TELEMUNDO Y MÁS: Marido en Alquiler -- Week of December 30, 2013
No programs on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Teresa Cristina tells Elsa to not stir from the kitchen, even if there’s an earthquake. Elsa pipes up that, if TC is asking her to be out of sight so she won’t see the Fisherman, she’s wasting her time. He’s already upstairs!
We are treated to a rather boring discussion of who does the dishes at Casa Carrasco. Quique is upset that Antonio got off scot-free. Griselda admits that he got off with the “test tomorrow” excuse. [I used this trick often to stick my sister with the dishes when I was in Junior High School.]
The chicas, Bárbara, Pati and Amalia coo over Amalia’s wedding dress. Bárbara is happy to be there and says out loud how great it is to be with a family. A family is what she most wants in the world. Quique, of course, is at the door, and tells her time’s up.
TC catches José in her bedroom trying to get into her lockbox. As usual, when caught out, he goes on the offensive. He rails at her about not being able to stand shrieking women. But he ends up admitting that he’d have emptied the box if he could have gotten it open. He tells her he’s there to enjoy himself and take advantage of whatever he can! He also tells her she has a huge debt built up because of his “art of fishing for sea bass”.
In a rather bizarre turn of events, she gives him the combination to the box and tells him to open it and take what he wants. But after opening it, he doesn’t take the money. She then does a complete emotional 180 and tells him that she’s upset at him for not doing his fatherly duty in walking Amalia down the aisle. José replies that it doesn’t surprise him that the mecha corta of her ex would want to be involved in these things. [I’m surprisee by this metaphor. Reinaldo is anything but a short fuse.] TC has another mood swing. She throws money all over the floor in her haste to get her gun out of the lockbox. José hustles himself right out of there, not even picking up any money.
Gris has taken Quiquito up to bed. Bárbara asks Quique to let her come back to him. Apparently Q got at least something from José. His response: ¿Perrrr-dón? She begs him some, but he says she’s just after his mother’s money. Just as he thinks she’s leaving, she kisses him and they’re off to the races on the Living Room sofa. After getting Q beside himself with lust, Bárbara gives him a look like: “My work here is done.” And leaves.
Pati tells Griselda that, when she’s cooking for the family and serving them, she reminds her of her father. She asks why Gris doesn’t give him a chance. She insists that the photos are a lie and that she’s going to prove that Vanessa cooked up the whole thing.
Daniel and some friends are in a club recording Sol singing a fairly mediocre pop song and dancing. Of course, everyone watching thinks she’s terrific. Right on time, Manuel bursts in roaring about her exhibiting herself half nude. Hmmm. Daniel tells the crew to keep on recording. Manuel may end up on You Tube.
Reinaldo has come to Casa Palmer. TC confronts him and asks if he’s come to seduce her. He explains that he knows that Pati is with Antonio and he’s decided to get the things she left here and take them to the posada. TC refuses and threatens to call the police and accuse him of robbing her. He gives her a resigned look and says he can’t believe how many years he lived with her without realizing how dangerous she is. He says that common sense arrived late, but just in time. He says he doesn’t want his daughter anywhere near her. When she still insists, he asks her why she wants her daughter. Is it to have someone to take out her frustrations on? Reinaldo tells her that Pati told him her mother had almost pushed her down the stairs and that TC thought about also killing Pati. TC: “Forget also." She swears she never killed anyone.
Just then TC gets a spooky look on her face and goes into her room for the gun. She points it at Reinaldo, who is in the process of packing Pati’s clothes. “My daughter will only leave here after death, but first I’m going to kill you!” She’s behaving like a lunatic, giggling and glassy-eyed. She tells him she has no problem filling him full of bullets. After all she has the blood of Carlota Valdés in her veins. “Time to die”, she says. “Time to die”. Rei lunges for the gun and they struggle for control.
Downstairs we see Elsa with her ear buds in place, listening to a pop song and blending what looks like a smoothie. So she hears nothing of the quarrel upstairs.
