PASION PROHIBIDA pt 1

Nina calls Bruno. She wanted to hear his voice (He lies saying he is in college!). When he asks her how she is Nina responds that she is a bit sad. She is thinking about skipping a semester to be with the clan. Bruno thinks this will give her dad a heart attack. She thinks he will understand. It will only be six months. She tells him she loves him. He says he loves her too. He hangs up and asks if Bianca is ready. She responds “almost”.

Sylvia is with Ivan. Flavia runs into them. And they get into an argument. Flavia says Sylvia is disloyal. Sylvia says she was with Flavia when she needed her. Flavia doesn’t want to talk about it anymore. And Eliana catches Flavias eye.

At the kitchen, the servants and Deniz talk about Gabriel when Deniz announces she is leaving. The servants say they will miss her. Deniz says she will still work but will sleep in her own place at night. Tere heads upstairs to leave Biancas phone back in her room, but not before telling Deniz that Bruno called her.

Bianca shows up in a pink gown. Bruno thinks it was worth the wait. The whole day is all to theirselves. They start to get it on until Bianca mentions that she is thirsty. Bruno fetches her a drink.

Yair is at the docks. He tells Gabriel that he wants to work as a sailor. Gabriel knows that he is trying to hide from his problems. He tells him that while the sea looks calm and peaceful once he is in the ocean he will want to return to land. No matter where you are, your problems will find you. Gabriel will give him the job. But only when Yair overcomes his conflicts.

Ariel calls Bruno. Bianca doesn’t want him to answer. He dosent and Ariel hangs up. Bruno slowly unrobes Bianca and they share a hot kiss.

Yair tells Gabriel that his problems aren’t a big deal. Gabe senses that Yairs problems involve a woman. Running away wont stop his feelings. Yair says its possible. Gabriel says that the men in the Piamonte household have women problems. Bruno is also in love with the wrong woman!

Bruno is on top of Bianca when Bianca says that she thought he would change his mind. Bruno says he wont make the same mistake he made last time. She asks him if he is okay doing this to Ariel. He says no but his feelings for Bianca are too strong. As predicted Bianca backs out. She cant betray Ariel. She gets sad and Bruno hugs her saying he doesn’t judge her.

Flavia talks to Eliana. Eliana asks if Bianca is with her, and Flavia says that Bianca is with a friend. When Flavia asks Eliana about Bruno, Eliana says he never answers when he is in class. Flavia says to call, maybe he is taking a break.

PASION PROHIBIDA pt2

Bianca asks if Bruno hates her. He could never do such a thing. He thinks maybe destiny will never let them be together. They are being punished for being in love. Bianca kisses Bruno goodbye.

Brunos phone rings and he takes his anger out on Eliana. He doesn’t want her calling him when he is in school. All she wanted was to say hi. Bruno has had enough of Eliana. He doesn’t want to marry her and he doesn’t want to be her bf he hangs up on her. Flav asks Eli if Bruno will arrive.

Eli tells Flav she doesn’t understand Brunos anger. He seemed okay in the morning. Flav thinks Bruno will apologize, but Eli thinks Bruno spoke the truth.

Deniz enter Ninas room. Nina asks when she is leaving. Deniz says tomorrow but will stay longer if Nina wants, but Nina says it wont change anything. Nina is sad that Deniz Bruno and Yair are leaving. Deniz says its just as hard for Yair. Nina says that Yair confronted her about the supposed kiss with Bruno. Nina thought Deniz would keep it a secret she doesn’t want any rumors in the house. Deniz admits that Yair told her about the kiss and she will deal with it. She asks that Nina respects Yairs decision. It will be hard but nevertheless she does.

Bianca arrives at the Piamonte mansion and runs into Katia who asks if Bianca wants a drink. Bianca declines and asks for her mom. Katia says she went to the fashion show but Gabriel showed up. He proposed to Tere. Bianca doesn’t care. Kat says Biancas phone is in her room which she finds odd. Bianca tells her to shut up. No one asked for her opinion. Kat asks if it went bad at the zoo and leaves when Bianca glares daggers.

Bianca enters her room and thinks about the hotel encounter.
Bianca calls Bruno and apologizes. As much as she loves them their love will never be. He thinks the same. Hey were going to a private place and they couldn’t. Well SHE couldn’t. Bruno says it was hard for him as well. It must be hard for him to sleep his uncles wife. Just as it hard for her to sleep with her husbands nephew. He cant stop loving her. They cant distance their selves like last time. Bianca is condemned to love him and hangs up. She starts to cry.

In the living room, Ariel is telling Flav to be careful around her reconciliation with Sylvia when Bianca arrives. Flav is glad that Bianca isn’t dressed like a bum! Ariel thought Bianca was going to spend the whole day at the zoo. But Bianca says that her friend canceled and they would do it another time. Flav says she will miss deniz when shes gone. She looks out the window and sees Bruno.

Yair says being a fisherman isn’t his thing. He needs a job that will keep him occupied 24/7. Cel is tired of him repeating himself. But Salo says Yair has a right to look to his future. Yair wants to works as a waiter or kitchen assistent on a cruise line.

Bruno walks in the living room. Ariel says he called him and he never answered. Bruno says he mustve been in class. Flav spills the beans about Bruno breakup with Eli. Bruno tells Ariel he didn’t love her. Flav says they will get back together. But Bruno says this time its for good.

PASION PROHIBIDA pt3

Nina is playing the piano when Bruno walks in. He tells her he should get a career out of playing piano. Nina says he is exaggerating but he means it. He asks if she is sad about Deniz leaving. She is and also because of Yair. Hes mad at Nina because of a stupid rumor that she and Bruno kissed. Supposedly Yair saw them and told Deniz. Bruno asks Nina if she wants to hang out with him.

Flav says that she feels guilty for Eli since she told her to call Bruno. Bia says she doesn’t care about their life and their ups and downs. Flav talks about the call Bruno left Bia. And on the day Bia went to the zoo. Flav wants Bia to admit that she spent the day with Bruno.

Bia doesn’t want her to touch her phone again. They start to argue until Bruno and Nina arrive. They are going to eat out. Nina says she needs to get ready but Bruno and Flav tell her she looks good. Nina and Bruno leave.

Deniz is packing. Ariel comes in and mentions the servants relationship with Gabriel. She wants to apologize for what she said about Bia. Ariel says there are no hard feelings. He thanks her for everything shes done for the clan and wishes her the best.

Bruno tells Nina that he is done with Eli so he is staying in the house. Nina will never leave. Bruno says she will when she gets her first boyfriend. Nina says she wont be bringing men in the house. Bruno says that he cant believe that Deniz thought he kissed her. Nina says Deniz needs glasses.

Yair is in the kitchen and Ariel walks in. Yair tells him that he is still leaving and is planning his future. He wants Yair to take care of his health. Yair insists its not a big deal. But Ariel has found good doctors for him. Ariel says maybe he can help Yair get a better paying job. He thinks Ariel is a saint but he says it’s the least he can do for Yair since hes part of the family. He is like a brother to Nina.

Flav tells Bia to go to sleep. Ariel arrives and says he thought the two would be asleep by now. Bia says he also took a long time with Deniz. He tells the two about Tere being in love. Yair wanting a cruise job and Deniz leaving. Many changes in the house. Flav never thought Deniz would never leave. Ariel says the changes are affecting Nina the most. He asks if Nina is asleep. Bia says he took her out to eat to lift her spirits. Ariel says Hes a good cousin. Flav thinks hes a terrible boyfriend. Ariel says Bruno will never stop being a Casanova. He heads for the bedroom and Flav decides to go to sleep as well. Bia wants one more drink.

Bia walks outside and stand by her highlander. And remembers her hotel encounter until she sees Bruno show up in his BMW. Nina says she and Bruno should do this more often. The he sees Bia and says he will give the bag to the cats. Nina leaves.

Bruno enter the workshop and Bia is inside. Of course they cant control their selves alone and together. The kiss and start to get it on. Nina enters Brunos room and he isn’t there. Deniz is walking down the hall and Yair is outside shutting off a water sprinkler. Of course Bruno and Bia are kissing like crazy unaware of the danger. This time Bia wont back down. They get it on.

PASION PROHIBIDA pt4

In Flavs room, Kat says Bruno and Nina arrived. Nina went to sleep and Bruno went to the workshop. Flav asks if Bia went to sleep. Kat says she last saw Bia was in the garden. Flav send Kat to sleep and heads outside.

Bruno and Bianca are kissing and say they love each other unfortunately someone is spying on them. B&B hear a crash…..

LA PATRONA – VIERNES

I was glued to my TV for the Golden State Warriers’ victory over the Denver Nuggets. We’re getting pretty big headed around here with the World Series Champion Giants, the made-it-to-the-Super Bowl 49ers, and now the Warriers in the basketball playoffs after a long drought. So I was drained when I watched my recording of the novela! And this will be perfunctory.

So we’re back to Antonia talking to an unconscious Rodrigo Balmaceda in a warehouse or stable, not sure which. It’s pretty clear she’s got it bad for him. She says she only fell in love once, when she was very poor, for an older man, and not since. Rod is delirious with fever and starts talking about “Antonia” and “mi amor”. Well, I’m 99% sure he’s speaking of the other Antonia he mentioned in passing in his hotel room after the bruja left.

We see Lagarto fleeing in the police car, but he’s lost a lot of blood. He passes out at the wheel and smashes the car into a tree. Later we see him on the ground, and some guy in a pickup finds him. I hope this isn’t a case of mala hierba nunca muere. I’m so over Chacón.

Ricardo is worried about Rod and, in a pretty funny scene, tells Patti he’s going looking for him. But he leaves on his suit and tie!

For the first time we hear that David has a life plan. He says he plans to go to the University of Monterrey. He wants to study mine engineering and metallurgy.

Lucho is getting on my last nerve. He dresses up like a doctor to get in to see Irene to talk her out of leaving the area.

Balmaceda wakes up and asks Antonia what she’s doing there. He asks if they spent the night together.

Irene is released from the hospital and is leaving La Dorada. She upsets Lucía by saying Alejandro can’t see the child whenever he wants.

Lucho is back at the radio station. Gastón for at least the 10th time tells Lucho that Vero is NOT his woman. Lucho punches him. Then Lucho taunts Gastón about G’s speaking to a photo of Tigre, asking permission to court Francisca. Gastón punches Lucho. Good!

Irene has brought Lucía to her dead parents’ house. When Lucía asks about her father, the nasty bitch tells her that her father is bad and doesn’t love them. Lucía isn’t buying this tale and calls her mother a liar.

Antonia has brought Rod to the hospital after managing to get his fever down over night. She tells everyone she found him by the side of the road. Later Poncia tells Aníbal that Antonia rescued Balmaceda. Smoke comes out of Aníbal’s ears.

