Hasta El Fin Del Mundo #24: The Chava and Pato Face Off and Armie has lost his mind.
Hola Amiguis: Did Chava have his moment of Clarity, as he calls it, has Armie gone mad? Please read on to find out. Here is an earworm. Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better
Shall we begin?
There was a contest on who could be the bigger, stronger man, and while Sofia watches from the sidelines, with Chava driving, Pato manages to push that car out of the mud. Pato gets a huge kiss from his tesoro (Sofia) and what does Chava get? A thanks very much and you can go home now! Chava is so very disappointed, but what choice has he got? Pato is going with Sofia to the country home to clean up. he is covered in mud after all. As Sofia and Pato drive off, Sofia is looking longing at Chava, and Chava is so sad. But what choice does Chava have? He leaves.
These two are so cute. Wake up Sofia! You really aren't Pato's Tesoro!
Dani is sneaking around the house, looking around corners. What is she up to? We'll get back to her in a tic.
Matthias and Lucas are making the rounds. Matthias is taking Lucas down to get his uniform. Matthias doesn't quite trust Lucas, he saw Lucas during that pickpocketing incident. So He makes Lucas call him Maestro. Matthias leaves him and now we know what Dani was up to. She has gotten her hands on a cell phone and she calls Lucas of course. They are so happy to be talking to each other. While they are talking here comes Marisol and tries to flirt with Lucas.
Alexa is trying to explain to Armie that Alan is her novio. Alan clearly doesn't like Armie cause he is a bruto! Armie has had quite enough and is thinking of resigning. Oh noes! Greta comes in and wants to know what all the loud arguing was about? Armie has already gone. Alan is another smarmy one and kisses Greta's hand. I can't tell if Greta is impressed by him or not.
Lucas tells Dani he really can't talk right now he's at work, but he tells her where he is working. She is very happy. She'll call him again when she has the chance. He kisses his phone and Marisol is all in his personal space. He tells Marisol that was his girlfriend and Matthias Maestro yells at Lucas for fratenizing with the female help. Marisol gives Matthias lip.
Armie has gone to Fausto and is having a chin wag. He tells Fausto he can't stand Alan and Alan is claiming to be the great grandson of Herman Cortez?
Chava is driving back and talking about the clarity moment, as he told Sofia a couple three episodes back, you know you are in love because you have a moment of clarity, so who had it Chava or Sofia?
Greta is grilling Alan, seems he's an artist and he drops all kinds of names, including Pablo Picasso. What Greta wants to know is where Alan and Alexa met? It was a casting party and their stories don't quite match. Alan is dropping more names like Julio Gonzales. Alexa says he is full of surprises. Greta would like to have a word with Alexa alone.
Pato and his Tesoro have made it back to the country house and while Pato is getting cleaned up, Sofia is covering the furniture. When Pato come out, sans shirt, this was not what he had in mind. He's been contemplating a romantic time here with her. What does Sofia do? She keeps covering furniture. She says this place was her Papa's sancutary. Sofia says the problem is between her and Pato. She came here to think and he interrupted that. He doesn't think he has a problem. Oh shut up dude! Of course he has to be bringing up that prenup, what is it with her Mother? Sofia says Greta is doing things to protect the family and Sofia is part of that. Sofia needs some time and he's not too happy.
Fausto is in the kitchen with Miguelina and Aurora is there too. Alan is nosing around in the kitchen and talking to Miguelina about peppers and the island of Majora, and he even opens the oven and sniffs and goes in the fridge too. He says Miguelina is an artist!
So Greta wants to know if Alan is staying in a hotel and just where are his bags? Alexa says she is staying with them. Greta warns Alexa their home is not the hotel de love and there will be no sleeping together. Alexa needs to control Alan.
Miguelina brings Dani some papaya juice in her room and tells her Alan is in the kitchen. Miguelina advises Dani to talk to her Mama to lessen the punishment.
Armie and Alexa have a bit of a chat too. Armie was only defending Alexa from that macho. Armie wants to know how well Alexa really knows Alan? Alexa begs Armie not to resign. She gives him a long look and she actually looks scared. Armie doesn't like the way Alan humilated Alexa. She apologizes and he wants a serious talk with her. They have a working relationship, she wants a friendship. She wants him to decide and Armie is concerned.
Dani is down in the kitchen getting to know Alan and Alan? He's chopping what looks like tomatoes and Dani is messing with some dough, as Fausto looks on. Greta comes in and Alan says they are making a surprise. He even tells Greta she is a great Mom. Alexa comes in and says oh Alan you have captured your public? Hmmmmm.......
Chava and the mud splattered car have made it to Cuco's. Cuco asks him if he would like a torta Cubano, yummm!!! Cece outside smooching some guy. Cuco asks Chava if he isn't bothered by that? No, and then Cuco figures it out, it must be Sofia he has feelings for.
Sofia and Pato are finally on the way back. He'll drop her off at home and she thinks of Chava.
Meanwhile Cuco tells Chava why not tell Sofia how he feels. Chava can't do that, he's the chofer. Cuco says a noes. He is a race car driver and one day he'll get back to that.
Sofia is still thinking of Chava and has a big smile on her face. What is that about, Pato wants to know? Sofia has been thinking of driving and lyrics to a song. What song? A ranchero, and Pato is horrified! He doesn't like that type of music.
At Ripoll in the Maestro's santum sanctioruim, in othe words where Matthias crafts his chocolates, Lucas is cleaning the floor. Matthias is talking to Lucas. And now Lucas is able to call Matthias, Matthias. He tells Lucas that Marisol is like a sister to him. Matthias doesn't like anyone messing with Marisol. Lucas says he's got a girl. Lucas can go now and Matthias gets busy with his bon bons.
Lupe has come to Ripoll to see Marisol, but isn't allowed to speak with her, cause she is working and she can leave a message. Well, Lupe is not having it, she's her Mama and decides to loudly wait, but the security guard, the nice one, brings Marisol up and she's not happy. Lupe tells Marisol it was an idea she got from Don Paco and wants Marisol's pardon. She yells at her Mama, which brings Silvana out of her office. Lupe has brought Marisol her dinner. Lupe likes Silvana. Silvana says that Ripoll is not family therapy. Marisol even tries to give Silvana the sammich that Lupe brought her. They both go.
Armie comes home and plays indoor soccer with Nando. Irma sends Nando to his room. Armie has lost his mind. He is seriously thnking of selling the house. No, noes!!!!! Irma is over the moon.
Chava is thinking of Sofia again,and by gum, with all the things he knows, the mechanics and the workings of the combustable engine he could be an ingenero!
Greta is telling Fausto that Alan is a man of the world and an artist! Hmmmmm.....
Sofia is home and is introduced to Alan. She isn't looking pleased. She asks Alexa how the new pictures came out.
Pato calls his boss Peralta and they make a mis planes.

