TELEMUNDO Y MÁS: THE FRONT PAGE - Señora Acero, Los Miserables, etc -- week of November 24, 2014.
Labels: acero, miserables, telemundo
Los Mis
The writers are sure keeping Lucia's secret at the cusp. I thought that by now Lucia would be running from the law (just what I assume is going to happen),but she's still keeping silent, letting the hole she's standing in get bigger. And I wonder what exactly is going to cause for Roxanne to speak again, and how long it'll be until that happens.
I don't know if Ramon is endgame for Chelo, but I'm starting to warm up to him. That uni-brow does need to go though, and maybe some new clothe.
Also, Lily sure has taken up the role of Diabla with ease. Seems like she had all that evilness inside, just needed someone like Oleg to give her the freedom to unleash it.
& on a side note, was anyone else distracted by Lucia's cleavage?? Omg that was some serious boobage, haha, sry but thought they needed they're own comment.
jlk
Jlk: My eyeballs popped at Lucia’s cleavage too. Holy cow, girl! Put those things away when there are children present.
Very noticeable huge boobs, not sure of their authenticity. Guess they wanted to make sure they got our attention.
They had us going for a while trying to figure out who was going to take the bullet (except for the fact that Telemundo has decided to intersperse teaser/spoiler previews throughout the show now).
And I'm sick to death of Ignacio enabling that horrid spiteful woman. His responses are so lame. He should kick her out of the house.
And brainless Deyanira with the heart of gold can't seem to fathom the importance of keeping her mouth shut and not blabbing Lucha's location to el Diablo. I'm also a little mad at Chelo for running off at the mouth regarding the lobster and champagne because Ramon with all his best intentions probably had a slightly more modest meal in mind
Does anybody know what to expect schedule-wise once the Reyes brothers take over the screen in the 9PM slot (starting Dec. 3, I think)?

ok, I didn't get most of the details but....
Elio is shot by Indio's hitman, but was he wearing a vest, and in the aftermath he and Rufino seem to take turns shooting the bad guy, much to Empanada's horror who is following and watching.
Rufino later sees Empanada with Indio.
Josefina breaks down and calls Felipe, who has just finished boinking the maid, but Carlota comes upon the call before Josefina gives anything away, but Felipe is putting the pieces together, as the ignored maid stands by.
Miriam returns, wants lots and lots of money to get her son, Cornelia nixes the laundering thing since the DEA just tossed the beauty shop, so Miriam says she will cut hair day and night, Rufino has been calling her all of this time, so she calls him back but he doesn't answer, later he calls her back telling her Empanada is bad, so after Arnulfo and Juan what's new, she says and hangs up before he explains.
Cruz, in her relentless search for the bone that came out of the floor drain, gets Sara's cellmate alone and with her well fed friend are beating her senseless but are unable to kill her when she gets loose, Sara comes along and goes all wild woman, but runs out of steam, the day is saved by the DEA undercover girl, Tommy, who stomps everyone, till the guards arrive.
the bone is passed by Sara to Elio at a visit, who later passes it to Rufino, who later passes it to... well anyway someone determines it belongs to Enriqueta, and the news follows the chain back to Sara.
Indio is planning something involving the Cardinal of Guadalupe who visits Tijuana and is being sucked up to by Felipe and Berta, that will be implemented by Cortez, and somehow be blamed on Quintanilla, Indio is wearing a coat and tie, what?, and his boss is all smiles.
the DEA mole girl sits next to Sara during a visit and follows her conversation with Elio, not sure how she did this with their backs to each other, lip reading?, and calls up her DEA boss (on her own prison cell phone) with the news, but he wants facts, hangs up on her.
I like this novela, but I a sick of such gruesome prison scenes. I'm sure it happens at times, buuuuut. Where are the guards? I doubt Martha Stewart had to deal with that.
tired of doing it. Just wondering. Thank you. AnonGringa
AnonGringa: give me a few minutes and I'll try to put up a bare bones summary of what I saw last night (strictly from memory, and my Spanish aint that good) plus I only started watching a few weeks ago. So no big promises of accuracy or detail, OK?

