TELEMUNDO Y MÁS: THE FRONT PAGE -- La Reina del Sur, La Impostora, et cetera. Week of January 13, 2014.

La Impostora, a new telenovela starring Christian Bach, Sebastián Zurita and Lisette Morelos and filmed in and around Acapulco premieres tomorrow,  Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 8pm/7c, the time slot currently occupied by Marido en Alquiler.

It will be sharing THE FRONT PAGE with La Reina del Sur.  Please post your recaps and comments about the new telenovela, La Impostora, on this page.

Reminder:
Since two novelas will be sharing a single page, please remember to label your comments with the name of the show you are discussing.  If you add the day of the week, you get bonus points.

Example:

La Impostora, Tuesday
You can tell Telemundo is really trying when it goes for a sense of place...

or:

La Reina del Sur, Wednesday
Pote shows his absolute loyalty to Teresa when he...

Thanks, all!  Have a great week!  And remember, tonight's Marido finale is two hours long, so there is no Reina del Sur today.

La Impostora Pre-martes
Thanks NovelaMaven! I watched the first 20 minutes of this online and I am looking forward to it. I've never seen Christian Bach in anything, but several Telemunderos have said she was great in La Patrona.

Another reason I'm liking Telemundo TNs is that they let Manuel Landeta keep his bald head.

Reina,

links for this week,

no show on Monday

our Tuesday show should be the Thursday show on the old link
http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2011/04/el-mundo-de-telemundo-week-of-april-18.html

and our Wednesday show should be the Monday show, on a new link,
http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2011/04/el-mundo-de-telemundo-week-of-april-25.html

our Tuesday show should be 39 out of 63, "Atracción desmedida".

on Friday, didn't the new photographer call Teresa,
the Mexican Queen of the south of Spain,
shortened to "La Reina del Sur"

La Impostora

Do we have a volunteer to recap the first episode? I'll be doing the Marido final and would not be up for two nights in a row.

Et cetera

I take it Avenida Brasil is to be filed under "et cetera"? There must be a few Carayites out there who are watching this for the first time, as I am. I would love to discuss it with someone.

What a boneheaded move on Telemundo's part to put this on at noon. I'm recording it but I just discovered it's on my On Demand.

I don't like that it's dubbed in Spanish. I would rather hear the actual actors' voices and have subtitles. Telemundo did that with the original "El Clon" and I found it distracting.

So, if anyone is interested, I'm game! My recapping days are over so no summaries unless someone else wants to write them.

Avenida Brasil, seg.*

I'm dying to know how Mama Lucinda is connected with all this. I get the feeling that not only is she trying to get Nina to stop her plans for revenge but she is also trying to keep the truth from coming out, whatever that is. Carmina told her before that "she was in this up to her neck."

As a culinary professional, I had to laugh when Max told Nina that she talked liked a lady. He would say the same thing about me! In spite of this, kitchens in general are not the most genteel places to work.

*seg. = segunda-feira, Monday in Portuguese.

Terça-feira, Tuesday
Quarta-feira, Wednesday
Quinta-feira, Thursday
Sexta-feira, Friday

Saturday and Sunday are the same as Spanish, sábado and domingo.

REINA

Deb:

Yes, indeed that photog thought up that name, La Reina del Sur,for Teresa right on the spot, as she was leaving police headquarters. And thanks so much again for the links to the recaps. They are so helpful.

Avenida Brasil

Sue 455:

I have been glancing at Avenida Brasil too.

I felt bad for poor little Rita when she worked in the dump but liked Mama Lucinda. She really took care of Rita.

I like how Rita now Nina is back, but I worry her venganza is going to overwhelm her. I am glad she is helping Carmina's daughter though, Carmina constantly ignores the poor child but Nina was honest with her.

I can't stand how Carmina has been getting away with the cons all these years, and I'm glad Jorgito left the house. Good for him! That's hitting her where it hurts. Especially when he said she wasn't his Moms. That was really good. She needs to suffer.

La impostora Pre-martes

I will wait for the telenovela, I am very excited, but I have already seen the full 1st cap. It is on the youtube in 5 part, but in not too good quality. I am not writing anything about it until it is not showed in TM officialy.

But if somebody would love, I can share this link here.

And finally, I don't like Christian Bach, I think she has "wood-face", but it doesn't matter when a TN is so exciting.

AVENIDA BRASIL Terca-fiera

I only saw parts of this, but Carmina is so jealous of Nina and her being such a great chef. Every meal time Nina is complimented on everything she makes, Carmina is over the top jealous. In Carmina's household she gets all the attention y punto! I am glad that Nina is such a great chef. It's a shame Sisa? ruined her bacala dish. And the humiliation Carmina put Nina through at 3:00AM was horrid. I am glad that Jorgito put a stop to that, and told Tufao all about it too.

Glad Nina now knows who Jorgito really is, but how will this effect her revenge. Now the poor thing has to kow tow to Carmina in order to keep her job.

I didn't like that that kid spilled to Lucinda's rival about who Nina really is, that she is really Rita. I wouldn't put it past the guy to use it.

Carlos is a pill, really! How many women has he got anyways. I had to laugh at the wife going thru his things when he was sleeping, finding out that info and going to confront the amante in the pharmacy. Too funny.

Isn't it funny how Max is taking up for Nina? I find that funny really. If he knew who she really was, hmmmmm.....

Avenida Brasil

I am watching this too, and it's really good. Only the first episode had English captions; what happened?

OMG... that Carlos... how does he get away with having all those women?

Avenida Brasil, Terça-feira

Wow! That scene with Carmina and Nina at 3:20 AM. Still una bruja after all these years.

I'm very confused about ages. Rita was school-age but she looked very young. She was able to tell her father the details of Carmina's plan. How old is Nina supposed to be? I'm guessing around 20? I find it hard to believe that she was running a restaurant kitchen at such a young age.

Carmina's gift to Verónica made me think of those pink flamingo lawn ornaments. Griselda had one at her old house on Marido.

OK Nilo. What are you up to?

La Impostora
I'm definitely watching this. Great first episode. Here's what I got (without benefit of captioning):

Raquel Altamira is the reptilian matriarch and owner of a shipyard in financial trouble. Has three sons. One, Eduardo (?), a widower, has just returned to the family mansion with his young daughter.

Raquel's father seems to be a likeable old fellow, but these two have a nasty secret of some kind.

On the others side of town lives the humble family of Blanca. She and Eduardo meet at the Altamira's New Year's Eve party, but she is masked, and he doesn't know who she is.

Blanca's father has worked in the Altamira shipyard for years, but Raquel and her father speculate he may have blabbed some family secrets about the death of Raquel's sister. Blanca's dad is later run down by Raquel's hitman and clings to life in the hospital.

We also see a woman involved with gun-running criminals, and, to save her life, she promises to gain them access to the Altamira's biggest ship for their smuggling activities.

Meanwhile, Bald guy (Manuel Landeta) crashes the Altamira party, accuses the family of murdering Raquel's sister...the love of his life. He has plenty of financial resources and threatens to call in the police to prove her death was a homicide.

Finally (and I'm skipping over the murder of the little girls puppy), the crime-woman shows up at the mansion and...voila! It's Eduardo's wife, whom everyone thought was dead.

Backfilling is needed, so feel free to pitch in!

AVENIDA BRASIL

Sue 455:

I too want to know how old Nina is. She has got to be a couple, three years younger than Jorgito I think.

So Nilo is the other guy's name, the one at the dump? What a jerk he is.

I like laughing at Carlos cause the guy isn't good looking in the slightest is he? Too funny he has all these women just hanging all over him.

I also liked the advice that Nina gave to Carmina's little girl, about decorating her room. Go to your Papa she said. Good for her. I hope they do an end run around Carmina. Carmina is vile.

Shallowgal:

I don't know about the captions. I just listen and get the gist of what is being said.

REINA Martes

So glad that Teresa hired Pote. He'll make a great bodyguard, and I like the way she is letting him get close to her slowly. Good idea on her part. Still don't like Teo. I'm glad that Oleg warned her and Patti again too. She went ahead and slept with him anyway though. It's funny she thought of El Guero while that was going on. Hmmmmmm........... I really don't think this is the same as that relationship or Santiago either. I think it's just she has her needs.

That Siso will not give up the revenge. He wants to kill Teresa with his bare hands, good luck with that. Now that she has the Italians in her pocket what is left for the Pernas? I did feel very sorry for Xavi's widow. She is so young and with a bebe to boot.

