TELEMUNDO Y MAS - week of April 22
Over to you.
Ciao!!
Labels: cielos, patrona, prohibida, telemundo
Deniz asks Yair if he saw Bruno kissing Nina. He thinks that Bruno and Nina got together to deny it and continues to insist that he saw it. Deniz asks if Yair saw her face. He admits that he didn’t but he cant think of anyone else since Eliana was at her apt. He asks if Deniz has a different suspect she says no. Bruno and Nina probably don’t want to look bad in front of Ariel. Yair is furious that Bruno is taking advantage of Nina and wants to tell Ariel. Deniz says to keep it a secret for now.
Nico and Penelope are eating dinner at Willys house. She wants to know more about Brunos secret lover. Nico asks why she cares. He can do whatever the hell he wants with his life. Willy shows up and Nico asks him why he invited him when supposedly he was pissed at him. Willy kisses the Top of Penelopes head and asks her to tell her hubby to calm down. Nico asks what he is hiding. Willy has a new partner. He handed over 75% of the contract. Nico reluctantly toasts with his dad.
In their bedroom Celeste asks why Yair wants to leave. Salo replies that Yair is heartbroken. He remembers the conversation they had shortly after Yair hit Sebas. Where Yair admits to Salo that he is in love with Nina. Celeste says that going to the Navy will help Yair mature. Salo thinks it will also help Cami get over Yair. Cami is crying in her room. Tere asks whats wrong but Cami refuses to talk.
Bianca is writing in her diary. Ariel asks if she will ever show him what she writes. She says it it only for her eyes. He says she has no reason to hide from her husband, but he wouldn’t read it without her permission. He wants them to go to their bedroom. She closes the diary.
The next morning, Deniz nearly trips over a towel in the kitchen and tells off the servants for not picking up the towels. Salo apologizes. Cami asks why Deniz was so angry. Tere says cuz Deniz nearly killed herself. Kat arrives and says that a bad mood is contagious. Yair says to say that to his face. Kat says she very direct. Celeste asks them to stop arguing.
Bruno is walking down the stairs when Deniz enters the house. She says good morning rather hasty. He wonders why she is pissed. Bruno learns from the Piamonte clan that Yair is joining the Navy. Nina says she is sad over Yairs leaving. Camila arrives with tea and Ariel asks that she summon Yair. Bruno drives Santi and Nina to school.
The phone rings in the kitchen. Kat picks up. It’s Gabriel. He wants to talk to Tere. Tere tells Kat to lie. Kat says that Tere isn’t around at the moment. Cami says Ariel called for Yair, but Salo says Yair left early and he will drive he kids to school. Cami says Bruno will do that. Katia hangs up saying Gabe talks to much. He wants to have coffee with Tere. It seems he has the hots for her. He even left her his number. This excites Tere.
Salo tells Ariel that Yair left early. Ariel thinks that Yair is hiding. Deniz intervenes and says that he left early for the Navy process. Ariel is pissed since Yair was supposed to talk to him first thing in the morning. Ariel is the boss not Salo or Deniz. They leave the living room.
Nina asks if Bruno is going to her graduation. He says he is. Nina is still mad at Yair and Bruno says he doesn’t want to here about Yair. Santi says. Yair was going to be Ninas prom date. Bruno finds it funny that Nina would dance with the chauffeur. “The lady and the tramp” he says. Nina says that she was going to invite Bruno but he didn’t want to go to a “kids dance”. They leave for school.
Bianca and Ariel kiss before he heads for work. Flavia shows up and says she cant stand Ariel when hes pissed. Bianca cant believe that Flavia says it just like that. Flavia says that like Yair, Deniz is planning to leave. She is searching for her own apt. when asked how she found out, Flavis says she and Deniz are best friends. Bianca says everyone in the house is doing thing behind his back. But that ends today.
Tere called the fisherman and is giddy after she hangs up. Celeste says Tere finally found a bf, but Tere says they’re just going for coffee. Salo tells the two that Ariel hasn’t been that pissed in a long time. When asked what happened, Salo responds that Ariel was pissed over Yair leaving early. Salo calls Yair telling him to come back to the Piamontes. He seemingly hangs up. When Tere asks what happened Salo leaves to look for Cami.
Cami is in Yairs room. She smells his shirt. Salo shows up and Cami drops the shirt. Salo asks if she wants to go with her relatives to Orlando. She could have fun or visit her relatives. Salo and Celeste have been secretly saving money for her to go to college in Boston. They almost have enough money for her studies. Salo says it time for Cami to spread her wings.
Bruno shows up at Elis apt. She thought that he didn’t want to see her again. She called him and he didn’t answer. He says that he showed up anyway. She wants to know why he cancelled the wedding. He says he didn’t say that but he didn’t want to get married so fast. She says that’s the same thing. Bruno doesn’t want to talk about that anymore. He says they will get married in time. He kisses her.
Bianca arrives at Pens house. Pen wants to apologize but Bianca is still pissed that Pen implied her to be a slut. Nevertheless, she forgives Pen, but doesn’t want to go shopping. Nuria calls Pen to tell her that Willy left for work in a good mood. He has a new strategy against the Piamontes. Nuria tried to call Nico but he was at a meeting. Pen promises to inform Nico. Pen tells Bianca that Willy wants revenge.
Ariel is at his office, furious at the executives that someone bought the land he was planning to buy. Nico promises to find out who bought the land.
Yair shows up at the Piamonte company looking for Ariel. The receptionist asks him to sit down. Ariel should be done any minute.
Ariel demands that Nico discover who bought their land. The president is Marcos Portello and the VP is none other than Guillermo Redondo. Nico and the execs promise to Ariel that they will do what they cen to get their land back.
Yair is called in Ariels office. Ariel tells him off “You think you can decide when you can talk to me?” Yair says that he couldn’t look him in the eye if he did. Ariel wants to know what he is talking about. Yair decides to tell him the truth.
Yair says that the truth is he wants to join the navy. Ariel says Yair should’ve talked to him for a better solution. Like college. But Yair insists that the navy is what he wants.
Nico calls Willy. He did it to hurt Ariels company. Willy says that this is revenge for what happened at the bidding.
Ariel says that Joining the Navy is no game. What if he is in the battlefield? Yair says that he hadn’t thought rationally at first but he claims he likes it. When asked when he starts Yair says that he has to wait for the doctors intructions. He took a test early this morning and he will get the results Friday. Ariel thinks Yair made a rash move and isn’t completely honeset. Ariel asks if he joined the Navy because of the argument he had with Bruno. Yair says no. Ariel says he deserves to know why they argued.
Bruno shows up to Ariels company. And the secretary says that Yair is talking to him.
Yair says that the argument was his fault. Bruno arrives and Ariel has Yair apologize to Bruno.
Tere is at the river with Gabriel. He flirts with her saying he would like to be her friend and even more (Later on). For now he wants coffee.
Deniz is walking down the hallway. She walks into Biancas bedroom. And finds the diary. Celeste calls for her. Deniz fixes the room before leaving. Celeste says a man came to drop off her dress. Celeste wants to know where she was. Deniz says she was cleaning Ninas room. And heads upstairs.
(At this point I was interrupted by a bulletin regarding the boston bombing so I don’t know how much I skipped……….)
(When the bulletin was over) Deniz is hanging Ninas dress. She has a flashback to a sick Isabel. She tells Deniz that the kids think of her like a second mother. She asks that Deniz care from them. She promises to do so. She gets teary-eyed after the flashback.
Yair is talking to Francis about him leaving for the navy. Francis says that Nina will be sad that he is leaving. Yair says he will still go to the prom with her. Francis tells him that Nina sees him as more than a brother, and Francis is like a mother to Yair. He asks if he is doing the right thing. She tells him that if hes following his heart then there is no right or wrong answer
Nina and Santi come home. Nina tells Celeste she is not sad but mad that Yair didn’t pick them up. Celeste cheers her up by saying Deniz has her prom dress. Nina and Santi head upstairs. Nina loves her dress. Santi says he needs a new tux since he has outgrown his old one. Nina asks if Deniz is okay and Santi thinks she is crying over his tux. He says he will keep his old one but that isn’t the problem. Deniz says she remembers when the two were little, and now Nina will graduate soon. Nina and Santi hug her and tell her they love her.
