Mi corazon es tuyo Tuesday 08/26/14 Time Warner blows

Please feel free to discuss the episode, I got a text from my sister yesterday saying that our cable and internet were not working, I've had issues with TWC in the last few weeks-after I asked them for a lower rate. Well, I get home last night and call them, it seems that the rep I spoke with a few weeks ago was able to lower my rate-by cancelling my DVR service and my internet and making my account a basic one.

After arguing with customer service last night I finally gave up and have to call them again this morning. My apologies for all this, I had no way of watching the episode and am beyond angry that not only was I unable to get a recap up but that a company I've worked with for years basically called me a liar and said the conversation I had with their rep did not happen the way I represented it. This blows.

Eli,

So sorry to hear about your woes with TW. If you give up, I recommend using HULU. I have to wait a day for the episode, but it seems to work just fine.

I loved the way that the parallel conversations between Ana and Fanny and Fernando and Nando went on. They were parent-young adult encounters that were well done by all and very heart-felt on the part of the adults. Jorge remains the king of straight men. Never misses the mark. (Great screen shot of Johnny's competition, BTW, yesterday. Thanks, UA.)

It is interesting to me how some subplots work and others just fall flat. Every time I see Johnny, I have to FF. On the other hand, I would love to know what is going on with Bruno.

Isabruja and her mother are proving to be pretty tiresome villains, too, though I did have to laugh right along with Yolanda when Isabela recounted her adventures with the kids.

So, in conclusion, let's bring on Diego!

Eli, so sorry that your cable difficulties are continuing and can only imagine how frustrating the situation is. I hope everything gets resolved in the manner that you were promised.

I had a phone call right after this began so cannot contribute to the discussion.

Diana

Curses on TW. I hope you get it straightened out soon so you can catch up on the action!

Here's what I remember:

Isabitch got Fer to reluctantly agree to have their engagement party the next day and to give her a credit card for expenses.

Isa went to the house to try to suck up to the kids. Guille and Alex attacked her with water guns, making the non-colorfast dye from her blue blouse run all down her white pants.

Up in the playroom, Alicia, Sebas, and Luz made a drawing of a witch and put it on the dart board. It was obvious to anyone but Isa that the witch represented her, but she insisted on joining in throwing darts at it, which cracked them up.

Then Isa tried to drop in on Nando, but he was busy having a big smoochfest with Ximena in his bedroom so she let them be. I don't think Nando ever got yelled at for having his novia in his bedroom! Maybe Fer didn't know about it.

Isa spent a lot of time being snarky and rude to Ana in a thin veneer of politeness, Ana was ostentatiously overpolite back, and Isa babytalks to everyone, including Nic and Fer.

Ana had a little meltdown and cried on Fanny's shoulder. Fanny agreed to stay and not leave Ana and the kids alone with the witch.

Fanny's horrid ex-boyfriend overheard Laura and Ximena talking about how Fanny's in love with the quesadilla woman's son, and he attacked Leon when he came to the school to see Fanny.

Johnny came to the house dressed as an exterminator and visited with Manuela and claimed to Manuela that he and Ana are siblings (she wondered how they know each other). Manuela told him that the patron is marrying the tarantula, which of course makes him think Ana is available to him again. He and Ana got in a fight in the driveway and Fer arrived just in time for the rescue.

Fer took Nando with him to buy an engagement ring. The clerk had weirdly yellow hair. Nando told Fer all about his relationship with Ximena and he thinks he's in love.

Previews showed Diego arriving and Ana meeting him (first attacking him because she thinks he's a burglar or something). He seems smitten right off the bat.

Eli, I'm sorry you have such a mess on your hands.

My only comment on the show is a TN complaint I've had many times. We see a big event or celebration, like the the engagement party here. (Sometimes it's a wedding.) Yet, the characters are saying it will be tomorrow (or another short deadline) and they still have to issue the invitations, prepare food, decorations, etc. It's both a mystery and an annoyance to me that they expect to pull off this event on such short notice.

It's crazy-making to me, but maybe no more unbelievable that other TN stuff.

During the conversation between Fer and Nando after the jewelers, did Fer say he believed he was in love with Isabruja or Ana? I couldn't understand to whom he referred.

No kidding! Even with a credit card, HOW is Isa going to get guests to attend and make the party arrangements on such short notice! Even if she calls caterers right away and finds one who is available, a caterer still needs some time to procure all the stuff and do the prep work! She's going to have very limited food choices on such short notice!

And the only guests she is likely to have are people with nothing going on and, I suppose, employees and vendors that rely on LC business that she can basically order to attend.

With any luck, this party will be a complete disaster.

Sorry about your recurring issues. Julia thanks for jumping in.

So Johnny grabs Ana again, and thanks to Fernando coming up the drive stops him. When is she going to get a restraining order against that punk?

Ana is right on the edge of breaking down constantly and did have Fanny's shoulder to cry on but it makes me a little uncomfortable she is the nanny and professing her love for the father. I will concede Fanny and Ana's relationship seems more like friends however.

