She will be recapping Episode 123, the first half of what was broadcast in the U.S. on Friday, Nov. 14.
Take a look at the explanation of the recapping schedule in the page above.
Apparently Tijeramundo's demographic base were not ready for such a high level of writing, humor, and acting. Nor did they deem it worthy of even moving to the afternoon or la madrugada. Nos fregaron.
Shame on Tijeramundo for doing this to the most fun satire since The Colbert Report.
**Feel free to add or correct any mistakes I made.**
Episode 123-Part 1 (1st Part of Fri Nov 14 episode)
Navier is pointing his gun at FELS. FELS swears that Reina was never part of Project Jupiter. Navier doesn’t believe him. He never saw her name or picture. Ask Dr. Moto-she can tell him. The participants of the project were volunteers that were paid for their services. Reina was never part of it. Kill me if you want. Navier says that if FELS is lying he will regret it.
MM tells Victor that Navier is luring him into a trap. He looked into Navier’s files and knows the details of this trap. He is also worried about Reina. She supposedly doesn’t remember where she knows him from, but if she does, that puts him in jeopardy. Victor asks if thinks she will recover her memories? MM says if she does, she will have to be brought back to the lab.
Reina tells Asuncion that she is going to meet Victor in two hours and is worried She asks Asuncion if she ever mentioned MM. Asuncion doesn’t remember that name. Reina asks her if she was ever in a hospital or clinic before her marriage to Victor. No but she did suffer from strong headaches. Why is Reina asking all these questions? Because she is starting to remember things and it’s all confusing. Reina doesn’t know what is happening but she believes that a lot of terrible things happened to her during the last 8 years and these memories are about to come back to her.
MM tells Victor that he will be Victor the Magician tonight. Victor is excited-it’s been a long time since he was the Magician. MM tells him that he will wait for Reina. She will give him the diamond and he will give her half of the list. He will put the diamonds in his pocket. Then Navier and his agents will come in. The goal is to have the diamond in his possession. And then the diamonds will disappear!
Cut to Estefy rubbing her belly teasing Esmith about her “grandchild”. She leaves with the evidence that ORBO gave her. Estefy warns ORBO m to be careful with what he does or says because she swears she will kill him!
MM wishes Victor luck. He again reiterates that if Reina remembers they will be in serous problems. Will Victor eliminate her if it comes down to it? If Victor has to choose between her and freedom, he will!
Cristian tells Juanco that he will be set free. He got the autopsy report and Yoli’s time of death did not coincide with the time Juanco was there. Juanco tells Cristian to investigate Estefy.
Izzy is at Connie’s house. Is Izzy there to tell Connie that he left Victor? No. Then he should leave. Izzy tells her that if he leaves Victor, Victor will kill him.
Dr. Moto tells Laz that it’s great to see Roman play with Agatha. Laz is cooking and offers Moto some food. Delicious, she says! Who me, Laz flirts. Yes, Moto has heard. Laz tells Moto that earlier the person he was thinking about was her.
The moment is interrupted by Navier phone call to Moto. He needs her urgently! She will be right there. Navier tells Reina that the time to act has arrived. Does she understand what she has to o? Yes, although she is not Javier Bolivar, she thinks she can do this. Of course she can do this, she is Javier’s Bolivar woman!
Reina enters Victor’s room. He waves a wand over her to make sure she doesn’t have any listening devices. Did she bring the diamond? Nope. She is not honoring the deal! She has the diamond but she wants to keep it, it’s worth a fortune. Victor doesn’t believe her.
Esmith is in her former office looking at the evidence against Victor. She has him now! MM walks in and is surprised to see Esmith working so late. He wonders if she has a life. She says it’s none of his business and walks out.
Connie accuses Izzy of telling her this just so she won’t ask him to leave Victor anymore. No, he knows a lot of things-things that could lead Victor to prison or the grave. Victor isn’t going to let him go just like that. He can’t just give his notice. Although Izzy loves her with his whole heart, he can’t leave Victor. What if he is caught, Connie asks. Then Izzy might fall with him.
Laz gives Roman his dinner. Roman says nice things about Moto. The doorbell rings-It’s Estefy! She hasn’t been able to forget about Greta, has he?
Victor wants the diamond. If he kills her, Reina warns, he will never find the diamond. Oh, it seems like she has learned something from him after all these years. Reina is remembering and soon and she is going to remember everything!
But she has a feeling that Victor doesn’t want her to remember! Just then, Navier bursts in with Moto and agents and tells Victor that he is detained. He has the right to an attorney right? Terrorists don’t have the right to an attorney, Navier tells him as they take him away.
Reina doesn’t understand why she didn’t give him the diamond. Victor already knew the plan, Navier tells her. The scene flashes back to Moto and Navier in the car. Someone violated the security on his computer. Some one knows about tonight. He has to change the whole operation. There is traitor in the organization! End of flashback-So why did Navier arrest him? A guardian angel gave them some good information!
Connie loves Izzy but can’t deal with the anguish of wondering if he is going to end up dead. Izzy proposes an alternative-Running off forever! (Didn’t we hear this alternative before?)
Estefy is upset with Laz for marrying Moto. He doesn’t owe her any explanations. At least Greta died before knowing the real Estefy! Roman comes outside and tells Laz that Agatha is hungry. Who is Agatha, Estefy asks. My sister!
Victor is in the interrogation room with Navier. He doesn’t understand why he is there. What are they accusing him of? Reina and Esmith are watching through the mirror. MM is there too. and wonders why they have detained Victor. Navier shows Victor the evidence that ORBO gave them. Victor seems shocked. Your liberty is in my hand, Navier says. What is is Victor going to offer him?
Victor doesn’t understand what he can offer. Navier wants the list. What if he doesn’t have it-then they we will negotiate.
Cut to FELS and Moto. Moto informs FELS what is going on. Navier’ s computer was hacked-there is someone in the organization that is working for Victor. Moto looks at FELS and he denies being the traitor. He has made mistakes because he was protecting Estefy but he would never EVER be Victor’s ally! Well if it’s not FELS than it’s MM. FELS is not sure-he was a great agent but his biggest downfall is his ambition. FELS would never put his hands in the fire for him. Moto wouldn’t either-for MM or for FELS!
Cut to Estefy lighting up a stogy! She flashes back to the conversation with Laz. She is upset that Laz and Moto have a daughter. So while Greta was being eaten by worms, he was having the time of his life with Moto! He didn't even have a mourning period. He never loved her!! She is mistaken. Laz loved Greta and still loves her. He is a liar- just like every other man. Estefy swears that Laz will never be happy!
Flash back over- Cobra walks into the room-is she still working as an assassin or has pregnancy made her soft?
Victor tells Navier that he has the list. He received it anonymously. Reina and Esmith watch from the other side of the window. Does this mean Victor will be free, Reina asks Yes, Esmith laments, but at least they will have the list. So what is their deal, Victor asks. Navier is going to make him think about it. If Victor isn’t released soon, the names are going to be published one by one. The same will happen if he dies their lives depend on Victor’s!
Laz and Connie are in bed. Connie can’t leave her friends and family. They exchange how much they love each other. Izzy gets a message that Victor has been detained.
Cobra asks of Estefy is asking her to kill someone? No, not yet. But Cobra misses it-the thrill of the hunt. Well if Estefy changes her minds, she will give her a call.
Navier tries to console Reina about Victor’s possible freedom. Don’t worry -Victor will be watching himself from now on. Any wrong move and he will end up in prison. They kiss passionately.
The next day Navier tells Reina that the evidence they have could also implicate Estefy. Would he do that to the mother of her child? Yes. If at one point he thought about prison for Reina whom he loved so much, can she imagine what he feels for Estefy?
Laz is upset that Estefy found out about Agatha. Moto tells him to relax-there might be proof that could put her away. Laz didn’t like her look-it was full of anger. Laz mentions MM-he caused Moto a lot of problems but MM now has to watch out for Moto.
MM is speaking to Esmith. He doesn’t understand what happened with Victor. Where did this evidence come from? That’s confidential. Confidential from me, MM asks. For everyone, Esmith clarifies. They had to change an operation because of a security breach. According to MM, the only person they should suspect of being a traitor is FELS!
FELS shows up at the De Rosas mansion to speak to Estefy. He came to tell her that Victor has been detained. Navier found proof that connects him to all sort of crimes including terrorism. FELS believes that some of that evidence, might link Estefy to the crimes-that is why he is there. Is he trying to give her a chance to escape? You decide. FELS tells her.
Reina arrives at Esmith’s apartment. She tells Asuncion that Victor is in jail. Reina also can’t stop thinking about MM-she wants to remember more!
Navier enters Victor’s cell. Victor proposes the following deal- the list in exchange for the evidence. Navier expected that deal from Victor. But there will be no exchange. Victor will keep his list and Navier will keep his evidence. But if a name gets released, Victor’s freedom will end. Victor thinks that is a good deal. Oh there is one more thing-Navier wants Reina! The complete freedom of Reina Ortiz!

So let me get this straight. Navier is going to make divorcing Reina part of the price of Victor's freedom? That's kind of mixing his personal life with business, no? There isn't any other crime-related thing he could get from Victor?
And, of course, the CIA didn't take the opportunity when Victor was arrested to search his house, his computer or his sex pad and film studio. Who knows what they might have found?
I'll just tighten my beanie and move on.
Estefi really does seem to grudge Moto and Laz any happiness together. There's definitely something going there.
Mauro had his own reasons for wanting Navier's operation GET VICTOR to fail. He expected Navier to be demoted because of his spectacular failure and Mauro was all set to take his place. (MM and Victor even toasted in anticipation: A rey muerto, a rey puesto!)
Jean -- You're new avatar really cracked me up! Somebody's ready for the gran final party!
About Estefi and Laz--
Yes, Estefi seems to feel Laz is betraying Greta by setting up house with Moto. Of course the irony is that Laz-Moto got started as a way to protect Greta's baby, a baby the evil King Victor had ordered the tenderhearted woodsman Izzy to take out in the forest and kill... (Among other ironies, the chief one being that Greta isn't dead.)
Victor tore Greta's baby away from her just as Faux O tore Greta away from Estefi. [I want to be around when Estefi finds out about this!]
It is so weird that the slashers are trying to cut everything concerning Greta's baby. It was a fairly important subplot, and it's very much embedded in the story. Oh well.
And yes, all of the "Why did he...?" and "Why didn't he just....?" questions are valid. But we are talking about the Dragon and his One True Love, so in that sense, it is perfectly understandable.
:D
I had the same head scratching questions about what a LAME deal Navier got out of Victor. He didn't even get the list back-- just a promise not to leak anymore of the names (for now). Huh!? Years of evidence pulled together by Big O of ties to crime and terrorism, and that's all the CIA gets out of Victor? Well, and least it looks like Reina will get her divorce (which she could have gotten anyway, even if Vic wasn't in agreement).
AND we recall that Cobra demanded that Vic divorce Reina and marry her or she will reveal that Greta is alive so he was probably going to divorce her anyway.
So Navier really got absolutely nothing in his negotiation.
Vivi and Jean-I'm in the minority here apparently, but I think Javier made a good deal. Sure, he could have gotten the list back. But Victor could have copies of that list in every flash drive, storage warehouse, bank vault and cloud in the world. There is no way to ever be sure that they got all the copies. For that matter, Victor could have just memorized the list. It seems like good strategy to me to just make sure Victor has a great incentive to never use the information, wherever he has it. That's what Javier did.
Secondly, with Reina, sure she could divorce Victor without his consent. But this way she gets a quick, uncontested divorce rather than a dragged out fight.
I think Javier did okay, but that's just my opinion.

I was going to watch this episode before I read the recap but every time I try to watch, some App Store acreen pops up and alerts me that My iPad needs something called VPN Defender. I don't think so, so I'll have to do without watching and read Caroline's recap.
Argh.
[Begins at about 31:00 in the second half of USA broadcast of Fri, 11/14/14. See Caroline's recap above for the first half.]
Part 1
CIA cell -- A Pair of Queens
(Navier has just told Victor that in exchange for his freedom, he must give up Reina.)
Victor resists the idea. After all, Reina is his trump card. And he has always loved her. He's in no position to negotiate, Navier reminds him. The deal is this -- Victor gives up both the list and Reina and he gets his freedom.
It isn't fair, says Victor. Navier is asking for two things and only offering one. Navier almost whispers in his ear. "What else do you want?" Victor turns to face his half-brother. "Immunity for Estefanía, the future mother of your first son."