Oleg is really fed up with Patti and she better watch her step. Now that Willy's secret weapon has been deployed, Veronica, Patti looks like she is falling hard for her.

Flores is like Martin. He wanted to know the secret weapon too. I can see why Martin is pithed. The department there has spent all that money and they don't want Willy to get all the glory.

Epifanio had that nightmare. I wouldn't put it past Ratas to do something like that. I hate that sssss noise Ratas makes, it's like a rat looking for food. Blech.

Can't wait till tomorrow to see what happens next.

La Impostora-martes
Haven't watched yet....the puppy gets killed?! :( I hate when animals get hurt/killed just to prove someone is villainous.

LA IMPOSTORA

Haven't watched, yet, but I'll give this a chance for at least a week to see if I like it. I don't particularly fancy the galan, but I do like Lisette Morelos, so I want to see her as a lead.
I might be down for some recaps, too, bullet points style, if Fridays are available.
But I'm not sure, yet, since I haven't even started watching.

LA IMPOSTORA

Oh, and, a big THANK YOU to J in Oregon for getting this started.

LA IMPOSTORA
I just finished watching. This is gonna be gooood!!!
Meant to say that "reptilian matriarch" is a great description. That is one cold blooded lady.

La Impostora

J in Oregon thanks excellent.

Why did Blanca jump in to assist Bald guy? Did Blanca just crash the party too?

Raquel - Ugh. I'll get you my pretty and your little dog too

Looks good so far

J in Oregon, many thanks for the recap. It helped me with some things I didn't understand, such as what crime-woman is up to.

Tofie, yes, Blanca crashed the party too. I think she wanted to talk to reptile woman's father (who used to be head of the shipyard) about the fact that reptile woman had fired Blanca's father earlier that day after he had worked for the company for many years. She pleaded with Señor Altamira to reinstate her father. Her efforts succeeded, but mostly because the Altamiras (father and reptile daughter) wanted to ensure that Blanca's father remain loyal to them and not reveal anything about what had really happened to reptile woman's sister or the sister's child. However, reptile woman wasn't content to leave it at that: she ordered one of her thugs to get rid of Blanca's father permanently.

Impostura

Oops, I forgot to put Impostura at the top of my previous post. I've gotten spoiled having separate sections for Marido, Reina, and Santa.

As is apparent from my earlier post, I watched La Impostura last night. It held my interest pretty well, and since Santa Diabla is now (mercifully) in capítulos culminantes, I may try to continue with La Impostura and Santa. I wish my Spanish were good enough to do recaps, but it's not.

La Impostora
You understood a lot, Juanita!!!

What time frame does Telemundo mean when they say "capítulos cuminantes"? (I'm trying to keep up with 5 right now and having one less would be nice. I can't seem to give up any of them!)

LA IMPOSTORA

Thanks Juanita, makes sense she would do that and guess the first attempt on Blanca's father was at the ship yard and Eduardo pushed him out of harms way.

Blanca - quite the resourceful girl

Bald/Revenge guy - so he tracked Blanca down and then followed her with little info to go on. Liked it when he confronted her with all her different persona's

Edwardo has a video and thought Blanca provided some information to his daughter. Did she?

La impostora:

I loved first cap of LI. Raquel Altamira is another Antonia Guerra, and she had an another right hand like there Macario, here Espinoza with scarred eye. And here is another sanatorium, where was Valentina, Raquel's sister. Raquel is the same cruel like Guerra was.

And did you notice this, one of the Altamira boys (Jorge - Mauricio Henao) was there, when Blanca were singing. So, how will she be the impostor?

LA IMPOSTORA

AlejoP -I did notice Henao in that karaoke scene.... hmmmmm.

I'll be watching for the 1st couple of weeks if only for the eye-candies (Zurita, Islas, Henao). I really don't like C Bach.

AVENIDA BRASIL Quarta-feira

I missed a lot today, but don't like whatever that guy's name is doing to Tessa. The poor thing is terrified and if he can't have her no one can.

Had to laugh at Carlos, going to the Antro and telling his wife, married till death do us part, and practically dragging her home. I'm glad she said she knew about his amantes.

Glad Nina saved Jorgito from his sleepwalking incident. Apparently he used to have them when he was little. He didn't do it at the landfill, maybe after Carmina adopted him. I liked the talk that Nina and Jorgito had on the way back to the house.

Carmina is way over the top. Max and his boat, lol. Hated that she thought Nina had kidnapped Jorgito and accused Nina of being a thief and a murderer? Really, the girl is like what less than 100lbs soaking wet? Carmina changed her tune mighty quick when she found out what really had gone on. Maybe she has a heart, but only for Jorgito.

I like how Jorgito, and Carmina's daughter (still don't know her name) came to the kitchen and thanked Nina for the dinner. Jorgito and the compliments too about how she could be the chef at a chi chi place in Rio and Carmina's daughter wants to be a chef just like Nina. Nina has to watch her step though with Carmina so didn't encourage much conversation. I'm glad the other lady told her to get some rest. That's about all I saw. Can't wait for tomorrow to see what else happens.

AVENIDA GENERAL

What is this running theme with Marie Antoinette in this story? Tufao was reading some book and Carmina could care less, is it "A Tale of Two Cities" maybe? He happened to mention the guillotine too, more than once.

La Impostora
Oopsie, almost forgot: Bald/Revenge Guy just learned that his sweetie (Raquel's sister) had his baby before she died. But Raquel hushed it up and told Blanca's daddy to take the baby and put it up for adoption. (Anybody want to guess that he took the baby home instead?) And now, Bald/Revenge Guy wants to talk to Blanca's Dad to find out what he knows about the baby's whereabouts. BRG (Bald/Revenge Guy) also wants to hire Blanca to infiltrate the Altamira family to learn what really happened to his sweetie.
J in Oregon

BRG is named Adriano, but BRG is faster and more in point. He's already my favorite.

LA IMPOSTORA
Sorry. Forgot to label that last one.

LA IMPOSTORA

I'm just guessing here. If Blanca turns out to be Adriano's and Valentina's biological child, wouldn't that make her 1st cousins with Eduardo?

Is Eduardo the oldest child? Could he be the long lost child? I love that we already have a little mystery.

That last one was LA IMPOSTORA. So sorry everyone.

La impostora

I am thinking a lot, who might be the lost child. I am sure, he or she have been already among the characters. I don't believe he would be Eduardo, because he is the 'hijo preferido'. If the lost is one of the boys, perhaps Cristobal, because Raquel doesn't show much love towards, she has only not to kind words to him.
But it would be very interesting if Blanca was the mysterious child.
I am waiting the plus info in the following and following episodes. :)

It was a good beginning with the eternal love and new year's kiss. :) I liked. :)

LA IMPOSTORA

It was pretty good. I sort of find Christian Bach playing the exact same character as she played in La Patrona annoying. In La Patrona she became the boss after killing off two husbands. In this one she became the boss when her father retired. But - level of evilness - the same.

Alejo, the woman in the sanitarium that Raquel threatened was not, I believe, Valentina the missing sister and lover or wife of Adriano. That was some woman (servant?) who knew the truth about what really happened to Valentina and her child.

Adriano (BRG) said he was somehow having Valentina dug up and an impartial autopsy done on her. So it really appears she IS dead. The missing child could be Blanca. Don Memo, now in a coma, knows something about the child. I suppose he could have agreed, all those years ago, to take the baby and raise it. They haven't said who Blanca's parents are, or if they did I missed it. Somehow, I don't think that's the answer and can't really say why I feel that way.

Nice to have so many commenters on this new novela.

This comment has been removed by the author.

LA IMPOSTORA
AlejoP- I sort of had the same misgiving since Eduardo is the "preferred child", but I was thinking maybe Raquel was jealous of everything Valentina had and that's why she took her baby and raised him as her own.

Is that too weird?

LA IMPOSTORA

OOh goody my head already hurts trying to put it all together

LA IMPOSTORA

Sara - unless I misunderstood, supposedly, they gave the baby to Memo, to 'dispose' of.

Avenida Brasil Quarta-feira

Madelaine: Tufão was reading a work by Franz Kafka. I've never read any of his works so I'm not familiar with him. I had to look him up in Wikipedia and from this description, I can see how Nina would be interested in this particular author:

"Most of his works, such as "Die Verwandlung" ("The Metamorphosis"), Der Prozess (The Trial), and Das Schloss (The Castle), are filled with the themes and archetypes of alienation, physical and psychological brutality, parent–child conflict, characters on a terrifying quest, labyrinths of bureaucracy, and mystical transformations."

