PEAM, Tuesday 4/30/13 (#37): Father Knows Best

(Now that I've seen the whole episode I don't think that was such a great title, but oh well. Maybe Father will know best tonight.)

Vero takes all of Chucho's cash and his bus tokens and leaves Orion. That company really needs a better policy for employee guests.

Rogue sees Discua winking at Fernando and suddenly realizes why his brother has been so particularly idiotic lately. (Actually, Rogelio, you were shockingly slow to figure that out. Who's the imbécil now?) Fern says he's got a spiritual force-field to protect him from Rogue's bad vibes. He says something about Jesus (the religious one) and Rogue shudders. "Don't invoke that name!" I only mention it because I neglected to include a similar scene in last week's recap when someone said "encanto" to Chucho and he reacted the same way upon hearing Fernando's old nickname for him.)

At Orion, the Two Sillies accuse confront Chucho with their discovery that he, personally, delivered a new/revised application to the Camera, er, Chamber of Cosmetics this morning - on Avon's behalf. They remind him that he can go to prison for industrial espionage. Gee, who saw that coming? Hahahaha.

So THAT'S how the writers deal with portraying Avon as a den of gangsters and gossips: they create a fictitious rival that's just as bad. Brilliant!

Mari teases Susana for being so distracted. Ha ha, Mari says, that wouldn't have anything to do with the unexpected arrival of Alma's dad, would it? Susana denies it. They receive word that Elias is on his way. Maricela excitedly prepares to greet him.

Speaking of dads, Pánfilo is picking up the trash at Chatita's and she lets him know (after a long and exasperating preamble) that his daughter spent the night safely at her house. She also summarizes all the relationships between Rogelio, Alma, Xochi, Chucho, Mari, etc., which confuses him.

The Two Sillies are pretty desperate to get their bonus - a thousand MILLION pesos apiece - if Orion wins the coveted endorsement, so rather than send Chucho to jail, they'll blackmail him to help them cheat.

Elias asks Mari for a triple-espresso.

Alma gives Sebastian, her father, the keys to her apartment so he can take a nap or chill or whatever while she and Rogue meet with Eli. Rogue asks to have a word with him privately first. Alma goes on to the meeting. Rogue tells Sebastian that he's absolutely sure Alma's having a thing with that secretario. Seba questions why a smart guy like Rogue can't handle this himself, but agrees to take care of it.

In the executive lobby, Sebastian bids Susana a special, lingering adieu from a distance, which she returns with equally detached wistfulness. Wow, these two are subtle. I'm sure no one noticed.

Elias apologizes to Alma for being late to their meeting, which was already delayed due to all of his problems this morning. He's still flustered and sheepishly admits that he hasn't done any work on their campaign at all. Rogue is furious. They paid him big bucks for this thing and they need a campaign to go live in two weeks.

Rogue huffs out. Eli explains some of his troubles to Alma. She is very understanding and says she'll convince Rogue to give him more time. "I can see why Jesus puts you on a pedestal," Eli says. She is flattered and intrigued.

Over Fernando's protests, Rogue calls Elias's employer and tattles. The employer assures Rogue that Eli will be fired. Rogue gloats. Then Alma comes in and tells Rogue he HAS to give Eli two more days!

At Orion, Chucho mentally weighs his debt to Vero against the bonus for Orion's win. He is taunted by floating clip art. He asks his secretary what she'd do if she found a magic lamp that could make all of her problems go away. She says she wouldn't have to think twice - she'd go for it. (I believe he neglects to mention that the magic lamp he's thinking of is illegal.)

Meanwhile, a guy from the One And Only Bank Of Monterrey knocks on Chucho's door and is intercepted by Chatita. He explains that "the owner" is FOUR MONTHS (did I hear that right? It takes a lot longer than that in the US) behind on his payments and if he doesn't cough it all up pronto they're going to seize all his property. Chatita tries to talk him out of it and offers him coffee and treats. [Thanks to Pablo for this detail: Chatita offers the guy poison, among a variety of other things like machaca (dry meat with eggs or tomato salsa), miguitas (like chilaquiles but without the eggs), and frijoles.] He seems tempted at first, because he didn't have breakfast this morning, but I guess he reconsiders because of the poison.

