Lo Que La Vida Me Robo #113: 4/18/14: It's All About Graceless' Wants!

Ahoy Amiguis! I want to wish everyone a very Happy Easter and Passover. This recap is on the fly, so please correct/add anything I happened to miss. I am skipping the old and starting with the new. Oh, for my count of the missing Padre, this is day eight of the missing Curia. Shall we start with an earworm? Y'all just know I have one or two every recap I do. This one is dedicated to Graceless of course, cause this episode was full of her, er herself shall we say, and here it is for your listening pleasure: Heartless!

Graceless has continued her trumped up testimony and that Judge is just eating it up. Graceless says one of his peons, she doesn't now if it was Ale for sure, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, but he was being drugged or something, and she thought she'd let the judge know that cause of the exhumation. The Judge wants to know why she didn't take Don Benny to a hospital? Well, the Padre didn't approve you see, she was a married woman, and had been Don Benny's lova all those years, can you imagine the scandal? Her prestige, cough, cough, was on the line here. Besides that "bastardo" married her daughter Monse for goodness sake.

I am rolling my eyes, goodness gracious, why are Nadia and Vic leaving in broad daylight? They are going to Ale's hacienda to wait for that plane, so they can flee Aguazul. They make their goodbyes to Mac, Ale and Monse. Soon they are in the car and on the road where they stop for drinks. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!!!!!! Meanwhile, EZ gets a call about their whereabouts cause of course they are being followed.

Ale is in his office when Fablush comes complete with her glass of wine. Guess she isn't hiding her addiction to it anymore. The discussion is that lana she wants that he has. Fablush lets him know that Sandho and Fablush have been consulting with Peddy and really she isn't stealing anything from Ale, it really belongs to her, esa lana es mio, in other words! Fablush was so suspicious of Ale cause she had no idea he existed. Ale is pithed, because of Fablush's machinations, his poor Mama Rosy got raked over the coals and was accused basically of being a lying ho! Fablush could care less. Ale could care less about her either and it's time for her to Largate mi casa y punto! Fablush warns Ale she'll be throwing him out on his rear soon. She slams out of that office only to run into poor Monse. She asks Monse if she's all happy now, she's being thrown out on her rear, oh and Monse only married Ale for the lana, and all that time she was really in love with JL and in his arms. Monse corrects Fablush and tells her money don't mean a thing to her. Fablush calls her a golddigger, and Monse cracks her one, right across the face. Take that you drunken wino, well not that, but Fablush is pithed and dumps her wine glass all over Monse's dress. Que lastima! Monse also tells Fablush that JL is in the prison, so no hanky panky and Fablush warns Monse she is coming back to this house as the one and only Duena y punto!

Poor JL is in the prison and gets a beatdown, curtesy of the Pedmaster! It's payback time and poor JL is down on the ground with a beat up face. The guard does nothing to help him of course.

Oh, looky here, we have the two brainless, or tainted brains duo of Addled and BM. BM is reminding Addled it's not nice to fool the Pedmaster! It's also not nice to cross EZ but Addled has enough money to live on for a year. The Pedmaster is also capable of killing for that will, but no matter. Addled is going to Brasil, to Rio in fact, and he invites BM to go along. Ah, nopis, not gonna happen. She has got to be near her man, esa hombre is Mio, that would be Ale. Besides she'll dance again so she's all set. Addled has to remind her that Ale doesn't love BM and will never leave Monse. BM pays him no never mind. Ale will come back to her. Yeah, in your dreams sister! She also asks Addled if he brought that little something she asked for. He sure did and it's a gun. Ruh, Roh, it's to defend herself from the Pedmaster she says. Oh, and she mentioned she is going to take her dead Tio Juvie's advice concerning Monse. Now we all know what that was don't we? Disappear her foreva and eva! Addled now bids BM a goodbye and an apology for trying to kill her that time. All is forgiven. Oh, and she wishes him luck and they even have one last kiss. When Addled goes outside EZ is waiting for him cause the Pedmaster would like a word!

Oh, there was a product placement which I am skipping, all about the Toyota Tundra.

Ale tells Monse that he told Fablush to get out! Monse is very worried, cause things are not going well for her sweet cheeks Ale, but they are together and that's all that counts. Ale says he is losing everything, but she tells him not gonna lose her unless she dies. Ruh, roh.