Lucho marches into Irene’s house. Guess he remembered how to get in after all his visits to Luz. He says he has a trick to get Alejandro back.

Rodrigo wakes up, and Antonia plants a big wet kiss on him He asks why she did that since she detests him. She tells him things changed since last night. She says he called her my love many times. He’s confused, to say the least.

Lucho asks Irene to let him stay in her house while they plan to get back Alejandro and Veronica.

Pasión Prohibida -

thanks so much NovelaMan,

wow, so once again they are off,
in a safe place,
no one will ever find out, and...
we can't do this...

but back at the house,
(surely to be caught),
and they both loose control,

these two are so doomed...

Pasion Prohibida

Thank you for the recap, NovelaMan!

All I can say now is WOW, does Bianca thrive on the danger of getting caught? She couldn't do it in a hotel room where they were perfectly safe but she has no problems doing it in Ariel's taller, with everybody around??? Granted, she'd been drinking some, and so did Bruno while out in the town.
I loved that fact that Bruno didn't back down in the hotel when she changed her mind and he was so understanding (unlike her when HE changed his mind).
I believe the hotel scene was necessary to make us see how much they both suffer because of what they're doing to Ariel. Bianca was especially heartbreaking after she talked to Bruno from her bathroom.

Did Eliana get the surprise of a lifetime when she called Bruno? LOL

When Bruno asked Nina out I didn't like it one bit, but then I realized he only wanted to talk to her about the kissing that never happened - he wanted to make sure she would not tell anyone else. So Bruno is still Team Bianca.

Going back to the taller scene, I am kind of disappointed that the 'first time' doesn't belong to just B&B, we got to see all these other people doing stuff, wondering who will catch them. But I guess that is the way you need to write a scene like this, when the lovebirds are doing stuff of the forbidden kind.

And now, let's speculate! Who do you think saw them? My money is on Yair,he was already in the garden and this way he will know for sure Nina wasn't with Bruno that night, so he won't need to leave anymore (and maybe then he and Nina can do some more kissing because I really like these two together).

Pasion Prohibida

Beth, YES, they are doomed and prove one more time that they are thinking with their hearts instead of their brains.
But of course Bianca was all hot and bothered because Bruno had gone out with Nina and Bruno, well, Bruno is a man...

And before I forget, did anyone else laugh when Nina thought Bruno was flirting with her during their night out? Boy, did he cut her wings abruptly!

LA PATRONA:

Thanks for the recap, Novelera. You covered all the main points of this (for me) very entertaining episode. I just can't stop laughing at Antonia in love.

I'm guessing that both Gertrudis and Lagarto are alive. On these shows, until there's a funeral, we can't count someone out. But I don't think Lagarto is long for this world. Antonia has given Macario the green light to finish him off.

I often think that shows have 3 phases, but this one seems to have at least 4. The first part was Gaby's suffering, the second was Veronica, and her plans for revenge (all going great for a while). But now, we're sort of in a no man's land, with a new character, the tides shifting back and forth as to who wins various fights, lots of moral quandaries. We're a long way from the final portion, where (probably), the villains will get REALLY desperate, and the good guys will have to be really resourceful to win the day.

But meanwhile, we can enjoy Antonia telling David he can have fun with his little Cecilia, not mad at Valentina, actually PLEASANT at breakfast! Yes, Poncia (the conscience of this show) can only wonder in amusement what brought this about.

LA PATRONA

Novelera - thanks for the quick mini-cap. I loved the way this episode turned out.

I was glad to see that Lucia doesn't believe Irene's lies about Ale not loving her. Don't know how this will play out in SPdTN, but, in real life, Irene's suicide gesture plus her daughter's statements would result in Ale getting at least 50% custody.

So Antonia had an older lover she adored decades ago. I wonder what, if anything, that will have on the plot. Anyway, her behavior at breakfast was hilarious. Maybe all the evil witch has needed all these years is the love of a good man... But, just wait till he rejects (or arrests) her.

Ricardo going out to search for Rod and wearing a suit and tie - too funny!

Lucho living with Irene, Antonia falling in love, what has SPdTN devolved into?

Beth

La Patrona -

thanks so much novelera,

I too was thinking hot Rod was dreaming of his past love,
but more so, I was wondering why Antonia didn't just call for an ambulance,

ah yes Lagarto,
(he must be 10# heavier with all of the lead in him)
he so doesn't fit in too well anymore, so I like him being around,
his macho way of doing things has him walking into walls,
and wouldn't it be nice if he realizes Antonia shot him,

so David has plotted out his future,
and with the mention of Tigre,
it was interesting watching Gabriela choking back her emotions,
and leaving the table,

the hothead jealous Lucho is hard to watch,
but I do like it when he is playful,
I hope he finds a clever way to play this out,
he has already got Irene off her lying around, dying kick,

alas poor Lucia,
always pampered by her dad,
always ignored by her mother,
and chemo is so tough on a person,
I don't think Alejandro has any choice but to go along with Irene,
to calm the waters for Lucia's sake, as long as she is sick.

Gabriel Valenzuela was interviwed on NBC news saying he was going to be in MARIDO EN ALQUILER, but his isnt isnt in the cast on wikipedia or anywhere else.

PASIóN PROHIBIDA

NovelaMan - thanks for the 4part recap.

Is it just me, or was that the most anti-climactic love scene ever? I have seen hotter ones (check on youtube Jencarlos and Gaby Espino's in Mas Sabe el Diablo, for one). Also, Bianca was the only one saying "I love you." I counted at least 4times, and Bruno didn't once reciprocate. hmmmm....

AdrianaNoel - As for Bruno not backing down... of course he's not gonna back down from sex, if that's what you meant. he backed down from the most important thing... running away together. no comparison there. Bianca had the right to be angry at that. And HA! to Nina, when Bruno 'clipped her wings'... I was real happy 'bout that.

PASION PROHIBIDA

Look at what I just made :D
http://mememaker.org/pasion-prohibida-zoo/?published=published (don't know how to make this a link, sorry!)

I just can't get over the whole "zoo" thing... weirdest alibi ever!!

AnotherAmy

PASIóN PROHIBIDA

LOL!! AnotherAmy.

Poor Eliana. Bruno sure did bring out his 'frustration' on her. That's what the 'f' gets for meddling.

Pasion Prohibida
Thanks a lot, Novela Man! You caught a good episode.
Maybe the hotel room scene also served to balance the scales, now they've each backed away at a critical point.
Yes, derailed by Bianca, but not for long. In the taller by day's end! Naked [at least from the waist up?] in front of a window. Yes, they have lost their minds completely.
Yair is a good bet for the discoverer, AdrianaNoel, but I vote Flavia. She knows the most about B/B, and as a well-known metiche is likely to prowl around and investigate. Also serves to move the plot forward without the world coming to an end [as if, say, it was Nina].
Clara

LA PATRONA

That whole Hot Rod & Antonia in the hay overnight made no sense at all. For all she knew he was a death's door. Obviously he was thinking of the other Antonia while this one egotistically thinks he means her. Boy is she in for a surprise. Her roadside finding him and taking to a hospital in another town story made no sense but I guess it isn't supposed to.

The stunned looks on everyone's faces with her little breakfast speech was hilarious. You could only think she had been smoking something. Her whole persona was out of character.

Lucho has crossed over to the dark side. Scheming with irene and getting into a fight with Gaston. Pretty much seals the deal that he is not long for this world and definitely will not waltz off into the sunset with Gaby.

LA PATRONA:

Oh man. Wait till the meds wear off and Hot Rod starts to reject Antonia and treat her like a crazy woman. I think she'll be b*tchier than ever!

I'm ready for Irene to be bumped off. Really, everyone in that family is/was unbearable and deserves to be killed just to put us out of our misery. I think I might want her dead more than I did her dad. The way she's treating her sick daughter and trying to brainwash her is the final straw for me.

I am also sick of Lucho. The only good thing he did this episode was asking Irene not to use Lucia as a tool against Alejandro.

I feel like our main storylines have been sidetracked by this Irene sticking it to Ale, Lucho being an a**, and Antonia in love business. Meanwhile no one is working on bringing the Lobos down, Max is wasting away in jail, and Vale's poisoning and inheritance story has stalled.

LA PATRONA

Vivi, you and I are definitely thinking along the same lines.

I can't stand watching Irene try to spite Alejandro through her daughter.

And Lucho, who was so sprightly and entertaining before has done a 180. I guess they sort of meant earlier on that "the love of a good woman" set him on the right path. He was actually heroic helping Gaby and Constanza get out of the nuthouse and sell El Tigre's gold nuggets.

Now, he's cast in the thankless role of the classic telenovela staple: the obsessive "other man" who won't give up trying to get the protagonista to fall for him no matter what.

Yes, it should prove explosive when Antonia finds out she's NOT the one he was babbling about in his delirium. But they may keep her in the dark a few more episodes for the comic relief of Antonia in Love.

La Patrona -

let's talk bout Alejandro...

it is a really touching story about Gabriela's past, the trauma that Fernando brought to her life by raping her, her never knowing who it was, always hiding it from everyone, and the daily shame that comes with being an unwed mother,

enter Alejandro, who gently walked her out of that chasm, and showed her Love, between a man and a woman, probably the greatest gift that anyone could have ever given her,

so yes, Alejandro is the only man she will ever love,

but on the other side of the coin, will Alejandro ever be worthy of Gabriela,

so when Gabriela's entire life came crashing down, under the thumb of Antonia, was Alejandro there for her, no,

does he even have a clue what she went through at the hands of Gertrudis in the manicomio, including the 4 years in the catacumba, barefoot, wearing that same torn dress, alone, peering out of the darkness,

are these two soul mates, where they feel the others pain, no,

what was Alejandro doing all those years,
well, he married Gabriela's evil best friend and moved back home with his mother,
and did he think of Gabriela everyday, well, at least enough to torment his wife,

is Alejandro seeking the truth, to right this terrible wrong,
well it seems to me he is just trying to reignite the passion he had with Gabriela,
first with Irene, then Patti, and now Veronica,

I had a hard time watching Alejandro whine his way into Veronica's bed,
while his wife lay dying,

so what is the elephant standing in the middle of the room that no one talks about,
could it be Alejandro's relationship with his mother,
has anything changed here,
he continues to live at home with her, forever clueless,

is this a Gran Amor?

Exactly Deb. I can't canta victoria at a married dude getting with Vero. I'm still wondering when has it been moral or OK to have your protagonista sleeping with a married man???

Alejandro needs to grow up! And Gaby coming back was a good chance for him to do so. But so far, all I see is a spoiled brat, who's a good Dad, basically crying two tears and jumping into bed with Vero.

