Deb:
Thanks so much for the links.
I missed a couple episodes last week, I watch in late night, but I was able to catch Friday's and last nights.
I am glad Teresa went back to the house she and Santiago shared. Now she knows that Eddy sold the house, all I gotta say is sucks to be Eddy. I'm sure she'll get her venganza on him.
It was kinda funny when Patty and Teresa went to see Oleg the Russian. It looked like Patty was gonna pee her pants ; I'm glad Teresa took over and spoke up about her idea. Oleg seems to like her. That was a great idea with the decoy yacht. Had to laugh at Commisar Flores who just knew those poor people were in on it. Those people were so confused ; )
So Juarez was dirty and Flores wasn't. I was surprised. I thought they both were. You can tell that Flores has it in for Teresa and Patty.
I am liking the previews for tonight with Teresa going back to Melilla and Yamilla and sees her friends and gives Dris some hell. I hope she gets some venganza on him too!
I agree Madelaine, that was a good show last night,
Teresa/Paty meet the russians, so precious, if only Paty's lighter would work,
and Oleg with his bottle of Vodka in a block of ice.

the scene in the speedy boat, Christina Urgel (Paty) talks about it in her blog, Kate (Teresa) was shown only minutes before how to run that boat, and here they were going as fast as they could with the filming helicopter (flown by Collado) so close she felt she could touch it.

it sounded like quite a rush!
I really liked this episode with the reunion of Teresa and the girls from Yamilla. I like that she gave it to Dris and then some. He knows he's guilty as sin so to speak. Look who he went running to first thing, Chaib! I am liking that Teresa is taking Fatima and Mohammed with her to the Pennisula.
About Oscar the reporter, I think he purposely went to that bar and told those guys about Teresa, not to spread gossip, but as a warning to them. The bald headed guy with the glasses, Santiago had done bidness before with him.
Here's my theory on Teresa and hooking up with the Russian Mob. She is a woman, men usually do these types of drug runs. She has a lot of experience she learned from Santiago, about routes, the boat, etc. Those former bosses of Santiago I don't think, can stand a woman running that type of operation. Even though the Russians are the major bosses, Teresa runs the operation. That's what I think Oscar was trying to convey to these guys, same with Dris. He can't believe a woman is running things, oh the horror ; )
I do feel bad for Patty, for the abuse in her past, and for continuing to do the coke. I thought she was stronger than that, but evidentially she is better suited to a prison type of life than free to do what she wants. She was better in the prison. Now she is completely out of control and she better watch her butt. Oleg is none to pleased with her.
Can't wait till tomorrow when Teresa comes into her own.
Funny how Teresa is such a sympathetic character when she is really doing the same thing (drug dealing) that Aurelio from El Senor did but much less sympathy. Of course, Teresa doesn't rape, but still. She's a drug dealer and a darned likable one.
Kelly
I was surprised to see Patty get so scared in dealing with Oleg. Patty's not crazy fearless like I thought, but then this gave Teresa a chance to come into her own.
Nice to see Dris so scared of what Teresa might do. But in the previews for Wednesday he seemed so terrified and vulnerable, I actually felt sorry for him. The actor playing Dris is very good, like the whole cast.
Can't stand watching Patty's drug use. I wondered whether Reina would show the personal devastation of drug use, which has destroyed many lives and communities and which Teresa doesn't think about at all. I guess maybe it will through Patty.
Kelly - It seems Teresa is taking only Fatima and son.
"Marido en Alquiler", gran final, 13jan14,
"La Impostora", gran estreno, 14jan14,
day,
"Avenida Brasil", gran estreno, 6jan14, 12pm/11am central.
So Dris went into the drink! I'm surprised he survived! I wonder how far from shore they were when the Russians tossed him overboard?
Teresa has learned well from Don Epinfanio hasn't she? Get rid of your enemies one by one. She has come a long way from the scared woman she was in that Church in Sinaloa. Really like how she got those concessions out of Chaib. Teresa has more heart than Don Epifanio though. She rescued Lalo from that prison in Morocco and has moved Fatima and Mohammed to the Peninsula. Kelly, I agree with you.
I feel bad for Patty. They are showing her spiraling into the drug abuse and you can't help feeling sorry for her. They showed Rattas constant drug abuse too, but he is a psycho. Patty feels unloved, even though Teresa does love her, but not in the way Patty wants. Patty hasn't had love from her family, her father abused her and now she has signed her inheritance rights away. Jaime never loved Patty. I want Patty to show the gumption she had in prison. She could go a long way. Maybe Teresa will get her some help. I agree with you too Neice.
Pablo Flores really wants to put Teresa back in jail. I had to laugh when he thought she hadn't asked permission from her Parole Officer to go to Melilla. Ha! on him. She had actually done it. I don't think he is gonna get the goods on her. She is moving to Malaga away from his jurisdiction.
Teresa also never forgets. That last shipment of hashish was too heavy and so slowed their boat down. She so wants to get everybody that had anything to do with Sanitago's death. First Dris and now the cop.
Now she really comes into her own.
Thanks, Madelaine. I always enjoy your comments.
Watching the second time around I see more nuances than I did the first time. When Teresa was talking with Chaib and The Pig (can't remember his name) her face looked harder and her voice was harsher. She's turning into La Reina del Sur before our eyes.
I enjoyed the first time and I still enjoy Oleg and Teresa's interactions. At first he was reluctant to believe the guys "Tesa" was accusing of setting up she and Santiago had really done so. But, as she laid out her case for how the whole thing went down, he was convinced by her logic, not her emotion.
We are all on Tesa's side even though she is really a horrible person, but with a big heart for her friends. Don't fu#@ with her!
This is fiction, but if you like this stuff, watch Cocaine Cowboys, a documentary about the narcos in Miami in the 70's. I see it listed in the TV guide once in awhile. For an idea of part of it, look up Griselda Blanco on Wiki. This is the new "Godfather" stuff, truth is worse than fiction. She was truly La Reina de la Florida del Sur.
So Patty has signed away her inheritance and the family house. If she ever gets in trouble again, she can't count on her family for anything.
So Canabotes and Velasco are both dead and Dris and Eddy are on the run. Dris is really sweating blood. Eddy is very scared too and I had to laugh that he was in that bar and Teresa missed him! I am liking Oscar and he is looking out for Teresa, surprisingly enough.
I like that Teresa threw up after she found out that Oleg made good on his promise of getting rid of two of her enemies, shows she has a conscience, something Epifanio does not have. Teresa is bad, but not as bad as Epifanio.
I'm surprised the Russian burned Yamilla down. Now what are the girls and Ahmed going to do?
So now begins Teresa's education about being Nuevo Riche. I had to laugh when Teresa went on about how expensive everything was. I liked the pant suit that Teresa wore, but not the red dress, too hootchie Mama. I hope Teresa finds her own fashion sense to fit in with the upper crust.
I'm surprised that Teresa shook hands with the helicopter pilot and he was kind of eyeing Teresa up and down, I think he really likes her.
It was funny how Mohammed took the initiative and scaled the walls of the house to let Fatima in. Patty was all kinds of funny there, but I don't like her attitude toward Fatima and Mohammed. Speaking of that house, wow, what a door, it almost looks medieval in how big it is, and the ceilings, wow! They are at least sixteen feet if not more.
Oh, and that cop Flores! It seems it is his mission in life to destroy Patty and Teresa. I think Teresa is way too smart and I think he will have a long hard road to try and catch her at anything. He doesn't know who he is messing with.
I didn't like the previews, but maybe Eddy gets his cause Teresa runs right into him and he looks like he is about to crap his pants. Sucks to be him, he shouldn't have double crossed her!
wow, love your comments Madelaine, just like a recap, and I get to learn a little more about this wonderful story through your eyes.
I also originally noticed the front door,

