Waaah waaaah waaah, Alejandro makes the patio ask "does baby want a bottle, a big dirt bottle?" Lo Que La Vida me Robo Cap.62, Wed. 02/05/2014
Labels: robo
I think Alejandro's reaction is typical macho male stuff; his pride is being hurt because he thinks Monserrat (or her Monster Mama) is calling his bluff. We don't know enough about his backstory to understand this perfectly.
We do know that Maria can still poison him.
Padre Anselmo was right: Alejandro doesn't know his own feelings well enough and he doesn't want to face them. Taking the trip was running away from problems that only he could take care of (We know he can trust Victor and Macario with the running of his businesses). He can't face his own mistakes and I think he might not be able to forgive himself for them. That's what I think he's most afraid of.
Of course, his refusal to sign the divorce papers delivered by Monse's attorney is really about not wanting to finally lose her.
Graciela's arrival at the hacienda isn't going to make this any better, but it was still my favorite scene because of the confrontation between her and Maria. The two major hos in this tale should ultimately have an interesting catfight.
Refugio is definitely the least intelligent of the men in this tale to think that Basurto wouldn't use that against him. He seems to have forgotten why Esmeralda had to tell him he was her cousin.
But Esmeralda needs a better life for herself in a place bigger than Aguazul.
Dimwit is true to form, as usual. I hope the shot of Josefina looking in the mirror moves her to the makeover she deserves or did she learn nothing from her wedding pictures?
But loved your irreverent take on it, Eli--from your Waaaaah Waaaah title to the refrain of "I'm not a violent person but..." and perhaps my all-time favorite "Josefina and Demetrio, the Big Poopy Head.
This wallowing in dreadful behavior, breakups and misunderstandings is all the harder to bear during this cold, dark, snow-bound time of the year. And you folks out West are having any fun with the drought either. It's the Apocalypse! But a very entertaining account of it, Eli.
Hope your doctor's visit goes well. I just read a book about colds which said that the empathetic, caring response of a health care provider shortened the average length of a cold by one whole day. So whatever is going on, hope you have a very empathetic, caring doc! (like our Carlos, for instance)
And I am right there with you...not a violent person, but honestly, Ale....
I am firmly of the belief that this sorry excuse for a man is still an overgrown little boy who must have never gotten an ounce of love and affection of the "parental" variety because he wouldn't know how to deal with emotions if someone slapped him in the face with the manual. What a sorry snit he threw in front of the lawyers. The looks on their faces said it all.
I love Monse standing up to her mother, and what Graceless thinks she'll prove going to talk to The Brat is beyond me. But her confrontation with Maria--only time I've ever yelled "you go girl" when she pulled her ultimate poke. Those two deserve to take each other down.
Dim, Dim, Dim...that was a three step back night. But what the heck was that with Adolfo? Methinks he's protesting too much. Could he be fighting some feelings for his wife? horrors. It's the dimmest ( sorry) of a feeling, but hey, we have a lot of episodes to go.
And again, we don't get much, but Angie and JL looked so sweet, but she didn't look very well to me. Please don't have her die yet....
Previews...my guess is someone comes running as Monse goes into labor and Maria's knife attack is thwarted. Maybe, Ale? Now that would be the best irony. She's hiding from someone.
Daisynjay
I've made my feelings for that big baby named Alejandro clear. But he really hit a new low last night. It was nice to see the reaction of sane people who are outsiders. I can only imagine the WTF conversation those two lawyers had afterwards.
Loved Monde standing her ground with her mama and tia. Loved her preemptive strike with the lawyer. Loved Macario basically telling Ale he's an idiot who doesn't even understand himself, over mezcal shots. And finally, absolutely loved the meeting of the alpha bitch and the ultra bitch. The finger poke at the end was just the cherry on top.
I only see Gracie's visit to Ale making things worse. Ale will probably think it's part of a big conspiracy on Monse's part to get money out of him. He even told Padre that he thinks Monde is rushing the divorce in order to marry JL. Can someone please tell that fool that JL is living in wedded bliss, and HE knows how to treat his wife-- even one he's not head over heels in love with.