Some woman is calling Willy about how Flavia doesn’t believe her (I guess she tried to befriend her). Willy says to keep doing her job, but the woman wants to quit.
Nina heads downstairs and finds Yair. She wants to know where he was. He says he was getting ready for the navy. She says she is lying about not wanting to come to her ceremony. He says he cant because of the doctors appointment. She tells him if wont go to her ceremony, then he wont go to her prom either.
Bruno is summoned to Ariels office. He tells Bruno about how she extracted money from the bank. Bruno says there must be an explanation. Ariel says that Bainca planned to buy Nina a gift. But its weird since she took the money the day after she wanted a divorce. He than asks Bruno if he became good friends with Bianca…..
Patti manages to cover up Ricardito’s slip about mentioning Constanza by saying SHE bought the camera and said it was from his grandma. Aníbal looks skeptical but mostly buys it.
Guerra goes out in a sexy navy blue dress, making Poncia wonder what she’s up to.
David comes to bare his soul to his Tío Ale about getting caught in bed with Cecilia by Vero. Ale handles the situation beautifully. He assures him he’s not bad like his father; he’s a Suárez. He talks with him about respecting women.
Antonia shows up at the hotel and manages to get the chambermaid to let her into Rodrigo Balmaceda’s room.
Patti freaks out when she sees Lagarto spying through the window. Ricardo comes home and brandishes a gun, going after the intruder. Aníbal, knowing full well who it is, tells him it’s probably Patti making things up.
Alejandro comes to La Fortaleza and is met with insults at the door by Lucho. But right behind him is David. When David, Vero, Ale, and Lucho are in a room together, Ale says that David has come to ask for Cecilia’s hand! While Ale is trying to get David to talk, Lucho flares up jealously, saying Ale has only come along to get close to Vero.
Rod comes out of the shower and finds Antonia on the sofa. She says she has a proposition to make him. He drops his towel! Of course, there’s a convenient lampshade in the way. We get another wonderful scene between these two, loaded with sexual innuendos.
Antonia says she hopes he gets pneumonia. He glances down at the family jewels and asks her if he appears cold to her. She says he’s certainly proud [and we can guess of what she means]. He says he hasn’t had any complaints. Before she really gets rolling with her financial or sexual offer, he tells her everything is being recorded and can be used in a court of law! He says he’s immune to black widows! After she leaves, he says something intriguing: ¿Por qué tenía que llamarse justamente Antonia? Sounds to me like someone named Antonia meant something to our man Rod.
Lucho watches Vero and Ale together on the reality TV. He tells Constanza he can tell by the way she looks at him that she loves him. When Lucho and Vero are alone, he says he can’t even sleep because he desires her so much. But he feels that she’s agreed to marry him because she owes him so much. He can’t do it for that reason. He tells her she’s free.
La Tuerta staggers through the desert some more, hallucinating the people she abused in the manicomio. This is getting repetitive. It seems she’s going to somehow survive or why else bother.
Aníbal chews Lagarto for peeking at Patti. He’s been hiding our lizard friend in a storage room on his property.
Rodrigo chews out the hotel staff for letting Antonio Guerra into his room. He then interviews Gastón about what happened years ago. How Julio had him arrested for his revealing radio broadcasts. How Chacón took advantage of his absence to attempt rape and to murder Inocencia. Gastón tells him that Julio told him the truth before he died.
Alejandro figures out that Antonia went to try to seduce Rodrigo and asks how she could stoop so low.
Macario cries in his beer [rather his tequila] about losing everything in the fire and being out on the street. He swears he’ll get Chacón for this.
Vero tells Constanza she’s going to marry Lucho.
Rod’s safecracker opens Julio’s safe after Patti and Ricardo bring him to Julio’s house. Rod starts reviewing the files inside.
Vero comes to seduce Lucho in full black lace, a tempting sight. She tells him he’s the man of her life. She’s not going back to the past; it’s Lucho or no one. But when he begins to make love to her, he can tell she’s really not into it, and jumps up.
[OK, sidebar! Why in the heck do absolutely no men in telenovelas have hair on their chests? Gonzalo García Vivanco – Lucho – looks like he has 5 o’clock shadow at 2:00, but his chest is as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Why? They have to be going through bottles of Nair or something. I personally like chest hair.]
OK, back to the action. Poor Lucho says he wants her to desire him, to tremble when he touches her. He can’t go through with it.
Patti and Ricardo talk about maybe needing to tell this sabueso (dual meaning: bloodhound or really vigilant detective) the truth about Vero and Constanza before he finds it out himself.
Antonia has an erotic dream about Rodrigo.
Novelera - great recap. I don't know how you could concentrate on writing this up with Rod strutting his stuff!
I wonder if Rod will go after Lucho now that he knows Lucho was in the neighborhood. Isn't Lucho still on the lam, having escaped from jail?
We didn't see much of Valentina, but, when we did, she seemed well with no abdominal distress.
I was disappointed in Vero, offering herself up to Lucho. Even though she didn't mean to, she hurt him deeply.
What's with Santa Irene? Something has her distracted. Maybe she's pregnant - or maybe not. I couldn't tell. But she wasn't her usual irritating self.
Beth
thanks so much novelera,
and good points Beth,
thinking back over Gabriela's history, hmm, she was raped by Fernando at an early age, (and had David as a result), then maybe 17 years later, Alejandro broke through THAT wall and they made love, and it opened a whole new world for her, and they slept together, what, a few times ???, then there was the attempted rape in the manicomio, and... I can really feel her devotion to Lucho, especially after all they have been through, but is he the right person to bring her back again, across that crevasse,
I'm thinking only Jorge Luis Pila can do that,
(who could ever hate this guy, no matter what he does)
Antonia, how could you do something so low,
well, it's not like she killed someone,
[novelera- in Rosa Diamante there was a guy that had big hair in places you wouldn't ever expect, it was so bizarre it may have been a Miguel Varoni (the director) joke].
Aníbal (Joaquín Garrido) is interesting to watch, it's like he parks his body and then just animates his head and hands, different,
so Irene coming home late, I was ah, at the club, that's it, with some girl friends, maybe the music was so loud I didn't hear the phone, yea that's what happened, good night,
Fabulous recap novelera. Loved this episode with both of our patronas trying to seduce men without success. They both looked great during their attempts though.
The whole naked scene with my man Rod (whose rod was discreetly hidden by hotel room objects), was hilarious and filled with sexy innuendo. It will be fun to see him and Antonia continue to play off one another. He certainly left her hot and bothered.
Irene is for sure up to something. But what?
I thought it was great that Ale told Vero to take Ceci to the doc for birth control, because teenage hormones will likely win over the horny teens (and horny older men like him too). Let's just hope that horse hasn't already left the barn as a result of them keeping the hospital bed warm for Vale.
Thanks, Novelera, for another excellent recap. As for the hair on the men's chests, I don't think it's just telenovelas, almost all modern shows have the men wax their hair off. Apparently this clean look plays better on the screen. But those producers should look back at some Sean Connery movies to see that chest hair can often look good.
Macario may be the one to take out Lagarto (or vice versa). But hasn't Macario ever heard of homeowner's insurance? Guess not.
At the end of the episode, when Rodrigo was coming on to Antonia in her bed, I was yelling, no way, this can't be! And sure enough, it was her dream. She's really intrigued by this "patan". But it will be interesting to find out about the Antonia in Rod's past.
Right after Vero and Ale talked about getting David and Cecilia some birth control knowledge, Vero was about to have sex with Lucho. I bet they weren't doing anything to prevent pregnancy, although of course, they didn't get that far, and it wouldn't work for our story anyway. Remember, Gaby got pregnant from her night with Ale way back. Although Vero, being so sophisticated, is presented as being wiser, more worldly. So maybe I'm wrong. But generally it seems as if the only people who use birth control in novelas are the bad ones (like Antonia). It was also interesting to hear Vero talk not just about taking "precautions", which is the usual euphemism for birth control, she actually said "anticonceptivos" which means the pill (it really means contraceptives, but the pill is implied here).