The Study in Family Loyalty, De Rosas Mansion
"Would you really help me to escape?" Estefi asks Picasso. He would. He's convinced it's the right choice for her. She has her unborn child to think about and she has a daughter waiting for her in another part of the world. (So he knows that Greta is alive! Did we know that he knows? Hmm.) She has to forget about her thirst for vengeance and get far away before they catch her. (Excuse me, Picasso -- you HAVE met Estefanía, right?)
Can This Soul be Saved?
Who would Picasso really be helping? Estefi or Navier? Estefi or his mother Asunción? Estefi or his perfect sister Reina? Estefi or his great love, Esmeeth? Picasso assures her that he would be helping her. He begs her save her herself. Estefi looks at him sadly and says: Ya no tengo salvación. There's no longer salvation for me. Then she turns away as if to compose herself and asks: "Is there anything else?" Yes, answers Picasso, there is something else...
CIA, The Room of Screens
"You see," says Mauro Montalban as he points to the display on the computer in front of him. "Picasso hacked into Bolívar's files! You can see the dates and times -- everything!"
Why is Montalban is telling her this? she asks. It's a serious breach of security that could get Picasso kicked out of the company. Esmeeth is getting a bad vibe from this conversation. Montalban stands up and looks Esmeeth in the eye. "I know who Picasso is," he tells her, "and I also know whose brother he is. I've always known. And I know more, Esmeeth, much more than anyone could imagine." MM walks away leaving Esmeeth to ponder...
CIA Cell -- The Closer
Victor is enthusiastic. "It's a great deal for both of us, Javier. Estefanía and I keep our freedom, I don't bother Reina anymore, and all the agents get to live. What do you think?" Sure, Victor's not happy about losing Reina, but at least it's not checkmate. Navier permits himself a smirk. "My matches always end in checkmate."
"But what if this time," says Victor, "the game ends in a draw. Nobody wins and nobody loses. We both walk away from the game that we love so much. "And that has caused so much bloodshed," adds Navier. Victor also wants the blood letting to stop... but if Navier doesn't give him an answer very soon, some people might get nervous and another agent's name might come out. Navier warns Victor not to threaten him -- "It would be worse if I got nervous."
Esmeeth's apartment -- If you think I'M bad for Connie...
Reina sees TheWorstCopInLasVegas on the doorstep. Has he come to interrogate her? He has not. He has come as a man, not as a police officer. He is desperate because Connie has left him and asked for a divorce. Reina gives it to him straight -- He and Connie shouldn't have gotten married in the first place. Christian is concerned about Connie ending up with Izzy. Reina knows very well that he's a very dangerous man.
Since TWCILV wants to talk about dangerous men, Reina has a question for him: "Did you know who Victor De Rosas was? Did you know about the crimes he committed?" TWCILV knew nothing. He always believed in Victor. But now he knows who Victor is -- and he knows who Isidro is too. And he knows that if Connie chooses Izzy, she'll be in danger. She could end up dead with the mark of the diamond on her neck.
Reina's Old House -- He's a Bad Boy, But I Love Him!
Connie is so happy that Juanjo has been released. Juanjo says it was a nightmare, but he feels that things are finally starting to turn around. Then he looks closely at Connie and realizes she looks sad. What's wrong? She admits that she's worried about Izzy. If Victor goes down, Izzy will fall too, as his accomplice. "I know he's a criminal, but I love him all the same."
De Rosas Mansion -- Oh Susana!
Estefanía knew Susana would come to see her. Susana wants to know how Estefi could have done all those terrible things. How could she shoot Juanjo and try to kill him? How could she kill all those people?
I Was an Innocent Victim!
Estefi was DRUGGED. She didn't know what she was doing. It was all the fault of Navier and Juanjo. THEY locked her up in a manicomio. Susana knows perfectly well that she's not crazy! "You don't know everything I had to go through, Susana -- they shocked me, they tortured me, they tied me to a bed. It was horrible. They drove me crazy! THEY are the ones really guilty of the tragedy that took place."
CIA Office
Esmeeth is indignant when she hears what Victor wants in exchange for his promise not to release any of the names on the list. Is Navier going to agree to his demands? He is. Does he think Victor will keep up his end of the bargain? "For now, I suppose he will," answers Navier, "until the traitor in our midst gets him the evidence..."
CIA Cell -- Was Somebody Looking for a Traitor?
Mauro Montalban shows his smarmy face through the window in the door. "I need you to get me the evidence," says Victor. "Right away." MM nods.
CIA Office
"...And when he gets it," Navier continues, "then we'll know who that traitor really is." And if it's Picasso? "Esmeeth, if it's Picasso, I won't show him any mercy." "Neither will I."
Esmeeth's Apartment -- It Hurts to Remember
Asunción and Reina are discussing Connie's situation. Reina thinks she should have left Victor long ago. "If you had, you'd be dead," says Asunción. Suddenly Reina grimaces and grabs her head. She doubles over and moans.
Flashback: A rapid series of images. Reina lies on her bed in the mansion, barely conscious. Victor gives her an injection. "This is what you get for trying to leave me. That will NEVER happen." Reina looks at Victor blankly. Her eyelids close and her eyes roll back in her head. "Is that clear?" says Victor.
Back in the moment: "What's wrong?" Asunción asks Reina in alarm. "Oh, this headache!" she says. "I'm remembering things! It's so confusing! I have to remember!" Reina stands up and heads for the door. Asunción calls after her: "Where are you going?" "I'll be back!" she calls back. "Reina!"
He Took Advantage of My Innocence!
Estefi continues spinning her lies for perhaps the only person on earth still naive enough to believe them. "Worst of all," she tells Susana, "my nightmare didn't end there. Juanjo and Navier caught me, locked me up and invented the whole story of the insemination." Susana is startled. "WHAT INSEMINATION???"
"Javier wants everyone to think I inseminated myself to get pregnant, but that's not true. While I was locked up, he raped me!"
Estefi has hit Susana where it hurts. "Javier did that?"
"Javier is a beast. He hates me. He wants to destroy me. You don't know all the things he's done to me. To me -- the person who always loved him, who always stood by him -- that's how he repays me."
"What you're telling me is horrible!"
"But it's much worse than that.... Javier has become a beast, an animal. And you have to know, Susana, what Juanjo turned into. He's a different person, he's a criminal!"
Susana comforts Estefanía with a hug. Behind Susana's back, Estefi drops the tragic mask. She looks pleased with herself.
(And am I the only one who thinks 'jolie laide' every time we get a close-up of that face?)
Kitchen, De Rosas Mansion -- The Honor Code
Izzy brings Cobra the news: Victor has been arrested. That's all he knows. The CIA is holding him but Izzy has no contacts there. Cobra says she'll call her brother to see what he can find out. "Even if he could, I doubt he'd do anything to save Victor," Izzy tells her. "What about Estefanía? She has a lot of power."
Speaking of Estefanía...
Izzy doesn't understand why she isn't more upset. How can Estefi be talking so calmly with Susana right now? If Victor falls, she falls with him.
"That damn woman probably turned him in herself," hisses Cobra. Izzy sets her straight. "There are codes," he tells her. "It wasn't Estefi." "Then find out who it was," says Cobra. I've been wanting to do a little job for a while now."
Esmeeth's apartment -- ♫Can't Take My Eyes Off of You ♫
ORBO shows up looking for "Sara." Asunción tells him she isn't in, but invites him in to wait. She can't stop staring at him: " You look just like him!" "I'm Octavio De Rosas," he says. Yes, she heard something of his story when he came to talk to Esmeeth, although the two of them didn't meet face to face. But he can't fool her. He isn't really Big O. She should know -- she was in love with that man. Now ORBO is staring back.
CIA cell -- What Happens When Victor Doesn't Have His Mescal
Victor is getting cranky. "What's going on? Am I going to be here much longer? I have things to do! I can't waste my time in this damn place!"
What a dump!
Enter Navier. Victor stands up, puts on his jacket and starts to kvetch about the facilities. The mattresses are hard and the food is greasy... Navier wants to talk about the proposal, not the mattresses. Victor says there's not much to talk about. "Take the deal, Javier -- or you'll be murdering your own mother. Her name will be released within the hour."
Moto's apartment - I Need that Drug!
Reina arrives asking for Moto's help. That drug that Blanco gave her -- you know, the one that would have KILLED her were it not for the intracardiac epinephrine injection, THAT one -- that drug made her start to remember her past. The images are confusing. She needs to remember more. "I need that drug! I need to remember everything!"
Moto says what she's asking is crazy. Those are experimental drugs with horrendous side effects. Besides, she has no access to them. Reina is sure she does. She pleads with her. Moto says she'll find out if the drug is still around -- maybe it's being used in another study. "But Reina, it's really risky."
"I need to get my memory back -- and with that drug, I'll be able to do it!"
Moto isn't making any promises, but she'll see what she can do. Reina begs her not to tell anyone else about their conversation, especially Navier.
CIA cell
Victor can leave -- for now. Navier gives him a final warning: "If one single name on the list is released, nothing will save you. You'll rot in jail." As Victor turns to leave, Navier calls after him: "I'm going to send you a lawyer." Victor smiles at the irony. "To defend me?" Navier laughs. "No, so you can divorce Reina immediately."
CIA Morgue -- Over Her Dead Body
Laz is futzing with Yolanda's face (collecting evidence, I guess) when Estefi appears on the scene and stages a little show. "I can't believe it," she says. "What kind of ANIMAL could have done this? What did you DO, Yolanda? WHO were you mixed up with?"
"With you," mutters Laz.
"I won't permit you to SPEAK to me like that," says Estefi, DEEPLY offended. Here she is, SUFFERING because of the death of her long-time employee -- why she was practically her FRIEND! What is he accusing her of?
Juanjo comes in and stands next to Laz. "I'm the one who gets to say a final goodbye to Yolanda, not her murderer!" Estefanía drops the mask. She warns both men to be very careful -- or they may soon find themselves at the mercy of the Costurer@, and nobody escapes from that killer.
Esmeeth's apartment
Asuncion tells ORBO that her love affair with Faux O was a secret. He was a "special" man. (So he had that in common with Pedro Ortiz.) You loved him and hated him with the same intensity:
Flashback: Asuncion has her hair loose and she wears a tight top showing a lot of cleavage. Faux O, with his hair slicked back and in shirtsleeves, doesn't look a day over 70. Asuncion complains that ever since he got back, all she hears about is Sara. He laughs and pulls her to him. He loves it when she gets jealous. Sara is the past and she is the present. Although their love is secret, nothing can take away everything they've shared -- how he made her forget all the men of her past.
Back in the Moment: Asuncion knows there are things Reina can't tell her, but when she heard Big O was back, she asked her secretly. "It's just that you're so much like him," -- she caresses his cheek -- "but you're not the same... She pulls him towards her and kisses him. He doesn't push her away.
Esmeeth enters the apartment quietly and watches them for a moment.
CIA Office -- And the envelope, please!
Navier sorts through the evidence that ORBO has given him. Moto comes in and says she has to tell him something. She wasn't sure what to do, but she realized she couldn't keep this to herself. Reina, she says, is so anxious to recover her memory that she wants to be injected with the drug that Blanco gave her. "That's crazy," says Navier.
Moto knew he would react like that --- that's why she lied to Reina and told her she'd find out if the drug was still available. In fact, she knows the drug exists. Moto told Reina about the risks, but Reina insists it's the only way she can get her memory back -- and perhaps it is. It's Navier's call. What should she do?
Navier forbids Moto to give Reina the drug and warns her against going behind his back. Moto wouldn't do that -- but if Reina recovered her memory and could know what happened during those last eight years... Navier is adamant. "I'm never going to expose Reina to that risk! I'll find out myself what they did to her."
Changing the subject abruptly, Navier passes over the manila envelope. "Here is ORBO's evidence. I'd like you to put it in the safe. Would you file it, please?" Moto is puzzled. Shouldn't he keep it under special security? "It isn't necessary," says Navier with a sly smile. Aha! Moto understands. When she leaves, Navier takes out another envelope (the REAL one), and leafs through the contents.
Busted!
Back at Esmeeth's place, that kiss is still going on. "Life hasn't held too many surprises for me," says Esmeeth coolly, "but this is definitely one of them." Asuncion and ORBO jump up like guilty teenagers. "It's my fault," says Asunción. "I wanted to kiss him." "Why is that?" "Because Octavio and I were lovers for many years."