This is the thing that bothers me with the novela. Patti and Ricardo have grown up...David is growing up. Why is Ale still stuck and not growing up. He's still spoiled and entitled just as Lucho said he was a mama's boy who doesn't respect unavailable women's boundaries.

I love Jorge Luis Pila, but I'm convinced someone at Telemundo hates him. They must plan on killing him off to make him worthy of Vero because as fine as Ale is, he shouldn't be near Vero at this stage. I was so disgusted at him with Vero while Irene was trying to kill herself.

Ale can legitimately grow up, get over his trust issues with women, because JLP is a great actor who can pull it off. The writers haven't given him any material to show that growth.

I always compare Ale to Fer because they similar:in loveless marriages their Mom engineered trying to become decent me. Fer always had my sympathy because he tried to grow up and stood up to his mother died to save Gaby to make up for raping her. Ale is still stuck and I'm wondering why.

LA PATRONA:

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm going to say something positive about Alejandro. He HAD to try to win back Vero, over and over. Because if he didn't, she never would have broken through her shell, her armor, which kept her hating the world. Alejandro's insistence that he loved Gaby, and loves Vero, was the only thing that could finally bring her back to life. Yes, he's married to Irene. But that was a marriage of convenience, Irene tricked him by getting pregnant, then almost making him marry her to save her "honor". He told her from the start he didn't love her. At this point, I pretty much consider them separated. If he's separated, I think he can sleep with the woman he really loves, whom he's going to marry. I don't care that he's still legally married, in this case, I don't count that.

As for Fernando, he was the lowest of all scum. He raped Gabriela. When he found out he was David's father, he hounded Gaby to marry him, even though she loathed him and was repulsed by him. The fact that he saved her in the mine means NOTHING. It does not redeem him at all, it was just a quick decision by a horrible evil person. So what.

And I don't care that he was Antonia's son. He could have turned out good like Alejandro, also Antonia's son, who would never rape someone, who is honest, hardworking. Alejandro may be pursuing Vero, but she LOVES him. That's a big different from Fernando pursuing her when she HATED him. And as others have pointed out, Alejandro has no idea of what suffering Gaby went through in the the manicomio. None. And I still think he believes she is dead, that Vero is just like her, but is not her.

Others may disagree with me, but I believe Alejandro is a true hero, faced with the very difficult job of facing his errors, of not hurting his wife or daughter, of gradually, patiently melting Veronica's icy shell. Just my opinion.

LA PATRONA:Men and women view Ale differently. Women are tougher on him because we want him with GabyVero, but he has to redeem himself to deserve her. She has gone through too much to end up with an emotionally stunted Ale. And getting Vero to fall in love him again doesn't count. She never was not enamorado de el. I always say jokingly she always loved him because Ale's name would've been the easiest to remember to put on the catacumba wall-it starts with A and ends in B.

I keep on going back to that talk he and David had and Ale saying they are the same when it comes to their Moms-it explained so much about Ale's love-hate relationship with his Mom, but reflected how sad it was that a near 40 yr old man was in some ways as emotionally stunted as his 17 yr old nephew. I want Ale to get over his mother before he gets GabyVero b/c that's the root of all his trust issues with women.

Wrt Fer, I sympathized with him because the writers made it clear that him raping was a nurture, not nature issue. I also thought he really did love Gaby but his nurture, being raised by Guerra, perverted his ethics. Think of how close David came to being like Fer before Poncia, Vero and Ale basically set him straight. Fer didn't make a snap decision to save Gaby-he did it because he realized he was dead wrong and stood up to his mother after Gaby told him he needs to deal with the fact his mother was awful. I think after that talk with Gaby when he was trying to warn her that Guerra was setting a trap for her, he realized he and Gaby would never be an item. Also, the fact he confessed to the priest showed that he had become an ok person, but he had to die saving Gaby to make up for destroying her life at 16.

I bring this up because Guerra hates/ed Gaby because of Fer treasuring Gaby more than his mother. I think he stood up to Guerra in ep 19 and told her that coming from her womb was disgusting and that he hated her. And because he hated Guerra he wasn't going to stand by and let her kill Gaby. Fer only went to rehab because he thought Guerra was going to engineer Gaby marrying him. That hurt Guerra as did the fact Ale also chose Gaby over her when they were going to get married. Killing Tigre and Gaby wasn't just about Chamuco, it was about getting back at Gaby for both her sons choosing Gaby over Guerra. And now Ale is going to have to make that choice again.

LA PATRONA

I fault Alejandro for being dense about the extent of the evil of los lobos and all that has stemmed from that blindness: refusing to believe Poncia when she told him that Antonia killed his father, not seeing the signs that pointed to Gabriela being framed for the mine explosion, not listening to her in the manicomio when she told him that she hadn't intentionally induced a miscarriage but that Macario had done it "a patadas" at his mother's orders, etc.

But when it comes to Irene, I have NO problem with him cheating on her. I think he's actually been hard on himself and soft on her. He's always apologizing to her and castigating himself for being a "mal marido," despite the fact that she ensnared him into marrying her when she knew he didn't love her, is a lousy mother, a poisonous b*tch, and an all around wretched excuse for a human being. In his position I would tell her all of those home truths, and repeatedly. He of course doesn't know the role she played in framing and tormenting Gabriela, but has seen plenty of her nastiness towards her. I'm right there with Vivi in hoping that she makes the death-list soon.

LA PATRONA

Not all women see things differently than men. I agree 100% with Hombre's comment.

I don't think Alejandro is that bad of a guy. I've already posted that the drugs that Gertrudis gave Gabriela made her appear completely crazy.

He DID try again and again to get to see her when she was in the nuthouse, but Gertrudis had orders from Antonia not to let anyone see her.

LA PATRONA

I'm with you Hombre. Ale is flawed and naive, but basically he's a decent man who has tried to be stronger on numerous occasions. He's intelligent and a smart business man but when it comes to his mother and the lobos, he has a hard time grasping the extent of the harm they do. He certainly has mommy issues, but so many of our galans have had to overcome the evil done by their terrible mothers.

Ale told Irene straight up before they were married that he was marrying her only because of the baby and that he didn't love her. In fact, that's why he refused to be married in the church and went through the civil ceremony to give the baby his name.

Fer, on the other hand, was an obsessive rapist who stalked and tormented his victim, and then tried to use her child to blackmail her when he found out he had impregnated her. There was no redemption for him - he had to die.

Monday

Bruno and Bianca are in the taller naked, when they hear noise outside - they think someone is watching them, Bianca freaks out completely, but Bruno can't see anyone when he goes to check out.
They are not sure that someone saw them, but they decide that Bruno shouldn't spend the night in the mansion.

When she gets back in the house Bianca meets Nina and Deniz in the hallway. Nina is looking for Bruno, but it doesn't look like she knows anything. Bianca suspects Deniz anyway, but the nanny doesn't say a word. Instead, they notice that Bianca has lost an earing.
After she goes back to the taller in search for the lost jewelery, Bianca is hit by the gravity of what she's done and starts crying.

In the mean time Ariel is out of his room, looking for her and he finds Flavia staying alone in the dark, crying. She doesn't want to talk about it, just says that she feels lonely.
Eventually Ariel goes outside in search of Bianca. She has already told Bruno on the phone that she lost her earing and that Deniz has to be the person who saw them.
Ariel finds Bianca in the garden, they go inside, just as a gloved hand picks up Bianca's earing from the ground. I am at this point sure it was Yair, but who knows...

In their room, Bianca feels like writing in the diary (really, Bianca, now?) and Ariel is kind of curious about it but eventually lets it go (the next morning he has a moment when he almost reads it again). He mentions to Bianca that Flavia was feeling very bad and Bianca start suspecting that maybe it was her mother who saw her with Bruno - she sends Bruno a text to let him know.

Deniz is tucking Nina in and takes advantage of the moment to warn her that people who love her might end up hurting her and that she needs to take care of her dad. But Nina's mind can't deal with the possibility of someone in the family hurting her.

The next morning Deniz is ready to go to her new apartment. Ariel and the kids join her, but Bianca says she already has plans with Penelope. Bianca tried to talk to Flavia, but her mother left early in the morning and is not answering her phone calls. Katia tells her Flavia is worried for her daughters, especially for her, finds out she was in the garden last night, too.

Bruno spent the night in some room on the dock; he meets Gabriel and asks for his phone to call home (he's run out of battery). Teresa answers and Bruno verifies that everything is alright with the family (nobody said anything about him and Bianca).

Don Salo is complaining that the cats broke one of his flower pots, which only makes Bianca more worried.

Later she ends up on the dock, with Bruno and they talk about whether it was Deniz or Flavia who saw them and what are they going to do next. Bruno thinks they should stop thinking about what happened, he is sure nobody saw them; he is very happy and in love with her, but Bianca is really struggling with this new reality now.

LA PATRONA:

I think it's a sign of a good show when it generates lots of debate, when we're never quite sure what the characters are going to do next.

Rodrigo at first is his usual smug, professional, almost rude self to Antonia in the hospital when she kisses him, and she stalks off. But later he finds that SHE is the one who shot Lagarto and saved him. And he remarks to himself, there's just something about that woman. He calls her back, and this time he kisses HER. Is he really smitten with her (I'm guessing yes), or is this just an act?

Ines seems to want to take her sex therapy with Ricardo to the next level. She leans forward, showing him some nice escote, and he likes what he sees. But when she suggests some "exercises" with "professional" sex therapists (including her?), he thinks it's sort of like prostitution, which started his problem in the first place. He has to leave before we find out more.

Ricardo visits a very wounded Lagarto in the hospital (don't know if there are guards), who's apparently lost a kidney, foot's about to go, Ric wants Lagarto to confess to all, or he probably will be silenced by his enemies (such as Macario, who volunteers to Anibal for the job).

And Lucho becomes entertaining? First, he secretly cooks a meal, which Lucia thinks her Mom made, but she thought Irene couldn't cook. Irene likes it, too. She also calls a service for a domestic, but they don't have anyone right now, so when she gets a call from the club to pick up drunk Alejandro, she leaves Lucho to babysit Lucia. Lucia is at first scared until Lucho says he's the "house imp" (duende de la casa). He proceeds to do a magic trick, and the young girl is charmed.

Francisca goes to visit Estrella in the Dollhouse, her former boss insults her of course, and then Fran and Estrella get into a catfight, both ending in jail. Vero bails out Fran, then bails out Estrella, offering her money, or a trip to the US for her safety. Estrella is too scared to accept, but Vero can tell that Estrella definitely was paid off to lie about Max.

Vero also gets a call to pick up drunk Alejandro at the club, and she gets there before Irene. She's going to take him back to her place, Irene finds out, and she sure is mad! BTW, Irene was really mean to Ale in front of little Lucia (which caused Ale to drink), and so far Irene's ignoring Lucho's advice. But she's reaching her breaking point.

