TELEMUNDO Y MÁS: La Impostora, week of April 28, 2014

Enjoy!

An interesting episode but kind of a let down after seeing Adriano reunited with his beloved. I was hoping for a little more, but then, Adriano is in Jail.
What more could there be.

How unprofessional. Salvador gives Adriano his phone to use knowing Raquel, et al. are out there? What was that? I had given Salvador more credit than that. He keeps doing unprofessional stuff, or, maybe there is a plan behind all the mistakes he makes? I guess it still has not occurred to him how dangerous and evil Raquel is. Still...give A. a cell phone? worse than a landline.

I was also a bit confused when everyone was so surprised that Rafa and Tita lied. Did not the entire town know, with the exception of Adriano, and maybe Ramon and Jorge that Rafa was not Adriano's son? where did I miss that they didn't know. At least I had the impression they knew but just weren't saying. Guess I miss guessed that one.

Rafa has once again squirmed out of a predicament. I imagine if he ever gets thrown in jail he will worm his way out of that taking the guards money with him. He has a knack for it. He keeps getting closer and closer to the edge, however.

The Blanca thing with the missing watch and the dress that was dirty was just a total bore. Boring Blanca.

First of all, what kind of jail puts white collar criminals (Ramon) in the same cell block as accused murderers (Adriano)? What happened to Adriano's original nice cellmate, and also his prison bookshelf full of light reading? Why didn't the security cameras clearly show Mariana stabbing Soto? And nobody in there ever got a trial? Oh well.

Also, why is nobody talking about Melania's real daughter, wrongly imprisoned? Didn't anybody wonder why her identity was stolen and given to the drugged-up Val?

Aaaaand...I know we're not supposed to comment on the avances, but I really, really don't want to see Val back in those white PJs...

J in Oregon

J N Oregon...I completely forgot about the nice cellmate. Good point about white crime and murderers in the same Jail. Is that how it is done in Mexico? Please say it isn't so...Val in PJs again. Really good points.

Such a predictable and boring episode. But, I thought Adriano was to be the target, and not Soto, so that was the highlight of the evening for me. Puleeze, Mariana forgot to wash her hands hours after her little job?

April--We've needed a scorecard to keep track of all the people that know Rafa is not Adriano's son, starting with Raquel and Tita, way back when. So, don't feel bad. I wanted to know how Val knows, but according to the avances it will be ultimas semanas before we find out.

JinO--I haven't put much thought into the prison population. I've been bothered more by the face-to-face OR glass-booth-phone visitors. If Adriano seems to create such chaos and violence each time he's in the visiting room, they should only permit him to see people behind the glass. (It would require fewer extras, too.)

ITA on the Melania affair. After last night's obvious collusion with Raquel, she deserves an anvil or a pie cart almost as large as Raquel's.

Loath Melania who ignored her own daughter and is completely under Raq's spell.

I think the evil one made a mistake . She set up all that junk at the bank with the safe deposit box in Blanda's name but surely the bank will have video with time on it which would obviate Blanda being in prison to kill Soto.

Blanda looking all over for her watch with Ed as a witness may also help her. If Melania gets the dress cleaned there will be no evidence.

Really hating on Rafa and wished ivan had pulled the trigger. We now know that Tita, Skank, Snoopy, Jorge, Chris and of course Raq know Rafa is not Adriano's. Add Blanca and Val and now Adriano so as usual Ed is the only one in the dark.

Most confusing thing for me in the jailhouse was two inmates in solitary in the same cell and one with a flashlight. Oh, well.

Mariana - hard to juggle a career and motherhood

Raquel - pro playing with amateurs

Blanca - with your winning personality you have no friends

Tita - well it was gonna come out

Rafa - wore out your welcome

Jorge - where'd you get the money for that dress

Val - welcome to your nightmare part deux

Adriano - damn dude call your attorney in NY and get that power of attorney revoked pronto

Ramon - word of advise when you get out, leave town

Ivan - you shot Richie for less

Yes, I have been wondering about the flashlight from the last time Adriano was with Soto in solitary. I thought maybe it was stolen from a guard or something. It IS kind of weird to see it.

Anita, I have been wondering what does ITA mean?

April--ITA = I Totally Agree in virtual shorthand. There are lots of terms like this one that I only learned recently while reading CarayCaray comments. Like OTOH = On the Other Hand. It does save finger-pushing, but of course, everyone has to be "speaking" the same language. There is a website devoted to Acronyms. Not all of them show up, but sometimes it is worth a try if you are puzzled. You do have to keep in mind that the acronym may have dozens of meanings, but still, it gives you an opportunity to start from somewhere.

