PEAM #144-9/27/13: One Pregnancy, One Being of Light, and One Kerfluffled Rogue, Oh, My!!!!!
Hola, PEAM Peeps. I am subbing for Ms Blue Lass who is away at a conference. I am combining some scenes to make the recap flow better.
We get the Alma in the hospital scene again, as her blood pressure drops, Pato gets a nurse for her. Alma is advised to stop stressing and Pato reminds Alma to think of the health of her bebe, who knew? Val must be rubbing off on Pato! Alma tells Pato she is important to her and Chucho even thanks Pato. Pato has some news. She is seriously thinking of going to Nuevo York with Elias!
Meanwhile, Eli is saying goodbye to his sweet little Val. She is very sad, but understands it is for work. He'll come back and visit her as he can. He also tells Val, casual you understand, that Pato is going with him to Nuevo York, que Padre!
Rico Suave and Maricela are in the Temple of Enlightenment and Rico is trying to explain the Light to her. He starts by trying to get Mari to meditate, but that ain't workin' for her. She loves her some Rico Suave, it's true, but she wants the old Rico Suave back, she can't seem to grasp the new Enlightened Rico Suave. She asks him to forgive her and she goes, he meditates.
Oh goody, look who it is, the Bobbsey Twins, er, not them, but Marci and Marta who now switch places! So poor Marci is in the manicomio and Marta is free as a bird. Viewerville seriously wants to know if they can pull this off? How much you wanna bet Marci wants out in a few days, hmmmmmm.............
Alma and Chucho in the hospital and Alma is restless, she just can't lie in bed like this, she has soooo much to do. She has so many responsiblities at Avon. Well, she mentioned Pancho, but Chucho gets a call, and it's from Augusto, who surprisingly, apologizes for calling right as the reception is going on, but he'd like to see him at his earliest convienance. Chucho tells Augusto, the wedding didn't happen, long story, so Augusto tells him to come see him like real soon. Since Chatita is now with Alma, feeding the poor woman, Chucho decides to take care of this now.
Marta is at the hotel where Marci got a room and is telling the clerk hello, while Cantu is looking for someone! Meanwhile, back at the manicomio, Marci is wishing Marta luck. Meanwhile, in the bar of this hotel, Rogue is thinking of what Discua told him to do. Here comes Cantu to commiserate with him. Rogue just feels bad and goes.
Back at Roger's (Rogue's) place it's bedtime for Val. Moronica is tucking Val in and tells her oh, by the way, you will be having a little brother or sister soon, I'm preggers, and the bebe daddy is Roger! Val is stunned, I tell you stunned! Well, Val tells Moronica that Eli is going to Nuevo York to work and that Pato is going with him! Stunned Moronica, but an even more stunned Rogue who has heard all behind the door. Rogue is majorly pithed!
Augusto and Chucho have their meet, and the upshot is that Augusto is retiring, and Augusta will be taking over! He wishes it were Chucho but it just can't be. Well, Chucho tenders his resignation, and tells Augusto he'd probably be out anyways. Augusto is sorry to see him go, but thanks him for all his hard work, professionalism and above all his advice, and friendship. Brohug!
Meanwhile, Alma has called Pancho Lopez again, and Enriquetta has called Alma back. Enriquetta is Pancho's executive secretary and right hand woman, if you watched UFCS you'd know who she is, anyhoo, she tells Alma not to worry about the job situation. Pancho has faith that Chucho will be returning to Avon! Alma reminds Enriquetta that Chucho works at Orion now. Enriquetta says no worries, cause Avon is offering Chucho the Deputy Director's positon at Avon, Alma's in other words. Alma is happy. Just one thing Pancho wants. If the bebe is a boy, think of naming him Francisco, awwww....