One bad major plot point you didn't mention. At the breakfast table it was revealed the Monse and Tia sold the hacienda months ago, and now they are even running out of that money. What an idiotic move!
Who is managing that money if the hacienda was sold? Unless the hacienda was in the back end of nowhere that should have been more than enough to last several years.
Of course, if Dimwit is still gambling that would explain a lot.
They should have had Tomas handle the sale; he looks like he's smart with money.
It's high time for Graceless to depart with some of that terrifying jewelry of hers.
Also enjoyed “he would get out of the marriage without losing anything (other than his sanity and common freaking sense!)”. HA!
Bravo to your “Dear Alejandro, wasn't killing her dad enough punishment? I just want you to know that while you might be pretty I no longer like you, I'm all for team Jose Luis because at least he is not a jerk like you, and he looks good in a suit and seems to have that whole sweating thing under control”. Perfect!
Some very sad elements including “he then gets up and leaves leaving behind a heart broken Fina” and” Dimitrio tells him that Josefina is his wife and that no one other than him will be taking advantage of her. Wow, what a prince”. Oh, Dimitrio, I had high hopes for your eventual redemption but this cruelty may have set the atonement bar far beyond your reach.
The scene of Ale and the lawyers was quite sad. What a petulant, immature, vengeful soul Ale is at the moment. Daisy's "sorry snit" certainly sums up that meeting. And Vivi, yes, I would like to have been a fly on the wall if the lawyers spoken afterward. I imagine that they would have had much to say, none of it good. At this point, I cannot imagine how and what will precipitate Ale's metamorphosis into the galan this storyline (and we) deserve.
Once again, Refugio wasn't thinking. But, even though she will break up with Refugio, Esme has no interest at all in Eze so all it will have earned Eze is satisfaction in breaking the couple up.
UA, do you think any of the jewelry we've seen Graciela sporting is worth anything?? Seems like mostly fashion jewelry. She might have one or two pricey baubles from Ale's father tucked away though.
I have to admit I loved every word, every exaggerated facial nuance, (even the poking) of the Maria/Graciela encounter. Oh Maria, child – you have met your match. Withdraw quietly – you have no chance of surviving this encounter.
Eli, I hope your doctor's visit goes well. I love what you said Judy about caring, empathetic providers. ITA, they make all the difference.
Thank you for this terrific recap.
Diana
I loved seeing Montse in fighting mode with her divorce offer. Poor baby Alejandro wanted to be the one who filed. Wahhh!
Low life Dimitrio telling low life Adolfo only HE would take advantage of his own wife was too much. Josefina telling him to get a job was the best.
The most enjoyable scene for me was when Graciela was with Maria and she poked her in the head!!!! OR as Daisynjay said "she pulled her ultimate poke." That was funny!
Jarifa
Vivi: Thanks for pointing out the sale of the hacienda. I didn't get that first time around. Yes, it was not a good move.
I loved Graciela's attack on the table when she couldn't reach Montsy to give her a forehead poke with her finger. But, she did get to give one to evil Maria.
Alejandro has crossed the line. Do you think he'll try to fight Montsy for custody of the baby? Wouldn't that be horrible.
He still doesn't know that JL has married Angelica, but, if he did, he'd probably make up some trash about that, too.
Dimi really hit a new low. His mean comments made Fina take a good look at herself in the mirror. Maybe she'll think of a makeover on her own.
" . .she and fetus stalk off." Just one fave.
Lord, Have Mercy! Love this episode for two main reasons: Montse beat Ale to the punch and kicked is sorry, bordering on psychotic ass to the curb! Just when I thought he could go no lower, or be more stooooopit, Ale essentially let Maria stick her hand up his b.. . .back and mouth some of her exact words to the lawyers and to Padre. She now has weaponized him with some panties and a picture. She was able to do this without boinking him, I'd hate to see how she could jerk him around if she ever did get to whip some on him!