Couldn't be simpler: http://www.acronymfinder.com/

So remind me...when Ivan came in and pointed the gun at Rafa's head, what did Rafa say to get off the hook? Is he still blowing hot air about coming into all Adriano's money?
Tofie: you are so right, Ritchie, an old and trusted henchman, was blown away for bringing Raq to meet Ivan. And look how that ended...
J in Oregon

Rafa said he had access to Adriano's money and he could have some but Ivan told Rafa it is not his money and he is not Adriano's son (who's he kidding)only a tool and that he would be dead except he had another use for him. After that who know what will happen. Rafa has skated by offering double dealing advise believing he is way smarter and important than he really is. He along with Blanca have worn out their use. Had Adriano really been the braineyack we're lead to believe he would have enlisted Marianas help (instead of Blanca's). Ivan did.

Rafa is a fool ho thinks he can play with the sharks when in reality he is a minnow who they will chew up and spit out ASAP I hope.

This novela doesn't lack for despicable characters but Melania has moved almost to the top for me. She has some nerve threatening Blanca and I hope she ends up sharing a cell or a room in the manicomio with her dear Raq. Who knew the woman had forgery skills.

Did I hear right when Socorro threatened Raq with revealing all to her boys? Did Melania's daughter really cause th "accident" that killed Raq's inconvenient husband? Socorro should watch her back, call dimwit Ed, crafty Chris and befuddled Jorge and tell them everything she knows.

Looks like Blancoria's game is up, Ramon still has no chance with Cat and Chris still doesn't know how to take no for an answer.

Ramon could have Catalina under current Mexican Telenovela Law ONLY if he is the one that ends up being Adriano's son. Of course it's all moot if the parental units end up disgraced and in jail. I want Diego back. Fernanda, not at all.

Agree that Melania moves right up there with Raq in terms of bad endings.

Socorro is threatening to tell the unbelieving trio how their daddy died. So, yes, she is wearing a big red target on her back.

Oh, I suspect that it was Raq herself that caused the accident, but made Melania's daughter take the rap, in exchange for her mother being a servant for life in the Altamira household.

decie G, You did hear right and I thought it lamebrained for Socorro to broadcast to Raquel what she knows and what she'll do with the info. Guess we needed to know Raquel's husband found out about her pining for Adriano and killed him blaming it on Letica.

I wonder about Cat and whats up. She gives Ramon the news she is divorcing Chris but doesn't reciprocate when Ramon expresses his love again, then says she'll wait outside for him but muses- hope he doesn't hate me and then she heads to the salon to get dolled up for someone she just spoke to on the phone.

Blanca - if Jorge covers for you I'll scream

Melania - watch who you're talking to little missy

Ed - clueless in Acapulco

Salvador - maybe the town isn't big enough for the both of you

Rafa - keeping a fortune is harder than accumulating it

Val - no hot water

Ivan - I fail to see the attraction

Raquel - those boys are like herding cats

Mariana - I carry a little bottle of Purell in my purse

Valentina knows about Rafael not being her son because when Raquel forced her to write the letters, she revealed that she was going to have an impostor son...and she gave her Rafael's name! I remember this.

What is going on with Ivan's tongue? Does anybody here something off in his manner of speech? Some of this words sound thick, or like he has a lisp, I can't figure it out.

Where the heck is Simona? Is her storyline done? What about that little brother Hugo? Blanca's whole family weren't prominent figures in this novela. Like an uninteresting side dish.

Blanca has some nerve to feel entitled in that house. She needs to start doing her own laundry, or is that part of her insomnia, too? She only forgot that she comes from nothing. She's so boring! I'm actually rooting for Mariana to end up happy.

I can't believe Tita is sticking to the lie. She knows her son is scum, but hey, I guess that's a mother's love.

In regards to the stabbing at the jail, they have goddamn video of what happened!! Hello! You remember Mariana looking up at the camera in the corner, before she stabbed Soto? Come on, now. How stupid do they think the audience is? Eduardo stupid, or Jorge stupid? I can't decide.

Where the hell is Fernanda!?

I'm not done with theast episode. Will update in a few minutes.

*hear

*the last episode

This novela has me so mad, I can't even spell right.

Right, thanks for the memory jog about the letter.

Blanca has forgotten her place plenty and way, way over her. I'm distressed the only guy that seems to uncover anything with half a brain, Salvador, salivates when he sees her. god

I like Mariana, guns, knives and all and Adriano would have done well had he hooked up with her to solve his 20 year mystery.