Graceless' testimony is over and the Pedmaster is walking with her. He thanks her so much for the testimony cause now Ale will be fingered as an imposter and will lose all that lana. Pedmaster isn't interested in that lana, just in Ale losing it. Oh, and also Pedmaster will see to it that Ale goes to the prison for the death of Don Benny, what could be better. Graceless wants some of that lana and Pedmaster will put in a word for her with Sandho. No worries. She goes off and now his revenge, best served cold, twenty years cold that is, is now almost complete, as he smirks to himself.

Guess where Fablush has ended up? That's right poor Amelia's. Fablush is staying y punto until she gets all that inheritance. Ale threw her out on her rear. Amelia is pithed and rolls her eyes. Fablush asks after Ginny. Thank goodness Ginny is off with Tia Pru far, far away! Fablush is pithed noone informed her that JL was in the prison. Well Amelia still considers him Angie's hubby. Fablush beleives poor JL shouldn't be alone and then asks for some vino of course.

BM is in her own fantasy world, hugging that orginal will and that Ale is so gonna marry her. Hmmmm........ what planet is she from again? Here is an earworm for her: Headed For A Fall

Addled and the Pedmaster have a chat, but the Pedmaster socks Addled right in the face, he wants that will y punto. He's also pithed because the jobs he gave Addled to do, ya know the killing of the Padre and Maria, were really handled by EZ. Now he wants that will that Addled five finger discounted from him. Addled tells the Pedmaster he does have a brain in his head, cause you see that will is his insurance so to speak. The Pedmaster disagrees and says he's an idiot. Well, Addled tells him if he ends up dead, that will goes straight to Ale. So the Pedmaster is foiled again! Addled tells him he is leaving Aguazul and neva coming back. The Pedmaster tells him be better neva show his face eva again and then kicks him out! Addled lives to see another day!

Oh, my has Monse come to visit La Escondida? Nopis, it's BM in a long blonde wig and sunglasses about to take a stroll outta there. Where does she go? Why she goes to see JL of course in prison. He thinks it's Monse of course, cause he is seeing BM from behind. She turns and he knows instantly that it is BM. He wants to know why the hell she came to see him. He thinks she's loca of course, and she will neva be Monse. She tells poor JL that Monse now has a price on her head, due to the Pedmaster. He had his chance with Monse and now he's in the prison, sucks to be JL. JL thinks he can buy the Pedmaster off, but BM assures him that the Pedmaster doesn't want his money. The Pedmaster wants Monse dead. BM goes with that and poor JL tears up the visiting room.

Graceless and Sandho are having a "friendly" chat. He's perturbed with her cause she never told him she had been Don Benny's lova for many years. The Pedmaster advised Sandho to work with Graceless so what exactly does she want? Well she knows he is robbing Ale blind and wants 50% of the take. That's what she wants. See orginally she wanted all of it. She sacrificed Monse to Ale so she could have some of it. Now however, Monse and little Laurito will be out in the cold, no moola. That's why she wants 50% of the take, yeah right, sure, sure, we all know it's really for Graceless. She could give a fig about Monse. She tells Sandho she has plans for Monse. Yeah, I'll bet she does!

Monse, Tia Lottie and Laurito are going on an excursion to find Tia Lottie the perfect wedding dress and so they do. Tia Lottie looks very beautiful. I just didn't like that side lacy rosy thingy on the shoulder, but that's just me.

The Judge has called Ale to his chambers. He tells Ale that the signatures on the wills that were submitted do not match, in other words Ale's will is a forgery. Ale thinks there must be some kind of mistake. The Pedmaster comes and says that they did a forensic autopsy on Don Benny and found poison in his system oh and by the way the ADN (DNA) doesn't match Ale either. So now the Pedmaster wants Ale to confess all, to the murder of Don Benny and for being a lying liar that lies! Ale says he is being robbed!

JL has called his best bud Refugio to the prison. He tells him what BM said and the threat by the Pedmaster. JL calls that guard in and wants to know how much money it would take for JL to leave the prison for 24 hours to take care of some bidness. The guard at first is like yeah, sure, sure, but Refugio swears that JL his uber rich now. Well the guard has a think and says 1 million de pesos. How about the missing JL for head count though? Easily solved. Refugio will take his place for that twenty four hours. Okey Dokey then. They switch clothes and JL swears he will be back in 24 hours.