The gun goes off. We don’t know who was shot. Griselda hears the shot from her house. We then see that Reinaldo was shot. The sight of blood dripping from his arm appears to bring TC to her senses. Of course, the first words out of her mouth are that it was all his fault. She pursues him down the stairs. “Wait! Wait! Forgive me! Forgive me!” She says it was an accident [Riiiiight. If he hadn’t gone for the gun, she’d have shot him in the chest!] TC goes on to say that she loved him like no other man. Yes, she was unfaithful, but it was because she was furious about feeling she wasn’t important to him. He just stares at her. “Say something!” she shrieks. She asks him to swear to her that he isn’t going to press charges. She sobs that she is the way she is because she doesn’t have him any more. He was her rock. Then: “For the love of our daughter, don’t accuse me.” Rei: “the love of our daughter that you wanted to throw down the stairs!”
She then almost looks like she’s saying a real thing. She says that it’s not her fault. She only tried to love them the best that she could, like a lioness. But, with the same force that she loved, she could hate them.
At Casa José, he and Bárbara are in the kitchen when she suddenly runs off to be audibly sick in another room. She comes back and tells him she doesn’t feel good. José obviously has seen a lot of telenovelas, like the rest of us, and draws the obvious conclusion. He goes on to say: O es producto de la comida que te dio su ex-suegra de cena o es producto de la comida que te da su ex-marido. He roars with laughter at his own joke.
Daniel is not putting up with Manuel’s behavior this time. He refuses to give him the recording, and they almost come to blows.
After Reinaldo leaves, TC is in her room and asks herself why she can’t stop trying to get rid of things that bother her.
Instead of going to the Emergency Room, Rei goes across the street to Griselda. Crap! The ER staff would call the cops!
TC calls Tía Iris in a state. Iris tells her not to move a finger; she’s on her way.
The commotion with Reinaldo arriving bleeding has gotten the whole house downstairs. Pati asks him who shot him. Rei says it was an accident. Gris tells Quique to call an ambulance. But Reinaldo asks Pati to call their family doctor. [OK, this keep TC out of the clink to stretch the plot is getting on my last nerve. Two days ago Reinaldo Ibarra was conspiring with Detective Ríos to get his ex accused of murdering Marcela. He was petrified of what she might do to his daughter. So…now he has the perfect way to get her behind bars… and nada?] Antonio says he’ll see what he can do, but Rei still may need to go to the hospital.
TC babbles to Iris that she didn’t mean to do it. He jumped at her and they fought for the gun. She says she didn’t pull the trigger. And then, eyes wide with fear, she says that she herself could have been shot. When Iris asks where he went, TC opines that he went to the hosopital. Iris: “My God! He’ll show up with a gunshot wound, and the police will want to know how he got it!” When TC continues to say it was an accident, Iris asks her if she thinks Ríos will believe that story. Iris says that her only option is to leave, to disappear until things cool off. TC: “What, without slaves?”
Tony finishes bandaging Rei’s arm. He tells him that the wound was superficial, but he did lose a lot of blood. Tony thinks he should go to the hospital. Griselda tells everyone else what Viewerville already knows. If he goes to the hospital, he’ll have to say who shot him. THIS is why he doesn’t want to go. Reinaldo asks to be alone with her.
He tells her that it really was an accident. Rather shakily he says that he went to get Pati’s clothes, and she refused to let him take them. They said things they shouldn’t have said, and she threatened him. Teresa Cristina would never shoot me. Griselda tells him that he’s lying. He’s protecting her like he’s done his whole life. He replies that he wants to protect Pati, Griselda, and her family. Griselda: “You know how to protect everyone, including Pati. Put that lunatic in jail! Then we’ll all be safe. But you won’t do it. Because you are still tied to her, one way or another.”
Iris and TC are packing. She’s back on her arrogant high horse. Iris thinks Reinaldo will press charges. TC says he’ll never say that she shot him. He wouldn’t do that to her because of their daughter.