Sick of seeing those three boys standing there with mouths agape as momma barks orders and belittles.

I was hopeful things would move a bit and get interesting with Val on the loose but that was for naught.

And the whole center of the La Impostora story line the last month, Rafa, stick a fork in me I'm done.

Okay, cool. Simona showed up and said something useful to Jorge.

Whooooooooaaa. Ivan wants to meet the family? For a long time lothario who had access to the hottest chicks, and is the head of a mafia enterprise, he's suddenly in love? With Raquel? Well, I guess even George Clooney got engaged, so why not.

I wondered what Ivan said that Raq cut him off and he glared at him. As for he lisp thing that's his Castilian accent.

Loath Marianna who is a multi murderess who can kill a man while talking to her child on the phone. She belongs with Fernanda, Tuerto and who knows who else dead and gone.

Marianna was very careful to avoid looking at the camera and there was something about the time she was concerned with. I think that might have been syncing with what Raq was doing with Blanda at the bank.

I don't care how goofy the story gets it amuses me many times over the rest of them. At least something happens.

I bailed on SMAa because i came to hate every single character and Art is the worst galan ever, Pobres got left behind because the hospital didn't have the channel and MA was getting on my nerves. This one is at least short

Wow, so now all three boys know that Momma was carryin' on with Cousin Rafa. Oooh. Why don't they all just man up and confront her instead of pussyfooting around trying to smooth things over?

So Leticia was railroaded into jail on (false) charges of killing Raq's hubby, is that right? I hope the writers get around to letting her out of jail, she is going to have one chip on her shoulder. By why on earth would Melania agree to that? For job security as a housekeeper?
J in Oregon

Don't know about all y'all, but here on the West coast, La Imp was preempted Wednesday nite for futbol.
J in Oregon

Oh No J n Oregon... No our show was not pre-empted. Will they show the episode later tonight?

Highlights for you...Ramon is out of jail. Catalina and R. were so happy and enjoying his freedom at Tita's until Rafa shows up. R. belts Rafa twice making him fall over and tells all in Tita's cafe that Rafa is a liar and is in no way Adriano's son. Tita confesses but Rafa doesn't. Ooooo. Jorge confronts Boring Blanca and tells her basically she is a money grabber and she denies it and cries. Then Blanca calls and tells Raq Jorge knows she is an impostor. Jorge confronts Karina, demands to know if she knew about Blanca, when she says she did, he accuses her of not trusting him, more loyal to Blanca than to him, and money grubbing. Then Jorge is kidnapped by some grubby types while he is on his motorcycle. This is at the same time Raq brings out the fake letter to show Eduardo. Still clueless he forgives her (letter doesn't mention the impostora part, of course). In the meantime it is discovered that it was "Blanca" that killed Soto. They have the video. Estrada is not convinced as he can't see her face in the video but holds his hands over his face like it wouldn't take much to convince him. Ivan visits Adriano in jail (phone less) and tells him Rafa gave Ivan all Adriano's money, and then Rafa goes to Mariana's asking for help to get away from Ivan. Mariana tells him not to play around and get out because Ivan will kill him for sure and gives him a map of the best way to get to the US without Ivan finding him via some friends she calls on the phone. He will do this the day of the wedding. Oh yes, and Sophia finds the red dress on the bed, why it is conveniently on the bed when she is there is anyone's guess, and discovers blood stains on it. Blanca says it is probably not blood but a marker and all go happily , sort of, on their way. Hope that gets you caught up. Oh, I forgot, Ramon goes to Cat's Dad's office and tells Cat's Dad he has manipulated his daughter (oh I forgot to mention that Ramon told Cat to go away because she did not tell him that it was her Dad that got him in jail along with Rafa in the first place...she cries and wants to be with him) he no longer has to worry about him seeing her and will expose him for allowing Adriano to be in jail when he is innocent. I don't think I left anything out. I hope not anyway. If I did I am sure the others will fill you in. The upcoming scenes for tomorrows episode look very good hope we all get to see it.

April

April--thank you VERY MUCH for filling in with the recap. When soccer ended last night it went right to Camelia la Tejana. Your recap was so complete that I am feeling much less sulky. :o)
Did we see anything of Valentina last night?
Oh, and didn't Mariana give the bloody dress to Melanie to "clean" when she got done murdering Soto? Guess not (my captioning has been out lately). I know Blanca was getting all hissy with Melania about going in her room.
Okay, thanks again. I'm ready for tonight!
J in Oregon

April--You effectively cut all the action down to 3 min. what it took the writers 44 min. to unfold. BRAVA.