Vero is having a personal therapy session with Marta, the "life coach." In her gentle way, Marta explains that Vero let Valentina down. Vero has to realize that she makes mistakes, just like every other human being. While Vero spews denials, Marta flashes back to meeting Eli. It's a happy memory. She snaps back to the present and asks Vero, why did you marry him? Vero smiles and says he's handsome, creative, and caring. (Marta reveals that she met him - because Valentina called and asked her to come over. This is the first Vero's heard of Marta's house call!) Vero recalls how much in love he was with her - but she didn't marry him for love, but out of depression over breaking up with Chucho.

Yvonne tries to flirt with Eli as Mari accompanies him to the elevator. Mari shoos her away. She tries to cheer Eli up, but then Ric crowds in, cramping Mari's style. He can tell that Eli is a rival and he whines about it to his friends later. (Also, it turns out that Gil's wife has forgiven him. Aren't you relieved? And Cardenas still holds out hope for a chance with Jess.)

Chatita calls Chucho to tell him that she offered someone meatballs. After another tediously cute exchange, she tells him about the bank and the four months of owed money. Under different circumstances he could just stay somewhere else for a while until he gets his first paycheck, but Vero took his last peso. He is more tempted by that million-peso bonus than ever.

He calls Alma for another lunch meeting. She eagerly accepts, perhaps forgetting that her dad's still waiting for her at the apartment. She tells Xochi she's meeting Chucho. Xochi has another kindergarten-quality note for Alma to pass Chucho in study hall. She complains to Sue or Mari (I've forgotten) that Alma meets with him at every opportunity. Thinking she's being sly, she calls Chucho to ask him about lunch. He tells her he's meeting Alma. Nice try, Xochi!

In Fernando's office, Discua weeps with joy over Fernando's transformation. He's so grateful to her. He invites her to lunch. Jess watches with envy as they leave the office together.

Rogue asks Jess if she knows what's going on between his brother and that chick. Jess doesn't know any more about that than we do, but she tells him something else: Alma's gone to lunch with Chucho.

Next time:
Fernando kisses Discua? And Paty unloads on Alma.

Comments:
Howdy folks,
I apologize for conking out so early, but I'm exhausted and now fighting a migraine. Springtime does not agree with me, I think. I haven't even watched the entire episode yet.

Hopefully I will watch the rest of it either when I wake up in the middle of the night for no good reason, or first thing in the morning, and provide a condensed recap later in the morning.

However, if anyone wants to cover any portion of the episode in comments tonight, rest assured that you will NOT hurt my feelings!

Sorry... I feel like Vero... sleeping Vero, I mean, not screechy bus-fare-snatching Vero.

Julie:

Thanks so much for this part 1 and please take your time. I hope your migraine is gone in the morning. This was a dippy epi, lol. Discua really has Ferny all upside down, but I DO like the new Ferny. He is so civil, I watch his every move to see if he will revert back. The only thing I saw was him gently touch his moustache, lol.

I don't like the two new sillies blackmailing Chucho but will he cave? They listen to all his phone convos and know exactly what he is up to.

Elias does need that coffee, he is lookin' rough, but Mari is all over him as bad as Xochi is all over Chucho. Pobrecita Susanna, I think that Alma's Papa IS her old love/crush. She can't seem to keep her eyes off him.

Chatita was funny again with trying to remember what she had to say to Panfilo. I am glad she finally got it out.

Looking forward to your part two.

Thanks for your work. Take your time, you gave us plenty of important points to ponder. So sorry about the head pains.

I too am watching Fernando with bated breath for him to slip back to his old ways while enjoying this respite with kind words. Discua sure knows how to play him though, perhaps because of her spiritual clarity? Jessica is looking astounded at losing her powers of persuasion over Ferny.

Julie--you just rest. Last thing with a migraine you need is to be watching a crazy TN. I agree with Madeleine, bit of a dippy episode. Felt like filler to me.

I also like the new and improved Fern and would love to see him continue like this is only that it will aggravate Rog to no end ( since he does all the dirty work). Jessica is starting to be aggravating--and I am amazed how she continually is hanging around the offices yet works in the warehouse? Boss doesn't seem to mind so they might has well get her a desk with some pretense of doing something.

Vero--too much Vero. Gees, everyone was whiny last night, but I bow to that therapist having to listen to her.