Juanjo's place -- their 19th nervous break-up
Susana is distraught. She can't stop thinking about Yolanda and about everything that happened in the manicomio. "I talked to Estefi," she tells Juanjo. "She told me that Navier raped her and that you both locked her up there and they drove her crazy."
Juanjo is stunned. "You talked to -- and believed and felt sorry for -- a woman who would have killed me if she hadn't run out of bullets? You know what? You've always wanted to end this relationship. Well this time, I want to end it."
Connie's House -- He's free, but so are you!
Reina and Connie sit together on the couch and share a good laugh. These two friends have really missed each other and the long talks they used to have.
Reina is worried because she hasn't heard from Navier all day. Just then, a messenger comes to the door with a gift box tied up in pink ribbons. (Luckily, it is too flat to contain a head.) Connie accepts the box and hands it to to her friend.
Reina is afraid to open it, but Navier's timely call reassures her. It's a gift from him, and the guy who delivered it is one of his agents. He is going to take her somewhere... (Meanwhile Connie gives the agent a tip -- and he accepts it!)
"What happened with Victor?" asks Reina. "Is he still locked up?" No, Navier tells her. Victor is free, but so is she.
Living Room, De Rosas Mansion - A Little Reptilian Humor
Cobra greets Victor with relief. She was afraid they were going to give him a lethal injection. She was afraid or she was hoping for it? She was afraid -- when the time comes, she wants to be the one to inject him. "Don't lie," he says. "You love me and you only want me in your bed."
Estefania enters the room in time to hear the end of this tender exchange. She clears her throat loudly. She doesn't want to interrupt a romantic moment. Victor welcomes her arrival. He wants to talk to her alone. Won't your woman get jealous? No, she knows his chats with Estefi are strictly business. Besides, tomorrow he begins divorce proceedings -- as soon as he and Reina are divorced, he is going to marry Alicia.
Connie's Home Salon
An extended and not unpleasant Garnier commercial during which Reina primps for her date with Navier.
Hotel de Cinco Estrellas -- Angels
Navier and Reina have the immense space to themselves. The enormous crystal chandelier forms the backdrop to their champagne toast.
De Rosas Mansion, A Study in Maldad -- Devils
Victor and Estefi also toast -- to her immunity from prosecution (though Estefi is virtuously sticking to orange juice even if earlier she was drank a shot of tequila). "So let me make sure I understand -- you negotiated my freedom?" Victor assures her that he did just that; he saved her, although he could have let her go under. But she's the mother of his child! From this moment on, he adds somewhat ominously, he owns her freedom.
Angels
"To your freedom! -- a medias" Why only half free? asks Reina. Because she will always be bound to him. She will always be his Reina.
Devils
Estefi sips her juice. "You don't mind losing Reina?" Victor admits he always wanted to win her over, but now all he wants is to destroy her. He takes a pull from his flask. "That's what I've ALWAYS wanted," says Estefania.
Angels
"We're here just like the first time. I know you don't remember, but I lied to you back then." Navier smiles. He told her it was his hotel -- and now it really his... well theirs. And now they're together and indestructible, just as they have dreamed for years...
Devils
"For many years -- since she was just a little four-eyes, I've wanted to destroy her," says Estefania dreamily. "Of course," says Victor. "Because of the parking valet." Estefi corrects him. "Because of a much bigger hatred than that, a hatred that poisoned my blood and my very soul."
Angels
"This is where you 'poisoned' me (me envenenaste)," says Navier with a sly smile. This is where they had their first kiss. They pledge their love. We admire their beautiful faces and especially Reina's hair and make-up. They kiss. The song swells. ♫Te esperaré por ti. ♫
Devils
Estefi admits it. She went looking for 'little four-eyes.' She was the one who tried to get Reina to kill herself. And she won't rest until Reina pays with her blood.
Angels
They have made love. They gaze at each other. "This could be the beginning of a life together," says Reina. "You and me. Forever." "Forever," echoes Navier. He likes the way the word sounds on her lips.
Devils
"So it was always you! -- You wanted Reina to kill herself!" "Always," echoes Estefania. "I've always wanted her dead." Even Victor is impressed by her hatred. She won't tell him its source -- perhaps she has already told him too much. After all, he still loves Reina.
Victor says she's wrong. He hates Reina Ortiz. He used to love her very much, but she never returned his love. She was always in love with Nicolas Nuñez or Javier Bolivar or whatever you want to call him.
Angels
"I've always been yours," says Reina. "I've never loved another man. You were my first love and you'll be my last love.
(♫Soldier Boy, ♫I'll be true to you♫...oh, sorry.)
You've made me so happy."
"And you WILL be happy -- for the rest of your life!"
♫Si tan solo pudiera besarte♫
"They won't live long enough to be happy," says Estefi. She asks only one thing from Victor --"Don't interfere with my plans." Victor asks her again: What does she have against Reina? "Enough to want to see her destroyed -- but it's something very personal and I don't want to share it with you."
"Are you alone in this or is there someone else?" he asks. "There's someone else," she says, someone who feels the same hatred. "Who?" She's not telling. It's her secret.
The story continues tomorrow with Episode 125...
She has to forget about her thirst for vengeance and get far away before they catch her. (Excuse me, Picasso -- you HAVE met Estefanía, right?)
CIA cell -- What Happens When Victor Doesn't Have His Mescal
but this made me laugh out loud:
Just then, a messenger comes to the door with a gift box tied up in pink ribbons. (Luckily, it is too flat to contain a head.)
Asunción really gets around, doesn't she? And she can really pick 'em: Pedro Ortiz; El Coyote; Faux O.
"Asunción really gets around, doesn't she? And she can really pick 'em"
Watching an entire uncut episode is much more enjoyable (and saner) than the Frankencapítulos on Tijeramundo.
NovelaMaven – thank you for the recap and the snark; AND the clever section titles.
”Juanjo's place -- their 19th nervous break-up” now has that song running thru my head. LOL
Ditto the “Soldier Boy”. ;-)
If Montalban knows whose brother FPGELS is, does he mean Estefi or Reina???
I’m glad Reina finally changed out of that pink “wrap” top. I hope she had on a beige bra under that top, in case a strong breeze blew the whole thing open. Yipes.
DocMoto finally changed out of her Route 66 tank top, too. I wonder if it was a salute to the old TV show or the actual Route 66?
Well, with her next outfit she went into a tube top! LOL They are getting skimpier.
So Asunción had a fling with Faux O, too? Eeeew. That woman got around! (that man got around!) Looks like the only unsavory character with whom she hasn’t had affair is Victor.
Sadly, Reina’s hair looked no better after the full-court Garnier press. Er, product placement.
HHmm... I wonder what Stefi's "secret" big hate toward Reina is all about. I'll have to tune in tomorrow. Must See TV!
Dear Izzy: Please turn state's evidence against Victor and go into the Witness Protection Program so you can run away with Connie and live happily ever after. If you can find Geronimo de Rosa's plastic surgeon, see if he can make you look like Fernando Colunga (who always plays a good guy) and have the CIA foot the bill.
Jean --- I absolutely LOVE the tiara Kitty avatar! I wish I had found that. ;-)
I wondered the same thing when Mauro said he knew WHOSE BROTHER Picasso was, but then I figured he had to be thinking of Estefi, right? She's trouble. Why would anyone care about Reina being his sister?
I try to put the most generous possible interpretation on Moto's shrinking apparel (I mean, I assume she hasn't started using the same laundry and dry-cleaning service as Picasso and her clothes are getting smaller with each washing.) I think that as her feelings for Laz become more sensual, she dresses to reflect them. (And yeah, maybe they figured a little skin wouldn't hurt them in the ratings department, especially with OBD gone and Cobra great with child.)
Penny
It's just astonishing how many interesting things they've cut. The visit from TWCILV was interesting. Juanjo breaking up with Susana (loved 19th reference) because she's dumb enough to believe Estefy.
Oh well, thankfully we have TBRICS
(the best recappers in cyberspace) to fill in the blanks!!
TBRICS, huh? Too funny. Sounds a lot like T-Rex. Well, that may not work for the rest of the team but it fits me, being a dinosaur and all (though I'm more of a brontosaurus kind of girl.) hee hee.
Too bad the human lie detector is busy Dra Moto comes into the office everyone shares at the CIA looking for Esmeeth. FELS is there. She asks what he is doing and he replies that he is working. She asks if he knows that Victor was released. He does. She mentions the proofs. FELS says that they are secure. “From Victor de Rosas,” replies Moto, “but not from a traitor in our midst.” FELS demands that Moto look him in the eye and swears that he is not the traitor.
Is this the meeting of the Women Who Make Bad Choices in Men support group? Esmeeth and Asunción are having a meal. Esmeeth says that she never imagined that Faux O and she had had a thing. Asunción replies that no one imagined it, no one knew about it and that’s how she wants it to stay. She especially doesn’t want Reina to know. Esmeeth agrees to that. Asunción muses on how seductive Faux O was. “To the servants, maybe,” replies Esmeeth. She says that because of Faux O, she lost everything. Asunción replies that she suffered also. She lost what little dignity that remained to her. Asunción can’t believe how similar ORBO is to Faux O. Esmeeth reminds her that ORBO isn’t Faux O. He is one of the many victims of someone who thankfully is dead and buried.
ORBO comes into Vic’s house where Vic and Estefi are. They ask him where he has been. He says, unconvincingly, that he went out for a little air. “While your son was arrested, right?” says Vic. You were arrested? asks ORBO, “you seem to be free now (bien parado) now.” Vic tells ORBO that the CIA has proofs against him that few people would have access to, besides themselves. ORBO replies that he would never send Vic to prison. Vic tells ORBO that when he believed ORBO was dead, he made a toast. Vic leaves. Estefi tells ORBO that it better not have been him who betrayed Vic or she will kill him. ORBO tells her not to threaten him. She says it is isn’t a threat, she just wants to make it very clear that “o estás de mi lado o simplemente no estás” “either you are on my side or you simply aren’t.”
Juanjo can’t believe that Susana believes the word of a murderer like Estefi. She thinks that if Navier is a horrible rapist then he is too. She clearly wants their relationship to be over. It’s over. Love can’t conquer everything, unfortunately.
Sometimes it’s better not to remember your past Reina and Navier are in their love nest. Reina tells Navier how much she wants to remember things like the first time she saw him, their first kiss, when he asked her to marry him, the first time they made love and Clara being born, so many things. Navier replies that all her memories are in her skin and her heart. Every time he kisses her, it is like the first time. He says that every time he makes love to her, it is like the first time for him. She replies that it isn’t the same and he knows that. As for remembering giving birth to Clara, he says that most women want to forget childbirth, no no, he says that they can have another child. This causes Reina to bring up the fact that Estefi is pregnant with his child. Navier doesn’t want to talk about that. She knows but she can’t stop thinking about it. Navier tells her that he will take care of the child and he will do everything he can to see that Estefi pays for what she has done to them but for now she has immunity in return for Reina’s freedom.
Estefi is on the phone speaking to her unknown confederate. She tells him/her that Victor knows of his/her existence [there are no clues to gender from adjectives or pronouns]. Victor knows that she hates Reina he but doesn’t know his/her name or the motive for their actions. She asks if everything is ready. She doesn’t want any failure. She doesn’t want Reina to be in love or be happy. She wants the “infierno” to be close, every day closer until it finally is too much for her (“la alcance”).
Put it in my Inbox and I’ll get back to you Izzy comes in and asks to speak with Victor. Vic says that he is tired. He wasn’t on vacation. He was in prison. Izzy replies that it is urgent. Has Izzy brought him the diamonds? “No, señor,” replies Izzy. Has Izzy found out who gave the proofs against him to the CIA? “No, señor,” replies Izzy. In that case, says Vic, he has nothing important to talk about so he should get out. Izzy says that he has come to resign.
Is this the meeting of the “Women who Love Bad Men” support group? Susana has come to see Connie to talk about women who are love with bad guys. Connie doesn’t see the problem – Estefi is bad news. Susana primly replies that in that case, Juanjo should have turned her over to the authorities not locked her up in an asylum. Connie says that Juanjo is a good man and he loves her. Susana says that she is crazy in love with him, too. She says that Connie can’t imagine how she feels about never seeing him again. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Juanjo.
