quarantine the ranch…or worse.  She tells Rodolfo to inform the rest of the guys.  Daniel walks Camila back to the house.

The doctor isn't quite ready to release Rocio just yet.  He wants to run one more test first, buthe's sure she'll be releasedlater in the day.  Teresa comes in.  She teases Mariano for not telling Rocio that she'd been there before.  Rocio says the two of them make a great couple.

As Luzma goes back into the house in town, she has flashbacks to her miscarriage.  Pablo tells her soon they'll have kids of their own. Refugio hopes she's around to help care for them.  Pablo and Luzma go to get some groceries while Refugio gets the house ready.

Ana tells Roman she's going to be taking care of her grandma.  She's hoping that Camila will end up with her dad after all.  Roman tells Ana that he feels like Vivi's his mom when she reads to him, the way Ana felt like Camila was her mom when they went shopping.  Ana is determined they'll both have moms, even if it means she has to get her dad to adopt Roman.  And won't that make an interesting telenovela twenty years from now.

The health inspectors explain that if it's cabrex, they have to quarantine the ranch, even though Camila is taking measures on her own.  Daniel asks how they found out.  "An anonymous call, but that's not important."  Camila says if they're going to be sticking their noses in her business, then they'd better help her get the vaccine, cause so far she hasn't been able to locate any.  The inspectors tell her it will take anywhere from 2 to 5 days.  That might be too late for La Malquerida, but not for the neighboring ranches.

Out in the Bahamas, Isa gets the call that the bulls are dying out.  That's her wedding gift from Dionisio.  She actually misses him, but she doesn't want to weaken herself with love.  She goes into his nightstand and turns on the phone, adding a few more drops of Love Potion #9 to his water glass.  Too bad, though…he spills it. He notices his phone is on and Camila tells him she heard it ring just now. It happens to ring and turns out to be Yago, informing him about the virus.  So far it hasn't spread to Buenaventura.  He also says he's ready to marry Natalia, so he'd like Cayetano to come back to ask for her hand.  Cayetano tells Isadora that what's going on is very serious.  She has to convince him it's ok to go home, though.  Once he makes up his mind, Isadora texts Dionisio her thanks.

Ileana is furious that Yago is going to go through the whole traditional marriage thing. She asks how much he got paid. Yago refuses to answer and tells Ileana she'd better pack her things and go before his new stepmami gets there.  Isadora isn't likely to take kindly to Ileana hanging around and is sure to make her life hell.  Ileana won't go until Yago pays for all the times he dismissed her.

The La Malquerida crew confab in the meadow. Camila has given permission for anyone to leave who wants to, but they're all determined to stay, for the good of the ranch.  Rodolfo reminds him that they just need to remember to be careful.  Dorotea and Piedad help hand out gloves and masks to all the guys.

Rafael tells Aaron that he was really put off by Vivi telling him she wants to adopt Roman. Aaron sees it as evidence of her good heart.  Rafa says they just don't want the same things and it's throwing him off his game.  Camila and Daniel walk out of the house with the health inspectors.  The offer Camila their help, but she says there's nothing to do.  The ranch has been quarantined. They need to get their hands on vaccines within the next 3 days. Daniel warns it's going to take phone calls, because Pablo struck out using the internet.  Daniel is going to go back to town with them, but he collapses after a few steps.  Camila reports that he's running a fever and his pulse is slow.  She suspects he was contaminated with the virus and announces that he could die.

Camila instructs the guys to get Daniel into the cabin ASAP.

Tolentino can't take his eyes off of Irene.  "Well, you just look really pretty."  All the kids "oooooh" at that.  Vivi and Padre Anselmo come into the room.  Vivi says she's confused about Rafa's attitude.  Anselmo agrees with Rafa. He thinks wanting to adopt Roman and not wanting to marry Rafa is all about the same thing.  He asks her what she'd do if she had to choose between Rafa and Roman.  He suspects she's so afraid of screwing up her relationship with Rafa that she's pushing him away on purpose.

Natalia chatters away about the wedding preparations to Dante.  Amanda comes up with his change and tells him the laundry is up in his room.  Dante figures he'll be leaving for Chile again soon.  Natalia would rather he stuck around for the wedding, but Dante only came with Teresa so he could see Daniel.  He was so happy to know Daniel was alive he had to see it for himself.  As Miriam walks in looking for Dante, they continue their discussion…

Amanda: Weren't you in Chile when Daniel was apprehended?

Dante: No, I was on a trip.  When I got back to Santiago, Abraham told me that Daniel was accused of Miriam's murder.  That's what he was arrested for, but he escaped when he found out his wife and child had supposedly died.  The truth is, I was shocked.  I could never understand how Abraham could accuse Daniel of wanting to murder Miriam, when he loved her more than his own life.

The guys wrestle Daniel into Camila's bed…no, not like that…as Camila calls the doctor.  Luckily he was nearby, so he'll be there in a few minutes.  Aaron asks what will happen if someone else contracts the virus.  Well, duh, Aaron, that would suck, big time.  Camila sends him to the bathroom for wet towels to help cool Daniel off while Rafa continues to work on getting Daniel's clothes off. Camila calls the house and tells Hipolito to get some oral or intravenous "suero" (which apparently in this context means some sort of rehydration solution) because Daniel has caught the virus.