Tufão became interested in Marie-Antoinette because Nina served a dish that was associated with her. After dinner he started reading one of Ágata's history books for more information about her and he discovered that she was guillotined.

I also loved the talk between Jorgito and Nina. I thought their wedding at the landfill was pretty silly but it cemented their friendship.

Does Carmina dress in anything besides white?

Carlos is a hypocrite. He doesn't believe in open marriage but it's OK for him to lead a double life. How has he done it for so long? He was married to both Veronica and Noemia when the show started and it's now 12 years later. And he juggles Alexia too.

***I only saw one hour today, the second hour was La Impostora which I'm not watching. Does anyone know if this is a permanent thing?

***I'm working on a list of main characters and their relationships. There is one at Telenovela World but it's in Portuguese.

La impostora,

Sara, Novelera: It's funny, because I didn't see that link up to now. :D Only I saw the 1st cap on Sunday in youtube in bad quality and I misunderstood the scene, because I don't speak Spanish, just I understand enough well lot things in TN Spanish. Only understanding not speaking. :D And today when I watch again with CC in TM page, I realized it was not good that I heard. But now Sara shows the link. :D :D

I tend to complicate the TN Lines, because I search everywhere the turns.

Sara: your thought about the preferred boy, you might have true, not unreasonable. We have already known that Vale was the younger sister, but we don't know, who is the eldest boy, and I don't know that it matters or not for us.

I am waiting the meeting of Mariana and Raquel do not know what kind of welcome she will get. :)

LA IMPOSTORA
AlejoP said "unless I misunderstood, supposedly, they gave the baby to Memo, to 'dispose' of.

I would have to re-watch it. I watched it this morning...but I was still waking up so I missed fine details. I know that BRG found out there was Memo was the last to see the child.

LA IMPOSTORA
I just rewatched the scene. Memo was put in charge of the baby to put it up for adoption...so yeah, Raquel would not have taken charge of the baby. So Eduardo is probably out.

LA IMPOSTORA:

Novelera and Sara: Yes, Christian Bach is playing the exact same character in this as she did in La Patrona; the only difference is that Antonia Guerra was blonde and Raquel Altamira is a brunette.

Vain, haughty, snazzy dresser: check.

She has a skeevy sort of handsome henchman/sicarro: In LP he's called Macario; in LI: Espinoza/Tuerto.

She has sons she henpecks/manipulates: In LP: Alejandro and Fernando. In LI she has Jorge, Eduardo and Cristobal.

I'm surprised Christian Bach is allowing herself to be typecast like this but I still like LI so far. It is a bit confusing to keep up with all the characters but big casts like this mean big drama and secrets.

The guy who plays Adriano looks like the humpback dude from CI, iirc and I think he's handsome in this.

AVENIDA BRASIL General

Sue 455:

Thank you so much about the book that Tufao is reading and also about Carlos. I thought the wife he now has looked a mite younger than the previous one(s) lol. He's a putz and not very good looking at all.

Please, please put the list up if you can. I am confused about some of the characters. There were so very many in the beginning I couldn't keep them all straight, but I have the main ones down.

Carmina does wear a lot of white doesn't she? And it doesn't help with her coloring either, although today she had on a white outfit with gold shot throughout. She used to wear blue a lot, when she was married to Rita's Papa. I did notice that. Maybe she thinks white washes out her sins so to speak.

I checked my cable guide and Avenida Brasil will only be one hour the rest of this week, noon to 1pm. They are showing La Impostora the second hour. Starting Monday though, it is back to two hours of Avenida.

LA IMPOSTORA
Yes, J. That is Teo from CI. IMO is is an incredibly handsome man and I'm glad I'm getting to se him in a suits and tuxedos kind of role....and bald!

La Impostora Wednesday

The second was also a great episode.

TM doesn't make a big secret from Alpha Acosta's character, in the opening credit we can see she is really Valentina. The opening is simple, but not bad. That's true the song is not the best, but listenable.
I would have liked, if the education of Blanca had been a bit funnier by Domingo, but the end of the capitulo I liked. I thought at fist, the girl with back of Viewerville is Blanca, but she wasn't and arrived a bit later.
I am sure Jorge doesn't learn at the university, he is always in Tita's restaurant.
For me the only one who I dislike is Rafa, the character of Uriel del Toro.

LA IMPOSTORA
I haven't finished the episode yet, but Cap 2 is good too. Mariana is going to be trouble; so will Blanca's sister (what is her name?)

Is Rafa (Uriel del Toro) the same actor who was some ranch hand on LQNPA?? He's definitely sketchy.

Blanca made a little speech to her dad about the story he used to tell her about some orphan? I didn't catch it all. Was that a hint?

I can't wait to finish watching this. I wish I had more time in the mornings.

My TN addiction is getting out of control. ;-)

REINA Martes

Deb, thanks again for the links. They add immeasurably to my understanding and enjoyment of this TN.

I think it's just she has her needs.

Madelaine, ITA. I don't think Teresa is that into Teo. It struck though when she said she missed feeling protected by a man. Oleg is protecting her, albeit without the luvin. Even if Teo is true blue, I think he's the type that would protect himself first above all.

Loved Pote's first day on his new job. He was so cute in his new ranchero duds, but he does stand out from the corporate look of the company. I wondered if Teresa would have a style makeover for him, but I guess the bottomline is that his clothes are comfortable for him and his Colt.

So Epifanio's got a secret that he fears Ratas would kill him over. That's seems to have come out of nowhere. I'll have to watch Epifanio more closely when he's talking to Ratas' mother.

La impostora, wednesday

Sara: Blanca's sister's name is Simona. It may be only my imagination, but sometimes I see something bad in Simona's eye, as if it would be envy.

Yes, Rafa is Uriel de Toro from LQNPA.

I didn't feel that it would be a hint. He told about an orphan girl in an orphage, when the girl will grow up, she needs to leave and she will have to step out into the big world. Now Blanca feels herself among such conditions with her new job. I think it was a general cautionary tale.

AVENIDA BRASIL GENERAL

Sue 455:

Thank you, thank you for putting that list up. Now maybe I can keep these characters straight : )

Carmina is Jorgito's bio Mama, que????? Who is the daddy? Max??? I didn't know that. I am glad he isn't like her though.

REINA Mericoles

What an interesting episode this was. Now Willy's secret weapon is deployed, namely Veronica. No way no how does an undercover agent sleep with the enemy so to speak. It is what is called the "fruit of the poisonous tree", in other words all evidence is tainted by this action. Novelera you were so right in your comments. Agents are expected to do a lot of things but that is one thing they cannot do.

So Teo is married! I missed that before, either Oleg telling her or maybe Patti. I'm glad she met the wife, and what a beyotch that woman is. The wife was dissing Teresa right and left.

So Patty and Teresa are getting into arguments, and it was funny how Teresa had those flashbacks. Patty is taking great risks though. I think Patty is seeing Veronica as a replacement or almost exact replica of Teresa, as the comments said when this first aired. So agree.

I think all the cops are going to have a falling out over this Teresa case. Willy does want some type of glory, after his failed attempt at getting Epifanio, and not getting that agenda, Flores wants Teresa cause he hates her. It will be interesting to see where this goes. I was shocked, I tell you shocked that Flores went and saw Oleg. Now that was interesting.

Pote does look out of place but he is a stand up guy to stand up to those photographers and I like how Teresa is trusting him more and more. I like Pote for some reason. He is a no nonsense sort of guy and very loyal.

Neice:

I too wonder what this secret is about Ratas. I too will be watching closely to see what this is all about. Epifanio is a very many layered type of man.

LA IMPOSTORA

Sara - you're not the only one afflicted with TN addiction. ay Dios mio! I am currently following 5, on top of the Good Wife, Intelligence, etc. I have only always seen Manuel Landeta as bald and beautiful in other tns.

AlejoP - I too noticed that Simona may be envious of Blanca, although she seemed excited for her when she saw how handsome Eduardo is.

The actress playing Mariana is as annoying as she was in Rosa Diamante, albeit physically beautiful.

I wonder what Jorge is up to? it was funny when his mom said he smelled like 'pobre.'

La Impostora
Shallowgal, yah that was funny, 'cause Raquel said the "pobre" smell was like "French fries and cheap meat".
When Domingo BRG *Adriano* told Domingo that he didn't think Blanca would be able to carry off the Impostora role, and he was concerned for her safety if Raquel should discover the deception, Domingo said "Oh, you're worried about her...like a daughter".
Zinnnnggggg!!!!

