Telemundo y más: week of March 4, 2013

Telemundo's 10pm/9c show, El rostro de la venganza, is slogging towards its gory finish line.  The date of the final episode hasn't been announced nor has Telemundo named its replacement.  Will El señor de los cielos be ready to fill the slot?  The promos boast that the new novela is coming muy pronto.

UniMás has announced that its 9pm/8c Colombian drama, Made in Cartagena, is also coming to a close.   Again, we have no date for a final episode.  Anyone know what will replace it?

A gentle reminder: NO SPOILERS please.  If something hasn't actually happened in an episode, we don't talk about it here.

Enjoy your page and your week!

LA PATRONA

It seems as if a year has passed because David and Antonia are back from Paris. David's become even more of a snot than he was before he left. Antonia's latest plan is to marry him off to Valentina, her step-daughter, because the girl is loaded. I guess she never is going to learn her lesson that HER arranged marriages are amazing flops.

Antonia is completel indifferent to her granddaughter Lucia. Even cold-fish Irene doesn't like her failure to greet the kid upon her return from Paris.

I find David's treatment of Max unforgiveable. He apparently has no memory of his uncle saving him from the bullies when they were at the same school.

They teased the hell out of Viewerville by never showing Gabriela as she made great strides in her New York makeover. But they did show a bit of her hair. Not blonde.

OK, they want her to be sophisticated, but French and Italian?

Gastón looks very well put together now, with his hair gelled back. I guess he's not drinking anymore either.

Lucho is being shown as the voice of reason, frequently saying that a life based only on a thirst for revenge is not a good one.

Alejandro apparently has continued his clandestine meetings with Patti, who's head over heels for her brother-in-law. At the gathering where the sleazeball Aníbal Villegas announces his candidacy for President of Mexico, Patti is pleading for double divorces and that she and Ale get together.

Macario now has a hacienda as his reward for multiple murders on the behalf of Loba #1.

Alberto is still Antonia's "tension reliever", but he's only going through the motions, because she noticed a lack of enthusiasm. And he called some other woman right after she left the hotel room!

LA PATRONA

Doctora Vampira is working in some kind of neighborhood clinic [!!]. But she appears to be doing well financially, apparently still getting payoffs from the people she blackmailed with the files she took away. She made no effort to save any patients from burning, but those files what mattered to her as the manicomio burned up.

Thanks for the recap Novelera. I am so intrigued by this novela...however, I find I'm understanding less and less of it without the recaps because everyone except Ale, Irene, and Patricia does not enunciate. I never understand a word that Ricardo says or Alberto for that matter.

Gaby is still in love with Ale because the way she slammed that book when Lucho tried to talk to her about Ale said she is so not over him yet.
She's gonna end up revealing herself to Ale because she hasn't worked out her feelings toward him yet.

How is it that MADE IN CARTAGENA is in ultimos capitulos???? I never say this, but I'm not ready for this one to be over! It seems like there's so much to be reconciled!

La Patrona -

thanks so much for your comments novelera !!

I am still wary of Lucho, he may be loyal to Gabriela and may indeed love her, but,
if this doesn't work out..., which way will he turn?

he is an interesting character for sure, he is the kind of guy that makes you want to get a good grip on your purse when he is around, and I think things like love, loyalty, and such, are all new to him, that he has always been on his own, and this Gabriela person has shown him a side of life he has never seen before,
and he does enjoy playing life to it's fullest.

when little Lucia went to Antonia for a hug, and Antonia walked right past her like she wasn't there, wow...,
no doubts about the true Antonia, and even Irene saw it.

interesting that Prudencia's affair with Lagarto has revealed the story of Constanza and given her an insight into her husband's business affairs, hmm..., where will this go?

it looked like Anibal went to New York, and...
later on it looks like everyone in smallville has excepted the fact that Gabriela and Constanza are dead.

yes, it does appear when Gabriela reveals her new look to Gaston, and her hair is dark.
(but I saw a promo Friday, a still, her hair was blonde, she was beautiful)

interesting that the private detectives were so thorough, even getting a picture of Alejandro and Patti making love,
maybe Gabriela left some things out of the report for Constanza,

so does Julio have a new baby?
those glasses he wears,
they make his face look pointed, like a weasel,

and I agree novelera, Antonia's arranged marriages are...
this woman is really obsessed with controlling everything,

Anibal announcing his run for president at the club, even Gertrudis was there, but now Gastón shows up with two goons in dark suits and glasses, this confuses me, it looked like no one recognized him, and his introduction of the new girl in town, is it Veronica Dante (as in Dante's inferno), did he say that she wished to be the new patrona?

I am finding it hard to believe that Gabriela will just walk into town, and no one will know who she is.

Interesting that the list is always 12, and Ricardo is on that list.

Revenge...
the short route would be for you to become like those that have wronged you,
and you commit the crimes that they should have been punished for,
so how can a person do this, with clean hands?

LA PATRONA

Thanks, novelera, for recapping. I also think that at least a year has gone by since the Musketeers went to NY and David and Antonia went to Paris.

And did I miss what happened when Anibal went to NY? He had been threatening to contest Tio Goldstein's will, and he was angry that Ricardo would not go to NY with him, but I don't remember a scene where he met with the attorney for the estate.

Julio does have a son by the prostitute. He was looking at the photo of the boy and thinking to himself that he finally has a son.

I did not get that last part where Gaston and the two tall men in black went into the club to make an announcement about Veronica Dante. Since we didn't get a glimpse of the new Gabriela, it's hard to know if she's going to come back looking like herself or be completely different. It will be pretty lame if the writers expect us to believe a blond wig or a bleach job will fool everyone in SPDO. The old man in town recognized Gaston immediately ("he's the beggar").

Gabriela and Coni could legally get revenge if they use Coni's fortune wisely to entice the lobos to make illegal deals or play them against one another. I'm guessing that Gaby has had plenty of time to develop and refine her plans. She did say that she would use their weaknesses against them.

I'm really liking Gaston - such a decent man. Maybe he could end up with Francesca. They've both suffered greatly and lost loved ones because of the lobos. They deserve to be happy.

Doctora Vampira must like the pirate look. She's had plenty of time and enough money to have an artificial eye made. But she wears the patch - maybe for her it's a symbol of how much she's lost while attending to the lobos' needs. So bizarre.

Yes, I also think Gaby still loves Ale. She's hurt and bitter that he didn't believe her and deserted her, left her to be imprisoned and tortured. But her reaction to Lucho's saying they need to talk about Alejandro was very emotional.

LA PATRONA

I'm pretty sure her name is Verónica Dantés.

There are hints in this telenovela of The Count of Monte Cristo. In that French novel Edmond Dantés is falsely accused of treason and sent to the infamous prison Chateau d'If, where he was imprisoned for 14 years. He escaped by pretending to be a corpse that was thrown into the sea.

He gets his hands on a treasure and proceeds to get revenge on those who falsely accused him.

LA PATRONA

novelera - I was thinking exactly the same thing, Count of Monte Cristo, when I heard the name Verónica Dantés.

Pablo Escobar / El Señor de los Cielos -

real stuff,

remember Mariño, one of the last men standing of Pablo's,
(real name, Jhon Jairo Velásquez, known as Popeye)

a couple of months after escaping La Catedral with Pablo, he turned himself in, and in exchange for his cooperation with the law they have been protecting him, which doesn't sound very easy. He is currently in the maximum security prison in Combita , Boyacá, and I believe due for release this July.

Here is an interesting recent interview with him, where he also touches on their dealings with Amado Carrillo Fuentes, El Señor de los Cielos.

MADE IN CARTAGENA:

Another Amy, I also am surprised they are saying final chapters, although that can be up to 7 weeks. I think the show could go through lots more phases, but we'll see how they handle it.

LA PATRONA:

J desde NYC, here are some ideas for understanding Ricardo better:

1) Listen with headphones
2) Try to get some close captions (your set up might not have this)
3) Don't worry about him, he never says anything important, anyway :)

Seriously, it's a really slow process, but I've been watching novelas for about 6 years, and back then I couldn't understand much, now I can understand almost every word on La Patrona (much less on Made in Cartegena, where the accent is much stronger). Ricardo does swallow his words, but actually, that's the norm for many people (we do it in English, too). Keep tryin'!

Pasion Prohibida (Friday) part 1

We get to see B&B at the stables again (with Flavia watching them from not to far away); Bruno asks Bianca to stay away from him, she reluctantly agrees.

A few days later (including after New Year's Eve, which is very sad because I wanted to see who would Bianca kiss at midnight - lost oportunity, writers, shame on you!!)

Flavia, Bianca and Penelope are at the gym, they talk about Penelope getting fat after the birth (that Flavia is such a caring mother) and how B&B haven't seen much of each other (they are like strangers, Bianca is out of the house all day, now she works for a charity (the obvious choice when you have to give the rich protagonista something to do that doesn't mean she actually has to do any work); later Bianca and Flavia talk about Ivan, Flavia warns her daughter again that the moment she is out of the house, she will move in with Ivan. Also, Flavia warns Bianca that if she stays away from her house that much, she will not only put distance between Bruno and her but it will also cause problems for her marriage to Ariel.

Ariel and Bruno are eating out, Bruno wants to start working, he has been studying a lot lately (basically keeping himself busy, not being around Bianca, who has also found things to do out of the house). Ariel thinks Bruno should really focus on school, the job can still wait (isn't it nice to have a great executive position lined up for you as soon as you decide it is time you finished school?). They talk about Bianca's charity work (trabajo social) and Ariel starts having some chest pains (like we couldn't see that happen). Bruno asks him to go to the doctor, which Ariel does later.

Back at the house, the She Devil Flavia starts playing some dangerous games with Nina's head; in short, she tells Nina that she is sure Bruno has feelings for her, how could he not. And Nina totally takes the bait - I bet Flavia is starting to grown on Nina; seriously, now, being a brat is one thing, but being so gulible... ugh...

B&B briefly meet in the hall, it is obvious they haven't seen each other to much lately; Bruno is cold, Bianca is ...not happy about it.

Flavia talks to Bruno about Nina, how she is now a young lady, who better then her primo to show her the ways of the world - Flavia is playing these two perfectly, there is no romantic subtext in her words to Bruno, but of course Nina won't see it like this.

Pasion Prohibida (Friday) Part 2

Dinner time: everybody is eating, they talk about Bruno studying very much and Bianca working a lot. A glance there, a look there, Bruno asks Nina out!!! He is totally innocent and brotherly like in his request, but Nina, who has just had the Flavia treatment, is all but fainting with pleasure; Bianca is mad with jealosuy, Ariel has nothing against it (he sees it as something innocent, too), the only one who notices the subtext is Mademoiselle (and I have to mention this here, since I am sure Bruno and Nina's relationship will change: shouldn't Mademoiselle tell Ariel about Nina's feelings? Nina is a teenager, living under the same roof with the man she crushes on is not the best idea). And Flavia the Nosy Matchmaker from hell just enjoys the whole scene.

