Por siempre mi amor #34 1/21/14: I didn't do it!
RECAP BY CORAZONSALVAJE:
We begin today with Art Dad and Aranza arguing and she then leaves to go wrap Esteban in her coils and they exit.
A scene with Ferno-no and Soni. This scene made me think Soni had half a heart since when Fernando had said he didn't give a funk about his kids, she looked as if she had felt something.
Lucha comes in to offer Art Dad coffee since he seems stressed out and he declines. Ater some chit chat, she suggests he go check out the hacked, chopped and destroyed crib.
Baby Shower with Tita and the chiccas! She comes in with a cake in the shape of a baby's bottom cuz you know, we wanna be reminded of butts when we're eating, much less something in the shape of it. They begin a game with toilet paper and wrap Isa with it(?) I don't really get that game LOL.
Art Dad is going to see the crib and he has a flashback to when Tita surprised him and Dead-genia with it. She had told AD's mom tres veradades and boom it was his (hers.) He seems really distressed. With a daughter whom is so easy to brainwash, who wouldn't be?
At Soni's clad pad, she brings some carrots with grapes (cuz you gotta eat good to do bad right!) and El Ruco is on vacation with the fam for a month so Ferny has all the time in the world (before that acme anvil falls and leaves him more bruised thjan his face already is.) He is exchanging cash from an account into his and Soni is turned on by this apparently LOL.
Bruno calls AD whom is in his office and things are prepared and he says baby shower in a rather sexy English voice. He goes to meet Brun for dinner.
Esteban is with 'Za
and they're discussing her wrongdoings. She begins to doubt he is on her side but he reassures her. Some talk about Isabel and that she was with Fernando.
GrandMean is talking with Gisela about going to play poker and that she depends on her offspring for cash (add Gisela to the anvil list) and Gise then says there are a million ways to leech money out of your kids.
Some more 'Za and Esteban. (He really does bring out the best in her. Too bad Soni plans on ruining that.)
Dinnertime with Marianela and Borlas whom brings Dante and the kids don't trust him (they got their eyes on him!)
Lucha and Gabino give the situation a piece fo their minds.
GrandMean's at home and Estebonbon comes and greets her. She gives a cynical snark and he ignores it. He ask about his dad's death and gMean says it can't be spoken of.
At the Baby Shower, it's time to open the gifts and the moment we've all been waiting for. First, Isa receives a blanket and then in the next gift, she shakes it a little and says it makes a sound. She opens it and it's a serpent!
Back to gMean and Estebonbon, she is telling him that it can't be spoken of even if he doubts damn Ferny dad is dead (aside from Isa, gMean, Gabs, Marianela, Borlas, Tita and Illeana, is Estebonbon really the only character with a brain or that we can tolerate in this novela?) However at breakfast she will speak with them tranquilos. He agrees and with a kiss, he's off.
Back with Dante, Mari and Borlas. The kids are brush their teeth and Dante offers to help with the dishes while one of the kids decides to help with laundry. Mari is off to the store and Dante snidely says he will hold down the fort. He asks if Mari is always with them and they respond with not always. Borlas comes in and sends those kids to brush. (Am I the only one who remembers Dante as Luisa's BF Ivan from Un Gancho al Corazon?) Dante comments on how those kids are hard working and he is surprised. B says they work around the whole house and D just snickers.
Tita comments back at the baby shower on who could do something so perverse? Isa just thanks the veterinarian neighbor and he says he will take the serpent away. Gabs comments that it was made with pure evil intention. But who? Tita asks again. Isa thanks Andrea for the party as Andrea leaves. We close the scene with the same question being asked as Isa begins to have a perfect idea who.
Brun and AD discuss that Nicolas had directly said he plans on marrying Gabs.
Isa is with the gals and she brings up whom she thinks had screwed her over.
A scene with Andrea and Mao disucssing the situation and Dead-nando.
AD is home and so is Isa. 'Za you little rat, your goose is cooked. As 'Za watchs from above, Isa blabs like the wind and he doesn't believe her.
More Borlas and Mari.
Andie and Mao argue.
A little arguing with AD and Isa and she goes ot the baby's room where she feels him kicking. Lucha comes in to help her and get relaxed.
'Za realizes she had nothing to do with the snake and goes to tell Art Dad.
A scene with Ally 'n' Brun to mix things up.
'Za then goes to the hotel where the party was held and gets a lovely photo and screencap of Soni in an obvious du'rag and shades giving the snake-filled gift. She holds onto the picture.
'Za goes to see Isa whom is relcutant at first but lets her in. 'Za tells her she didn't do it and is embarrassed. She has proof BTW and begs for forgiveness.

Za acted almost human by telling the truth to her dad but she should have come all the way clean and feshed up about Sucia being in the photo giving the gift. She should have some doubts about her Auntie Dearest but Sucia will brainwash her into thinking that the serpent gift was the right thing to do. Za's perdonames are wearing thin.

