Amores Verdaderos #178 Mon 7/22/13 Lilly orchid makes a miraculous recovery from major abdominal traumatic injury while her little 'brother/cousin' is still in the womb... We are happily toasting at Roy table... Anyball a diamond launderer?? Who knew!!
Lilly orchid talks to Vic, he is teary-eyed as she is thanking him for saving her life in front of JA, (i think she said something about having JA there for her before that but this is where DVDR started for me.
Out in waiting room, Frankie, Roy and Nikki are also glad Lilly Orchid made it through. Miraculous recovery... Nikki says Vic is 'El TOP!!' She tells them Vic was Adri's first love, and if it was not for Anyballs interfering, they would be happily married now.

He wants to dedicate his time to the baby, just like he did with Lilly. Teach him Aikido, teach him farming... She will also dedicate her time to the baby. Unfortunately when Nikki was born, she was concentrated in work and trying to show her father she could succeed in the competitive business of marketing. Does not want to make the same mistake again. JA says no worries, the bodyguard business is doing well. Besides, he has enough money to raise their son. So if she wants to stay off work for a while, he can manage it. But she is not a housewife type. She says he is right, they need to rethink their lives. He finished his Agric Engr career and he misses the life in the fields. He admits it is right. Its been a pleasure, not sure if i can participate in recapping the finale, but this one i enjoyed. Not one of my favs, but definitely had some attractiveness in plot lines appropriate for folks over 40 instead of having actors over 40 playing characters in their 20s. Go Roy!! Go Nikki! Go Dances!! you won me over!

Its been a pleasure, not sure if i can participate in recapping the finale, but this one i enjoyed. Not one of my favs, but definitely had some attractiveness in plot lines appropriate for folks over 40 instead of having actors over 40 playing characters in their 20s. Go Roy!! Go Nikki! Go Dances!! you won me over!

She's baaaccck...Finally! The lovely Lili has returned - forgiving, apologetic and loving. Fences were amended and new, improved relationships (Vicky, Nikki) began. Seems as though love blossomed too!
Best scene was Polita covering Balzac's eyes when Odiodette appeared at the wedding! Laughed out loud. Jean Marie and Estefano were so handsome - the matching outfits a bit much, but they pulled it off. And Madelaine, the Balzac tux made him hands down the best dressed of the evening.
How kind of Vicky to write Odiodette that letter. Was schocked she appeared at the wedding but it wasn't a surprise to you Carlos, was it? You had faith in her and you were right (again).

Doris- LOL! It's your tv again. There was a "dos semanas despues" note on the screen just before the wedding. Then it was was mentioned that Lili made a great effort to recover in those weeks (with Roy at her side coaching her) in order to be present at the wedding.
I may not get a chance to comment later but last night's episode was filled with apologies, finally! I want to thank you in advance for what I am sure will be an awesome recap. I'm glad to see the old Lily back. The hospital experience clearly softened the hardened girl. Odette is a hard cookie to crack but I'm glad that she softened up and supported her son, thanks to Vicky!

Mads- If the show is a normal 1 hour show throughout the week, then there IS still the final hour of the finale to show on Sunday. But Sunday is two hours. That's why I'm wondering if one of those hours will be a repeat or a special.

I am glad that Lililu has returned to her sweet self. She looked beautiful in the dress that she wore to the wedding. The color and style were perfect for her.
I also got a kick out of Big Angel and Roy taking turns holding little Adri at the wedding.; however, I cringed when Guillo was allowed to hold the baby , and then both Bea and Adri walked away and turned their backs. yikes.
Big Angel is so sweet to Vikki. That rocking horse must be made of titanium if the big guy can sit on it ...and rock. Wowee.

I just wanted to add that Vikki and Big Angel are examples of a good relationship. They are always supportive and tolerant of each other. I appreciate Vikki's mellow, gentle, positive , generous manner .She is a good role model.

ITA about JA and Vicky. They are a really good couple and very sweet together. They make each other better versions of themselves, which is as it should be.
This was such a happy episode! Lily is back to her sweet Disney princess self, and I LOVED the serenade scene.