Oh, and Cheryl thanks for yesterday's recap. It was great. I took off work and did the Vivi pamper day out. (Have something to do on my birthday Sunday, so I hit the shops, lunch and fun yesterday.)

Daisy

Thanks, Julie. Sorry about your migraine. I tutored a Russian woman who got migraines a few years ago. I had read that magnesium helped migraines, and she tried it and told me that it seemed to help. Hope that you are feeling better today. It's hard to function when you don't feel well. Cheryl~~~I liked the ''spiritual clarity'' comment. Discua is fervent about her religion, and Fer seems fervent...about Discua....or am I just being cynical ??? I wonder how Alma's dad will like spending some time in The Carousel of Progress ? Do you think the building spins like the one at Disney World ? [word ID to prove that I am not a robot : apseform God.......hmmmm...more spiritual clarity ? ]

Happy day after your bday, Daisy. Everyone should pamper her/himself once in awhile...or all the time if possible...but especially on a birthday.

Feel better Julie. No worries if you can't finish. Like everyone said, this episode was mainly filler. I can't believe Jesus is even considering doing anything dirty to get the money he so needs. Glad he called Alma to talk it out with someone.

Happy Birthday Daisy!!! Glad you gave yourself a pamper day. You deserve it amiga.

NOv. 6th (10:30-12:30)

Those are the coins we use in México! Those look like bus tokens and some smaller look like buttons or washers, ridiculously small, but that's the way they are! What I don't understand is, if he gave her 1,085 pesos, and the thousand was the bills, two coins for 85 pesos doesn't make any sense... there's no 35 pesos, or worse, there's no 42.5 pesos coins that I know of!!
(wait a second, let me go get my Faraday Cage)

OK. Much better now!

NOw I understand how in the world the garbage truck goes everyday to the only three neighborhoods in Monterrey, why Chatita offers ''veneno'' (poison*) to the guy from the Bank, and why Jesús, being sooooo honest and an excellent promise keeper, STILL THINKS ABOUT GIVING IN!!
I know 1 million pesos is 1 million pesos, but he shouldn't even be thinking about it!!! Bad Jesses!

Something is really wrong with Discua. Her ''Stepford wife'' programming is malfunctioning. Only three winks last night.

*Chatita offers the guy poison, among a variety of other things like machaca, miguitas, frijoles (veneno was not translated by the Caption Lady, and for miguitas she used sandwich), etc.
You all know what machaca is (dry eat with eggs or tomato salsa) and miguitas is something like chilaquiles, but without the eggs, just the pieces of tortilla fried and with some picante salsa.
I wonder if the veneno was some kind of joke?

If there is something I hate more than product placements, are those pop ups when Jesús is thinking and he can see words, things, pictures, floating around his head, yew!

Vocabulary:

Tracalera- Person who owes and doesn't want to pay
Grandotas aunque me peguen- (regarding women) tall even if they hit me
De la patada- Very bad
Las malas lenguas- Tongues that gossip

Julie...amazing that you can write so clearly and with so much humor while suffering a migraine. Hopefully you will feel better today. Don't worry about finishing the recap...judging from the commenters, I'd say everyone here understands Spanish and now that closed captions exist in English as well, those who don't have a fallback position.

Pablo, thanks as always for the vocabulary..."tracalera" is new to me (or I've just forgotten it) so I will work on retaining that one today!

Julie, I'll watch this later today, but will be sending you healing vibes or healing prayers, whichever you prefer!

Thanks, all. I still have a headache now, but I wouldn't call it a migraine. Just a nuisance pain in the head. Judy, it seems the worse of a mood I'm in, the better my sense of humor. If I'm ever grumpy AND not funny, you'll know something's wrong. But I knew it was time to stop typing last night when I was starting to have trouble with English, let alone Spanish.

Susanlynn - funny you should mention magnesium. I took it for a long time but then stopped, thinking it wasn't helping. But I continued taking calcium and discovered that I wasn't absorbing the calcium very well without the magnesium. So, effective last night, I'm back on magnesium!

Thanks for your help, Pablo. I thought those were regular coins at first but the amount didn't make sense - so when he mentioned bus fare I figured they were tokens! (Admittedly very costly tokens.) I also got the amount of the bonus wrong - it's a million pesos, not a thousand. Okay, that really is a life-changing amount of money for most people, even in the US! That endorsement from the Camera of Cosmetics must be one hell of a deal!