"She's the one who really loves me, who's always loved me"
Yah, and you deserve each other. Gag me!
The second reason this was a great episode was the face off y'all been wanting between Gracie and Maria. Loved the head poke but of course this just re-arms Ale's psycho girl friend as we see in the previews. But I think I'm going to replay that poke! Hee Hee!
So now Ale is chanelling Maricruz Olivares of CI fame. He's going to make Montse pay! Uh, "Dear Alejandro, wasn't killing her dad enough punishment?" Nuff said, Eli!
Yah. They've turned Ale into a Big Dummy, puppet and Big Frickin' Baby! Uuuuuuuuf!
Speaking of channeling, I felt a LFMB vibe with Aldope-o encouraging Dimass to "bless" his own wife with his carnal charms. Of course Fina allows him to crush her again. I'm sorry, he's a jerk and you're stoooopit cause he's never showed you anything other than jerkiness. "They" are also dashing my hopes for these individuals and their relationship.
Esme and Refugio? I'm sorry, like somebody said the other day, what's so great about stripping nearly nekkid, gyrating and humping a pole for the class of "men" who frequent the Escondido? Sure, Esme can love that work if she wants to but Refugio needs to find another woman. The maid that Maria tried to get to lie at the Almonte mansion is a beautiful young woman and I'm sure of the moral quality Refugio claims to want. Refusing to let Maria manipulate her is enough for me to admire this young lady. Walk, Refugio and leave Esme to her pole!
I will rewind to the scene of Ale's shock at Montse's efforts to dump his arse and Maria getting her noggin knocked by Gracie. I will cherish these moments as I will the vigorous discussion that I'm sure will follow this efficient and funny recap! Thanks, Eli!!
Lila
That hadn't occurred to me. And yes, "Wouldn't that be horrible".
Diana (shivering at the mere thought)
Thanks Eli, terrific recap, and I hope your doctor's visit goes well. I hope your week winds down to a relaxing weekend.
But I don't see this happening.
Major head-scratchers:
-- How is it that six-seven months later nobody has gone through Juventino's things? You'd think somebody would have done it if only to clear out his room for someone else inheriting the job.
-- There should have been cash to find in there; you'd think Maria would have wanted to claim it... or turn it in to curry favor with Alejandro.
-- Shouldn't Macario have moved into the casa de capetaz before Alejandro left on the trip from hell?
Daisynjay
Ale refused to sign the papers simply because Montse "dared" ask for one. Now that he knows she wants to, he doesn't want her to be able to move on with her life. Dog in a manger.
Oh, and I like his incontrovertible proof! If JL took all his things, why would he leave his mementos of Montse behind? Ale is so easy for Maria to manipulate!
Wow - even Refugio was an ass this episode. And JL left som keys behind! What is Angelica going to find that makes her unhappy?
Hahahaha! I loved that line!
As much as I hate that forehead poking thing that Graciela does, I LOVED LOVED LOVED seeing it done to BM. Whoo, Graciela has had decades of beyotch experience so Maria better watch out!
small a anita
That won't happen. Here is my death list, e.g., those players who will probably die before the end of this mess:
JL
Maria
Refugio
Basurto (no great loss)
Pedro
Nadia
Joaquin
Did I leave anyone out?
Hope your visit to the doctor goes well today and thanks so much for staying up to get this great recap done. It's always a pleasure to read your work, and I laughed so many times.
Especially loved this line: "I'm all for team Jose Luis because at least he is not a jerk like you, and he looks good in a suit and seems to have that whole sweating thing under control. "
And this: "Infomercial for a truck, too bad Alejandro is wearing a seat belt, if he is in an accident his chances of surviving are high. Boooo. Hissss."
What's going on with Toyota and this TN now? I guess they noticed its rising numbers in the States and decided to get in on the advertising action, but how many potential Tundra buyers are really watching TNs?
Thanks again, Eli. Your recaps are always informative, beautifully written, and really funny!