LA PATRONA:

I agree with most of what everyone's saying about Alejandro, that he isn't a malvado, but his naivete and denial is wearisome. When he first came into SPDO, he was somewhat sensible, but the longer he's been there, he's gotten more awfully dense. I just want him to catch a clue one day. Fer's redemption was dying for Gaby to make up for killing her innocence. I'm not saying he should have lived, but dying for Gaby was the least he could have done to make up for raping her.

Irene is awful. I've never like her but last night was el colmo! I literally said to myself watching the ep, "How did Alejandro not kill this woman in her sleep in the ten years he's been married to her?" I'm not that awful in real life, but I so wanted to slap Irene upside the head for her behavior towards Lucia last night. It was sad Lucho had to give her "Act like a grown woman, instead of a spoiled child and maybe you'll get your man back" lessons.

How do you allow your child to see your marriage disintegrating in that regard and bad-mouth her father like that? And Irene knew she was wrong too, because her eyes looked guilty when Lucia sat on the floor and started crying that her father left. Alejandro has never bad-mouthed Irene in public, AT ALL! And even last night when Irene was hysterical and screaming at him, he kept his voice low and got close to Irene to speak with her so as not to traumatize Lucia. He's a great dad! With Irene trying to kill someone tonight that's gonna make any judge give him full custody of Lucia. He deserves it!

WRT Lucho: I thought the ep was interesting in that Lucho finally gets to see that Ale isn't as a bad person as he thought. He only saw Ale as this awful horndog with Patti and Vero, but since living with Irene, he sees him as the only loving parent Lucia has, and he completely gotten why Ale was chasing Vero. I think he'll eventually allow the Vero-Ale union to happen because he's seeing that Ale really did love Gaby and was stuck in an awful marriage. He has gone completely to the dark side yet.

Ale: Wins cool points for playing dolls with his daughter and for saying a man's home is the woman he loves. Aaww!

Francisca: The fight with Estrella, whose accent sounds very Italian/Southern cone (Argentina or Chile-like) and bothers me, was hilarious. How did Stella know about Gaston and Francisca?

Vero: Why did she talk with Estrella in Balmaceda's office? It's private but it could be bugged, no?

General: I love this TN because they recycle outfits in different ways on the two leads like women do in real life. The shirt Vero had on last night with jeans, she wore the first time she went to the Country Club with Prudencia with a black skirt. Vero also has a shift dress that's in two different colors. And they do the same thing with Guerra too. She's reworn the red leather jacket at least three times and a red houndstooth jacket. I'm not a fashionista usually, but I notice they reuse outfits on this show, which strikes me as authentic and savvy.

Pasión Prohibida -

thanks so much AdrianaNoel,

hmm, who wears black gloves at night in Florida,
maybe it's a serial killer, ha!

if they hadn't had the camera angle up high we could blame those darn cats,

and why didn't they jump up and grab their clothes,
instead they wrap blankets around themselves and run around like idiots,

I am so glad that I am not them.

LA PATRONA

JdesdeNYC: I've never thought that Estrella was supposed to be a native Spanish speaker of any sort. To me her accent, and her looks, seem Slavic/Eastern European.

Karamy

Karamy,

Your theory on Estrella sounds better than mine. Her accent does sound more E. European/Slavic. I just don't like it when she talks. It sounds like she's eating medium sized stones.

LA PATRONA

For me last night's episode was a hoot. The highlight was the cat fight at the cat house. I just love Francisca's intensity about her family.

And Rod the Bod - is he really smitten with Antonia or is his kissing her an act so he can get more information on her illegal activities? I think he's playing games with her, and he'll use every trick available to get his (wo)man.

Half-dead Lagarto - who would have guessed that Antonia is such a good shot and able to hit so many vital spots on his body. She didn't quite kill him, but he's definitely suffering. I almost felt sorry for him.

Ines - sex therapy with Ricardo? That whole scene made me very apprehensive. There was something very strange and unprofessional about the way she flaunted her cleavage and brought up the subject with him.

Irene continues down her path to Hell. Her treatment of Lucia is criminal! I hope the writers get rid of her quickly and in a way that won't further traumatize poor Lucia.

The gun Lucia found foreshadows tragedy. Somebody's going to get shot.

JdesdeNYC: (Fer's) dying for Gaby was the least he could have done to make up for raping her. Amen!

Beth

LA PATRONA

Thanks for the recap, Hombre.

I was hoping Estrella would cave when Vero offered her ten times what she was being paid, but no dice.

The novela isn't close enough to the finish for Chacón to have spilled his guts to Ricardo, so I predict Macario will get to him first.

I think Rod the Bod (Thanks, Beth!) is playing Antonia.

I almost forgave Lucho for being such a jerk and even punching Gastón for telling him the truth when he was so sweet to Lucía. That is one pretty little girl when she smiles!

Irene even admitted to Lucho that she doesn't love her child. I don't think what she feels for Alejandro could be called love either. She set her cap for him years and years ago and has been completely obsessive about "getting him" and in a major case of denial that he's ever going to do more than tolerate having her in the same room.

I don't agree that Alejandro is in denial. He's expressed all the way through that his mother is capable of anything. He just hasn't had concrete proof of what she and the other lobos were up to. He's also stood up for Valentina and her relationship with Max. He's been a big part of David's turnaround, giving him a great man-to-man talk when Vero caught him in bed with Cecilia.

LA PATRONA

One more thing about Irene. When the child was saying how wonderful her breakfast was, Irene took a bite, and Lucho overheard her saying they'd share it! So she's going to eat half her sick child's food!

OIrene is pathetic. She us a classic consentida-spoiled, entitled, and selfish. I'm surprised she asked Lucia if she wasn't hungry.

Unlike her sisters, Irene wss given everything she wanted-those beauty titles that her father engineered for her to get the prime example, so she's mever had to work for anything. Ale is the one thing she wanted and couldn't get-even if she has his last name. That's why shs's screamy and hysterical.

She doesn't love him at all because they are so incompatible. He's very family-oriented, she doesn't like kids. Ale did everything for Lucia but push her out the womb and breastfeed her. The time skip when they showed Gaby walking in the catacumba and the lives of the Montemar girls was great because you saw that Ale was very much into caring for Lucia and wanted Irene to do that too, but she was pushing it off on Poncia and focused on herself. Even before he had Lucia, he was very fatherly towards young Valentina and took her, Max and David on his first date with Gaby. It was a throw-away thing that he said while on the date, but he knew Valentina didn't know how to swim and warned her not to go into the water.

So Irene and Ale weren't gonna work because they weren't compatible.

LA PATRONA – MARTES – Part 1

Irene shows up at La Fortaleza, sees Alejandro staggering between Gastón and Vero and calls Vero a brazen person for taking her husband. Vero sensibly reminds her that no one had any idea she’d show up at the club, and she was going to let him sober up and send him home. Ale says what’s on my mind: “What right does she have to say a word? She left HIM, taking his daughter. And as far as he’s concerned, they’re through!”

Ricardo asks Gonzalez to stay with Chacón until he can get some more guards there.

Antonia comes home grinning like a Cheshire Cat, surprising David. Poncia tells him she’s losing it!

Irene tells Lucho that Alejandro and Vero are living together. What? From her rescuing a drunk guy from the club she conclues that they're cohabiting. Shut up, Irene! She tells Lucho he’s no help to her and he should get out. Lucho tells her he found Lucía playing with a loaded gun, and that’s how useful he was today.

Estrella is trying to sneak out of the Casa de las Muñecas, but the madam, Azucena, makes a big scene. Of course, shitty little Lucas overhears and calls Antonia. Wow! Guerra shows up at the whorehouse in person and tells Estrella, if she leaves today, it will be feet first. More news. Antonia actually gets a piece of the profits from the whorehouse!

Aníbal overhears Ricardo tell Patti which hospital Chacón is in.

Alejandro pretends to be passed out on Vero’s bed. Vero tells him how much she loves him. Although she can never have him, she loves him more than any woman ever could. He smiles, face down.

Lucho is getting drunk. When Irene says she could have killed them both, Lucho gives her the gun he found in yesterday’s episode, the same day in telenovela time. [OK, this is a perfect example of the famous saying of Anton Chekhov: “If one shows a loaded gun on stage in the first act of a play, it should be fired in a later act; otherwise, the gun should not be shown in the first place.”] We still don’t know if it will be fired, but it’s definitely added spice to the plot.

Vero again says how much she loves Alejandro and this time he gets up and starts kissing her.

Lucho tells Irene to only kill Alejandro. He taunts her with Ale’s infidelities and even over-eggs the pudding by saying Ale didn’t care about Lucía’s illness.

We get a FINE love scene with Alejandro and Veronica. If ever two people deserved to make love to each other, these two do.

Aníbal comes to tell Antonia about where Lagarto is recovering, and she calls Macario.

LA PATRONA – MARTES – Part 2

Gaston brings flowers to Francisca, and things are definitely heating up with these two, at least until Gastón spies El Tigre’s photo in her bedroom. They adjourn to another bedroom. Good!

Vero manages to have hot sex without messing up her eye makeup! Ale gets up to get water and notices Ricardo. He hears him speak to a woman, but Constanza hides behind the door. Vero comes and drags him away before he can discover what’s up

Lots of guards are protecting Lagarto. We see Macario and his evil apprentice, Lucas, at the hospital, but there are too many guards.

Lucho has sneaked onto La Fortaleza and sees Alejandro leaving the next morning. Gastón slaps Ale on the back in a friendly way, and Lucho says his only friend is helping Ale and Vero.

Ricardo offers to put Rod the Bod up when he’s released from the hospital, but Antonia walks in: Mejor la mía, she says, smiling smugly. Rod tells Ricardo he’s going to stay with Antonia. Then after she leaves, he tells Ricardo he’s doing it to investigate her. [My man Rod; I knew he wasn’t falling for the bruja!]

Macario tells Aníbal he couldn’t finish off Lagarto for all the guards, but he won’t rest until he does so.

Lucho tells Irene that Alejandro spent the night with Vero. We have to do something, he says. [the classic line of the guy who’s NOT going to get the girl]. Lucho tells Irene she needs to go to the shareholders meeting today with the gun. Irene’s not completely nuts. She asks him if he thinks she’s an idiot. He says he just wants her to scare them.

Gertrudis is locked up, totally nuts, hallucinating. The border police guys say they can’t get her to identify herself; 3 days in the desert have addled her brain. They decide to send her fingerprints to Mexico to see if anyone can identify her.

Lucía and Ricardito are playing. Lucía tells him about her duende, and he scoffs at this. Then he tells her that his grandmother Constanza is alive. Aníbal overhears, but blows it off as kids’ imaginations.

Francisca and Gastón try to tell Max in an indirect way about their relationship. Max blurts out that his mother should be past that sort of thing and, furthermore, no man could measure up to El Tigre Suárez.