So what is up with alan? I don't like him, especially his hitting Alexa and his smarminess and his man of the world act! I did like the actor in Corazon Salvaje as the gypsy and also in Una Familia con Suerte as the one that was interested in Pina.
I am liking Chava's moment of clarity and Sofia's also. I just don't want her to marry Pato.
And Armie has lost his mind. I hope he tells Paco and Chava. They will soon set him straight.

Thanks, Mads! I like that Chava is thinking about how he can go further in his career and life. Armie is too, and I understand why he's now willing to sell. But Irma is not the right partner to try to build anything with. She'll just spend all their money of frivolous things and sink them right back into debt again.
Madelaine, thank you for an excellent recap and a very appropriate earworm. I loved the phrase "Maestro's san"..to sanctorium.
I cannot stand Alan. He is even slimier than Pato because he physically abuses women besides being a con artist. As much as I dislike the character of Alexa, I cannot help feel sorry for her: she suffered something BIG during her time as the Ripoll Girl that we still don't know about and has turned into the classic victim of domestic violence. She was so pathetic telling Armando that he didn't see what he saw: Pato beating on her. Alan has to go before he inflicts too much damage on her and the household.
Then we have Sofía who was cowed by Pato and has to end her good time with Chava because of his petulance and not being able to give her the breathing room she needs. At least she chose to return to the city and told him she needed more time before the marriage. If she really wakes up and gets smart, she won't get married to him period. Maybe?
I loved Sofía thinking about Chava and smiling as Pato was driving her back to the city. She was so cute when she asked Pato if he liked música ranchera.
Poor Chava sitting at Cuco's Place seeing the young couple and realizing that the girl in that couple did not have spider webs in her head and he can tell she knew what she wants. I guess he is wishing that Sofía could de-web her head. Pato thinking about being a competitive race car driver again as the only thing that might bring him up to Sofía's level (my interpretation: to be noticed as a "man") was sad but probably true.

"At Ripoll in the Maestro's santum sanctioruim, in othe words where Matthias crafts his chocolates..." and "Matthias gets busy with his bon bons" were among my favorites. Another stellar recap.
Loved the pic of Sofia and Chava. I am noticing that when Chava is serious, he is rather appealing. Not that I don't care for his sweetness and happy smile, but his serious face and musings are kinda sexy...
Women are flocking to Lucas like moths to a flame. First, Dani and now Marisol (just as we suspected). Have I judged too harshly? Even Matias seems to have changed his mind and he and Lucas seem to be rapidly approaching bromance status :)
And my, Alan certainly wasted no time successfully ingratiating himself with the household - even Aurora seemed smitten. I have nothing but contempt for abusive men but I particularly loathe those who cloak themselves in a fake facade of worldliness and charm. Come on Greta - no luggage? No taste in clothes? Name dropping? Why isn't your "can't put anything past me" radar working?? Have to give Sophia for being the only one to see through the "charm". Fausto didn't look too convinced, if he gets the wool pulled over his eyes too, I give up.

I would like to see Matias moving toward a relationship and a home.

I don’t think Alexa has any love feelings for Alan but is putting up with his manhandling cause she (and he) think she owes him for something. She wants him to stay in the mansion where she can keep her eyes on him. I’m curious to see what this thing is that he's holding over her head.
Surprised to see Alan congenial in the kitchen with Miguelina. I guess he’s some kind of con man, but looks like in can cook too. Fausto was not a happy camper.
Chava was so cute daydreaming about Sofia. He and Armando need to put their heads together and come up with a plan for reentering racing. ITA Irma will spend the money faster than they can earn it, but Armando needs to put his foot down. When she buys stuff, send it right back.

Changing yourself for a man or woman is never the right path to take. You have to want to change who you are, what you do, how much money you make etc.for yourself. Chava is too good for the superficial, spoiled, materialistic, entitled women in the Ripoll family.