Blanca has been wearing that silly green one-shouldered dress far too long (and it was far too short). It needs to be retired.

When Melania returned the red dress, it was all folded up. Who in these days of synthetic wash and wear folds up a dress (even if it had been silk, same thing)? It should have been on a hanger and put back in Victoria's closet without mentioning it. It just means WE were meant to see that MeanieMelania is in up to her earrings.

Blanda Blanca. I'm amazed at how her vocal and facial expressions never change, always monotone, blank and sad-eyed. She's more interesting in the rolling credits and the breaks.

There have been so many crosses and bouble-crosses I need a score-card for this too. Is Mariana really going to help Rafa or is she leading the lamb to slaughter. She doesn't dare double cross Ivan at this point.

So, Raq's plan to "destroy" Blanca is to embarrass her at her wedding. I still don't understand how Blanca is going to marry Ed with a fake name. Are her false documents that good? What about Salvador--(Help, somebody...doesn't he know she's leading a double life?)

Loved Rafa getting two right crosses and still protesting he's indeed Adriano's son in front of his mother. That takes chutzpa.

Glad Jorge got in a verbal spar with Blanca. She so deserves it.

The goons that kidnapped him, of course, are in Raquel's pay. This ought to be fun.

JinO--Yes to Mariana giving the dress to Melania to clean. Guess she or the laundry didn't do a very good job.

In AZ the show came on early so I missed the transition from Ed Blanca and Jorge at the house and found them all snarky in Ed's bar. Missed the last part because of a phone call so thanks for the summary.

Jorge on his high horse annoyed me big time. He refused to listen to either the skank or Blanca and made a snap judgement, this from the guy who sent months pretending to be poor while sniffing around his friend's girl.

The thugs are in Raq's pay but she let them believe that Blanca ordered Jorge's kidnapping or told them to tell her idiot son that was who was behind it.

There was another telling scene to me when Ed, the only one who seems to give a rat's hinny, was pushing Raq about the whereabouts of his Tia Val. She tells him he is the most important thing in the world to her but blows him off. I'm taking this as one more sign that he is Val's son.

Interesting too that Raq loves him so much and yet is willing to have him humiliated in public and have his true love taken away to the carcel for murder, fraud, stealing, kidnapping and God knows what else. Raq's problem is that she always go for over kill.

Obviously Melania had ben told not to clean the dress. What a tool.

Rafa is not long for this world with his map provided by Mariana and her "friends".

So now Ramon is carrying the Adriano banner and and along with Socorro likely to get killed.

Cat - so that's the thanks I get

Ramon - don't ya think you're overreacting a wee bit

Clemente - get back in line an arms length behind the guy in front

Vicki - penniless, you?

Blanca - sick of your lame excuses

Jorge - inconvenient truth

Raquel - most mothers would just send him to his room

Socorro - girl that kicked the hornets nest

Rafa - undocumented worker

Adriano - left with only the jumpsuit on your back

Sofia - and there are going to be fireworks at the wedding too

Melania - dry clean only

You really have to feel sorry for Sofia. She has some horrific shocks coming her way, Mama the super heroine is a mafia murderer and with any luck will end up dead, Vicky is really Blanca and is going to be off to the carcel for a variety of alleged crimes. Granny is a monster. Ed the lightweight better start looking for psychiatric help for the poor little mite.

yes, I feel sorry for Sofia too (and Hugo who is all but forgotten, the poor kid was so glad to see Ramon the only decent dude around). Clueless Ed can sure pick um. First Mariana & now Blanca, both live a double life.

Okay Thursday nite's episode was exciting! Ramon dumps Cata. Salvatore get the boot, thanks to intervention by the Governator. Still no sign of Valentina. Jorge escapes his dumb captor and shows up at the church. The church was not even half full for the big Altamira wedding (just like at Chris and Cata's wedding). Maybe people in Acapulco have better stuff to do.

Fashion comments: Simona's hippie headband was odd, Mariana wore a restrained black dress, Victoria's backless wedding dress was as ugly as we thought it would be.

Sorry for talking about the avances, but gotta say, Blanca looked better in that gray jailhouse shirt than in anything else she has worn on the show.
J in Oregon

JinO--I'll add to the exciting action last night:

1. Adriano's shower. He sure gets a lot of them--and then instantly dries in order to talk to the Commandante. That's always exciting!

2. Hugo's transportation to the wedding via car trunk.

3. Blanca's absolutely blank look when the Commandante showed up and stopped the wedding at the precise moment when she had to fess up. How exciting was that! You'd think this would have been the absolutely perfect timing to faint, a la telenovela style.