That’s right – there really is nothing to thank Vic for Izzy has Vic’s attention now. Izzy says that he would like to have a normal life: get married; have children; form a family. In other words, he wants a more tranquil life. Izzy says that he has done everything for Victor and always been loyal and he appreciates everything that Victor has done for him but now he would like Victor to step aside and give him the opportunity to have another life. “What can I say,” says Victor, “the life you describe is the least you deserve.” Izzy can’t believe it. He asks if Victor is serious. He can really start a new life with Connie? Of course, replies Vic. What’s more, he wants to give Izzy his first hug of “bendición,” “blessing.” We see that Vic is wearing the Injecto-Death 3000 but he doesn’t use it. He makes an unpleasant face, though, that Izzy can’t see. “Thanks so much,” says Izzy. “There’s nothing to thank me for,” replies Vic.
Juanjo says that he came over to have coffee with Connie but since she is busy, he’ll leave. Susana replies that no, she will leave. She leaves. JJ tells Connie that he loves Susana but she is always looking for excuses to leave him. He says that in reality, Susana is not prepared to be his woman.
Vic is with Estefi. He wants information. He wants to know why she sought Reina out when she was a simple seamstress. Why does she want her to commit suicide? He knows that it wasn’t because of her relationship with Nicolás Nuñez.
Volunteers for the drug test get $5/day and a free medical workup MM comes to the morgue to talk to Dra Moto. She says that she has nothing to say to him. He says that he knows that she has been searching in the archives for samples of the drugs used in Proyecto Hoopiter. News travels fast around here, says Moto. MM asks if she wants to be a volunteer again. Moto again says that she has nothing to say to him about this. “Or is there someone else who wants to volunteer?” asks MM.
It’s in the cards Navier wheels in a breakfast cart to their love nest. Reina is impressed with Navier’s planning. He replies that the beginning of their new life requires a moment like this – just for the two of them. She says that she doesn’t think she can fall asleep again. Navier asks why and she replies that she is afraid that this is a dream and she will wake up and he will disappear. Navier says that won’t happen because he will never disappear. He will always be with her. She says that making love with him always makes her ravenous. Navier says that it makes him ravenous, too, for her. They sip champagne. Navier brings over the covered plates. They remove the covers and caras de impactadas! They each hold up a playing card – the Queen of Hearts. After who knows how many episodes the playing card symbol of vengeance is back! Reina says that they will never be left alone. This “infierno” will never end. Reina says that she can’t take anymore. Navier wonders who could be behind this. It can’t be Victor. Who the hell could it be? We see someone with a tank of some gas labeled as “toxic.” Reina says someone is trying to harm them. They shouldn’t eat anything. Navier agrees and wonders about the drink but says that the bottle was completely sealed. Whoever is behind this is very intelligent. This is a game but he knows how to play games, too.
Maybe I’ve gotten a little too much into “True Blood” Estefi tells Victor that it isn’t money or power, it’s love and hate that motivates her. He asks why she wants to lie to him. She won’t tell him anything more. He already knows too much. But, she will tell him one more thing to satisfy his curiosity. She says that she sought out Reina Ortiz to make her wedding dress and on purpose chose her to come to her wedding. [Flashback to this scene] The only thing that went wrong was that she fell in love with Nicolas Nunez that night. When she found out that NN was going to marry Reina, she went after him to try and stop him and that is when by the kind of coincidence that happens on novelas, Victor planted drugs and had NN shot. [Flashback to that scene.] It was she who told Reina that NN was dead. That was the beginning of her vengeance. “Ah,” says Victor, “a coincidence. And when the taxi Reina was in was shot up, the bathtub shooting, the kidnapping, every time her life was in danger, Frank Marino, Carmen, Delfina, Rocky Balboa…” “Shhh,” says Estefi, “you already know too much. I want you to know that I want her to commit suicide, I want her to believe her life has no value. Killing her would be too easy. I want her blood… as if I were a vampire.”
Moto tells MM that no one wants to or should test that poison. MM doesn’t believe her. She is researching it for someone. He asks what secrets she is hiding. “None,” replies Moto, and even if she was, she wouldn’t tell him. MM is also a human lie detector and he can tell that Moto is lying. She warns him not to get in her way. He replies that it has been a long time since he was in her way. He remembers what she did under the influence of the drug – she was “bestial, fuerte, unica…” At this moment, Laz comes in and asks if he is interrupting. No, says Moto, MM was just leaving. He leaves. Laz says that he doesn’t like MM. But he has come to say that he talked to their lawyer and the judge is going to award the custody of Agatha tomorrow. Moto hugs Laz and tells him that nothing ever will separate them from Agatha.
You wouldn’t refuse a mother’s request to help her son, would you? Asunción says that now that Esmeeth knows her most guarded secret, she wants to know about Esmeeth’s relationship with FELS. Esmeeth replies that he committed many errors. Estefi is a weakness that never should have occurred. “But you still love him?” asks Asunción. She asks Esmeeth to help him get out of this “infierno” that he is in. Esmeeth replies that she can’t. It’s too late.
Victor muses on Estefi’s hints about the other person working with her. Cobra comes in. She says that she didn’t bring champagne because she can’t drink it but it would appropriate to the occasion if what Estefi told her is true – that she (Cobra) and Victor are going to get married. Vic admits that is true. Cobra says that they will be happy with Victor, Jr. “and,” says Vic, “ with his money and power, his diamonds, his gold, his crimes, his dead.” “We’ll be a family,” says Cobra and they seem to get it on her pregnancy notwithstanding.
Navier calls his people and tells them to investigate the kitchen and wait staff and let him know what they find. Reina is rocking back and forth. She asks what he is thinking. He replies that he is trying to guess the next play in the game.
Estefi tells her accomplice that Navier will never guess her next play in the game. They won’t expect that the air coming out of the air conditioning will suffocate them. A gas is coming out that won’t let them breathe.
Reina says that she feels like she can’t breathe. Navier kisses her. She asks him to tell her that everything will be all right, that he will take care of the threat against them, that he will solve everything like he always does.
Look what happened to Joan Rivers Estefi tells her accomplice over the phone that this gas can take down anything. It will paralyze and suffocate Navier and Reina. It’s a fatal anesthetic gas. Who knows? There are always risks associated with anesthesia.
Your love makes me lightheaded or maybe we’re being gassed Reina and Navier lie down on the bed. Reina succumbs to the effect of the gas.
Navier realizes something is coming out of the air conditioning vent. He tries to get out of the bed to look for the control to the air conditioning.
Estefi tells her accomplice: “They love each other. He won’t leave her alone. He won’t go and try and find anyone because he knows that it is dangerous. [He could have called for help on his phone.] Likewise, he won’t believe that the food is poisoned because that is too easy. He is strong but not invincible. He can’t withstand it. He doesn’t stand a chance against me.
Navier passes out.
Estefi tells her accomplice: “Let’s go. Their bodies await me. I’m so excited.”
Vic on the phone with MM. MM says let’s not rest on our laurels. I don’t want one dead body to change our plans. Me either, says Vic but it’s hard to think when you have the proofs that would send me to jail for life. Don’t worry, I’ll get the proofs, says MM. MM tells Vic that they need another volunteer. Those we had are no good anymore. Vic: Guess what? I think I have the perfect volunteer. MM: Who is it? V: you don’t know her. Her name is Connie Leiva. Vic and MM continue their discussion over a scene of Izzy and Connie kissing. MM: Who is this Connie Leiva? Vic: A poor idiot but she is healthy and very strong. Izzy tells Connie that he is free. They are free to love each other. Izzy tells her that he spoke to Vic and told him what he needed and he let him go. Connie says that now Izzy is the normal guy that she always wanted. They embrace.
MM asks Victor if Connie offered to be a volunteer. Victor replies that Connie isn’t a real volunteer. They’ll have to give her a little ayudita (help) so that she can decide.
MM tells Vic that he understands. “You will take care of it then?” “Right away,” replies Victor.
Maybe Izzy could hire himself out sewing people’s lips closed for Estefi
Connie and Izzy are in bed. She asks him what he will do to earn money now that he is an ordinary guy. Izzy suggests various things that don’t meet Connie’s approval – running a gym and running a bodyguard agency. Connie has a brilliant idea – Izzy could sew. Izzy replies that he doesn’t know how to sew. Connie says that she would teach him. She wants him to be with her all day. She doesn’t want to lose him again. Never, says Izzy.
It’s called "Friends with Benefits"
Laz and Moto have a drink to celebrate the fact that they are sure that they will be awarded custody of Agatha tomorrow. He tells her not to drink too much mentioning the bad thing that happened the last time they got drunk. “It was not really a bad thing,” says Moto. Laz asks her to promise him that they will always be friends. Moto says that some friends have sex. “Not us,” replies Laz. He points out that it did happen once though. Moto clarifies, “One night, various times.” Laz doesn’t want to talk about it anymore. It makes him feel bad. Why? asks Moto. They kiss.
Angelina Jolie you are not, Estefi
Estefi tells the unconscious Reina that she isn’t the sleeping beauty but she, Estefi, is Maleficent. She goes over to Navier and calls him her prince, her dragon. She says it is shameful that he is half naked with her. Why her and not me? She tells him that he never understood who he should be with. She says that the Dragon made a fatal mistake, a lethal one. She covers up Reina with a sheet.
She tells Navier that he is hers and always will be. For the second time, Estefi undresses an unconscious Navier, straddles him, takes off her gas mask and then her clothes.
Laz and Moto are kissing. They agree that they are friends. They are more friends than ever. They can like each other and kiss and touch and make love. But nothing will change – they will always be friends.
Estefi pretends to have sex with Navier while her accomplice takes suggestive photos of them.
Izzy tells Connie that he has to go back to the mansion. Vic has called. He owes Vic this. It’s the last time. He can pack his stuff and find an apartment. They can’t live here with Christian. He tells Connie that he will never fail her. Izzy is so happy. Connie wants to be with him forever. “Just like the marriage service says, until death do us part,” says Izzy. He leaves. There’s a knock on the door. Two guys come in, toss the place and chloroform Connie.
When Victor acts like a friend, you should start worrying or Love has really addled your brain, Izzy
Izzy has gone to Juanjo’s place. JJ asks him to relax and tell him everything about his relationship with Connie. Izzy replies that he doesn’t have much time. He knows that JJ and Connie are friends. He wants to let JJ know that she is with him and she is safe and sound. He tells JJ that he isn’t going to work for Vic any more. He will get a decent job and will take care of Connie. JJ says that he will keep an eye on them. He won’t let Izzy hurt Connie. He is kind of like her younger brother. Izzy says JJ doesn’t have to do that, he loves Connie like crazy. JJ replies that sometimes love isn’t enough. Izzy tells JJ not to worry. He didn’t think that you could quit a job with a bad person. But Victor didn’t behave like a boss. He behaved like a friend. There’s a knock on door. It’s Susana.
Laz and Moto in bed post sex - thinking to themselves:
Moto: I can’t tell him that I like him so much.
Laz: I can’t tell her that she drives me crazy.
Moto: I can’t tell her that I want to do this again very night.
Laz: I can’t tell her that I love her. I can’t tell her that I want to be with her all the time.
Moto: I can’t tell him that he made me feel like a real woman.
Laz: I can’t tell her that she made me feel like a real man.
Moto & Laz: Enough. Be quiet and sleep. You can’t say anything.
Christián has come to see ORBO. ORBO asks why Christián needs to talk to him when it is so late? Christián replies that it has been a long night with lots of work. ORBO suggests that they talk another time. Christián- I want to talk about “lo nuestro.” Orbo looks confused.
When you sew a Cobra’s lips closed, you have to watch out for its fangs
Estefi sees Vic going out. He says that he has a lot to do. Estefi asks if he is starting his divorce proceeding with Reina. Vic replies that he is doing that, among other things. Estefi says that it is late for a meeting with a lawyer. Vic says that he doesn’t want to annoy Navier. Estefi gets to the point. She tells Vic to do what he wants but don’t marry the Cobra. Estefi says that she is just having having his baby. He doesn’t have to spend the rest of his life with her. Vic thanks her for caring about him. He says maybe his time with the Cobra won’t be “all of his life” Cobra is listening. Vic leaves. Cobra tells Estefi, “we’ll see who dies first.” Estefi says to herself, “Que ganas de coser.” How I want to sew.
The Passion of the Dragon or At Least She Didn’t Use Nails
Reina wakes up and looks around. She appears to be in a church and Navier is crucified on the cross behind the altar.