Pato and Alma are talking at home now. The hospital discharged Alma and warned her to get plenty of bed rest. Pato is telling Alma she is thinking about Eli's offer to go to Nuevo York. Here comes Eli with Minerva! Minerva will be working for Alma and Chucho now and will be able to see Val when she comes to stay. Minerva is so happy! Eli asks after Chucho, who is still at Orion. So, Eli wants a word with Pato. They go. Eli wants to know if Pato is going to Nuevo York with him, when Chatita interrupts. She has something for Alma and has lost her way. They point her in the right direction and she goes. Eli tells Pato he is in love with her, and at that Pato is going to go to Nuevo York with him!
Chucho has come back to Alma's with news and he does the UF sound. Alma has news too, so Chucho goes first, and tells her that Augusta will be taking over Orion and Alma says what a coinky dink cause Pancho would like Chucho to be the new Deputy Director at Avon. Great news, he takes the job! Wait till Rogue finds out! What is he gonna call him now, cause Secetario is out!
Roger is pacing in his bedroom when Moronica walks in and wants to know what is up with him. He is still thinking of Pato going to Nuevo York! Moronica, with Maury's voiceover, is about to tell him, yes, you are the bebe daddy, when he walks out of the room and she goes to hurl in the bathroom!
Sebas has come to see Susana at home. He talks about Alma and
Chucho and Susana is surprised Sebas has accepted Chucho into the family, being the "poor man" that he is. Sebas is just happy that Alma is happy and that's all that counts! Sebas asks Susana to give him another chance, but unfortunatley she's got a hot AARP hunk she is seeing, her boyfriend! Sucks to be Sebas.
Pato is talking to Chatita and tells her that Eli loves her, but the question Chatita has for Pato is, does Pato love Eli! Something for Pato to ponder. Later, Alma and Chatita both talk to Pato. They remind Pato that she can't be thinking about Rogue if she wants to make this relationship with Eli work. Speak of the devil, here comes Rogue looking for Pato. Chucho gets the door and Rogue thinks he is just walking right in after he says he's there to see Pato. Chucho makes him go back outside, and he'll check with Pato to see if she'll deign to speak with him. She doesn't deign to speak with him! Chucho tells Rogue this, who is super pithed, calls Chucho a secretario, 'natch. Rogue yells and begs Pato, and Pato comes undone!
Ferny and Xochi are at home and Ferny reflects on the fact that if Rogue hadn't played that little fraud article on him, his life would have been different.
Rogue has given up and gone home. He goes to his room, sees Moronica passed out on the bed, takes a bag and packs it. He is thinking of going to his ranch cause of all the wonderful memories he has of Pato there.
Discua has come to the Temple of Enlightenment dressed in her white cowl outfit and while Xochi, Ferny, Mari, and Rico Suave are on the bank, immerses herself in the water, as her acolytes plink the water with their hands and sing. Discua is still under the water and Ferny and Xochi, and Mari are a little concerned that she's been under the water too long. Ferny is about to jump in, when Discua emerges, looking very calm and smiling. Rico Suave thanks the light. This was another purification ceremony and Discua feels it has helped her. Discua wishes Xochi and Ferny all the happiness in the world and to have a child! Discua doesn't know what her future holds but she is living in the here and now, for today in other words. Discua is going to go off on her own now and Mari acutally feels good for Discua. Discua now walks down the path, very serenely as the acolytes sing.
Chucho has brought Alma some breakfast and they are talking about what happened to Alma. Alma thinks that either Moronica or one of the henchies called the ambulance for Alma. Chucho wants to go to the cops, but Alma tells him no! Her reasoning is that Val will take it badly if Moronica ends up in the hoosegow. Alma talks him into not calling the cops! Chucho did say he doesn't feel comfortable with Val being with Moronica after what she did.
Eli and Chucho are now saying goodbye. Chucho shakes Eli's hand and thanks him for letting him see Val when he first came from Chicago, Chucho assures Eli that Val will miss him muchly. Chucho assures him they are brothers and have a brohug, while Eli reflects on all the times they spent together. The shake hands and Eli goes.
