Lo Que La Vida Me Robo 147 - So Many Lies, So Little Time

Basurto/Mendoza Mansion, Aguazul, Campeche, MX

Sandro and EZ have an after-dinner table conversation about Carlota and Graciela after the ladies have left the room to powder their noses. Carlota wants to know about Fabiola. So sad, Fabiola has all the money in the world and she is still alone. Carlota taunts Graciela by asking her if she can see herself in the same place? She has lost her children’s love. Graciela says that things are about to change.

Back in the dining room, EZ Basurto tells Sandro that he regrets that his feelings for his sister-in-law do not parallel those spoken by Sandro about Carlota—Sandro finds Carlota enchanting. Sandro points out Graciela’s beauty, and… as he puffs away on what is surely a Cuban cigar. EZ asks Sandro to take her away!

No-Tell Motel

Back at the No-Tell Motel, Montse and Ale exchange a passionate kiss as soon as she enters the hotel room. She tells Ale that JL doesn’t even care whether Ale is innocent. He will not let Ale and Montse be together. They discuss that JL knew that all the time Ale was in a coma in Buenos Aires. JL probably planned and strategized everything. They have to find a way to be together. Montse cannot bear any more separation.

Montserrat looks dreadful in the green olive color she is wearing.

Basurto/Mendoza Mansion

And in another Aguazul crime against fashion, Sandro is wearing a pumpkin orange sport jacket with a citron yellow shirt. If anyone could pull off those colors, together, it might be Sandro. He really is remarkably handsome. Ah, yes. Your recapper’s mind wanders. Egregious color combinations and other wardrobe infractions easily distract me.

Pedro Presides Over Family Dinner

Pedro is sitting at the head of the table for family dinner in the Governor’s Mansion. Nadia and Victoria are there and they all discuss Victoria’s return to school tomorrow. Nadia is pleased that Victoria will be back in class. The housekeeper takes Victoria out of the room after the child offers a “Buenas Noches, te quiero,” to her mother and a cursory goodnight kiss on the cheek to Pedro. Nadia tells Pedro that she thinks that her brother Adolfo is interested in having a relationship with Josefina. Pedro expresses surprise that Fofito would be interested in one such as Josefina—except for her beautiful money— but Nadia tells Pedro that Josefina has changed a lot. They should have the two for dinner.

Pedro says he would rather have Nadia seeing Josefina as a friend than Montserrat. He feels it was Montserrat who led Nadia into her many errors. Nadia begs to be allowed to continue her friendship with Montserrat but Pedro reminds her that he will not forbid her anything as long as she behaves.

Josefina’s New Digs

Josefina and Victor are talking. Josefina is very worried about Pedro Medina finding out that Victor and Alejandro are here in Aguazul. Josefina has news. She has a letter, dictated by Nadia, written by Josefina. The letter will answer all of Victor’s questions.

Nadia writes that she loves Victor with all her heart, etc., etc. Victor is very moved by this and presses the precious letter to his heart.

NoTell Motel, Starring Montserrat and Alejandro

Montse and Ale discuss an ethical dilemma—once she plotted with Jose Luis (JL) to escape from her husband Alejandro and to run away with JL, and now she is plotting with Alejandro to escape from her husband JL and run away forever with the TRUE love of her life, Alejandro. How is this different from when she decided to try to escape her marriage to Alejandro, Ale wonders?

Montserrat gives him a logically deficient argument stating the two situations are very distinct—not the same at all, really.  She tries to throw in the personal history factor, they have been through sooo much, etc. but she ends up saying that the real reason is that her place is at his side. Nothing else is important but that she be by his side, FOREVER. As an answer to Ale’s moral query, it is not remotely logical and deeply hypocritical. Still, Alejandro seems soothed by Montserrat’s weak apologia.

“Vamanos! “ declares Alejandro. “We need money,” replies Montserrat. She will clear out her savings and sell the house. She wants to go now, to save him but he feels that sooner or later he has to return to Aguazul to clear his name.  Decisions, decisions, always decisions.