Antonia tells Aníbal that she is bringing Rodrigo to her house to keep an eye on him and he laughs in her face.

Rod asks Gonzalez to investigate lots of things. When Gonzo says that Lagarto had an amazing olfato, a nose for finding evidence, Rod scoffs, saying he probably planted the evidence he found so quickly.

Irene comes to the meeting and points her gun at a room where Vero, Ale and Valentina are waiting for the shareholder’s meeting to start. She says she’s going to finish off Vero. So much for Lucho’s big plan.

Gastón gets a call from someone saying that Chacón wants to speak with him.

LA PATRONA

Thanks much, Novelera, for your super quick recap. I was so glad to see that Rod the Bod isn’t "falling for the bruja", but rather playing her like the passionate professional he is. This cat and mouse game is going to be fun to watch.

So Antonia actually owns or has a share in the dollhouse. She is truly a diversified woman!

I think Lucho needs to be very careful of Irene. Her obsession with Ale and Vero's relationship is so crazy and volatile that she could end up shooting Lucho. I wouldn't give her a loaded gun and then hang around to discuss who to shoot.

I guess it was oh-so predictable that Max would believe no one can ever replace El Tigre and that Francisca should remain celibate the rest of her life. Typical TN obstacle on the Road to Love.

I loved that AniMal overheard the two kids sharing their very important secrets, and he just dismissed them as over imaginative fantasies.

I wonder if anyone will be shot tomorrow. Maybe Irene will join Max in Jail for disturbing the peace!

LA PATRONA:

Excellent recap, Novelera, thank you!

I'm 90% convinced, but there's still a 10% chance that Rod just TOLD Ricardo he was going to investigate Antonia, but actually HAS fallen for her. Probably not, though.

Antonia's ownership of the dollhouse probably isn't illegal, but it might not look so good to her "classy" lady friends at the Club.

We had lots of love last night, Vero and Ale, Francisca and Gaston. I really enjoyed both scenes. Of course, obstacles remain.

Constanza said she was so used to living in secret, she doesn't even know HOW to live a normal life. I wish she could come out, but maybe the threat from Anibal is still too much (and it would also expose Vero). BTW, we sometimes forget it's all Coni's money that pays for Vero to be this rich woman, not Vero's (she had those nuggets, but I think the money is all Coni's).

Bad Lucho. If his only friend (Gaston) betrayed him, and he's not going to get the girl, he really should just leave town. But he won't.

I liked how Gonzales wasn't sure about taking notes, since Lagarto never had them do that, just used his bloodhound (sabueso) skills. Yes, Gonzales never considered Lagarto could have inside info on that evidence. But Gonzo's learning.

Ricardo didn't tell Pati about Ines's possibly crossing a line.

The actress playing Irene is doing an excellent job in playing a hateful, selfish character. Ironically, in some ways we hate Irene more than Antonia. Maybe it's because there are real people like Irene, but Antonia is pure telenovela stuff.

PASION PROHIBIDA

"hmm, who wears black gloves at night in Florida,
maybe it's a serial killer, ha!"

Oh noes! Gonzaki escaped from Prison!

PASIóN PROHIBIDA

Perhaps they're gardening gloves... lol!

B&B a noche.... HOT daaawwg!!! quiero mucho mas, although what I really want is more than an illicit affair.... a happy ending.

Pasión Prohibida -

good luck with the happy ending shallowgal,

are you thinking of maybe a hippy commune thing where everyone shares,
(hmm, they might have to trade in Flavia's meds for some better ones),

or maybe some truth serum in the food where no one can tell a lie,
wouldn't that be scary.

Pasion Prohibida

A happy ending...ufff...we shall see...

The love scenes were ok, but I found them lacking something; the first one was always cut by scenes of things happening in the house and the second one was very short. I want more!
I love how B&B are becoming so familiar with one another - "mi amor" and the way they stood in bed, like a real couple does (not one of those extremely staged "after" scenes). But I have to repeat this again: they are both incredibly reckless! They don;t take care of their phones, that diary is way to visible, they are almost always together etc. It's almost like they want to get caught.

Did Bianca dodge a bullet when she told Ariel she didn't see Penelope after all or what??

Nina has gone from annoying kid to Bruno stalker and I find her even more grating now. Weren't her feelings supposed to be hidden, how about she keep them that way?
When Santi barged in her room, she said she was upset because of both Bruno and Yair. Could it be that she is only smitten with Bruno (like everyone watching this TN, after all) but she is in love with Yair?I mean, she's so used to crushing for Bruno, who is, after all, gorgeous, but why would she be so territorial with Yair, too? This is just me hoping they develop something more and she stays far away from Bruno!

And now about our mystery:

If Flavia had seen B&B I'm pretty sure she would have said something to Bianca. But then, why was she upset? And who was the mysterious car that came for her?

If it was Deniz, she would have maybe kept it a secret, but why would she wear those gloves? The scene at the end of the episode, when Bianca was talking to the servants about her earing and Deniz was at her place looking in the mirror was pretty creepy. Was she wearing the earings Ariel gave her? Is this just a red herring or a clue for us, the audience?

I still believe it was Yair, though, since right before B&B were caught he was in the garden with a hose, as far as I remember. He would use gloves for that, right?

LA PATRONA:

I still have an issue with Vero and Ale together while he's still married. It rings too much of Ale having his cake and eating it too. He needs to at least bring up and try to get a divorce from Irene. He hired Braulio to help Valentina; he can get a divorce lawyer. I know he said last night in his drunken stupor that he and Irene were over, but I still feel disgusted that someone like Vero has to be his amante, especially since it reeks of what Antonia did when Ale was a child. He mentioned that she had numerous lovers when he was younger and like her, he's repeating that history.

Anywho, evil Lucho. I was more shocked that he told Irene to use the gun more than anything. I never realized he was that upset about losing Vero, or maybe it was the liquor talking. But for him to say Ale doesn't care that Lucia was sick was cold as ice.

I never really trusted Lucho since he robbed those old ladies of food and money in the church, but his descent to the dark-side after he was so good to Lucia, and pretty much saw that Irene was awful, and said he understood why Ale was after Vero, broke my heart. But, it proves my theory why I never like him--he never valued the friendship aspect of tigres. He was only there to get in Vero's pants and since he won't get in them, he's upset.

Coni and Gaston are there for Vero more so for themselves-Coni has never pulled rank about her money financing the venganza even when Vero was wrong to keep her away from Ricardo; and Gaston called GabyVero 'patrona', showing his steadfast loyalty to her as the rightful owner of Chamuco and his best friend Tigre's daughter when she was dirt poor. Lucho was only there to get in Vero's pants, not for anything else. Plus, he went to the manicomio to scam Vero in the first place, so he was always there for himself. He did all he did to be rewarded, and after what they experienced in the manicomio, not doing the venganza or being there for Vero just as a friend is just despicable to me. He was doing the right things--helping Vero--for the wrong reasons. And in this case, motivation matters as much as deeds.

Antonia owning the lapaunal--thanks La Patrona for letting me learn 50-11 words for whore and whorehouse. I'm not surprised and it reminded me of something Tigre said to Antonia when he was being tortured: A whore, even rich, is still a whore. Tigre was close with both Srs. Beltran and Vidal and he probably knew that Antonia was a whore and probably knows what shady things she did to get both of these guys and their money. When Tigre said that she was still a whore even though she had money, that set her off and why she asked Macario to kill him. Julia calling Antonia a whore also precipitated Antonia killing her. I suspect we're going to learn a great deal about Antonia's past by the end of this novela.

Balmaceda is playing Antonia like a fiddle in the hands of Charlie Daniels. I don't think he's falling for her at all, but he's gonna pretend to fall for her.

La Patrona:

JdesdeNYC- ITA about Lucho’s motives for joining Los Tigres. I was shocked that he was egging Irene on to shoot Alejandro. First of all, it was just evil to want to leave a child without her loving father. And second, it was dumb to think Irene wouldn’t shoot Vero. Hello! She hates Vero and sees her as the obstacle in the way of her obsession (Alejandro).

I was so ready for both Irene and Lucho to be gone/bumped off after the last few episodes. However, last night’s episode showed a new option for them, that I’d be perfectly happy with--- the two of them falling in love with each other. Lucia is already totally taken with her House Elf. Even better if he turns into her stepdad.

LA PATRONA

They're still keeping us in the dark about Balmaceda's motivations regarding Antonia. Everything that's shown can be taken 2 ways. Last night after he doused himself with cologne he appeared to be warring with some thought or impulse and then told himself, "Come on, you have willpower." (tienes fuerza de voluntad.) Was he trying to fight off a genuine and passionate urge to enter her bedroom, or rather trying to steel himself up to doing so, as part of a sort of undercover operation? I'm still not sure.

Karamy

La Patrona:

Keramy- I think the writers are doing that on purpose. I still can’t get a read on whether Rod is really attracted to Antonia. I know he believes she’s an attractive woman. But at the end f the day, even if he’s attracted to her, does the deed with her, or even develops some tender feelings for her, I still think he would continue to look for evidence against her and put her in jail when he finds it. They did say he put his best friend in jail when he found out he was corrupt. He’s just that kind of guy. It may hurt him to do it, but he’s still putting you behind bars if you’re guilty.

I did not like the things they showed Max saying to Fran in the previews. I hope she slaps him.

LA PATRONA

Vivi: Yes, they definitely seem to be building up to a Lucho/Irene pairing. I can't say I'm happy about it. Lucho has a dark side, but I don't find him monstrous enough to wish either death or a life with Irene on him. Irene, on the other hand, doesn't deserve even him. She merits either death or a lifetime (or at least a long stretch) of some genuine suffering: suffering much worse than that she manufactures for herself with her unrequited obsession for Alejandro. I for one can't forget that she knows the truth about the mine explosion and played a part in framing Gabriela for it. She's a lot more culpable than Prudencia was.

Karamy

LA PATRONA:

Lagarto gets us all excited by agreeing to tell "all" if his security is guaranteed. But Anibal finds out, uses his helicopter, and pays Lagarto a visit, where he wants "all the best" for Lagarto, but is obviously secretly threatening him. By the time Ricardo and the court stenographer arrive, Lagarto admits to killing Inocencia, but it was an accident. And as for everything else, he's not talkin'! This includes whether he planted the baseball bat and bloody tarp at Max's house.

Meanwhile, Estrella has left town. So with her gone, and Lagarto's suspicious silence, apparently there's not enough evidence to hold Max in jail any longer, and he's released. He then catches Francisca and Gaston in bed. Whoops!

As Karamy pointed out, Rodrigo is now ensconced at Antonia's house, and she makes sure he knows her bedroom is right down the hall. She puts on a white satin gown (like a virgin?) and waits. He struggles with either a desire to be with her, or a desire to trick her, and heads for her room, only to be intercepted by Alejandro. Whoops!