Reinaldo is upstairs with Tony. Pati asks Griselda why she is the way she is right now. She asks if Gris thinks her mother tried to kill her father. She doesn’t get much of an answer. She goes upstairs to her father. “Tell me what happened! My mother went nuts, right?” Reinaldo: “Unfortunately, yes.”
And thank you, Sue, for Friday - your recaps are much appreciated.
Novelera, I agree with you about Rei's reaction - their dragging their fit so much, it's infuriating to watch.
And Gris is very annoying, too. At the beginning of this tn, I thought she was a good, hard working woman - now I think she is just too proud and smug to admit when she is wrong.
I'm ready for this to be over fast!!
Adriana-ITA with your whole comment. I couldn't believe, that now that he has some evidence to have the police make some charge against TC, he does nothing! It makes no sense.
Gris has seen no other evidence that Rei is a womanizer. She hasn't seen him Vanessa once since the photos (and thank goodness, we haven't seen much of her either). Yet, she still refuses the consider the possibility that he's telling the truth. If I were Rei, I don't think I'd want to be with someone who has such little faith in me.
thanks so much novelera,
you do the BEST recaps!
the part that throws me about Reinaldo is the earlier part, where he went to the police guy with the poster and accused his wife of being the murderer, every other time he has had this conservative way of protecting his family, like now when he doesn't want the gunshot wound reported.
and yes, I think Manuel will be in the video, he was mimicking Sol's dance so well.
so where is TC going, won't this make her look guilty,
(hmm, there were no witnesses)
and where has Vanessa been,
and why does Iris ever go to see TC without Mario?
Can we now compare this with the Brazilian version, since the two seem to have parted ways in at least some regards, and since there seem to be only a few of us watching these last couple of weeks?
I'm asking because there was one plot development at the end in the Brazilian version that I would have done anything to avoid watching, but I think we're safe from it now...
This is my favorite novela on t.v. now. I just cannot get into the new ones on Univision(Robó, Mentir, Por Siempre)& Santa Diabla lost me awhile back.
It is curious that Reinaldo didn't go to the police, as he did with the wanted poster.
I'm ready to throttle Griselda for not believing Reinaldo about Vanessa. Such a novela cliché.
Juan Soler is wonderful in this. Beliveable, warm, decent, and muy guapo!
Glad someone is watching besides me!
JP is so attractive in all sorts of ways that I'm pretty much willing to forgive him anything as long as he repents. (I have lower standards in my fiction than in real life. I hope.) And there is just such wonderful chemistry and believability between him and Esther that I think they have to end back together. He was adorable with Victoria, and I'm hoping that we're going to see him become just as obsessed with and committed to Victoria as he is with Esther.
Gabriel deserves better than being dumped, but "deserves got nothing to do with it," especially in fiction. Let's have Diosa sweep him off his feet to console him.
I'm relieved that it seems that Reinaldo is going to end up with Griselda, especially when I compare this with the utterly horrible alternative in the original Fina Estampa. But I am starting to think he could do better. (And I've never before thought that of Juan Soler's characters.) Griselda may look Grace-Kelly beautiful, but her sharp, scolding fish-wife way of talking together with her blind obstinance--I've really had enough of our heroine in this one, and I expected I was going to adore her all the way through.
I love it that Alba and Elio have lasted as a couple. Elio is a character I would have liked to see more of on this show, and the show-runners could have done this through working him into other plotlines and exploring his relationships with his half-siblings. And by the way, shouldn't the actresses that play Alba and Beatriz have been cast as sisters (or perhaps mother and daughter)? They would have made very believable relatives.
For me, too much time was spent on some lame storylines (I could have done without Manuel, and ALL the time spent with TC and Ro, and TC and Jose, and TC and whoever), and not enough time to develop storylines for other characters I like.
In this tn, I would have liked to see more: Ivan and Paloma; Max and Clara; JP's evolution; a real evolution and maturation of Tony; romantic options for Simon and Gabe.