Maria Addresses The Pole

Maria does a rather tame dance with the Pole at La Escondida and meets with Adolfito afterward. She comes on to him and when he doesn’t respond, she wonders aloud if he doesn’t like her anymore. Of course, he likes her, says Addie, she has always driven him crazy, but there is another woman…Maria asks if she knows the woman in question. Adolfo doesn’t answer but Maria points out that her fixation on Alejandro never prevented she and Adolfo from enjoying themselves before, so what is different now? They have 20 minutes before her next turn at the Pole. The two get busy, as Adolfo is relieved of his shirt. So much for Adolfo’s true love for Josefina.

Ale and Montserrat Fill Screen Time Being In LOVE

They agree that they are both, there, together. They whisper sweet nothings and Montse swears that nothing could the marks Ale left on her heart.

La Escondida

Maria thanks Adolfo for the roll in the hay, she is much more relaxed now.  He says that any man she had made love to her would never forget her. She is one of a kind. She confesses to Adolfo that Alejandro has never touched her as a woman.

Post quickie, Adolfo has returned to the crowd at La Escondida again. Sandro comes in and reintroduces himself to Adolfo. Adolfo buys him a scotch.

Maria agrees to meet with Sandro—she wants to get revenge on all those who hurt Alejandro; including Sandro and Fabiola and Graciela.

Montserrat’s House
Montserrat Returns Home Late

She and Jose Luis have a big fight. She throws her ring on the floor and condemns him again for lying to her about Alejandro. He explains that it was the best thing for her and for him. She is still pretending that she thinks they pulled the plug on Alejandro. So many lies.

Montse doesn’t care. She screams at Jose Luis and asks for a divorce. She also wants him out of her room!

JL thinks she will be less upset tomorrow and they will talk then.

Maria Meets Sandro

He asks her to meet Graciela tomorrow. He tells Maria that he is Gracie’s lawyer—and more.

Montse and Rosario

Rosario and Montse talk while JL takes Laurito to school. They plan together to make their escape with Alejandro. Rosario will separate out and pack some basic clothes for Montserrat, Laurito and herself and pretend that she is sending them to the cleaners. Montserrat plans to sell the house without Jose Luis finding out. Good luck with that, Montse. Jose Luis is annoying but he is no fool.

Maria Visits Fabiola

Maria visits Fabiola and reminds her that they once were “friends”. Or were they? Did Fabiola just use Maria to get info from her that would destroy Alejandro? Fabs looks a little surprised at this question.

Victoria Goes to School

She is introduced as Governor Pedro Medina’s daughter and Laurito gives her a little wave of recognition. Victoria smiles back at him.

Ale Gets the Scoop On the Fake Will

Adolfo Visits Ale and although Ale is not pleased to see him, Adolfo suggest that he knows the whereabouts of the REAL will of Benjamin Almonte. This gets Alejandro’s attention. The will that disinherited Alejandro was a false one.

Many years before, Adolfo overheard Sandro and Pedro plotting to disinherit Alejandro.

The Adolfo we see in this scene is not the fool ‘Fofito’ who was Pedro Medina’s toady. He tells Alejandro that he is his ally in bringing down his hated brother in law, Pedro Medina. Pedro has destroyed many lives—Alejandro’s, Nadia, Victor and Victoria’s, and, his own. In his mind’s eye he briefly recalls his last conversation with Father Alselmo but returns his attention to the conversation with Alejandro.

Maria Taunts Fabiola

Maria tells Fabiola that she is only recently returned to Aguazul and wanted to visit all her old friends. Maria asks Fabiola if Fabs was her friend OR did she merely use Maria to get information that could destroy Alejandro? She also asks Fabs about Graciela’s testimony against Alejandro, and Fabiola agrees that it was damning in Alejandro’s case.

