Mi corazon es tuyo #108 12/18/14 Monster in red

We open with Fernando dreaming of Ana. In his dream he’s taking off his tie, he’s tired after a hard day of work. Ana comes in, wearing a pair of glasses and briefly covers his eyes with a scarf. He’s surprised that she waited for him, since it’s so late now – they are acting like any normal married couple would - this guy sure dreams PG- rated. Because it is so late, Ana says that he can only choose one card from the little chest of naughtiness. I take back the PG-rated stuff, this is actually rather kinky and a good idea for ….ahem… moving on.
Anyway, Ana thinks that he should only pick one card, because it’s late, but he wants to pick several. He ends up with the cards for Massage, Besos tronados, Jacuzzi and another one that I didn’t get. Fer doesn’t want to settle for only one, but not to worry, Ana has one ace up her sleeve cleavage – a card that says that all the others will be accomplished. They go to the bed and start smooching.
Time for Fer to wake up, kissing his pillow in the Houston hotel and murmuring Ana’s name.

El Oro
Soledad is at church with the singing kids when Angel comes to tell her that he found her daughter.
They go outside and Soledad asks a lot of questions, wanting to make sure that it is indeed her daughter. Yes, it is, Angel assures, the girl knows all the details about the past. Only difference – now she’s called Blanca, the monjitas changed her name. Soleded is ecstatic, she’s laughing and crying and shaking at the same time. Angel will take her to meet her daughter today and Sol has to wear red for the meet.

The Mansion
Ana is dreaming about Fer, too. Fanny comes to wake her up. After laughing at Ana for dreaming about dad, Ana tells her about their talk the night before. Fer was upset about Luz, but they ended up having a great chat. Ana is now more sure than ever that she can’t tell him the truth about her other job, because they are getting so close. Her eyes wander to the guitar – she’s been thinking about her mom a lot lately, maybe it is because with all the investigating that has been going on, she will meet her at last.

Yes, her mother is meeting who she thinks is the daughter she left with the monjitas.
Angel and Soledad are in the park, waiting for “Blanca”, when Angel gets a call – he has an emergency at the hospital and needs to leave. As soon as he’s gone, “Blanca” (Isabastard) arrives, wearing the exact same shade of red as Soledad. Funny enough, I see red differently, but I don’t know how to describe this color. Help!
“Blanca” asks ‘Mama?’ and Soledad starts crying, noticing the pregnancy, too. As Yolanda is watching from behind a tree, Isa starts to spread her web of lies. She knows all the details about Ana’s past, so she knows just what buttons to push with Soledad. She accuses her of abandonment, while Soledad tries to explain how she was going to jail and she had no other option than to leave her at the orphanage.

Back at the house, the twins and Sebastian are preparing another prank against Sarai. They pour wormy maggots in her sink, making her scream with fear. Ana scolds them for their bad deed, telling them that if Salami (LOL) is like this, it has to be because there is something wrong with her, she is suffering for some reason. They are not allowed to mess with the girl anymore!
When she sees her crying in the room, Ana tries to comfort her, but Sarai runs.
Later, with Luz and Fanny, she does laugh about the boys’ prank, but insists that there has to be something wrong with the girl. Fanny thinks that Sarai should behave better, because she is a guest in their house.
After Fanny leaves, Ana and Luz call Fernando.
He is with Natalia, waiting for news on Diego’s operation. After a brief chat with Luz (she’s still coughing, but she’s OK), the girl leaves and Fer and Ana have some more of the grown-up silly flirting that they started. Ana says that she’s doing fine, but she’s thinking about her mom more than ever.