Yes, Ara came clean about the crib because Esteban told her too. Art asked her if she wouldn't have fessed up if Este hadn't told her to, and she didn't really answer him. In any case, he seemed more upset that she destroyed the crib, more than about how she lied about it later and tried to throw Isa under the bus. That's just as upsetting (if not more so) and I feel like Art let that slide and let her off the hook too easily.

Corazon thanks. Love the eating good to do bad snark. Ara's perdonames are wearing thin and she should be questioning her loyalty to Sucia if she's does something like send Isa a snake and not tell her beforehand since Ara always lets Sucia know beforehand what she's doing. Sucia basically threw her under the bus.

I love Mari and Dan as a couple-too bad dude is her uncle which means she's gonna have to be a housekeeper in her grandfather's house to find out. I think Dante is gonna do something shady with Mari, Borlas and the kids which will get the kids taken away and force Mari into working for her abuelo and find out the whole sordid story of her origins.

Vivi- I agree, Art's gauge on emphasizing what is important is off at times. It seems as if he doesn't like to make waves.
I get why he understands how Ara would feel so much hurt and rage about the crib that she would destroy it in a moment of madness (still says she needs some mental help). But it's just pure evil the way she lied and manipulated him later, and threw the blame on Isa. He shouldn't be able to understand or forgive that. Nothing she says to him from now on should be believed, and if he puts her words above Isa's one more time, Isa should smack him.
Oh yeah, Art should take everything Ara says with an amoeba level grain of salt. But what can he do other than kick her out of the house?
I think he should say she has to go to counseling with him and Isa or she has to leave the house. If he was willing to kick her out for being drunk, he should be really serious with her about his unacceptable the cuna fuga was. Isa should be scared for her criatura. Also, has he been told yet about the wedding dress and clothes damage?

Why are all the orphans wearing goofy hats?
In Manana es Para Siempre they let an incestuous relationship slide, because that couple was so perfect for each other-- Sniffles and Curls, we called them. They were first cousins and didn't find out about it till after they fell in love. Maybe the writers will let this one slide too. (??) Can't wait to see Padre and Cuca's faces when they find out though.
First-cousin marriages are legal in Mexico and in most of the US. The genetic risk for the next generation isn't as high as anyone thinks.
Not that this makes it a good idea. Over multiple generations it could be devastating.

Besides, isn't Dan only Mari's step-uncle? Dan is related to Mari because he and Sonia have the same mom? Do we know Dan and Sonia have the same mother, though, or are they true step sibs in the Brady Bunch sense-they don't share blood but are parented by a common parent? An example of this I recall is that in La Patrona Ale and Valentina were parented by Antonia but weren't blood related since Antonia didn't have a child with her second husband who was Valentina's father. So we have to clear up if Sonia's mother is Daniel's mother to clear Mari from being a relative to Daniel. I hope this makes sense.

Gil married Sonia's mom was she was a little girl. Sonia is significantly older than Daniel. Unless Gil married yet another woman after Sonia's mother died, then she and Dan are half sibs.
Anyone else notice how Meanie had her bad knee crossed over her other leg, and was bouncing it around, until she heard the door open and Este walked in. Then she put her bad leg down and started rubbing her knee. LOL! She also offered to tell Este the truth, only if he takes her out for breakfast the next morning. What a user. I hope Mau and Andy find out about the gambling before the mobsters come after their family to collect on Meanie's debt.
Gringo- Art said to Isa that he couldn't accuse Ara about the crib thing without proof. And he just could not believe that Ara would do something as evil as the snake in the box. That's what he and Isa were arguing about. Isa was clearly ticked off and said they better stop the argument before they both said something they regret. I'm just glad that Art didn't bring up that Ara accused HER of destroying the crib, and that he considered it. He would have really been in the dog house then!
Sonia's mom would have still been a relatively young woman when she died when Dan was a baby/little boy.
The only viable option for Sonia and Daniel not being blood siblings would be if Sonia's mom and Gil adopted Daniel. That makes more sense that Gill marrying and losing yet another wife after Sonia's mom died. So let's hope Dan is adopted.

Yes Ara's perdonames are wearing very thin. As many have noted, she is really pushing the envelop regarding redemption. At least she hasn't killed anyone unlike So-not and Feo. Unfortunately that could be a matter of time.

Is it at all possible that Cuca jumped to the wrong conclusion and that Mari is NOT Sonia's after all? Seems like a simple solution...which is probably why it's not possible.
Re Mari and Dan, there is also the possibility that Gilberto was a widowed father before he married Sonia's mother.

When Dan was a little boy, Ara's age, Sonia was already a grown woman, able to be his mother. If Gil became her stepfather when she was a little girl, which has been mentioned a few times, there is no way that Dan could have already been born. He could not have existed before Gil married Sonia's mom. Either there was a wife after Sonia's mom; Gil had a lover and Dan is their love child; Sonia's mom and Gil adopted Dan; or Mari is not Sonia's child. These are the only ways that there would not be a blood tie between Dan and Mari.
Off topic to this but OMG Silvia Navrro will probably be in La Malquerida alongside Jorge Salinas! I hope they don't flanderize her character.