Maria calls Fabiola a thief and tells Fabs that she knows that the will Fabiola, Sandro and Pedro used to disinherit Alejandro was a fake! Fabiola, Ale’s cousin changed out the will in Ale’s safe for a fake one prepared by Pedro Medina. Maria leaves and tells Fabiola to give Sandro her greetings and a kiss for her, implying that Sandro leaked the info to Maria

Fabiola Fights With Sandro

Fabiola is scared and fighting mad. She picks a fight with Sandro as soon as he enters her door. She accuses him of the ultimate betrayal—somehow Maria Zamudio knows that the will found in Ale’s safe was a false one, forged by Pedro Medina and switched out by Fabs. She is certain that Sandro betrayed her and that not only could she lose her ill-gotten fortune, but they could go to jail!

Fabiola insists that Sandro had to be the leak. He denies it vehemently and accuses Fabiola of being drunk but she insists that Sandro find a way to eliminate Maria Zamudio.

No tell Hotel, hilarious! Thank you for the super fast recap.
I do not comment much but enjoy all the bloggers and love this crazy Novela and the sexy one Ale.

Caray Caray Amigos:

I have missed you, each an every one. Yes, it is I, Elna June, and this is the return of the prodigal recapper. I am committed to creating some order out the chaos of downsizing, even if it takes a while. One box at a time, they say.

In order to recap tonight, I managed to find my MacBook Pro between an unopened box of ladies unmentionables and a kitchen box filled with condiments. One of those boxes was mislabeled, obviously, but I am so tired I could have easily put the Cholula Original Hot Sauce in with my socks. Or worse.

Comcast in back on, and I find myself beginning apartment living again for the first time in 26 years.

The neighborhood is great and absolutely filled with wonderful restaurants and coffee shops. We will certainly not stave, that is for sure.

Thanks again for all of your kind wishes. The move could not have gone better and it is still utterly exhausting.

I am afraid this recap lacks giggles and dash, my friends but I am sure it will return.

Alejandro and Montse do look really good in their kissing scenes and I suppose that is some consolation for the fact that the writers are beating us about the head and face with old plot points; i.e. THE WILL.

JL now just looks grumpy, greasy, unshaven and lame.

Enjoy, and I will join you tomorrow AM.

Elna June

Great work, Elna June.

There is a substantial difference now between the situations: Monse is mature enough to know what she wants and whom she belongs with. It's a crime that nobody else seems to recognize that. Their escape plan, however, needs a lot more work. JL isn't stupid and it would be impossible to sell the house out from under him.

However, living as fugitives still isn't the answer.

No matter his motives, I don't think anyone can trust Adolfo. He has screwed up too many times and I worry about where he is psychologically. We don't know how many times he's killed or why. He could be suffering from PTSD by now, which could be dangerous to everyone around him.

And Maria is just as delusional as ever. Alejandro can't forget that or he's doomed.

Por Favor:

Could someone please remind me of how JL found out that Alejandro was in a coma in Buenos Aires? Dis he really know this the whole time tha he was in jail and ALe and Co were languishing in Argentina?

I find myself a bit dazed and confused.

EJ

Hello Elna June, thank you for your marvelous recap! I had this episode on mute so your recap filled me in perfectly! Loved your comments on the wardrobe choices :)

If I recall correctly, I believe it was Amelia who told JL that Ale was in a coma.

I have to say I agree with you Urban, it is a different situation. Monse chose to marry Ale, they have a child together and due to unfortunate circumstances, they were separated, they're older now and their choice to be together should be respected by everyone, especially JL. It is really unfortunate that ale is now also a fugitive from the law like JL was.

I also want to rant a little about Monse's potential pregnancy. I hate that the writers allow Maria, Fabiola and Monica to have sex plenty of times and not get knocked up but Monse has sex once or twice with JL and boom! Nadia used birth control, why doesn't Monse?! It's really bugging me. Ok that's all, good night!

He didn't know the whole time. Until Pedro kidnapped Victoria he had no clue, along with everyone else, that anyone survived the plane crash.

Amelia told him about Victoria, which led to the conclusion that Nadia had to have survived. JL found out about Alejandro's coma when he and Monserrat came to see Nadia and Pedro had forced her to lie.