Soledad is now at Isabeast’s house. She is happy that her daughter has such a good life. Yolanda comes home, too, and Isa introduces her as Carmela, her “adoptive” mother. Soledad thanks “Carmela” for having raised her daughter.
Isa is blowing hot and cold on the story of “her” abandonment, fake crying and being her usual detestable self. She noticed the red nail polish, which “she remembers so well”. She also remembers the song, and she actually starts singing it, with Soledad and partially Yolanda, singing along. Watching this mockery is maddening, even Yola has the decency to feel bad about it, while it’s obvious that Isa is rejoicing the situation.
In the kitchen, Nando is asking Ana if there is something about him that attracts unstable girls. Ana says that definitely not, but I kind of think that’s true (hehehe). Nando tells Ana how he and Edith kissed, but then he left. He wants to know if there is something that Edith is not telling him. Fanny, who is also there, admits that something is going on with her, but she can’t talk about it, Nando needs to ask Edith.

Back with “Blanca”, “Carmela” and poor Soledad – they talk about the guitar now, Soledad left it with her daughter because it was the only thing that she had left and she wanted little Ana to have something to remember her. Where is the guitar now? While remembering how she destroyed it a few episodes back, Isa says that the monjitas probably kept it. We also find out that Ana was two when her mother went to prison.
Angel calls to find out how everything is going and Soledad says that she is getting to know her daughter. Angel invites her to stay with him for the night because he believes that she won’t want to go back home just yet. Soledad agrees.
A while later Angel calls Ana, to ask about Luz and he tells Ana what medicine to buy for the coughing.
Just then Fer calls, too, so Ana has to hang up. Diego is fine, but the connection is bad, Fer can’t stay long on the phone. He sends his kids some besos tronados and one for her, too. She acts all professional about it, because Alicia is around, but he promises to think about her all day.
After she hangs up, Alicia says that Pablo asks her to go to the movies together (his mom will be driving them). Ana says that only Fer can give her permission, but Alicia is afraid that he will say no. So Ana decides that maybe they could all go the movies. Fanny could babysit Luz because Leon is coming with his son later, anyway, Nando is old enough to be on his own and Sarai is upset, so she’ll probably say no. So they can take the twins and Seb.

Isanasty invites Soledad to stay for lunch, but Soledad feels tired, she prefers to leave. Isa reminds her again how she abandoned her (in case someone in the room had forgotten about it) and Soledad explains that prison was not a good place to raise a baby. She wonders if her daughter will ever forgive her. They decide to see one another again the next day and Soledad extends her arm as a goodbye. Isa has no intent of being polite, but Yolanda has a little bit of decency, shaking Soledad’s hand.
After the poor woman is gone, Isa burst out laughing. It’s a crazy, hysterical, demonic laugh, that makes her mother shake her head in disbelief. Yolanda should starts doing something against her daughter’s atrocities, she is just as guilty as her for being an accomplice.

In Houston, the doctor says that the operation was a success, but in cases like this therapy is the key. And because they can afford it, he recommends the best clinic in the world, which is in Switzerland. Fer looks pensive, does he think that he will have to go with Diego, too?
After the doctor and Natalia are gone, Diego asks Fer to have a talk.

Soledad is at Angel’s home now. Angel wants to know how everything went, but Soledad needs some air, she’s going for a walk. All that she says is that she had a different memory of her daughter. Angel thinks that this is normal, since she was just a baby then – people change.

Ana and the kids are on the street, going to the cinema. They left the car further away because of traffic or something. Of course that Soledad is on the same street, and mother and daughter are about to lock eyes for the first time in 30 years when the episode ends.

Adriana Noel, great recap! Thanks!

So, Diego is off to Switzerland for rehab. Great way to get rid if the character without killing him.

Adriana, I am waiting for Yolanda to turn on Isabela. Yolanda looked disturbed several times during Isabela's act with Soledad. Isabela was creepy. In the avances it looks like Fernando is going to discover something is up.

Ana was good trying to get the other kids leave Saraí alone after the worm prank. She is so obsessed with germs because that is all she has control of in her life. Certainly she cannot control her parents nor where they sent her: to the Lascuráin's house. I hope they all can help the poor kid.