Hipolito reports the phone call to Piedad.  She's appalled that he's infected because it means any one of them could catch it.  Hipolito remembers Daniel cutting himself on the test tube and tells Piedad to go grab Rodolfo, who was also there, and have him tell Camila what happened while Hipolito goes to get the solution.

Miriam continues listening as Dante tells Amanda and Natalia that for a long time they thought that Daniel died in the prison escape attempt.  It must have been quite an odyssey.  Natalia remembers that when he arrived, he called himself "Andres Duarte."  None of them ever imagined it was Daniel, the owner of the ranch.  Amanda remembers realizing he was Agatha's son when she saw his reaction to the picture of Agatha and Amanda together when they were young.  She was shocked when Daniel told her that someone had tried to kill him so he couldn't claim his inheritance.  That was why he had to enter Mexico illegally, being a fugitive from Chilean justice.  Miriam has had too much and starts to stumble out as Dante is saying that now that he knows Daniel is alive and now that Miriam is alive, the two of them need to get on with their lives and he needs to get back to his job.

Outside, Miriam stumbles along, dropping the cookies.

Ana and Refugio are on hand to welcome Rocio to Pablo and Luzma's house.  Rocio is grateful and starts to cry that she doesn't deserve it.  Luzma offers her a piece of cake and Refugio helps lead her into the dining room.  Rocio's already been hooked up with a motorized scooter…ridin' in style!  I've realized I stopped thinking of her as "Snotty Bitch."  She's really mellowed after the stroke.  Not that I'd mind if she whipped out a little Snotty Bitch action on Isadora's skanky ass…maybe she can run her over with the scooter.  I can dream.  Ana teases her father about wanting a piece of cake and he says Teresa probably wants some cake, too.  Yeah…some beefcake…but Ana would rather she not stay for what's supposed to be a "family" dinner.  After all, Teresa's not "family" and she never will be.  "I'm not being rude!  It's the truth!"  Teresa offers to leave and Mariano walks her to the door, then turns on Ana, telling her she's being rude to Teresa when Teresa has been nothing but attentive to her grandmother.  He refuses to allow Ana to be rude to anyone and demands she call Teresa and apologize.

Rodolfo gets called on the carpet for not telling Camila right away about Daniel cutting his hand.  His excuse is that Daniel said it was nothing and he'd be fine once he washed his hands.  Pfft!  Boys always say that…"It's fine! I don't need to disinfect it!  I don't need a Band Aid!"  And then they end up getting infected by bizarre incurable cow diseases.  Let that be a lesson to you!  Piedad pats Rodolfo on the shoulder and says they'll pray.  A lot.

The doctor is about 90% sure he's got cabrex, but he needs to take a sample to be sure.  His heartbeat is racing, his fever is high, and his lungs are getting congested.  The doctor says everyone who's been hanging around the ranch needs to be tested to make sure they haven't been infected.  Is it wrong of me to wish Dio was infected?  The doctor warns that if they don't get the vaccine in under 72 hours, Daniel will die.  Camila has a nervous breakdown and attempts to cure Daniel with nothing but the power of her fury and desperation.  It doesn't work, but at least she gets to fondle his bare chest a little.

Miriam comes home.  Caridad notices she looks pale, but Miriam brushes it off and says she's going to go rest.

Aaron pulls Camila off of Daniel and she calms down and apologizes.  The doctor offers to take Daniel to the hospital, but Camila would rather keep him there and care of him herself.  The doctor reminds her they need to take all possible precautions---gloves, face masks--and use the intravenous serum to keep the fever down while they wait for a miracle.  Since he'd been in contact with his wife and daughter (and Caridad!  Don't forget Caridad!) they need to be tested to make sure they haven't contracted the virus.  Aaron and Rafa offer to go talk to Miriam while the doctor starts running tests on everyone at the ranch.  He's pretty sure Daniel caught it buy cutting his hand on the test tube, but he'll test everyone just in case Daniel had actually caught it before then.  Rafa will take care of telling Vivi so she can get tested.

Miriam is desperately trying to reach Abraham.  She agrees to leave a message with someone to have Abraham call his sister.  She ponders what she overheard Dante say and realizes Abraham lied to her and Daniel had been on the run from the law for her "murder."  She can't understand why they're not telling her the truth.  Caridad comes to tell her that Rafael is there to see her.  Miriam figures that Rafa must know the truth and she's determined he'll tell her.

Camila talks to an unconscious Daniel.  This isn't how she wanted him to leave her alone forever.  She reminds him he has to live for his wife and daughter.  Camila begs God not to let Daniel die for what amounts to him having been sent there to help her.  Agustina comes to see how Camila and Daniel are doing.  She starts harping on how he should be in the hospital.  What she really came to say was that they will have test results in the morning.  Camila asks Agustina for a favor.  "You're a woman of faith, a woman God listens to, so please pray to Him and ask that Daniel not die.  Tell him that I swear if he lives I'll let him go.  I won't make a scene.  I'll let him go with Miriam and his daughter, but, please don't let him die."  Agustina tearfully agrees she'll ask.