LA IMPOSTORA

Add me to the list of people who think Blanca is Adriano's daughter. There was that little snippet of scene when she was thanking her father for rescuing her off the street or at least that's what I thought I heard.

The one sister does seem a bit envious and I'm afraid too many people know something that could get Blanca in big trouble. I'm still trying to sort out relationships on this one but it is moving at a pretty good clip which I wonder can be maintained.

I love Christian Bach and too wonder why take a role so similar at least at this point to Antonia. Perhaps the kind of roles of women of a certain age are offered just don't appeal to her, the long suffering mother, the nosy, meddling mother. Evil you can sink you teeth into as an actress.

Shallowgirl - don't know how you can manage five. I chose to bail on Para Siempre - boring characters all around, but am sticking with this one and Pobre plus the upcoming Olympics and the usual stuff. My DVR is already on overload. Hats off to you girl!

LA IMPOSTORA

J in Oregon. I wondered if Adriano(BRG) was Blanca's father.

Mariana - rocking bod

Loved it when Blanca (Victoria) stepped in and introduced her "assistant" then herself. Girl will be able to pull it off so don't worry Adriano

Could Jorge be Adriano's son?

AVENIDA BRASIL Quinta-feira

Brief Summary Part 1:

Nina goes to Mama Lucinda and is afraid that Nilo will out her to Carmina, but Lucinda tells her not to worry. Nina and Lucinda also talk about Jorgito and that Nina may be in love with him. Lucinda wants her to pursue him, but Nina won't since he has a girlfriend.

Leleco goes to Roger's apt. to look for Tessalina and busts the door down. Roger has a knife to Tessalina's throat and threatens to hurt her, he thinks Leleco is her amante. Leleco hits him but Roger is younger and stronger and starts the smack down on him, but Tessa takes a vase, smashes it on Roger's head and he twists, runs right over the balcony falling. Leleco and Tessa think he's dead, but he's alive and can't feel his legs. Roger accuses them of trying to kill him, the cops hear this, Tessa denies it and Leleco ends up in jail. Later his wife Muricy calls asking where he is, but he doesn't want her to know he is in jail and makes up a story. She thinks he's cheating on her.

Nilo goes ballistic on the kids when he finds his TV broken. He rants and raves and has a cow chasing the kids all over the landfill and finally gives up and hitches a ride on a garbage truck. He's got a plan.

Muricy looks for Leleco and finds out from one of the guys that he is in jail. She goes there and accuses Tessa of being Leleco's amante. Tessa sets her straight about how Leleco is a gentleman and saved her, but Muricy is all about the cheating Leleco.

Nilo ends up at Carmina's drunk as a skunk and jumps in the pool. The one maid tries to chase him out with the broom, but goes and gets Carmina. Nilo loudly calls her his daughter, and when he sees Max he calls him son. They do know Nilo, Carmina claims he's her godfather, who fell into alcoholism which she tells the rest of the family. He's invited in to eat by Tifon. So he goes in the kitchen with Carmina and Max and enjoys some food while giving them hell. Nina is listening behind a door to all that is said.

AVENIDA BRASIL Quinta-feira

Summary Part 2:

Max and Carmina are not Nilo's children, but he had a hand in raising them, I don't know if they were landfill children too. He wants a piece of what they have, he's into the blackmail, but Carmina tells him he gets her expensive watch and 500 reals. Carmina tells him that's all he gets and never come back. Yeah, that's gonna work. Well he is full of his good meal and is about to go, when he says he has some really good info for them (it's about Rita/Nina) but they don't know that. He wants 200 reals more, but they aren't buying. He goes and Nina breathes a sigh of relief he didn't out her.

Leleco gets out of jail and Muricy reads him the riot act about having an amante, she does this in front of the whole family, and he's so sick of her jealousy, he tells her, you want a divorce, give me the papers, I'll sign on the dotted line. She regrets it cause she thinks she's stepped over the line.

Jorgito's fiancé Debora is Carlos and Veronica's daughter. They are having dinner and Jorgito flashes back to Nina saving his life. He really is into her.

Nilo takes his ill gotten gains and goes to a bar and orders wine and something else. The waiter doesn't want to serve him cause of the clothes and general state he is in, but stupid Nilo flashes the cash at the waiter, and another guy at the bar sees and keeps an eye on Nilo. Later, Nilo, drunk as a skunk again, leaves the bar and that guy follows.

Nina gets roped into shopping with Carmina. Carmina is trying on lingerie and five finger discounts something. Nina sees it and can't believe it. Carmina goes and pays for everything except the piece she stuffed into her purse. As Nina and Carmina leave the store, the alarm goes off and Carmina thinks its absurd it should be going off, she's rich after all. The security guard isn't buying it and wants to look in her bag. She is loudly protesting when Nina says she did it. She stuffed something in Carmina's purse. End of epi!

LA IMPOSTORA
shallowgirl-I'm glad I am not alone. Maybe we should start a support group. LOL

Why do they put Christian Bach in such horrid wigs? She in naturally gorgeous. Why the wigs?

TELEMUNDO
deb-thanks for that info. I'm chomping at the bit for En Otra Piel as well. That it's replacing Reina will be a problem. That will make 6 I'm trying to keep up with. Oh well, MPV is ending in February and hopefully Santa Diabla will be next. Camelia la Tejana doesn't interest me since it's a narco novela. I'm screwed if DQTQTQ shows up in the afternoon or after MPV. LOL

La Impostora

Please let me join the growing crowd for this one. After Marido ended, I wasn't sure if I could take another one with the same level of writing and acting (sorry JS).

It only took 15 min. of LaImp and that beso to get me hooked. Otherwise, it seems like a few twists laid down over a typical tn storyline--Rich crooked people, poor decent people and secrets and two goodlooking protagonistas.

I'm IN.

Did someone say the credits show that the woman in the sanitarium is Valentina? If so, poor Adriano, he'll have a hard time digging her up.

I've never seen Christian Bach in anything, but I'm already tired of her bangs that pretty much obscure her eyes, albeit evil ones no less.

Yes, if Raquel is so heartless as to have her own granddaughter's little dog dispatched, she's capable of anything. I think we are meant to take that as a given--Cruella McAltamira (I've already decided to call her enterprise the Raquel Cartel).

LA IMPOSTORA
I love your wit Anita. I'm glad you are IN. I like "Raquel Cartel."

How long is Gramps Altamira expected to be around? I can't fathom his making it to the fin. He wants to be involved asks Raquel questions. She's not going to put up with that for long.

LA IMPOSTORA

Anita I too love "Raquel Cartel" and hooked already.

Gotta get used to all the beefcake though (haven't seen too many shirtless in both CI and now Por Siempre, my entries into TN world).

I've seen lots of good looking men but not many women, though the friend of Blancas keeping her brother is a cute girl.

Don't know how Blanca is going to pull off working for a US company and can't speak English

Avenida Brasil

I'm really enjoying Avenida Brasil. I was put off by the 2 hour time slot and didn't gjve it a glimpse until this week. Now I am hooked and in the process of catching up.

Madelaine, it was revealed that both Jorgito and Ágata are Carmina and Max's biological children. Nina thinks Ágata is her half sister, which explains the special attention she gives her.

Josie

La impostora

Sara: The wig is needed, b/c without wig, she would be totally same like Antonia Guerra is LP, her character is as a clone. So the appearance of the two character is a little different.

Anita: yeah, I said that the Valentina name is next to Alpha Acosta in the credits.

And one of my friends noticed, the kiss during the firework is so similar to La patrona's firework in 43. capitulo there. The camera setup was the same by the reunion of heroes (Ale and Veronica).

LA IMPOSTORA
Alejo, I totally agree about the similarity between the LI scene and LP. I was a big LP fan and I noticed all the similarities between it and LI in the first EP. I'm still gonna keep up with it though and not follow Pobres. I love TM tns' cinematography and I love the characters in this already. And I love Christian Bach as evil. It takes her a bit to get comfy in the role, though. In LP in the first EP she was shaky and overacted-when she said to poncia that she was the new patrona-but by the third cap she's fully in. Her wigs were awful in LP too until the end when it was her hair.