Jarifa

thanks for the great recap with no silly stuff added, Adriana!
when Diego sent Natalia away, he asked her to check if whatever it is they are waiting for (to give to Fer?) had arrived. so maybe we will find out what it is tomorrow. I hope Diego sends Fernando back home. I don't want extended separations right now, esp with the Nth kid with issues, Sarai, staying at the Lasc house.

that was so sweet right at the beginning of the ep (also was at end of previous) Fernando tells Ana on phone 'i miss you.... i miss you, MY Ana!'... and her reaction leaning at the wall was cute.

Thank you, Adriana Noel, for the excellent recap!

Well, at least Nando picked up on his pattern of attraction to girls with mas problemas.

Ana's pole-dancing secret is ridiculous. Tell Fer, and get over it. She made a stupid decision to pursue a pole-dancing career at a young age, which she now regrets. She knows it's not a reputable job. In the beginning of this show, she apologized to the original woman she thought was her mother about the stupid choice. (Although I find it interesting, if Lenin and Angel were raised also in orphanages, they chose to further their educations. It's also interesting Fanny's 15-year-old pregnant mentee wants to become a doctor. In my opinion, Ana's choice does not speak highly of her.)

What? Does Ana smear herself with pheromones each morning? Why do men fall madly in love with her at first sight? OK. She's pretty, but so are many other women on this show. It's a bit over-the-top.

Except for Siete and Luz, I cannot really like any of the characters on this tn. I apologize for being a downer, but I keep chiding myself for watching this drivel. At least I enjoy the recaps and funny comments! Oh, and I'm picking up a bit of Spanish, too!

Adriana, Thank you for the recap and little comments here and there that are right-on.

Isanasty is right. This was another move by her that is pretty much beyond evil. I sense from the preview that this is going to get resolved quickly. I hope so.

I am warming to Sarai, poor baby. Soledad is exactly the kind of mother I want Ana to have. She is sweet, sane, seemingly wise.

Ecuador - No apologies from my perspective for being a downer. I have pretty much enjoyed this novela, but there have been others that made me wonder what had happened to my mind. But as you say you do learn a lot of Spanish and watching these things through Caray is great fun.

Marta - Thank you for your recaps this week and I think I see what you mean about things heating up. I am hoping that the reunion of Ana and her mother is right around the corner.

This is great AN and appreciate it.

EB, I agree Ana knows the stigma, she is 35 years old and instead of wanting to come clean with Fernando she wants to hide it even more the closer they get? She isn't even bothered lying to him a bit. Either there is a major character flaw or she enjoys making a fool out of Fernando. Not real impressed with her right now.

Mayrin continues to delight me. I love the evil laugh and tantrums. Isabela is a mean bitch though.

Great work, Adriana.

It would be great if Yolanda outed Isanasty's impersonation of Ana, but there are too many episodes left for that to happen now.

Did anyone notice the other night when the kids were rapping the send-off for their uncle that Sarai looked like she was going to cry? That girl has no clue what a loving family is like and this might have been her first look at one.

One thing that is bugging me at the moment is that Angel didn't see "Blanca" so he isn't in a position to describe her when he finally communicates with Fernando. However, when Fernando hears the name "Blanca" he will know that something is wrong.

As to the missing e-mail shouldn't he be able to call the cell phone provider and have them track it down? If he were a character on Law & Order that would be the first thing he'd be told to do.

Tofie, no way does Ana enjoy making a fool of Fernando. She isn't that kind of person.

She is insecure about his reaction for the stigma of working at Chicago. She may have gotten into it because of limited options for girls at the time she was in the orphanage and may have carried this fear for 15 years. His whole obsession with chaperoning Alicia is only making that fear worse.

She missed two perfect opportunities to tell him:

-- In the beginning, after Luz began talking again and he saw her as a miracle worker

-- When Doroteo showed up at the front door and threatened her. She should have called his bluff then.

This feels like the writers are preparing us for a big blow-up.