Rafa introduces Aaron to Miriam.  She asks to speak to Rafa, but maybe later, since she doesn't want Daniel to interrupt them.  She figures he'll be home any minute now.  Rafa asks her if she knows about the virus and says he's sorry to have to tell her this, but Daniel contracted the virus.  Aaron tells her that he's at La Malquerida, being cared for by Camila and he's under quarantine until they find a vaccine.  Miriam demands that Rafa take her to the ranch, but he says it's too dangerous. He tells her that he also came to pick up her and Agatha to take them to the hospital for testing.  Aaron tells her they need to hurry, because if they're infected they also need to be under quarantine.

Tomorrow: Dio and Isa gloat; Miriam goes to the cabin; Camila has to perform CPR on Daniel.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if Miriam is still alive and kicking after spending the whole afternoon upset, I'm pretty sure she can handle the truth. It may be painful, but now that she knows that Abraham lied to her, lied to Daniel, and had him imprisoned unjustly, I think she'd be able to understand why he would have moved on. It doesn't make the situation any less sticky, but it's far more understandable than "Yeah, you were in a coma and she was just...there, and...come on, baby, you know how it is."

Today is Mr. 5ft's birthday (yay!) for which I spent all day working on a fabulous cake, which he still hasn't seen, so I still can't post the step-by-step blog post with pictures. He only has an hour of birthday left in this time zone, so he'd better get around to wanting some cake already!

http://5ftlatina.com/sweets/i-find-your-lack-of-cakedisturbing/

We're go for cake!

I'm with you 5ft!!!Give it to her! She can handle it!!! No more dilly dallying. I think, Daniel only got the baby's virus. And he'll be up and about. How's that for positive thinking!
I am appalled by the freeloader what's her name?
I like that Mariano won't tolerate bad manners and gave Ana a lesson on manners.
and lastly, Happy birthday 5ft husband.

FR Vida2

Men can be so clueless! Thank you for a great recap 5ft Latina and happy birthday to the Mr.
I've been in Cami's place before telling a guy what torture it was to be near him when we couldn't be together and he didn't get it either!
I'm so happy Miriam overheard that conversation, that was exactly the first truth I thought she should know, that her brother is a douche that accused Dan of killing his wife. That should explain to Miriam why Dan seems so at home in Mexico. Not happy about Dan being sick though. I'm not sure how this dilemma is going to affect the Cami, Dan and Mir love triangle.

That was a 5 star recap, 5-footer! I was laughing all the way through. Thank you! And happy b-day to your mister!

“Piedad comes looking for Camila to tell her the guys from the health department are there, but she runs into Daniel instead. He prepares to break his word by going to get Camila.” Promises, shromishes, right, Dan-o? Who pays any attention to silly, pesky promises, anyhoo?

“Ana is determined they'll both have moms, even if it means she has to get her dad to adopt Roman. And won't that make an interesting telenovela twenty years from now.” LOL!

“Love Potion #9” OMG, what a blast from the past!

I didn't know if it was day or night
I started kissin' everything in sight
But when I kissed that cop down at Thirty-Fourth and Vine
He broke my little bottle of Love Potion No. 9

I’m a fan of Padre Anselmo, and I think his advice to both Rocio and Vivi has been correct, but geeze and criminy, could he hit his poor victims, um, parishioners, with the cold, heavy sledge hammer of truth any harder?

“Aaron asks what will happen if someone else contracts the virus. Well, duh, Aaron, that would suck, big time.” *snicker* Aaron, however, could stand a few whacks on the head with that aforementioned sledge hammer.

Uh oh. Miriam lost her cookies. :)

I liked how Mariano made it very clear to Ana that her rudeness was unacceptable. That was sledge hammering, Mariano style.

“And then they end up getting infected by bizarre incurable cow diseases.” Boyz. *eyeroll* Whaddaya gonna do?

Lily, I've been there, too. The guy didn't get it. What's funny is that Camila didn't get it when Mariano didn't want to come to her wedding, either. Now the table is turned.

Kinda off topic, I am trying to reread recaps for Guapos but they don't seem to be working.. Is there an error or were they deleted?

Kat- For some reason Explorer isn't letting me go to the cake site, but I'm sure it was delicious. Mr. 5 Ft. is luck to have you. And we're lucky to have your witty recaps each week.

Camila may not have liked Mariano ending their friendship because he couldn't be around her, but she respected it. He's the one who ended up texting her on her honeymoon, and then came looking for her when he found out about Miriam, not the other way around. She never went looking for him when he said he couldn't take being in her company.

However, I did very much enjoy Teresa getting a taste of her own medicine when Ana told her the unvarnished truth, with a huge dash of self interest, just like she did to Cam in the hospital the other week. But I'm glad Mariano put his foot down and let Ana know that behavior is unacceptable.

Yay! Miriam knows a good chunk of the truth now. The writers really messed with us for a second there when it looked like she was about to collapse, but instead just lost her cookies. :) Surely it won't be long now before she finds out or realizes that there is something between Camila and Dan.

That's some cake, Kat! I am one of the biggest chocoholics you know.

Why the hell didn't that doctor pull rank and just have Daniel moved to a hospital? At this point if I were Camila I would be concerned that El Diablo would take advantage of the situation since -- despite the lack of proof -- he was obviously the one to send the hired killer to Chile months ago.