Ale is telling the Judge this is all lies all of it. The Pedmaster also gave Ale the autopsy report for his perusal. Ale is just stunned. The Pedmaster says that Rosy made up the whole rape thingy and in reality she is a ho, and that he could be the son of Jacinto Sanchez, or any old guy. Ale also said he thinks that Juvie killed Don Benny, but of course it's like talking to the hand. Ale grabs the Pedmaster and tells him he will kill him with his bare hands. The Judge advises Senor Almonte to let the Pedmaster go. The Pedmaster reminds the Judge that Ale can't be called Senor Almonte he isn't the son of Don Benny. Ale doesn't beleive it and is completely gobsmacked!

AVANCES:

JL and Ale meet.

Graceless is screaming Monse's name.

Good Morning Y'all,

I hope Y'all have a very splendiferous weekend. Please enjoy the recap. I will be checking in from time to time. I have company in this weekend and we are going to have lots of fun : )

Good work, Madelaine. I'm still incredulous that Pedro has done all this with nobody to stop him.

Graceless is truly the most shameless of the lot. She is now doing her best to ruin Alejandro and Monserrat's lives all so she can take any money she can get out of it. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if she took out a life insurance policy on both of them and baby Laurito and killed them all for the big payoff. Of course that won't happen, but if I were writing this I might have her plan it.

In the world of Greek tragedy she would be hounded by the Furies for eternity.

More later; got to hit the hay.

Wow MADS...Thanks for getting this up so quickly, and with earworms to boot. Sounds like another episode jam-packed with MISERY. Gah!

Especially enjoyed Heartless. I was so busy with my kids during that decade I know very little music from the 70's. Thanks amiga and Do Have Lots of Fun this weekend!

PS I still get a kick out of Graciela, for some reason, but I find Pedro beyond bearing. Guess I'm not going to enjoy the next few months of this.

Madelaine, thanks for another wonderful recap this week and such fun ear worms!

The truest line ever uttered in this telenovela ( my fave from last night) : JL to BM: " You are crazy."

Nothing more to say. :)

Jarifa

Good morning Madelaine, UA, Judy and Jarifa.

Oh Madelaine, listening to Ann and Nancy was the perfect wake up call. Some of the greatest rockers. Ever. Excellent musical selections as always.

You rocked it along with the Wilsons. And splendidly.

"Her prestige, cough, cough, was on the line here" and "Oh, looky here, we have the two brainless, or tainted brains duo of Addled and BM" were among my favorites.

Was Graciela always so obviously evil or has avarice continued to seep into her heart? When I see her now, I unfailingly flinch. She is every bit as evil as Pedro. She has used her minions do her dirty work and bought and sold her children. UA, I see we are on the same wavelength this morning.

A little surprised Fab has revealed herself fully as the grasping, cold, calculating soul she is. I'm surprised though that she actually believes she has a chance with JL! And poor Amanda, hasn't she suffered enough without having to endure Fab's intrusion?

Glad Adolfo lives to see another day and while Nadia and Victor have never been my favorites, I hope they are able to get out of Dodge safely.

I must have dozed off and missed the scene with Carlota and the wedding dress. Sigh.

Maybe Pedro will succeed in having Ale evicted and jailed. With apologies to Ale supporters, I will try and muster up some sympathy should that occur :)

Scratching my head as to JL's newest plan. And poor Refugio. He has supported and helped JL far more than his role of the BFF requires.

Madelaine, marvelous recap. You missed nothing.

Diana

Amelia,not Amanda. Not enough coffee.

Diana

My my my. Thanks so much Mads. Fantastic recap and loved the earworms. Anything by Heart is fine by me, brings back my college says ( and I have just dated myself big time).

Might suggest a chorus of Dreamboat Annie for Maria walking on the street. Talk about someone with their "head in the clouds". I see a nice white jacket with cute wrap around arms in her future. It's also getting boring having to watch scene after scene of her waxing poetic for Ale. We get it writers.

My guess is we are moving to Part II of the storyline and Ale will lose it all. Now as for having to wind up in jail again...really?? I can't believe we would get stuck with that tired plot either again. Maybe a Defiant Ones with Ale and JL bolting it? Or hey...you bought a plane. USE IT!

At this point, I would also LOVE to see Fabs get nada, zippo, big nothing out of this whole inheritance. Fleeced by her lover. HA! Even if she gets a piece of the pie, my guess is she'll drink it away. They have made her character even more disgusting the last week or so, so I'm thinking redemption is not happening, or at least any time soon.

I can't even with Graceless anymore. These plots with mothers who would sell their children to the highest bidder grate on me, so as much as Daniela chewing up the scenery can be fun, just sickening when you know what she is doing.

Adolfo lives another day indeed. I'm sure we will see him, maybe to bring Pedo down finally. I think that was a huge mistake on Pedo's part.