Boyerrulli 😍😍😍

How stupid is Maria, thinking she'll just run around and start her "venganza" on those who ruined Alejandro's life? Yup, that's the way to keep a low profile and stay out of Pedro's sight ... go to Fabiola and let her know that you know about the fake will. That's okay, she won't run to Sandro who won't run to Graciela who won't run to Medina. And don't worry, Medina won't let EZ and Adolfo know that he knows that she knows ... and by the way, why is she still alive? Imbecil! That totally won't endanger Nadia, or Victoria, or Carlota ... no, he'll let it all go, "Oops! Sorry, our bad. We'll do better next time. Here, have a drink, smoke your pipe, Governor, it's all good."

So glad to see you back, EJ, hope all is going well with the move.
Wonderful recap, comforting with it's humor.
Loved about Sandro, "Ah, yes. Your recapper’s mind wanders." Re: Orange suit.
Loved about Sando's "popsicle" suit (Thanks Oxnard yesterday)

I think they're making Sandho into sort of a Rhett Butler character-his attitude toward Graceless-"what a woman!". But it is a pale comparison.

Yeah, ITA Anonymous at 5:20. Maria is endangering herself, Fofo, Ale, EZ, and their plan to bring down Pedro. Although I think EZ can take care of himself. Wonder who will take Pedro down in the end. Can't wait.

I have to say I >> through Ale/Monse NoTell Hotel scene and Victor reading the letter-lots of filler going on here, I'm sure the writers/directors think this is the only reason their audience watches. But it's getting tiresome for me.

The Graceless/Sandho/Fabiola stuff is actually more interesting. Loved the EZ/Sandho conversation.
I'm sorry; but EZ is despicable, but fascinating.

The predicament Ale/JL/Monse are in is so bizarre and complex, I would like to know the actual legalities in Mexico, but how would you ask an actual Mexican Lawyer for a real opinion?
"Uh, if a guy and a girl marry, and then one runs away and gets in a plane accident and is in a coma for years, while his last name is removed, uh, are they still married??" You can't even describe the story without sounding ridiculous. LOL.

I give up, I'm just watching and enjoying these great recaps/commments.

I'm seeing it this way:

1. Alejandro's identity was declared invalid, which makes the marriage invalid under Mexican law (This has been done in other novelas).

2. Monserrat's marriage to JL is therefore legal under Mexican law whether Alejandro is dead or alive.

3. We know that the declaration of fraud was itself done fraudulently by way of both perjury and forged documents. It will be a long shot against the odds to disprove this considering the motivations of the characters who did it and the assistance of corrupt others, including that judge (who may be dead by now).

All this could have been resolved by now if Adolfo had only put the authentic will in a safe deposit box. Alas, he's not smart enough.

Welcome home Elna June! Wishing you much happiness in your new abode. May you enjoy your neighborhood and new home to the fullest.

Fabulous recap. I was delighted to see "Montserrat looks dreadful in the green olive color she is wearing". I've been thinking the same thing especially as she has worn the far from flattering ensemble for what seems to be endless days now! Sandho's colorful coat and shocking choice of shirt color were mesmerizing but totally agree if anyone can pull it off, it is Sandho!

There was a special sprinkling of marvelous comments including: "No-Tell Motel", "Egregious color combinations and other wardrobe infractions easily distract me" and "logically deficient argument". Excellent.

Adolfo's character development has been interesting. We don't know the depraved depths to which he has sunk but agre that he is no long the "fool ‘Fofito’ who was Pedro Medina’s toady". That said, I do harbor an affinity for the character.

"I am afraid this recap lacks giggles and dash". Oh no, Elna June. This was wry and wonderful.

E-marie, enjoyed your comment that "think they're making Sandho into sort of a Rhett Butler character-his attitude toward Graceless-"what a woman!". But it is a pale comparison". Agree!

Elna June, thank you!

Diana

Welcome back, Elna June. So glad to hear that you are all settled in. Your sense of humor was there in your recap and comment: your "punny" description of JL: "grumpy, greasy, unshaven and LAME." He sure is lame in every sense of the word. Can you believe he is still out of commission with his broken toe???? What a wimp! Anyway, thanks for the very fine recap.