I'm sure "veneno" was a joke on Chatita's part. No doubt the bank guy knows that people like him aren't welcome in a neighborhood where he's kicking people out of their homes. She more or less told him as much.

I do have enough notes to finish the recap in a bit. It'll be short - fortunately not much happened last night, but some of what did happen was pretty neat!

After I watch this episode again on Hulu, where I can pause it and get a better definition that the old TV, I will be able to dissect it more accurately. I will be able to tell the value of the coins, and so on...

Bus fare in Monterrey should be around 10 pesos (single trip), so I am sure that the amount in bills should have been 1,070.00 with a 10 and a 5 pesos coins...

If there was only one bill, or not the right number of bills, then perhaps it wasn't actually a bill, but a check for some oddball amount?

I am sure I saw several bills, different sizes and colors. That was ''everything'' he had on him, but then he decided to give her the small change too, two coins, which he described as 'money for the bus'-

They cheaply put all together (Veronica's fit, the guy from the Bank, etc) so we think he is being ''forced'' by the circus-tamces (remember Madonna posing nude before she was a star and she was ''starving''?).

Regardless, I still think someone with Jesús integrity, shouldn't even consider cheating. After all, what is Valentina going to say when she finds out?

I thought he really was going to cheat, but then he called Alma. Perhaps she will float him a loan. Just think how much Rogue would like THAT!

Oh, forgot to mention, recap's done :)

Oh, and never mind what Valentina would say about cheating - the one whose wrath I'd REALLY dread is Chatita!

Thanks for the quotation.

We all know that Discua will not kiss (voluntarily) anybody so easily, so I am guessing this is another trick. Also, Pati expressing out loud what she thinks have to be her imaginary Dr Hyde side, where we witness what she only wishes she could say!
This is some cheater TN!
I am sure they don't need this arsenal of deceiving tricks to lure us to watch the next episode, as silly as we all know it will be!!

Wonderful that your sense of humor is intact, even when all else is going to hell!-- probably the secret of your resiliency, Julie. And glad you're back on magnesium if that will help. It's all a mystery to me, I must say. If I have something Advil can't cure, I'm in big trouble!

Still haven't seen this, but doubt that Chuch' would ever stoop to cheating. He's managed to avoid all pitfalls so far...but by the skin of his teeth.

Pablo, do you mean you think the kiss is a trick of editing (like it's really Fernando's daydream or something unreal like that), or do you mean it's a trick of Discua's? I still think she's working a scam on him!

You're probably right about Paty, though. I didn't even catch what she was saying. I figured either she was fantasizing what she wanted to say to Alma, or Alma was dreading what Paty would say to her.

Could work either way, but I was thinking editing. I am giving Discua the benefit of the doubt.

I am sure Pati won't say that to Alma at this time, besides, the voice sounded like one of those GRIMM monsters, and that only means one thing: As fake as Rebeca exposing Eva's boobs! We all saw them right?

Another thing! I am watching MOnday's episode and I saw Chatita has a new Rompope bottle plus another one with a red label (maybe sherry), just in case Veronica shows up again thirsty!! LOL!

Thanks, Julie, for the great recap in spite of your migraine.

It was so good to see Verónica come clean about her feelings for Jesús. I just feel sorry for Elías.

Jarifa

Thanks for the recap Julie. I hope you feel better and your headaches stop. I like your take on Discua but I'm not sure she'll that slick - time will tell.

Add me to the list of those who are enjoying new Fer. He will completely drive his brother insane if this extends to their dirty dealings.

Julie:

Thanks so much for your great part two, and glad the majority of the headache is gone. You really are a trooper and hope you are feeling much better.

I too don't think that Chucho will cheat. I agree with you Julie, that's why he called Alma. I too think he might ask her for a loan.

I'm on the fence about Discua. I don't know if she is a scam artist or if she is for realz. I do like what she has done to Ferny though. He is such a gentleman now and I hope he doesn't revert back to his old ways.

Rogue is sooo dim! I'm surprised he hasn't hooked up with Jess. Couldn't you just see the two of them, plotting and planning? They'd make a great dim team, lol.