Off to enjoy a day of organizing recipes. Couldn't find my ham glaze recipe my family loves yesterday, so decided to bite the bullet, bought a beautiful recipe binder and am going to have some fun today.Happy Easter to all!! May the sun shine bright for everybody for a change too!

Daisynjay

Thanks for dishing the 411 for us, Mads! Loved,
"I am rolling my eyes, goodness gracious, why are Nadia and Vic leaving in broad daylight? They are going to Ale's hacienda to wait for that plane, so they can flee Aguazul. They make their goodbyes to Mac, Ale and Monse. Soon they are in the car and on the road where they stop for drinks. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!!!!!!"
My sentiments exactly, I think the writers are deliberately provoking us!
We keep wondering why the story gets distorted, but it seems like ratings in Mexico drives what they do with the story in the US. US audiences have different tastes. I am trying to imagine what kind of people would like the suffering of the characters-Ale going back to jail. Us having to look at Maria in a blond wig...Watching Graceless, Ped, and Fab gloating and gloating... dragged out for 3 more months. ?? Maybe it is just about the money, hmmm?
So many of the characters have exited, seem to be exiting, wondering if the actors only had contracts for the original amount of weeks. Grrrr.

Daisynjay, I was just thinking of DC's last toxic mother, Rosario of Mi Pecado, who also made her daughter's life a living hell. She had a different reason for hating her, but had no compunction about selling her to the highest bidder when their finances were circling the bowl. It will be interesting to see if Graceless is driven to the same Karmageddon.

However, I envision something worse for her, as Rosario never committed any crime she could have gone to prison for.

Madelaine, our Madelaine! I LOVE your ear worms and your encyclopedic brain for knowing so many tunes!! It was another smashing weekend recap. Thank you so much!!

One of my boyfriends used to tell me, "Fatima, you think too much". I admit it. I like to think and analyze, but when it comes to the TN, I think I gotta stop it and stop it now.

I've decided I just don't "get" these stories and the writing and The Plan. I started watching "Por Siempre Mi Amor" when it first came on, but quickly left it and only read the really excellent recaps. The villain over there is beyond horrible and the galan (if you could even call him that...why was that actor chosen anyway?) is an antagonist as far as I am concerned.

Then, we have this story...so, I'm just going to go with the fact that I will never "get it" and I am going to stop the thinking and the analyzing and just enjoy the wonderful comments from the Caray gang.

Who needs the story when I can enjoy the wonderful musings here.

Fatima

Madelaine, what a fun way to start my Saturday morning. Just a lively and entertaining recap from start to finish!

Emarie, rolling my eyes right along with you! Can two people be any dumber than Nadia and Vic? Having narrowly escaped Pedro the night before, they should have hightailed it out of Aguazul that very same night. He was conked out, too dazed to think and send any goons after them. No, they wait until the next morning, like if they are on vacation to leave. And speaking of goons, I thought I recognized the voice of the guy following them. Plays a great bad guy, but just don't remember his name.

One last thing, regarding Adolfo, I don't think he is getting away that easily. If I recall correctly, Pedro told him that having the will only buys him the air he is breathing, but he is not to leave Aguazul. He will remain in his service until he dies. That one should have hightailed it out of Aguazul the same night along with his sister!

Maricruz

I also wish I could spend some time in Mexico watching and listening to the people there when they watch the TN. It would help me to understand the cultural differences which might then help me to "get it".

Hopefully, Cap'n Sharkbait will be coming back soon and she could give us her thoughts after being there for a while.

The NPR website has a good story up right now on Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Tom Ashbrook of NPR's "ON POINT" will be devoting a good portion of his program this coming Monday to GGM! Must Hear Radio!!

Fatima

Fatima, the problem here is that we are going beyond the original story. Alejandro's inheritance was threatened in both earlier versions (I think) but the counterparts to Pedro were nothing like Pedro. Fabiolush has different vices from her counterparts, and the contemporary setting changes a number of things, including the background conflict.

We need to remember that extensions happen because it's cheaper to produce fewer series that are longer in order to get the same total new hours. I wouldn't mind this if the extensions made sense. Since there isn't currently a war in our part of the world the drug cartel story was the only thing they could do, which also changed JL from a soldier to a sailor. Logical change, so no problem.

Where this seems to be going off the rails is with EZ and our whiplash with every episode where we have to keep questioning his motives and speculate on his future actions. Not to mention Adolfo, whose actions aren't making any sense.