Since we're talking about the similarities between LP and LI, and the galan from LP, Jorge Luis Pila, will be a antagonist in En Otro Piel. I found an article that basically explained why the galan in LP had a brain transplant from strong to weak. Jorge said the LP writers did not flesh out his character, which is strange to me since he was a protag, and everyone else was consistent with their character. Here's the link.

http://www.latinospost.com/articles/24434/20130726/telemundos-jorge-luis-pila-exclusive-interview-consequence-life.htm

It always bothered me and everyone else how weak his Alejandro became when he showed up strong, though I never doubted his love for the prota. He had the same issues and talked to the Telemundo execs about it.

LA IMPOSTORA
Thanks for the info about the wig, AlejoP

I'm kind of glad I didn't watch LP yet since it sounds similar to LI.

tofie-I'm very used to the beefcake. Sebastian is a hottie. And a normal looking one. I'm probably the only person on the planet who does not find Sebastian Rulli super hot. He's cute, but his beefcake doesn't look right to me.

I kind of wish BRG would get a shirtless scene....

LA IMPOSTORA
Clarification: Sebastian Zurita is a hottie.

Avenida Brasil, Quinta

Well I already have to alter the character list:

Nilo, Max's father, Lucinda's rival for workers who treats the children badly. Has connection with Carmina (other than Max?)

Josie: When Carmina went to get Batata at the landfill it was revealed that she and Max are his parents. When was this revealed about Ágata? Nina commented that Ágata looked like someone she knew which I assume was Genésio. So she could very well be Nina's half sister.

Nilo was robbed by the guy who followed him. HA! You're not getting a new TV!

Oh, how is Nina going to get out of this? Of course Carmina will be grateful that Nina took the fall for her.

Reina

Really love Pote & he looks so "Mexican". Definitely Teresa's protector & they have that Mex camaraderie.

In the book, we knew of Teo's wife & kids, but I don't think Teresa met them. Oleg is also married with a child or 2.

Sara, you're not the only one who doesn't find Sebastian rulli attractive. He does nothing for me and i don't get his appeal either, but then again I like me mestizo-looking, darker-skinned/dark-hair galans-Jaime Camiil, Jorge Salinas, Eduardo Yanez, David Zepeda, Jorge Luis Pila are my type-so I'm biased. I can usually appreciate other people's tastes, but rulli and colunga's appeal baffle me.

LA IMPOSTORA
Excellent list, J. I would also add the actor who plays Piero, Diego Olivero and Marcelo Cordoba.

Costuming note-- I am fascinated by Christian Bach's and Mariana's lingerie. No we haven't seen it, but we haven't seen bulges or panty lines or anything.... And the dresses they wear are painted on. I guess it makes me sound like a weirdo but I am fascinated by their completely smooth appearance.

LA IMPOSTORA
Oh the shenanigans and secrets!!!! There are so many ways this impostora plan can go south and I want a front row seat.

Just so everyone is clear: Eduardo does not like lying liars and fakers.

Rafa is smart as hell.

REINA Miércoles

Madelaine and Variopinta, I like Pote too. He’s become one of my favorites. He looked especially sharp in this episode taking care of the paparazzi.

Well, male viewers got a long, slow pan of Patty and Teresa 2 intertwined in bed, but when are female viewers going to get some hunkalicious again? But I’m shocked that Veronica went all the way. Madelaine, agree with all you said.

Glad Teresa ran into Teo’s family cause maybe this will put a damper on her feelings. But I do like that Teo was offended by his wife’s insults about immigration that were obviously directed at Teresa. I think his feelings for Teresa are genuine, but I just don’t care for him.

AVENIDA GENERAL

I didn't think that Max was Nilo's son cause he kept denying it. I remember Nilo, when his TV, got broken was going on and on about his son betraying him. I can't wait to see some backstory here. When he confronted Carmina at her own home, it seemed as if he had a hand in her upbringing.

I can see why Nina thinks Agatha may be her half sister. Carmina became pregnant just before Nina's Papa died, and Carmina found out she was preggers, almost right after he died. So I can see why Nina thinks that. I am glad that Nina treats her well. Her own Mama doesn't.

Avenida: Carmina said she was pregnant by Max but will tell Tufao it's Geneseo's in order to make him feel worst for killing Geneseo. She may be wrong but she and Max believe Agata is theirs. Of course, Nina thinks Agatha is her half-sister.
La Reina: Teo is a snake. I won't say more not to spoil it. I saw the show the first time.

Sara

LA IMPOSTORA

I would add to the list of hot hunks Diego Soldano who played opposite Christian Bach in LP. Very hot and like some of the others Rulli and Colunga don't do it for me, never had. One is a pretty boy and sorry to say the other gives off a gay vibe to me shrug.

Love JLP and he if a fantastic actor will like checking him out as an antagonist.

LI has lots of places for Adriano's plan to go awry. Nosy sister, Jorge knowing the barrio folks, Eduardo now facing Blanca, that dude with Ed's wife. There are going to have to be a boat load of lies to keep things going.

AVENIDA BRASIL

I haven´t posted on anything for months, because I haven´t been watching any novelas, but I came in on the last few weeks of Avenida Brasil here in South America. You all are in for a treat. This telenovela has captivated millions. In my currentlocale, families get together and watch it at night. When "La Novela" time comes around, folks drop everything to watch.

I can´t post anymore, otherwise there would be spoilers, so I will just encourage you to keep watching.

Enjoy the ride!

@Alejop: I don't want to be unpleasant, but your comment below:

"TM doesn't make a big secret from Alpha Acosta's character, in the opening credit we can see she is really Valentina."

was a spoiler for me. I don't see much point in watching the rest of the novela, based on the whole plot revolving around finding Adriano's child, if everyone on the blog has assured me that Valentina is alive and Blanca is her child.

La Impostora, thursday

Novelera: Sorry for I ruined your show, but I don't feel myself guilty, because...
1, I didn't read ahead anywhere
2, I didn't search spoiler pictures on social network,
3, it is a premiere in the world.
I wrote it, that I saw, and I guess everybody - who watch this exciting TN - could see in the opening credit. And in my opinion that is in the "entrada", it is not spoiler. I interpret so the notion of spoiler.

The lost child: nobody knows who is he or she. These are only simple speculations. Somebody feels that she is Blanca, somebody not. Only tips.

On the other parts ITA with Sara

Capitulo3: Mariana is a very dangerous woman with the guns. I was convinced she kills Rafa, but doesn't. She also said openly, she isn't intereted in Sofia.
I am very angry for Simona, they are not rich, but she shouldn't wish her father's death. She should trust in Blanca, but she has the worst thoughts: Simona thinks Blanca is a prostitute.
What was the best: Eduardo knows that Jorge isn't on the medical university, and during the dinner Eduardo confronted with Raquel. As best suprise was Fernanda's moving to Jorge's digs.
I don't know among this circumstances how long Blanca can be the impostor.

GENERAL

The rule around here is this:

If something hasn't happened in an episode already aired, we don't talk about it here.

That means we don't talk about stuff in promos or previews or even -- weirdly enough -- in opening credits.

We do this out of courtesy. Some folks really enjoy the story as it unfolds on the screen. They absolutely don't want to know about events or revelations -- major or minor -- ahead of time.

I know it's a little different on the Univision pages of this blog where we routinely discuss "avances." But some time back, people around here felt that Telemundo itself was giving too much away. So we don't do previews or promos here.

I'm glad to see all of you here and hope you will feel good about sharing your thoughts on your favorite shows. It's fine to GUESS what may be ahead. That is part of the game.

Enjoy!

AVENIDA BRASIL, Sexta-feira

Nina is winning Carmina over. Remember how Carmina used to laugh with Max after she put on one of her fine acting performances for Genésio and then Tufão? Nina is just as good. Docile Nina looked like she wanted to strangle Carmina when she went to give her a message.

And now Jorgito realizes that Nina is Rita. They could double team Carmina!

I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around the fact that Tessalia is in love with Leleco. He did let her down easy. But I think Muricy's attitude is going to push them together. I'm not looking forward to that.

I'd like to lock Suelen and Carmina in a room together. Who would emerge victorious?

AVENIDA BRASIL Sexta-feira

This was a really good epi today. I couldn't believe that Nina took the fall for Carmina, still kept her job, and went to make lunch for Jorgito, of course with Carmina in tow. I really like the way Nina and Jorgito have bonded. And now he knows she is really Rita. I like the way he went to make sure it was really Rita. First the doll, then talking to the kids and then the picture. I want to see how he lets her know he knows who she really is.

I too couldn't wrap my mind around Tessalia and Leleco either. He is so way older than her. I did like how he put her down easy. That was very sweet of him and I liked how he said he was a one woman man, despite what Muricy thinks. I didn't like when she showed up and was nasty to Tessalia.