At Least She Didn’t Use Nails
Indeed! 'Crucifying' Navier, talking about a thirst for Reina's blood because of a hatred much greater than jealousy over Navier, taking credit for -- BOASTING ABOUT -- a string of murders...there are only three weeks of episodes left, but I may run out of nerfazos to throw at the screen if Estefi keeps it up.
There are so many great lines, but just to pick out a few:
Angelina Jolie you are not, Estefi.
When you sew a Cobra’s lips closed, you have to watch out for its fangs
Is this the meeting of the Women Who Make Bad Choices in Men support group?/ Is this the meeting of the “Women who Love Bad Men” support group?
Thank you so much, Jean. This is prime stuff!
Did someone give Izzy Hoopiter Juice? How could he possibly think that Vic would just nicely give him his freedom like that? He knows Vic better than anyone else and knows his MO!
The crucifixion was ridiculous. That whole gassing R&N and Navier rape scene was ridiculous.
True story: I woke up this morning thinking about how Agatha is related to almost ever character in this tn. Couldn't believe that was on my mind. LOL!
I especially liked ”Women Who Make Bad Choices in Men support group” They reminded me of those International Cafe commercials.
Was this the first time we have seen a King of Hearts card? I can't remember that in any other episodes.
Did BSC Estefy take off her gas mask? I missed that part. She truly is BSC, right down to the crucifixion, whether by nails or ropes. I was. not. expecting. that. at all. Her helper must be rather strong, to erect that cross, what with the weight of Javier. A pregnant woman should not lift weight that heavy.
I wonder who her accomplice is???
What I REALLY wonder is why Stefy singled out Reina to be her seamstress in the very first capítulo of this telenovela? If she knew, back then, that Reina is the daughter of Asunción et al, then I won’t even ask “how” she new that, because this is, after all, a telenovela. ;-)
Laz & DocMoto … they are a done deal . The writers are using the oldest cliché in the books, and it still works. I wonder if she will come up preggers?
Izzy is dead meat if he doesn't do something fast. He should know better than to trust Victor's "friendship".
"Has it been explained how Hoopiter Juice can both make you forget AND remember stuff? And how exactly was it supposed to created super-soldiers?"
The idea was it was supposed to increase strength and endurance. Unfortunately, it triggered psychotic breaks and subsequent amnesia in some subjects.
The fact that a dose of the drug triggered Reina's memory was, I think, unexpected.
Doris,
"Was this the first time we have seen a King of Hearts card?"
It's the first time I can remember seeing one. I suppose it's a signal that Navier is now also a target for Queen Crazypants.
My cable provider shows the first half of Reina's hour devoted to the president's speech. Then Reina is listed for one half hour, ending at 8pm Central time.
This doesn't affect our plan for recapping, but when it may affect the broadcast numbering. (I'm trying not to watch ahead so I won't know for a few days) :D
I assume that we have further revelations to come about why Estefi had it in for Reina from the beginning.
Was one of the cards a King of Hearts? I didn't see that. How would Estefi have known which one they each would pick up? Ooops, loose beanie, tighten ... and ok.
Yes, Estefi did take her gas mask off before her photo shoot with the unconscious Navier.
So far, the Hoopiter Juice doesn't seen to do anything but make people crazy or dead but maybe the formula just needs a little tweaking ;-) .
Yes, Izzy sure was naive in thinking that Victor would just let him go off with Connie. But we had to go somewhere with their story.
The writers obviously wanted to have the image of the crucifixion regardless of how improbable it would have been to set up and the improbability doesn't end there - stay tuned.
If Estefi really wanted to drive Reina to kill herself, she would kill Clarita, Connie, Asunción and probably Navier - deprive Reina of the people she cares about and needs. Except for making Reina feel like she can't escape, I don't think the gassing and crucifixion stunt really made her more likely to commit suicide.
NM - Miss Crazypants, indeed!
On my computer, your king and Jean's queen are staring each other down, and Victor is between you, admiring the crown!
You are such a card!
:D
This is the first time that I have seen the King of Hearts reference in the actual telenovela, but in Telemundo's website promo material they showed Javier as the King of Hearts, FELS as the King of Spades and Victor as the King of Diamonds. Just saying.
Penny
I have been using Telemundo's website to watch episodes with English subtitles, but they changed the website taking the English away...GRRR! Now, I am totally reliant on you guys and my limited Spanish.
How do you guys know Spanish? I have come a long way in my comprehension (which is why I started watching) from Capitulo 1 but still have a loooong way to go.
I have discovered telenovelas may not be the best resource to hear Spanish. I seem to only be learning words like kill, hitman, four-eyes, and various swear words. Maybe I should try kiddie shows!
~Newbie
Watching novelas is a great way to help your Spanish comprehension. You are right that the vocabulary on novelas is somewhat limited but they are entertaining and still useful. To be most useful as a learning tool, you are better off watching with the Spanish subtitles or at least trying to follow with the Spanish subtitles before watching with the English ones.
As for learning Spanish, there are now lots of online courses and programs, some of them free, that teach grammar and vocabulary.
Wish I had more time to comment. Busy times at my workplace.
Welcome, Newbie! I concur with Jean that watching telenovelas increases one's listening comprehension a lot. Also, you can write down unfamiliar grammatical structures or words while watching and then look them up later. Novelas really helped me with the subjunctive. Book larnin' just seemed to make it more confusing!
This telenovela is very entertaining, so that's why I am going this route. I watch it at night without closed captioning and then try to sneak it in with the CCs in the morning to pick up what I missed.
Another pitfall of Telenovela 101 is figuring out if I missed the explanation because of the language barrier or if the explanation is missing on purpose for dramatics.
If only I could figure things out as quickly as a Dragon...
~Newbie
I well remember my first novela - Gata Salvaje on Univisión. I came in in the middle and I had absolutely no idea what was going on (and I didn't even realize there were subtitles for quite a while) - this veiled woman was wandering around on a beach at night. It turned out she was looking for her infant son she had left there 30 years before... But poco á poco I figured it out because basically all novelas are about the same thing and most of them have a lot of repetition.
So don't despair. Reina is almost done and then you can try a new one. That's the great thing about novelas - there's always a new one coming along.
No me toques!
Quiero casarme.
El hijo no es tuyo.
Te odio!
Infeliz!
Boludo!
No PUEDE ser!
Que onda?
El es buen onda.
No puede ser. (This gets used a lot -LOL
Valgame Dios!
Te mato!
Es la mujer/el hombre de mi vida.
Somos novios.
Lo odio.
Largate!
Me engañó.
So watching telenovelas gives us quite a range of questionably useful phrases, especially if we ever find ourselves trapped in a telenovela. :-)
Love your lists! I recognized most of them. Wooo! I can also add:
Te extraño.
Déjame en paz.
Tranquila!(Said 30 times in 6 seconds.)
Respira. (See above rule.)
Infarto.
Déjame sola.
Te amo.
Fuiste tu?
Names also mess me up. It took two episodes to realize Asuncion was a name and not something google refused to translate. Imagine the confusion with Fernando San Juan>Pablo Picasso>Gregorio (insert last name) not to be outdone by Nicolas Nunez>Javier Bolivar>Sr. Adams among others.
If you guys are still in the learning process like me, I recommend Duolingo.com. It is the best/most addicting resource I have found. Personally, I think it is better than Rosetta Stone for learning on your own.
~Newbie
I guess we'll see!
~Newbie
Newbie: I am way beyond Duolingo for Spanish - that is, I already know all the grammar even if I frequently don't use it correctly. I have a very large vocabulary, a good accent and no fear of speaking. Right now, I have a private teacher and I do sight translations of English texts into Spanish.
But I did use Duolingo when I learned some Italian for a trip to Sicily a few years ago. I started studying Spanish with the all-oral Pimsleur system that I liked a lot for an almost perfectly phonetic language like Spanish.
I am all about the "Immersion" portion of Duolingo where you can translate posted articles. It has helped me a lot with sentence structure and adding vocabulary to my toolbox. It is also giving me a lot of useless knowledge unless, of course, I ever end up on Jeopardy!
If only reading and hearing were the same skill. That's where Reina comes in though!
Sorry to get off the topic at hand....Reina!

I just keep reading it over and over and over.
Reina holds an unconscious Navier in her lap. She desperately tries to get her Dragon to open his eyes. Navier opens his eyes. “Who did this to you?” Reina asks him. Navier replies that he’ll kill whoever did this to him.
Christian and ORBO talk. Christian wants to know what ORBO will do with what he knows. “If you really weren’t dead I imagine you will want to take control” Christian tells him. ORBO asks Christian to give him time – he is overwhelmed with this return. “I can see that” Christian tells him. “If you didn’t call for me it was for a reason” Christian tells him. “I first needed to get accommodated” ORBO tells Christian. Christian tells ORBO that people found out he returned and want to know what he’ll do. ORBO tells Christian that for now let it seem like he is still dead. There is a reason he didn’t want to make his return public – it has to be a secret. “A secret that many people know” says Christian. “It isn’t like that secret that we both share for years” Christian tells ORBO.
Estefy is on her laptop photo shopping a picture of her with Navier semi naked and smooching. She’s trying to find the perfect place for her love nest. It should have been the place they had to conceive their child.
Reina asks Navier if she should call hotel security. “No, I’ll get better” Navier tells her. He is the head of the CIA and doesn’t want others to know he was gassed, undressed, and crucified. Reina believes it was Victor. “He already kidnapped you once” she tells him. “Do you remember?” she asks him. He does remember what happened. Flashback: Reina begs Victor to make love to her to save Navier. Navier is sure it wasn’t Victor who did this to him. Navier has evidence in his hands and because of this Victor wouldn’t dare crucify again because it would be a big mistake. Navier believes it was more than one person and is sure one of those persons is Estefy. “Why do you say that because she undressed you?” Reina asks him. “Among other things” he replies. Reina is raging mad and swears she’ll kill Estefy and get back at her for what she did and for undressing him and for possibly touching him too. Navier tells Reina that this time the revenge that will be written in blood will be his.
Connie is unconscious at Victor’s lab. Victor and Mauro are planning on using Connie as a lab rat to experiment some drug with her.
Izzy daydreams of Connie retouching a wedding dress for their daughter while he helps pass her things. Cobra comes into the kitchen. Izzy asks her where Victor is. Cobra replies that Victor went out. Izzy finds it strange because Victor had called him and it was urgent. Izzy supposes that Victor is getting used to be without him. He tells Cobra that he quit and will now go and live with his Connie. “What about my brother?” Cobra wonders.
Estefy warns Christian to be careful what he says to ORBO. “He’s not the real Big O well he is the real one but he’s not who you think” she tells him. Christian realized this and tested ORBO. He asks what she means when she says that ORBO is the REAL BIG O. She tells him it is a story. He wants to know it. “If I tell you will you tell me everything and when I say everything you know what I mean, no?” she tells him. Cobra shows up. Estefy leaves the two siblings so they can talk. Cobra tells Christian that Connie left him for Izzy. She asks him if he wants her to kill one of them or both of them.
Victor tells Mauro that Connie is the ideal one for this. Mauro leaves. Connie wakes up and freaks out upon finding herself chained to a stretcher. She starts screaming away and Victor injects her which causes her to pass out.
Laz and Dra. Moto decide to change the sex rule. The other rules will stay the same. They rate their sex as a 9.75 [which rounds to 9.8]. They agree there are small details they have to improve on. Dra. Moto receives a phone call from Navier. She tells him she’s on her way there.
Navier gives orders to the cops. He wants a list of anyone who could have been at the hotel – guests, employees, any workers. Dra. Moto shows up and tells Navier he can count on her for the search. She and the cops leave. Reina wonders how she didn’t realize he was a secret agent the first time she saw him. “Because the first time you saw me I was a simple valet parking pretending to be a millionaire” he replies. “I mean now” she tells him. She can see he was born for this. She tells him that she’d be dead if it weren’t for him. He tells her she’ll live many years and to not talk about death because they are both alive. Dra. Moto shows Navier and Reina a handkerchief. Reina asks who the handkerchief belongs to. “To Patricio Picasso” replies Navier.
Patricio shows up drunk at Esmeeth’s place. He tells her they shouldn’t be separated and that he misses her. She tells him that he is drunk. He tells her that he is desperate because his life has no meaning. She tells him it must be hard to lose a job after so many years. “Nonsense” he tells her. “What is hard to losing you” he tells her. They kiss.