While it would currently make logical sense for Pedro to want Monserrat dead, the person who wants that the most is Maria and stupid Adolfo just handed her the weapon to make that possible. If he had half a brain he would have refused and threatened to reveal her hiding place. However, he's to besotted with her fake sexuality to see that he just made his biggest mistake so far.

Madelaine - Thanks for a terrific recap. Love the zip you put storytelling of the Aguazul follies. Have a wonderful weekend with your company.

I'm finding my interest is going to odd places. Did they really sacrifice Monse's beautiful dress for that scene? Or was the wine Fab tossed on it some magic liguid that rinse out clear?

So JL, a trained Navy investigator, just leaves prison on Maria's word alone? How about phoning that other guy that would give his life for Monse to find out what's really going on first?

Poor Refugio. Between his best friend, his wife, and his new commander, he can't catch a break. He too should be heading for that escape plane.

Urban, your analysis of extending rather than producing a new TN makes sense, but it makes me wonder why they rushed "La Tempestad" along so fast to make room for this one. With that one they also did character replacement that didn't make a lot of sense.

ITA-EZ'z character and some of the other ones are irritating because of the unevenness of the writing.

Oh, and as for the missing Padre, as someone had mentioned in previous recaps, there was no reason for anyone to think he was missing or dead, since they all figured he was tending to his flock.

I think this week they will probably start looking for him, now that Ben's last will has been declared a fraud along with Ale's DNA results. Everyone is going to want to question Padre A. Hope we get some insight into what really happened to him.

Maricruz

Fatima--Los Pobres Tan Ricos makes a nice change of pace from the horrors of this one, if you still want to practice your Spanish listening skills. There's a lot I don't understand, since the dialog is fast-paced with a lot of slang, and I'm watching without closed captions, but it's basically upbeat and the plot-required skullduggery is played for laughs.

Also, JL should be smart enough to see through Maria's story and her disguise to getting in. If she were wearing a wig to protect her identity in public from Pedro she could just as easily have chosen another.

They will need the padre to testify for Alejandro, but I wonder whether that will involve breaking the seal of the confessional. We all know what happens to priests who do that.

Urban, I especially appreciate your reasoning as to what is happening here. I TOTALLY agree. Go ahead and extend, but let it make some sense. I was ASTOUNDED that Don Ben had already been exhumed, etc and that the DNA had come back so quickly. It's not even believable. I know these things have been a topic of the weekend discussions, but these kinds of stupidities on the parts of the writers are just more than a brain can handle.

I SO wish there were short programs after these TNs ended where we could phone in questions not only to the actors, but to the writers. Wouldn't that be fun?! I want to pick their brains.

What fascinates me is that these things that drive me bonkers, are totally acceptable to the Mexican viewing audience. Darn! Why can't I just be like them and accept what I see at face value?

Getting back to the story, Adolfo could disappear right now and I would be happy. What a wishy washy, spineless, gigolo he is. I just want to slap his face silly. LOL!

As for Maria, Alejandro has bigger fish to worry about. Maria is like a fly; an insignificant nuisance that needs to be swatted. Alejandro needs to focus on Graciela, Pedro, Sandro, and EZ. Therein lies his danger.

JudyB, I think you are right. I will look into Pobres. :))

Fatima

Mads, what a marvelous recap you left us to chew over (along with our jellybeans) and groove with this weekend. Wishing you lots of fun with your company!

As Maricruz pointed out, Adolfo missed his window of opportunity: Pedro isn't letting him leave town, even if he is allowing him to breathe, at least for now.

When EZ told the unnamed bad guy to follow Victor and Nadia, he also said something like "Make sure it looks like an accident." Uh oh.

So what is María's cockamamie scheme now?

She plans to impersonate Montserrat in order to ..... ?

She told Jose Luis that Montserrat's life was in danger so that he would ....?

What an idiot Adolfo was to give her a gun (although did anyone else notice how carefully he handled it, as if to avoid leaving his fingerprints -- "just in case"?)

During Tuesday's episode, Pedro told the judge he was sending someone for Padre Anselmo so that he could testify the following day. (An episode doesn't equal a day. The past few episodes seem to have taken place over the course of a single day. On the other hand, Jose Luis has been in jail for two weeks.) Anyway, very soon Padre Anselmo will be shockingly absent -- or shockingly present.

This show took us all by surprise by unmasking and eliminating Juventino. I'm hoping for a similar fate for Pedro and/or Maria.