"Infomercial for a truck, too bad Alejandro is wearing a seat belt".
Yeah you better buckle up, Ale, cuz you just knocked back several Tequila shots. Nice job, car advertisers! You pick the most hated character on the show, get him drunk and then put him behind the wheel of your car!?
Viv, and my other DC pals, was there a programming glitch last night? My dvr only recorded half way through for some reason. But after reading what happened, I'm glad I missed it.
Thanks again, Eli! Funny and quick!:)
If my theory about Maria's parentage is correct, have her and Graciela and up together in a distant town where Maria prostitutes herself to support the two of them. Graciela gradually descends into madness.
Lila
Thanks so much for this delightful recap. I too liked the line "I'm not a violent person but...." I'm so with you there.
We are indeed in the deep dark woods of this relationship with Ale and Monse. I think Ale won't let her go because he thinks she wants to marry JL. What a putz. Irregardless if he thinks that bebe is JL's he is only prolonging his own agony. It's all about him and HIS suffering. Noone else is allowed to wallow in the mire but him. He never thinks of anyone else's suffering. It's all about him. I had to laugh though when BM told him to divorce Monse, marry her and she'd give him children with his blood, he looked like he wanted to barf.
I was really disappointed in Dimwit. I really didn't like what he said about Fina and her face. He should look at his own while he's talking. What he needs is some competition. I bet he'd change his mind real quick.
Yay to Monse for standing up to her dark hearted Mama. You go Monse. It's too bad the hacienda was sold. Graceless probably got the majority of that money and blew it on herself and Dimwit. He hasn't been whining about money until now.
I too liked Mac telling Ale the way it was, but best scene was Gracie poking her finger in BM's forehead. And the look on BM's face, priceless! BM has more than met her match.
I don't like what Refugio did to Esme at all. So she wants to dance, big whoop. She has helped him so much and more than once when he was on the lam. He should have let well enough alone. And to trust EZ, que?????
I just knew BM would use those undies and that picture of Monse to her advantage, but Ale sure wasn't thinking was he? If JL was so in lurrvvveee with Monse, why would he leave her picture and those undies behind? Que????
Eli, I hope your doctor's visit goes well and JudyB's comment about empathetic caregivers is so right on! Be well.
I've learned in a TN those closeups on an item always mean something.
Daisynjay
I loved the Graciela vs Maria scene i was laughing and was almost rooting for Gracie ,too bad there wasnt much slapping involved.
Macario said something else profound, when Ale said that Maria is the only one who has always loved him, yadda yadda. Mac pointed out that Ale doesn’t love her. As much of a b!tch as Maria is, Ale is using her and being selfish.
Daisynjay- Those keys are bound to be significant. Perhaps he has a keepsake box where he keeps old letters and photos of Monse (but I'm sure, no undies)?
Lila
Hey Demetrios. It's a rough winter all right, glad you've got your power back!
Lila
My favorite scene was that confrontation between Graciela and María. Graciela's explanation of what happens to Marías in her world was chilling and sadly accurate.
Somehow I also missed that the hacienda had been sold and that the money is already running out. The Padre did note that Montserrat has been active in helping out the community, maybe Montserrat has taken a cue from Maricruz in CI.
María with that knife in the avances... Yikes!... Let's hope that she's planning to cut up some fruit.
Did Anyone else notice that Alejandro's new truck has Texas license plates?
Carlos
Just a wild guess!
DaisynJay: I agree about those keys they are bound to mean something.
Vivi: You are exactly right about that picture of Monse and those panties. This is not proof positive. Ale chooses to believe what he wants to believe. He is stuck on stupid. You'd think he would suss out that BM has a somewhat similar pair. Hmmmm......
But she knows that he doesn't stop to think; he acts on impulse. He also hates to be told he's wrong even when he knows he is.
After the money disappearing from his desk Alejandro should have realized that some room doors really need locks. He still doesn't seem to realize that Maria once stole some of Monse's underwear and considering that Monse should have owned some serious jewelry at the time they got together a lock would have been a necessity.