In fact, why doesn't she suspect him yet? How else could this virus be killing her bulls if not put there deliberately?

Obviously El Diablo and Hissadora haven't been watching Law & Order (which is on Mexican TV) or they would know that their phone records and transcripts of their texts are retrievable.

Points to Mariano for the lesson in manners that Ana desperately needed.

I completely agree with the above: Miriam can handle the truth. But with Daniel unconscious, who is going to tell her?

Vivi, who is in whose brain today?

LOL Urban! This early in the morning, sometimes we need to share brains, as individual brains aren't quite functioning yet.

I don't think Camila has had lots of time to think outside of the box about where the virus came from, and she's just in survival mode right now. She has been thinking of all the usual sources of the virus, but it would take quite a leap of thinking to suspect that someone moved heaven and earth, and paid a LOT of money, to buy a virus to kill off your livestock and cripple you financially.

5 Ft. I always look forward to your recaps and you never disappoint. And, birthday greetings to el Senor 5 ft.

I hope that Irene and Tolentino can be the one couple without problems and anvils. They are so sweet and innocent looking.

Novela medicine strikes again, I think. The virus has to be injected into the blood stream directly, no? Daniel got it from the broken vial (assuming he has the virus). The bulls are getting from the water. Camila tells us that humans should not pick it up from each other through casual contact. So, are the bulls getting to from casual contact? Or, from direct exposure through the water or contact with each others' bodily effluents (sorry, this is both gross and way too technical for novela watching!)
I'm just trying to figure out how it would spread from one ranch to another if the contagion isn't air-borne.

The scene between Agustina and Camila was very touching. Agustina is indeed a fair-weather mother, but she does love her daughter. SN has been great through all of this. Her pain is so clear and hard to watch.

Well Rocio sure gave her blessing to the Mariano/Teresa pairing. Combined with Roman, that would be an interesting telenovela of the future.

What has Ileana got in mind by way of revenge? Thusfar, all she does is huff'n'puff, but they're keeping her around for some reason.

I've just about had it with Padre "Phil"'s pronouncements; they may be astute, but those are the sorts of observations you write in your case study. You don't clobber the patient with harsh judgements. And Rafa is starting to bug me big time. He's cute and all, but clearly NOT marriage material until he sorts out his own script. Life's no novel.

Poor Norma Herrera (Rocio) still hasn't figured out which side of her face is paralyzed. She's talking out of both sides of her mouth, just not at the same time.

I, too, thought Miriam's "annie" was about to pop as she staggered down the steps of the hostal where the entire subterfuge had been neatly laid out for her unsuspecting ears.

And finally, muchas gracias to you Kat for bringing us thsi stupendous recap replete with quotables. Your Darth Vader cake looks fabulous and I join the rest of our gang in wishing Mr. 5ft: !feliz cumple!—Agnes

Kat, always looking forward to your hilarious recap—makes my Friday brighter. Happy belated birthday to Mr. 5ft!

I love, love Camilla last night; she was strong and decisive, even when her world was completely upside down, she wasn’t weeping like she was last week. That’s the Camilla I want to see. I don’t like that she promised to give him up if he survives.

What was up with Hippolito saying the “other day” while Daniel was referring to “last night”—was that time passing by again like when they suddenly aged Agatha to three months while the events do not support the leap in time?

I like Mariano for the first time when he was being firm with Ana – I don’t know it seems that I like Rene Stickler better when he’s been strong not mooning over some girl.

Teresa meets Karma – not so pleasant.

Finally, Miriam gets to share some pain – it was unfair that only Dan and Cam were suffering.

Dan looked sick when he and Cam were talking to the Health Sanitation guys; he was twitching and slurring his words.

Am I the only that finds Miriam making this revelation all about her? Abe lied to ME—Daniel wasn’t with ME during the coma—why did everyone keep the truth from ME? She never once said how tragic that must have been for DANIEL or something in that line.

Myo-

Good morning everybody and Happy Birthday to Mr. 5ft.

Just wanted to put out this spoiler alert. If you get the latest issue of TVyNovelas (Lucero is on the cover again), beware of page 114, next to the picture of Isadora. There are some little spoilers, but not about the Cam-Dan-Mir love triangle. Looks like there will be a lot of excitement in the coming episodes!

Unfortunately, that magazine is notorious for spoilers. The issue that covers the novela awards results is often out on the newsstands before that program airs here. The synopses of the programs often contains spoilers for the next three episodes.

I think the reason for this is that the modular pages created for this information are published in each country's edition at roughly the times corresponding to the episodes' airdates. If a program that debuted in Mexico on a Monday debuted in Columbia on a Tuesday, and in Venezuela on a Wednesday, and their pre-emptions occur on different dates, this is an easy path to spoilers.

That's what their ad sales rep told me a few years ago.

Thanks for a great recap, 5ft., and happy birthday to Mr.

5ft., love your idea of Rocio running over the new Senora Alberran with her scooter:)

So glad Miriam finally heard what Abe did to her and Dan. I agree that if she can handle that without leaving this world, then she can handle the whole truth and probably understand how Dan and Cami got together.

I'm with Viviana on her desire to adopt Roman and agree with Aaron it's evidence of her good heart.

So once again, Dan is at death's door. I think he was starting to question who this anonymous caller was reporting the virus just before he collapsed.