Chucho is all dressed up for work and is accosted by Rogue of all people, in the parking lot, begging Chucho to let him see Pato. Chucho tells Rogue, so sorry, so sad, she is at the airport, going to Nuevo York! Rogue jumps in his car and goes.
Bit scene with Cardy and Jessy at Avon. He's bought the tickets for Jessy's family to fly in from Puerto Rico, happy, happy, joy, joy.
Chucho has gone to Orion and sees Aida and Julio and asks for a box. He is packing his things. Well, Aida and Julio don't want to stay at Orion if Chucho is leaving, he tells them, wait for it, they are hired at Avon, happy, happy, joy, joy! Here comes Augusta with fire and brimestone spilling out of her, does anyone smell something burning? They go into Chucho's office and she tells him he's fired! Well, Chucho has already resigned, and to top it off, he'll be working for Orion's competition, Avon, of course. Oh, SNAP! Augusta is so pithed he beat her to the punch, once he leaves the office, she screams and trashes it as Chucho, Aida and Julio gleefully leave for Avon!
Rogue is running thru the airport, trying to find Pato. He is begging the security guards to let him go to the gate, nopis, no can do. Rogue didn't get the Chucho tutorial on how to beg, and give a wonderful love story to get past that point! Rogue says he has lost the woman he loves!
Chucho has returned to Avon, box in hand, along with Julio and Aida. He informs the Secetarias that he is BACK! And not only that, he is the new Deputy Director! Que, Que, What????? from all the secretarias! Here we end this epi!
Avances:
Rogue is in his office having a fit! What else is new?
Moronica comes to Avon, and Chucho warns her to stay away from Alma!
Tune in Este Lunes to find out what else happens. MUST SEE TV!

Thanks for throwing a shoutout in there to the Bobbsey Twins. I still have my mother-in-law's original books, and I certainly grew up on those stories but my own children have NEVER been interested. Now Sweet Valley Twins, that was more their speed.
Hope the weather out there is as gorgeous as it is here, and that you will have some time to "skylark" today. And thanks mucho for your witty recap with all your special MADS colloquialisms. You have a language all your own, amiga mia!
I especially enjoyed Jesus stopping Rogelio from entering Alma's home. I also liked that he beat Augusta to the punch and took away the pleasure she would have had in firing him.
For me, Rogelio will never be worthy of Paty no matter how much he suffers, apologizes, repents. Too bad so sad that it looks like he will wear her down and get her back maybe even at the airport.

Okay, so we have one, two dads, three moms, a grandma, anyone else want custody? Can we begin?
Ok, bio mom has just kidnapped and assaulted bio dad's pregnant fiancée.
-- Your honor, that would be wife if not for bio mom obstructing the wedding.
Juarever. And adoptive dad has left for another country with or without madrina, but wants a skype-custody arrangement.
And bio dad has introduced another element, schizophrenic therapist --
-- No, your honor, that was bio mom. Bio dad exposed the child to criminal elements.
I see. And bio mom is pregnant through a relationship with bio dad's fiancée's ex.
-- You honor, that relationship is ending.
But the pregnancy is not. Well, who's to say. That'll be another custody case.
-- This is Valentina speaking. I would like to be emancipated, and plan to live with Ray-Rai in a civil union in Mexico City.
Looks like the rest of the novela will be not Hawt, as Alma is off limits for medical reasons, Ricardo, Mari, Fer, Xochi are meditating, even the former receptionist is kind of toned down. I guess I'll have to stay tuned to CI and LT for more steam.
How convenient that Alma is on bedrest in order to begin her new life as a mother, and Jesus can take over her job! Hopefully, Roger will get fired and Alma will take over his post as the Director over Jesus, and the two of them will share bringing up the child(ren). Though probably they will hire a nanny and a maid.