4. Ramon relents and asks Cat to help him clear Adriano. Cat hesitates because it might mean implicating her pappi, but it also means she can stay close to Ramey. Excitement to come later.

5. The goon was stupid to leave his lighter on the table. Yay Jorge. I think this WAS the most exciting moment in the last month.

6. Rafa makes a BIG mistake telling Karina he has to leave for the States and NO ONE can know. Poor Karina. I can see Ivan going after her and she ends up in bed with him, without her bra. Better excitement than Raq 'n Ivey.

The first thing I was going to mention today was how few people were attending the Wedding of the Year. I like J's explanation--people had better things to do. I wondered about--tickets being handed out and there weren't enough to extend one to Hugo? He and Sofia could have driven the whole car in and not taken up all the empty space.

Don't forget none of Victoria's family or friends could come from the States because of course there aren't any. Raq thinks she the queen bee but has no friends either.

The goon left the lighter deliberately so Jorge could escape and disrupt the wedding.

Obviously Blanca thought that since in her real letter she had explained all and been forgiven the wedding would take place under her true name. She was stunned when it didn't go that way and maybe her pea brain started thinking that she had been played. She was smart in the beginning and maybe that character will return.

Every time I have a glimmer of hope that Clemente isn't a complete rat bastard he does something to prove me wrong like getting Sal pulled off the case.

Raq has really stacked the deck against Blanca, the murder tape, the safe deposit box in her name which is sure to have all the missing jewelry in it, all the electronic messages the lawyer or PI assembled. When she wants someone locked up she goes the extra mile.

It occurs to me that Domingo might get out of that church ASAP before the she devil turns her focus on him.

Too bad i don't feel one ounce of pity for Tita or Rafa. He played both ends against the middle too often was so far out of his league it was ridiculous. And, Tita aided and abetted his lies.

Decie--You are probably 100% correct that the goon left the lighter on the table deliberately, but he was dumb enough to take a chance that Jorge would be willing to burn himself to get loose.

I hadn't thought about Domingo being in any danger. Yes, he ought to get out of La Impostora ASAP--and maybe he can lend a hand over on Siempre Tuya, Acapulco.

I noticed the sly looks between Mariana and Raquel during the ceremony when things got hot for Blanca.

Did anyone notice if Ivan came to the wedding? I was distracted by other things going on there.

Decie Girl--Something else Raq has stacked up against Blanca--The Dress with the blood stain.

Ivan was not there. Domingo has bigger problems than the witch coming after him. He got money for the engagement party from ivan who told him now I own you. He should hide away with Socorro for a while and see if they can find poor Val.

I caught those looks between the witches as well. They are really enjoying their plot. I just hope when the days of reckoning come we have more that one scene or episode with them getting their just desserts.

I can't believe any woman who calls herself a loving mother setting up her beloved son to be publicly hurt and humiliated the way Raq did.

I wonder how long it will be before Blanca starts admitting that Adriano was right all along and that Raq killed her father.

Am I the only one who found it odd that Adriano had a tape recorder while talking to slimy Ivan and got the gun running confession on tape. Sal said it wasn't enough but maybe that will be the first chip in the evil alliance.

Rafa ought to think about witness protection rather than a run for El Norte.

Decie, I wondered where Adriano's li'l tape recorder came from, maybe on loan from Salvatore? But I don't think Ivan said anything too incriminating.

BTW, Jorge's escape scene was reminiscent of Padre Camilo's...only the Padre used a knife they used to cut the pizza. That was right before he got in the getaway car and had the pre-planned accident. Has anyone done a body count?

J in Oregon

Why was Socorro invited to the wedding? That makes no sense. Even Mariana and Simona just showed up at the last minute, so it's not like they were strict with the invitations.

Really, couldn't they get a better wedding dress than that? And was Blanca wearing flats?

Decie--That "loving mother" personality will still be in evidence after the brouhaha. She will be horrified, distraught and blame Salvador. Since it was Clemente that squealed, her hands are clean. All she cared about was taking Blanca down, regardless of who was in the way.

Anon@3:58--Yes, the wardrobe dept. chose the "best" ugly dress they could find for Blanca. I'm convinced that Lisette has a hard-to-fit figure and they've decided the pleated tents they pick are the most suitable. I mentioned it earlier that I thought Lisette looks best in the credits and the breaks--especially the one where she's walking through the door.

If Blanca was wearing flats (I didn't notice), it's so Ed would be taller than she is, when it counted. They are almost the same height and she's taller than Eddie when she wears heels.