I had to laugh at Muricy taking English lessons. Her accent is good, but the sentences were funny. Where is the nearest Fashion Mall? Too funny.

I also liked how Nina went to Lucinda and poured her heart out to her. She is like her Mama.

I can't wait for Monday or should I say Seg.-feira to find out what Jorgito is going to do.

REINA Viernes

This was a great episode too. Teo gets almost whacked, they are all trying to figure out who did it.

I thought Teresa's tech guy had fallen down on the job, but nopis, he did catch the tapping of Patti's cell phone and fixed that right quick.

Eugenia is a hyena. She was nasty to everyone and I am glad that Patti put her in her place. Now Eugenia is seeing the dollar signs. I wonder how long she can shield her little girls from finding out what happened to their Papa. At least she is keeping them occupied by taking them to Euro-Disney.

I was surprised that Teresa went and confronted Oleg that way. She did apologize, but I never really thought Oleg ordered that hit on Teo. No way would he do that without consulting her or at least telling her why it had to be done.

Now Willy is on my last nerve along with Flores. Flores getting all in Veronica's face, who is she, blah, blah, then Willy blows her cover to Flores and now Flores knows she is the secret weapon. She was really concerned about Patti being hurt. Hmmmmmm, could she be falling for Patti? Also Willy and his demand with the passport. Well, if he does want her to get close to Teresa as he says, then she needs a more valid one than she has. Teresa does travel a bit. Willy is a fool if he thinks that Teresa conducts all her bidnez in Spain. I'm beginning to think that Willy is more obsessed with Teresa than Flores was.

And Slick Eddy, who knew? Fooled Teresa the first time shame on him, fooled Teresa the second time shame on her. I wonder how she will handle this one?

Can't wait for Monday to find out.

LA IMPOSTORA

I didn't expect to like this tn that much, but me likey mucho mucho, por ahora.

I was on pins and needles, what with Blanca trying to evade Eduardo, Jorge, then her sister when Simona showed up at the Altamira house. Then there's Rafa, trying to kill his childhood friend Blanca; even though we know it's not gonna happen.

I find C Bach's acting not as over as in LP, which is good.

I love Zurita's low key acting, and his character; loving sensible father, understanding sibling, and non-too-agreeable son. And hopefully, his attraction to "Victoria San Marino" is a slow burn.

oooh.... and Jorge in love with his best friend's girl... classic.

As for Adriano, you would think he had developed a concrete plan after all these years, esp with his healthy financial status, but he's sort of doing things on the fly.

Pobre Cristobal, constantly being put down by his own mother. He seems really sweet. I hope that doesn't change, and I hope they don't make him too dumb to not see through Mariana. ugh, his girlfriend (the actress) was Begona's friend in Rosa Diamante.

LA IMPOSTORA

Sebastian has had exceptionally good training in one of the best acting studios in the US and he has inherited the family talent. I find him vey interesting to watch. When he is not in scenes with his mother he looks a lot like his dad but when he and Christian are side by side it is obvious she is his mother, same face shape and same beautiful eyes.

This show is clicking on all cylinders for me. Very twisting story lines and relationships between the characters. People who seem bad like Rafa apparently aren't . He is trying to warn Blanca. Don't like Simona who is jealous and vindictive and can get people killed.

Now that Raquel is having Memo's family checked into things could go bad for them fast.

I too wonder how Blanca can keep up the act. Actually she could claim it is just one of those coincidences with a look alike, everyone has one. Or just laugh it off and carry on.

La Impostora

Decie--I did think it was a bit ludicrous for us to believe Rafa did not recognize Victoria as his childhood friend when she turned, if heavily applied lipstick and cute dress were the only distinguishing characteristics. Did he not shoot her because he didn't recognize her or he did?

She never changed her hairstyle at all and he didn't seem to recognize the Victoria part of her when he saw her come back from her "cruise." Could it be that he only notices things about Blanca from the neck down? Maybe it's just that his radar isn't working.

Adriano promised Blanca she would be Victoria during the day but she could spend every night back in the barrio as Blanca.

That means they have to go to the extreme to keep Jorge from ever seeing her as Victoria (unless he's as blind as Rafa).

At the very end of the epi, there was some timeline confusion for me. (I'll need to do some rewatching.) Ramon's photo exhibit had already opened to the public. Blanca didn't make it as Blanca and Eduardo finally came to see it, but didn't find Blanca there (another case of love is blind?).

Then we find Adriano fretting over Eduardo seeing all the photos of Blanca all over the walls of the exhibit. Isn't it already too late? Why does he need to collect all the photos of Blanca from the collection, when Eduardo has already met her as both B & V?

I really thought Raquel would have her "way" with Memo. I was sure the nurse would leave when she said she was his jefe and only came to see how he was doing.

Good for the nurse. But they should know now that he can never be left alone. It's such a tn convention to have a person who has a secret to be in a coma, helpless, in case they need him later on, but still be vulnerable for would-be-killers if they decide to move the story along without him. I hope Memo recovers enough to get his bandages off and maybe the breathing and feeding tubes removed.

So we've had a couple of attempts on Memo's life by the Raquel Cartel, but no body count we have seen, EXCEPT for the dog. I'm sure there will be plenty piled up outside her door before this tn is over.

Simona slipped out of that corner regarding the fake emergency text very deftly. She's no dummy, only jealous.

What is the younger brother's name? Isn't Memo a little old to have a 9 year old? He seemed to me to be ready to retire when I first saw him. So Simona and the boy are full siblings, but Blanca was a foundling raised by Memo--and she's the oldest of the trio?

AlejoP: I watched the opening credits very carefully last night. I didn't see Alpha Acosta's name next to any specific character. It was just listed with others. However, I've never seen her in anything, so maybe you recognized her character.

In any case, I'm with NovelaMaven as to revelations, even if they come from opening credits. I made the error just once mentioning something that came straight from the description in Caray Caray of the characters. I was cautioned right away. So, mum's the word and we'll all live happily together until the end.

The other thing that might bear repeating for new watchers and commenters. Remember the West Coast broadcasts episodes later, so refrain from mentioning action until well after it's shown. That doesn't apply to folks who watch later or the next day--that's their choice.

Respectfully,
Anita

Anita

The cast list does mention Alpha Acosta and her character which isn't unusual in novelas but in this one could be a spoiler. She starred opposite Arturo Peniche in Morelia paying the part that Zuria Vega did in Refugio.

At this point we are all guessing about Bianca which when I think of about it is a big red herring because that would make her and Ed first cousins which is pretty much of a no no even for TN's who often match up second or third cousins.

I will say that for a first week they did and outstanding job of introducing a load of characters and plot twists.

La Impostora

Ok, you guys, after watching the first episode after it aired, I didn't want to stick with this tn, because, to be honest, I don't like any of the leads too much. Lisette Morelos is ok, but Sebastian Zurita is so not my type.

The 3 things I keep in mind when deciding if I watch a tn or not:
1. Hot galan - S. Zurita does nothing for me
2. Smoking chemistry betweeb the leads (very much tied to no.1) - have only watched an episode, that first kiss didn't tell me much
3. A twisted plot - that never was a good enough reason for me until Santa Diabla, because, well... have you seen the crazy going on in that one?

Anyway, long story short, your enthusiasm has made me decide to give this one more chance, so I've decided to binge watch the rest of this week's episodes, see how I like it.
Just so you know, I'm not happy with thsi decision, because I was supposed to take it down a notch with my telenovela watching. If I like this and I keep watching, I'll have only all of you to blame.

Back later, with my resolution :)

La Impostora

Adriana Noel: You don't realize, or maybe can't admit it, but you are a true blue, long-suffering telenovela addict (and you've been watching many more years than a lot of us have).

I hope you stick with LI, because you have such wonderful insight into the characters' personalities and ulterior motives -- and a point of view not too many of us stateside have. For me it's standard fare, but little Sofia is a joy to watch, she's not annoying and I don't need anything else right now that taxes my mind. (I just finished Marido with you, finished Entre el Amor y el Odio, trying to catch up with El Privilegio; started FELS, Pasion, and Cuando Seas Mia [thanks, whoever mentioned it somewhere else]; watching LQLVMR, LI, and want to finish up on-line, Dama y Obrero [the Chilean version], Esmeralda and Alondra.

Please don't tell me to get a life. This is my life now (improving my Spanish, ha ha).