I don’t think we have a Wednesday recapper, so I decided to do a very brief one.
Amalia tells Gris that she thinks the reason Teresa Cristina went postal on Rei was because she found out at Rey Gourmet that Rei was walking her down the aisle.
As we suspected, Manuel is going to be part of Sol’s You Tube video.
Susana comes back to Fashion Motors pretending to be repentant and Iván, Mr. Softie, gives her back her job.
Rei drives Viewerville nuts some more insisting to Griselda the morning after the shooting that what TC did was an accident.
Quique is driving Quiquito to school and sees Fernando talking to Carla, the one who drugged him, in the street.
Clara comes to Fashion Motors and tears into Susana, telling her that the next time she comes into HER workplace, expect some punches!
Iris and Mario have given TC 3 sleeping pills and have her stashed at the posada. They don’t want Paloma to know she’s there.
Elsa tells Manuel and Ro that TC is gone and shows them drops of blood in the kitchen. They are Reinaldo’s, but the “staff” doesn’t know that.
Esther comes to Fina Estampa for her interview with Shitty Richard. Juan Pablo tells her that, just because he was forced to care for Victoria, he hasn’t changed his mind about the whole IVF being a big mistake. After Shitty Richard arrives, JP refuses to join the interview.
Shitty Richard asks why, if Esther wanted a baby, she didn’t adopt. In a very moving way she describes the experience of carrying a child. This doesn’t move the ball with SR. He says that the DNA makes the baby Beatriz’ baby. He goes on to say his conclusion is that the child is not hers, and that is what he’s going to write. She begs him, but JP tells her not to beg and throws SR out. Esther collapses, sobbing, in JP’s arms. Unfortunately, Gabe has come to Fina Estampa and sees them together. While outside, however, he manages to grab SR’s tape recording of the interview. When SR says he has it all in his memory, Gabe says that he has no proof of what was said, and Esther can say it all was a lie.
After Quique tells Griselda about seeing Fernando and Carla together, she goes to the beach with her llave inglesa (pipe wrench). She gets Fernando out of a volleyball game and confronts him. He tries to brazen it out. Iris has come to the beach to try to get Fernando away, and she and Barbie watch this confrontation. Fernando pushes Gris, and she bashes him a good one with the pipe wrench. He pushes her down and Barbie jumps him from behind. Gris then gives him a black eye and tells him he’ll end up in jail.
Iris and Mario have brought Fernando to the posada. He tells Teresa Cristina that Griselda knows everything.
Griselda and Bárbara talk at Casa José. B says she went after Fernando because she identified with Griselda. Gris then tells her there’s a good person and a bad person fighting for control inside Barbie, but she believes that the good one is winning.
TC tells Fernando that he’s the one responsible for everything that happened. He tells her that he thought she might say that eventually. He turns his back for a moment, turns on a pocket recorder. TC loudly proclaims that SHE ordered him to kill Quique, Amalia, and Antonio, and that it would have succeeded if she'd done it herself. We see that Fernando has it all recorded.
I find Griselda more difficult to watch every day. She really thinks she knows best!Confronting Fer is all nice and great, but won't that put him on notice, too?
Utah, I agree with you that Rei deserves better than Griselda. There has been no growth in her character - where is the fun in watching someone who always thinks they are right and above all others. Even now, when the dust has settled a bit, whe's still not willing to listen to Reai about those photos. And teh way she's going about TC threatening her kids is just too dump for words.
As much as I enjoyed seeing Gris whack Fer with her wrench and punch him, ITA that it was totally dumb and just put him on guard.
This stupid IVF story continues to bug me. Who the hell cares if it's some stupid reporter's opinion that a child born of IVF isn't the rightful child of the people who birth and raise them, but instead of the anonymous donor. First of all, that's idiotic. Second, the process totally normal and accepted worldwide. There is no debate about this. What the hell does Bea care about some crackpot journalist's opinion. This is just some stupid, contrived way to bring Ester and JP back together. Whatever.