Later in her room, Bianca remembers Bruno asking Nina out as she undresses (a little eye candy for the guys watching the show); Ariel comes in, she asks him if she is sexy, he starts kissing her; Bianca sees his injection mark from when he went to the doctor, she is worried, wants to know when the results will be available; Ariel tries to calm her down, using the worst possible comparison in the entire Galaxy: "I might not have Bruno's streanght (fortalesa)" - pause for dramatic effect - "but I am fine"; good job, Ariel, you just managed to bring Bianca back to her initil thoughts about Bruno; they kiss some more, it is so obvious that Bianca is thinking about Bruno right now, I was half expecting she would say his name (try to blame THAT on Penelope). Eventually she just pushes Ariel aside and leaves (OUCH!)
Later, when she can't sleep, she goes to the bathroom with her phone; in the mean time Bruno is in his room boxing (translation: thinking about Bianca in sexy ways); his phone rings, it is Bianca, she wants to know why he asked Nina out - and the way she asks, it's like she is a jealous girlfriend/ step-aunt that has some forbidden feelings for her step-nephew - which she actually is, so all is good :))

There were to much scenes with Camila and Tere and Flavia's robe; they bought one that had a flaw (therefor, was less expensive), Mademoiselle found them trying to put the robe in Flavia's closet, Camila got another lecture from everybody(with all the good those do to her), Bianca almost catches them while talking, they say they have the weekly chat about house stuff (I know that was an excuse, but shouldn't Bianca be more involved in the house managing?); eventually they buy an original robe (with Mademoiselle's money), they put it back and then talk about it out loud, Katia hears, she tells Flavia, who decides she will get back at them...what a bore...and this was most of the episode, anyway,

Aside from that, I think Flavia's game is sick, Bianca should really let her go, live her romance and stop causing so much trouble. Seriously, Bianca, think a little!

Hombre de Misterio:

Thanks for the tips. I do listen with headphones and usually watch the show on YouTube. When the eps upload on Telemundo-some days they don't put up the previous night's ep-the sound quality is much better than the uploaders on YT. I'm purposefully avoiding using CC2 to ensure that I hear the language first to learn how the words sound. It really has been helpful to me to understand better the everyday Spanish language chatter I hear all around me in NYC. When I listen with CC2 it feels like a vocabulary or reading exercise instead of watching a show. Watching it online with headphones makes me absorb more-I don't translate the show from Spanish to English, I hear the language and comprehend it naturally and enjoy it more.

When all else fails-when I'm unsure of what verb I heard or can't understand contexts- I watch the eps Free on Demand with CC2 activated. I tend to understand 80% of the dialogue on my worst day. I also like to watch online because I can have the show on in one tab and the DRAE in another tab to look up verbs I don't know.

EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA

In which Alivas past is about to be revealed......

Luci is sent to the maximun prison area with Alex and Layton, since he is suspected of killing his San Gabriel classmates. Diana believes in his innocence. So does Tom, since the real killer would not let himself be seen so easily by the cameras of the hotel.
That night Rafa tells dMart that ,on the day of the shooting, Marcos was in the nursery room. This means he wasnt the killer. dMart mentions the letters were apparently written by a woman, who claimed to love him.
Aliva says the letters were burned by Layton, and that the letters may be fake. dMart is shocked, since Aliva earlier said the letters were real. Now she says no.
The next day at Alivas living room, dMart finds a box with the letters inside, but Aliva says she cant stand any more pain because of her "fathers" death. Ramon Farias.
Rafa learns that the weapon used in San Gabriel belonged to Fed, and not Zeke like she thought.
In prison Layton tells Diana the killer is Aliva. Diana is lost for words.
Meanwhile, Nat tells Tom that Eva put the gun in Alex's locker. Besides, now she knows that Marcos was at the nursery at the time of the shooting. Tom is shocked since he knows Aliva is responsible, but he swore not to say anything.......

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

AdrianaNoel - I've decided when Jencarlos has a concert hopefully in LA or if not Miami, even though I don't care much for his music, I will be there front and center to ogle.

That Sra. Flavia sure is a piece of work; la odio!!! She truly does not deserve to be called Mom, that's why Bianca doesn't.

I wonder if Bruno will move out since Bianca said "if my existence bothers you so much, maybe you should consider moving out." I honestly don't like that they're making her out to be the jealous type.

PASION PROHIBIDA
First, thanks Shallowgal for the link to Mr Hotness (JC Canela) on Youtube. :o)
AdrianaNoel, great insightful recap, thanks! There is a lot of subtle character development going on which means no wild rollercoaster action. But that is okay by me, just let me stare at Bruno for an hour, I will be happy!

MADE IN CARTAGENA:

AnotherAmy and Hombre - Thursday's episodes was #33. So we have about 2 more months of episodes to watch.

Hombre - I will be busy this coming Thursday night (March 7). Could you do the recap for me?

MADE IN CARTAGENA:

Jody, I'll be happy to recap Thursday.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

J in Oregon - para nada. As for staring at Bruno for an hour, I do wish he was on screen for that much, pero nooooo. he's normally on an average of 20mins or less per episode... ugh... that hour sure passes too quickly for my liking.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

Thanks for the terrific recap, AdrianaNoel. You especially captured Flavia's wickedness. I can't tell if all this plotting for Bruno and Nina to be together is to ensure Bianca's marriage, and thus her mansion home and meal ticket, stays intact. Or if she knows Bianca's feelings for Bruno and wants to torture her daughter. Maybe it's both.

Jencarlos has some serious fans on this site! I get a kick out of the cyber drooling from you all: shallowgal, J in Oregon for sure. Don't know if AdrianaNoel is in this camp.

I have always liked Jencarlos. I read something long ago about his attending a very-hard-to-get-into school in Miami. Sort of like the one in Fame. The students there take a full academic curriculum and also study dance, music, and theater.

I also saw him in Más Sabe el Diablo, where he was very good. I first saw him in a very small role as the doomed Asdrúbal in Doña Bárbara. He was the love interest of the young DB, played by Génesis Rodriguez. And, of course, the older DB was played by Edith Gonzalez.

Maybe I'm just too many decades older than Jencarlos. I like his acting and his beautiful face, but don't quite get as worked up about him as the rest of you.

PASION PROHIBIDA
Novelera: I, too, am decades older than JenCarlos. But I still find him drool-worthy. Purely from an intellectual viewpoint, of course.
:o)
I'm in denial that the writers might pair Bruno up with Nena...Ewww!
J in Oregon

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

same here, novelera and J in Oregon - decades older than JC. just like I drool over William Levy. these 2 are my fave novela actors. I am drawn to Cubans, i think. Jorge Luis Pila is as well, and he's my 3rd fave.

LA MARIPOSA

Crap! I was experiencing a busy week, so decided to delete some of the weekly episodes and watch them over the weekend.

So I got up to the last episode, which would have earlier been broadcast on Friday, March 2. Only to find that, while my DVR said La Mariposa at 6:00, what was really on was some retrospective of Pope Benedict.

So the final is on tonight, but it appears I will have missed an episode. I could scream.

Could anyone post where those episodes are to be found? I think MundoFox is behind. I'd really like to see Friday's episode BEFORE watching the last one.

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Lunes, Part 1

Flora spends the night at Vicente's side, actually falling asleep in his bed next to him. Before they fell asleep, Vicente asked her if the hairclip (actually, maybe it's a pin) was hers, and she nervously said yes, she must have dropped it when she got out her phone, did she do something wrong? Of course not, says Vicente. He doesn't suspect her at all.

But Imanuol is not so sure. When he hears from Silvie how Flora spent the night, and how she was there when there was the attempt on the Santa Helena in the house, he starts putting two and two together. Silvie had just told him how she was frustrated with her relationship with Vicente, just when it was getting started, now they're arguing. And Vicente is just so obsessed with the Santa Helena, he has no time for me. Imanuol asks, do you think it's just the Santa Helena? Well, replies Silvie, I know it's crazy, but I keep sensing something between Vicente and Flora. I mean, her friend Sofi went to France, and she's still there. Both Imanuol and Silvie have slight suspicions now, so they call Sofi in France, saying they need to know stuff about everyone who's been coming over, but when they get to Flora, Sofi says she trusts Flora completely.

Imanuol also pressures Dixon. He grabs him, takes him down to the beach, beats him a bit, and threatens him with a gun, even playing Russian roulette to get him to talk. Imanuol already knows Candelario is Dixon's brother, but he doesn't know about Flora. Dixon doesn't talk, except to say he has a mother and a sister. Imanuol puts a guard outside the house to watch, and the guard reports only one girl has come in, maybe that's the sister. But WE know it isn't, it's Carin.

When Flora wakes up next to Vicente, her phone vibrates, and it's a reminder today is the champeta contest. She leans down to the sleeping Vicente, and kisses him on the lips, very tenderly. Then she's off for the contest. Her Mom Belén is already at the Basurto, and is surprised the crowd is all for Celina. Flora doesn't have one of the dresses she needs, so Belén calls Dixon, bring over the dress. Dixon tells her how he was roughed up by someone working for Vicente. Belén doesn't tell this to Flora, just begs Dixon to get over here with the dress. Dixon uses Carin as a diversion, and escapes to go to the club.

Silvie and Vicente were both invited to the champeta contest. But Silvie gets called to the bank. When she gets there, a young guy says the Santa Helena looks strange, there are new marks where the base touches the top, as if some work was done on it recently. They can't tell if it's a fake or not, they'd need an expert, whom they call, but it'll be a few days before he gets there. Silive tells Imanuol, who also can't tell. They both agree not to tell Vicente, so when he calls, saying he's coming to the bank, Silvie says you can't disappoint Flora (you know she didn't want to have to say that). So Vicente will go to the dance contest.

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Part 2

There are about five or six couples in the dance contest. They're all announced, and when Flora's name comes up, the whole crowd boos and whistles (in a bad way). Watusi takes the mike and tries to tell the crowd we're all here because we love to dance, let's be nice to everyone. He privately blames Celina for turning everyone against Flora, but she says she just told the truth, Flora is with a new crowd now, wasn't here for Sabroso, seems to have abandoned her people.