mini-cap:
Sor Amparo rushes in with Lucia who presumably has “suelto la sopa” about what really came down the day Cesar was murdered, and is prepared to confess under the protection of the good nun (with whom she has shared a bond of frustrated motherhood and undying love). Daniel is dead drunk and not to be roused. This goes on in various scenes throughout the episode with the increasing probability that the true story will not be told anytime soon. Daniel drunk and unforgiving, Lucha chickening out again, and Amparo developing alarming abdominal symptoms whilst praying to her Maker to do his will.
Abel and his fiancee (what’s her name, with the cute short haircut?) have some tense moments. He goes out for the evening only to run into the cute doc (accidentally on purpose?) in a pool hall. A couple of beers and they get into a little contretemps of misunderstood motives which ends up in a near embrace . . . more to come.
Lily is in full dragon-lady mode plotting to take over the reins of the El Diablo operation while said Diablo is still incapacitated with liquor and love for Lucha. She tries to enlist the bald guy in the hat (sorry, I don’t know these characters) by telling him what a swell guy he is. He, meanwhile, pulls out a pair of incriminating shoes that he waves in front of her. She continues with more seductive smarm and I’ve now forgotten where all this ended up. The gist is: she wants to be boss of the empire and will stop at nothing. Also, she tried to butter up the rotten cop (sorry, names again!)in the matter of getting Roxi, the esquincla, killed. There was some talk about having “agallas” to do the job. These guys aren’t quite believing what they are up against with her.
The cop with the messy hair who boinked our short-haired virgen has decided to go after her with a midnight visit to the mansion. Of course he figures out which window to throw pebbles at, but the groundskeepers/guards show up with attack dogs. He flashes his badge, but they want to know why a police is on the property. She comes down and shoos the servants away and lights into our scroungy-looking cop with screechy recriminations. But, in true telenovela fashion, her tempestuous assault is quelled with a hot smooch (just about the time her fiance is making brief physical contact with el doctor guapo in the pool hall).
El Diablo is on a mission which ends up at Daniel’s where his long-suffering tia has finally put herself to bed, nursing a sore belly which bodes poorly for her future, even without assassins lurking. The bad guys see a body in the bed and shoot it up thinking it is Daniel. We know that Amparo had not yet gone to her Maker by the time of this event because her body moved in reaction to being shot.
Chelo & Elena & Vicky bond a bit. Pablo’s secret mission has got him in hot water with Elena, who feels betrayed and now very afraid because Radames has sworn vengeance. She literally has nowhere to go now. And I got to see Eusebia, Diablo’s maid (one of my fave character actors in this) take orders from the bald guy with the cowboy hat. Boy, if she could just tell what she knew! Does anyone know the name of this actriz?
Disclaimer, Telemundo has started peppering the broadcast with spoilerish previews and it’s a little hard to determine what does and doesn’t fall within the limits of the actual program, so if I have spoken out of turn, I apologize.
That’s all I can remember and now I’ve got to step out to do some errands. I hope more folks are still watching this, especially since they’ve gone and bumped us to the 8 o’clock slot when Tierra de los Reyes starts. Booh!
The shoot-em up scene involved a body wrapped in a huge quilt. We are to assume (I presume) that this is Sor Amparo, but it wasn't precisely clear what was going on. So, we may yet be in for a surprise. Sorry if I've spoiled anything.
Oh, and, I think I remember that Abel suddenly cut off his encounter with Doc Guapo because he made up his mind to run off to the arms of his fiancee to help him decide which team he is batting for. So, I am anticipating a confrontation of Romeos, particularly since the cop and the cute haircut girl (Adriana!!, that's it) are still in flagrante on the lawn. Antler-bashing [thanks, Jane Pepler] is a stock feature of all TNs