Oh I just am keeping my fingers crossed that the wrtiers will surprise us with the 'great reveal ' and Don Fernando might just laugh at the whole thing, be perfectly understanding, and turn the tables on Doronono.

wishful thinking, Victoria... but i am bracing for Fernando losing his nuts and bolts until he hears enough of the folks around him yelling at him to get a grip and think of the real important stuff.

anyways, everyone, DONT MISS TONIGHTS EP... it is MUST SEE TV per the little i read of mex summaries weeks ago...

UA, though it not her intent, it is exactly what she is doing, making Fernando out to be a fool. She doesn't even flinch now when she lies to him, before at least she would feel bad. Now she just justifies it and quickly changes the subject if anyone says anything.

tofie, UA, funny as it may seem i agree with both of you...
sort of like the comparison of self-absorbed vs self-centered...
she is holding the truth from him without realizing how she is making him look like a fool and he will be especially hurt by that.

Marta, you got my point across better than I did.

I love Ana, don't give two flips what she had to do or has done to eat to this point, but am stumped this gradual metamorphosis of hers has not trickled down to her night job but actually made her hold on more tightly to the woman that was.

Urban , ITA that Fer should have known the truth for a while now and Ana had plenty of good opportunities to tell him.
Ecuador, don't feel bad for how you feel. I'm not especially enjoying the show either. I'm sticking with it for the recaps.
Gotta run, I'm in the middle of my work shift. Later!

AdrianaNoel, thanks for the great recap! It was rock-solid and covered all the action. And there was some interesting stuff going on in this episode. Painful to watch Soledad meeting her so-called daughter. How long before Isa's evilness gets to be too much even for Yolanda? Maybe Yolanda will be the one to spill some of Isa's secrets, I hope so.

By the way a couple of nights ago it looked like Soledad was working in Doc Angel's office; she was wearing a white uniform. Is she the doc's office assistant? Am I crazy? Then she is back in a different town directing the choir.

J in Oregon

Ana is trying so hard not to lose Fernando and the kids that this is exactly what her actions, or lack of action, is leading her to... (Fernando being hurt with the lack of trust and consideration that she is showing (or that he interprets from her) holding this info from him.

Just read the title and had to say what a perfect word to describe Isa. When she started laughing after Soledad left, my jaw literally dropped.

I think Yolanda is gradually seeing the light and will be switching her allegiance.

I too am a tad confused about logistics. First Angel is in Oro at a church listening to the choir with Soledad. Then he's the doc in DF but hops back and forth to Oro? So now Soledad is in DF and Angel's apartment is there?

Yolanda is still at heart a mean-spirited person and no matter what she does from here on in changes that.

my guess is Oro is not far from MC but far enough that Angel would not let Soledad go back in bus in the evening. probably both for her safety and her health seems a bit flimsy.

anon 12:31, I agree with you that Yolanda is just trash and her being aghast at this latest is disingenuous. She helped Isabela when she was on the phone with Angel and gave her the right orphanage name. Kick her to the curb with Ricky and Isabela. I think Yolanda is more worried about Isabela getting caught again than anything.

Thanks, Adriana! Your recap is superb.

I had a hard time watching this. It was making me angry to see Isa being so cruel and not even to gain anything, just to be mean for the fun of it. She and her mother both need a huge anvil.

Also didn't like the kids playing tricks on Saraí. I know, it's just how they are, and I'm glad Ana told them to quit it, but then I didn't like that Ana was giggling about it when she was telling the story to Luz. Fanny should be a little more sensitive, too. Saraí is insufferable, but more mature people like Ana and Fanny should have figured out sooner that a little girl sent away from her parents to stay with other people probably has some trauma and could use a little empathy and help dealing with her issues.

Also, why is her bed shoved in front of that dresser so the bottom drawers can't be opened, and off in the corner? If Diego is going to be gone for months, can't Saraí have the guest room that Diego was using? Or Nico's room, since he and Jen should be back in their own house?