Mayrín Villanueva is doing an awesome job with Isabela's character.

Hope Diego makes a play right away for Ana and it done in front of Fernando.

Not totally buying the Ximena/Nando relationship and when the wind blows the other way she'll be gone.

Oh, Eli. Take comfort maybe in the fact you aren't alone. Seems TW imploded for all it's subscribers for some reason.

I missed bunches of the episode last night, my son kept switching to the Indians game and then didn't always get back in time when the commercials were over. So I'm a bit fuzzy myself on some parts, but I thought I picked up at the end that Fer admitted it was Ana he loved.

Johny made me furious last night. That whole display in the driveway which unfortunately I did see was so uncalled for. What does it take to get the message a woman doesn't want you. Where's a frying pan when you need one...good swat up the side of the head is what he needs. Cripe, even Manuela deserves better.

Isabitch is becoming more annoying by the day. The way she talks down to the kids, and even her fake sweet, mi amor-type voice around Fer makes me want to...well you get my drift.

But I'm loving the fact that Diego has shown up. For some reason, I like the idea Fer may have to watch if his bro goes after Ana. I like Fer, but he screwed up royally and he is not handling this situation well at all. What I don't want to see is Isabitch and Diego go in league to keep their preferred partners. That will tick me off. Let Lisardo be the bad guy ( and when does he show up anyway?)

Daisynjay

So sorry to hear about cable problems, Eli, and hope that it is all fixed soon.

Some points from last night:

After giving Ana the book , Isabela makes a comment about them being able to get along in a civilized manner for the good of Alejandro and the kids. As soon as she leaves the house, Isabela is calling her "la nanaca". In a later meeting with Ana, Isabela calls Ana on her dry skin, poorly conditioned hair and dark circles under her eyes and then askis if she hasn't been sleeping well. Ana says she has been having some nightmares about a really creepy crawly thing and Isabela tells her that disappointments in love cause insomnia and that the book she gave her can help her forget it and let go of the impossible. Finally she suggest a corrector for her dark circles, but then says that she realizes Ana does not have the ability to get fine cosmetics but is sure if she goes to her local store she can find a knock-off. And so it goes.

Nando ends up forgiving Ximena and so he finally has a girl friend and Fernando approves.

Jennifer is all upset and Nico does not know why. She leaves him at lunch without a word about what is wrong. Nico is desperate he does not know what is going on.

Isabela convinces Fernando she needs an engagement party like tomorrow. She will arrange it all. She needs a credit card in her name and also the most important of all: an engagement ring. Yolanda is all excited about the monetary prospects and actually claps her little hands.

Isabela tries to make peace with Fanny for the good of her dad and siblings. She actually clenches her fist when Fanny does not give her a positive reaction.

Next stop for Isabela is with the rest of the kids where Isabela tries to broker a peace and ends up getting shot with water guns full of some sort of blue liquid that stains her white outfit and joioms the kids yelling "Muera!" "Die!" at a picture of a witch not realizing they mean her. The twins later apologize about the water guns with their fingers crossed.

Next stop for Isabela is with Alicia, where of course Isabela calls attention to her zits.

Isabela's rage after each failed attempt is apparent.

At the end, Fernando takes Nando with him to get the ring. Turns out that even though Fernando has lost contact with his bro Diego, Nando has been facetiming. with him and knows all about what he has been up to and him coming to the wedding. Fernando makes the comment that his bro still has not forgiven him. Nando asks him whatever happened between them that they don't talk. We never hear an answer.

Earlier, Johnny shows up as an exterminator and tells Manuela that Ana is his sister. Manuela is all over him.Fernando is not with a guy like Johnny being around his house and tells Ana he does not want to see him in his house again.

Also earlier, Ana confides in Fanny what is going on and how much she loves her dad and how desperate she is. Ana gets a call from her boss at Chicago that he needs her to dance tonight and when she hesitates he reminds her of her debt.

Hope this helps.

Jarifa

Isabela "joins" the kids.

Jarifa

Sorry to hear about your woes Eli. I hope you can see the show w/o TWC.

Thanks Julia. I missed the scene w/Fanny's crazy ex.

tofie, yes Ana needs to get the restraining order now!! I hate how harassment is often portrayed as perseverance.

Also I think many of the predictions made here about Diego and Fer vying for Fanny Sr are true.

Daisynjay, when the kids were playing darts w/the "Isa" pic, I thought of you as you had mentioned it earlier.

When the kids put the witch picture on the dartboard, I thought they were joining us in patio games!

Ana does need to keep Johnny away from her, but that's hard to do since he works at the same club she is forced to keep performing in. I hope Jen is at least moving out of his place and going back to the casita. Cut as many ties as possible.

I'd love to see Ana work out some way to get out of the Chicago contract. Maybe demand a HUGE raise for staying on as a nanny under such conditions and use some of that to buy off the thug boss? I also think it would be nice if Ana stopped wearing a uniform and Fer gave her an additional wardrobe budget so she could wear, like, REALLY expensive jeans and nice flats= shoes and shirts to run around with the kids. I want to see her image match her real status in the house to kind of stick it to Isa. I want her salary to be more than Isa gets from Fer for spending money.