I'm still predicting La Tuerta will die in the desert like a damned dog.
Someone mentioned that Bill C gave the meaning of Chacorta, I missed it, repita por favor.
We know the bullet will miss Aurelio, I'm very afraid for Ximena. Monica didn't look very suspicious looking up, everyone would have followed her eyes to see QTH she kept looking at.
Variopinta, I think Bill C said "mecha corta" was "short fuse," and that that was the origin of Chacorta's nickname.
Yes, I think Monica clearly was expecting (and had undoubtedly ordered) the hit, probably on Ximena. I'm hoping that it's too early for Ximena to die.
thanks so much NovelaMan!
the woman that called Guillermo is sleazy Sylvia,
(if you are not familiar with her, she is/was Flavia's friend, also does jobs for the gossip magazine, had a private poker game that got raided where Flavia was arrested, but most recently Ariel leaked a bid to her, that she related to Guillermo causing him to overbid on the same thing by 100 million plus which he doesn't have, and she in turn was not happy that Flavia set her up)
and I really didn't get all of this either but she had gone to see Flavia earlier, who wasn't buying her phony friendship thingy, then she called Guillermo and said it wasn't working (I'm not sure what she is supposed to be doing) and he told her to stick to the plan,
anyway,
I thought for sure Deniz had zeroed in on Bianca, but then when she asks Yair to confirm what he saw, well he can only see red,
I was so hoping that when Deniz found Bianca's diary at least the copy of her letter would fall out,
and wow, the look on Bianca's face when Ariel suggested he might be able to see what is in the diary some day, uff, the book almost burst into flames,
and Bruno, he is walking around in his own little hell,
he needs to keep Eliana on the hook for his cover,
he is probably hoping that Yair does leave,
but seeing Yair talking to Ariel, oh no,
and later Ariel confiding in him about Bianca's odd behavior,
lies on top of lies, will he ever be able to keep them all straight.
It certainly was surprising to find that ALL the government officials (except Marco) are corrupt, and that Jimenez Arroyo was a boyhood friend of Aurelio! And that he makes a deal where he gets the credit for capturing Aurelio and Chacorta, but they only go to jail for a short time, and then are set up to be big bosses of the drug traffic in Mexico. The prison warden gets blamed for the slip up, and no one suspects Jimenez, who gets power, money, etc. Marco is frustrated that Aurelio never got extradited, and is already out of jail (what was it, a year or two?). Jimenez says we just catch the bad guys, it's not up to us what punishment they get.
Now that Aurelio's out, he wants revenge for the attempted hit on his family. Turco has determined that the final call came from the computer of Isidro Robles. We know it was Monica, not Isidro, but Aurelio doesn't. He finally asks Ximena to marry him. The plan is to invite the Robles to the wedding. Normally, they'd suspect a trap, but Don Cleto (Ximena's father) is enlisted to convince Isidro Robles it's okay, which he does.
So everyone's at the wedding, in a big church, and although Isidro told Monica not to come, she came anyway (she had admitted to loving Aurelio). Everyone, even El Cabo, gets frisked for weapons at the door. But some young guy or guys dressed as deacons have rifles, and one of them, high in the gallery, is aiming. I sort of thought that this hit was planned by Aurelio, not by Monica. I think she just happened to look up. And that she'll realize that she and her brother are the targets at the last minute. But I could be totally wrong. I usually am.
When Bill writes his full summary, maybe we'll get some more insight.
I JUST STARTED A SEPARATE PAGE FOR COMMENTS ABOUT THIS SHOW.

Questions?
NovelaMan, thank you for the recap!
I found Bruno very unlikable this epy, his attitude towards Yair is such a turn off; at least Yair is doing something, he has a job, he is not mooching off of someone else, but what has Bruno ever accomplished in his life, except have all the pretty ladies? If I hear any of them say one more time that Bruno has to 'terminar sa carera' I think I'm gonna explode. When was the last time we've seen Bruno with a book?
When Deniz was handling Bianca's diary, I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for her to at least find that letter. But, as always, something came up at the last moment, that kept B&B's secret safe.
I hope Camila goes to school, being a servant for the rich is not quite the dream life.
Lol at Ariel for choosing Bruno from all people to confide in when it comes to Bianca.
Deb, I really don't understand why Flavia still talks to Silvia; never mind the auction story, but Silvia has been a crappy friend for a very long time.
As for Bruno, he is still hot, but the fact that he does absolutely nothing all day long (except cover for his pretty a.ss when it comes to Bianca)is making me find him kind of irritating. He better do something great soon (and, no, tricking Eliana into accepting a wedding that will NEVER come is not it). I'm still saying that something major happens at Nina's graduation...
Happy Birthday Jencarlos! "25"

btw- it looks like NO prime time novelas Thursday, because of the Premios Billboard de la Música Latina.
If you get RAI on your cable/satellite, you can watch Un Posto Al Sole (UPAS) an American-style soap that started in 1996. I watch it almost daily.
Some time in May, RAI also usually starts to broadcast shorter series morning & evening for the summer.
Speaking of RAI to study Italian --
There are tons of goodies available on the website:
rai.tv
Sometimes a short -- 3 minutes or less -- video news story is just right, especially if you are already familiar with the events described.
You can also watch older episodes on "Un posto al sole" here. It's pretty fun. Thanks, Anon, for reminding me of it.
That Antonia Rod scene was hot, one of the hotest i've seen in a long time. And a lot of repartee to go along with it. Really well done.
Poor Gabii/Vero trying to force herself to do the deed with Lucho but just not able to do it. Yes she probably did hurt him but he forced the issue.
Nice to see some adult actually suggest birth control for the teens. As someone sho got tricked in msrriage Ale doesn't want that to happen to David.
Part 1
Ariel asks Bruno if he knows something about Bianca's decision to leave him with 100.000$ - no, of course Bruno has no clue, if Bianca says the money was for Nina, then that must be the truth.
Some time goes by and it's Graduation Day for Nina; everybody is with her at school, she is wearing her graduation gown and is very happy; Yais doesn't show up, but Bruno is there with Eliana.
During her speech (she is the best student) she thanks her mother from the sky, her dad and Deniz, but there si no mention of Bianca (not that Bianca would really care, though, she has a sour, bored face that she just can't hide).
After the celebration is over, Bruno and Bianca get a private moment together - she mentions how much she misses him, how hard it is to be separated; he is also suffering a lot, so he decided to go to NY with Eliana, if time didn't hep them forget, maybe space will (yeah, because not seeing each other for 3 whole days really counts as "time"). Anyway Bianca says this is something that they need to do in order to keep the others from being hurt. Just as they hug in a sort of farewell manner, Deniz comes in, searching something Nina left behind. She catches them in the embrace and they make up an excuse - Bianca felt hurt that Nina didn't mention her in the speech, she knows she is not supposed to feel like this, but she can't help it and could Deniz keep this a secret, because there is no point in telling Nina and Ariel and upseting them. The excuse is not that bad but both Bruno and Bianca are such terrible liars, that Deniz obviously doesn't believe a word they say. She just answers their request to keep the secret with a: "Sure, you got it!" that is anything but casual.
Flavia is not at the graduation, she is at Ivan's place. He is upset they are not together, Flavia says she can't leave the mansion because Bianca's marriage is still not strong enough (which is very true, actually). Ivan wants them to go to bed, Flavia says no at first, but then changes her mind. After sex, though, she says that things haven't changed between them, she will go back to the house and he should just wait for her...that is something Ivan doesn't like to much!
Yair is with the Navy doctor, who tells him they found something in his lungs, they are not fully functioning, so they have to reject his application to join the Navy. Yair is very upset but doesn't pay attention to the medical warning - seeing him with his feet in the water while telling the servants the bad news makes me think that if he doesn't treat this thing seriously, we'll be attending his funeral before the end of the TN.