What I'd really like to see happen is Camila knocking off Dio by the end of this TN. Then he can see how the object of his sick fantasies really feels about him:)

And I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if Dan and Miriam did actually have sex, then Miriam would come down with the virus too, bodily fluid exchanges and all that. So far she seems pretty healthy to me.

Thus far I think we've only had one example of a protagonist offing a villain in a manner that wasn't accidental... in CME. Since this is the same production team we may see that happen now. I'd love for Camila to off El Diablo in self-defense.

There have been many accidents resulting in villain deaths that were the result of fights or car chases, but somehow I would feel better if at least occasionally we could have a self-defense situation.

Dan and Mir had sex (or didn't) before he cut himself. He just cut himself the morning he came back sans Charro suit and Camila gave him the heave ho. He slept with Miriam (or didn't) the day he was duded up in his charro suit.

I agree, UA. That would work, having Camila offing Dio in self defense. Then there wouldn't be any threat of a murder charge hanging over her head. I really do hope the writers agree (or agreed, rather, since it's already a done deal filming wise.)

Thanks Kat, very well done and very funny. A couple of line I enjoyed:

Pfft! Boys always say that… And then they end up getting infected by bizarre incurable cow diseases."

" Camila has a nervous breakdown and attempts to cure Daniel with nothing but the power of her fury and desperation. It doesn't work, but at least she gets to fondle his bare chest a little."

Good stuff.

Happy birthday to Señor Five Foot.

As for doubts about the intimacy thing, I believe that Miriam announced to Caridad that things had gotten back to normal between her and Dan like they were before in Chile.

Agnes, I agree with you about the Padre.

Carlos

Thanks for the recap Kat. I hope Mr. 5ft enjoys his B-day and the cake.

Agnes - ITA w/you about up-to-now useless Ilena. I think she will be the one who exposes Iago as a fraud maritally and any other way she can. As you said, the writers are keeping her there for a reason and that's the only one I can come up with in spite of her being inept.

Glad Miriam survived the news. Now she needs to learn EVERYTHING.

Cam stating she'll give up Dan will be another obstacle/anvil that will complicate their reunion (guess on my part).

Glad Mariano put Anna in her place.

Actually, that will be her one useful function because only Ileana knows everything about Iagho.... except that El Diablo is blackmailing him. I think he was either too afraid or too embarrassed to give her any details on that.

He needs to pay.

Just what we needed. "Poor" Dan gets sick & of course Cami's in panic mode and will be there by his side to take care of him. Ugh!!! That just gets me so mad! Now this bull crisis is all about him. That's bull-

Poor Miriam! She's suffering all because of him. (Great performance from her, by the way, on the previous episode where she tells Dan off.) And now he gets stupidly ill all because he couldn't stay away from Cami. I'm just really disappointed at the direction that this storyline is taking.

I actually applauded when Ana (that's the little girl's name, right?) said those mean things to Teresa. She got what she deserved! If only Mariano knew what she said to Cami 'cuz that should make him pissed that she's interfering with his attempts to be with her.

And another thing, that Rafa is now totally a jerkwad who's getting a little too out of hand with the relationship. And it really irritates me that every guy, like the priest & Dr. Phil, is pinning the blame on Vivi. It's always "Vivi's fault." SHE should think about Rafa's feelings. SHE should try to see it from his point of view, SHE...

Not cool. What about her then? By the way, it's not even that big a deal as Rafa making it out to be. He's so EXAGGERATING on this! He's just so mad that she said no to him. He just couldn't accept no for an answer. And that's another thing. She didn't tell him about adopting the kid BECAUSE of that fight between them. So why didn't she say that?! And then he decided to take a trip while things weren't resolved yet between them.

And also, the thing he said, that she has this idea in her head about her expecting him to be a certain way is bulls***! HE'S the one saying it! Not her! HE'S the one getting all sorts of ideas in his head because of his stupid ego & lame skills as a writer. My point is that he's really making a big fuss about this & I'm glad she walked out on him afterwards 'cuz it's pretty clear at this point that their relationship isn't gonna work if he's gonna get so huffy about it.

And what the hell, Cami? Why MUST you have Dan in your bedroom? WHY CAN'T YOU TAKE HIM TO A HOSPITAL WHERE OTHER PPL *COUGH. COUGH. THE EXPERTS* CAN TAKE CARE OF HIM??? Now Sleeping Ugly gets a cop-out from all of this mess while both Miriam & Cami have to suffer. Realize that this is his second thim he does this. Everytime Cami breaks up with him, he falls ill or something bad happens to him so that she has to rush back to his side & cry out her love to him! So weak & pathetic - AND LAME! And so annoying. Like when he got shot, he just couldn't stay in the hospital & so somehow he got out of there, went to the cabin just to see Cami & then she couldn't turn him away because he conveniently collapsed at her bed, so then she had to take care of him & because she wanted to, obviously. Why did I say all this? Lol, I rambled off with my rant of the day. I just really hate Dan.