I haven't watched Thursday's yet, but I sure hope Caceres is on Teresa's enemy list too. Haven't forgotten how he humiliated her. Pig. Loved that she didn't shake his hand.
Teresa certainly has impressed Oleg. He and Chaib seem similar types, but Oleg seems more human to me. Maybe it's his sense of humor.
Thanks everybody for your great comments and all the links to ancillary info. I'm still such a Telemundo newbie that I have trouble navigating between the current comments and the previous. I find (with my primitive hearing and comprehension) that I do better if I read ahead. That way, all the interesting subtleties that people point out don't go right past me. I wait for them and hope to hear them. All you Caray-ers rock. That was one b-i-i-g front door. Pati is such a gorgeous flawed creature. I'm loving Teresa's grit and muscle. Funny that Oleg is simpàtico, for being so cold blooded.
Madelaine, I think Pati's papa made it clear that if she got in trouble again, he wouldn't be there for her, so it was no loss to her if she signed away her inheritance. Sad & pathetic. I've gotten to like the character, but she's such a mess and getting worse.

I believe Fatima is a bit insecure anyway because of her past, but I hated seeing her demur to Patty's crap. But I knew Teresa would set Patty straight. I have to give Patty props though for not boinking Mohammed, at least not yet.
I thought Cañabotas' murder was well done, as a random sex crime. So I was surprised Flores traced this to the Russians. I guess the method is a known Russian mob technique in the TN.
Just when I feel sorry for Dris, he shows what a colossal a$$ he is. Calling Epifanio was just plain stupid. Hope good riddance comes for him soon.
Though Oleg gave Teresa the speech about not having loves one close in order to avoid vulnerability to enemies, he didn't seem happy about it. I wonder if he learned this the hard way.
If Teresa, instead of Oleg, sent Flores the photos of his kids, she has certainly turned a corner. To me this act is more chilling than the two hits, which caused her to throw up.