Graciela sure didn't miss the opportunity to try to poison waters for Dimitrio with his girlfriend. She never misses an opportunity.

Still cannot believe they couldn't have given the actress that plays Maria a few pole dance lessons.

Montse can get money by selling her house. What about her business?

Elna June, so agree with you about Adolfo. Supposedly he is in love with Josefina but just had to have sex with Maria. He is the dog I always thought he was.

It was good to see Montse finally doing what she wanted to do.

So, Fabiola wants Sandro to take care of Maria. Having her out of the way would be a much better option than the writers finding some way for her to join forces with Graciela and Fabiola. That was be a formidable trio of pure evil! LOL

Jarifa

Hot sauce, ladies umentionables...there's some symmetry there methinks:) Wonderful, wonderful recap EJ and this was hardly lacking your usual snark and insight. I actually didn't much care for the episode, but your recap made it awesome.

Welcome to the world of apt. living after a big home. Your neighborhood sounds like mine and I find having the extra time not doing yard work, cleaning a huge house and being able to saunter and walk on beautiful days in the 'hood becomes rather lovely. Wish you years of enjoyment in the new place!

I can only take so much Maria anymore. Can't believe she learned nothing from hitting bottom and her obsession over Ale I'm sure will be front forward now. My head hurts.

And speaking of head hurts, could Fabs have been any more screechy. Heck the cat jumped up and left the room when she started on Sandho. The one issue I have with her, or maybe makeup and clothing, she always looks so fresh and polished. You would think after years of being a lush if not an full alchoholic we would see a character progression to show how that is affecting her. except for the occasional slurring or that perpetually attached wine glass, she looks just fine most of the time. Must be in the contract that everyone who starts pretty has to stay that way.

One thing we should see soon then if they are thinking of running away is Laurito meeting his real daddy. That should be good for a few Kleenex anyway. And now that Victoria is at school, she and the little dude should become BF's. I can see the finale now...fast forward @ 15 years to the wedding of Laurito and Victoria. Better than dealing with ANOTHER Monse wedding.

Daisynjay

Thanks Elna June. I'm so glad that you are settling in so comfortably. This recap is stunningly well-written and it crackles with your mordant humor. One minor thing, you must have been more distracted by Sandro's urbane beauty and defiant sartorial courage (I loved your spot-on description of his attire) than you admit... he was smoking a cigarette, not a cigar.

"She throws her ring on the floor..."

I found that scene fascinating and disorienting... I could have sworn that she removed her ring earlier before storming off to meet Alejandro.

I'm biased, but I thought there was more electricity in that brief tender scene between Adolfo and María than the scene between Ale and Montse.

UA,

I found this interesting:

"He could be suffering from PTSD..."

Yet when a while back I suggested the same thing for María, you rejected it out of hand.

Carlos

Dearest Elna June,

So glad to have you back among us! This recap had all your usual dash and gave me tons of giggles, so thanks so much for doing this in the midst of your unpacking. Your new place sounds marvelous, and I wish you and yours great happiness there.

I especially loved the observations about Sandro and Montse's wardrobe color choices!

Is Sandro being a uber-fashion forward or are his color choices generally stylish for a man in Mexico? There are a number of male students from Mexico on my campus, and I've seen maybe 1-2 sporting red pants a la Hernan from La Tempestad, but even this is pretty rare. Most of them wear jeans and dark pants.

I wonder how popular this bright color pant's trend is? From the characters I've seen who sport it on TNs, they are usually ones who are evil (Sandro, Hernan) or who have a weakness of character (like Adolfo). It seems to signal a man can't be taken seriously. Ale and J-L wear dark or occasionally light pants.

So maybe brightly colored pants is like the black hat in old Westerns?

But, wait, didn't that Arturo guy in Por Siempre Mi Amor wear brightly colored pants, too? I didn't watch that, but wasn't he the galán?