Last night was so much fun and simply chocked full of adorable moments. I especially appreciated the exchange between Odette and Vikki. Odette chose the perfect moment to confess her sins to Vikki who was speechless as Odette ticked them off one after another. Then there was Odette's reaction as Vikki revealed the aspects of her relationship with Arriaga.
Diana, nopis, I was not in the least surprised by Odette's turnaround... a mother's love and all, doncha know.

@Vivi, it's unacceptable that American audiences are still so queasy about same-sex TV couples. Maybe future TNs will make them even bigger components of the storyline.
As evil as Anibal is, I always thought his love for Cande was sincere. Sadly, though, it's looking like Cande's in danger. Anyballs will do anything to save his own skin.

A BIG turnaround night last night. Just about everybody who was at odds with eachother, made up and are friends once again. Can we say
all in the family now?
The letter that Vikki wrote to Odette was very thoughtful, brilliant I must say. It got the old bruja to soften, and thus, she made up with both her son and Vikki.
Some of the key players were thinking about life differently as of last night which brings me to the Little Orchid. Her near death experience caused her to see things differently. I must brag a little at this point as I always believed in the little Orchid and never left her or gave up faith in her, no, not even when she was banished to the Siberian section of the patio. While Carlos had faith in a softening heart for Odetta, I had faith in the little flower girl lovingly refered to as the Little Orchid. I had faith in her for both Nikki and Roy and I have been rewarded. Last night was sweet.
Polita gets a gold star for covering Balzac's eyes when Odette
disrupted the wedding. That was so funny.
I too was fearful when Guillo was holding the baby. That was dangerous.
Nikki admitted that she cheated in the swimming race and Lili admits
that she shouldn't have asked Frankie to marry hed. Looks like both Nikki and the Little Orchid are comming to grips about their past and their feelings. Both are willing to start over with a new outlook. BIG FAT FRIENDS? YESS!!!
VICTORIA IN TEXAS---I said very early on that if Brat Nikki ever changed, then i would sit at her table out on the patio. Well, Nikki
has been going through a transformation which looks like it reached a climax last night. When Nikki admitted to Lili that she cheated in the swimming race, that did it for me. The BIG Nikki/Lili

A BIG turnaround night last night. Just about everybody who was at odds with eachother, made up and are friends once again. Can we say
all in the family now?
The letter that Vikki wrote to Odette was very thoughtful, brilliant I must say. It got the old bruja to soften, and thus, she made up with both her son and Vikki.
Some of the key players were thinking about life differently as of last night which brings me to the Little Orchid. Her near death experience caused her to see things differently. I must brag a little at this point as I always believed in the little Orchid and never left her or gave up faith in her, no, not even when she was banished to the Siberian section of the patio. While Carlos had faith in a softening heart for Odetta, I had faith in the little flower girl lovingly refered to as the Little Orchid. I had faith in her for both Nikki and Roy and I have been rewarded. Last night was sweet.
Polita gets a gold star for covering Balzac's eyes when Odette
disrupted the wedding. That was so funny.
I too was fearful when Guillo was holding the baby. That was dangerous.
Nikki admitted that she cheated in the swimming race and Lili admits
that she shouldn't have asked Frankie to marry hed. Looks like both Nikki and the Little Orchid are comming to grips about their past and their feelings. Both are willing to start over with a new outlook. BIG FAT FRIENDS? YESS!!!
VICTORIA IN TEXAS---I said very early on that if Brat Nikki ever changed, then i would sit at her table out on the patio. Well, Nikki
has been going through a transformation which looks like it reached a climax last night. When Nikki admitted to Lili that she cheated in the swimming race, that did it for me. The BIG Nikki/Lili
make-up is well under way and so if there is an empty seat at the Nikki table on the patio, I will take it.----Maybe there will no longer be seperate tables, maybe now there will be several combined tables. As I said earlier--All In

I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get a lavish food spread for JM's and Estef's wedding. No time to spare in these final episodes, I guess. Polita shielding Balzac from exposure to Odioette was very funny.
I loved the serenade. Nice song, and nice dress on Lili. As much as I hate Doris, I want her dress, too. I thought it was funny in the final freeze frame that Roy's hair took up about half the screen.
I'm delighted that Nikki's anti-anxiety pills seem to finally have kicked in. Or maybe she finally grew up a little. Will Guzmi still love her if she isn't the sharp-tongued brat he fell in love with?