Vivi, just to be clear and so as not to disparage my old flame, when I said he ‘didn’t get it’, I didn’t mean that he didn’t respect my wishes. He just didn’t understand them. Neither did Camila when she invited Mariano to her wedding. That is what I was referring to. Dan, of course, is a whole 'nother story, but all snark aside, I do understand why he wanted to be around to talk to the inspectors. And even though he was sick, he had the sense to be suspicious of the anonymous phone call. Camila does need his help, though I totally understand how hard it must be to be around him.

Myo, yes, I also noticed that Miriam’s reaction is ALL about her. You might think she would immediately think of her beloved Daniel unfairly imprisoned and then on the lam and enduring horrible hardships, but her brain just doesn’t seem to be wired that way. She’s got more important stuff to think about, like herself.

TL, very interesting questions about exactly how many ways this virus is supposed to be transmitted. So far we have via drinking water, blood, and air (since they are wearing masks). I just hope it can’t jump out of tv sets or we are all in trouble. Of course, if you are feeling faint, it may just be that your beanie is on too tight.

Our Vivi is right and Hippopotamus (or whatever) is wrong about when Dan cut his hand. It happened on the same day that he fainted, so Miriam’s risk of exposure is pretty minimal. However, what I think could happen is that because Miriam exchanged bodily fluids with Dan, she will be freaking out about her test results. When they come back negative, she’ll blab to Camila about how worried she was because of the sexy time she had with Dan. That is how Camila will find out that he broke that promise to her and it will be another dagger in her heart. I hope that I am wrong, but I am afraid it could happen.

I think it is great that Vivi wants to adopt Roman, but I totally see Rafa’s point that it has to be a decision that they make together and that the timing is not right. Adopting a kid is a HUGE decision and those two have a lot to sort out before they are ready to be parents. Roman will be fine in the orphanage for a little while longer. There is no need to rush.

I'm rather looking forward to the Iliana-Isadora matchup. Just think of the all the fun two of them will have living under one roof - until Isa squashes her like a bug.

The actress playing Ana is excellent, as opposed to the boy playing Roman--I can't stand the monotonous way he says all his lines, and his lack of personality makes the whole "Viviana wants to adopt him" plot so unlikely.

But the character Ana really got on my nerves today, with her outright rudeness to Teresa. Mariano did a pretty good parenting job--but I wish he had insisted to Teresa that she stay so that Ana didn't see her rudeness paying off, and that he'd given Ana some real consequences.

Vaccines aren't cures, right? On the other hand, I realize Daniel needs a miracle cure, and it would overcomplicate things to have the good guys searching for both a vaccine and a cure. So I guess I'll cheer in an episode or two when they inject Daniel with a vaccine intended to prevent lifestock from becoming sick with cabrex and not approved for humans and he miraculously recovers.

And in Miriam's defense, I think it's a huge shock to find that every single person around you is lying to you. Yes, the truth itself is shocking, and it happens to imply that Daniel went through something truly horrible, but at this point she's just assimilating the fact that she's living in a BizarroWorld where everyone is lying to her about important things. That kind of thing tends to make you paranoid.

Carolina- "Of course, if you are feeling faint, it may just be that your beanie is on too tight." LOL! I would say you might be pregnant, but this tn hasn't gone the route of pregnancy fainting spells.

Glad to hear your guy didn't turn into a stalker like Dan has. I agree that Dan is actually helpful to Cam. Not with the bulls stuff (obvio, since he stupidly got himself infected). But he's always been able to take a step back to be suspicious of the bad guys and to ask questions. Cam is more of an "in the moment" kind of person, so her mind doesn't immediately go to thinking about evil plots and such. Dan was definitely on the right track when he asked who could have made that phone call.

I don't know if this has occurred to anyone else, but if Daniel ended up in the hospital in Aculco does anyone else think that El Diablo would escalate his blackmail on the doctor to get him to kill him?

That's a line I can't imagine that doctor crossing.

Urban- I don't think it would be Miriam's brain doctor treating Dan, so Dio would have to find a whole new doc to bribe or blackmail. The doc who came out to see Dan is the same one who took care of Cam when she was gored and a few other of our peeps when they were injured. He seems like a good guy.

Wouldn't Dan be too contagious for the hospital ward thereby requiring him to be quarantined- which is Cam volunteered her cabin and her care in the first place?

Myo- I think you're right about why the doc accepted Dan being quarantined in Cam's Cabin, as opposed to having to shut off a part of the Metepec hospital to take care of one (for now)patient with a rare illness.

Shouldn't all hospitals be equipped with facilities for patients with severe pathogens? Not to mention hazmat gear to protect the medical personnel?

Said gear should cover more than what Camila is wearing.

Muchas gracias, Kat, for a terrific recap, and for your two previous recaps. I've just returned from a two-week trip during which I wasn't able to comment. And belated thanks, too, to UA, Paquita, Mena, and Jardinera, for all your wonderful work while I was away.

Kat, the comments I wanted to offer have already been made by others, so I'll just say muchas gracias otra vez y feliz cumpleaños to el señor 5-pie.

Kat: thanks for the recap. Loved these lines:

“And won't that make an interesting telenovela twenty years from now.”

“ The guys wrestle Daniel into Camila's bed…no, not like that…”

“Aaron asks what will happen if someone else contracts the virus. Well, duh, Aaron, that would suck, big time.”---Aaron can be a bit naïve.