So much for my theory!

Thanks again, Elna June. Thanks, too, to all readers who commented on my recap yesterday. Happy weekend to everyone!

Such a great recap!

I'm so tired of hearing Montse replay the same conversation over and over about how much she loves Ale, while completely rewriting their history in the process to support her lies to JL.

Maria can't dance to save her life! That was the worse dancing I've ever seen on a stage, and she's practically completely covered up, so what are the men ogling at?

Best scene was the kids. Even though the avances for tonight don't look to good for JL, I'm hoping lil' Lauro softens JL's hatred toward his father. Maybe the kids will save the parents.

Elna June:

Welcome back, Elna June, so happy to have you back, and this marvelous recap in the midst of unpacking. You Rock!

I too FF>> through the Monse/Ale love scenes like Emarie does. It does get dull and boring.

I too would like to see Monse sell the house, run off with Ale, Rosy and Lolo and JL not finding out he's homeless. She's not thinking.

Yes, JL didn't know about Ale being in a coma until Amelia found out Vicky was back in Aguazul. He didn't know the whole time and didn't engineer any of this. It was Peddy and EZ. JL had escaped from the prison, but was brought right back there.

So we see a snippet of the Padre this episode, even though in back flash. It was still good to see him.

It's funny the colors that Sandho wears. Every time I see any character that dresses in these colors I think of Hernan, from Tempestad, all those crazy colors.

Maria hasn't changed her game plan, divide and conquer. I'd like to see Maria go up against Gracie, that would be interesting, hmmmmm........

Thanks again Elna June.

Madelaine,

I wonder if that flashback of Padre Anselmo may be a prelude to his return. Wouldn't it be a pick-me-up for all us if he were to show back up?

Also:

Your final "...hmmmmm........"

reminded me, doesn't it seem like JL has been hmmming more and more these past few days?

Carlos

Elna June, glad you are back and settling in to your new home. Thanks for such a fun recap, as someone mentioned earlier it seemed like a lot of filler at the "No Tell Motel" but your re-telling was truly delightful. Loved: " JL now just looks grumpy, greasy, unshaven and lame."

And

"Ah, yes. Your recapper’s mind wanders. Egregious color combinations and other wardrobe infractions easily distract me." You are not the only one distracted. I too stare at Montse's blouse and wonder when she will find something prettier. I like the skirt better. And if anyone can pull of those LOUD colors it's definitely Sandro! And speaking of wardrobe infractions, don't Sandro and Graciela make an excellent couple just based on their tacky wardrobe?

By the way, you asked about how JL found out about Ale, and I think it was Graciela who first told him about Ale's vegetative state. Victoria confirmed he was alive and Pedro confirmed Graciela's story.

Lily, I totally agree with your opinion on Ale and Montse's decision to be together. They were a family first. JL knew Ale was alive and pressured Montse to rush the wedding, on the basis of taking little Laurito on the honeymoon with them since was on vacation. He knew without a doubt she wouldn't marry him if Ale was alive. And in the previews he wants him dead or alive? I'm disliking him even more!

Anon@5:19, yes! Maria is in for a lot of trouble and so are a lot of other people as soon as word gets to Pedro she is alive and pole dancing!

Maricruz

Elna June – Welcome back. I am inspired by how you’ve made moving, downsizing, and unpacking so much fun. Perfect title, great recap. I laughed all the way, but this ditty of a heading is lol: Maria Addresses The Pole.

So Ale and Monse think JL strategized everything. What was there for JL to strategize anyway? JL simply hammered away at Monse till she caved. Sorry Monse, but you ain't that complicated. JL is a hot mess right now, but Monse needs to own up to her own foolishness.

I didn't mind Adolfo getting it on with Maria. It was just sex and he and Fina are still at the pre-relationship stage. I'm curious if he'll be faithful to Fina once/if they get involved though.

Victoria is normally confident and bold, but she was shy entering a new class. Very realistic.