So Vero never loved Elias. I too feel sorry for him. Now what is Vero going to do?

Poor Chucho with no place to live? Hopefully that is taken care of tonight. I too think that what Chatita told the bank man about poison was a bad joke. Unless she meant as in drink, you know what's your poison? I used to hear that in old movies.

That voice in the previews with Patymelt, reminded me of horror movies where the person speaking is possessed. Creepy voice! Maybe this is Patymelt's nightmare, like Rogue's the other day.

Daisy:

Belated Happy Birthday. I hope you had a great day!

Julie, thanks so much for the terrific and funny recap. So sorry to hear about your headache though. I sure couldn't tell from reading your recap.

Cheryl, a belated thanks to you too. I didn't get a chance to read your hilarious recap until this morning. The recaps by you and Julie are a great way to start the day.

What a very interesting revelation Vero made about her reason for marrying Elias! Poor Chucho, his life just got a whole heck of a lot more complicated. As if he needs it.

I also like the new, improved, and mellowed-out Fernando. The actor is doing a fine job with this role.

Pablo, good catch on Chatita's new Rompompe bottle. She is certainly a great hostess, always ready with the Rompompe and healing (if not poisonous) soups and food. Carmen Salinas sure knows how to command a scene.

Happy Birthday Daisy!

Julie, thanks for bringing us the recap despite your struggles with the headache. Hope it continues to improve. It's no fun to function with that kind of static in your head.

"tediously cute" is so true for Chatita. She's a sweetheart, but I'm equally amused and annoyed with her. (Yes, I do know she can't help it and she is extremely kind to others.)

Discua seems sincere to me, but I'm not so sure about Fernando's "conversion." I would like to see him do more dancing, however.

La Paloma

On the one hand, I can't imagine Chucho ASKING Alma for money. But it would be just like her to make him take it.

On the other hand, it occurs to me that if she does give him money, then no matter how it happens or how they try to explain it later, it will look as though she paid him to influence (or avoid influencing) the outcome of the competition for the Camera's endorsement.

Hmm.

Maybe he's just going to warn her of the situation so she can be prepared, and ask for her advice.

I don't think Vero said she NEVER loved Elias. Just that love wasn't why she married him. In fact, when she was talking about him, the expression on her face suggested that she DID love Elias, but her love for him was complicated by or contaminated by her feelings for Chucho. Like maybe she doubted her love for Eli because she knew she was still thinking about Chucho too.

Similarly, I believe that Fernando's conversion is sincere, but it is complicated/contaminated/motivated by his glands. He is certainly a lot more fun this way, though!

Gee thanks all for the b'day wishes. We will NOT go into how many years, I gave up counting. All a state of mind, right??

Julie--you rocked the rest of the recap!! Special kudos to you for being such a trooper.

Poor Elias, man needs a hug. I volunteer!! But I think I feel more sorry for him because of how strongly he feels for little Val. I think Elias right now seems to be a having a worse time of it than Chucho. That said though...that house that Elias and Vero have is HUGE!! so who's got the money if Elias could be at the mercy of his employer...little confused on that if anyone has some insight??

Check in later, back to work. Only problem with a pamper day is the next day back at work with the 67 emails to deal with.

Daisy

Thanks, Daisy, and happy belated birthday to you. (I am obviously NOT good at keeping up with these things!)

I think the money is all Elias's. I remember Vero bragging a while back that Eli's work paid really well. Even if he does get fired (which he probably won't, now that Alma is insisting that Rogue give him two more days), he probably won't be out of work for long.

But for all we know, the house could have belonged to his parents, or Vero's. Seriously, I think many of the people who have big homes rely on an employer for their paycheck. (And/or are offered way more credit than they comfortably pay back.)

MY question is, now that Eli has two days to come up with a great campaign, whose ideas will he use? The brilliant ideas of Chucho, former secretario? Or... well, there aren't any other ideas, apparently. Maybe soon we'll find out what that great slogan was.

Tks so much Julie

Maybe Chatita's reference to poison is similar to when we say "name your poison" when asking someone what they want to drink.

Thanks, Julie! I don't know how you manage that with a headache, and make it funny, too. I hope you're feeling better.