Anita

Of course she will be horrified but I remember Blanca telling Jorge that his mother knew the whole story. Even throwing a fit as she will Raq still has deliberately hurt her own son which ups her despicable quotient mightily.

Ugliest outfits ever on a dreadful actress. I've never seen Lisette in anything else and i hope i never do in the future. To call her performance wooden is an insult to trees everywhere.

Decie--Raq'll manage to play innocent and say that Blanca was lying and she can ask Eduardo to show Jorge the letter "Blanca" wrote to Ed--once Blanca is safely behind bars. Jorge will think that's the "confession" that Blanca says Raquel
"knew all about."

P.S. Decie--I don't think Raquel ever really wanted Blanca to marry Ed after she found out Victoria was an imposter with no money. She probably figures Ed will get over it.

She's so used to manipulating her sons' lives that this is no biggie. She'll also figure a way to make it look good in the media--Business Magnate's Son's Wedding to a Swindler is Avoided. Imposter is Now Behind Bars Thanks To Quick Action by Police.

I'm watching it now, and she's a horrific actress. No emotion.

Decie: "To call her performance wooden is an insult to trees everywhere"...ha! true!

Okay: Ed goes on a drunken bender and destroys entire wedding cake. Nooooo!!! Eat the cake, it will make you feel better!

I secretly wanted to see the comandante turn the water hose on Blanca, that's how irritating she is.

Eduardo wakes up in his daughter's bed and sighs deeply, blasting hangover breath all over her. Did anyone else think this was weird?

Blanca gets all hissy and argumentative in court, she and Raquel exchange barbs while Raq is testifying. Again, very annoying. I noticed Blanca's blond attorney was not present at the "trial".

J in Oregon

This TN has turned out to be quite the comedy and I laughed all the way through. That comedic pair Blanca and Ed keep me in stitches.

Salvador - look around, tell me one person that comes out better after encountering Blanca

Blanca - some people are takers

Raquel - villainy is an aphrodisiac

Ed - stop sniffling you're not the first nor be the last to be duped by a skank

Adriano - a ranting lunatic does not a good witness make

Sofia - nothing you did honey she's just selfish

Hugo - nothing you did honey she's just selfish

Rafa - why are you still here?

Mariana - good luck with the new hire

Karina - trash goes outside

Jorge - you can start in the mailroom

Cat - and you're angry with the last person in town that didn't know

Why do any and all Mexican telenovela courtroom scenes make me grind my teeth. I see in this one they got some of the procedures correct. There *seems* to be a jury box with people in it. There is a judge's bench and a chair for witnesses.

Where are the two attorneys that are supposed to be presenting testimony through questions and answers.

Raquel just gets to ramble on making accusatory, inflamatory statements? The judge doesn't step in?

Where are the exhibits, evidence? Adriano comes in an orange jump suit and handcuffs? You might as well have had leg irons on him, you couldn't make him look more prejudicial to Blanca's case.

And sad-eyed Blanca, with tear stained cheeks engages the witness in an exchange with Raquel?

Is this Mexican justice? What a sham.

I didn't feel sorry for Blanca. She's doing a good enough job feeling sorry for herself.

But I did feel sorry for Salvador, who lost his job because of her--and Adriano, trying to administer justice. I'm sure he feels somewhat betrayed either by believing in the wrong people or powerless to fight against corruption. He's clueless.

Anita, why does Adriano even still give a rat's patootie what happens to Blanca? She has shown him clearly enough that she has no loyalty, and is willing to believe the worst of himi. Wish he had kicked her to the curb. But I'm sayin'. This TN is bringing out the worst in me.
:o)
J in Oregon

Anita

I too laughed at the so called Mexican justice system. The attorneys not asking questions, Raq telling her lies with no interruption. I liked Blanca speaking up for all the good it will do. The judge did remind the "jury" that Adriano was a criminal so what he said wasn't worth anything.

I'm thinking that someday soon Adriano will be out because it looks like Ramon found something in the death of Memo. With about 40 episodes to go I can't believe we are going to have half the cast in prison all the so called good folks while the rat bastards run amok. Doesn't make for good story telling.

I've added Jorge who i've sometimes defended to my list of hapless morons. Like almost everyone else in this tale he jumps to conclusions and has no loyalty to anyone.

Adriano defends Blanca because he came to love her like a daughter, knows she is innocent and also knows how vile Raq is and how manipulative she is. After all Blanca is supposed to be an unsophisticated naco from the barrio who is as out of her league with Raq as Rafa is with Ivan.

Can't help thinking that Sofia is either going to see something or hear something that will have an impact on what happens going forward.