Estefy tells ORBO she’s moving into Reina’s old room. She doesn’t want to sleep with him anymore. He doesn’t want to sleep with her either. She tells him to be careful with his relationship with Esmeeth who isn’t the woman he painted. She tells him Esmeeth is an agent for the CIA and is astute and dangerous. He tells her he knows how to take care of himself. She laughs and tells him she doesn’t think so. If it were him he’d still be locked up in the psychiatric hospital. He tells her that her plan isn’t working – no one believes that he is the Real Big O. “Who cares” she tells him. “You are here and enjoying the life that was taken from you” she tells him. He asks her why she is doing this for him. “I don’t know” she tells him. “Maybe it is that I have mercy or that even after dead I want to bother the old Big O” she tells him.
Susana tells Juanjo she doesn’t want to lose him. She tells him she called him all night before coming over. He tells her he went for a walk to try and forget her. She asks him if he forgives her. They kiss. She tells him she has a proposal for him. She asks him is he wants to marry her. He says that he does want to marry her.
Navier says that Patricio is too intelligent to have left something like this. Of course it would be that Patricio knew what his conclusion would be and left it there on purpose. Dra. Moto doesn’t want to defend Patricio but she knows him and knows Patricio would never leave something like this behind. Navier doesn’t think it was Patricio. Dra. Moto will continue to investigate. Reina asks Navier if he thinks Patricio could be Estefy’s accomplice. Navier tells Reina to leave all this to him. Reina knows he is going with her and is scared how all this could end.
Navier sneaks into Estefy’s room and wakes her up. He tells her that he will be there her baby is born. He tells her knows it was her. She admits it was.
Victor talks on the phone and says that it is done. “It is only a matter of a time with what I injected her” he says.
Estefy is proud of what she did. They talk about how she used the gas. It wouldn’t have been easy to poison him or drug him. She needed to use something that not even he would expect.
Victor tells whoever is the other end of the phone that she’ll be credible. [Is he talking to Mauro? I will just call Caller] The caller says that the studies came out perfect. The caller will always want to try it again on Reina.
Estefy imagines Reina fell asleep first and it took Navier more time since he is so strong but it was only a matter of time. He tells her that everything is a matter of time in this life. He asks her to tell him more about her fantasy.
Victor tells the caller they’ll have Reina again when the caller gets the evidence that Navier has.
Estefy tells Navier the sick things she did to him while he was unconscious. Navier doesn’t want the details. He wants to know about when she crucified him. She tells him he crucified himself because his cross is and will always be not loving her. She tells him that he is the only one to blame for choosing wrong and for not having chosen her.
Victor tells the caller he’ll never give up on Reina. Caller promises he’ll get the evidence soon and even more soon they will get the glory. Victor says that when the FBI and the CIA find out what all this about they will give them the glory and power.
Estefy tells Navier that he had the power to change it all. It isn’t her fault that he chose the woman who she hates the most. Navier says that means that she hates Reina not because of him. Estefy tells him to find out. He will and he will also find out who her accomplice is.
Reina finds Patricio in the living room and she asks him if was capable of leaving her almost dead and tying Navier to a cross. He denies it. She tells him what happened the night before and tells him he has everything to have done it. She tells him that he forget his handkerchief.
Laz tells Dra. Moto that Connie is missing.
Christian gives orders for the investigation on Connie’s disappearance to start. Connie and Susana are there. Juanjo says that Connie has to show up and Christian says it all depends on who is behind this disappearance. Christian calls Izzy and tells him that he wants to see him. Christian tells Izzy that Connie was kidnapped. Christian believes Izzy was behind this. Victor comes into the kitchen. “Tell me you didn’t do anything to my Connie” Izzy tells Victor.
Patricio denies having been behind on what happened. If he were behind it then they wouldn’t have had any proof. “What about Estefy?” Reina asks. Esmeeth shows up. “Then Estefy is responsible for this hell” Esmeeth says. Patricio leaves. Esmeeth says that Fernando [was this a mistake?; I'm sure she meant Patricio] knows it was Estefy.
Estefy tells Navier he will never know who helped him. “What are you going to do?” Estefy asks him. He replies he could have her locked up. He could have her rot in prison. Estefy says if he does that then the names of the agents including Esmeeth would come to light and they’ll rot under ground. She tells him she had the list and gave them to Victor. She tells him she has a copy of the list. Navier thinks her accomplice is Patricio. Her phone rings. Navier snatches it from her and points a gun at her. It is Mauro telling her he is waiting for her at the casino. Navier knows it was not Patricio’s voice on the phone. He tells her that she is saved because of the baby she has in her womb but after the baby is born… Estefy asks him what he’ll do – will he take it from her. Navier asks her if she is the one who wanted Reina to kill herself. Estefy says that she is not responsible for all the evil in the world. Estefy says that Reina has more enemies.
Victor denies being behind Connie’s disappearance. But Izzy thinks it was him. Victor offers to help him find Connie. He offers to stay if Victor frees her. Izzy brings up what he knows about Victor. Victor shuts him up and tells him he isn’t behind Connie’s disappearance.
Esmeeth is on the phone and tells whoever is on the other end that when they have news on her to call her. Esmeeth tells Reina that Connie was kidnapped. “Does Navier know?” Reina asks. Esmeeth hasn’t been able to come into contact with Navier. Reina is sure Connie is with Estefy.
Estefy tells Navier that he will have to play because she likes puzzles. She tells him that if he kills her and his baby then Reina and Clara will die. She reminds him that she is the QoD of she isn’t scared of crime and blood. She tells him that if something happens to her. She tells him that if he locks her up again then life will become death for his loved ones and agents. The pain will be so big that he won’t be able to live with it. Because nothing hurts more than fault. He tells her that she can do whatever but he will destroy her and nothing will save her. Navier says that he will find out who is her accomplice. He has the voice from the phone recorded in his head. And for both she and her accomplice it will be worse than hell for having messed with him.
Christian assures everyone he will find Connie. Laz receives a video message from Connie where she says she left after the men entered her home. She doesn’t know if they were sent by Izzy or Christian. They are sure she is being threatened but they don’t know by who.
Navier asks Victor when she gave him the list. “Why don’t you ask her?” Victor asks. Navier says that one day Victor will ask for mercy. Victor is sure it will never happen. Navier leaves.
Izzy threatens to kill Cobra if she doesn’t tell him where Connie is. Izzy has a gun pointed at her. Cobra points a gun at Izzy. Victor says Cobra is pregnant. Izzy asks them both about Connie. Victor says that neither of them have Connie.
Estefy in a cheap wig and maid uniform meets with Mauro. They kiss.
Navier says that Estefy was seen going into the hotel. Navier is going there. Navier is sure he heard the voice before but doesn’t know where. They are sure it was not Patricio who called her. Patricio investigated and has the evidence that it was not him. Esmeeth asks Patricio if Estefy has stopped supporting him. Navier says that is a good point. Navier asks Esmeeth to take care of the disappearance of Connie. Navier leaves.
At Esmeeth’s place, Laz tells Reina he is sure the video is a fake. Victor shows up with some documents that he wants Reina to look over. The documents are about their divorce.
Mauro kisses Estefy’s feet. She said she sneaked over there. Estefy says that Navier heard him. Mauro says he spoke little and couldn’t know who he was. Estefy says that no one must know about them. Not Navier nor Victor. Phone rings. Estefy answers. She says Navier is at the hotel and has found her. Estefy sneaks out. Navier has arrived. Estefy hides.
So obviously, when Reina had Navier in her lap, they were doing Michelangelo's Pietá. Of course, with all those muscles, Eugenio Siller must weigh half again if not more than Paola Núñez. She never could have held him like that much less have gotten his dead weight off the cross and into her lap to begin with! He must have been supported in some unseen way when they filmed it. But whatever. How many novelas do tableaus of famous sculptures?
Just speculating here, but what if Estefi's vengeance on Reina is related to the massacre of her parents. She saw the killer. If it was Pedro Ortiz, then she might want to punish his children. There must be more to it than that one hopes.
Does Estefi really need a reason to do anything she does? She's nuts. But would she have really planted evidence against her dear brother? Whoever helped her with the cross must have something against Navier. Victor again, or was he not allowed to know about this part of her plan?
Kelly
Good question about Victor. I don't think he knows about any of this. He's busy in his drug concocting business anyway.
Yes, the Pieta imagery was very prominent. But the logic behind Reina getting Navier off that cross all by herself and placing him on her lap, was ridiculous! Or maybe, the Hoopiter Juice really DID give her super strength. :)
I sick of Estefi. I'm ready for Reina's dad to make his appearance.
The painterly crucifixion followed by the Pieta` was striking but not that surprising. Anyone who saw La Tempestad knows how William Levy was used as a Christ-like figure for the first third or so of the novela -- at least until they decided to give him and the novela a make-over. Even Sebastian Rulli was photographed in some very theological postures in Lo que la vida me robó. I think maybe these images aren't as startling to Mexican audiences as they are to us. The Passion Play, after all, is alive and well in Latin America.
These extraordinarily beautiful men -- Siller, Levy, Rulli -- pose a challenge. How to display their bodies without crossing a line? I wonder if this particular moment in telenovela history will be remembered for its cult-like devotion to masculine beauty... (not that I'm complaining).
Welcome to the Reinamaniac Support Group and Spanish class! I couldn't agree more with my friends here -- telenovelas are great for improving listening comprehension and for increasing vocabulary (though Reina is a tough one to cut your teeth on).
I think language learning is a lifelong process and the more sources you use, the better. Duolingo is a terrific site. Even when you've outgrown the lessons, there's a lot to be learned from other users. It's also fun to dabble in languages other than Spanish.
Jean -- translating from English to Spanish? You impress the pants off of me!
Doris -- I have that book too and I really like it!
ORBO and Christian are in cahoots? Did I miss something there or is this a "novela mystery" for the time being?
Doris: Thanks for the tip! I just ordered a copy. A new version is coming out in January 20th, but who can wait that long? The reviews from everyone on here and Amazon make it seem like a must have.
NovelaMaven: You are brave to dabble. I would be mixing words like crazy!
~Newbie
In the scene immediately following the “La Pieta” pose, Javier sat by himself, shirtless. Since nobody has mentioned it, am I the only one who thought he was trying to do a Rodin’s “Thinker” pose? Did my Art History 101 course from 43 years ago warp my brain? (well, let’s not answer that one . . .)
How Reina got Javier off that cross is a true telenovela beanie hat moment. Thank heavens I had the chin strap engaged!
" It's also fun to dabble in languages other than Spanish."
NovelaMaven, I agree. My problem, however, was when I did not know the word in a third language and I wanted to substitute with a Spanish word. Ack!
Jean you're probably right about Steffy's motive for hating Reina. Yours is the most logical theory. But I have one last Crockpot Conspiracy to offer.
Maybe Steffy hates Reina because Reina is the Queen of Hearts, the chosen one, and Steffy is not. The chosen one is the one who will have the power over the red diamonds. Javier is the man who is destined to fall in love with the chosen one. Clearly, he didn't fall in love with Steffy, which makes Steffy doubly hate Reina.
Oh, and one more hopeful theory. I am hoping that it turns out that Steffy's baby is ORBO's, not Javier's. Their prenatal test indicated it was Javier's, but given this telenovelas strange take on the genetics of close male relations, maybe that's a mistake.Ojala que si.
Penny
Newbie, we haven't heard anything about ORBO and Christian being in cahoots. Maybe, though, there never was anything between them -- perhaps that was Christian's way of testing ORBO? The real Faux O would have known said "What are you talking about, bozo?"
There have been a lot of beanie moments like the ascent and descent -- we just chose to let them pass. Remember how Navier jumped into Connie's house through a narrow window high on the wall? We never saw him do it. He just suddenly appeared.
These guys don't have the budget for stunts and cyber magic tricks. This one, like all telenovelas, has always depended on the kindness of, um, viewers.
Great details on the recap. I appreciate your hard work!
Boy, Estefi has surely become completely unredeemable. Are they really going with her having Navier's baby? I was thinking she'd lose it, or maybe it would be a hysterical pregnancy - no baby at all. I suppose they'll go with Estefi dying and Reina and Navier raising it.
I'd prefer a hysterical pregnancy because it's what she deserves.