Did anyone else get a feeling in the stomach like I did that Monday was an episode chuck full of appologies, confessions and reconciliations and promises to get along from here on out, only to have a real fast All-Hell-Breaks-Loose type episode tuesday?
Also another comment, how come KenDrat is so sure that the last will and testament she is reading is the very last one he wrote? How come he did not leave anything to Mia, being Mia the reason for his melting ego? (besides his disability)
I really want Dances to survive the ending (even though I have a bad feeling about him), but really don't want Candy or Anyballs to go free of punishment, and certainly don't want KenDrat, Inepto or NilSon to survive, they don't deserve to.

I don't see any reason why Lili wouldn't have been sincere in her appologies and would backslide. I thought it was very good of both Lili and Nikki to admit they were envious of each other.
Nikki's envy started almost immediately when she saw that Lili had a great relationship with both her parents, and had things she was really good at (swimming, martial arts, gardening). She wanted to have a good relationship with her dad and she wanted to be good at/passionate about something.
Lili began to envy Nikki when she realized she had the love of her first love/crush (Guzman), and turned into fury when she realized that Nikki also had the 2nd man she ever cared about (Roy) and married him. She thought Nikki only got the love of these two men because she was good looking, rich and had the BV name (because it was certainly hard to see any other redeeming qualities about her). Lili was genuinely surprised that Nikki would envy her, because in her eyes, Nikki had it all.

Wow! Dr. Hottie is a super-super doc. Not only did he "cure" Lili's wound, he also cured her (b)witchiness, her unforgivable nature towards her father and Victoria, her snobby "I'm a Balvanera, not Arriaga" attitude, her relationship with Nikki, her obsession with Guzman and her intolerance of Roy - all in one episode! Woo, hoo!

Anon- Guzman is even more marvelous than Super Doc. He cured Nikki's (b)witchiness, her unforgivable nature towards her mother, her snobby "I'm a Balvanera attitude, her relationship with Lili, her eating disorder, and her intolerance of servants and poor people--- and all WITHOUT a near-death experience to speed up the process! LOL!

Ooh, there was one thing that Lili said in the beginning of the episode, which will likely come back to haunt JA when he learns the truth. She tells Vicente how lucky she is to have him who saved her life, and her papa who gave her life. Now it will turn out Vicente is one and the same. She's going to have to fall back on the, "you're the one who raised me" speech when she finds out the truth. Just like JA keeps harping on Lili being his ONLY blood (relative) all the time. He's going to have to stop saying that. The truth is, the two of them have a deep connection that goes way beyond blood and DNA. They even feel each other's pain when something happens to the other.
Wow, I learned a new way to pay bills! Spread them all over the bed in neat little piles! Thanks, KendHo, you model of domesticity! :)

Absolutely and totally disappointed in the (non)role the godfather played throughout the novela. From the beginning I kept expecting him to do SOMETHING to help Adri and against Anibal ... I thought he was going to be a strong character, good father figure to Adriana, but no ... nada ... absolutamente useless! Psshh, what a waste of a character and possibly good plot lines!

Finally, Mexico has arrived in the 21st century with a gay wedding. Of course, no kiss because that would be way, way too much for las tradicionales, but it's a great start. The writers made a poing of shoing JA signing the witness list, but I didn't see him hug JM. I want to see the big macho man hug the little gay boy without freaking out.
We all know that Kendra must die, but Anyballs must join her in hell. That shouldn't be too hard to accomplish with the "infarto" tendencies.

I enjoyed the wedding and found it funny when Odette came and scared everyone and later when she confessed her evil deeds to Victoria.
This was actually the first time I've seen a telenovela use a real marriage certificate, not that it's the first time they have used one, it's just the first time that I've noticed one. It looked just like my birth certificate, my government likes their pink paper I guess.
Lili has always been a great girl, being over the brink of death just put things in perspective for her. I enjoyed the serenade, it was sweet.

Telenovelas are also made for a more conservative audience here and they usually sell them to very conservative countries as well so that's part of why they still refuse to show much with same sex couples but there are other types of shows for other audiences where they have done away with censoring them much.