I was glad to see that Ed's losing it scene was somewhat restrained, no red rimmed eys, quivering lips and running nose which is how those things usually go. I could really feel how shocked and betrayed he felt.

Since I do not know anything about how law works in Mexico, I have always assumed it to be corrupt, I can only compare to the United States. For instance when they handcuffed Blanca her hands were in front. When I was in court hands were in front but chains also going down to legs, suits were orange like Adriano's though. inmates brought in with there suits for their own re-trails. I think here we handcuff in the back for the ride in the police car to the police station.

I thought Blanca looked so much prettier without all that makeup she usually wears and her hair pulled back.

To ramble some. Who took Hugo home from the wedding? Blanca had told someone, can't remember who, that she thought Hugo was too young for the wedding and should not attend. There was no one at home to watch him so good thing he took the car trunk ride. Riding in the trunk of a car is rather dangerous. Did he ride back home in the trunk of a car? Hugo is going to need some psychiatric help along with Sophia. No one seems to care. Sophia will get her help, Hugo will be on his own. Sigh!

When is the red dress going to appear? I noticed that Melania gave the dress to another worker to wash. Knowing the circumstances should she have not washed it herself? The washing machine was a top loading machine, and small at that. Rich people would probably have a newer HE machine that loads from the side, in a pretty color. Just my thoughts.

Anita-I forgot that Blanca had told Jorge about the confession in the letter. Thanks for reminding me. Hope Blanca has learned her lesson and never puts anything that should be said to someone in person on paper. A lesson she needed to learn, apparently.

The attraction of Ivan and Raq is probably pretend on their parts, each wanting something from the other, but if it is not pretend and real it is because they admire each others evilness and there are no others that can understand and rejoice in their evilness as they do each other.

It is raining here. I guess that is what brought on the rambling.

Hugo went home from the wedding with Snoopy. Her lies and gossip are running through Ed's mind making him think that Blanca was a prostitute. I just hope what while he is doing all his thinking he remembers Blanca telling him or trying to tell him she was an Impostor at the opening of his bar.

The whole problem with the confession letter is that it is a fake written by the odious Mrs. Danvers oh make that Melania.

I'm wondering if Blanca will end up in the same prison as Letty and they can compare notes about Raq.

I think Raq thinks she has ivan under her thumb and I wonder if he is just stringing her along. There may be some hot attraction between them (Yuck) but at heart it is all business and either one of them wold turn on the other in a snap.

Blanca could have saved herself and most of the town folk had she just told Ed the truth in person weeks ago instead of trying to ride the love wagon. Being associated with Blanca is just as toxic as being on the wrong side of Raquel. Directly related to, though with a little assist, her daddy's dead, woman copper and the padre dead, Fernanda missing, Socorro arrested, Domingo about to be arrested, Rafa threatened, Ramon loses his portfolio, Salvador unemployed, Ed crushed, Jorge back with mamma after being kidnapped, Adriano in jail, Hugo abandoned, Somina running wild, Cat pissed at Ramon, Sofie feeling abandoned and Val re-interned. If only Adriano had hired a professional like Mariana, he, Val and their real child would be in NY right now. As distasteful as Karina is she had the good sense trying to convince Blanca to come clean. Instead got excuse after excuse after excuse. When I run across someone like her that is trouble with a capital T I give them a wide berth. Somebody just shoot her and announce a holiday.

Someone mentioned the other day they had not seen Lisette in anything before and nor had I but saw her on the MundoFox Infames series as a blond. Same facial expressions, same stick woman stumbling walk. Who cast her in this thing anyway, a boyfriend I guess.

Tofie thanks for the "body count".
BTW, recall that when Ivan, Ramon and assorted henchmen showed up at Mariana's after the wedding, Sofia spotted Ramon and cried "it's the kidnapper!". Mariana quickly sent Sofie to her room but I'm guessing she will eventually tell someone about it.

yes, I heard Sofia say that too and now he works for Mariana so will be around

Sofia pointed out Rafa as the kidnapper back sat Chris and Cat's wedding. Of course no one believed her.

Talking about body counts Raq is responsible for six, the nurse, Memo, the Padre, the cop, Tuerto and Fernanda.

Mariana has four to her credit he guy at the club, Soto, the diplomat and the cop.

Ivan only has Richie on his hands that we know of.

I hope all three of them end up dead at the end. none of them have a single redeeming quality.

Clemente has sent at least three innocent people to prison and deserves to end up there himself.

Decie, I forgot about Sofia seeing Rafa at the wedding and trying to tell someone--the adults simply dismissed her statements.