I couldn't figure out why Elias said he had nothing. Didn't he love the idea Chucho came up with, and they did a photo shoot and everything? Why couldn't he at least talk about that? Or postpone the meeting and spend a little time frantically pulling something together before going to Avon? Poor Elias is falling apart.

I hope Chucho is meeting with Alma to ask to be rehired at Avon, due to the abysmal ethics of Orion. There must be some open position there.

I'm not sure Alma is going to have to worry about whether to marry Rogue. With all his rage fits, he will probably give himself a stroke or a heart attack one of these days.

I wonder how Rogue saved Sebastian's life. Something physical, or got him out of a sticky situation with thugs, I wonder? It must have been something big if Sebastian is willing to sell off his daughter to this rat, or maybe he's just a really terrible father.

Julie, so sorry to hear your head is fighting with your heart (to give us what we want...). If you want to get better, rest and do not watch any telenovelas for at least 6.5 hours.

I didn't get to watch this episode (I was madly preparing my QBA recap), so this was providential.

So, Cayetano has been resurected and is now Alma's Dad-with-mysterious-backstory-that-might-or-might-not-involve-Susana-and-sports-an-expensive-gold-watch.

Wait a minute, Chucho and Chatita know full well that the bank man could arrive any moment and throw him out. He's been squatting, remember? What will be interesting is whether bank man will let him stay, providing he pays the back "rent" (gee we just had one of those on QBA) or whether he moves in with Chatita--after all, we know she will continue to figure prominently in everyone's lives from Vale up to and including Alma (and just about everyone from Avon!).

So, let's speculate on where he'll spend his first night as a born-again homeless person.
Will it be Xoxtchi? No way.
Will it be Jesse? She'd kill him first.
Will it be Discua? No her spiritual cleanliness wouldn't allow it.
Will it be Vero? Hmmm, quien sabe.
Will it be Eli? No, he's homeless himself.
Will it be one of the 5 (five) sillies? No, they have problems of their own.
Will it be Fern or Rogue? Last men on earth who'd be willing to house Haaysus.
Maybe Susana, she seems motherly, but is she disposed to Chucho?
Will it be Alma? Ha! It would be if Daddysnookums wasn't there.
That kind of leaves Chatita or Panfilo. Panfilo has an empty room and Chucho could help him fix up the shack. At Chatita's, Chucho and Elias would make strange bedfellows, but it might work.

Julie, your head may hurt but your thinking is quite clear. Hadn't thought about Orion accusing Jesus of taking a bribe from Avon if Alma lends him money just to give to Vero--who doesn't need it.

Where oh where is that drug money when you need it?

Great work Julie, and ALL you recappers. I am reading every one and the comments too even though I don't usually have a comment of my own. last night's episode seemed to be mostly filler, but raised a lot of questions anyway. Did anybody mention the look Alma gave Susana when she was waiting on Sebastian? Daggers.

I predict that Chucho will not succumb to the temptations of clip art. He will not ask Alma for money. But I don't think he has the power to truly reform Max. How will he avoid being fired or worse, if exposed by the sillies?

Elias and Jesus could become roomates. Elias funding the casa and Jesus inspiring Elias' creativity for the campaign. Then Valentina could visit her two papas at the same time, for a while. That is until Jesus and Alma move in together.

Oh, maybe Jesus and Sebastian could share a guest room at Alma's for a while!

I'm awfully glad Maricela is going to have a big helping of Chatita's warm hospitality and sage advice.

And somebody put a bucket over Xochi's head! It's hard to remember that she may still have a remarkable makeover and re emerge with grace and beauty. Meeting her mother a few episodes back explained a lot, but owwww...

Thanks to all for enriching my experience.

Pablo: I love the special Monterey insights and details.

Forgot to mention it earlier but Happy Belated Birthday Daisy. I hope most of your e-mails were like this episode non-important filler.

Anita - you list an interest set of possibilities for our possibly future homeless galan. I would like to see Chucho and Elias move in with one another.

fishknits - I did see Alma's face but not sure it was anger though she was clearly displeased. I am hoping we learn more about this situation soon.

Wow, did they say Rogue saved Sebastian's life? That went right over my head!

LOL, Anita. I'm feeling much better and I'm at work (which I'll get back to in a moment) but I will try to avoid TNs for the next 5.5 hours. :)

As for Chucho's place, I'm sure the bank doesn't care who's making the payments as long as the payments are made. But the place will still be in the actual owner's name. (I bet we'll see him again before all of this is over!)