Veronica, now that she and Alejandro have admitted they're in love, forbids him from even entering her house anymore. For the good of his marriage and his child. Drat!

Lucho advises Irene on what dress to wear, and how to act when Alejandro comes over to see Lucia. She follows his advice, and when Alejandro comes in, she's super nice and respectful for a change. Ale says to Lucia, did your Mom get some advice? Sure, says the kid, from a duende (imp or goblin). Ale plays along, thinking aren't those kids cute with their imaginations?

Lucho and Irene watch from the stairs, and as Vivi says, there's an attraction there!

One other funny moment was when Rodrigo said to Ricardo, Gonzales is the stupidest cop I've ever met. I think Rod needs to watch a few more novelas, we've seen plenty of dumb cops!

Vivi DC: But at the end f the day, even if he’s attracted to her, does the deed with her, or even develops some tender feelings for her, I still think he would continue to look for evidence against her and put her in jail when he finds it. They did say he put his best friend in jail when he found out he was corrupt. He’s just that kind of guy. It may hurt him to do it, but he’s still putting you behind bars if you’re guilty.

Basically! Antonia said when they were in the bullfighting ring stables that she doesn't understand why she saved Balmaceda's life because she knows he would put her in prison in a heartbeat.

Antonia seems to fall for, or at least marry in the case of her two husbands, men who are honest, kind, and unshady, even as she is dishonest, unkind and shady. It's very odd that she does that, even to scam them, because she can fake the funk with them for years pretending she loves them since these men don't seem to realize until their dying breaths that she's a psychopath. She's smart about her marks, unlike Irene, who married a guy she was totally incompatible with and didn't even try to pretend to be compatible with.

I don't think Balmaceda is in love with Antonia. If he shares anything about his Antonia or his life, that's the key to knowing that he isn't faking.

La Patrona:

Thanks so much for the recap Hombre. I thought that was funny too what Rod said about Gonzalez’s stupidity. So true! And he immediately proved it by telling Antonia that Rod was meeting with the bank president to find out where Estrella got her money. Doh! Then of course when Antonia asks Rod why the bank manager was there, he lies and says he’s opening an account, and that it’s basically none of her business.

I didn’t think Gaston was very smart either to let Anibal into Lagarto’s room. Why? He didn’t have to let him in. Lagarto was ready to sing like a canary, and that little visit shut him up really quick. At least Max is free on lack of evidence. Now I almost wish he had remained locked up with him disrespecting his mama for having a life of her own and finding a little happiness.

LA PATRONA

So Irene went to the board meeting packing heat. Very anticlimactic. All we got out of it was Gaby/Vero making a deal with the devil and promising to stay away from Ale if Irene allows him to see Lucia.

Darn! It looks like the writers aren't going to kill off Irene. I've been so looking forward to her demise. As you pointed out, Karamy, Irene "knows the truth about the mine explosion and played a part in framing Gabriela for it", and then she took Patty's wedding dress to the manicomio to taunt and hurt Gaby. The woman deserves much worse than sleeping with the elf!

I saw Rod's hesitation to sleep with Antonia as an internal conflict of ethics vs pragmatism - not any emotional involvement. Too bad Ale showed up just as Rod was headed to Antonia's room. I'd like to see Rod and Antonia seduce each other.

Lagarto's a dead man whether or not he trusts the senator. Either Macario will get him or he'll be killed in prison by one of the lobo's hired killers.

We knew that Max was going to find out about Francisca and Gaston - but not in his own bed. That was a Whoops!

La Tuerta is still crazy in the carcel. Didn't one of the ladies say that she'll be shipped back to the Mexican manicomio? Perfecto! Better than Gaby could have arranged.

La Patrona -

I'm in a mid-novela slump on this one,

so it looks like Gertrudis is going to end up in a maniconio,

I was thinking they should just walk away from Lagarto, pull all of the guards, that might get his attention, or at least the number 5 slot, on the dead Lobos list,
(did Macario say before that he doesn't kill policemen)

Veronica already has Gertrudis' proof, as well as the recorded confession of Ramon who was brutally murdered, and of Prudencia's being drugged before she died,
(interesting how Ricardo instantly saw what is going on with Constanza and Gabriela, but they are all afraid to let Alejandro in on it)

Alejandro, Alejandro, Alejandro, is there even a little bit of hope for this guy,
this is how I picture him,
Ricardo says, "where is the proof",
and Alejandro shrugs his shoulders, and walks away,

I was really really disappointed earlier when he refused to even consider what Poncia was telling him about his mother killing his dad,

and I know that Gabriela will never love another man, but I really dislike how Alejandro uses this to break her down and jump in the sack with her, and then wanders off, back to the miserable life he chose, you'd think he had spent 4 years being abused in a manicomio the way he suffers sometimes,

and what does he do in the meantime, he has been making the Lobos rich, (didn't he take that job to verify Gabriela's claim to that mine)

but I really perked up when he came skipping back for more, and Veronica closed the door to him,
(like she once did with David)
hmm,
I like it when Veronica takes charge,
and she really needs to get on with her revenge, with no distractions, it's way past time for the Lobos to be exposed, and Alejandro certainly isn't going to do it,

(so where do you get a tv like Veronica's, where you can watch all from the comfort of your salon).

La Patrona:

Beth- I’m beyond annoyed at this deal Gab/Vero made with Irene to not see Alejandro, and that Vero is pushing Alejandro back to Irene. What makes Vero think their relationship is going to work now after all these years of matrimonial hell? What needs to happen is that Alejandro needs to actually DO SOMETHING about getting a divorce and getting custody (even part-time) of his daughter. He has not done one single thing to make either of these things happen. He doesn’t even have to press charges against Irene for pulling a gun on him. All he has to do is bring it up in family court (with the many witnesses he has) and he’d have full custody, just like that. Why can’t he use his brain about this? Lucia’s well-being and happiness is at stake.

Pasión Prohibida -

ah ha,
so it is Yair with the black gloves,
(of course by tonight everyone could be wearing black gloves)

LA PATRONA

Busy day for comments! Thanks so much, Hombre, for your recap.

Estrella really surprised me by leaving town. I thought they were going to drag that out some more after Antonia threatened her. The bruja is losing some of her mojo.

I was sure Rod was only going to get close to Guerra to find things out. Now I'm not so sure. Last night's perfume spraying and almost going to her room looked more like sexual attraction to me.

Vivi, I agree completely with your annoyance about Vero pushing Ale back to Irrational Irene. But, we have to always keep in mind that telenovela writers stay up nights thinking of ways to keep the protagonists apart until the last week, frustrating as that may be to Viewerville. Vero could just as easily have threatened Irene with being put in jail if she didn't let Ale see Lucía and left it at that. Irene would have folded like a house of cards. Our princess of SPDO wouldn't withstand one night in the city jail, much less four years in a dungeon.

And, yes, the appropriate move is for Ale to file for divorce based on erratic behavior and waving a gun around at a shareholders' meeting. She even fired it once, apparently at the floor, off camera.

Why would Vero, who loves Ale, condemn him to living with that shrew? Gah!

I'm not quite as hard on Lucho as some of you. Yep, he's awful now. But his relationship with Gabriela in the nuthouse didn't appear to me to be based on trying to have sex with her. She was practically a zombie when he met her. We can say that he wanted to be close to her because he knew about El Chamuco, but he still was a good friend, helping her heal. At least the way I interpreted what happened, the love he feels for her happened later, in NYC after she'd cleaned up a bit and become sophisticated.

But they're going right along with the telenovela cliché that the "other man" will stoop to anything in his hopeless quest to get the girl.

LA PATRONA

Deb - Macario did say at one point that he doesn't kill cops, but one of the two A's convinced him that Lagarto's testimony will ruin Macario's comfortable life style. So Lagarto and Lucas went off to make sure Lagarto doesn't leave the hospital alive.

I think that even if Gaby/Vero or Ricardo told Ale in words of one syllable what the lobos have done and what the venganza plan is about, he'd scratch his head and say "Que?" I won't say he's completely hopeless, but I think he's been so indoctrinated by his mother over the years that he can't pursue the truth about her. ? Stockholm Syndrome.

Vivi - to me the Vero/Irene deal is overly contrived. I think the writers are playing with us and threw in some filler for God knows what reason (maybe Irene's redemption?). Irene taking cues from Lucho and dressing up and playing nice to get Ale back just doesn't fit her personality. And you're absolutely right - Gaby/Vero knows better than anybody what an evil b!tch Irene is. The good guys always seem to cave when the bad guys use sick children to get their way.

LA PATRONA: JUEVES PART I
I'd call this one Dormido Interrumpido because everyone is trying to sleep and keep on getting interrupted.

Alejandro busts Balmaceda at Guerra's door wondering what the heck he's doing there. Rod the Bod (thanks Beth!) says "Oh, I just came out of the hospital and I was just getting some water and I got lost." Sure! Everyone in the home runs out wondering what the heck is going on. Ale tells everyone to go to bed.

Maximiliano gets out of prison and runs home and busts his mama Francisca and Gaston in bed. Um, awkward! He acts a complete fool basically saying his mother is a traitor for running around with another guy since Tigre was the only man she should be with. He also seems to hint that "No wonder Dad had to take you out the whore house, you're a loose woman." And Max is all "you lied to me; I told you in jail that I wouldn't accept it if you fell in love with someone else." I never knew Max was such a machista/egoista. He leaves after slapping the taste out Gaston's mouth since he can't accept his mother's "betrayal."

Back at Casa Beltran/Vidal, Balmaceda tells Antonia to beat it. He isn't sleeping with her since he didn't come to town for that. Guerra threatens him that he'll regret it.

Francisco and Gaston go to GabyVero's and tells them the whole sordid "Max is mad because I'm in love with Gaston and he caught us in bed" tale and Fran is doing her best llorona act since she's shocked her son hates her.

Max suddenly shows up at in Casa Beltran/Vidal scaring Valentina who screams, waking up the house. Vale lets everyone know it was just a nightmare. Back in her room Vale and Max kiss and chat about how he's out the slammer. She asks if he's told her mother-in-law (Francisca) and Max tells her about him finding Gaston and Francisca in bed. Valentina rails on Max for being a machista and egoista for being mad his mother has sex, when they do the same thing. "You can have sex, but your mom should be a nun." Max tires to pull rank and says Vale doesn't understand since she doesn't have a mother. Max says "Of course I want my mother to be happy but not that way. We're supposed to get married and have kids and the grandkids will be her happiness." And Val goes off! She notes that if her mom were around she would want her happy. The best part is that she tells him to get out of her room and he better find someone else to marry, because if Max's willing to treat his mama like that, imagine how he'll treat her when she's his wife. Go Vale!