Calbache tells Cande not to worry, he's made sure Harvey won't hurt Cande. Dixon shows up at the club, I guess he delivers the dress, but goes to see Harvey upstairs. Meanwhile, Harvey has told Blatcho to follow Carin, and if she in any way ties Harvey to Susana, kill her! Imanuol is also having Carin followed, doesn't even know who she is, but that's part of how Dixon could escape the house, the guard was told to follow Carin. Carin just wants a job, but she has no idea how precarious her life is. Dixon gave her a little kiss before she went outside to be his diversion, she brushed him off, but later smiled to herself, maybe those two could get together. Anyway, when Dixon goes upstairs and tells Mireya, who tells Harvey, about that guy who shook him down, Harvey shows him a picture of Imanuol, is this the guy? Yep. Okay, son, you're about to see something, and if you ever talk, you're toast. Harvey opens the secret door from his office into the command center, and Dixon walks through. There he sees Agua Mala, and Cande, and can see some heavy stuff happens here. Cande is at first mad, but Mireya tells him to play it cool. Dixon's in the big leagues now.

Downstairs in the champeta contest, the couples dance the first round, and everyone's eliminated except Watusi and Celina, Flora and Pepe, and one other couple. Next dance, each partner will dance with a member of the public. Young guys and girls eagerly come out as each name is called. The last to be called is Flora, and no one volunteers. There's booing and hissing. Flora looks downtrodden. The MC says, for the last time, is there anyone here who will be Flora's partner? All of a sudden, we see Don Vicente, on crutches, push his way through the crowd, saying I'LL dance with her! Wow!!!!!!!!!!

She also explains how things happened that day, the gun Alexs locker and the second she pulled the trigger.....

NovelaMan, I enjoyed the recaps. You cleared up several things for me. Thank you.

Pasion Prohibida

About JC Canela - I am only 4 years older then him, so the age doesn't bother me at all.
I watched a few episodes of Mas sabe el diablo, but it happened during the time he had long hair; I don't like guys with long hair, so he never really got to me. I knew he existed, but that was all
I only noticed him for real in Pasion Prohibida, where he is trully yummy; I started watching a few episodes of Mi corazon insiste, his other TN, and even if there, too, he is looking very well, I don't find him so drool worthy as in PP.
So, for me, it is basically the story and the chemistry between the leads.
And if we talk about TN crushes, I used to like William Levy a lot, still, do, but my favourite now is Cristian de la Fuente. Last year, with Amor Bravio, I was craaazyyy about him...
Eh, TV crushes...what would we do without them?

And back to PP, I haven't yet seen the latest episode, so I need to go take care of that...talk to you soon :)

LA PATRONA:

They sure are teasing us with Gaby's new look. We see her legs, her feet, her back, her face covered with a plaster beauty treatment, etc. Maybe tonight's the night.

It's great how she's able to buy a big house in town, and throw a huge party (Pati's first client in her new business). But how is she going to get revenge? So far, no clues. I didn't totally understand the deal with Julio for a water treatment facility, or something like that. She's somehow getting everyone's greed to overcome their wariness (not Antonia, though).

I wonder if there's any chance David will actually start viewing Cecilia (Poncia's niece) in a positive, maybe even romantic way?

I LOVED when Poncia said Antonia grew up poor, and doesn't want anyone to KNOW!

EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA

Im noticing everyone forgot about the water bottle guy...............

LA MARIPOSA

novelera - I too am so bummed cuz on the Sunday marathon, they didn't show the last 2 episodes as the channel guide indicated. so I have to wait til they post it on MundoFox web. rrrrgghhhh.

Agt Smith sure is relentless in bringing La Mariposa and Martinez down.

LA PATRONA

Several interesting developments last evening:

* Antonia started life poor (and doesn't want anyone to know)

* Ricardo acted like he's guessed that Pati and Ale are having an affair

* Gaby's venganza plan includes a dam south of town and she'll pay for it; does this mean she'll control the flow of water to the mines and ranches?

Maybe tonight will be the great reveal!

Pasion Prohibida Monday
Part 1

We start with B&B talking on the phone. Bianca wants to know why he is taking Nina out; he says it is no big deal, they are cousins. Ariel wakes up and he is alone in bed (this happens a lot in this episode); he can hear Bianca talking in the bathroom, but obviously he doesn't hear quite right, because when he asks her what is going on she comes out (after hanging up on Bruno), just to tell him that she talks alone in the mirror.
Yair and Katia meet on the hallway, she is wearing Flavia's sexy lingerie, he kind of diggs her.

In the morning Nina goes to visit her new BFF, Flavia; she is obviously very happy and Flavia continues her twisted "Bruno really likes you" game; then Bianca shows up, she is surprised that Nina would be in her mother's room; when Nina is gone, she warns her mother to stop meddling in everybody's business. Flavia is just trying to help them not hide their feelings anymore (rolling my eyes) - Nina told her she is in love with Bruno, Bruno didn't, but no man would - how great it would be if they got married. Bianca is nervous, she keeps saying this can't happen because they are cousins, Ariel would never allow it, she would never allow it. Flavia points out that Bianca doesn't like the idea because she is hiding something (you think?!)

Mademoiselle tells Nina how she noticed the looks between she and Flavia during dinner; Nina, who is more insufferable then ever in this episode (I only mention it once, but I couldn't stand her in any of the scenes) says that Flavia is her fashion consultant, that Mademoiselle has no reason to be jealous, she still loves her the most (like anyone could be jealous if Nina decided to go annoy somebody else with her petty, childish stupidities).

We see Ariel in the doctor's office, but we don't get to actually see him talk about the results of the analysis; he calls Bianca to tell her that he is fine (is he?). She is so happy, she suggests they go celebrate with Bruno and Nina (heeeeh); Ariel prefers to let them go alone, it is their first time out.

Later Bianca is listening to music on the headphones when Bruno and Nina walk in, they are ready to leave. Bruno is surprised that Bianca would listen that kind of music (I take it that he likes it, too). Bianca tries to convince them, too, that they should all go celebrate the fact that Ariel made a good business deal (she doesn't tell them about the doctor), but they don't agree. Some more small talk, then Bruno and Nina leave, Bianca is left to watch them from the window, as they get into the car.

(I have to say, Bruno, from all the women in the world, getting involved in a (platonic for now) love triangle with your aunt and your cousin, is really greek drama worthy)

Yair goes to Bruno's room, boxes a little, Camila find him there, he is obviously upset because of date night; he rejects Camila's idea that they could go out the next day, too.

Nina and Bruno arrive at a fancy restaurant, her happiness is so sugar sweet, it makes me cringe. They talk about this and that and Nina mentions how all the women are looking at him (they are); he doesn't care, he only ahs eyes for her (Bruno, you big idiot, you know how she feels about you and yet, you send her all this signals that you like her, instead of taking advantage of the fact that you are alone and make it clear to her that you only see her as a cousin - everything bad that will come from this is on you).

Bianca and Ariel got out of the movies, she is obviously not enjoying herself, she wants to go home; Ariel mentions how she fussed and turned all through the movie. At first, she denies that something might be worng with her, but then she says it has to do with her mother , she thought that she wouldn't like having Flavia in the house, but it turns out she was wrong (Bianca, you are idiot number two).

Pasion Prohibida Monday
Part 2

In the mean time Flavia and Ivan are at his place, they talk about the future, he is so in love (LOL) and wants to be together all the time; mother of the year Flavia can't leave her daughter Bianca alone, the girl needs her (yeah, right), the magazine, the scandal...finally she jumps on him and start doing it (oh, how lovely).

Yair is in his room, still upset; he remembers listening to Nina and Bruno's talk from before they left the house (when Bianca was looking at them through the window) - Nina suggested they could ask Yair to drive them, Bruno said that it will be just them tonight (Bruno, you utter fool). Katia comes in wearing the same robe from the other night, tries to seduce him.

Bruno and Nina are eating dessert, he puts some cream on her nose, then says that if she were his girlfriend he would wipe that out with kisses ("comerte a besos"). One of his friends comes, while he says hello to Bruno, a glass of watre spills on Bruno's phone, Nina tales it and puts in in her purse.

Ariel and Bianca are back home, she is outraged that a girl Nina's age is still on the street at that hour; nobody else seems to care, Mademoiselle, Santi and Ariel go upstairs, Bianca can't sleep (so she says), she asks to borrow Mademoiselle's tablet to watch a movie.

Flavia's walk of shame ends with finding Bianca waiting in her room. Where have you been, I've told you not to see Ivan anymore - I promise I won't, we just said goodbye...yada yada..the same stuff.
Then Bianca goes into teh living room and starts checking her Internet account (twitter like), she sees an update from Nina, a photo of her and Bruno at the restaurant. And if that is not bad enough, when Bruno and Nina arrive home, Bianca hides behind a door (Bianca, be careful, you are entering Crazyville)

After Bruno gets in his room and starts to take of his clothes, Bianca barges in, she wants to know how the night went; he doesn't know what is wrong with going out with his cousin, everything is innocent. Back in her room, Nina finds Bruno's phone in her purse and goes to return it to him. She enters his room just in time to hear Bianca tell Bruno to stay away from Nina.
Then things get really interesting, because even if Bianca shoudl be the one to make up an excuse, it is Bruno who tells Nina that Bianca is worried that if she goes out with him, Nina won't have anymore time for her studies. Bianca catches on and adds that since Bruno has wasted so much time, school has never been a priority for him (basically, offending him, which he doesn't like), she doesn't want the same to happen to Nina. Who is not pleased, anyway, she asks Bianca that next time when she has something to say, to say it her face.

Bianca leaves (left alone, Bruno tells Nina that Bianca is only trying to win points with her), she meets Ariel on the hall; he woke up, didn't find her in bed - Bianca explains that Bruno and Nina are home, she went to say goodnight.

The next morning, Bianca leaves a note on Ariel's pillow about going jogging. She finds Bruno in the kitchen, he is upset, he wants to know what is she doing, ge demands to know the truth about what is going on between them.

At this point even a fool would see what is going on between them, and they both realize it very well, but Bianca hasn't gotten to the point where she can acknoledge it in any way. And Bruno is doing his best to forget all about it. Good luck with that!

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

btw, novelera - thanks for that tidbit on Jencarlos attending Fame-like school of the arts. it sure shows, even at the tender age of 20-21 when he starred in Mas Sabe.

AdrianaNoel - love reading your recaps and entertaining side comments (i.e. rolling my eyes). gracias.

Bruno really should not act so encouraging and flirtatious with Nina, esp. since he knows how she feels about him.

LA MARIPOSA

Shallowgal, actually it was the next to the last episode that got preempted by Pope stuff. That was the episode that should have aired at 6:00 pm (CA time). The other four Mon-Thurs episodes were all there. I watched some of the episodes Saturday night and was all ready to watch the 6:00 episode, which showed up on my DVR as La Mariposa, at around 7:30 Sunday night, too late to get anything.

The grand finale was on last night. I didn't watch it in hopes of being able to fill in the missing one before watching the very end.

And thanks to Anonymous at 11 am today EST for posting the link to find the episodes.

This has been one addictive novela, and I was gnashing my teeth when I selected my recording and saw it was about the retiring pope.