Nando. Sigh. Even if Edith weren't traumatized, two seconds of kissing and then he's trying to take off her clothes and get her to the bed? Slow your roll, buddy.

Actually, Alicia should have her own room by now and Sarai should be in Luz' room (unless she is small for her age and therefore younger than she looks/presents herself).

She is insufferable, but I suspect she is only beginning to understand that she doesn't have friends because her mother doesn't have friends (anymore). Estefania the Elder may have been the only person who could tolerate her and now she's gone. That might make Sarai's mother even more intolerable than she was and by extension her Mini-Me.

I looked at some maps and El Oro is actually some distance from Mexico City. I'd guess it would take a couple hours to travel. Definitely more than one hour, and that would be if there were no traffic and you weren't going by bus. It's west-northwest of the D.F., on the far border of el Estado de México.

Have we ever been told just where the Lascurains are supposed to live, aside from "Estado de México"? I haven't seen a place identified more specifically. We know Ana is from Ecatapec, which is just northeast of the D.F. If they are still in that same general area, it would be far enough from El Oro that I wouldn't think Soledad would want to head back if it were already late. Don't understand why/how Ángel would bounce back and forth between those places, though.

Adriana--great recap, there was a lot going on in this episode and you really helped me.

-Don't most sites online shut you out after about three incorrect log in attempts? Isabruja must have tried at least 20 times with the wrong password.

-Ana seems to love all kids, but somehow acts less compassionate toward Salai. Why?

Because Sarai is insufferable and feels she has the right to boss adults around. Behavior like that would never have been tolerated in an orphanage run by nuns.

While plodding through my day, I also had to scratch my head at Fernando's response, or lack thereof, to the attempt on Nico's life. Obviously, it wasn't an almost accidental injection - Fer saw the video with the police. Therefore, a potential murderer, one who hates Nico or Fer, remains free. Shouldn't Fer have hired security for his home and provided body guards for his children? Every pizza-delivery guy or Fed-Ex guy could be a potential assassin. Doesn't that alarm Fer or the police?!? I guess it's another beanie moment . . .

Sarai is no more a pain in the butt than the Lascurain kids at the beginning of this tn. The kids all have ample experience bullying nannies whom they dislike, and now they're bullying Sarai, who also happens to be a pain in the butt.

When the police paid Fernando a visit with the security camera footage, they said they would check the other security cameras in adjacent areas of the hospital. They don't appear to have gotten back to Fernando about this. What we have here is a major fail on the part of the writers.

Adriana: thanks for the recap. I misread "Isanasty" as "Insanity". Both fit.

When Isa was laughing, I hoped she was going to lose the baby. That would take away her leverage with Fer and Reeky. However, the fact that it's not Fer's baby makes it pretty certain she'll carry to term to play out that storyline.

I feel sorry for the actress playing Natalia if this trip to Switzerland is PM's exit because of his problems. If it wasn't in the original plans, Nat would probably be around for the long haul.

UA: I did notice and comment on how Sarai was watching the dancing and that she had a look of longing on her face. I feel really sorry for her.

I notice that TNs seem to play fast and loose with geography.

Tofie: you have a point about Yola. I'd like to think her concern is because she's beginning to get it that what she and Isa are doing is so wrong, but it's probably as you say and because she's afraid of them getting caught.

Nanette

Too many episodes left for Isanasty to lose the baby. What will be interesting is if there is a medical emergency when he's born and the blood type doesn't jive with Fernando's.

I hope that after Ana does find her mother, Fer and all the Lascurains and Soledad throw her the hugest birthday party that ever partied, to make up for the fact that she has never even known before what day is her real birthday. And I still wonder if she will find out anything about her father, also. She has never seemed to wonder about him, but he must have existed in some fashion at one point.

Julia: I'm wondering if Ana's father was the person Soledad killed to protect her.

The avances show Fernando calling Angel, so I'm hoping that Isabela doesn't get away with this for too long.