Back to the present:
Per an earlier comment, Graciela should be driving her own car (I suspect she never learned) and they should have severely reduced the household staff. However, that would most likely never occur to her.
In fact, they should also have sold the mansion.
It looks like Monserrat and Carlota are the only ones making sacrifices while Graciela and Dimwit live off them.
The comments are wonderful as always.
Diana
Welcome back Demetrios.
Diana (who better get back to work. I just can't tear myself away from Caray)
Lila
Julia Rold, you had me in stitches with your comment about Toyota owners watching TNs!!! I'm still laughing!
The biggest disappointment for me was in finding out that the hacienda had been sold. My first thought upon hearing this: YOU DUMB WOMEN!! Good Grief! They have sold the one thing that could have kept them going even if in a meagerly manner. They could have LEARNED to manage the hacienda. They could have LEARNED to live with less. More importantly, the could have LEARNED to work and to value the concept of WORKING.
This sale of the hacienda is what has me "fried" today! Who cares about Alejandro and his petulant little ways?! Who really cares? I surely do NOT. We have spoken so many times of how Alejandro is "using" Maria. I think it is working both ways. She is using and manipulating him right back. You know what? WHO CARES?! I'm GLAD Maria is using Alejandro. Right now, this is what he deserves.
Alejandro is in serious trouble on so many levels. He can't see beyond himself to even recognize that Maria is a sociopath. Maria is so sick that I believe she would willingly destroy Alejandro's soul simply in order to "keep" him.
Alejandro is walking a very fine line in his own life. Just how low will he have to go before Rosario finally opens her mouth to save him?! I honestly think that this is the only thing that will bring him back from the brink.
He is on the edge of a cliff and he had better wake up soon.
I came home so late and quite tired from work yesterday that I didn't get to finish the over 100 comments from yesterday until this morning!
Elna June: Thank you SO much for your lovely and understanding offer!
Dear, Dear JudyB, such a wise person you are. I am going to reread all of your comments as they were just perfect, my friend! Remember, we are sitting on that bench with arms locked as we watch this Black Hole of a TN.
Carlos, amigo, I was disappointed not to see your defense of Maria yesterday. You do give all of us a different perspective on Maria which is always so well written. I know you must have some good laughs when you poke fun at those of us who despise this chick, but please know that your comments are always so much fun to read!
Nanette, yes, sometimes, this TN is more than a bit much for me, but I am hanging in there. :)
Thank you again, Eli. Hope your doctor visit goes very well.
Fatima
Sunday night at 8:00pm UNI is showing a special called "Bodas de Telenovelas". If you have been missing DamFab, and who hasn't, his wedding is featured on this show. It is a mix of old and new Bodas for telenovelas. Can't wait : )
Here's a question for our Mexican visitors: Whey Televisa stopped making teen and kid novelas did they replace those with adult-audience ones or start producing other types of shows to replace them?
"Hmmm... comment by Carlos?... Next!"
I still am clinging to faint hope that María will start making better choices. I approve of her destroying the letter and the clever use of the panties (which still appear to be in pretty good condition considering...) and photo. She's just taking advantage of the stupidity of the object of her desire and her adversaries... however I think that guns, knives, and high heeled shoes are unwise choices.
Carlos
When los dos pendejos come back for the keys they will either find Angelica gone (kidnapped by Joaquin) or Joaquin lying in wait for them with with one of his other high-powered rifles.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I want Angie around more. Will we have one of those dual episodes again: A happy birth and a sad death? Oh, please no.
And yes, Carlos, I notices and my son who casually walked through the room noticed with "why is someone driving a truck from Texas in one of your shows(translation: TN)?" No offense to Texas, but not exactly the type of whirlwind trip I pictured Ale taking with Maria. I was thinking Europe or fashionable South America. No wonder she was looked sour when she came back because she was hoping for the same thing?