Carlos:

Oh, noes, no resemblance to JL's little hmmmmssss. I have been using this little sniglet in my recaps for a long time. JL just imitated my little sniglet ; )

My Dear Elna June:

Welcome home! What a terrific and witty recap you have given us, including your trademark asides about tragic fashion choices and logical fallacies. It was a pleasure to read this and see the story through your eyes. Thank you so much.

Your neighborhood sounds marvelous. Maybe one day when we grow up... sigh. :D

I got very excited when Sandro brought up Padre Anselmo and Adolfo had his eye --> mind thingy. I thought we were going to learn something about the padre's fate. But no. Drat!

Carlos, the ring thing was interesting. Montserrat DID remove her cootie-covered JL rings before her tryst with Alejandro. I suppose she put them back on before she entered her house so JL wouldn't be suspicious. [HA -- as if that ship hadn't sailed!]

It looked as if both Sandro and EZ were smoking, though we only saw smoke around EZ and no cigarette. These days, smoking is a real marker of evil, isn't it?

I'm growing fond of Sandro's sartorial style. His color choices reflect the architecture and landscape around him. He reminds me of a girl I knew in high school (it was an artsy fartsy kind of school). Some wag said of her that she wore colors you'd use in a painting, but not in your wardrobe. Me, I always thought she looked great.

Graciela comes calling on Mónica! If Mónica didn't fully GET Graciela after hearing the way she insulted Josefina, maybe she'll feel differently now that she is the one being needled. The nerve of Graciela -- the überwhore of the story -- telling Mónica she is disgracing the Mendoza name by living in sin with her bebé! hahahahahahaha!

EJ so happy to see you!!! I continue to be in awe in your ability to recap in transition. I'll comment later but wanted to welcome you back. Take care

Madelaine,

Your hmmms are always signals of your deep pondering and are endearing. JL's on the other hand are less clear. Sometimes, as someone (NovelaMaven perhaps) has noted they seem to be nervous verbal tics. At other times they seem to be condescending and often accusatory. Lastly, they almost appear to be a form of odd guttural (and annoying) punctuation.

Carlos

Dear Caray Caray Friends:

Thank you all so much for your kind words and warm welcome back to the blog. Caray Caray is truly a special place and you are a ine group of humans.

I appreciate the clarification from all about the timing of JL's awareness that Alejandro was still living. I though from the way Montse and Ale speculated, JL might have know the whole time that Ale was alive. How he could have known that while incarcerated is a mystery but, as usual, Montserrat is impulsive and jumps to unwarranted conclusions.

Carlos, I confess that I saw the smoke in the dining table scene at the Bsurto/Mendoza Mansion and inferred that Neon Sandro was smoking a cigar. You are too right, my friend. Sometimes a cigarette is just a cigarette. Ta da da da, and a nod and wink to Freud.

I won't have much time to join you today, but again, thanks to all of you for a warm welcome at my return and the kind reception of the recap.

Sending Kindest Thoughts To All:

Elna June

To all my friends,

Julia R. And Mads, I have often wondered if orang is the new black! Except...Perhaps little Mexican town by the sea just adore orange jackets and pants.
Was the town in La Tempistad also called Agua Azul?

Carlos:

Why thank you kindly dear amigo : ) JL has been doing the hmmmsss quite a bit lately. I want him to change it up with some ohhss thrown in there ; )

I had the same thought you did about the Padre finally making some type of appearance. I've never seen a Padre with a hook, jus' sayin ; )

Caroline:

Welcome to this crazy TN. Please come and comment any time you want to. You are always welcome.

I just hoped they washed down that pole really well after Maria's second act.

We all can imagine where those hands have been. Yuck!

Emarie:

The town in La Tempestad was Nuestra Senora del Mar, we used to call it Our Lady ; )

It was bad enough that JL knew the day of the wedding and that he told Laurito to not tell his mother.

Had Alejandro not awakened, little Victoria would have said he was sleeping in a hospital. No ambiguity here.

Again not liking Monserrat she could atleast be woman enough to tell Jose Luis the truth. I think he deserves this much.

