TELEMUNDO Y MENOS: Señora Acero, Los Miserables, Tierra de Reyes, etc - Week of Dec. 15, 2014
Labels: acero, miserables, telemundo, tierra
Tierras isn't doing much for me though, I keep comparing it to FELS & it isn't much better so far.
This is a crucial time for Los Mis but it's also the holiday season so some viewers will miss it.
Tierras isn't doing much for me though, I keep comparing it to FELS & it isn't much better so far.
No glowing flower in a cave, though, right?
I only saw teeny bits of FELS but I have seen Pasión de Gavilanes several times. It's one of my faves.
Tierra is watchable and fun to compare to PdG while I knit. I like the woman who plays Sofia. None of the guys make my heart go pitty pat, though.
But I do want to know which one Samuel ends up with. Poor third brother. Samuel gets ALL the women, young and older (except Sofia of course). No one is left for Third.
Kelly
i am watching, too, Varopinta. "Mucho mejor que [U.S. network TV] mierda," too.
I watch Tierra only lightly, but I am hooked on Los Mis - even as frustrating as it gets. It is, yes, at a crucial point, Anonymous.
Tierra
I with you on no "pitty pat," Jean. And with you all that Ana Lorena Sánchez - the Sofia actress - is the best part of the show.
LOL Kelly: "Make your bad decisions like a grownup." YES!
Los Mis
I still wonder, does anyone know, what happened to the flash memory?
And, with serious aggravation: Did Lucha NOT SEE Liliana at the beach house the Cesar murder day? And why would she (and Luria, I wonder) NOT tell what she knows now? The writers get frustrating to me sometimes.
Agnes, if you get a chance to read: I did not read all you wrote last week, until later. I am sorry you have faced tragedies. I hope you are okay.
I wish sweet holidays, all!

I'm actually enjoying it and I'm getting a little pitty pat. LOL. I've only seen a hacked up version of FELS and I find Tierra to be MUCH better. I seem to remember that the girls in FELS were controlled by their mother and didn't do too well in the decision making department, either.
I will go with Variopinta's assessment--it's still better than what Televisa has to offer.
Senora Acero
I haven't seen any of this week's episodes yet, but I'm still watching.

I CAN'T WAIT!
wow, talk about abuse, I see no reason why Lucia should ever forgive Daniel, Carlos sure walked into this with his eyes closed, and interesting that Nuria is listening in on all of the jail conversations
Aficionada- on the flash memory, the best I can recall Roque put it back into the stuffed bear for his meet with Lily, threw it off the roof, recovered by Memin, and returned to Roxana, of course there is the other copy in that laptop.
and If I remember the beach scene, Lily shot César, then went out the front to the car while Genaro searched for the flash memory, as Lucia, heard the shot and returned through the back door, saw César killed by the second gun, and of course the fisherman's eyes are so bad he can't tell sisters apart, kind of a flaky story but it looks like Genaro/Lily are going to plant the second gun that actually killed him at Lucia's place, hmm, Diablo (who is planning an escape) looks upset, I wonder if they will become friends, she has no place to turn with Daniel calling all of the shots.
I'm thinking there will be some major time jumps,
if we are ever going to see that house built.
(anyone try the sound version of "I'm not a robot" or is it "I'm not an alien")
"wow, talk about abuse, I see no reason why Lucia should ever forgive Daniel" - I agree! Sometimes I am grinding my teeth at how vicious and faithless Daniel is.
Interesting thought, and likely: "I wonder if they [Lucha and Diablo] will become friends, she has no place to turn with Daniel calling all of the shots." So sad, but true.