Oh, and there was a scene with Octavio and his "recovering" mom in which she oozes remorse self-pity about emotional abuse from her father and how she married to make up for it, to the extent that I think she actually went so far as to say she wishes she never had the boy. Lots o'tears ensue.
Sorry this is so piecemeal. Now, I really do have to get some work done.
I just found this a short time ago. Wow!! You did a great
job particularly in view of the fact that you say that you
were in a hurry. Thank you for being so nice and for filling in some blanks for me. I hope you got your work
done. Sorry to lose Sor Amporo, a favorite. These two
programs sure do kill off a lot of the good people. Have
a wonderful evening, hopefully with all of your work done. AnonGringa
thanks so much 65, for your summary!
I saw the show but your slant on things adds a nice touch of sparkle.
I loved sor Amparo, who devoted her life to making everyone else's better, that no matter how miserable you were, or how well hidden, she would find you, and bring out the good, damn Olegario.
I suppose Adriana and Abel are emotionally teen agers, testing the waters, they are life long friends, I hope that endures.
so what's a rich girl like Adriana doing with a guy like Abel, does he even have a job?
ah yes Agnes in NJ, antler-bashing, ha!, it's always rutting season in a novela.
Anselmo, the bald cowboy, he passes on Olegario's hit on Daniel, then pegs Lily as being with the shooter, hmm.
Aracely Arámbula can make me cry any time she thinks I should.
there is a good cast list here,
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3904944/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast
Thanks for your kind comment, AnonGringa. I'm still watching this, so I appreciate any interaction with Caray-mates! Glad to know you're out there.
And thanks to you too, deb. By the time this show is over, I might have learned a few of these names. As for Aracely Arambula, I love her in this. And "antler-bashing" is an expression I picked up from our blog mom, Melinama, when she started this whole thing by single-handedly recapping the entire run of Alborada in 2006. It was my first telenovela and still my favorite, and when I started, I knew not one word of Spanish.

Tks so much Agnes.
I am so angry at Telemundo's online site, no more captions. I don't watch with captions on TV 'cause you miss so much while reading, but then would watch online to see what I missed. I need those captions to recap. ¡Maldita sea!
So many I wish to thank!
Muy muchas gracias!
Also, all of the recapper writing talents amaze me!
Aficionada
No apologies even if you feel you could polish something a bit or add some extra detail with some extra time. I appreciate the connective context. These are supposed to be "recaps" not "transcripts" and while I do indeed appreciate those who are able and willing to go above and beyond, that in no way diminishes my thanks for briefer renditions.
On Acero I'm a bit confused "who" Indio's boss is, as in how he fits into the structure of the baddies.
On Los Mis, can anyone help me out on whatever happened to the usb drive that was hidden in the stuffed animal. who, if anyone, ended up with that?
Grim viewing when you have to start thinking of the folks who just kill folks as better than the torturers. Shades of very, very, dark grey.

Vario,Aficionada and Chris in FL Thanks for chiming in. It's good to know others are out there watching this show. I realize the other novelas are more popular, but I actually like this one, despite having missed the first couple of months. So keep commenting.
And Aficionada, I encourage you to ask your questions, any time. There is no rule saying that you must be a "regular" to ask where every body went. I suspect the holiday had something to do with how quiet things have been this week. And there were some stalwart regulars who gave us terrific recaps for a while, some of whom I think weren't even particular fans of the show. It just demonstrates how generous and considerate people are on this blog. One of the reasons I like to contribute, when I can.

I realize the new week will be up later this evening, but I am only just now catching up/finding time to comment.
I.am.lost.
I am so confused by the Cardenal de Guadalajara/Capo in disguise story. Even after watching several times with Spanish captions (I still haven't figured out how to change to CC3 on my new cable box.)
So Tuercas tells Quintanilla that the Capo is arriving disguised as the Cardenal. Tuercas is double crossing Quintanilla, so this info was a plant from El Indio Amaro...right? Quintanilla decides to attack the Capo Cardenal?
At the same time the REAL Cardenal is also arriving. Cortez has been told to protect the Capo Cardenal....but is told to guard the area where the REAL Cardenal is. Cortez has no idea the Capo Cardenal has been rerouted? Quintanilla's guys have no idea about this switch?
One of Quintanilla's men kills the REAL Cardenal. I notice Tuercas is careful NOT to be the triggerman. Cortez thinks Rufino did this and kills him.
Somehow Cortez becomes the scapegoat (????)
Somehow this will get Sara out of jail (????)
The gov't will come down on Quintanilla(?) Sara will be left unprotected(?) This will somehow make her come running to the OTHER Capo(?)
I am much more confused than you Sara. I never understood the reason for killing the Cardinal, maybe to set someone else up.
I never would have recognized José Luis Reséndez, Casio. Totally different role for him, but he is playing bad very well.
I have so many thanks for everyone here!