Anibal, Macario and Lucas are in a bar and Anibal is mourning his loss of status and power. Macario tells him he should watch out for his son Ricardo since he’s getting a little big for his britches. Anibal goes home and gets mad at Ricardo for letting Max out of jail. He also disrespects Patti, who tells Anibal to lower his voice since Ricardito is trying to sleep. Anibal says he can scream as loud as he wants in his house, which sets Ricardo at Anibal’s throat Incredible Hulk style and Patti has to run interference to stop it. Anibal goes “Why do you hate me so much?” Ricardo of course mentions Constanza. (I told y’all—Ricardo is gonna put that lethal injection personally in Anibal’s wrist when this mess is over. He is so over his father.)

Back at Vero’s, Vero offers Francisca her support and says she deserves to be happy. Coni says Max is gonna have to get over it, because life ain’t fair and he has to accept that everything won’t go his way. Vero says she’s gonna talk to that “malcriado” and “falto de respeto” Max because he’s acting just like David did when she was planning to marry Alejandro.

LA PATRONA JUEVESPART II
Kicked out of Vale’s room, Max is in the hall way sneaking out—why did he go in the hallway to leave when he came in through the door that’s by Vale’s room?—and he gets busted by Macario and Lucas coming in from the bar. Macario pulls his gun on Max asking him what he’s doing there and Lucas punches and kicks him for good measure. (The way he acted toward Francisca merits this beatdown—I approve!) Off course, this again wakes up the whole house who converge in the hallway wondering what the heck is going on?

Balmaceda lets everyone know that he told Ricardo to let Max go since large sums of money were in Estrella’s account and Estrella ran off and Largarto had planted evidence so there’s no proof that Max killed Espino. Guerra looks mad as heck and tells Balmaceda to arrest Max for robbing her house. Ale says, “You know that’s not true, he’s here to see Valentina.” Ale promptly tells Max to go home and come back tomorrow in the light of day. Vale says she wants nothing to do with Max since he’s a patan and David is shocked. Vale was not there for Max disrespecting Francisca at all. Rod asks why Guerra hates Max so much and she says it’s because he’s a Suarez and Gabriela Suarez killed her son Fernando. Ale tells Balmaceda “Dude, sorry about this interrupted sleep, but like I told you before—welcome to hell!” Poncia comes in after Ale leaves and tells Rod to not believe Antonia’s stories—she can’t say much, she says, but tells Rod not to leave town till he discovers all the lies in this house and town.

At la casa Montemar, Lucho is playing his best Mr. Mom in an apron as he’s making what looks like pancakes or fritters. Irene comes in saying Lucia has a fever and Lucho runs to the rescue. It’s just a regular fever, he says, nothing serious, but act like a real Mom Irene and go get some medicine for Lucia. Irene admits she doesn’t know what to get since Alejandro handled Lucia when she was sick. Irene leaves and Lucia opens up her eyes to see her duende and says playfully he acts more like a scolding Dad than a duende. He performs a magic trick giving Lucia a flower from her hat. Lucia loves it and exclaims that how great it is she has a Dad and her duende to take care of her. Lucho says, “Yes, always!” and looks like he totally enjoys taking care of Lucia. Yeppers, folks, it’s Irene and Lucho ALL. THE. WAY!!! That’s the only way Lucia is gonna stay alive if Ale isn’t there to take care of her.

David shows up at casa Suarez to ask Max what the heck is going on with him and Valentina and he tells him about the whole sordid story about Francisca and Gaston. David says, “What’s the problem? Your Mom has a right to be happy. She’s young and ‘guapisma’ so why not?” David goes to use the bathroom and Vero comes in and goes in on Max. “How dare you disrespect your mother? She has a right to be happy. She’s still young and she’s spent all these years taking care of you.” “Alright, sis, but lower your voice” says Max. Vero has none of it and tells Max “This is my house, just to remind you, and you will obey me. You are going to find your mother and apologize to her. Tigre would be ashamed of you the way you’ve treated her.” David comes in at the tail end of this and is wondering why Vero would be interested in this Vero says “Oh, we talk about your granddad all the time and I am a family friend.” Max agrees.

LA PATRONA JUEVES PART III

Balmaceda leaves Casa Beltran/Vidal, but not before Guerra says he must be scared to do the deed with her since he’s a bad lover. Say whatever you want, says Balmaceda, but I’m not bossed around by women, especially ones I mistrust like you. Guerra says I’ve never thrown myself at a man this way before and this is your only opportunity to be my lover. Won’t happen says Balmy. We’ll see, says Guerra. Ah, Guerra, Eau de Desperation is so unlike you. Don’t do it again.

Ale encounters Irene at the casa de Montemar coming back from the pharmacy and reams in one her for leaving Lucia alone in the house while she got medicine. She should have called him to get her meds. How can you be such an irresponsible mother?? You are such a self-centered person. Lucia stops the fight by saying “Don’t fight Dad. Mom didn’t leave me alone, she left me with the duende and he gave me flower.” Ale calls the pediatrician who says it’s just a regular fever nothing serious-just like the duende said, Lucia chimes in! Irene and Lucho are hiding nearby and Irene is freaking out about how this duende thing is going. “I’m not the best mother in the world, but I wouldn’t leave my daughter by herself!” Lucho tells her to calm down. Lucia is fine and Ale tells Irene to please call me if Lucia needs anything. Don’t leave Lucia alone. I don’t want you guys to go without and I’m here for you guys. He leaves and then Lucho comes in and Irene is glad because it seems his advice is working well. They hug and Lucho looks all in love—Irene is only halfway there, but she’s coming along.

The Border Patrol calls Balmaceda and says they have Gertrudis; Balmaceda tells Ricardo to tell the BP they’ll take her and Ricardo does so in great English. Ricardo warns Coni and Vero that Gert is coming back and Vero says something to the effect of “whatever God wants he’ll do” and it’s time for the truth to come out anyway." Seems Vero is bracing for her identity to be exposed. Balmaceda already has a whiteboard of all the mysterious death in SPDO on a white board and I'm sure Gert will fill in all the blanks.

Ricardo is in therapy and wondering why it’s taking so long for he and Patricia to do the deed. The therapist says he’s expecting things to go too fast, but tells him to close his eyes and kisses him. Um, so many professional ethics codes broken, so little time. But Ricardo reciprocates.

La Patrona -

how nice,
thanks J desde NYC,

it was cracking me up how everyone gets up,
and then goes back to bed,

didn't Balmy back out of the late night thingy, because of Antonia's family all being there,

Balmy definition,
1) (of the weather) Pleasantly warm.
2) Extremely foolish; eccentric: "he's gone balmy".

I was totally touched by Gabriela talking Max down,
and in walks David,
wow,
and they both washed over her early days with Alejandro,

Irene, I guess I'm different here, she has always been a pawn in the game,
social standings and all,
and now she is on her own, out of that house,
(more than Alejandro has done)
no servants,
and a sick daughter,
is she desperately playing the only game in town,

and Lucho, never trusted him,
he has made a living off of other people,
I don't think he ever knew love, till he met Gabriela,
so where does he go from here,

so will Patricia find out what it is like to share Ricardo?

La Patrona:

Great recap JdesdeNYC! Gracias.

Yes, things between Irene and Lucho are percolating. I think he's genuinely falling for Lucia, and almost against his will falling for Irene. I'm sure the two of them will be very confused about this growing attraction.

I was very glad that Val put her foot down with Max. And so did everyone else. But didn't Fran at the end agree to give up Gaston so that Max wouldn't leave. Grrr... Max better give in and say she can be with whomever she wants if it makes her happy. But it looks like he was "forgiving" her and staying because she said she would give up Gaston and that he (Max) was her life.

Rod the Bod doesn't seem to know what to do with this Antonia issue. In the end I think it's best that he doesn't play any games with her. It would get too messy and would make the situation more volatile. It was a wise move to leave.

LA PATRONA

J desde NYC - thanks so much for the excellent recap! So nice to be able to read it when I got up this a.m.

For being 17 going on 18, Val sounded very mature last night. She already understands - and very effectively told Max - that if he's "willing to treat his mama like that, imagine how he'll treat her when she's his wife". I lol'd when she threw him out.

Deb - Rod the Balmy Bod did back out of the late night tryst with Antonia because Ale and then the whole family showed up. Who knows what would have happened if Ale hadn't arrived when he did.

I wonder if Rod will pull Poncia in for questioning. He now knows that she has info on at least some of Antonia's activities.

And, if La Tuerta is given some anti-psychotic meds when she gets back from the U.S., Rod and Ricardo should have a field day questioning her about the documents and cancelled checks Ric has.

The writers continue to rehabilitate that witch Irene. That's probably best for Lucia and Paty, but I still can't stand her.

Two little bombshells at the end of the episode:

Antonia has lost $2 million of Val's money in the stock market, and

the shrink put the moves on Ricardo, and he very passionately responded (how far did they go?)

Antonia knows she'll be audited when/if Val turns 18, so she's going to be looking for fast cash - or her bottle of poison.

And, you're right, Deb, Paty will find out how it feels to have a spouse find another sex partner.

Beth

LA PATRONA:

Beth- Thanks for the reminder about the $2 million. Yep. Either Val has to die, or Antonia needs to find $2 mill from somewhere else to cover up her fraud.

I was initially upset at Ric for kissing the therapist back, but then I remembered Pati's affairs. It might do him good to be able to try out his newly awakened libido on someone else to make sure everything works, and then surprise Pati with it. It's not like she can be mad at him for sleeping with someone else (she did)... someone who is her friend (she also did this).

LA PATRONA:

I'm not too pleased about the Irene rehabilitation tour either since she's yet to admit that she was wrong to marry Ale the way she did; plus, after Gaby was in the maniocomio, she asked Guerra if Gaby was guilty and Guerra told her no. How do you live with yourself knowing that the man you claim to love loves someone else?; and the one he loves was innocent of the crime she was sent to an insane asylum for? Irene has her parents' worse traits--self-centeredness, classism, and self-righteousness. I will never forget her basically telling Gaby in the manicomio that she wasn't worthy of Ale because she was poor; and how she stood there and let Dr. Gertrudis "marry" Gaby to Psycho Casanova knowing PC was a psychopath and in all likelihood rape Gaby.

She blames Gabriela for her unhappiness, when she was the one who married a man who told her from the start she wasn't wife material to him and she needs to find something else. Ale will tell everyone and own it that he was a complete jerk to Gaby. Irene is still self-righteous about what she's done. I at least need Irene to admit to Alejandro that she went to the manicomio to taunt Gaby, and that's probably why they haven't killed her off. Prudencia and Julio were a lot more self-reflective about the dirt they did while Irene is still willfully blind. I guess the writers intend for her to finally tell Gaby when this is over that she's sorry.