Niecie, I was also concerned about Montserrat's wine-stained dress.
--Did they tell the actresses they'd better get it done in a single take?
--Did they rush Montse off-stage, take the dress and soak it in Woolite right away?
(Yes, these are the kinds of things I worry about too. And you should see me fretting when someone bleeds on a white couch!)

NovelaMaven, you are my kind of gal!!

Fatima

Fatima, come on. Niecie started it!
hehehehe

(But if Shallowgal hadn't already appropriated the screen name, I might be considering a name change right now.)

NovelaMaven, you are right!

Niecie, you are definitely my kind of gal, too!!

Fatima :)

Maria impersonated Monserrat in order to later create a witness to tell Alejandro she went to visit JL in the slammer. She would have signed Monserrat's name on the visitor log (although I doubt she could forge her signature). This happened while Monserrat and Carlota were at the bridal shop.

She told JL that Monserrat's life was in danger because she wanted him to get out of there and try to escape, taking Monserrat with him. I'm sure her timing was thought out because of the real possibility (she doesn't realize it was this quick) of Alejandro being framed as an impostor. I doubt, however, that she is aware that Pedro is planning on putting AA back in the slammer for having murdered Don Benjamin; I doubt that Juventino ever confessed his own guilt about that to her and she is unlikely to know that the evil Ben was murdered. That is going to foil her plan.

What should have foiled this plan was JL's brain working at full speed, as it had previously done. If Monserrat's life was truly in danger, why would Maria risk her own by impersonating her?

Once again, Urban excellent commentary on the whys and wherefores of this TN.

JL seems to be the most inconsistent characters in terms of how the writers view him. He is not a stupid man, but the writers have certainly made him look quite stupid at times.

We hardly got to see him grieve for Angelica. The focus has been entirely upon his thoughts of Montserrat. The character has never struck me as being that kind of man. If I were the actor, I think I would have been given the writers "what for" in the way they were writing for me.

Fatima

Fatima, I think that was why Elizabeth Alvarez ended up getting "killed off" of CI, which precipitated the downward slide of that series.

They really have to rethink what they do with remakes.

Excellent point, Urban, re Alvarez in CI. I, too, was stunned when they killed her off.

Fatima

Madelaine, I appreciate your recap and you giving a light touch to the messed up plot.

Hey, I'm psychic! As soon as I saw Fab holding a glass of red wine in the same room as Montse wearing the lovely lavender dress, I knew Montse's dress was toast! Of course she couldn't have on jeans and a tee or even a print dress. Naw, had to be pale and solid.

Can't believe Victor and Nadia dawdled around and waited to leave town. Neither Nadia nor Adolfo have much brain power.

Madelaine,
Thanks for the excellent recap and the earworms. Your style of writing makes the epi sound more entertaining than it actually is.

I love the actors in this novela, but I am so tired of some of the plots. The writers need to get a clue. The plot driving me up the wall right now is Pedro and his insistance on bringing down anyone that disagrees with him. Especially Ale. I had never had any problems watching Peddy, but last night I just wanted to FF through that scene with Ale, Pedo and the judge. I have had just about enough of him. Really don't want to see Ale go to jail again. And BM trying to be Montse? Pleez! She has some mental issues. I am out of time. More comments later. Have a great Easter weekend and Passover everyone!

Back to work...hasta pronto!

My God. Have any of you read or seen this? :

http://www.latinopost.com/articles/4686/20140305/lo-que-la-vida-me-rob%C3%B3-gets-390-episodes-angelique-boyer-says-extension-is-a-second-chance-for-creativity.htm

390 EPISODES?????!!!! YIKES!

Stevey, thank you for the link. This question has come up several times. The show is shown in half hour sessions in Mexico versus the hour long program we see here in the States which is why they came up with the 390 total espisodes.

The show will end in July (possibly August if I remember the comments of our seasoned Caray veterans).

So, yes, we are aware of the extensions and the July/August end dates. Thank you for the link and for commenting. :))Hope to see you here again.

Fatima

I went to the link. It still leaves you wondering "why?" this particular TN is being extended.
Curiouser and Curiouser.

It all comes down to advertising $$$. It is a very popular novela so they will milk it for all the $$$ they can get.

Jarifa

Angelique Boyer herself confirmed that there will be 390 capitulos in Mexico . The article says that it will continiue to stream episodes even after the games.. I like this novela very much and i hope i wont get bored,Robo is like an spanish Anime now without lolis lol

Gracies and Pedros evil are beyond sickening,i have no words ,i prefer not saying what everyone already knows from day 1,its repetetive

I know. Between this and PSMA novela writers are really going over the top in terms of the level of human evil. I never saw the novela about Pablo Escobar but it almost sounds like his life provided some of the inspiration for the Pedro character.