((((Elna June))))...I was so happy to see your name on this excellent recap. I have missed you. I am glad that you are settling into your new nest, and I wish you many happy years settling into a new life in a new place. It sounds as though you are in a nice neighborhood with easy access to restaurants and stores. I live in the country, so I have to get in the car and drive six miles to go to work at the college, grocery shop, bank. However, we have a garage/gas station, hairdresser, and bagel shop very close by. I have not moved very often in my life. The idea of downsizing after being in this house for so many years makes my head spin. Like Scarlet, I will think about that tomorrow because tomorrow is another day.....

Well, Peaches and Herb (Reunited and it feels sooo good) are still in their love bubble. Like many here, I wondered where penniless but still smokin' hot Ale got the cash for all those flowers and candles? Chinese food would have been much more practical, but then our Ale never been very practical.

Ahh..Fofo, you disappoint me. No fine Fina for you. Love May mean never having to say you're sorry, but it also means not sleeping with other women. That quickie quickly put you out of the running for Fina's lovely hand and my respect. Evidently, Fofo and Malria are still friends with...benefits..Bleeccchhh. MALria's new hairstyle is the best she has ever had..sleek, elegant. it shows off her delicate, pretty features, I would think that this actress would be type cast as the pretty girl next door with her lovely face, but no....she has been cast as a crazed, obsessed, drugged, pole dancing ramera who is not above killing her competition.

Carlos, you are right, Montse did take off her ring before she ran off. I'm glad she told JL that she wants a divorce and that the marriage means nothing to her, because we all know that had he been honest with her she never would have married him. He lied to her and had her son lie to her, that was not a good start.

Regarding Marua's poke dancing outfit...que??...black capris and a top ???.. I wear less than that to teach class.

Speaking of Maria's missing dancing skills and the red pants trend...Guess who else cannot dance ...red pants wearing Roy the Boy Toy from AV. He is on the Bailando show Sunday nights and he is terrible.

Poke dancing ???,,,how about POLE dancing.

Mads....Padre Hook....HA

Mony cannot tell JL that Ale is back in town and they are doing the bunny hop nightly at the local Holiday Inn because that could mean death or imprisonment for Ale.

P.s. I kind of like Sandy's Rita's water ice colors. He makes me want to cruise the Caribbean and drink piña coladas with tiny umbrellas while listening to some steel drums.

It would've been sweet if Adolfo had turned Maria down for a quickie. But he's a made man in the mob and has had a one-night-stand life for years. Fina even caught him in bed with three prostitutes. The love of fine Fina can do a lot, but not change a dawg into a Príncipe Azul overnight. Look how long it took Dim to change.

True. I can't imagine Josefina being able to shake that image out of her head.

he may have wondrous eyes, but Adolfo in no way deserves Fina at this point. I don't see a real desire with that quickie with Little Miss No Talent to really change his ways. Maybe the argument is "have fun. your an adult" but with those two, to me, it harkens back more to their self-centeredness and only looking out for themselves. I still will believe Adolfo's claiming to hate Pedro and want to do something when he really does something. I have hopes in that regard, but he has so much to make up for. I thought that if he and Maria both make it out of this thing in one piece, let them ride out into the sunset together.

If the writers go the route of having Fina fall for Adolfo over the next 50 episodes and get into a REAL relationships, honestly, they need to change the title of this TN to "Duped For Love" or the women in this show need to form a support group.

EJ, thanks for the great recap. Glad you’re in your new digs.

I’ve been playing catch up and want to make a few comments about what went on earlier this week.

I thought that outfit that Ros was wearing during the “let’s drug JL” scene—white top and jacket with the pink pants—was very sophisticated and looked really good on her. She’s come a long way.

Her in Gracie’s face scenes were a little scary. She did look like she could channel Prison Ros pretty easily. Someone mentioned before, can’t remember who—sorry, that Ros has a bit of a dark side.

It bothers me that Mons is cheating on JL.

Looking forward to seeing a few of last night’s ep scenes.

Have we turned the corner yet?

Nanette