I have no idea where Chucho will end up if he doesn't make the payment, but I bet he'll pay for the place before he pays Vero. I think the visit from the bank was just a courtesy call to give ten days' notice or something like that - he brought a thick envelope full of documents. If it had been time to seize the place he would have brought a truck and some muscle instead and one flimsy legal document authorizing the seizure. :) (I've seen this in at least four TNs now, so I'm used to it!)

Fishknits and Karen, I did see the look Alma gave Susana. I'd say it was vexation, quizzical anger, a "you've got some nerve" face but I couldn't tell if it meant "I KNOW what you're up to and I don't like it," or "I DON'T know what you're up to but I don't like it."

Ah...so many mysteries...and Daisy, Belated Happy Birthday wishes...April seems to be a fertile month for CarayCaray types. And as for how old you are, you will ALWAYS be younger than I am...much younger. Hope that helps!

Julie:

Maybe never was too strong a word for Vero about Elias and being in love when they married. I should have said, maybe Elias was the rebound guy and thinking about it, she does have feelings for Elias, but I don't think it is love. It is more like friends with benefits : )

oops--maybe better clarify--birthday is THIS Sunday, but many thanks for all the well-wishes. Guess I goofed in the telling?? Blame the 67 emails... Have one family celebration to spend the day at and then on to my son's college graduation weekend. Now that will be a party!!!

I vote for Chatita to take Chucho in. Really can't see him anywhere else at this point. (I would fall off my chair if Vero offered--but then again, that's one way to get close to him again.)

Daisy

Julie, Sebastian told Rogue that he wouldn't be around if not for him and owes him bigtime. The way he said it suggested he might be dead if Rogue hadn't saved him, but they offered no further details, so I don't think it's clear whether he literally meant he would be dead or just that his life would somehow be ruined. It's hard to imagine Rogue ever did anything for anyone other than himself...

I bet Patimelt would offer Haysoooos half of her bed :). Wouldn't that annoy Rogue! On the other hand, Rogue is actually paying for her place, so maybe she wouldn't taunt him that much.

Maybe the taxi guy needs a roommate.

Thanks, Julia. Another mystery! I'd rather see more of that kind of stuff and less of Chatita telling other people to pay attention while she forgets what she was going to tell them. ;-)

This is why your head hurts! Too much speculation! LOL!

For the role of Luisa (Chatita), I would have liked someone with more charisma or someone funnier, but what can we do if everyone's busy and Mrs Salinas was the only one available?
Suck it up!

Great recap! Julie
Feel better!!!
The title was fine, because we are not sure how Rogue is going to use his ace up his sleeve, so father may know best.
Finding a catchy title is usually a challenge for me.

"Taunted by floating clip art" -- JAJAJAJAJA. That was a good one.

Daisy, I like your style amiga. I've always believed that one's birthday should be celebrated all month long. Good for you for starting us off on May 1st.

Pablo, was Carmen Salinas really the only one available? I thought she was kind of a big star and would be able to pick and choose. Maybe she jumped at the chance to work with so many handsome, young guys in the cast.

Hahaha! I was just kidding! She likes to be the ''ajonjolí de todos los moles'' though, I wonder how she finds the time to be the spokeswoman in the entertainment business, work in AVENTURERA, do bits here and there in movies, infomercials, and then as the cherry in the cake, PEAM!!
She is non-stoppable!
I wish I had her energy at her age!! Hahaha!

On a serious note, she is appreciated by most people in the business, so I don't doubt, like they allowed her to use the name ''Chatita'' and use personal paraphernalia, that she chose to be here because of Fernando Colunga and other friends.
Unimás is rerunning MARIA LA DEL BARRIO, and she is there, along with FC and many more...
She can chose, and she does it right, where else can someone get paid to have a good time among friends?

O.M.G. I forgot Pattimelt. She would fight tooth and nail to get Chucho to spend the night with her. Thanks, Julia. Gotta watch the show tonight. See you all later.

Pablo, I've had the pleasure of seeing Aventurera twice. Carmen Salinas absolutely commands the stage. You are so right, her energy is stunning. Coincidentally, Ninel Conde (Discua) played the eponymous role in the second production I saw.