The family visits Isabel at the cemetery, but Bianca chooses to stay in the car. While talking with Deniz about this, Ariel admits it bothers him, but Deniz tells him that maybe Bianca feels he is not giving her the place she deserves in the house and maybe she still sees Isabel as a threat.
Night comes and everybody is waiting for Nina downstairs. When she comes down we see that she's had a sort of a makeover, Bianca haircut and sexy dress included. Nina cut her hair shoulder lenght, it's a little curly, but it still screams Bianca to me. She is very pretty and doesn't look like a girl anymore, but like a woman (so they say). They are all impressed with her, especially Bruno, who decided to accompany her to the prom (since he heard she doesn't have a date). He is wearing a tux suit, he is quite handsome, but why, oh why waste so much hotness on Nina?
They are all giddy, laughing and whatnot, and to make matters even more nauseatingly sweet, a band of mariachi comes in and Bruno and Nina start dancing in the middle of the living room with everyone around them clapping (everybody but Bianca, who spends the entire time drinking brandy and shooting killer looks at Nina and Bruno).
Part 2
Bianca seems to enjoy the mariachi so much, she is dancing on the couch. "Hey, cielo, how about if we go to the prom with Bruno and Nina?" But Ariel doesn't think they should bother "the kids", they better stay home with the mariachi, and with Deniz and Flavia as company, what more could they ask for (this scene is so funny, I had to watch it several times to enjoy Bianca's reaction to Ariel' idea - she is barely 26 but this is her life now, spending the nights with the early 50's group, while Hottie Bruno is out, entertaining Nina).
Before leaving Bruno and Nina meet Yair at the entrance; Nina advices Yair to go the doctor, check his lungs, but he is so busy feeling sorry for himself, I don't think he cares about his health to much.
In the kitchen Camila, who'd decided to go to Orlando to study (when she thought Yair would go to the Navy), has changed her mind now, but Don Salo won't hear any of this; she already agreed, so there is no turning back.
Bruno and Nina arrive at the party, he is the catch of the night; Nina is extremely happy and Bruno seems pretty impressed with her, too. He asks "the most beautiful woman" at the party to dance with him ...
- while his "most beautiful women in the world" is home, battling to finish all the brandy in the house
In her tipsy state, Bianca is very talkative, she asks Deniz when she plans to leave and Flavia why she couldn't postpone her court date (that she invented) to come to the graduation. Tipsy Bianca is really fun and has quite a big mouth!
When they are left alone Ariel tells her to stop drinking, have a coffee instead, but Bianca asks him to stop treating her like he is her father(ouch!). He sees Yair outside, so he goes to talk to him.
With Yair, Ariel asks what is wrong with him; he is sorry about the Navy, but the good part is that now he knows there is something wrong with his health. Yairs doesn't care about his lungs, but about his soul - sometimes life hits you hard, betrayal can come from everywhere, when you least expect it. Ariel asks Yair to explain himself, but Yair backs down.
Now in Flavia's room, Bianca is still drinking. Flavia pours salt on the wound by saying how pretty Nina looked and how smitten Bruno seemed to be with her. Bianca gets mad and finally leaves, after they fight some more on the subject.
At the prom, Bruno's phone rings and Nina almost answers, but Bruno grabs the phone. It is Bianca, she tells him she whises she was in Nina's place - he wishes the same thing; she loves him, he loves her back...she says she wants them to have a night together, just one night, he agrees (how could he not?). But it can't be the taller (really, Bruno, how can you even suggest this??), it has to be a different place, where they won't get caught and can really enjoy each other - they will meet and talk about it when he gets home (with Bianca drunk and Bruno horny, I believe the bushes on the Piamonte estate could be a good place to give it a try...just saying).
After his talk with Bianca Bruno really wants to get home, no more prom night for him. Nina is upset that he would want to leave so fast, but he buys her a rose and that is enough to calm her down.
Now in her room, Bianca is stil drinking. Ariel takes the glass out of her hand, takes her to bed. She asks him to join her, but Ariel is upset (and a little disgusted, if you ask me), he says he will wait for Nina, while she needs to go to sleep.
In his office he meets Deniz, she can't sleep either before Nina gets home; he apologizes for Bianca and her drinking, but Deniz is not upset; she does want to talk to him about something, though, about the closeness between Bruno and ...Nina? - Ariel interrupts her - No, not Nina, the closeness between Bruno and Bianca.
BANG! The end!
Things continue to get interesting, as Rodrigo seems to have as much going against the "good guys" as he does against the "lobos". Antonia, a bit turned on by him, goes to visit in his office to make peace, and see's Lucho's picture. She identifies it as Luis Carvajal, the fiance of Veronica. This surprises Rod, who knows it's Lucho. He asks Gaston if he met Lucho in prison, and Gaston lies, no. He then goes to Vero's house, and has it surrounded by deputies. He tells her he want to see her fiance, who is really Lucho Vampa, a crook. Vero pretends to be surprised, lies and says Luis isn't there, he left forever, unexpectedly. Rod isn't buying this, wants to search, and Vero says you'll have to get a warrant. So he's going to Ricardo, the judge, who's going to have to grant it, what else can he do?
Meanwhile, Ric has opened up about his past to Ines the sex therapist. He relates the story of his first time at the brothel, and Ines says he has nothing physically wrong, and this can be cured. Ric and Pati are closer than ever (they're almost like the heroes these days). Pati tells Vero she knows she's Gaby, and please drop the revenge thing, c'mon.
But Vero's still obstinate, as is Alejandro, who calls Irene his pretty young wife whom he doesn't love, as he loves Vero. Irene hears this. I guess it's nice to be called pretty and young, but the unloved part hurts. She finds some poison in Antonia's things, Antonia of course doesn't say who she's poisoning, but gives her some tranquilizers, telling her "take the whole bottle, loser!".
Gertrudis was magically found by some state troopers riding randomly across the desert, and I think she's still alive.
And one of the kids (little Ricky?) who's at Anibal's house, happens to spy Lagarto sleeping on a bench!
Thanks Hombre. Yes the good guys are in just as much hot water with Rod as the Lobos are. I could not believe that Lucho was being such an idiot refusing to flee-- not because he didn't want to leave his friends, but because he doesn't want to give Ale the chance to sniff around Vero. Seriously dude? You'll be in prison anyway. Then at the end he demands that she flees with him. As if that wouldn't separate her from her son, make her an accessory to a crime, and ruin all her plans. Talk about selfish.
And all I can do is shake my head about Ale. I could not believe his gall bragging about going after Vero when he's married and has done nothing to change that. What a jerk!
ah AdrianaNoel, another humorous recap for a not-so story. I truly appreciate the effort you put in, as well as NovelaMan's. Thanks for pointing out Nina's hairstyle being similar to Bianca's. That little girl will always look little no matter how hard she tries to change her image. sooo irksome! and Deniz, acting like she's her mother... ugh!
I am still very frustrated with this show right now, I honestly barely watch it; mostly >ff>.
still enjoy reading everyone's comments.
So after the doc told Antonia that Val was being poisoned, no one else in that house, including Val was curious about what had been wrong with her? Surely if her poisoning had been a topic of discussion at any point, finding that flask of poison would have rang warning bells for Irene. There is a shocking lack of curiosity in that family and that town.
Hombre, thanks for the mini-cap. There were a few interesting developments last night and you got them all.
Finally La Tuerta is in custody. They'll probably throw her back (unless Sheriff whats-his-name gets her and puts her in a pink jumpsuit!). Who knows where this subplot is going....
I hope Rod doesn't arrest Gaston for lying about knowing Lucho in prison and not mentioning "Luis" when he was shown Lucho's photo.
I loved Rod storming out of the police station, super frustrated and saying, "I can't work like this!"
So Little Ricky spied Lagarto sleeping it off in the shed. I'm guessing it's about 2 minutes until Ricardo or Paty find out and notify Rod.
I thought Lucho's ultimatum ("I'll leave if you go with me!") was more of his grasping, manipulative game playing. Just annoying!