LA PATRONA

Interesting episode. Antonia's nose is SO out of joint hearing about what a big wheel Verónica Dantés is going to be in San Pedro del Oro.

Thanks, Beth, for filling in the definition for presa, which I was too lazy to get off the sofa and look up. It does mean dam. I got the impression that she had Gastón get a building permit from Julio Montemar in order to build this dam. This will benefit poor people who live near where the water will accumulate - I think.

We got to see Antonia's hair style that is shown in the cast montage. I think this is finally her real hair.

Yeah, it sure seems like Ricardo is onto Ale and Patti's steamy hotel sessions. He reduced Ale to utter shame talking about how once loyalty is broken, it is very, very hard to ever restore it.

I LOVED Lagarto and Macario's faces when they saw the big, tough bodyguards Gastón brought along. There was some bluster later that they weren't afraid of them, but that was macho BS. They KNOW they'd lose.

I was wondering about David and Cecilia also. But he surely treated her like crap and Valentina chewed him out for it. Gaby better hurry. That boy has just about been ruined by Antonia.

Cecila, I think, was cooperating with a plan so that Valentina could sneak out and meet Max, saying a girl had come to visit her.

Actually, Gaby's place is a whole hacienda with more acreage than Antonia's. I'm wracking my brain trying to remember the word they used for the place she's remodeling. Was it castle, or monastery or what? Anyway, whatever place she selected is a ruin, but she's completely renovating it.

It was kind of funny that Gastón was spreading the rumor that Gaby had gotten rich by marrying rich husbands - a jab at Antonia, for sure.

LA PATRONA

novelera - I believe the word is "fortaleza??"

LA PATRONA

Thanks, Shallowgal. That was it!!

Fortaleza!!

LA PATRONA:

I, too, was too lazy to look up presa, and am thankful Beth filled in that it means a dam. I did learn one new word, when Antonia said "no me desautorizes", meaning don't discredit me.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

Thanks so much, Adriana/Noel. Your recaps are great. So you're only 4 years older than JenCarlos. You can drool guilt free!

I was completely disgusted at Flavia and Katia giggling like middle school mean girls about Camila and Tere having to repay Mademoiselle $800 for a robe that Flavia gave Katia so she could swan around in it.

I was yelling at Yair when Katia practically jumped on him in his room - DON'T DO IT!! Katia doesn't deserve Yair. She's a complete bitch.

I can't get over the way everyone, and I mean everyone, walks into everyone else's bedroom on this novela. Bianca almost caught him with his pants off, and it's not the first time she's walked in. Flavia consistently walks into everyone's bedroom, including Bruno's. Sheesh.

LA PATRONA

Another small, but funny piece of dialogue last night was Valentina's deliberate defiance of Antonia's authority when Antonia told Poncia that her niece Cecilia could not stay at the hacienda. Without missing a beat, Valentina said, "Yes she can. She can be my maid. I'll have my grandmother pay (for Cecilia's work)". I think Valentina has the potential to be a real pain in Antonia's derriere, esp since she's meeting Max on the sly.

The "fortress" is supposed to be much larger than Antonia's spread, and I thought CC said it is the largest rancho in the district.

Francesca really lit up when Gaston came a-calling.

Does anyone have any info as to the length of this TN? It's been about 2 months since we started, and we're now to the venganza. I'm wondering if we're going to have 4 or more months of our heroine wreaking havoc on 10 lobos and waffling on 2 people on her list (Ricardo and Ale). Since I'm new to Telemundo, my reference is the length of Univision TNs.

Beth

Pasion Prohibida

Shallowgal, I enjoy doing the recap, but I mostly do it to have a way to express my opinions. I am used to watching TN with someone else (my mom, mostly) and now, that I watch alone, I have to add my two cents here and there. And it is also very fun!

Novelera, the way everybody just barges in all the time is bad enough, but when Flavia does it it simply drives me crazy; she is oh so friendly with Bruno, I bet now that she is almost sure that Bianca likes him, she wouldn't say no to a roll in the proverbial hay...if you know what I mean.
I have to say, though, I didn't mind it when Bianca came into Bruno's room; the way she kept going back and forth in the hall, while he was undressing, I almost thought she would find him in his underwear.
AND, did you notice how he only zipped his pants when Nina came in? He must not mind it that much if Bianca sees him half naked (surely, she doesn't)

PASION PROHIBIDA
Novelera--re: the barging into other people's rooms--reminds me of Corazon Valiente where nobody ever locked the front door to the mansion even though there were assorted crazies, loonies, serial murderers on the loose. Said crazies were always able to put on a disguise and just walk in the front door.
My other favorite is the old cliche of someone listening at the door and overhearing a private conversation. Hello, people--shut the door!!!

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Martes, Part 1

This episode was a keeper. I haven't smiled so much for a telenovela in quite some time. We begin with the champeta contest. Even though Vicente is on crutches, he dances around a bit with Flora, and she's on fire! The crowd is won over. In the end, Celina loses, Watusi wins (and I think Flora does, too). From upstairs, Harvey sees all this, and isn't happy. He tells Blatcho to tell Flora to get Vicente away from the club. She tells Vicente they should celebrate in a more private place, and he says he knows just the place.

Meanwhile, Carin has her job at the Basurto, as a waitress. But when she's in Harvey's office, he says your real job is to become friendly with Flora, and report back to me on everything she does. This is funny, since Carin already IS friendly with Flora, I guess Harvey doesn't know this. Carin later tells Flora exactly what Harvey told her to do, further fueling Flora's doubts about Harvey. Carin also sees a folder on Harvey's desk, marked “Susana's accounts”, and wants to know what's inside the folder. She later asks Dixon to try to see what's in the folder, not telling him why, but promising “anything he wants” if he succeeds. The horny youth wants to help, but it won't be easy getting to look at that file.

And Carin's not the only person who needs Dixon's help. Cande sees Agua Mala put the memory card way up high in the top of the hideout/warehouse, protected by some security cameras. Down in the club, he sees Dixon climb up a high pole like an ape, taking down some decorations without a ladder. So he tells Mireya, they could get Dixon to climb up and get the memory. Mireya's not so sure it'll work, but she can do her part and get Agua Mala out of the office when the time is right.

An expert has confirmed to Silvie and Imanuol that the Santa Helena is half real, half fake. They have no idea how this happened, or why. They figure lots of people could have done it, such as people transporting it between the house and the bank, or others. But there aren't any leads for now. They continue to feel it's best not to worry Vicente about this.

Cande tells Harvey I know why Calbache hates you, you killed the previous owner of this club, and it was Calbache's father. Harvey pretends to be surprised, says that's crazy, Calbache sure comes up with wild things. Cande is trying to get Harvey's confidence with this, he tells Mireya. He purposely didn't mention his own father. Later, Blatcho asks Harvey if he thinks Cande knows about his own father, and Harvey doesn't think so.

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Part 2

Okay, now for the good part. Vicente takes Flora on a speedboat. She's scared, but he calms her. They go to a private island or beach. They're glowing with the fun they had at the dance contest. The scenery is exquisite. Flora admits to him that she's never known such a feeling of happiness as when he volunteered to dance with her. Her heart was fluttering. Vicente says ever since you've arrived, my whole life has changed, I'm enjoying life again. They almost kiss, and she pulls away, saying she's scared of the ocean, which is right next to them. He goes, if you have a fear, it's best to confront it. She won't go in the water, but he does. Then he holds his breath and goes under. Flora doesn't see him come up, gets worried, and walks out into the water. All of a sudden, Vicente pops up, he's fine! And look, he says to Flora, you've conquered your fears, you're in the ocean. They hug, then....they kiss. First tentatively, then passionately, over and over again, floating in the crystal clear tropical waters.

They get out, and Vicente says it's time to eat. Flora doesn't know where they can get any food, but Vicente says let's fish! He actually spears a few nice fish, builds a fire, blowing Flora's mind. She thought he was some stuck up fuddy duddy who always would have servants do everything for him, but no! He's a real guy, warm, handsome, and self sufficient. She still has some doubts about what they're doing, but Vicente says let's just live in the moment. And this is just the beginning!

Pasion Prohibida Tuesday

In which I almost threw my laptop through the window. Several times.

We start with B&B in the kitchen; he demands to know what is going on between them; nothing, is, she is only worried for Nina, since he is such a womanizer; he is not buying it, but suggest to accompany her for the run.

Ariel wakes up in bed, he is alone, but he sees Bianca's note and he smiles. Yair is in his room, Camila barges in. he complains how everybody in the house just gets in without knowking (heh, it's like they are reading theis chats); Camila tells him about Katia's robe, he tries to get rid of her.

B&B are running; he wants to stop, talk about her attitude some more; why did she feel the need to question him at midnight, why is she pretending there is nothing between them, when the tension is so palpable; Bianca denies, denies, denies, she is only worried about Nina, who is young and innocent, he will only hurt her, like he did Penelope. (Although Bianca is only using this as an excuse, she is dead on about Bruno's attutide towards Nina)
Later Bianca is at home, she is thinking about their talk, while Bruno, still jogging, remembers how Bianca told him how much she loved Ariel and was afraid she might lose him that night at the cemetery.

Nina goes to visit Flavia, they talk about Bruno, Flavia wants to know if they kissed (Yikes!), they make the perfect couple yada yada; Nina is so giddy, I could stranggle her (and throw my laptop through the window). Bianca comes in, Nina tells Flavia about Bianca still being up the night before and everything that happened.

Bruno goes to the gym, he finds Eliana, she apologizes for trashing his car, Bruno is fine, since he got a new one (oh, to be rich..) They go to her apartment, they start to kiss, when Eliana's sugar daddy in training, Guillermo, calls. She doesn't take the call, she is happy that she and Bruno are back together. Bruno is not that willing to jump right back into a relationship...yet!

Nina and Mademoiselle are at an art gallery, Nina whines some more about how Bianca is competing with her (oh, Nina, if you only knew). They meet some guy from Mlle's past, Carlos. She doesn't want to talk about him, she refuses to give him her phone number. Of course, Nina can't take no for an answer and pushes to know what happened between them: they used to go out, he let her down.

Bruno and Eliana are in bed, her phone rings, she goes to answer in the other room (Bruno hears her leave). It is Guillermo, she tells him to not call her again, she is back with her boyfriend. Guillermo is upset, but at least for now, there is nothing he can do about it. When she finishes with the call, Eliana realizes Bruno has been listening, he wants to know the name of the man that was after her while they were not together, she obviously doesn't want to tell him.

Guillermo calls his wife, who is with baby Federico - she asks him to come see his nephew. He eventually agrees. At the house, he carries the baby, falls in love with him and everything is fine until Nico, Penelope & everybody else (including Flavia) comes in. Flavia has another one of her annoying moments, Guillermo leaves. Nico runs after him, he is happy his dad came, they hug - it is a nice moment, Guillermo is ten times better then Flavia in the grandparents department.