Daisynjay
Telemundo has included Toyota trucks in many TNs, so I'm wasn't surprised to see the truck in this one.
I DO enjoy your comments and reading your defense of Maria, but I have to agree that your gal is making some POOR choices these days. :))
Audrey, honeymoon in McAllen, TX. Ooh la la! Be still my beating heart!
Fatima
Too bad we didn't get to listen in on the some of the conversation they had on the drive home. Once again... drat those Univision censors.
Carlos
My favorite scene was, of course, the scene between Gracie and Malria. Although I usually hate that finger pushing Gracie always resorts to when she is frustrated with another woman, it was so satisfying to see Gracie pull her signature move on smirking Malria. AND, she even created a brand new move just for the occasion...a direct forehead shove. Very creative. Wonderful. Malria, Hon, you have met your match. No one dies nasty like Gracie dies nasty. I don't think that Gracie has ever done her classic finger push to a man...not even Dimmy McDimmerson.
I know that we've talked about this before, but WHERE is that suitcase of $$$ that Ale gave Mony for the land and Mony in turn gave to JL and the navy guys found in JL's room ? Did the navy guys turn it in to the police and now Pedro has it ? Mony does not even seem to remember it, and if the family is so financially strapped , it is strange that she does not seek out the money. Does Mony think that JL still has it ? Also, since the will left the hacienda to Tia and Mony, how could Gracie get her hands on the money from the sale unless she talked them out of it which seems unlikely.
I, too, could not believe Ale throwing back some tequla shots right before getting into the truck. QTH??? And no matter how guaypo a guy is, who would want someone who is acting like Ale...not me. I thought the young lawyer Mony retained was pretty cute , and I loved the look of disbelief he had on his face when Ale started babbling his nonsense. Maybe Mony should give him a chance. HE looked like he had a brain.
Well, the schools had a twohour late start. Now, it is bright and sunny. We are wondering about the next storm which is supposed to arrive on Saturday and go into Sunday.
HA...word I.d. =. Disgraced
Recaps are still awesome, though. Thanks, Eli. Love your running themes.
I am gobsmacked that Carlota and Montse sold the hacienda and they're already running out of money. Unless "hacienda" was always an aggrandizement and it was really a five-acre squash patch with a garden shed from Sears on it, they should have either been able to live on the income for ever by actually managing the place, or at least sold it for more. And why have they let Graceless continue spending in her usual fashion, if she's doing it with their money?
I don't see the appeal in Esme's job, either. She says she loves dancing, but the half-hearted writhing they do at the Escondido hardly even counts as dancing. Surely she can find something better. But it was really wrong and stupid of Refugio to get her fired. Imperious jackass.
The capataz cottage and Juviepervy's room have both been untouched all this time? And Ale can't spare a brain cell to wonder why Maria didn't find that stuff when she originally cleaned out the cottage, or why JL would have left that stuff behind, or that anyone in the house (*ahem* MARIA) could have gotten their hands on the picture and skivvies and put them there? Unrelenting anger is bad enough, but I have a hard time putting up with stupidity. And now his poor widdle feewings are hurt because he wanted to be the one to file for divorce? Grow up, Ale.
Amen, Susanlynn. Montse should go for the sensible lawyer.
But shopping is very, very popular with Mexican tourists here. 42% of retail sales in McAllen is due to Mexicans coming over to buy stuff to take back home.
Me too, Carlos, would have loved to listen in on the (non) conversation when they drove the VERRRY long way back home.
Audrey, I read your comment about our neighbors south of the border liking in to shop in the states. Likewise, our neighbors north of our border also like to shop in the states...and buy gas . ...better prices and better sales,
Eli what a great recap. Everything was to the point and yet tons of wit and snark thrown in. Many thanks!
UA I love your ideas for Maria and Graciela! I suspect they will have a more deadly anvil headed their way before the end but a lifetime of prostitution and madness would suit them as well.
Carlos,I too love your comments and especially like that you included high heels as something ill advised for the despicable Maria.