“Rocio's already been hooked up with a motorized scooter…ridin' in style! I've realized I stopped thinking of her as ‘Snotty Bitch.’ She's really mellowed after the stroke. Not that I'd mind if she whipped out a little Snotty Bitch action on Isadora's skanky ass…maybe she can run her over with the scooter. I can dream. “

“Pfft! Boys always say that…"It's fine! I don't need to disinfect it! I don't need a Band Aid!" And then they end up getting infected by bizarre incurable cow diseases. Let that be a lesson to you!”

Girl, you are on a roll!!!

“He suspects she's so afraid of screwing up her relationship with Rafa that she's pushing him away on purpose.”---I’m thinking that the padre and Aaron are on the wrong track here. It’s obvious that Rafa and Vivi are not on the same page regarding really important issues. Maybe they really aren’t right for each other.

I’ve been meaning to mention this for a while, but does anyone else think that Ana has matured a little in looks from when we first saw her? One time she went away a little girl and came back a young lady.

Maybe Dan has the flu. Someone mentioned that before. That he might have gotten sick from Budgekin.

Miriam, so far, seems to be handling an awful lot of bad news fine.

Now onto the second fun part of my day—reading everybody’s comments.

UA: “they would know that their phone records and transcripts of their texts are retrievable.”—I was thinking the same thing.

I think when Cam finds out that Dio poisoned her cattle she’s going to shoot him. I would like that very very much.

Happy birthday to Mr. 5 Ft. My birthday is next week and one of the gifts I gave to myself is the CME theme as my cell ringtone.

Kudos to the music department for the "aneurysm pop" sound effects when Miriam got the news. It really had the flavor and even brought back memories. However, in reality the "aneurysm pop" is a gentle sound, as if a chiropractor were cracking your neck. (The neurosurgeon told me that the "sound" occurs when the blood from the rupture first hits tissue.) Of course, the next sensations are not so gentle.

I usually FF through the credits, but I love it when Rocio snaps her fan at the perfect place in the music.

I realize that we are a bit overwhelmed with medical problems right now what with Miriam's aneurysm, Rocio's stroke, a feverish Agatha, sick and dying cows, Cayetano being poisoned, and now a comatose Dan... but did anyone else hear Natalia mention her sudden increased thirst? She's pregnant so someone needs to be checking her blood sugar.

Carlos

Carlos, yes, I noticed that and thought it was odd. Or significant.

Carlos- That would be too much medical drama. But the gestational diabetes thing isn't way out there, since every time a character says they want water, they are referring to "agua fresca" (i.e. a sugary, fruity beverage), including Nat who poured herself a tall glass of red liquid (likely jamaica/hibiscus) as she said it.

I don't think Dio would take the chance of trying to find someone at the hospital to "off" Daniel (if he had been taken there). He was strongly against doing anything like that to Padre Baldomero or Alonso, although when Isa took it upon herself he backed off (since he wasn't directly involved). But he DID tell her it was a stupid idea to try it herself (Baldomero) or deal with someone (Rosario) she didn't know well. He's good at keeping his own hands clean.

Soyyo

Ay, Carlos, always thinking like a doctor (or a voyeur of Gardenia-types).

Señora Cinco Pie (thanks Juanita)--glad you saved the cake. He looked quite menacing. I have some cocoanut flour and have used some in making bread--interesting flavor. Hope you and el Señor celbrate in style.

And gracias for the recap--agree that MM can handle the truth, but no one saw her handling it and everyone will continue to treat her with kid gloves and get very upset when she gets mad at Abe, Dante & Dan.

Vida2--Freeloader is Iliana. Yep, she's around for a reason and that reason has to be for run-ins with Hissy. Can we expect more than verbal cat-fights (hope, hope)? Or maybe, she'll be redeemed by uncovering Hissy's vileness.

Ay Dan, you look so peaceful in your repose. I'm willing to repose right next to you, but you'll have to move over just a bit so I can put my head on your chest and your arm around me.

He's unresponsive, so is he still fainted away or is this a coma. You'd think we'd see a little sweat on his brow. And, wouldn't that be contagious, too? My bet is on the flu, regardless of what the good doc says, but that wouldn't be quite as exciting as having to find and get an antidote as the minutes tick down on the death clock.

@~ posted by the one & only, not-a-dan-fan ;)--I'm actually enjoying your rants a lot. It certainly gives us Dan Fans a different perspective. And you are funny, too. Ana was a little snot to Teresa, but I sort of have to agree with you--she's got Teresa's number and she's going to do everything she can for her dad NOT to hook up with her. For some reason Teresa looked like a scheming skinny broad in a too tight, too short skirt last night.

More @not a fan--Dan's being in the cabaña is actually safer for him (and for plot development). In a hospital, Cam and her peeps would not be able to be with him 24/7--too much opportunity for Issay & Dio to get to him and eliminate him, so I'm all for his staying in the cabaña. Miriam won't be able to harangue him about the prison stuff either.

More @not a fan--Oh, and not everyone is prepared to adopt an 11-year-old child, when he's not very mature himself (speaking of Rafa now). But, Viviana is building an ideal scenario in her head and didn't lay the groundwork very well. Although Rafa knew very well how attached she was to Roman, he was taken by surprise at her announcement that he was going to be part of them, big heart or not. I can see how he would want to start out just married or together for awhile and then when they are ready to adopt a baby or toddler. These two are just not communicating very well.