Ariel and Bianca are strolling, she has a sour face, he isists that she tell him what is wrong. Eventually she admits she is worried that Bruno might hurt Nina. Ariel asks her to let them leave their lives, stop worrying.

Pasion Prohibida Tuesday
Part 2

Night comes. Nina goes to Mademoiselle's room, to ask about the ex boyfriend. We get an unnecesary flashback that shows us how Carlos cheated on Mademoiselle. When the story is over, Mlle warns Nina to be careful who she falls in love with, because she could end up being hurt.

Bianca can't sleep, she gets out of bed, goes to Bruno's room. The door is opened, he is boxing. He sees her spy on him, asks her to come in and shots the door. He mentions how she is developing the habit to come to his room late at night. She says she only wanted to check if Nina was there. He has had it with her excuses, he wants to know what she really feels. She agrees to tell him only if he speaks first (at which moment I am clapping my hands, jumping in my bed, happy that I am home alone). He says that he finds her fascinating, when he sees her he starts to tremble. She says that he is driving her crazy. They start to kiss, accompanied by "Dime", JC's song. It is so hot and steamy and everything that a first kiss in this forbidden circumstances ought to be. Nina barges in and is in shock, but...

...not to worry, it was all a dream of Bianca's (need to through my laptop again). I have to say Bianca's subconstient really knows what is going on in Bruno's head, because it was spot on in his declaration.

Bruno is in his room, thinking about Bianca, too, when Nina comes in and they start to talk about how Mademoiselle was cheated on. Bruno warns Nina that there are very bad people out there, who can really hurt her, the human race is filled with lies and betrayal. Yair overhears their talk, goes to his room, takes of his shirt (ok), just in time for Katia to come in to say goodnight - still in a rage over Nina and Bruno, he kisses her; she leaves with a satisfied look on her face (I was sure they were gonna do it, but I guess Katia is not that kind of girl - hehe)

The next morning, everybody is having breakfast, when Bruno comes in with Eliana. Bianca is not happy about it, but it is worth it, just to see Nina screach in her seat. Bruno wants to ask his uncle's permission for something: he and Eliana are engaged to be married.
I would want to through my laptop again, but I am to happy to see Nina's face - I bet she was already searching for china patterns for their wedding.

I believe this so called wedding will only be the last drop to push Bianca in Bruno's arms. She is already on the verge with all the sexy dreams (and what a dream that was).

I have to say I am a little dissapointed that the first make out session between B&B turned out to be just a dream, but they sure are simmering hot together. When this thing really happens, they won't be able to keep it platonic for long.
I can only imagine how Nina will react tomorrow and I am all giddy about it. Bianca's reaction is a wild card, but what if she decides to make her dreams come true? :)I believe Bruno would be game .

Just saying :)

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

I was freaking out last night, when Bianca got out of bed to go to Bruno's room... no no noooo... don't do that! stop barging into his room.. have a little dignity. Let him make the first move. Whew... thank heavens it was a dream; a seriously HOT one - no complaints there.

that announcement Bruno made last night is sure to dash Nina's hopes a little. ha!

AdrianaNoel - thanks for noticing the other night how Bruno zipped up his pants when Nina showed up at his room; I missed that. But I did not miss when it was unzipped. caliente!

Pasion Prohibida

Shallowgal, I think you are right: Bianca needs to let Bruno make the first step. She can keep fantasizing, though, I don't mind it.

So far all he is doing is push her to the edge. I know he thinks he is keeping his distance but she is in so over her head, who knows what she might do.
The fact that she only dreamed about going to his room, maybe means that it will be him making the first step after all.
As for Nina, she is unsufferable no matter if she is happy or sad...scratch that, she is worse when she is mooning over Bruno with Flavia by her side.

EL ROSTRO

Guys at this point i seriously doubt that Aliva is the killer. The 3 people i suspect are

1. Water bottle guy at the class reunion: Everyone seems to have forgotten him. Or was he killed too? I missed a few caps so maybe he was killed and I never saw that cap.

2. Eliana: Dont know why but shes startin to seem a bit too innocent. She also hated Mari and Tanya. (I once heard a sayiong that went something along the lines of "Never underestimate an old lady").

3. Rafa the lawyer: Its obvious she also has a thing for dMart. But how much does she really love him?

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

Thanks so much, AdrianaNoel. I don't have a laptop, but I did throw a magazine.

That blasted Nina is the queen (or should I say princess) of inappropriate behavior. I wanted to strangle her at least three times.

She feels like the people she loves need to tell her everything and to behave exactly as SHE wants them to do.

I still remember the hissy fit when she snooped in her papí's taller and discovered that he was carving an image of Bianca and not of her.

First, she whines and wheedles until she gets a juicy story out of Mme. about Carlos' betrayal. Then she cruises into Bruno's room late at night, and tells him this very intimate story. Then she gets into bed with him like she's 5 and this is no biggie at all.

I can't believe how dumb Bruno is. He was completely over Eliana, never into her that much in the first place. Then he saw her Fatal Attraction smashing of his car. And his solution to getting the Bianca jones off him is to propose to the potential rabbit boiler? Priceless! But it was great to see Nina's face. And Flavia's!

I was amazed to see Guillermo show a human side as he held his grandson. Maybe they'll redeem him.

EL ROSTRO

Thanks so much for your recaps, NovelaMan.

I watch sporadically. I did watch last night. I don't think Alicia/Eva has killed anyone since she was 8 years old either.

But I have no clue who could have killed the others.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

novelera - yeah, Bruno going back and getting engaged to Eliana... he's trying hard to not think of Bianca, and this is his way of doing so. good luck with that.

I also loved that little jab when Nina was relating Mme's story to Bruno, and how she was cheated on by Carlos. remember what you (Bruno)did to Penelope?

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

Yep, Shallowgal, Nina tries to work that innocent sweetie, but the real girl comes through a lot. Like that jab about Penelope.

Bruno's new theme song:

♫ If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with. ♫

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

lol!!! appropriate song indeed, novelera.

EL ROSTRO

So dMart will forgive Zeke who threw him in prison, but he wont forgive Eva who killed because of her love for him. What a douche. I probably would've shot the little bastards too!

LA MARIPOSA:

I just watched my recording of the final episode. Did they just totally leave us with a cliffhanger?! I feel kind of cheated...

LA MARIPOSA

haven't seen it yet, Vivi.

AdrianaNoel, you were so right when you called this a Greek-tragedy-worthy triangle: Bruno, his aunt, his cousin.
What makes it a tragedy is both Bruno and Bianca know what a sweet decent man Ariel is, but their feelings make a tragic outcome inevitable.
Meanwhile, let the shirt-ripping continue!

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Miércoles, Part 1

Flora spends the night with Vicente at the beach, but they don't have sex. In the morning she tells him she had the most amazing time, but now it's back to reality. Vicente doesn't want to, he wants to find some way they can be together. She doesn't think Sofi will accept her. For now, they're not going public, but they both seem very much in love.

We then have some parallel scenes. Flora meets with Watusi to tell him it's over between them. They made lots of beautiful memories, but that's all they can be – memories. Watu asks if there's any hope for him? No. At the same time, we have Vicente, breaking up with Silvie. He says he doesn't feel the same about her as she does about him. She's really upset, gives him a hard time, what's wrong with her, she asks. He finally says there's someone else (but he doesn't say who it is).

Silvie calls Matilda, who was in the house when the Santa Helena was transferred? Well, just Don Vicente and Colonel Torres. Oh, and Flora. Silvie tells Imanuol. They still don't suspect Flora. Imanuol then sneaks into Vicente's house, and examines the security tapes from that day. He doesn't see anything, but discovers the “loop” that takes up the five minutes when the treasure was tampered with. He tells Silvie there's no way that's a coincidence. Silvie looks really sad to Imanuol, and when he questions her, she admits she's upset because Vicente broke up with her. Imanuol then admits that he's always loved Silvie! In fact that's why he went to Spain, because he couldn't bear being around Silvie when she and Vicente were so close. But now? Silvie is flattered, she's feeling WAY better, but says we'll just be friends for now.

Harvey finds out that Carin told Flora that she had to spy on Flora. He threatens Carin again, I don't care if you're friends, you tell me everything she does, or else!

Sofi calls Silvie, and finds that Vicente broke up with her. She's not happy to hear this.

When the office is empty, Dixon climbs up to get the memory card. Cande has explained he has to dodge the green laser motion detectors. When he's way up top, Mireya is keeping Agua Mala busy downstairs, talking about how they should work together. Cande is upstairs keeping watch when Max shows up! Cande tries to get Max to leave, but he just wants to talk. He mainly talks about how he's not too happy with Harvey, might leave the crew. Meanwhile, Dixon is hanging by his arms for a long time! Finally, he's able to get down without being seen. Later, in the other part of the office, he takes a look at the file on Susana, and sees a picture inside of Carin, dressed slutty. Someone's coming. He jumps behind a couch. It's Agua Mala, and he sees some files moved, and a green bandana. He doesn't touch it, but knows someone's been snooping. Later, Dixon comes out, gets his bandana, and goes to report to Cande. He's unaware Agua Mala may be on to him.

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Part 2

But Dixon got the memory card! He gives it to Mireya, and after she and Cande kick Dixon out of the room (but thank him), they put the memory card in the computer, but it's blank! Cande thinks maybe it's not blank, just encoded, but they don't know how to unlock it. Agua Mala may be careless with love matters, but he's very smart when it comes to computers and security.

Blatcho tells Harvey he found Calbache's headquarters. They go there, overpower the guard, and both hold guns to Calbache's head. Harvey tells Calbache, I know the truth. YOU were the sapo. We see this is true, Calbache wrote an email to the police and tipped them off to the failed theft of the Santa Helena, way back, which resulted in Robinson's death. And to think Harvey and Blatcho killed that cop they thought was the sapo! Calbache says I had to do it, you killed my father, I have the right to revenge. Well too bad, says Harvey, you die now. Wait, says Calbache, why do you think I haven't killed YOU yet? My boss won't let me. And he won't let you kill me either. If you do, you're dead. Don't believe me? Let's call him. They do, and an old guy with a hat and whiskers answers. We don't see his face clearly. He tells Harvey and Calbache, just get the Santa Helena. No one kills the other. Until you have it delivered to me. Then you can do whatever you want. Harvey and Blatcho lower their guns.

Flora meets Vicente the next day, she has something important to tell him. She's about to tell him the whole truth, since she feels so guilty. But Vicente tells her broke up with Silvie. And he doesn't want to hear anything negative, he loves her, and somehow, they'll make it work. Flora is overcome with emotion, and they give in to their desires and kiss deeply.