What is wrong with that BM?! She loves Ale so much that she'd rather lose him to jail or death than to another woman? And how long do we have to wait for someone to tell the idiot Ale that Montse has now tried twice to make amends (for what again?)and BM lied both times and prevented the reconciliation?
I was hoping that Ale would go to JL old digs and find one of the many letters asking him to please leave. Oh well.
I hope nothing bad happens to Angie....
Becky
Can't wait to read the recap and comments.
Nanette-
You know, honestly, he and Dimwit should get together and go out for drinks. I think they have more in common then they realize.
I also vote for the cute lawyer for Monse. Or Nadia, frankly, any of the sweet women in this TN putting up with the knuckle crawlers they are currently dealing with.
Daisynjay
Daisynjay...HA..I lave a delightful mental image of Ale and Dim on Big Wheels racing for the finish line in the Big Loser race. Buy a vowel. Get a clue. Man up. Grow up.
Did they include these promo bits in the Mexican airing, or film them separately for the U.S. broadcast? For the last few days we've had these truck promos where it seems like they have abruptly cut off a scene to fit it in. It doesn't feel like it was originally edited that way.
Thank for the snappy, witty and fun recap. Your asides are so much fun to read.
I wish you well at your Dr's visit today.
Your title says it all for me. a big dirt bottle, indeed. LOL!
The Patio has already expressed (with eloquence and humor) the general opinion about Alejandro. Looser.
I cannot believe I feel that the show is so dark and we have not even see Joaquin exact revenge, or Angie get sicker, or jealousy-addled Alejandro try to harm Jose Luis.
Yikes. Novela Maven, will the fire code allow us to light more candles in the bunker? My ironic detachment is failing me already.
MAVEN, you also have a late comment from me on yesterday's blog.
Thanks again, Eli, for the recap.
Elna June
Lila
By the way, I wonder if it as expensive to get a divorce in Mexico as it is in the U.S. Ale can afford a lawyer, but it will be another expense for Mony. These folks need a money management class.
Oh, about the ratings for this TN. We are now sitting at 4.1 million viewers a jump of +44 percent since this TN started. Yay!
Those two lawyers probably had a great conversation afterwards on the order of "That's one for the books!"
The briefcase full of money is probably still in police custody unless Pedro took it and spent it already. Monse will need Captain Robledo's help getting it back and that will take time.
Which reminds me that she once heard Alejandro say he suspected Pedro of being corrupt. She should have gotten that money back as soon as JL was cleared.
I have a list of Good Questions which will go into another post.
2/6/14
Graciela: No siblings? She comes from a generation where 4-5 was the norm rather than the exception.
Refugio: Does he have no family?
Nadia / Adolfo: Almost a year has gone by since the opening of the story, so where are their parents?
Amelia: How much does she know about Joaquin's dirty dealings?
Monserrat: If she is determined to lock Alejandro and his dinero out of her life why has she not acquired a work skill?
Pedro: We're still wondering what his issues are.
José Luis: Does he know where the bribe money came from?
Angelica: If the answer to the above is “no” will she ever reveal it to him even if it's a letter meant to be given to him after her death? Because he is honourable I can see him wanting to return that money to Alejandro.
You know, I thought about that too. I'm sure that's not unprecedented. We know Maria's not going to be successful slicing Montse up so she'll surely have other dirty tricks up her sleeves. She never goes out and doesn't seem to know anybody so I hope that's one trick she won't pull!
Lila
In answer to your question number three:
They probably have not been cast yet.
Hee hee hee.
Elna June
Romy
YES! If you will recall, she told Ale that Arechiga knew where JL was AFTER she overheard Padre pushing for Monsy and bashing Maria. Maria is the type that "If I can't have him, nobody can". I think she'd rather see Ale dead than with Monsy.
Viv: Yes! My DVR has issues with Ale and I do too! LOL
I just read your recap. Thanks a million. As always it was an awesome read.