We musn't forget that before the bull stuff, Dan was trying to get into Alonso's e-mails. I guess that will have to wait.

I wonder if in the middle of all this LeoSordo is going to make his break. Just one more thing for Cami to have to worry about.

I'm looking forward to more Cam-Dio confrontations if and when they get the vaccine. What'll he do next....

Camila certainly thinks a lot of herself. If I were that sick, I'd want a doctor, not a veterinarian. And I'd want to be in a hospital with medicines, defibrillators, and other good stuff.

But, but, but, but ... only Camila has that Tackle Box of Miracle Cures for Man and Beast!

5 Ft. - Hilarious recap as always!Great job and Happy BD to the Mister! Tell him it's the unexpected benefit to your work as a recapper - all sorts of internet people wishing him Happy Bday.

Carolina and Aleta - great comments... so true, the tackle box full of miracle cures

@ Anita --but Cami's not a doctor. She should let THEM take care of him & also 'cuz it isn't a wise thing to do. Remember, she's supposed to work on keeping her distance from him & she's not thinking about the wife, who by the way needed to be informed about this 'cuz doesn't she have a say on this? And also, she has more rights to be on his husband's side. Like, hello Cami??? Don't you think she'd be raising her sharp eyebrow at you with your constantly being close to him? You're always showing up & you're all he ever talks about these days. C'mon, girl! Put your head in the game!

And about the whole keeping Dan safe from the evil ones intending to do him harm - c'mon! Really? Don't hospitals have tight security? Can't they just not let anybody but FAMILY members (*cough. cough. the wife & the baby*) visit him?

As for the excuse that Rafa is giving to Vivi - that's bull. Realize how touchy he's being as he tells her this reason. Like, why are you getting so mad? She hasn't even adopted the kid yet & you're accusing her of not telling you, but that's why she's saying it to you right now! Gosh! And SHE'S building an ideal scenario in her head? What about you? You expected her to say yes & get married to you! Isn't that being so ideal of you? Seriously, he could've just calmly tell her all this without getting so worked up about it.

And I'm not liking the "advice" both the priest & aaron are giving her. They don't really get what's going on. They're just assuming the wrong things & think this has to do with her fears, which does not. And I don't like how they're making her feel that it IS her fault, because it's NOT!

Anyway, thanks for replying to my post.

@~ not-a-dan-fan ;) In real life, I would agree that hospitals have pretty good security. However, not in telenovelas. Look what happened to Rogelio in LQNPA. He nearly died and was left permanently paralyzed.

Aaron & Rafa did go to tell MM what had happened, but don't want her to go near him, at least until after her tests and takes bio-hazard suit-up precautions. I'm sure she'll get there. The more she sees Dan 'n Cam together, the sooner she'll figure out there is something connecting those two--like a church wedding....

Like I said (and you, too) Rafa and Vivi are just not communicating very well. Each has his/her own script and doesn't want to deviate for nothin'.

See you in the morning.

Oh, and earlier right here on AB, Hissy tried to do in the Padre but someone caught her in his hospital room, so she had to resort to smothering him at the Hostal.

Oh, and Cami's a vet--and that Dan is quite a Stallion (as opposed to Alonso as Komodo Dragon, Jr.), so maybe her training will transfer.

Speaking of the safety and security of hospitals, don't forget that Alonzo's mom injected him with the potassium taken from the medicine cabinet. So, hospitals are safer in some, not all cases.

Remember the last time Dan was sick at Cam's Vet Clinic for Man & Beast and Dan was trying to kiss up to her for all the lying he'd been doing (there's a pattern here) and he told her he could tell that she loved him because of the way she took care of him. Then she told him "Look, I'm a veterinarian and I take care of you just the same as the animals" (or something very similar). I thought that was hysterical. Poor Dan, smacked down big time.

This time I think it's going to be the power of luuurve that pulls him through, and maybe something miraculous in that tackle box.

In general, I don't think you can expect the same level of security and privacy in hospitals in other countries that we have these days in the US. At least, I certainly wouldn't expect it in Mexico.

Carolina, you crack me up, completely!

@ Anita --i know that they did tell Miriam & that she has to get herself checked first to know if she's infected as well, but what i'm saying is that everyone seems to forget that she's the wife & that she should be the one at her husband's side & not Cami. And also, Cami's not a doc, so what business does she have taking care of her husband in her BEDROOM & not a hospital? Sure, he fainted at her place, but they could've simply taken him to the hospital like any normal person would. Right? Cami should just focus on her own business, which is the LMQ, & let the doctors do their job 'cuz that's what they do & simply hope for the best. That's all I'm sayin'.

And I think Vivi & Rafa should just break up.

@ Caroline -- lol, ur "power of love" statement got me thinking of Celine Dion's song, "the power of loooove....!" and I have a feeling that's exactly what's gonna happen soon in these upcoming episodes.

@ Anita -- yeah, you're right, the hospitals are crappy as hell in tv novelas. Sad that Rogelio didn't get to walk again. Gosh, and now you got me thinking of Alonso's death. So sad. :( Gosh, so many ppl didn't deserve to die & yet Dan still continues to live! :/