Back in the office, Harvey tells Cande you want to prove your loyalty? Kill Calbache. He has Cande call Calbache, say he has info about the Santa Helena, and needs to meet with him tomorrow. Cande plays it cool, so does Calbache, and the meet is set up. Harvey still has no idea Cande is working with Calbache. But he isn't taking chances, and tells Cande he'll have to wear a wire and a camera, and they'll be watching his every move. Uh oh!

LA MARIPOSA

QUEEEEEEE DEMONIOOOOOOSSSSS!!!!!!!

what happened????? did they change the ending? I could have sworn I read about a different ending by accident months ago. does anyone know something? whether they're thinking of a sequel maybe? help!

Pasion Prohibida
Wednesday - Part 1

The family in in the living room, Santi wants to know how the proposal went; I thought we were speared, but no, we get to see it in a flashback - it is so dry, Bruno is acting like he is at the dentist, removing his wisdom teeth (which is only appropriate, since he did lose all her marbles in asking Eliana to marry him).
Ariel congratulates them, Bruno says he doesn't want to waste anymore time; Bianca is pissed off and Nina looks like she is about to faint...
...which she does in the next scene, because that is her best way to draw attention. Ariel and Bruno rush her to the hospital, but medically she is fine, her issues are psychological, she needs therapy (you think??!!) While Nina is away doing her analysis, Bruno and Ariel talk; Bruno thinks Nina is only pretending, Arile disagrees, but he sees that as much as she is becoming a woman, age wise, Nina is still a child deep down.

When the cat's away...Bianca does her snooping around She is in Nina's room, Flavia found her there. Bianca says it is all Flavia's fault, she put those ideas about Bruno in Nina's head. Flavia defends herself saying she was only looking after Bianca and her marriage, by putting someone else in Bruno's way - because, says Flavia, Nina is not the only one with a broken heart about this wedding.

Tere and Katia are fighting about Yair, Tere is very upset - I don't know what is wrong with Tere in this episode, usually she is more low key. When she finds out about Bruno's wedding she has a strange reaction, too, it almost made me think that she has a crush on Bruno, too.
Anyway, she fights with Katia about Yair, threatens to tell Ariel, but eventually doesn't.

Back to Bianca and Flavia - Flavia says that Eliana is better for Bruno than Nina (I guess you could say this is like taking the best out of a really bad situation); she points out to Bianca that she is hiding behind Nina, when in reality, she feels the same way; Bianca denies everything, of course.
Thern in her room, she tries to write in her diary, but is to bervous and ends up ripping out the page, whiel remembering when Flavia told het that as a mother, she can see things that are not visible for Bianca.

In the kitchen, Camila points out that Nina always faints when she doesn't get what she wants, which is entirely true - even her parents start to realize she might be right about Nina being a little unhinged.

In the mean time, Bianca continues her snooping around, this time in her favourite place in the house, Bruno's bedroom; she smells his boxing bag and then finds his parfume.

Downstairs, Nina & Company come back from the hospital; Bruno teases her a little, and she starts to scream (what else!)
Bianca, who is taking her sweet time smelling Bruno's perfume, hears Nina's screams and is so startled that instead of putting it back, she manages to spill half bottle on the nightstand; she is frantic, tries to wipe out the liquid with her bare hands, then she tries to dry them on her clothes, theerfor bathing in Bruno's perfume.
She manages to get out of the room and into her bedroom, before the others see her - except for Bruno, who sees her as she closes her bedroom door.

Pasion Prohibida
Wednesday Part 2

Nina feels the smell of the perfume on the hallway, screams some more at Bruno, then goes into her room to rest (give the brat a tranquilizer, for God's sake). Bruno sees his door is half open, he gets in, smells the perfume, too, and sees the nighstand is bathed in perfume.
In her room, Bianca takes of her shirt, washes off Bruno's perfume from her skin and changes to a dress. She is in a frenzy (and so am I). Ariel gets in just as she uses her own perfume; he is very worried about Nina, he feels guilty that maybe the lack of a mother made her so crazy (he doesn't say this, but heh, it is the truth - but of course it is not Ariel's fault, he is practically a saint; plenty of kids grow up without a parent and don't become entitled brats - well, maybe it is his fault a little, for spoiling her so much). Bianca tries to confort him, they go to see Nina.

They meet Bruno in the hall, he praises Bianca for smelling so nice, notices that she changed her clothes, too.
When Ariel and Bianca go to Nina's room, he goes to teh master bedroom (at which point I am all giggle, giggle - it was about time Bruno started with the snopping around, too). He finds Bianca's shirt, his perfume on it still intact - he smiles (he has an AHA moment) but then his face is troubled.

In Nina's room, she doesn't want to talk to anybody, just wants to be alone; Ariel and Bianca leave, Mademoiselle tries to make her talk, saying that if she keeps things inside she will only get worse - but Nina doesn't want to share, she preffers ti sulk, I guess.

Bruno and Eliana are eating out, talking about meeting her parents; she wants an engagement ring, he is like: "whatever, pick one and I will pay for it"; Eliana suspects that he is so nasty because Bianca is against their marriage. Bruno denies everything.

Lunch time at the manor: Bianca and Ariel tell Nina that they have decided to take a family vacation; everything seems nice, until Tere serves Bianca without her permission (!) and Bianca loses it, screaming at Tere (so I guess she is just as unhinged as Nina, but she expresses it in other ways).

Later Bianca is on the phone, making reservations for the hotel; after, she sees Bruno come in and pretends to talk to teh hotel again, but this time more sensual (what was that all about?); then he tells Bruno he is not invited, because his actions really hurt Nina - a vacation will be very good for her, the distance will calm her down (she is obviously talking about her, not Nina). Mlle is there, too, but agrees with Bianca.
In Bruno's room, he and Mlle talk about how much his actions have hurt Nina; only know he realizez that Nina's situation was so serious, he feels very bad about it, but sometimes feelings become so powerful...(again, he is not talking about Nina, but about himself).

In her room, Bianca receives a text from Bruno telling her to come over; which she does, this time knocking at the door first. Bruno agrees she was right about distance being a good thing, marriage will do them good, the ilussion will fade away before it causes problems - again, this is all about them, not about Nina.

In this house everybody likes somebody that they are not supposed to; the only two people who like each other are B&B, and that is the most forbidden relationship of them all. Oh well, I guess we have to wait for the vacation to be over until something else happens between B&B.

LA PATRONA:

Not too many comments about this show, although it's lot's of fun, but they've been stretching out Gaby's big reveal through several episodes. Speaking of a big reveal, while some of the townsfolk thought Veronica looked liked Gaby from her face, I bet a few noticed her "escote". I sure did :)

I learned a few new words. Anibal used the word abolengo, which means ancestry, and Gaby/Veronica said to Alejandro, do you think I'm un espejismo? (mirage).

Can they just start the revenge, already?!

LA PATRONA

Hombre - yes, finally the big reveal, and then some... wink wink. She looked fabulous!

Last night was the first full episode I watched, and I can't hardly wait for the venganza to commence. It was a good scene at the end of the show, when Gaby/Vero was crying along with her amiga cuz they said it is not easy, this path they're about to embark.

Maximiliano is such a sweetheart.

LA MARIPOSA:

Shallowgal- I definitely was WTH?! impactada with that ending. What did you hear the end would be? I'm still not sure how I feel about this cliffhanger end. Would I have preferred a sad/tragic end over not knowing? I'm not sure. Was there ever really a chance that Alicia, her daughter and Martinez would have a happily ever after end? A very slim one. So this way we get to imagine whatever we want.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

AdrianaNoel, I am roflol (i.e. your description of Bruno's proposal to Eliana)!

I love:
- that Bruno calls Nina out on her 'episodes.' doesn't she realize it's so unattractive and juvenile. Get her to the nuthouse already.
- Bruno's conversation w/Mlle when he said it was hard not to fight for love (or something to that effect).

LA MARIPOSA

Vivi - about halfway through this series, I thought "Alicia deserves what's coming to her (long term jail, death). She was mostly unapologetic of what she does for a living and kind of getting a thrill out of it, up until her daughter was kidnapped. She blames Manuel for ruining her life by showing up in it. In the end, kidnaps Manuel from the hospital, and still thinks they can escape from it all.

Poor Manuel - love is blind really.

I thought maybe she'd just serve a few years in jail, get out, and live happily ever after.. the 3 of them.

Pasion Prohibida

J in Oregon, I have the feeling things will get tragic, too, but until then, what are we to do except enjoy all the hotness and the leads' chemistry :)

Shallowgal, you should see me when I watch the show; I am cheering at one scene, then cursing at another, then Nina comes in and I just want to slap her silly...PP is turning me into a bipolar person.
I loved the talk between Bruno and Mlle, when he asked her how she does it to be around the man she loves and see him with another woman; I'd almost forgotten that Bruno knows about Mlle's feelings for Ariel. This is turning out to be a very complex situation, where everybody involved has so much to lose and so much pain ahead of them; I alreadu feel bad for Ariel, Mlle, Bruno, Bianca, Yair, even Camila. Nina is another story, she is just to unlikable, there are no words to describe her.

La Patrona -

I noticed first off the serpent neclace Veronica was wearing,

I like the way she is reeling in the men, away from Antonia,

Interesting that everyone first thinks it's Gabriela, then decides it couldn't be, will they all be ready for some therapy, maybe with Gertrudis.

Of course Antonia will always suspect, but what can she do?

Nice that Veronica and company are surrounded by muscle, it neutralizes La Patrona's main weapon of randomly picking people up and tormenting them, of course Max and Francisca are now totally at risk.

Lucho seems left out and not really happy about it, especially the part of Alejandro being around, does he have his own plan, it seems risky that he is spending time with Julio's girlfriend, who apparently has been just been amusing herself with Julio, for all that it is worth, I kind of wish he would do the wig thing, so that he could walk about freely,

I wonder who Veronica's late night visitor will be,
wow, she is stunning!

La Patrona

Ok, so I've been going back and forth with this TN, I only watched the first 2 episodes but now I know from all of you that there was a makeover and there is revenge starting soon - these are two of my favourite types of stories.

So, my question is, should I go back and watch what happened so far, or is it ok if I start watching from now on? Would it be hard to realize who is who and what is going on?
I am asking because, for example, with Pasion Prohibida, things are only now starting to get good, all the episodes so far can be easily summarized. Does this work with La Patrona, too?

Thanks!