Beth
thanks so much AdrianaNoel,
I was not able to watch this show, but reading your recap, I feel like I have, thanks again!
BANG! You said it AdrianaNoel, we're on a cliffhanger now and thanks for your excellent recap.
NOVELAMAN, thanks for yours too, good to hear your voice. You covered everything, even Willie's kissing the top of Penelope's head!
Thinking I'm going to be alone here, but I thought Nina's makeover was a huge success, and that Nina/Bruno [at least in prom dress!] actually make a more attractive couple than B/B or Bruno/Eliana.
To me, Eliana and Bianca overpower Bruno and make him look ... small.
shallowgal, not liking PP, really? I find it strangely engrossing with the intense look drama and family/mansion claustrophobia and secrets, yet at the same kind of funny.
shallowgal, please keep commenting!
What will happen tonight, with the added element of Bianca being drunk?
Clara
Thanks for last night's interesting recap, Hombre.
What I was thinking about Irene is this: She doesn't deserve a pity party. She went after a man who was in love with another woman. She went to the prison with her wedding dress and flaunted her shotgun wedding in front of her rival. She repeatedly came to his hotel and practically raped him in order to get pregnant. And now she's whining that he doesn't love her. Wake up, sister, he never did!! I'm sure we won't get so lucky as to have her really die from the overdose. She was also so self-centered as to not connect the dots about Val's illness and Guerra's bottle of poison and warn Valentina before deciding to check out.
I agree Beth and Vivi about Lucho's boneheaded plan to have Vero leave with him. Of course, that's a telenovela staple that the "other man" than the galán always is green with jealousy and can't see the handwriting on the wall.
Irene=Lucho. They both don't want to let go of someone even when it's obvious it's over. I so agree with you Novelera that Irene made a hardtack hard bed for herself and she has to lie in it or get a new bed and leave Ale. Ale basically told her they can divorce so she can be happy and she won't accept it. Hopefully if she overdoses they won't blame Alejandro. Balmaceda would do that since there are too many Montemar deaths.
Oh, Novelera, the wedding dress wasn't Irene's it was Patti's. Since Irene only had a civil wedding, she only wore the little white sleeveless dress. She grabbed Patti's dress to fool Gaby into thinking Ale and she had a church wedding, which means he was willing to
promise before god and everybody he loved Irene. So not only did she lie about the wedding type to Gaby, Irene was so hateful of her sister and selfish, she discarded her sister's wedding dress, which was made from Prudencia's gown.
I've been thinking the fact that Gaby had to wear that dress for four years in the catacumba was the writers' way to foreshadow the Patti and Ale affair. Patti would be Ale's substitute for Gaby, not Irene.
Beth, Balmaceda in for a rude awakening. Ale told him Welcome to hell. He's gonna get himself involved in situations he never thought he would be. SPDO is a place where people lose their moral compass. See:Ale and Fer.
Vivi, yes Ale is way too arrogant when it comes to Vero. The whole' Primero sabado que domingo' thing had me laughing becuase it is true, and shows that Ale knows Vero is Gaby, but it also upset me. I've always disliked that the writers made Ale so unlikeable. He's a great father and an honest and good manager and CEO but an awful husband and friend. The errores he's committed are too much forhim to be a galan. upset and shocked. He's still married and needs to respect the marriage. I hope the avance for tonight is not real. Is it standard TN practice to have your protagonista to have sex with a married man?!!!! I hope Vero tells him she won't be his, or any dude's amante.
Yes, our protagonists are seriously flawed. I agree with your points about Alejandro, JoJo. And what about Veronica? She's lied to the police. She's lied to her own son! She imprisoned a woman and shackled her to the wall, torturing her mentally. She's rigged something with stock shares to snare her enemies. She falsified the results of her own autopsy. And she's a hero? It's all fascinating, though, and I keep watching to see how far she'll go.
Hombre, Vero did all those things to literally save her life-except for torturing Tuerta. Ale is a jerk on general principle who thinks way too much of himself. But given the family he co.comes from, he's a saint.
Ver is now focused on justice and not revenge, got Ric and Coni back together, got Lucecita's son Emiliano back to her and gave her cash to build a new life; opened a small business bank and is building a new hospital. Plus, she's raising Cecilia. So, she's a hero to me. Ale needs much more rehalibiltation than Vero.
Hombre de Misterio - Yes, I will say Vero is a hero, for all the bad they did to her and the others. It would've continued if she didn't intervene.
Lucho’s estupidez carries over from last night’s episode until tonight’s. After saying last night he’ll only leave if she comes with him, tonight he says, if she won’t come along, it’s over between them. She tells him she can’t leave David or her revenge.
Rodrigo Balmaceda tells Aníbal the documents he found in Julio’s safe show that the senator and the mayor were partners in business, and that all the public works in SPDO appeared to have been done by companies owned by them. He says this sounds like peculado to him. [This is a new word for me; it means embezzlement. When I looked it up, I expected the definition to be price fixing.] Rod tells Aníbal that, should this be true, he’d lose his senatorial immunity and be charged and tried like any other citizen.
Patti is not cooperating with Ricardo’s fake illness to stall signing the search warrant. He doesn’t want Lucho caught because he helped save his mother’s life. When he finally goes out to meet Rod, Ricardo does a great imitation of a sick man with laryngitis and finally signs the order.
Vero tries to leave La Fortaleza with two persons in burkas, but isn’t allowed to leave. It’s actually a clever fake-out because Lucho isn’t under a burka. When Vero drops something and distracts them, Lucho takes off dressed as a gardener.
Aníbal comes to see Antonia and says: ¡Estoy hasta la coronilla de Balmaceda! I love these expressions. He’s fed up to the teeth with our investigator. He wants Antonia to have him bumped off. She says he’s too important, but Aníbal smells that she’s interested in the guy.
Alejandro overhears Gastón tell a barman that Vero and Lucho’s wedding is cancelled. He also tells him about the APB for Lucho. After Gastón leaves, Ale can’t help but grin.
Ricardito is afraid to sleep in his own room and tells his parents about a smelly, ugly guy in the storeroom.
Poncia calls out to Irene for dinner. We see some spilled pills on the floor, but Poncia does not.
Alejandro sneaks into Vero’s room again. At least he mentions that the guards don’t challenge him; I was wondering if the only male they could see was David! Ale moves right in on her, saying he knows she doesn’t want him to leave.
Ricardo and Lagarto have a shootout in the storeroom. I’m very nervous; but the one who gets shot is Chacón. Ricardo calls Rod, who says he’s on his way. Rod then mutters that Ricardo got over his laryngitis pretty quickly. When Ricardo returns to his bedroom, Patti smothers him with kisses and says she loves him.
Lucho continues to resemble the south end of a northbound horse. He’s holed up at the radio station, drunk as a skunk. He does come up with a saying I like, though: Que tienda tiene, que la atienda. Gotta mind the store – or in this case, Vero. Gastón calmly reminds him she loves Alejandro and has always loved him, but Lucho just lists the reasons he doesn’t deserve her.
Lagarto is getting reluctant first aid from Estrella for his bullet wound. In the bar of the Casa de las Muñecas Macario whines some more to Lucas about his lost hacienda. Lucas tries to get Estrella to “cheer him up”, but she evades him
More Lucho. He says a real man won’t let someone steal his woman. Wouldn’t you know it, Francisca has come with Gastón’s dinner as a peace offering, but he won’t let her in because Lucho is inside. She assumes it’s a hooker inside!
Poor Lucía has come to bid Irene good night with Valentina along. Irene isn’t waking up, and Valentina notices this, plus the pills, and sends Lucía off to bed.
Alejandro continues to plead with Vero to let him make love to her. He tells her loves her beyond all reason. He finally asks her pardon. She asks why he’s asking her for forgiveness. He says it’s because the one he loves isn’t here to ask. Then he says he loves her more than he loved Gabriela Suarez because he knows he never deserved her. He cries and asks for her pardon. She is crying also and tells him she forgives him. They kiss. I found this to be a very touching scene.