Parte Uno
Men never look behind anything – Hotel
Estefi, in her maid’s outfit and wig, pushes a cleaning cart down the hallway. Just as the elevator arrives, she hides behind a wall. Navier gets off the elevator and looks around but finally moves away. Estefi sighs in relief.
Maybe it’s just a really ugly baby - Esmeeth’s apartment
Victor has brought divorce papers to Reina. Laz, Dra Moto, Román and baby Agatha are visiting. Vic tells Laz and Moto that he always knew they would get together. He takes a look at the baby and asks who she is – “Agatha, our daughter,” replies Laz. Vic does a double take on the baby.
What about all the innocent people you have arrested? - Police Station
Izzy is at the police station. Christián is sure that Connie has been kidnapped by some of Izzy’s enemies. Izzy suggests that she could have been taken by some of Christián’s enemies. Christián scoffs and says that he is a policeman and the police don’t have any enemies. Izzy asks if it is really true that Christián doesn’t have anything to hide. Does Christián think that Izzy doesn’t know that he was allied with Faux O?
Esmeeth’s apartment
Victor appears to have left and now ORBO arrives at Esmeeth’s apartment and is greeted by Reina who asks what he wants. He says that he has come to see Asunción – alone.
The Dragon’s ears don’t lie - Hotel
MM lets Navier into Victor’s sex pad and film studio. Navier enters and looks very thoughtful on hearing MM’s voice. MM says that he didn’t expect a visit from him. “I imagine not,” replies Navier. MM asks if he looking for something or someone. “Busco a su amor,” “I’m looking for your love,” says Navier. He tells MM that now he recognizes the voice he heard on Estefi’s cell phone. MM must be Estefi’s and Victor’s accomplice. Why else would he be here? MM gets that awful, “You poor misguided person” expression on his face.
You had another lover, Mom? - Esmeeth’s apartment
ORBO confesses to Asunción that he isn’t Faux O but Faux O told him every detail about his life.. “and he never mentioned me, did he?” asks Asunción. “Never,” says ORBO, “and I don’t know why.” Asunción says that maybe it was because she was never as important to Faux O as he was to her. Faux O was very bad to others but he was a great defender of her especially with her husband. Reina comes in. She asks what they two could have to discuss. “The past,” says Asunción, crimes, guilt and forbidden love.” She tells Reina that Faux O was her lover and what’s more she doesn’t think that Reina’s dad really committed suicide. She thinks Faux O killed him.
No, you’re mistaken – all babies look the same - Police Station/Hoopiter Juice Lab
Izzy is on the phone with Victor. He wants to know what he did with Connie. Victor wants to know what Izzy did with Greta’s baby. He tells Izzy that he recognized the baby. “This Agatha is Laz and Greta’s child,” says Vic, “Isn’t that right?” Connie is awake and listening. Izzy admits that is correct. Vic hangs up and tells Connie that he is going to erase all her memories.
Parte Dos
The Dragon has good intuition - Hotel – Victor’s Sex Pad and Film Studio
MM tells Navier not to jump to conclusions. He says that he bought this room yesterday when he heard that Vic had put it up for sale. “Qué casualidad,” “What a coincidence,” says Navier. MM tries to divert Navier by saying that it is suspicious that he has come here to meet Vic here when he could have talked to him at home – they are brothers, right? “What is suspicious is you calling Estefi, ‘mi amor,’” says Navier. Estefi is still pushing the housekeeping cart around. Navier tells MM that he asks the questions. He is the head of this investigation. He has a plan and he isn’t going to share it with MM. MM replies that it is too bad that Navier doesn’t trust him. He was sent from Washington to help Navier. That is why he bought the apartment. He says that he is trying to collaborate even though Navier marginalizes him. Navier thanks him but says that he has his own team and only works with them. Navier says that he follows his intuition and his intuition tells him not to trust MM. Estefi dodges uniformed officers in the corridors and gets her cart to a hotel room that she enters.
When she loses her memories, will she still talk so much? - Hoopiter Juice Lab
Vic tells Connie that he is going to erase all her mediocre, stupid memories. He will see how many years she loses. He promises that the drug won’t kill her. They have been experimenting with it for years. Reina was their test subject. Connie replies that isn’t true – Reina lost her memory in the accident. Vic replies that that is partly true. Thanks to the accident, they saw that this could end well and that spurred a more in-depth investigation of the drug. Vic says that when they first injected Reina with the drug, it didn’t have the effect they intended; she lost her memory and that is what is going to happen to Connie.
Hotel
Estefi has changed out of her maid’s uniform but is still wearing her blond wig. She is heading for the elevator when FELS comes out. She takes evasive action but he recognizes his “hermanita” and grabs her. “¿Tú?” he says.
Esmeeth’s apartment
Reina asks Asunción how many more secrets she has. “Many more,” replies Asunción. She is a woman with many secrets but now it is time that Reina learns this truth. When “special dad” Pedro caught her with another man, he threatened to kill her. And then he commits suicide? That is why she believes that Faux O had him killed. Reina can’t believe it. Asunción says that she tried to do the right thing – she changed her identity and her life but.. “Our ghosts always return,” finishes ORBO. There’s a knock at the door and Esmeeth asks if she is interrupting. Reina says no. She needs to ask Esmeeth if she can find out whether her father committed suicide or was murdered. Esmeeth says that she can help but they will have to exhume his body [who’s thinking empty grave?]
Police Station
Cara de impactada de Izzy after his conversation with Vic. Christián wants to know who he was talking to. Was it about Connie? He says that this is no time for secrets. Izzy pushes him away and says that he has to find Connie. He runs out as Cobra comes in. Christián asks what she is doing there. She replies that she came to get news of Christián’s mujer or rather his ex-mujer. Christián says that she had better not be involved in Connie disappearance. She tells him not to worry – there are lots of women who would like to be with him. Christián warns her again – if she was involved in this, she will pay dearly.
Parte Tres
Bad Guys Always Want to Boast about their Evil Deeds. Too bad Tijeramundo decided to cut most of this critical scene!- Hoopiter Juice Lab
Connie reiterates her belief that Reina lost her memory in the accident. Victor says that is what everyone believes but it all started way before that. Vic says that Reina found out many things about him that incriminated him. He decided to make her his “conejillo de indias,” “guinea pig” or literally, “little rabbit of the indies.” He put a little of the drug every morning in her coffee. Flashback to Vic and Reina at breakfast. Reina tells Victor that she is not going to marry him. He replies that is not for her to decide. Reina says she and her daughter are going to leave and he has nothing to do with it. End flashback.
Vic says that then he found out that Reina had gotten proofs against him that would send him to jail forever. That was when he decided it was all or nothing. When Reina came back from Europe, he put a sedative in her coffee, chained her to the bed and injected her with the drug. Flashback to that. Vic says that Reina started to have terrible headaches. She forgot everything but then started to remember.
That is when he decided to increase the dosage. The night before the wedding he decided to give her the highest dose. Flashback. Reina pulls a gun out from under her pillow and aims it at Victor. “¿Tú vas a matarme? asks Victor amused. He tells her that if she kills him, Clarita will be buried with him. End flashback. Victor tells Connie that then there was the wedding and the accident and that’s when they realized that the drug, Factor M, was a success.
Connie says that now that he has told her everything, he is going to kill her. Vic replies that he doesn’t need to do that – the drug will make her forget everything – even that her name is Constanza Leiva. Connie asks one more question before he injects her – is it true that Agatha is her niece, the daughter of Laz and Greta? Vic confirms that is true. “Adios,” he says and injects the drug into her IV bag.

He will be watching him and the first time he makes a mistake… “What?” says MM, “you’ll report me to the authorities?” “No,” replies Navier, “Te mato,” “I’ll kill you.” “Are you threatening me, agent?” asks MM. “No amenazo,” “I don’t make threats,” replies Navier, “cumplo,” “I carry them out. No one would convict me for executing a traitor.” “Cuide sus palabras,” “Watch what you say,” says MM. “Cuide sus hechos,” “Watch what you do,” replies Navier. Navier goes to leave and FELS is at the door.
Parte Cuatro
CIA Morgue
Dra Moto comes in and calls Laz. She tells him that she is going to have the video Connie sent examined to see if it is authentic and if it gives them a trail to follow. Laz thanks her. He says that Connie confronts her problems head on. He knows her very well. She would never just stay silent about something. [How true that is!] Laz says strange things are going on. He thinks they all might be in danger. Moto’s phone rings. It’s Esmeeth. She assigns Moto to find out if Reina’s father was murdered. Moto replies that she will get an exhumation order.
Esmeeth’s apartment
ORBO tells Reina that they have to talk. He tells her that her mother has suffered a lot. He asks Reina not to lose her affection for and confidence in Asunción. It’s the only thing she has. He leaves. Reina asks Esmeeth if she has confidence in ORBO. Esmeeth says no, but for all that he looks like the maldito Faux O, she knows that he has a lot of sadness in his heart.
No, you’re not imagining it, Navier - Hotel –Victor’s Sex Pad and Film Studio
MM asks what FELS is doing at the hotel. He replies that he was following MM. Navier says this night isn’t going so well. None of the explanations he is being given are convincing. He says that he has the paranoid feeling of being surrounded by liars and traitors but maybe that’s just him. MM asks why FELS was following him. FELS replies that the wanted to see where he went. MM suggests that FELS could better occupy his time following criminals, not fellow CIA agents. Navier says that he doesn’t want either of them on his team but since they are both here he wants both of them to tell him everything they know about Proyecto Hoopiter.
Greta’s baby is the least of your problems, Connie - Hoopiter Juice Lab
Connie asks how Victor could abandon a newborn like Agatha when her mother was dead. Vic blames it on Izzy – he got lazy and left the baby near Laz. Connie says that Vic is a monster without a heart. He replies that she will be a seamstress without a memory. “We’re even then, right?” says Vic. Connie goes into convulsions. Vic reaches for his phone.
Reina has had a really, really rotten day - Esmeeth’s apartment
Asunción asks Reina’s forgiveness because has done bad things her whole life. Reina says that the only thing she wants to know is what happened with her father. Esmeeth says that Reina deserves the truth. Asunción says that in reality she always had doubts about Pedro’s suicide. He was a strong man, not easily defeated but he was surrounded by many enemies. Reina tells Asunción that from now on she only wants the truth. No more lies. Asunción replies that she will support Reina in everything.
An envelope is slipped under the door and there’s a knock. Esmeeth picks up the envelope and gives it to Reina. It’s too small and flat for a head or most any body part. Reina opens it with weary resignation and it is Estefi’s photoshopped pictures of her and Navier. There is a note. It says: This is how we conceived our child, not with love but with passion (with the sí intensifier – pero sí con pasion), with desire, with lust (lujúria), with what only I am capable of giving Navier.
Parte Cinco
Esmeeth and Asunción want to know what was in the envelope but Reina says that it is nothing. She says that she is tired – tired of so many secrets, so much intrigue, so many lies. She feels like it will never be over. She says that Estefi is going to have a child with Navier that will unite them forever. She doesn’t believe that Victor is sincere about giving her a divorce because he has kidnapped her friend. She doesn’t know if her father committed suicide or was murdered. She is afraid that this nightmare, in spite of the Navier’s efforts, will never end. Reina says that she is fed up (harta) and leaves the apartment while Asunción asks where she is going.
Hotel –Victor’s Sex Pad and Film Studio
MM says that he doesn’t know what else to tell Navier. Proyecto Hoopiter was a great project that would have made their agents invincible but some people were afraid to move forward. FELS pipes up. He says that no one was afraid to move forward. PHoo was ended because of the side effects that the drugs caused and the traumas that the drugs caused. He tells MM that he knows perfectly well what happened to Dra Montoya. She ended up in psychiatric hospital. MM says that they needed to continue to investigate. “Until she ended up dead?” asks FELS. “Until they found the perfect dose,” corrects MM. Navier asks how Júlio Cesar Blanco (JCB) got access to the drugs. MM replies that JCB was never right in the head. He probably stole some samples. Navier points out that JCB wasn’t alone – someone sent him JCB’s head. FELS says that the authorities in Madrid are still investigating.
Navier announces that he thinks that Proyecto Hoopiter is continuing. MM asks if he is crazy. Navier read the files in the archives describing the cancellation of the project. Navier says that he thinks someone outside the CIA has continued with the project. MM’s phone rings. Navier tells him to answer. It might be an emergency. MM anwers. It’s Victor. He says that there is an emergency and they need him right away. MM answers as if his girlfriend was calling to see why he was late. He tells Navier that he has a noviacita. FELS tells Navier that he doubts that PHoo was continued because it would be complicated and extremely costly. Navier reiterates that he has his doubts. MM looks uncomfortable.