NovelaMaven: thanks the rules! I did not know this is a bit different block within CarayCaray. I am trying to keep rules from now. :)
Fortunately I did not write about avance exclusive until now. :)

Capitulo 4.

Team Blanca stopped a liitle, b/c there are many problems any they don't know what to do. I referred to this earlier I don't know how she can stay a credible impostor among this circumstances so long. Just she escaped through the bathroom window of Ramon, Simona appeared by Altamira's, and she said, her sister is an impostor. And Ramon will have an exhibition, where photos will be about Blanca, and if Eduardo notice this, Blanca will be in trouble. If this wouldn't be enough, Jorge want to move home. I love the way the writers twist this story.

In the meantime Raquel tried to kill Memo in the hopital like Guerra killed Espino in La Patrona, but now Raquel did not use wig. Yeah and she sent Espinoza/Tuerto to learn more about Memo's children. It is another source of danger. Buti f it is not enough, Mariana want to see dead Blanca, but Rafa was not able to do this.

Well, it’s the time I lose. Yesterday I felt something between Fernanda and Jorge, but the writers decided they do a love triangle with Ramon, Karina and Jorge, which I like specifically. Meaningful action plot with the secondary characters. I feel quite pronunced, not just simply waste of time/filling element.

I love Victoria’s behaviour. She is kept a mysterious, cryptic woman. Suddenly she needed to run away, escape, hide or she apperad not on the arranged place. The relationship with Eduardo is interesting, very sympathetic with Sofia, but she had a gaffe by Eduardo, when she gave the lipstick to Sofia, though Blanca wiped of fit later.

Anita: your observetion is right, but in the 2nd capitulo there were the ominous name. Check it, here the link, the accurate time: 32:44 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiIo9z8VYqI
I think this opening credit theme can be considered as closed, and concentrate on the daily actions.

Comment 95 to La Impostora, Friday! I forgot to write there.

La Impostora
Love the show, but but am already suffering from bed-spin as I try to remember who knows what about whom. Aaaaacckkk!!!
Anita: are you on a mission to watch all those older novelas? How is that working? I watched El Privilegio years ago, also FELS, that was a classic!
Thanks, AlejoP, for the summary.
Can someone remind me how Rafa got involved with Mariana in the first place? Isn't he the son of Dona Tita, the restaurant owner?
J in Oregon

J in Oregon!

Yes, Rafa is the son of Dona Tita. In the 1st capitulo when Mariana Serrano arrived from Madrid to Acapulco, she noticed she is followed by men of Richie, and she run in Dona Tita's restaurant, and she said Rafa, those people followed her. After, Rafa took Mariana to the Mansion Altamira and after the unsuccessful meeting with Eduardo, he helped to find a hotel for Mariana.

And one question: what was happened on the beach between Jorge and Karina. Sex or only kissing, b/c they were not naked and shirtless, but their talking let me conclude more than simple kissing.

J in Oregon--Call it OCD. A few months ago I got DVR. I laughed at my daughter because hers is constantly filled to 99%. Then I see all these great old tns being rebroadcast and I "have" to have them. In no time, my DVR has filled up to 55%, no kidding! Can't watch them fast enough, especially the ones in 2-hr chunks.

Rafa is either Tita's son or an employee in the restaurant--more likely the son. Pity, already I can't remember how Mariana got her hooks into Rafa. Seems to me she came to the restaurant looking for Blanca, but I could be thinking of another tn, ha ha.

AlejoP: Glad you are paying attention vis a vis Rafa and Mariana. Spot on.

We jumped right from a kiss inside to sitting on the sand. I think it was probably just heavy petting for the first time they are together. She did take her shoes off (not exactly first base, though).

Perdoname--I keep forgetting we are sharing this page with La Reina. The last 3 comments are for La Impostora readers.

La Impostora

Ramon - I saw before the make out session your girl Katrina was into Jorge, feel bad for you. Katrina crawls all over him and she now won't even give you a proper kiss. Glorified cheating bothers me so this TN may not be for me

Memo - come on move the guy again and give Blanca some excuse since you'll keep that attempt on his life a secret

Rachel - well we know who wears the pants

Mariana - yuck

Christobal - Mariana will eat you and spit out the bones.

Simona - really a waste of oxygen

Sofia - best of the bunch, good luck

Eduardo - I just am having a hard time taking him serious. Know he is hot and all but he lives with his mom

Rafa - dumb clown

Adrino's son would be how old now?

La Impostora

Tofi--Great one-line assessments of our characters. I would have to write paragraphs to get the same effect.

When Adriano stepped off the plane in Acapulco, he said it had been 20 years and he was back to find out what had happened to "el amor de mi vida," Valentina. He was sure she had been assassinated. He blamed Raquel and Leonidas for separating them.

He didn't know he had a child until Soccorro told him--and she didn't know if it was a boy or a girl, but the more they say HIJO, the more they are going to be surprised if HE becomes an HIJA (my guess). That child would have to be 20-21 (kind of too young for Eduardo to be an established business man with enterprises to run outside of Mexico--but stranger things have happened in tns--Alejandro in Sortilegio was left to run a huge enterprise while he was still very, very young. Again, my guess it is NOT Eduardo.)

It is not clear (unless I missed it) whether Adriano was married to Valentina, so her getting pregnant by Adriano unmarried may be part of the family secret as to why they removed Valentina from the family hearth and home (another old-fashioned tn convention, but ni modo, on with the story).

See? Just can't do it in one line.

La Impostora

Tofi--
No one answered your question from early on. I know it's been nagging at you, so here is what I remember.

You said, "Eduardo has a video and thought Blanca provided some information to his daughter. Did she?"

Eduardo and Sofia were reviewing the security tapes from the New Year's Eve party. They both were interested in finding out who Blanca was and where she came from.

I think they were hoping to catch a glimpse of her without her mask. It was only later when Sofia showed him the pen she used to write the note when they were in the gazebo that Eddie knew how to start tracking her down for sure (since the airplane message didn't bring a reply).

La Impostora,

thanks so much Anita. So Blanca could be his child. I also heard granddad say Raquel doesn't love her children the same and always belittles Christobal. While he is naive and not a shark something seems odd there too.

La Impostora

Tofie--
I think Raquel wanted a son in her own image and likeness, i.e. ruthless and full of bravado and self-confidence. She settled for Eduardo, who at least has a head for business, but none of the ruthlessness. She tolerates Jorge because he's "studying" to be a doctor but poor Cristobal has none of those attributes.

Neither of the younger boys have "la espina" to stand up to mother. Jorge is hiding his true avocation and Cristobal is just going along to get along, but not very good at it. At least he's goodlooking and has snagged a beautiful novia.

LA IMPOSTORA

I don't know if Adriano was married to Valentina, it hasn't come up that I remember.

I don't know if Leo knows Val is still alive or not and why Raquel who seems to have few feelings for anything hasn't bothered to have her killed. I can only guess that she takes pleasure in tormenting her sister and maybe killing your sister goes against even her grain. I certainly don't think Chris is Adriano's son because I don't think Raquel could have pulled that off without someone noticing and I would think she would treat him even worse than she does. Than again she is perverse so who knows and it is WAY too soon for us to find out.

LA IMPOSTORA

This TN is just like La Patrona with a few adjustments. I was a big LP fan so I'm good with that. I do love though that there are four possibilities of just who is Adriano's child. Any one of Raquel's kids or Blanca/Victoria. It could even be Ramon since he's an orphan.

I think it could be one of Raq sons because the child would still be blood relative-her nephew.

This TN is just like La Patrona with a few adjustments. --> ITA with J desde NYC, therefore I love it. Until now the 4th episode was the best.

I love watching that Eduardo is the preferred boy, but he is the only one who is not afraid to confront with theirs mom.

I knoe Lisette Morelos is older than Seba Zurita in the real life, but is it so in the TN or isn't?

And what did Adriano do in the past "20" years?

La Impostora

AlejoP:
Adriano was away making money. He would now be considered Nouveau Riche with Class and Clout.

He made a comment earlier that one of the reasons the family separated him and Valentina was that he had no money and was not of their social position.

Thanks, Anita!

too Berryn

LA IMPOSTORA
Wait, which one is Ramon?

Ramon is Karina's boyfriend. He's the one who had the photography exhibit;Jorge is also in love with his girlfriend Karina. When Eduardo went over to Jorge's to see Blanca, Ramon and Karina were the ones that showed him where.

LA IMPOSTORA
Ah yes. Now I remember. Thanks.