I hope that Alma gets promoted to Rogue's position when she is back on her feet, too. It is, after all, Avon, The Company For Women. Rogue can go live on his ranch and sit in the corner and think about what he's done. Augusta can go join him in the Time Out corner. What a tantrum; good grief.
I'm sure going to miss Elias. Yes, Daniela, the show will be much less hawt without him. I've loved JA since he played Chef Hawt. Remember? His story line with Paty has been the most fun to watch these last few weeks.
So what do we think? Will Pato actually go to NY? After all it was Elias who was forced off the show, not Pato. I've been trying to find some info about what caused the sudden plot shift & it sounds as though it was Colunga whose nose was out of joint -- maybe because all the fans were more enchanted by Elias/Paty than by the main couple. Then again who knows? It's all gossip.

I'm glad Jesus is not going to be jobless, and I am happy to see the end of him having Disgusto and Disgusta as bosses. But I want Alma to be in the top job at Avon, so I hope this bed rest thing won't last for long. It will be interesting to see how super efficient Aida fits in with the gossipy Avon crowd. And will she have to go from wearing her nice suits, to that stupid Avon uniform? Blech! I might be tempted to stay at Orion, just to keep wearing my own clothes, if I were her. Will Julio now have to wear a uniform, since he's Chucho's personal assistant?
I will repeat again how unhappy I am about Elias' departure. It just really screws with the storyline, and is not in keeping with the character. He would not leave his Chaparrita like that. And can I say how much I prefer Chaparrita as a nickname for Val, over Princesa, which Chucho calls her. Gah! Sorry to be so cranky. I hope the writers really pull themselves together and make this last phase of the tn coherent and entertaining.
My Spanish is nearly non-existent, so I probably misunderstood this, but I thought Marta/Marcia were talking about Marta coming back the next evening.
Is Francisco Pancho’s real name?
I’m ashamed that I never once thought of Minerva in all this. So glad she’s going to be a part of Jesus’ and Alma’s family. Taking care of Alma until it’s safe for her to be out of bed, taking care of Vale when she visits, taking care of baby when s/he arrives. Taking care of Vale if Jesus gets custody.
Glad that though he’s considering Alma’s advice not to put the mother of his little girl in jail, he’s not comfortable with Vale being with Vero. As I said before, I’d blackmail her into giving up custody.
Awkward hug between JA and FC. Body language was so different from their earlier ones. I hadn’t read that about JA’s condition. I suspect, from what I have read, that Elias will not be making another appearance (as someone had mentioned before). But you can’t believe everything you read and I hope that isn’t true.
Oh, and very glad that Julio and Aida are going to Avon with Jesus.
How do you think it was supposed to have ended if Eli wasn’t forced out? Would Eli and Pato have ended up together with Rog in prison? Would Rog still have won over Pato? Would Eli have ended up with Minerva?

Since I'm a latecomer this weekend, everyone has said pretty much what I was thinking.
ITA- with Elias leaving and Jesus, Julio and Aida returning to Avon.
Kerfluffled is a wonderful term but I still don't care for Rogue.
Daniela- I am still laughing at your comment about Val and Ray Rai.
Judy B:
I loved those Bobbsey Twins books. I found them at the library when I was a kid, along with Nancy Drew. When this twins storyline came up the Bobbsey Twins books just popped in my head : )
Jarifa:
I too was laughing when Augusta was ticked off that Chucho had resigned. Hopefully now Chucho will stay at Avon.
Daniela:
I laughed all the way through your comment. It made my day : ) I thought the same thing as you did about Roger being fired or maybe caught and having to leave his post at Avon and that Alma would take over at some point. We will have to see.
Corazon Salvaje:
It's great to see you here. We only have 37 epi's left. : )
Julia:
I laughed so hard at your comment too about Rogue sitting in the corner with Augusta! Now that would be a real hoot. Maybe they will end up together at the end of this TN, one can hope ; )
Thanks so much amiga! I am with you about hopefully this TN ends well. There have been so many silly twists and turns lately. I wish they could have resolved their differences (FC and JA) and gone on with the Elias storyline. It will feel like a big piece is missing from this TN now.