Estefi says that the only way she can help is to give Estefi back the diamonds she stole. Cobra claims that she didn’t steal them and doesn’t have them. Estefi says that she doesn’t believe Cobra. Estefi tells Cobra that they have something in common – a certain amount of immunity because they are pregnant. But when their babies are born, they will be exposed and one of them could die. Cobra says that it won’t be her. Nor her either, says Estefi.
Parte Seis
They probably guessed she was being threatened because she talked so slowly - CIA Morgue
Dra Montoya tells Laz that the results of the examination of Connie’s video should be done soon. She gave it top priority. Laz doesn’t need the results. He knows that Connie was forced to make the video. He asks what is up with Reina’s father. Moto replies that she doesn’t know much – Reina suspects that he father didn’t commit suicide but was murdered. Laz says that it seems like even the dead don’t get to rest. Moto gets a call with the results of the analysis of the video. She tells Laz that the video wasn’t edited but from the tone of Connie’s voice and her movements, it is likely that she was being threatened. Laz asks what they can do to find her. “Keep investigating,” replies Moto. The CIA is continuing to investigate as is Christián with the police. Laz says that he doesn’t have any confidence in Christián. He doesn’t know if Christián is the problem or the solution.
So do something already! - Juanjo’s House

Maybe Estefi should get a lock for her bedroom door or Why doesn’t Reina ask who took the pictures? - DeRosas Mansion
Reina comes in and turns on the light. She says that she has come to put an end to this game once and for all. Estefi says she doesn’t know why Reina has shown up at this hour of the night. Reina holds up the envelope and asks if Estefi thinks that this will change what she feels about Navier. Does Estefi think that she believes the pictures? Estefi replies that is not her problem. She simply wanted to show Reina what really happened. She says that Reina is the same naïve four-eyes who believes everything she is told. Her child wasn’t conceived by insemination but by passion, which is something very different. She says that Navier will never admit it but that doesn’t matter. They both know what really happened.
Parte Siete
Reina asks what Estefi needs what she wants. Estefi replies that she doesn’t need anything. Pointing to her belly, she says that she already has what she wanted – a baby that will unite her and Navier for the rest of her life. Reina says that she supposes Estefi was responsible for the previous night as well. Estefi admits it. She says that did it to show that Navier can end up dead – but not by her. She is incapable of killing Navier but if he stays with Reina, he will have lots of enemies – too many.
Reina’s phone rings. Estefi tells her to answer it - for certain it’s Navier at this hour. Reina gets out her phone and sees that it is Navier. She answers. Navier asks where she is. Reina replies that he is fine. Estefi shouts that Reina is bothering a pregnant woman at this late hour. Navier asks if Reina is with Estefi. He tells her to stay way from Estefi. Reina hangs up.
Navier runs out of Esmeeth’s apartment. Estefi admits that Reina has a backbone. Reina tells Estefi to leave Navier in peace and to leave her alone. She wants Estefi to stay away. “Well then,” replies Estefi, “then you’re going to have to kill me. Are you capable of that? She dares her to do it.
Juanjo and Susana do their duty and pass Izzy’s info along - Dra Moto’s apartment
Laz and Moto come home. Laz pays the babysitter. There’s no news on Connie from the police. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Juanjo and Susana. They tell Laz and Moto that Izzy is sure that it was Victor who kidnapped Connie. He doesn’t have any proof, though. JJ mentions the fact that Izzy told them that he left Victor for Connie. Moto says that both Izzy and Christián are out of control about Connie – one of them knows something. “If it was Victor de Rosas,” says Laz, “what has he done with her? Killed her?”
A drug that reproduces the effect of a blow to the head? Okaaay. - Hoopiter Juice Lab
MM tell Victor that Connie will sleep for a few hours and then they can give her another dose. Vic says that he doesn’t want any more errors. “Reina didn’t die,” replies MM. “But that was just pure luck,” says Vic. He wants results, not more experimentation. MM says that his team is investigating blows to the head, specifically the blow to the head that Reina received in the accident. He hands Vic a vial and says that this drug will reproduce the effects of that blow to the head.
Esmeeth’s apartment
Neither Esmeeth nor Asunción can sleep. They are both worried about where Reina went. Asunción wonders if Estefi might have killed Reina. Esmeeth doesn’t think so because of the proofs they have against her. Asunción says that she will pray for her daughter. Reina comes back. They asks her what happened, where did she go? Reina tells Esmeeth and Asunción that she wants to be alone. She wants to be with her daughter.
Parte Ocho
Then Reina and Estefi can share a cell in prison - DeRosas Mansion
Navier finds Estefi at the foot of the stairs. He picks her up and carries her to the couch. She moans that she doesn’t want to lose her baby. Navier asks what happened. Did she fall? “No,” replies Estefi, “it was Reina. She tried to kill me and our baby.” Navier says that he has called an ambulance. Estefi repeats that she doesn’t want to lose their baby. She begs him. She knows that he hates her but this baby is the only thing she has in the world. Navier says that Reina couldn’t have pushed her. Estefi replies that Reina is all that matters to Navier – he is defending her, defending the killer of his own baby. “You want me to lose the baby, isn’t that true? “Of course not,” says Navier. Estefi tells Navier that if she loses her baby she will do everything in her power to send Reina to prison.
Maybe Agatha just needed her diaper changed - Dra Moto’s apartment
Moto tells Laz, Juanjo and Susana that she has called all the hospitals in Las Vegas and Connie isn’t in any of them. Susana says that Laz fell in love with Greta who is Victor’s daughter. Susana says that she knows something that may enable her to get information out of Victor.
Falls down the stairs always end a pregnancy, Navier, so if Estefi is still pregnant, she didn’t fall down the stairs. QED. - DeRosas Mansion
Estefi is in bed.[Navier called an ambulance but she didn’t go to the hospital?] Navier tells her that the doctor said that she has to stay in bed for a few days and take the medicine he prescribed. “Then I didn’t lose the baby?” asks Estefi. Navier replies that she has to have a sonogram but everything appears to be ok. “Thank God,” says Estefi, “and thank you for saving me.” Navier says that he doesn’t think that Reina pushed her. Estefi asks why did Reina come to her house – to chat? to have tea? She tells him not to be so naïve. She says that Reina was furious with her and said terrible things about their baby. Reina doesn’t want this baby to be born and that is why she pushed Estefi down the stairs.
"Falls down the stairs always end a pregnancy, Navier, so if Estefi is still pregnant, she didn’t fall down the stairs. QED"
As for the following sentiment, I couldn't agree more!
"Bad Guys Always Want to Boast about their Evil Deeds. Too bad Tijeramundo decided to cut most of this critical scene!- Hoopiter Juice Lab
Oh and I just love "PHoo"!
More later... but for now, ¡MUCHÍSIMAS GRACIAS!
Ok, let's see if we can make some sense of Victor and MM's drug business. There appear to be at least three drugs involved.
One is the Injecto-Death stuff that either kills you instantly (many victims) or gives you a heart attack (Navier, Reina and Big O).
Then there was the main objective of Proyecto Hoopiter - a drug that would make agents invincible. We know it was used on Dra Moto, JCB and Reina and FELS in Spain. It doesn't seem to do much in the invincibility department but it does make people crazy and/or kill them.
Now we have a drug referred to as Factor M that makes people lose their memories. We know Victor experimented with it on Reina with gradually larger doses leading up to the day she married Vic.
Victor seems to think the drug worked because Reina lost her memory after the accident but of course her memory loss could have been from a blow to the head. Reina certainly recognized Navier when he came into the Church.
Now MM has given Victor an improved formula that is supposed to mimic the effect of the kind of blow to the head that Reina got in the car accident.
We'll have to see what effect the drug has on Connie.
Thank goodness for the dedicated Reinamaniacs who are going to give us all the details--Carolina, Jean, NovelaMaven, Mauricio, every one of you, KUDOS and Huzzah!
I'm almost caught up watching the full versions on U-tub. Sadly, Mauricio's blog now has pop-ups that won't let me run the video, including something they want me to download (always a no-no for me).
Doris, I caught sight of The Thinker as well. Javier was shirtless and pantless and had the right pose. I wonder if they will give us Rodin's The Kiss at the end.
We need to expand our Crockpot Theories on why MM hates Reina so much he would collaborate with Stefi in her perverted tricks. She calls him "mi amor." He calls her "mi amor." Where did she meet him anyway? (We haven't seen any dim novelaland flashbacks yet.) Maybe she uses love or sex interchangeably to get what she wants.
Mmmm, I like the idea of Stefi's baby being ORBO's.
Anita, Estefi has forged (temporary) strategic alliances with nearly everyone in the novela, but most of the alliances end when the other person notices the knife sticking in his or her back. I wonder if the Mauro/Estefi relationship is meant to go back to the beginning.
Victor clearly doesn't know about Estefi and Mauro. What does Mauro know about Estefi and Victor?
Yes, she did recognize Navier and rushed out of the church. I also thought she married him because Greta stole the proof that would have put him away and thus removed his ability to control her. So she was in her cabales in the flashback they showed where she was furious about losing the proof and threw a mirror against the wall?
OK, back to the pear half floating in jello. Works better for me.
The various lethal and experimental drugs make a little more sense now. But the story on Vic drugging Reina does not totally jive with what we have seen in flashbacks.
I agree that the suggestion of Reina marrying Victor because he erased her memories doesn't jive with the initial episode of the novela, where Reina seems to be in full possession of her faculties, or with Asunción's response when Reina asked her if she was ever ill or was acting strangely before the wedding. We can hope that there is some explanation, logical or otherwise, for this anomaly.

"A Dragon doesn’t really need a license to fly an airplane; it comes naturally."
"A Dragon can act just like his mother, when placed in a supervisory position."
I absolutely love learning all the things they've cut out of our favorite addiction, but sometimes I feel like I'm keeping my mouth shut about a fabulous Christmas present when I can't comment about a jaw-dropping moment on the episode that Tijeramundo deigned to show us!
My faves:

Novelera,
sometimes I feel like I'm keeping my mouth shut about a fabulous Christmas present when I can't comment about a jaw-dropping moment on the episode that Tijeramundo deigned to show us!
Yes, I know what you mean. It's not the ideal situation. :- (
Anita - Thank you for the updated Wisdom of the Dragon. I get the biggest chuckle out of your subtitles, like this week's "Subtitled: I Must Not Reveal Who is Making This Up"
thanks so much for another wonderful recap Jean! I don't say much anymore because I can't watch the Mexican shows, but I do read all of the posts here.
and what an amazing novela this is, this small group of people finally got it right, this novela is PERFECT, and there is not one actor here who is not selling us on the story.
like Asesino Alicia, (cobra), hanging around the house has left her starving for something to kill, I'm afraid to talk to anyone on craig's list.
Doris- omg was Estefi by with some sewing lessons, maybe she can help with my turkey.
Anita- whew, at least the wisdom wasn't subtitled, "I can't remember".
And no. I don't think it will shut up Connie. Even without memories, she'll find something to go on and on about. Nature always finds a way.
Kelly

Victor: She wouldn't shut up.
However, my fellow Romaniacs, I have been indulging in a dangerous pastime. It's called thinking. My latest thought is that maybe the hints that have been leading to Pedro Ortiz as the mastermind behind everything are really red herrings.
This writer is clearly a big Agatha Christie fan. Agatha Christie always throws a lot of red herrings and unexpected outcomes into her mysteries. It just seems to me that Pedro Ortiz is too obvious a culprit for a writer who is a Christy fan. Agatha would never have let us guess the villain that easily.
Maybe it's someone we've already seen "killed". Maybe it's somebody totally unexpected like Christian Palacios. Maybe it's the guy who killed Steffy's family. Or, most likely, maybe it's just me looking for hidden clues because I read too many mystery novels.
Oh well, all will soon be revealed. Although I will actually be really sad about that, because that will be the end of this delicious novela that has spoiled me for ordinary fare. Talk about bittersweet!
Penny
Can someone do tonight's recap? I am having internet problems and this is my only window to watch the show and recap as I'm going to be out later. It's so bad I can't even post from my laptop- I am posting this from my phone! So frustrating!