Good Morning Y'all:

Thank you so very much for all your kind words.

I don't know about the 390 episode count. They are only showing 1/2 hour epis in Mexico as Fatima said. We'll have to wait and see. This TN is very popular in Mexico and here in the US, so these writers will have to keep the audience interested for that amount of episodes. It could get interesting!

Urban:

I like your idea of Graceless being hounded by the Furies for eternity. What an anvil!

JudyB:

There is a lot of misery right now, but they can't keep this up forever, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. I've been thinking of the song "Heartless" for Graceless for a long time. That woman has a lump of ice where her heart should be. Will anything melt it?

Jarifa:

I agree with you about the best line from JL to BM "You are Loca", lol. Does she eva listen, nah! It's like talking to the hand.

Diana:

I am so glad you liked the music selection : ) I too agree with you about Fablush. One minute she was the smiling, albeit fake new found cousin and the next thing you know she is going off on both Ale and Monse and the wine dousing. She would have come off better by wailing and crying. I want to see what Fablush and Sandho will do next. You didn't miss a lot with the wedding dress, it was very pretty, but that shoulder rosy thingy has got to go! Maybe they will show a snippet of it again tonight.

DaisynJay:

I hope you found your ham glaze recipe : ) I agree with you about Ale possibly going to jail yet again! Our two male leads have been in the jail for far too long already. I also like the idea that Sandho is fleecing Fablush. If Graceless actually gets anything out of this inheritance, I wonder how long it will take her to blow right through it. If Addled is smart, he'll go straight to Rio, do not pass go, do not collect anything else, just go already!

Emarie:

I really liked your whole comment! I think we are all frustrated right now, but I think it is as DaisynJay said, we are moving into part two. I have to say, my opinion only, that the writers are continuing to surprise me. Just when I think I have it figured out, they swerve and go another way.

Fatima:

Thanks so much, and hey have you looked on the sidebar here on the Caray Caray Blog? There is a wonderful quote that I will put here for you, as far as overthinking this TN:

Just let it go, let your brain float like a canned pear half in partially-set red jello. Creemelo

Creemelo is very wise. I too used to over analyze these TNs. Now I do as the quote says ; )

Maricruz:

Vic and Nadia are a pair of dodos aren't they. I couldn't believe they were leaving in broad daylight. I hope they can make their getaway. As far as Addled goes, we will have to wait and see with him, but he seems to have that little insurance policy and hopefully Pedmeister doesn't eva find that will. Hopefully, Addled did an exist stage left as soon as he had that chat with the Pedmiester.

Fatima:

I really like Gabriel Garcia Marquez and was saddened to hear of his death. I have just ordered "One Hundred Years of Solitude". I loved "Love in the Time of Cholera".

Urban:

I too always speculate about EZ is he bad, good, indifferent. Some of his actions are so typecast, but a lot of the time he does what we don't expect. I always watch his character closely. I want to see what more these writers can come up with for him.

Neice:

I think JL is just frustrated, grieving and doesn't trust Peddy as far as he can see him. He has always known that BM is not right in the head. I think this is why he is making his escape to check it out. He wouldn't leave Refugio in that jail cell foreva. I want to see how JL pulls this off.

Maricruz:

You are right about the Padre of course, I am keeping count simply because I really like the Padre and I want to see how long it takes for someone to realize he is "missing, disappeared, what have you". I notice they didn't call him to testify before the judge. I really want to know what his fate is.

Fatima and JudyB:

Yes, Yes, and Yes, for Pobres. It is the best comedy I have watched/recapped in a while. It is funny and the villain is more like Snidely Whiplash, lol. Jaime Camil is very funny and yes, there is tons of slang, but the commenters and Marta really help me there. I have learned more slang on this TN than in any other and I have to say UFCS had a ton of it too.

Urban:

Most of what the Padre has already said was said in front of others or is common knowledge already. I don't think the Padre would break the seal of the confessional, not even to save his life.

NovelaMaven:

I too am wondering if this will be the time that the Padre is shockingly absent or shocking there. I am keeping count until he makes an appearance so to speak. Thanks for the EZ and the accident part. I wonder how this will pan out. The body count is certainly high already. I did notice how Addled handled that gun. Interesting! I wonder if Addled has gained some grey cells since working for Peddy, or is this wishful thinking?