Do we know how many more episodes?
Nice to see brief appearances by Paloma, Ivan and Clara last night.
Didn't we used to see so much more of these characters in the beginning? But for the life of me, after each episode lately, I can't remember where all the time was spent. You would think that if we were focusing more on our main characters, that there would be more plot movement.
But maybe this is more than just a problem with how the secondary characters are treated in the second half. (Although that's big enough.) Maybe instead it's that the second half has been devoted to "action" and the development of the TC against Griselda plot and little else. What they've ignored is relationships! Even the main one--we've been complaining of how little we see of Gris and Rei together. I do think some other TNs have indeed kept their heroine and hero broken up this long, but those other shows have teased us with passionate quarrels, with near-kisses, with regretted kisses, with near reconciliations. None of this for Gris and Rei--which why I was fearing that the showrunners really did have other destinies in mind for them. This awkwardness of "Oh, the man I've decided not to love will be walking my daughter down the aisle, and will our eyes meet?" should have already happened several time over in various forms--and instead it might, just might, happen almost at the very end, if it's not completely derailed by TC somehow.
ITA completely about the idiocy of the writers telling us that an article written by an ambulance chasing reporter could possibly have an influence on a legal decision about Esther keeping her baby. I still can't predict whether she'll end up with JP or Gabe. I'm rooting for Gabe. Even after caring for Victoria, he still maintained last night that Esther had made a mistake giving birth to her. How is that going to be forgiven?
I again thought Sonya Smith did a fine job in this scene. She didn't say much, but her facial expression and eyes welling up with tears said volumes.
In a conversation with Detective Ríos and Simón, Reinaldo insists he did the right thing by not pressing charges against TC. He insists the gun went off accidentally during a struggle and feels that TC with all her money can summon the best legal help so she can get off anyway. Reinaldo thinks they should wait for some more concrete proof of her crimes. Ríos agrees but advises him that he can’t watch someone who has disappeared. Ríos will do what he can legally. After he leaves Reinaldo gets a call from TC pretending to be concerned about him when it’s her own hide she’s concerned about. He tells her his injury was nothing serious, just a scratch. He also tells her he didn’t press charges against her. TC says that’s because he was the one who lost it and threatened her with a gun and that’s what she will tell the police. Reinaldo warns her to stay away from Pati, Gris and Gris’ family. If she doesn’t he himself will come after her.
At the posada Fernando complains about TC to Iris and Mario. “She thinks everyone is at her beck and call.” Iris and Mario laugh and try to decide if he’s an employee or a slave. Fernando warns the two of them that if they tell TC about his encounter with Gris he will accuse them of being TC’s accomplices. “But we haven’t done anything!” “You’re hiding TC. Admit it.” He gets up to leave when he is confronted by Paloma. She wants to know what business he has with her mother and what the fight on the beach with Gris and Babs was about. He refuses to tell and she asks him to collect his things and leave the posada.
Atty. Mónica Ramos visits Alba at her office. Alba has received a notice from Beatriz stating her intent to sue for damages.
Esther thanks JP for his support and says she should have never consented to that interview. She did it because she felt that Mendoza would never leave her in peace. JP says, “What’s done is done.” Marcia asks Esther if she is all right. “I survived. Has Gabe called?” Marcia tells her that he was there but he must have seen something that upset him because he left. Esther thinks back to hugging JP for his support. She tries to call him but he ignores the call. Clara comments to Beto that something must be up because Gabe would never ignore a call from Esther.
Sol calls Daniel because she is nervous about the video. FF>>
Ro has searched every corner of the house and cannot find any more evidence of what happened. Elsa says she didn’t hear anything because she was listening to music and had her earbuds in. Manuel wants to know why people disconnect themselves from the world. Ro says the important thing now is finding TC. Elsa thinks José took her away. The doorbell rings. It’s Vanesa who has come to get her monthly paycheck from TC. “She’s not here.”