Pasión Prohibida -

well, I'm still watching...

and I love reading your summaries and comments AdrianaNoel!
thank you so much!!

this is indeed a very complex story, and I have to say now that I am becoming accustomed to the characters, I'm not cringing as much,

I'm even beginning to enjoy Nina, well not the character so much, but Carmen Aub's portrayal of her, constantly scraping her fingernails down the blackboard so to speak, she really is a pivotal character in this story, that has everyone's attention.
(do they edit in that "thump" sound when she hits the ground, or is that really her?)

and Bianca, good/evil, caring/deceptive, loving/revengeful, obsessive/controlled, wow, so complex, that she doesn't even know, and so true Flavia telling her, a mother can see these things, sure to send chills down Bianca's spine, who doesn't even know what she might be hiding, it's only a matter of time before someone finds her diary,
(and what a klutz, no one who could be so clumsy and so terrible at hiding her true feelings could be all that bad, could she?)

oh Eliana, so she wants an engagement ring, wants to tell her family, wants to shout out to the world...
whatever, Bruno says, (I thought he was going to say "can't afford one after fixing my car",
did she hook up with Guillermo?

and Katia, her hurtful looks when she is being left out, but so easy to hate,
she worked on seducing Yair, and in a moment of weakness when he finally decided to cross that line, she stopped, and walked away, oooo, and her inner smiles when she succeeds in her evil ways,

and Mademoiselle, quiet in her suffering, her hidden love of Ariel, is she the glue that is keeping this family together,

Flavia, always working things to her advantage, (I'm really loving this actress, Rebecca Jones, she is so good)

and of course Camila, always doing the unthinkable and always being caught,

I am so glad I do not live in that house!

LA PATRONA

AdrianaNoel - yes, easy to follow even if you didn't see the others before now. They keep explaining throughout or doing flashbacks. typical of soap operas.

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

deb - my sentiments exactly... way too many people in one house. glad you're still in.

La Patrona -

@ AdrianaNoel

I really enjoyed watching the first part of this novela, but, it was all about the wrongs that were done to Gabriela and why she has become what she is now, and now we are moving into a new stage.

I would suggest just watching from here, and see how it goes, they were pretty good with flashbacks last night in showing the important past related scenes, also this novela is unusual in that the ratings have been increasing since it began, so they must be aware that they need to accommodate for new viewers.

btw, the wiki page has an excellent cast list with descriptions and connections of the characters that can be helpful (although there is always the chance of a spoiler)

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

oops, I'm not done.

AdrianaNoel - on your "I am cheering at one scene, then cursing at another," I feel you. I watch, and sometimes laugh too, by me lonesome, and every time Bruno's on the screen, I'm at the edge of my seat, thinking "what's gonna happen next?"

La Patrona

Deb, Shallowgal, Thanks, I will check out the wiki page and probably start watching the episodes after that fire at the jail...

PASION PROHIBIDA

Deb, I noticed Carmen Aub, too. She is playing Nina to perfection, really. Actually I believe the entire main cast was very well chosen, and they are all doing a very good job. Each character is very complex, there are no good people/ bad people; Ariel and Mademoiselle are mostly good, but they are not stupid. Mlle is very intuitive (I wonder how comes she didn't see something between B&B) and Ariel is not the gulible husband. Of course, as the story progresses, he will most likely become one, but so far, he has had his moments of wittyness.

PASION PROHIBIDA
Thanks so much AdrianaNoel for the recap!
In the nanosecond before Nina hit the floor, I thought "She's just like one of those fainting goats!" The minute there is a hint of stress, they pass out and fall over. The only difference is that, unlike Nina, fainting goats are actually cute and charming. Fainting goats are not rude, sulky and pouty. And they do not whine to their fathers "Mimorrrrr...."
J in Oregon

Pasion Prohibida

J in Oregon, your comment about fainting goats is silly enough, but when you added "Mimorrrr" I choked myself laughing.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw she fainted, is she that unstable? Camila was dead on: she was not the most important thing in the house for a nanosecond (heh, yeah) and there she goes...

La Patrona -

@ AdrianaNoel

hmm, I don't think much happened after the fire, it was more of a transitional phase, maybe I can summarize it,

Gabriel, Constanza, and Lucho went to NYC and reclaimed Coni's inheritance, plus talked the lawyer into not disclosing to anyone that Coni is alive.

Lucho returned to Mexico, in disguise and convinced Anibal and Ricardo that Constanza's body was found dead in the capital, looked like she had suffered greatly, but alas it was cremated as per her last wishes.

Gabriela began her intensive studies, french, italian, culture, self defense, weapons, etc.

Gaston was brought to NYC.

Gaston then returned and took care of all preparations for Veronica's arrival, including rebuilding the estate she now has.

btw if it helps, last night's episode was 42,
episodes 24, 26, 28, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 have picture summaries here...

LA PATRONA

Last night's episode did not disappoint. I really enjoyed Gabriela/Veronica's first encounters with each of the lobos. Even tho everyone commented on how much Vero looks like Gabriela, Antonia knew instinctively that Vero is Gabriela.

It was easy to see how Gaby/Vero is setting up each of her lobos by appealing to their vanities. AniMal was especially fun to watch; he was bug-eyed and almost drooling as Vero layered on the compliments and flirtations so thick he could barely control himself.

And I loved the scene where Vero told One-eye about building a hospital and that she wanted to be friends.

David and Ricardo seemed so vulnerable. I'm wondering how long it will be before mothers and sons will be reunited.

It was a bittersweet reunion for Gaby and Max. I too am warming up to Max - he seems like a decent honorable young man. So glad that Antonia told Macario to leave Max alone.

So who is our late night mystery visitor? Ale, Julio, Alberto? You could tell that Gaston got a kick out of Gaby's accurate prediction that someone would be arriving later.

I wonder if Antonia thinking about another DNA test. She's already got David, and it wouldn't take much to get a hair or a glass Vero's used....

And I love that Irene already hates Veronica.

LA MARIPOSA - FINAL EPISODE

The ending in Colombia seems to have been the same ending we saw, based on the RCN avances and comments from very upset viewers.

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Jueves, Part 1

While Vicente and Flora reach the pinnacle of delight, the entire rest of the world is collapsing around them. And it won't be long before their world goes down, too. Maybe.

The two lovers continue their fun in Vicente's house, at the pool. I think Matilda isn't there because she has a relative in the hospital. Well, one thing leads to another, and before you know it, Flora's top is off, the lights go down, and they do the deed! In the morning, they're on cloud nine. Vicente says we should tell everyone, we've done nothing wrong. Flora at first says how will Sofi react, later says, let the chips fall as they may.

But it may not be so easy. Sofi has come back from France without telling anyone except Marcos. She was worried when Silvie said Vicente broke up with her. She and Marcos approach the house, see some half filled wine glasses, they know Vicente must have his “new girl” there. Marcos tells Sofi not to barge in, but she won't be deterred. They go to the bedroom, peek in, and NO! They both see that Vicente is with Flora. But Vicente and Flora don't see THEM. They just hear a noise. And by the time they get up to check it out, Marcos has hustled Sofi out of there to avoid a confrontation. At the end of the episode, Sofi tells Silvie, who says she suspected this, but didn't really know. They're both in shock.

Agua Mala has told Harvey that Dixon was snooping. Harvey threatens Dixon again. Dixon says he just saw the name of Carin, and was curious. Harvey tells Dixon Carin was a prostitute in Bogota. So don't get mixed up with her. Dixon won't let Carin explain, he now shuns her. And Harvey also gives Carin the mean treatment, threatening to tell the world unless she REALLY helps him follow Flora, not the way she's been doing. Carin says she was forced into prostitution, but Harvey doesn't care.

There's a new police captain, replacing Torres, his name is Sanchez, has a shaved head. This guy is smart, he immediately tells Imanuol that Candelario has a mother named Belen, a brother named Dixon, and a sister named.....Flora Diaz! There may be several Flora Diaz's, but Imanuol doesn't believe in coincidences, and knows Flora is involved. He later asks Silvie if Flora was Sofi's friend before the first attempt on the Santa Helena. Well, no. This clinches it. Silvie is also shocked, but it's pretty clear Flora has been around everything with the Santa Helena. There's no actual proof, but they're pretty sure. Imanuol later tells Vicente his suspicions, but Vicente says no way!

MADE IN CARTAGENA, Part 2

Agua Mala tells Cande he's going to show Harvey the memory card. By now, he's looked at it, and although it's a bit hard to see, it looks as if Mireya did something wrong with Robinson. Cande won't allow this, and pulls a knife on Agua Mala. Give it here! Agua Mala does. Then Cande softens, says, look man, I'm not really working with Mireya, I'm just using her for information. I'm really on YOUR side, brother. If Harvey finds out, he'll probably kill YOU, not just Mireya. So we need to stick together. I think Cande tells him Harvey killed his father, too. Agua Mala agrees not to show Harvey the memory card.

Celina tells Flora she WANTS Flora to go on the champeta tour with Watusi, which was the prize from the contest. Apparently, she loves Watu so much, and he wasn't going to go at all, but she knows it's his dream, so she wants Flora to go. Flora and Carin are a bit shocked by this.

Sabroso corners Watu, makes him open up his bag, and finds out that Harvey paid for Sabroso's operation. You fool! You're ruining your life. You're heading into a life of crime. You KNOW who Harvey is, and now you're working for him!??? Yes, everything's falling apart.

And what about Cande's job of having to kill Calbache? Well, the whole crew goes down to the rail yard to pull it off. Max, Blatcho and Mireya are hidden, guns ready. Harvey tells them he wants Cande to shoot Calbache, then they're to kill all the guards. The idea is that Harvey won't have killed Calbache, Candelaria will have, so Harvey won't be in trouble with “the Shadow” (the big boss). Of course, Harvey doesn't tell this to Cande. In the rail yard, as they wait for Calbache, we see Cande write something on his forehead in greasepaint. Calbache's SUV comes up, and he gets out with his guards. As Blatcho and the rest look on, ready to shoot, Cande slyly points to his forehead, and Calbache reads it. It says “shoot me”! Calbache does a double take, then as Cande pulls his weapon, Calbache shoots Cande in the chest! The others are shocked, both sides shoot each other, but no one else is hit. Harvey tells everyone to leave Cande to die and get out of there. Max isn't happy about this. Mireya sneaks up to Cande, wipes the marker off his forehead, takes out his and her earbuds so Harvey can't hear, and says, you okay, honey? He's fine. He had a metal plate inside his shirt!

Later, he appears back at Harvey's headquarters, and shows him the plate. Harvey is shocked. But how did Calbache know it was a trap? You must be the sapo. No, says Cande, it's your cellphones which he must have broken into. You know me by now, I'll put my hands into the fire for you, I'm no snitch!

And you know what? Cande has managed to make Mireya, Agua Mala and Max all very unhappy with Harvey. If he convinces Blatcho, Harvey may find himself in deep doo doo. Let's hope!!!!!!

Olga tells Frank that Felix cheated on Toni - he had an affair with her best friend, Paula. Frank says, "I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!" Olga swears him to secresy - they spit and shake to seal the pact.