I just don't get Clemente. What are the writers doing with his character? He runs like hot and cold water when it comes to standing up for Catalina. By the way, is Ramon "off" Cata because he found out her dad had him put in prison?

Ramon is "off" Cat and told her at Tita's restaurant. She didn't disclose all she knew & when she knew it, not wanting to see her father in prison. How, on the one hand help him because she cares, but at the same time know the Clemente/Raquel alliance puts innocents away that get in the way. Also, she doesn't know what it is like to spend 30 days in prison with the possibility of never getting out & b) Ramon wants to free Adriano now believing he too innocent. It's the same struggle for her as it is with the Altamira boys except Cat knows for certain her fathers shenanigans and only one of the sons (Chris) has begun to seriously consider. I guess Cat confronting Ramon, after the wedding disclosure that Blanca an Impostor and he must have known, the moral equivalent to her to hit back at Ramon. I wish Cat would call her brother Diego and talk this through about their father for perspective. Does Cat forfeit her privilege (won with the backing of a vile Raquel) knowing her father cooks evidence & trumps up charges to imprison the innocent or want the equal application of the law for all.

Thanks Tofie. BTW, the "chemistry" between Cat and Ramon has never seemed convincing to me, but rather a forced stereotype: rich girl loves poor boy etc. I think the writers will resuscitate the Cata-Chris relationship at the end.

I'm sure we will see more of Letitia in future, but what about that other "dropped" character, Fernanda? The last we saw of her, Massage Guy was ordered by Raq to take her somewhere for safekeeping I think. Maybe they are hedging their bets in case the writers decide to bring her back.

Only way Cat and Ramon will be together is if he is Adriano's son but unlikely. Bet it is one of the boys they are kinda stupid and Adriano has a stupid streak. Ramon probably a red herring as a romantic entanglement and lost son however Adriano thinks highly of Ramon now and will more so as he jumps in to help. But, so far, anyone that helps comes up with the short stick. What is different for Ramon is he is not doing it for stupid love or for acceptance in high society but because it is the right thing to do having first hand experience.

Fernanda is dead no question in my mind. She serves no purpose by returning.

Cat and Ramon never going to happen. He's off her because of her father and now she is getting all pissy because she thinks he knew about the Blancoria thing, which he didn't. If dumb ass Chris survives she'll go back to him because in the long run she is still a rich girl and not a risk taker. She's kind of dipping her toe in and slumming it with the barrio boy.

I'm not buying Ramon as the son. Leo told Val her son was a fine man and he didn't know Ramon. Raq has assess to the blood and DNA of the missing heir which continues to lead me to her adored Ed. I also like the idea of Ed because he needs a wake up to get into the real world. He is clueless about his Mafia murderous ex and isn't picking up on any of the things Chris is which would make him take a good look at his lying mother. Up until the other night Ed has gone though life wearing rose colored glasses and now it is time for him to learn what a fake world he has been living in all of his life. And he is still the only member of the family concerned about Val.

I lean toward Ed as well Decie G. At the end he is the poor mans son and lives happily ever after with Blanca from the hood. Furthermore he is played by Christian Bach's son and considered one of the leads. No way he just fades away with the Blanca twit and someone else be the guy everyone is searching for. The writers have done a decent job not making it obvious and even showed Raquel visit Ramon unannounced right before the DNA test (wanted Ramon to convince Jorge not to be a priest and come home)

I agree they have set it up well. I look at the little things like when Adriano rescued Sofia and how she immediately took to him, Ed had no problem with him until Raq planted the seed that Blanca and Adriano were lovers or something other than friends, I also remember early on the scenes with Sofia and Val. The little girl was very protective of her and used to stroke her hair. All those things lead me to the conclusion that in the end they will be one big happy family.

I'm thinking that Ivan the terrible is going to use Adriano's money for the shipyard. In the end he Raq and Mariana will be dead or locked up, and the yard will belong most likely to Val. Even if that doesn't go that way Adriano should be able to get his money back.

I'm not crazy about the barrio folks getting anything out of it but I'm sure Snoopy will get her Double D's only to discover that being a gossipy sneak with no personality isn't going to help her reel in a millionaire. I keep remembering how when everyone thought Blanca was Adriano's daughter how they sat around and tried to figure out how they could cash in and that included Ramon.

Raq is evil mother incarnate and I wonder how she will end up. Others as bad like Antonia in LP ended up paralyzed or helpless watching the people they had screwed around with living HEA but Raq committed one sin the others who lived didn't — she had Sofia's puppy killed ergo she must die herself.