TC has changed and has packed her bags. She tells Iris and Mario that she is going home because she can’t live in such small rooms. “I need air.” Iris tells her that leaving right now isn’t such a good idea. She should stay a while longer just in case. Mario tells her there is even less air in jail. TC says that all she did was shoot a gun accidentally and they can’t throw her in jail for that. “Besides, I know Reinaldo isn’t pressing charges.” iris tells her it could be a trap. “Why not send Mario out to check if the coast is clear? Remember the old saying, ‘Better safe than sorry.”
Babs is teary-eyed and lying her bed when José walks in, wearing a getup from the disco era of the 1970s. He brags that he is going to give TC some róbalo…no, THE róbalo. Babs is barely paying attention to him.
Detective Ríos visits the doctor who investigated the Marcela Cortes case at the hospital. “I need your help. I need to see the security tape that produced this picture [blond TC] as well as other tapes from the day the murder was committed.” “Unfortunately, security tapes are kept for only two months and then destroyed. But I have this habit of disobeying rules I don’t agree with.” “That means you have…” “I asked security to make me copies of all the tapes from that day. I don’t have them here but I can get them for you. I’ll let you know when I have them.”
Reinaldo thanks Simón for his support. He remarks that they now have a concern in common: Pati.
After Ro serves Vanesa a gourmet sandwich she informs him that she’s there to collect her money from TC…and she’s behind in her payments. “Money for what?” asks Pati. “Money you’re getting from my mother so you can continue your lie regarding my father?” Ro tries to say that TC has nothing to do with this. Vanesa says she doesn’t need anyone to defend her. And Pati says that Vanesa just needs to be “maintained” and that’s why she took up with JP and tried to get together with Reinaldo. She asks Ro to leave them alone. “I’m taking advantage of my mother’s absence to settle the score with you.” Meanwhile, at school, Antonio wonders where Pati is; her friend Helen doesn’t know.
Jethro can’t believe that Gris confronted Fernando at the beach. And he really can’t believe that Babs saved Gris from being hurt. Gris has changed her mind about Babs and tells Jethro that she is sincere when she says that she wants to be near their son. Deborah has been listening in the doorway and leaves. Gris looks up and notices her but doesn’t say anything. He recalls their last conversation. Deborah is devastated and tells Gigante that Jethro is going to go back to Babs.
Vanesa tries to leave but Pati says she isn’t going anywhere until she tells her the truth about what happened with her father. “The truth is out there on the Internet.” Pati doesn’t believe that nonsense and tries this tack: “I feel for you–your life could be in danger.” “What do you mean?” “When I tell my mother that I won’t come back to live with her unless you disappear from our lives…well she might just make that happen. She actually shot my father. You allied yourself with the wrong person.” This puts the fear of TC into Vanesa. “But I have a way out for you.” Pati doesn’t elaborate.
In TC’s kitchen Elsa watches Sol’s video on her phone. Ro and Manuel also watch and when Manuel sees what Bruno did about his interruption he faints dead away. Celeste and Sol watch it at their apartment; Celeste fears Manuel will have a heart attack. Pati and Vanesa have left so it’s up to Ro and Elsa to take care of Manuel. Elsa wants to call an ambulance but Ro thinks they should just bring him home. They each grab a leg and start pulling him out the door.
Pati goes to Gris’ office with Vanesa in tow. Gris wants to know why that “cualquiera” is there. Pati says she’s going to save her life. Gris doesn’t want her there but Pati asks her to listen to what Vanesa has to say. Just in case, Gris grabs her money wrench and puts it on the desk. Vanesa confesses that it was all a set up. “Reinaldo is asleep in all the pictures. I knew he had taken a sleeping pill and I was able to get into his room.” She remembers taking the pictures. “Reinaldo is a wonderful man and I wanted him to love me. But my dream has all been a lie.”
Babs has an attack of nerves and Elio wants to help her. She refuses his help. On the way to her room she looks at a home pregnancy test…positive!
Jethro tells Gigante that he needs to leave for a while. Though it’s none of his business he asks if he’s going to see Babs. He then tells him about Deborah.