Already over 80 comments! OMG, I haven't read them yet, but I am sure I will enjoy every one of them.
Dimi is back to being a big meanie! He was just so cruel when he laughed in Fina's face. I don't think she is going to put up with it much longer. I loved it when she told him that what she needed was a man. Obviously Dimi is not the man she needs.
I am not surprised that the Mendoza hacienda was sold. I am just wondering if that decision was made by Montse and Carlota alone, or was Gracie a big influence on their decision to sell. And they're almost out of the money from the sell? Seriously? What in the hell is being bought? I can understand you need stuff for the baby, and necessities for the house, but I think Gracie got her hands on that money and is wasting it away. Maybe she's even giving money to Dimi.
Bad move Refugio...
I am glad that Padre A is there for Ale because he is in a deep depression. He is in so deep that he doesn't even recognize himself anymore. I think it shook him deep inside that Montse filed the divorce papers first. That is why he refuses to sign them. Deep down he doesn't want to lose Montse, and he does realize the possibility of the baby being his. If he really wanted a divorce and thought that baby was not his he would have signed the papers when the lawyer kept insisting to sign. But he didn't because deep down he wants Montse and his child back in his life. He knows that he does, but all the lies are keeping him from being happy. He needs people like Padre A, Victor and Mac in his life to 'tell it like it is' because they know what a good person Ale really is. They know that he is hurting, but pray that eventually he will come out of his depression.
What he doesn't need is someone like BM telling him hideous lies. She is barely back in town for a day before she starts burning important personal letters, and planting Montse's undies to incriminate her even further. And after Dominga warned her not to tell Ale that Joaquin was looking for him (so that Ale won't go after JL), what does she do? The exact opposite. She needs to go, and quick! She is ony hurting Ale. I am tired of her. I can't even call her a bitch anymore because that is too kind a word for the malicious acts that she has done. On a lighter note, I was gloriously happy when Gracie came to the hacienda and finger punched BM in the forehead. YES!!!! BM has finally met her match. I am looking forward to the rest of that encounter. Mother vs. Daughter!
Much more to say, but I am out of time, plus I need to read the comments.
Back to work...hasta pronto!
I think Dimitrio can turn things around but you don't just go from being a user to being a good decent human being over night, these things take time and in Telenovela land sometimes it takes a tragedy before someone really makes a change.
I can't wait to see what happens tonight.
Recently read the oomment that the padre and victor know what a good guy Ale really is and I take issue with that....A good guy doesn't imprison and rape his wife, throw her out pregnant, after narrowly avoiding murdering her and/or want to murder anyone, much less a person who has saved his life. If Ale is a "good guy" I hope to never encounter a bad one....

Just got to say Josephina is so painfully lacking any self-esteem! A makeover will probably work in telenovelaland, but she needs emotional help. It's sad to see her cling desperately to a man-boy, who is disgusting in every sense of the word. I don't care how 'redeemable' he might be, she deserves a better person. Who made it her job to fix him? Oh right, those chauvinist writers.
Marea Primavera
He should have been tossed out on his arse long ago.
Eli, sorry to hear that you had to leave your appointment today. I hope that you are able to see the doctor soon if need be, and if you were sick, I hope you are feeling better.
Carolina,
As a member of the Ale table I will defend Ale as a 'good guy' to the bitter end. Deep down, everyone knows that he is a good person, just like Padre A, Mac, Victor, Dominga and Rosario know. Many believe that he has done and said so many bad things, but forget that so many bad things have been done to Ale as well. Right now those who are not part of the Ale table choose to think of him as a 'bad guy', hence forgetting that he is in state of depression. (Rosario warned everyone at the hacienda not to let Ale fall into a depression) He is not himself right now, but many tend to, or choose to forget that. He also has the venomous BM(sorry Carlos) there to poison his mind.
back to work (yes I am still at work)...hasta pronto!
FYI...The Ale table is located on the Patio. If you want to join us at the Ale table you have to chat with Cynderella, the head of the Ale table, and sign the required documents.