Thanks so much for the great recap Novelera! Estupidez is a perfect description for Lucho's actions last night.
I was annoyed by Ale hot-footing it right over to Vero's bedroom too, but I was touched by that conversation with him begging her forgiveness, and Gaby/Vero forgiving him. That's a huge step for her, and a good development. But I don't want them to have sex, and I hope that doesn't happen until he is actually a free man and they have cleared up all the issues between them.
I still can't figure out if Ale's 100% sure she's Gaby or not. Thoughts? I do find it odd that even suspecting she's Gaby, he doesn't ask any questions like: what really happened in the mine; who framed you; what happened in the manicomio; what did they do to you; how did you escape; how did you begin this new life with all this money? You know, all the questions Ricardo asked once he learned the real identities of Vero and his mom. I am hoping Ale starts asking these questions soon, but so far it's all about me, me, me with him.
And Ale has to be the most intellectually incurious person ever. I've always thought the writers used his stupidity to move the story along which was always annoying. I think the writers are purposefully destroying Jorge Luis Pila's career by making him this unlikeable. He's such a good actor and it's so sad they are making him in his debut role as a galan, this awful.
I don't know if he knows it's Gaby. The 'Primero sabado que domingo' said yes, be knows. The visiting Gaby at her grave says he doesn't. Ale remembering Gaby saying 'Eres un engreído y un sangrón' just like Vero says that he knows. But the fact he doesn't come out and say he knows its her boggles the mind. Since it's a theme that knowing and saying Vero is Gaby is dangerous for your health, having Ale acknowledge it might be too dangerous.
ITA JoJo. Let me clarify. I was touched for Gaby's sake, not for Ale. I really don't care if he continues to suffer. But I was happy that Gaby was able to let go of her hate and confusion about him and forgive him. She will be better off for it. Ale has a crap storm waiting for him when he gets home and finds out about Irene, and I don't feel the lest bit sorry for him knowing what's coming.
Excellent recap, Novelera. Here's my take on the Vero/Ale thing. It was perfectly summed up in the conversation between drunk Lucho, and Gaston. Lucho says, that bum doesn't deserve her. He abandoned her when she was in trouble. He even married her rival just when it hurt her (Gaby, since Lucho knows it's Gaby) the most. That bum Alejandro is still married, has a sick child, and knows that Veronica is promised to me. And yet he has the nerve to keep after her!
Gaston replies. You're totally right. He doesn't deserve her. Everything you said is true. BUT she loves him. So that's all there is to it.
And that's the whole thing. As much as Vero tries and tries not to love Ale, not to forgive him, to give Lucho a chance...she CAN'T, because this is a deep, eternal love, that will continue beyond all obstacles, including death, marriage to a rival, cheating, etc. Yes, we know this shouldn't happen (in real life). But sometimes in a novela, love conquers all.
Thanks, Novelera, for the quick recap. CC wasn't working last night so I really appreciate the info on Rod's conversation with Anibal. Interesting that Rod gave Anibal warning on the embezzlement charges (I didn't know that word either). Maybe he's hoping the lobos will do something to further incriminate themselves.
Since Rod isn't buying the story of the Arab ladies in burkas, he must think Lucho is still in Vero's house. So, does he still have people watching La Fortaleza and did they see Ale "sneak" into Vero's bedroom?
I loved Gaston telling Lucho he's a moron for not leaving SPdO and later that he's always in the way. Wouldn't you know that Francisca's peace offering would be derailed by her jealousy and will further delay their making up.
Oddly, I was more annoyed than moved by the Ale-Vero/Gaby scene. He's got this me-me-me thing going and can't stay away from her, and she's got this unresolved guilt thing that Coni, Francisca and Gaston keep pointing out. She looked like a trapped animal, and his tears seemed more self serving than truly remorseful.
Valentina looked concerned when she took Irene's pulse, but not enough to call 911. I wasn't sure if she thought Irene had OD'd or really was sleeping deeply.
Beth
Ale's me-me-me kick wrt Vero is annoying. She did look trapped, but she should have said no. I think she should
have said who she was and told him she won't be his consolation prize like Patti, he would've left and he wouldn't have said who Gaby was. He's so going to stay with Irene now because he's going to learn that Lucia saw her mother half dead. If he got the gaul to realize Irene is manipulating him and leaves, I'd be surprised as all get out.
I think this novela is a rosa with thorns, in that all the protags end up doing some morally questionable things that make you wonder why they are a protag, Ale being the worst case, while the villanas are so all-knowingly evil and conniving, the only difference between the protags and the antags is that the protags are naive while the antags are not.
It's sad that I had more sympathy for Fernando than I do for Alejandro because Fer ultimately showed his regret for his repulsive crime.against Gaby by standing up to Guerra and saving Gaby's life in the mine. Alejandro was only not selfish with Gaby when he was giving her his car keys to escaoe with David. It's all downhill with him since then. Oh, and Lucho needs to leave town. Everyone now knows he's an ex criminal and he's of no use to Vero now.
JoJo-- It's not too late for Gabi to say no. They haven't had sex yet. To me, her forgiving Ale and not having pent up anger towards him anymore, doesn't mean that she has to jump right back into his arms (and his bed). The two things are different, and I hope the writers go with that.
Ale reminds me of those old fashioned galans I've seen in some older tns on during the day, who do really jerky things over and over, and really don't deserve the heroine. It seems like it's only recently that galans have been expected to be charming, brave, intelligent/smart, and faithful (and of course, handsome) all at the same time. The faithful part still gets forgotten from time to time after they've had a little fight with the heorine. From what I can tell, in many past tns, the galan could only be expected to be handsome and perhaps charming, and of course jealous (although I will never see this as a positive trait).
Boy, I shouldn't get started on Irene because she's the character I like the least. If she did make a suicide gesture, she was careful to not take the whole bottle of pills. And that makes her even more self centered and manipulative than ever. You're so right, JoJo, that Ale will not divorce Irene because of Lucia.
Vivi, Gaby/Vero does have time to say no, but I think Hombre's right. The source of her conflict is her love for Ale, and I'm guessing she's going to give in.
Beth
Lots of comments today. I’m a bit of a contrarian about Alejandro Beltrán. He’s not exactly a noble galán, but I give him some slack. Considering the mother he was saddled with, he’s an honest man. He admired and respected El Tigre Suárez as his father and step-father’s best miner. After his step-father’s death, he reluctantly returned to SPDO and was pressured into taking over the family mine.
He fell in love with a humble woman and accepted her difficult son. They had planned to leave town and move to the capital. Then his horrible mother’s plans ruined everything. She found out that Tigre had found gold in El Chamuco and had some sort of family claim on it. She had Tigre grabbed up and tortured and then decided to eliminate Gabriela for two reasons: She wanted him to marry Irene, someone she could manipulate, and she wanted to eliminate Gabriela’s ability to claim the mine.
What person could have guessed that Alberto Espino and Ramón Izquierda would flat out lie about seeing Gabriela place dynamite in the mine? What person could have guessed that Gabriela would be injected with drugs that made her appear insane and attack him with a knife?
But, flawed man or not, Gastón has grasped the truth, Gabriela and Alejandro have one of those intense and all-encompassing loves that telenovela writers regale us with again and again.
I think they will make love. But one or both of them will be wracked with guilt about Irene’s suicide attempt. I doubt she’ll really croak. That would be too easy!
When Deniz tells Ariel that she feels that Bruno and Bianca are getting to close and mentions catching them in a compromising position after Nina's speech (but admits that she has no proof against them), Ariel says he knew Bianca would feel hurt because of the speech and gets very angry, asks Deniz to stop inventing stuff about his sainted wife, to stop spewing her venom all over the place.
Deniz apologizes (!!) and goes to her room crying. The next day she finds an apartment.
All I can say about Ariel at this point can easily be summed up with a very famous spanish saying: "Mas ciego el que no quere ver!" (aprox translation: he, who does not want to see, is the blindest)
While Nina is on cloud nine because of Bruno, he is trying to reach Bianca by phone, but she is already asleep (she wakes up briefly when Bruno sends a message that Ariel almost reads, but she can't leave her room, since Ariel is wide awake).