Gris wonders how Vanesa could take advantage of someone like that. Vanesa says she thought that by doing this it would get her what she wanted. “But now I’m afraid I’ll die.” Pati explains: “When my mother found out what Vanesa did she offered her hush money every month to keep up the lie.” “And now the lie has been revealed.” Pati’s phone rings and she talks to Antonio. When she hangs up Vanesa goes on: “That’s what I wanted. Someone to care about me, call me “love” etc” Gris tells her that she needs a lot of love and understanding, but never lies.
Gabe ignores another call from Esther. She tells Victoria that she risked a lot to have her because the love between a mother and child is always constant. “It can get difficult, but it’s always there. You are my world and I’m yours.”
Ríos informs Reinaldo that he will have copies of the security tapes from the hospital. “We’ll see if there is a perfect crime.”
Jethro and Babs discuss her defending Gris at the beach. Babs tells him that people can change and that she is sure she has changed. And she is going to change physically as well. Jethro looks confused. Babs tells him she’s pregnant. “What does that have to do with me?” “Everything! You were the one who was so antsy that night. I asked you to use protection but you didn’t.”
José goes to see TC but Elsa tells him she’s not there. He orders her into the kitchen or else he will tell TC to fire her. Did anyone else get annoyed with the way he repeated “niña”? He goes upstairs and find the strong box that he had before.
Ro tells Celeste that Manuel had some sort of attack as a result of seeing Sol’s video. Manuel wakes up and when they mention the video he says he’s going to be sick again. At school it seems everyone is watching the video. Antonio says there have been 200,000 hits and at this rate it will top a million in one day. Daniel says Sol is famous.
Jethro demands that Babs take a DNA test. She is tired of being treated like dirt by Jethro and his family and announces that the baby is going to be born and will grow up without his father.
I sure hope Quique has been using protection with Deborah. Maybe Gris needs to have a safe sex talk with her kids, as all three of them have have lapses in judgement in that department recently!
thanks so much Sue,
there were quite a few little details I wasn't getting and you filled in the blanks nicely.
I have started to believe that really is Miguel Varoni's hair, or mostly his hair. Early on I thought it was a wig. They hinted that TC was going to "clean him up" at one point, and I expected a haircut. But in the big Telemundo Holiday video featuring all the novela actors, his hair was quite long, only straight.
Miguel having a fainting spell that appeared to last a half hour was pretty ridiculous.
I don't expect Fernando to be long for this world when (not if) he threatens TC with that recording of her out and out confession to murder.
They surely have dropped the ball on the Paloma/Iván story. So, tell us writers, does Carol really have cancer? She's seemed quite ambiguous. When Max was peeking at her surveying Iván's house, the message seemed to be she'd come back for a meal ticket. Then they almost seemed like she was trying to get Paloma to stay with him. Whatever.
I enjoyed Pati's strength in forcing Vanessa to tell Gris the truth. It's nice to see this actor as a nice person from the get-go after the brat she played in El Rostro de la Venganza.
I can't wait to see Gris grovel a little and I hope Rei doesn't forgive her too easily.
I am sure that IS MV's hair; at first I thought it was a very good wig, too, but then I saw the Christmas video and some Twitter photos where he appears with the "Jose" hair, only a little bit more groomed.
I too got a kick out of Patty being ruthless and basically threatening Vanessa with death unless she 'fessed up. "Tell the truth, or I'll tell my murderous mother I don't want you around."
As for Griselda, at this point I would really like her to grovel. Will either of them remember that just before she went all "It's on the Internet so it must be true" on him, he was mad at her for actually, literally, lying to him about the restaurant ownership?
Could we have a last-minute cameo by Silvia Navarro as a new character who sweeps Reinaldo off his feet? I know--she could play a half-Peruvian/half-Texan political scientist who's in Miami for a conference and stops in at Rei Gourmet for dinner with colleagues! (A little wish-fulfillment, there.)