Not going to happen, Julia. It looks like Fernando is going to be horribly henpecked for a while.

When he gets that first credit card bill I hope he has a rage fit at Isabruja. She deserves to be told off.

Sorry about your cable issues. What does TW stand for? I've got Comcast and I hate them too.

Good Job Julia and Jarifa, you about covered all of it.

Yes, the avances show Diego coming right when Ana is coming home from her late night job, and they meet on the driveway. So already Diego is going to know there must be some secret about Ana coming home so late.

Isabela's baby talk is driving me crazy. She talks that way to everyone, and everyone except Fernando seems to hate it. But her 'helpful' hints were hilarious. She really doesn't get it.

Thanks Julia and Jarifa for the well written details.

Diana

Oh, I think she gets it well enough.

Isabitch is trying to show everyone how superior she is with her condescending baby talk and her remarks about the inferior looks of the other females.

She isn't fooling anyone and this is going to come back to bite her on the tuchas.

I hope Fanny treats Isabela like nasty Aranza treated Isabel on Por Siempre Mi Amor, though I doubt it. Fanny is not as mean, spoiled or entitled. Too bad.

No, Fanny isn't going there.

Of course when Isabitch's baby is born she will want a different nanny because she will convince herself -- and try to convince others -- that Ana will harm her baby.

In the meantime I can see Diego seeing through her within two episodes.

The only person that has not seen through Isabela is Fernando. Ah, flattery is very seductive.

Fanny asked if Ana was going to quit the club but she said she has a contract and had borrowed money. Did they ever say the length of the contract even if she pays all the money back. Doesn't seem Juan is paying much on what he owes.

The contract was for a year to get the loan to pay for fixes on the house. I don't know if it stipulates that she has to work the full year even if she comes up with other money to pay it back sooner.

She could always turn herself into a bad and unappealing dancer so the sleazebag will want her to leave.

Eli: poor TWC customer service. Exactly why I switched to FiOS a few years ago. I'd finally had it.

Thanks Julia and Jarifa for the recap.

Daisy: a TWC tech (we have TWC Busiiness Class at work) told me that things are a bit wonky because of the possible merger (with Comcast, I think).

I'm worried that Diego is going to go after Ana as revenge for Fer getting Fanny Sr (assuming that's their deal).

Tofie: I thought Ana's contract was for a year, but I may be wrong.

I see from the previews that Guy Who Needs A Shave is finally coming to town.

Nanette

Ouch, a year she is tied to the place and if Jenny needs medical care or surgery she may never get the loan paid off. The guy owns her.

I had Comcast for ever and it was horrible and 5 years ago FiOS was offered and I made the leap. While all internet, phone and TV connectivity spotty at times it is like night and day.

I would certainly hope Isa would get a different nanny for her baby, because a. Ana shouldn't have to be saddled with Isa's additional bitchery regarding Isa's own child, and b. it would be too much work to take care of a baby AND the others, and c. it would be a total drag for the other kids to have their nanny unavailable to take them places or tutor and play with them because she's constantly feeding or changing an infant.

I mean, assuming this how circus doesn't blow up before Isa's baby is even born.

I'm sure Isa will try everything she can to get the kids shipped off to boarding school and Ana dismissed long before then. I'm wondering just how persuasive she can be and how brain-dead she can manage to make Fer.

Well, she's got a good start ... he's pretty brain dead already!

Ack, I'm still in the fight with TWC, they claim the new price given to me by c/s did NOT include internet/DVR service or any extra channels- that IS NOT TRUE, I have my notes that show what we discussed, waiting for a senior rep to call me back, thank you all for helping out with this!

Fernando tells his father that Diego hasn't forgiven him for 20 years, since Fanny is 19, its got to be because Fernando stole Estafania away from him.

It's hard to imagine Fer doing any stealing away. I find it more likely that Estefania chose Fer on her own, while he was too busy working to put any effort into finding a novia, and he liked her and agreed to marry her. But Diego might not have seen it that way. It's also possible that she was Diego's novia first and that's how Fer met her, and he made a play for her because she was great and conveniently put in front of him so he didn't have to go out and socialize to find a suitable wife.

Did anyone catch what Ana said to Isabruja after her main remarks about the unavailability of good beauty products to Ana? It sounded wonderful but I didn't catch it.

I don't think, by the way, that Fernando said anything today to Nando about loving Ana or Isabela. He did make clear to Nando and to the younger children that he loved Ana but had to make a life in a family for the new little one.

I have my doubts (or hope-nots) that we will get to a wedding. On the other hand, 180 episodes and counting??? Anything can happen.

Eli, sorry to hear about your cable issues.. i am pretty sure most of us have been in the same boat one time or another..
thanks everyone for recalling the notes from yesterday.
Julia and UA , you crack me up... Of course we need games at the patio for this one... and they all will revolve around Isa's picture getting a 'make-over'.