Mario is in his new employment warehouse duds. He asks Delfina for a special favor - Delfina is annoyed (and still angry) and refuses to do it. Mario then pulls Millie aside and tells her "Thank you". She is stunned and asks "For what?" He explains that she is helping him learn and understand a lot. "Like what?" she wonders. He explains how he is learning so much about boxes - stacking them, moving them, stuffing them. He asks her to teach him about trucks. "Trucks? What about trucks?" she asks. He responds, "I want to learn about filling them. Like how many boxes does it take to totally and completely fill a truck?" She has to think for a minute, then gives her best guess "possibly 1,000 boxes". He is intrigued by the amount (and thinks about the dollar figure attached to all those boxes/products.).

Paula and Toni are having lunch at a luxury restaurant. They talk about Felix - Toni is unhappy with Felix living in her house. After awhile, they talk about work.

Mario finds Millie at her desk - and starts to ask her more questions before he returns to his work.

Outside in the rain, Frank walks Olga back to Copito. They are talking. She tells him that she wants to keep their friendship a secret - she doesn't want any gossip in the office, and especially doesn't want any problems with his wife, Lorena.

Toni returns from lunch to meet with Felix in his office. Felix covers his heartbreak/pain with an excuse cover story about paparazzi and press. She doesn't really believe him.

Millie finds Mario behind a 'fort' of boxes, laying down on the job. She tells him to get back to work - he tells her to leave him alone, he'll get back to it soon. She leaves. Mario gets a phone call from Paula. She tells him about her lunch conversation with Toni (about Felix). She tells him to do whatever he has to do to get his car keys - she needs a car tonight (it's very important).

Toni asks Felix for his phone. She tells him she will be spending the night with Paula. He isn't happy with it and tries to convince her not to go - she warns him about tossing him and his stuff out on the street. He agrees to her request.

Toni goes back to her office - Lorena and Emilio enter - Lorena and Toni debate who will get Alexandra for a secretary. Emilio has to play neutral mediator.

Felix returns home and talks with Copito, the bulldog. Felix needs all the help he can get to convince Toni to stay with him. Actor arrives - he has been hired by Felix to play a very well-respected marriage therapist. Felix instructs the actor to convince Toni not to leave him and their marriage.

Toni tells Emilio she is leaving the office for the day. As the elevator doors open, Toni and Mario scare each other. Emilio can't help but laugh to himself at the sight. (I can't help laughing either.) Toni leaves on the elevator. Mario greets Emilio and then walks to Felix's office. Mario searches the desk and the file cabinet - he finds his car keys and kisses them. He spots a flashdrive (or something) on the desk and hides it in his pocket.

Later, Mario leaves Copito in his grey suit. He is so happy to see his little red VW bug that he kisses it. He hops in the car and drives away.

Toni arrives home. Felix presents the therapist and they go to the living room. Therapist (with Felix's help) starts his performance. Toni has lots of questions about the therapist's background. Felix and the therapist work together to try to convince her this is for real. (Toni seems bored or uninterested).

MADE IN CARTAGENA:

Thanks Hombre for doing the recap last night. Wow! A lot happened last night -- explosions aplenty and lots of anvils hanging over Harvey's and Flora's heads.

La Patrona -

thanks Hombre!

could Veronica have been more tempting to Alejandro,
both so deeply emotionally conflicted,
does Alejandro know,
did he ask for forgiveness and she said no,
did they reach an unspoken agreement that he would stay out of her way?

I don't remember Pati being one of the twelve, but now her face is with the others,
seems like she could be an ally of Gabriela's
and what did she hear Antonia say to Anibal,
they had a son?
(let see Alejandro starts with an A as well)

something about Lucho always leaves me uneasy,

seems like Veronica could make short work of these Bozos,
except for Antonia,
but I guess the idea is that they suffer, over time, like she did....

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

I was chuckling a lot last night:

- Over cocktails w/Ariel, Bianca thought some guy resembled Bruno from a distance
- Bruno seeing a mannequin come to life as Bianca
- Eliana moving into the Piamonte house
- Flavia asking Katia to hand her the phone, when it was just within F's reach
- Nina looking in Bruno's room, and seeing Eliana's stuff strewn all over the floor
- Bruno suggesting that Bianca organize his engagement party
- Santi referring to B & B separately as lovebirds

Pobrecito Brunito - moping in his room alone, missing everyone? or just Bianca. was he crying when Ariel called? I'm surprised Bruno doesn't resent Bianca's constant references to his 'forever student status.'

EL ROSTRO

I have to agree with the anonymous person regarding Alivas love for dMart.

While i feel really bad for Aliva if I was Vero I wouldve kicked her ass on live tv after the interview.

Quien Eres Tu?

a flop? really? darn shame.

wish they'd bring it back on air.

LA PATRONA

Deb, I've been convinced from the beginning that Alejandro is Aníbal's son. Patti did overhear A&A talking about THEIR son. The reason I thought that was how excessively fond Aníbal was of Ale at the beginning, comparing Ricardo unfavorably.

Alejandro said to Verónica that he gave Gaby bad love. He didn't stand up for her or save her from the nuthouse. It wasn't exactly an apology, but I know it moved her. She cried after he left.

Hombre, I can't stand the thought of Gertrudis killing off that sweet old lady so Valentina is the heiress sooner rather than later. I also didn't like how Valentina bought her evil step-mother's new caring attitude.

I hope David isn't really falling for Valentina. She belongs with Max.

Yeah, it was surprising how cruel Vero-Gaby was to her son.

The one who really needs to be at the top of the list is Macario. I shudder every time they replay that scene of his kicking her and punching her to cause the miscarriage in the nuthouse.

It was pretty amazing how they faked all those google results that the various characters find when they look for Verónica Dantés.

LA PATRONA

novelera - glad I didn't watch what Macario did to Vero/Gaby, cuz it sounds very upsetting and disturbing. I too was amazed with google seach of her.

deb - it seems Lucho is now just an insignificant background noise so to speak. wonder what the writers have in store for him. i found him amusing in the beginning, and I liked him.

LA PATRONA

I too thought how clever to put on that stuff on the net in case the rats decided to check her out.

I think Gaby had to be tough on David so as to not give away who she really is. In any case he is a snotty brat and a little cruelty won't hurt him.

Can't help wondering about security at La Fortelezza. Everybody and his mother (Ale & David) just stroll into Gabby's room without being challenged and how did they know where it was?) Oh right Telenovelaland

LA PATRONA

Decie Girl - I think she must have alerted security that Ale & David, perhaps Max and his Mom too, who are the ones allowed without having to check them.

LA PATRONA

I think the venganza has started with Gabriela/Vero's subtle (and not so subtle) but effective maneuvering to separate Antonia from the herd/pack of lobos. It certainly made AniMal and the others a bit nervous when Antonia showed up at the party uninvited and angry. And Julio is unsettled with the prospect of Prude challenging Antonia for country club pres.

By dividing the pack and pulling the lobos closer to her, Gaby/Vero is not only alienating Antonia from the pack, but also making the others dependent upon Vero. All along Gaby has said that Antonia is her worst enemy, and she wants Antonia on her knees.

Patty is not one of the original 12 lobos on the venganza list. Maybe she is now included because Gabriela found out about the affair with Ale.

Novelera, I thought it was pretty funny that Alberto and David were scouring the internet for info on Veronica. Reminded me of that TV commercial that says you can't put anything on the internet that's not true. LOL.

Very sad that Gabriela/Vero spoke to David so cruelly, but she had said several eps back that David is still a child and could not be trusted with the truth. ie, she was afraid he'll spill the beans to Antonia - or someone - and ruin her plans.

Agree that Gaby/Vero was really putting it to Ale with her sexy black lingerie and stockings. But her tears after he left show that she still loves him.

Too funny - Ricardo's red mouth after Patty kissed him. Her lipstick is AWFUL - I just want to scrub it off and tell her to go pink.

And is there no end to Antonia's greed and cruelty! I screamed at the screen when she made plans for Patches to care for Grandma at the rancho. Maybe Vero can somehow intervene?!

Beth

LA PATRONA

Beth - ugh yes ... Patty's lipstick. and she and her Mother's hair always seem like they haven't been washed in a week.

LA PATRONA

Shallowgal, there was a time that I thought Vero-Gaby might end up with Lucho. But he hasn't reformed. He keeps rebelling and not towing the line (especially about wearing the burka!). And he had definite plans to bed Julio's hooker girlfriend until he had to get away fast.

Since he hasn't really changed, I guess we can expect Vero-Gaby and Ale to end up together.

Oh, one more thing, I'm worried about Lucía. Last night they talked about blood tests. Leukemia? They don't usually kill off small kids in TNs but we may be in for more suffering for Ale.

Pasion Prohibida

Shallowgal, I haven't had the time to watch the TN today, so I am trying to stay spoiler free (haven't read your post, and it looks so interesting). I will try to watch it in the next few hours, or tomorrow with the new episode.

Can't wait, having 2 shows to watch back to back is like a special gift :))

LA PATRONA

Yes, Novelera! Good catch. I wonder how Lucia's illness is going to effect the plot? At first I thought her fever was a convenient way for Ale to avoid/delay meeting Veronica, but now I'm not sure since the MD said her "count" (? blood count) is off. And Ale certainly deserves to suffer. Maybe she'll need the requisite TN blood transfusion - or even a bone marrow transplant!

Beth

PASIÓN PROHIBIDA

AdrianaNoel - I will be patient and wait for your post; eagerly looking forward to it.

Pasion Prohibida

Ok, Shallowgal, I watched Thursday's episode and read your post; here are some of my thoughts while watching:

-Nina's new boyfriend might be trouble down the line, but Nina herself is a handfull, so...
-Bianca on holiday still thinking about Bruno and seeing his face everywhere - love it
-poor Bruno, he is really struggling with this, locked in his room, boxing, I bet he really missed Bianca, not the others, that is why he went after them
-when Bruno told Bianca that he thinks the distance won't solve anything, because on his part everything is already frozen (although this is supposed to be about Nina, not him, riiight?), I am thinking: yeah, frozen, if there is a special place in Hell for the kind of frozen you feel
-Bianca is really rude to Bruno most of the episode, laughing at his lack of interest in studying and the wedding; in my opinion, the attacks she always initiates about his school are just a way for her to keep him a little less desirable; Ariel is a very succesful man, while Bruno is anything but - if she keeps reminding everyone (and herself) that Bruno hasn't really accomplished much so far, I think this is her way to cope
-Bianca's disagreement with ELiana moving in has nothing to do with the fact that Eliana might want to be a lady of the manor, too, or that the kids might be given a bad exemple - all Bianca does and says these days is about Bruno, Bruno, Bruno
- it must be really hard living in the same house as the one you pine for - this thing between B&B has become a lot more than lust, they are both slowly going crazy
-If Ariel goes to Washington and ELiana to New York, that means it's GAME ON for B&B. Finally!