Urban:

I agree with everything you said about BM. She never thinks ahead, she has tunnel vision as far as Ale goes. She doesn't think about the consequences of anything. She can't think that far ahead : ) I think this will be her downfall, not having the proper plan. She is the dimmest villaina I have eva seen.

La Paloma:

I lol'd at your comment about the wine and the dress! I think the writers telegraphed that big time.

I hope the Padre is not dead and is just kept a prisoner somewhere, him being willingly captive until EZ says " Its time". EZ probably lied to Addie because Addie is stupid and cant keep secrets,he always acts up on heavy pressure and that could ruin EZs dream plan of destroying Pedro. With the Padre being such a powerful witness,EZ killing him would have made no sense .

Auntie Ann:

I think of Peddy as a caricature of a lot of villains. He is a demagogue and thinks he has this power over everyone, but he doesn't really. He orders death and destruction for people that don't agree with him, but so far he's been foiled as far as BM goes. I want to see if Ale does really lose everything he has and if Nadia, Vic and Addled really get bumped off so to speak. I hope EZ and others keep throwing that monkey wrench in his works so to speak.

Demetrios:

These writers do continue to surprise us! I know it repeats things a lot but they do throw dribs and drabs of hints, clues, what have you into the mix. I do look forward to seeing it each night just to see Peddy get foiled : )

A friend of mine is wary of police not as much because of her race but because "When you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas." This would be particularly true of narcs who see a lot of perverse evil and who also would be very vulnerable to their ability to corrupt them with money.

I'm watching Alexis Ayala's facial expressions very carefully for clues. I dearly hope that the writers have planned out his character and shared this information with him so that when the big reveal comes we can at least be satisfied that it makes sense.

Demetrios:

I too think about EZ and the Padre. I'll have to see a body before I believe that the Padre is dead.

Now about EZ, is he really as evil as we think he is? Yes, he did kill that guy while back but EZ thought that guy was about to rape BM. Now that was quite interesting. Most villains could have cared less about that. EZ it seems, uses people for gain, but killing a Padre? I am having a hard time believing that. Not a spoiler, just a guess on my part.

I agree, Madelaine. Back in AB even Leoncerdo -- a true perv -- cringed at the idea of killing a priest. I also have a hard time believing that EZ would do this, especially as the Padre would be an extremely credible witness in the matter of the Almonte will and estate.

Thanks for this very witty, entertaining, and informative recap, Madelaine. Well done once again.

It looks as though our María has made another very bad decision. Could she be suffering from PTSD? She did suffer slashed wrists, poisoning, a gunshot to the face, and goodness knows what effect the fumes from those cleaning agents may have had on that pretty brain. We at the Mesa María may need to keep the sacks handy.

While she's very pretty I've not been much of a Nadia fan, but she impressed me last week. While we all admire Sergio Sendel's phone tossing expertise, Nadia certainly outdid him with that world class computer monitor heave. Wow, I award her a ten for that effort.

I'm anxiously awaiting the return of Padre Anselmo with his Holy Hook... might want to stand back when he confers his blessing.

Carlos

Carlos:

Lol'd for your whole comment. I like the idea of BM smelling those chemical fumes and that going to her head. I liked the Holy Hook Comment especially! Thanks for the great laugh, Carlos ; )

Carlos: "I'm anxiously awaiting the return of Padre Anselmo with his Holy Hook...might want to stand back when he confers his blessing". Still laughing.

Diana

Maria isn't suffering except from her own delusions. It's Adolfo who is seriously suffering from a deficit of grey matter. He has to have been out of his mind to hand her a pistol. No matter what he had with her in the nooky department she would kill him too without a blink of an eye.

UA,

"No matter what he had with her in the nooky department she would kill him too without a blink of an eye."

Unlike Adolfo who did blink a couple of times before pulling the trigger of that pistol aimed at María's head.

Carlos

Hey Mads,

Thanks so much for the great and funny recap! Your comments about Victor and Nadia stopping to have drinks really had me laughing. I actually was getting ready to watch this episode but I fell asleep instead, and so missed all but the last 15 minutes. Your recap gave me everything I needed to catch up.

Looks like tonight is going to be another crazy episode with a lot of points scored for TEAM EVIL. Can't believe the good guys (and we at Caray Caray!) have 3-4 more months!

Best to all and thanks again, Mads!
Julia R

That's because Adolfo still has a little humanity left in him. Maria's was gone long ago.