So Bruno's nightly visit comes from Nina, who goes to his room to thank him for the best night of her life; she tries her best seduction on him, but Bruno seems more confused than turned on (for now).
The next day Yair lets everybody know that even if they didn't accept him in the Navy, he still wants to leave and be a sailor or whatever - he just wants to be at sea (I bet his lungs would disagree).
The servants are opposed to the idea (especially Camila, who is in serious need of a smack down for wanting to remain a servant all her life just to be near Yair, who doesn't even know she exists). Ariel offers to pay for his studies, help him have a better future, but Yair is just to stubborn. Ariel realizes something is wrong, but he doesn't get any straight answers from Yair. Anyway, he tells him he talked to some doctors, so he can go have a check up for his lungs.
The family (minus Deniz)decides to spend the day at the pool, celebrating Nina's graduation. Bruno and Bianca exchange glances all the time, so much that Flavia tells her to stop.
The celebration is cut short by some bad news that Ariel receives. He gets mad with Nico for losing some lands they needed to expand their hotel; he suspects that maybe Nico is on his father's side (Guillermo bought those lands), asks him about where his loyalties are. So, to punish a perfectly innocent Nico, Ariel puts Bruno in charge of the project - finding a solution to get the lands back...HAHAHA...Bruno and business, that is like seeing Bianca cooking or Flavia mopping the floors.
Nina and Yair talk about his departure, she gets upset that he still wants to go; finally, he tells her he saw the kiss with Bruno on the balcony, but Nina denies it and storms out (to bad that Yair is so stupid he doesn't believe her).
Flavia asks Bianca point blank if she likes Bruno - of course she denies it. Then she asks how come her mother can't stay away from Ivan. Flavia explains how some men have this power over women, they make them do things they are not supposed to do, they make them lose their will. The point of this talk is to have Bianca realize she is in the same boat, but somehow I don't buy Flavia as the helpless woman in love, all she's been doing so far is play with Ivan in a way that Bianca is not willing or capable to play with Bruno.
Clara, I did like Nina's new look, she is quite beautiful and she and Bruno make a very handsome pair.
But with Nina I can't look past her childish behavior, no matter how much they all say she's become a woman. Yes, she might be a woman physically, but she still has her temper tantrums whenever something doesn't go her way. Just wait until she finds out that Deniz is about to leave the house...all her so called maturity will go down the drain.
Apparently, with Bianca drunk, nothing much happened, which is for the best because there were to many people awake in the house. I did love Bruno's reaction the next day, when he said he couldn't sleep all night, thinking she would come to his room.
Deb, if you can't watch a show when they air it, you can find it on the Telemundo site the next morning or on youtube.
Shallowgal, don't give up; if you still read the recaps and you find them more entertaining than the show (thanks!) than maybe I could add some white lies in there, to make you watch again :) - like B&B make love on the piano, while Ariel and Deniz are in the kitchen, going over the grocery list; or Nina runs away with Yair, they steal all of Bianca's designer dresses to have money to support themselves; or Flavia gets into Ariel's bed one night when Bianca is with Bruno, she ends up pregnant and nobody is sure if Ariel or Ivan is the father. So how about it? Would you watch this show?
NovelaMan, I never see your comments, except from the recaps. We want to hear your thoughts!
I'm here, AdrianaNoel, lol. always liking what I'm reading. Gracias!
Last night, in the hallway, Bruno was so cute when he blew a kiss at the departing Bianca. that scene with the 2 of them was the highlight.
Nina still grates on my last nerve. Geez, I thought they were bringing back Sebas... what happened to that?
I hope after Flavia's speech in the last scene, Bianca leaves Ariel instead of following in her footsteps... probably won't happen... ugh... gutless... Bruno too!
Thanks for the shout-out Clara.
I have to agree, that Nina's makeover was great... but her behavior is still a total turn-off. She still totally grates on my nerves. My skin was literally crawling when she was in Bruno's room trying to seduce him, and I was sure she was going to plant one on him. Throw in the cousin thing (distant, schmistant), and, well, just EWWWW.
Bianca's not winning any personality contests with me either... I still am waiting to see something in her character that is likeable. When she's with Bruno we get a chance to see some vulnerability every now and then, but a lot of the time she just seems to be playing with him... making him want her and then leaving him hanging purposefully... and the rest of the time she is flat out cold with everyone else.
Nevertheless, the chemistry is still there!
I hate how things are going with Nicolas... I'm sensing Dad's poison seeping in slowly (especially with Ariel's ridiculous tirade), and I hate to see a truly good-hearted character go down like that.
Yair, good god. Stop moping and go somewhere already. But go to the doctor first. And PLEASE. Stop. Crying.
Camila, go experience life, keep your spunk, grow up a bit, come back, and wow Yair (who has returned from his adventures with expanded horizons and a new lease on life, free of this ridiculous obsession with Nina) with how much you have changed.
Salo and Celeste, I'm moving into Camila's room and you can be my parents. I <3 you!!
Ariel, get your head out of your @$$, divorce Bianca, marry Deniz, and take Santi far away... take him to soccer practice and show him how to have a crush on a girl his own age. That poor kid.
Wow, this was a bit of a downer... sorry! Just had to vent. Still totally addicted though, and no episode tomorrow!! Yikes!
Another Amy
Just some random notes, the show was soooo boring.
Nina and Yair banter about him leaving for the 10th time; he accuses her of kissing Bruno, she denies it etc. Camila advices Yair to tell Nina how he feels but that would mean Yair actually doing something instead of pouting all the time...and we can't have that!
Bianca and Flavia have the 55th talk about Bianca's feelings for Bruno, and just like all the other times, Bianca denies everything, while preparing a romantic escape for the next day.
Bruno manages to convince Guillermo to sell them the lands when Ariel threatens Guilly's partners to go into the same line of business, becoming an worthy competitor.
Choosing Bruno to settle things upsets Nico, who is actually considering being a mole for his father inside Ariel's company (for God's sake, couldn't you just quit?). When Ariel reassures him that he is very valued in the company, Nico changes his mind, but I'm not sure this will last.
Deniz tells the kids she is moving out. Santi is upset, but reasonable; Nina is Nina, she feels abandoned, betrayed etc. She doesn't faint, though, so I guess this is progress.
Teresita 'mi sirenita' gets two marriage proposals from her fisherman, Gabriel, but she proves to be the most sensible person in the house by saying no to both; they become 'novios' instead.
Bruno and Bianca decide to live their passion or love or whatever this is in a hotel room.
So the morning of the big 'rendez-vous' Bianca comes downstairs dressed like a 'vagabunda'(Flavia's words), because she is supposedly going to the zoo with a friend. And she says that in front of Santi, who of course, wants to go, too, but gets rejected.
This scene is stupidly funny - Bianca, wearing a baseball cap, acting all casual about her date with a girlfriend, while Deniz and Flavia don't buy a word - Bianca is obviously not cut out for this sneaking around stuff, she should have behaved the way she normally does if she wanted nobody to notice her. Thankfully, Ariel is to stupid to notice anything and at this point I think he deserves what ever is coming his way just for being so gulible and for offending Deniz so badly when she tried to open his eyes.
Anyway, Bruno is getting ready for the hot date, too, by wearing some ugly t_shirt (again, the worst secret lovers in the entire Universe); he calls Bianca, who - wait for it - forgot her phone home! How can you be such a clumsy idiot to do that the day you plan to cheat on your husband??? Seriously, the fact that these two haven't yet been caught is mind boggling. Flavia answers Bruno's call and she gets the strange feeling that something is going on (you think?)
B&B do meet, after Bianca calls Bruno from the phone in the hotel lobby (she already knew the location, she just needed the room number). They meet in the room, they are both very excited and can't wait to get down to business(and I have to admit I totally buy their nervousness and I'm rooting for them to have this moment together - Bianca is particulary lovely without make-up, and in this state of anticipation).