Julia:
They didn't wear uniforms at Avon in Toluca. I am rewatching UFCS in late night and seeing Sandra in all her many get ups for work. Maybe this was Rogue's particular thingy with the uniforms.
Guera:
I too never listen to the gossip. It's just sad we won't be seeing the Elias storyline. It was the best and the chemistry with he and Pato was wonderful. I am really hoping that Rogue ends up with Augusta, now that would be a hoot!
Nanette:
I too was surprised that Minerva will be working for Chucho and Alma. I really like her, and I bet she doesn't have to go around wearing those long gloves and that nurse's uniform either : ) Yes, Francisco is Pancho's true first name.
TJ:
Thanks so much!
Bummer that Chef Hawt (I will always think of him this way) had to leave the show. I agree it feels not-right that he left for NYC. I don't listen to (or believe...much) the gossip rags so it would be nice if people worked out their "differences" and Jorge Aravena could find his way back to our show. But I'm not holding my breath.
I know it is the most minor plot point ever, but I'm glad that Minerva has found a home in the show. That poor girl went above and beyond and has a good heart!
Thanks Mads! I really enjoyed this recap.
Daniela, thank you for the huge laugh at your Family Court Hearing.
You are so welcome, anytime!
Cap'n:
Surprisingly this one is not that hard to recap. It is light and fluffy most of the time, I'm not counting the many perilous situations that poor Val and Alma have been in, or all the scene switching going on. I watch in real time and take copius notes as I watch. At least this one doesn't have all the slang that UFCS did. That was a true learning experience. Watching UFCS in late night again is very pleasant now that I know what they were truly saying ; ) La Temp lately has more scene switching than PEAM does ; )
I think the uniforms were an excuse to get Jesus into one for the comedy factor.
OT: what are the vets opinions about the new one starting next week re: actors, writers, producers?
Nanette
I hear that TN is good and only 100 epi's give or take. I'm not the fan of David Zepeda, I still have that scene of him and that wall on LFDD stuck in my brain, but I do like Mayrin Villanueva. She was Rebeca in UFCS and quite good I thought. I think I just may take a peek when it starts.
I was surprised that Julio was so quick to be happy about moving back to Avon. After all, he did leave because he couldn't work with Xochtil. It will be interesting to see how that dynamic plays out with Aida.
I think Julio will be just fine. There is a budding romance with Aida now and I really think that Julio will be good friends with Julio now. I like the fact that Aida knows all about Xochi and what happened so I think things will be good.
Carvivle: good point about Julio returning to Avon. I hope his relationship with Aida has progressed enough where it won't be a problem.
Romancing the Wall is still one of the most hilarious scenes I have ever seen. Just thinking about it now makes me laugh again. I don't mind DZ as long as he isn't trying to be a romantic galan. That is...not his strength.
I know Alex right? He was wonderful and they are also at the point now that Transetti (Enzzo) is noticing Chela. That was my favorite part and yes, those long lists of phrases and words, but now at least I know what they mean. They even said Equis in UFCS, I heard that the other night too : )
That's exactly right what you said about DZ and that wall. After that I couldn't take him seriously as a galan. I like him better as the evil or semi evil guy that gets redeemed.
I looked both of them up, but no word yet on when they will be doing a new TN. I did however, see that CdF will be in a new upcoming TN , which will probably be shown here in 2014, called Quiero Amarte. His leading lady in that one is none other than Karyme Lozano the late Mariana from El Talisman! Her talent was wasted on El Talisman that was for sure!
Karyme Lozano starred in the first telenovela I ever watched, Amar Sin Limites, back when I understood almost no Spanish. Her character was very self-centered. I liked her better in El Tal, for the most part, but that was a thankless job for her. I would like to see her as a more likeable character with a good plot.