Yep, Oleg is far to controlled to let his feelings for Teresa allow him to make a foolish business decision by killing Teo. In a way, since Oleg can't go there with Teresa, her having a dud of boyfriend like Teo should suit Oleg. Now if she were involved as passionately as she was with Santiago, then Oleg would really have to marshall his self-control.

But does Teresa feel something stronger for Oleg than what she's showing? That's what I want to know.

Madelaine, I loved Patty sticking it to Teo's wife at the hospital too. The girl gets an "A" in insultology.

Eddie was an idiot trying to stiff his hired guns on their pay. Serves him right that they beat his a$$. I laughed when he muttered to himself some crap about not doing business with moros again. No idea what will happen, but Eddie is not smart enough for the game he's playing.

I know everybody hates Flores and Willy. They are crossing the line to get Teresa, but I understand. She's made them look like idiots. Maybe in a way they're not giving Veronica her due is them treating Teresa 2 the way they'd like to control Teresa. Also, if someone had sent photos of my kids as a threat the way Teresa did to Flores in the past, I'd see her as Public Enemy No. 1 too.

LA IMPOSTORA

"The Woman in the Sanatorium" has been bothering me for some time. After reviewing the first episode, I decided to expand it to cover all things about Valentina and have figured out (duh) that in this tn:
Most Everything is Really About Valentina

Here goes. And there are no spoilers. It was all taken verbatim from the dialog in the first two episodes (with a little descriptive prose to go with it).

Epi #1 – Raquel doesn't seem to have been bothered by her family “secrets” for 20 years. Until, that is, Adriano Ferrer shows up and on New Year’s Eve, at HER party, publicly accuses her and her family of assassinating Valentina, the love of his life. That gets her radar going again. [Actually, I take that back. Probably every once in a while, she has tried to kill Memo Guerrera, who could “out” her.] The most recent incident was the afternoon of December 31 when a truck at the dock comes out of nowhere and tries to run him down. Luckily, Eduardo Altamira, Raquel’s eldest son, has just returned from being out of the country and has come to greet his father’s old friend, Memo, and saves his life by pushing him out of the way.

Raquel calls for her henchman, Espinoza, and orders him to finish the job and while he’s at it, dispose of her granddaughter’s little dog. He promises he will. Espinoza tries again. This time he does run over Memo, right in front of Blanca. He’s severely injured and taken to a private hospital where he lies in a coma.

Raquel is then seen getting out of her black SUV outside of a building. She’s on the phone complaining to someone that the job wasn’t finished. She tells the person on the other end of the phone, “If that man wakes up, I’m going to be pithed.”

A doctor and a nurse with a clipboard approach and greet Raquel by name. He says her phone call surprised and offended him. She answers right back that what surprises her is his attitude. As they walk toward the entrance, we eavesdrop on their conversation.

R – Remember, Leticia is not to see anybody.
Nurse – I think it would do her a lot of good to see her family.
R – Mind your own business and please leave us alone. (Nursie leaves)

Raquel then tells the doc to fire the nurse and reminds him before he can protest, that she is the major stockholder in this facility.

Doc opens the door to one of the rooms and we see a hospital-gown-clad, rather unkempt, very sad and listless woman lying in bed, doing nothing. She is probably about Raquel’s age or older. He calls her by name, “Leticia, you have a visitor.”

When Leticia turns towards Raquel, she sees who it is, pulls the covers up to her chin and starts to say, “No, no.” Raquel tells the Doc to beat it.

Raquel warns her to be quiet and listen up—carefully.

R – Adriano has returned and is making some serious accusations against me.
L – Adriano returned?
R – Yes, and I think Memo Guerrero has been talking too much. I want you to keep silent [quedate muy calladita]. You know what will happen if you talk. The child [el hijo] of Adriano and Valentina could pay the consequences. Now, repeat after me. Valentina died in an accident.
L – No, no
R – Repeat it, I tell you.
L – Valentina died in an accident.
R – Adriano’s accusations were published in the newspaper. So, if the Doc or the nurse ask you anything, you are to say nothing. Because, if you talk, I WILL KILL YOU.

We in the Telemundo Irreal community are left to conclude that the woman in the bed:
1. Knows Raquel and has for some years
2. Is being kept there, possibly sedated, on Raquel’s orders
2. Is not allowed visitors, on Raquel’s orders
3. Knows Memo
4. Knows Adriano was “away”
5. Knows there was a child belonging to Valentina and Adriano
6. Knows the child is alive (segun Raquel)

Let’s agree to leave it there and let the story unfold. I’m sure we’ll meet Leticia again.

LA IMPOSTORA

Epi#2 - Raquel is sitting in the stern of a yacht talking to some silver-haired, silver-tongued, very suave dude. Apparently they do business together, but this meeting is not about their business dealings. Raquel is asking him for a big favor, in return for a big compensation. He’s all ears. She wants Valentina’s body dug up. She needs to put to rest all the accusations that Adriano has made. Everybody knows Valentina died in an accident. She doesn’t want any lingering doubts. Suave Dude says if that’s the case, why the secrecy? It’s not for him to ask, just help. If he can’t, then there’s no compensation. Then she calls him Mi Gobernador. [Ed. We can’t surmise whether he is really the governor of the state or an honorific, like Licenciado.]

We are left to conclude that:
1. Raquel & Suave Dude are in business together
2. He appears to have some clout to get things done officially (exhumations)
3. He is aware of who Adriano is, since Raquel didn’t have to explain
4. He knew who Valentina was, because Raquel didn’t have to explain her relationship to her

Epi #2 – Continued. Raquel and Leonidas are on their way by plane to Mexico, D.F. Leonidas asks why Raquel didn’t tell him Memo was in a coma. She says she didn’t want to make him sad.

Leo – I’m hoping you didn’t have anything to do with it [Memo’s accident].
Raq – How can you say that, Daddy?
Leo – I’m hoping that your desire to cover up the truth isn’t turning you into an assassin.

We are left to conclude that Leonidas:
Knows Memo plays an integral part in keeping the truth [i.e. the secrets] from coming to light.

If this has been helpful to clarify some of the events pertaining to Valentia, I will try to keep it up in future episodes.

Anita, I got all this from the eps, but this is really helpful to clarify things. Thank you. I think Leticia=Valentina since her interest was piqued by Adriano's return.

La Impostora

My weekend got a little complicated, so I'm still an episode short of catching up, but I think I'll have more time this afternoon.

In the meantime, I can say that I kind of like the story and I might stick with it, after all. I LOVED Blanca's attitude after Adriano fired her - the girl is a fighter. I'm really enjoying the actress in this story, she doesn't come off as the victim who is forced to impersonate someone else, she really has a mind of her own and is rather savy.
The way she makes up stuff and does it in a believable way, makes me smile, because I used to invent all type of silly stories when I was in college. So, if I were a telenovela character, I believe I would be a Blanca.

About Sebastian Zurita - I still don't like his face, but, OMG THAT BODY! He's not too hairy, too buff or too skinny, he's just RIGHT!

Anita, I AM an addict when it comes to tns, there is no doubt in my head about that. And yes, I did see all the shows you are currently watching. Once you finish some of these, might I suggest La Mentira? Cuando me enamoro is its remake, maybe you've seen it, but LM is really worth the time. Promise!

Adriano's child should be about 20, judging by how long he's been gone. I do believe Blanca is slightly older, she plays the role like she's 24-25, IMO. Eduardo should be at least late 20's or 30, since Sofia is 8.

Neice:

I know Willy and Flores are trying to do their jobs. It's the way they are going about it that gets my goat.

Flores has been after Patti for a long time and by extension now Teresa. I don't agree with her sending those pictures to him and I think she did it to show him she isn't someone that can be constantly hounded so to speak. Was it right, no. But on the other hand, Flores didn't do his job when Mohammed was kidnapped. If he had been doing his job, Mohammed wouldn't have died and by extention Fatima either. Flores is so eaten up by his personal agenda against Teresa he failed to do his job. He wanted to make her suffer, well he got that in spades.

Willy, on the other hand, it's all a personal agenda for him too. He is still holding that grudge about not getting Epifanio's agenda all those years ago. He had been working for a long time to get Epifanio and now by extention Teresa. I don't like his methods either. Willy is out for personal glory and is still pithed he was demoted earlier for not getting Epifanio. Now he has a new promotion and come hell or high water, he wants that glory and to see Teresa in prison for a long time. He wants personal revenge as does Flores and that gets my goat.