LA PATRONA:

Great recap, J desde NYC, thanks!

I loved the scene where Anibal says to Macario and Lucas, I can't believe I'm sitting here with you two lowlives. I used to sit with important people. I'm a Senator of the Republic! M&L are too cool to be insulted, they ask he Ani wants a babe. A babe? I've had lots of women, what I want now is respect! Yeah, like that' gonna happen.

I'm signing up for Ines's therapy.

Antonia told Rod that she never had to seduce people before. I guess that's true, with Alberto she basically ordered him to provide services. I sort of hope Rod continues to be conflicted about her, and Antonia keeps trying for him, because it's just so...wrong! That's what makes it fun.

Both Max and Val are immature. Remember how when she thought she saw him kissing Antonia, she broke up with him, and it took weeks before she believed him? Now she's breaking up with him because he's mad at his mother. Of course Max is wrong, every single member of the cast told him that, but couldn't Val possibly be just a teeny bit understanding?

Wonder how Antonia will get out of her little $2 million problem.

PASION PROHIBIDA pt1

Bianca flashes back to the conversation she had with Flavia regarding the eearing. Bruno shows up and says Deniz didn’t do anything with her earrings. Bianca thinks it was Flavia. Bianca thinks a third person may be involved. And shes right! Yair is spying on the conversation the two are having.
While B&B are discussing the possible suspects Yair walks by them.

Yair walks in the workshop and has a flashback. He caught B&B making love but broke a vase and fled. Then he remember Biancas love speech (Ariel thought she was talking about him!). Yair looks at some pictures in the workshop. One with Ariel and Bruno. Another one with Bruno Nina and Santi. And the wedding picture with B&B.

Bruno decided to stay in the house. The duo needs to find the culprit quick. Deniz walks by them. Bruno tells a worried Bianca that Deniz knows nothing, but Bianca cant stand Denizs cold stares.

Bianca heads to Flavias room. Katia is fixing Flavs bed. Bianca asks for Flav and Katia says Flav is upstairs. Bianca accuses Katia of messing with her earrings. Katia denies this. But Bianca says “One more screwup and your gone. And tell my mom about this conversation so she can learn to stay out of my life!”

Bianca heads upstairs. Flav, reading a newspaper, calls for her. Bianca snatches the paper and demands to know why she is keeping quiet about what she saw. Flav claims she doesn’t know what she is talking about. Bianca says she wont let Flavs silence control her.

Bruno is in Ninas room. He is telling her that she did a good job not talking to Eli during the restauraunt incident. Nina tells him to tell Eli about the other woman. Bruno says there is no other woman, but Nina reveals that Tere saw him trying to hide a purse at his buddies house.

Kat tells Cele and Cami about Biancas scolding. Mother and daughter get sarcastic until Tere shows up crying. It turns out Bianca told her off too. Cele thinks Bianca is having a bad day. But Kat says that’s no reason for Bianca to mistreat the servants.

Bruno remembers when he asked Deniz if she found the earring. He heads to Biancas room. He is sure Deniz is innocent and Flav caught them. But Bianca now suspects Yair. He gave the two a weird look. Bruno thinks that doesn’t mean anything. Yair never goes upstairs. He works outside. Plus he hates Bruno. If anything he wouldn’t hesitate to tell Ariel. Bianca thinks her mother was innocent. But Bruno tells her that Flav is a master manipulator. Before he leaves the room he shares a kiss with Bianca.

Yair walks in the kitchen. We are treated to a flashback of him spying on Bianca when she was searching for the earring in the workshop. He snaps out of it when Tere shows up asking him to do the laundry. And be careful Bianca told her off and Katia too. Yair asks Tere what happened. Tere says Bianca just doesn’t like them. He should hurry up or else he will get it too. “Let Bianca try” Yair says. Tere is shocked but leaves.

We get another flashback. Yair and Salo have gotten the groceries. Yair asks if anyone is around. Salo says just the two of them. Yair sneaks upstairs and sets the earring in Biancas shelf.

PASION PROHIBIDA pt2

Flav is walking down the hallway when she runs into Bruno. Bruno was going to stay home all day but decided to go see Ariel. Flav tells him it’s a shame he ended things with Eli. But he probably already found a replacement. Bruno asks if she knows this or imagines it. Since the two are alone Flav should speak her mind. Flav tells Bruno he should start chasing Nina. Flav thinks the two would look like a cut couple.

Tere is folding clothes in the basket when Yair joins her. Yair throws Biancas blue dress on the floor. Tere picks it up and sees a grass stain. Yair says no matter how hard they try the stain will never be clean.

Nina and Deniz are going through old family pictures, when Deniz asks Nina if Bruno mentioned Biancas earrings. Nina asks why and Deniz says Bruno seemed too concerned. Nina says that is because Bianca made a fuss about them. Deniz asks if Nina wants her to call Eli to say Nina and Bruno have nothing. Nina says Bruno needs to do it himself and admit there is another woman. “Are you sure?” asks Deniz. Nina is positive.

Kat tells Flav about Biancas scolding. Flav thinks Bianca will get over it, but Kat tells her that Bianca wanted her to tell Flav. She thinks that’s weird and Kat thinks that Flav is acting weird as well. Flav tells Kat to mind her own business.

Bruno visits Nico in his office. Bruno hopes that Nicos relationship with his father didn’t go bad since he intervened. Bruno wants to go eat with Nico but he says he is busy. He tells Bruno that he cant just show up to the company whenever he wants. At this point the two are called into Ariels office. Francisca is already in the office with Ariel. Ariel and Francis tells Bruno that that Nico is now the new shareholder of Piamonte enterprises.

Bruno congratulates Nico (he doesn’t seem too happy). Yair calls Ariel. He wants to have a personal talk with him tonight. When Bruno asks Ariel what Yair wanted, Ariel thinks Yair was talking about getting a job at a cruise line though he never mentioned it. Yair has been acting strange lately. Bruno leaves the office.

Pen visits Bianca and Bianca informs her about Flavs weird behavior. Biancas phone rings. Pen tells her to answer but Bianca refuses saying its Sylvia. Pen thinks that Flav may be visiting Ivan. Bruno is trying to call Bianca when Francis asks him to take her to Ariels home. When Bianca calls Bruno, Bruno tells Francis that its Eli and he knows what Eli will say. Francis asks Bruno why he is hanging out with her lately. Bruno thinks she is fun to hang out with. Francis tells Bruno to be careful. Nina might misinterpret things. Bruno says Nina is the last person he would ever hurt.

Yair is in the kitchen when the other servants arrive asking discussing Camilas departure. Bianca interrupts them and asks for Yair. Yair says he was cleaning. Just when things get tense she lets him go and asks (rather sweetly) that the servants make ossobucco for her sister and husband. The servants are shocked at this behavior.

PASION PROHIBIDA pt3

Pen calls Nico for dinner at Ariels. He refuses because he doesn’t want to see Bruno. Pen tell Bianca about this.

Nico calls Willy to eat together. When Nico informs Willy that he is the shareholder of Piamonte Enterprises. Willy actually congratulates Nico and offers to pay the restaurant bill.

Flav is with Ivan in a doctors office. He tells Flav, her daughters need her. Flav says Ivan is enough company. A doctor shows up saying the results came back. Could Flav have cancer?

Nina enters Yairs room. Evreyone is leaving. Cami is heading for Orlando. Tere will get married. Deniz doesn’t live with the clan anymore. And Yair has been ignoring Nina lately. Yair says he made a mistake and apologizes. He was blind but now he sees things clearly.

Bruno and Francis greet pen. Bruno excuses himself as Francis and Pen. He finds Bianca and tells he he thinks she was right about Yair. Yair called Ariel and plans to tell him everything tonight…..

LA PATRONA

Thanks so much for the excellent recap, J desde NYC!!

That was some revelation about Guerra jugando en la Bolsa, playing the stock market, with Valentina's money. I surely hope we won't have more poisoning. I know Val is going to survive, but I hate her having to go through it.

Max has heard it from Valentina, Vero, AND David that he can't expect his mother's only joy in life to be him and potential grandchildren. What an ass!

I'm very disappointed in Inez. I thought those slightly sneaky looks she was giving Ricardo might have been false signals to cause us to jump to conclusions. But it surely looks like she's actually interested in him as a man. I know sex therapy often involves surrogates, but I thought the surrogate was a different person than the shrink.

The little domestic scenes between Lucho and Irene are fun to watch. Our slightly rehabilitated thief and con man seems to be the ideal step-father for Lucía.

By the way, what Irene went out for was a thermometer. Lucho wanted to take her temperature and our "mother of the year" said Alejandro took care of those "details" when they lived together. She doubted there was such a thing in her father's house.

Antonia continues to say with absolute conviction that Gabriela Suárez killed her son Fernando. I'm pretty sure Gabriela told her one of the times she came to gloat in the nuthouse that she herself had killed her son by arranging the mine explosion.

Pasión Prohibida -

thanks so much NovelaMan!
great recap,

Ossobuco (Italian for "bone with a hole" a reference to the marrow hole at the center of the cross-cut veal shank), is a Milanese specialty of cross-cut veal shanks braised with vegetables, white wine and broth. (ref: wiki)

it's interesting that Nina knows Bruno so well that she is certain there is another woman,

wasn't it earlier when Nina brought up the purse at Capi's place, and Bianca suggested it might just be an amiga, she said that Bruno sleeps with all of his amigas, ha!

actually Bianca had the earrings in the shop when someone saw them and fled, and then lost it later outside later, so the two incidents aren't necessarily related, but they didn't leave any doubt with Yair's flashbacks,

and so, the tension continues to build in everyone's lives as Bruno/Bianca try to hide their pet elephant,

LA PATRONA

Novelera - Lucho is very endearing as the house elf and surrogate step-father. He's definitely more nurturing and understanding of a child's needs. And Lucia has picked up on his genuine affection for her.

I think Antonia truly believes in her twisted logic that Gabriela killed Fer: if Gabriela hadn't been such a slut, enticing Fer and leading him on, Fer wouldn't have followed her into the mine and been blown to pieces. And Antonia will have to continue to believe this because she'll never accept that she's responsible for her son's death.

PASION PROHIBIDA -

Deb - "Bruno/Bianca try to hide their pet elephant". Hilarious!!

Pasion Prohibida
NovelaMan, thanks for the recap!
So AdrianaNoel was right, the Gloved One is Yair. Great, something else for him to be tormented about. Somehow I don't think the "truth" is coming out anytime soon.
The whole earring thing made no sense to me, because earring finder didn't have to be the same as the observer/plant crasher.
But there seems to be some earring theme going.
B&B reckless? Couldn't believe they had that little strategy session followed by kiss -- in her [and Ariel's] bedroom. Right deb, that elephant will not be contained.