I think Ninas makeover went okay (I also liked how Bruno towered over her. They do make a cute couple). Her hair is short but it doesnt look like Biancas hairtyle. the bottom of Biancas hair is like hooks. Nina doesnt have hooks.
Dont know why every thinks incest. In Doña Bárbara Santos and Marisela were distant cousins, although i do agree that Nina has a long way to go before she becomes a mature person. Not gonna feel too sorry for Ariel when he discovers the truth.
AdrianaNoel I hope ur not too stressed out. Thursdays and Fridays are my days to recap but ill guess ill get one day since the Premios...
On a side note i remember on Biancas birthday she got a Highlander. Whats great about that? If i were her i wouldve asked for a GT500. The way those things roar! 2013 models hit 200mph. Look it up
AdrianaNoel - thanks for the recap. always helpful in getting the conversation going.
AnotherAmy - about Yair.... you took the words right out of my mouth. I was cringing too with the Nina/Bruno scene; the kissing cousins factor is definitely ..eeewww. and YES!! the chemistry b/w B&B ... it's what keeps me watching still.
I really do like Bianca with little make-up... makes her look her age... young, and oh so suitable for Bruno. It's interesting that they've downplayed their image for the supposedly 'big showdown.' dear God... please let it be HOT! we've waited oh so long for this moment. I can only imagine how Bianca feels. hope nothing ruins it.
So Vero and Ale DO have sex. One time. And now, they have to break up. Para siempre. Why? Well, Irene has recovered from her pill overdose, but now threatens to take Lucia far, far away. So just when Gaby/Vero and Ale have declared their love, it's over (until the last week or so of the novela, maybe).
Meanwhile, Gaston and Francisca ARE in love. Sort of. She finds out that the "woman" he had in the studio was actually Lucho. So all is forgiven, they kiss, and....she again gets cold feet, can't betray Tigre! (or did they end up agreeing they weren't, I can never keep it straight with these two).
And Antonia is now a hero! Rod the Bod gets a call from Lagarto, I'm willing to turn myself in, but only on my terms. This means Rod has to come alone to an abandoned rodeo stadium or something like that. Rod stands in the middle, waving his gun, come out, Lagarto. Of course Lagarto shoots him. Several times. He's just about to finish him off when BOOM! Antonio, from high in the gallery, shoots Lagarto. Several times. Lagarto finally staggers away, don't think he saw who was shooting. But Antonia is IN LOVE (or lust) with Rod, so she helps in into the corner of the stable, ready to nurse him back to health. Hah!
Some high up guy from the capital comes to visit Anibal. Sorry, Senator, but based on what we've been hearing, you're no longer in the running for President. And you might even lose your Senate seat. On the other hand, your son Ricardo has impressed us VERY much, and could have a GREAT career. Anibal is quite p'oed.
But I sure enjoyed this episode!
Thanks so much for the recap, Hombre! My dern DVR hiccuped on me while I was out for the evening. It recorded the first 15 minutes, then quit. I got home in time to see the last 15, but missed the middle.
I assumed Lagarto shot him, since that was what Aníbal was hinting at the night before, but I didn't know who shot Lagarto. Wow, I may watch that episode on my computer tonight since there's not going to be any novelas.
I also missed Francisca and Gastón making up and would like to see that.
Irene sure is a bitch. She has never been really motherly toward Lucía. Antonia had to tell her to wake up and smell the coffee when Lucía first became ill or Ale would have been completely disgusted with her. Now she wants to take her away from her adoring father to spite him. Of course, this is a telenovela, but in real life he'd get custody in a New York minute because of her suicide attempt.
AdrianaNoel, LOL with your white lies to keep shallowgal hooked.
To clarify, my favorable comment about Nina's makeover and her and Bruno as a couple limited to appearance only. Not behavior, personality, etc.
Another Amy, ditto everything in your rant, especially re Nico, Cami, Santi.
LOL moment when Bianca bounced out in the bball cap.
Maybe not important, but adding that Tere also saw Bruno's call to Bianca when Biance left her phone at home.
NovelaMan, Bianca's Highlander, I think Flavia mocked her for Ariel's giving her an "economy" car.
Seeing suited Bruno talking to Willie I thought, maybe Bruno could be a decent negotiator/businessman after all? Beyond Casanova.
Okay, hard to see what could derail them now....we just gotta wait out the Premios.
Thanks all for your comments!
Clara
Irene is naturally going to use the only thing she has to hankg on to or better yet stick it to Ale - the daughter she doesn't love but all of a sudden is worried about her health. Big surprise there
Ale and Gaby do the deed just as irene tries to off herself. Gaby then goes into guilt overdrive - so predictable, and tells Ale adios.
Hot Rod stupidly goes off to meet up with Largato telling no one and not wearing a vest. Idiot. The big question is how did Antonia know where to go with trusty rifle in and and why didn't she use a head shot to get rid of Largato once and for all. And now she is going to play Florence Nightingale?
Many thanks Hombre.
Decie Girl- Ditto to everything you said and asked.
I was disappointed that Gab/Vero had sex with It's-All-About-Me-And-My-Needs-Right-At-This-Moment-Alejandro.
Clara, I can't think of anything that could derail them, either, but this is a TV and unexpected stuff always happens on TV. What if Bianca changes her mind, realizing this will change her marriage for ever; or worse, what if Bruno backs down again, just as he did when they were supposed to run away together?
Shallowgal, Bianca looks so innocent without make-up, muc more suited for Bruno; their little undercover "mission" turned out to be the comic relief of the show.
NovelaMan, doing the recaps is not stressful, the problem is I don't have the time to do always do them; that is why your help is soo welcomed!
I don'tmind the fact that Bruno and Nina are distant cousins, either, they are like second cousins twice removed or something. For me the ick factor comes from the fact that they were raised as brother and sister in the same house since they were very young. Add the fact that Nina is still acting like a 12 years old most of the time and I get a total turn off when I see them on screen together - when Nina was trying to seduce Bruno the other night, after the prom, it felt so inappropriate, I had to look away.
On the other hand, whenever I see Nina with Yair, I get the fuzzy "rooting for them" feeling, even if Yair mostly ruins my mood buy beinf such a whine.
I didn't like Bianca's car, either, bujt not because it might not have been expensive enough (I have no clue about car prices), but because that huge SUV dosn't feel right for her - she needed something more lady like, IMO.
Since there is no new episode to sink our teeth into, I thought we might try something different.
Things the characters would never say:
Bianca - Don Salo, today I want to to all the cooking, I'm preparing Ariel's favorite dish; you and the rest of the staff can take the day off, my mom is helping me - we love cooking together.
Bruno - I'm not interested in ever finishing college, what I want to do is become a professional escort.
Flavia - I'm moving out of this house, you're all a bunch of crazies that are making me look sane.
Ariel - Senora Flavia, I've made a mistake in marrying Bianca, what I should have done was marry you, send the kids to boarding school and buy you expensive jewelery with their trust funds.
Deniz - I'm such a level headed, calm and rational person, how on Earth did I help raise a whiny little brat like Nina?
Nina - I can't wait to leave for college, get out of this house, I need a break from all the cuddling.
Eliana - Bruno, I'm braking up with you, I need a more experienced man, like Guillermo.
Penelope - I need to start using birth control.
Anyone watch the Premios? The Alfombra? any opinions.
Decie - you're sayin' what I was thinkin'. How did Antonia know where the shoot out would be? And how will she explain her presence at the arena to Rod? Lagarto and Anibal probably decided on the location of the hit, and then Anibal told Antonia who decided to take matters into her own hands. I'm surprised, tho, that she didn't kill Lagarto when she had the chance.
With Rod down, Lucho will be able to run around La Fortaleza like a little bantam rooster. He's become very annoying.
Irene sealed her fate by telling Lucia that they would go far away from SPdO alone because daddy doesn't love them as much as he loves other people. What a monster! She's gone way past b!tch to completely unredeemable as far as I'm concerned.
Novelera - your comments about Ale the other day are so true. He's as much a victim of Antonia's evil manipulations as David, and Ale has tried to do the 'right thing' on numerous occasions.