It's well acted, but I can already tell I'm going to hate it. I'm finding the recent narco-novelas becoming as formulaic and predictable as the hoariest rosa novelas. Another shootout at an outdoor party. Another prostitute mother boo-hoo story for the heroine. Another sickly family member, gee, wonder how the guy will get the money to pay for the expensive treatments in a narco-novela. Another "shocking" predictable secret for an attractive young woman which will turn out she was either a prostitute or porn actress. Preview ends with heroine threatened with sexual assault - the female protagonists in these stories always have to be raped so their future violent acts can be justified. (And really crappy contrived writing to put her in harm's way in that final scene.)
TIERRA-
I find it okay, but except for Sonya Smith, who is excellent, the whole project strikes me as ersatz to the previous versions. Biggest misfire was trying to do a western-style hacienda novela in freakin Miami (it's like EL TALISMAN all over again, though not as goofily entertaining). Even the worst novelas of this type at least have pretty scenery and horses to look at; Tierra de Reyes looks like it was shot in somebody's backyard.
I haven't see a lot of narco-novelas, so I guess it doesn't feel repetitive yet. I love Jorge Zabaleta and I like what I see of him so far.
I keep making comparisons to the 2nd worst novela, FELS. I don't think Sofia (same name) in FELS was married to the creep that raped her. I am also having a problem with the 3 girls, one blond, 2 brunettes.
No way can Sonia Smith carry off evil like Diana Bracho (one of my favorite actors) or the creep can't compare to Guillermo Garcia Cantu (the very best at being evil, love him) they were the only saving grace of FELS.
However, I'm hanging in for awhile, even though none of the actors grab me, except Christian de la Campa, who was a bad/good guy in Santa Diabla. I just want to see how he has progressed, but not as interesting a character as in SD.
I like Aaron Diaz and have watched bits of the show. I loved FELS, lots of fun -- the plot meandered in parts cause it lasted sooo long, but the cast (yes, older) and chemistry were stellar.
I too can't figure out why the woman who hates having sex with her husband won't just leave him. Unlike the character in FELS, she doesn't seem to have been abused by her mother since childhood and made to feel shamed and obligated.
Senora Acero
No idea what's going on, but I like that the female lead is calling the shots in her life. But perhaps that will get her and loved ones killed.
Nail shops are getting a bad rep on TNs for money laundering. On La Malquerida over on Univision, there’s a prostitute planning to open a nail shop and launder money for her pimp.
I also agree with Deb. Daniel is more of an antagonist as he is certainly antagonizing Lucia and everyone close to him. He is a horrible cop/investigator who should not be allowed to manage the case for obvious reasons. I'm sure she'll forgive him in the end though.
I had already decided Daniel is inept, jumps to conclusions, doesn't weigh the facts, well just plain doesn't belong in the job. I'm sure he will get it right in the end, TN rules you know.
I'm watching!!! I'm a couple days behind, but I am watching every episode. I really like it!
I am a little confused by Don Teca and Indio Amaro. It seems to me they've been pulling strings since the beginning.
And Monday Tanquete(?) was driving Sara around, but I thought he worked for Quintanilla? Or am I mixing up my bodyguards? Maybe he was with Indio.
Variopinta--
You said, " I don't think Sofia (same name) in FELS was married to the creep that raped her."
Actually she was for about half or more of the tn. He wouldn't give her a divorce. But, in that backwater they didn't have Divorce Express. Remember they didn't even have telephones, although they did drive around in SUV's. When she finally got her divorce, he married her mother, all for money and control of the hacienda.
Sorry to butt in. I'm not watching, but I had a little time on my hands and decided to check to see how Tierra was coming across.
Agree with Vivi on Quiero Amarte. Top quality acting and story. Too bad Uni decided to plug it into the middle of the afternoon. Thank goodness for DVR.
Tks for the reminder Anita, I probably have been trying to block FELS from my mind.
I am sick of Arturo in that stupid hat, does he sleep in it?
I don't think anyone knows what to do with AD's hair so they've gone with the hat. I can handle the hat better than charro suits.
Arturo left his hat at the house once and it was like he didn't even know it was gone till Sofia brought it to him.
so Leonardo moves out (was his suitcase full of silverware), has sex with Isadora, and moves back in, at Cayetana's request, (his role here is so much like in "Dama y Obrero" except there he overdid it just enough that it was funny to watch his frustration, of course how serious can things get with Ana Layevska around who was wearing her wedding ring on her middle finger)
so what's with the rodeo thing and this guy Pablo that everyone ignores?
so Daniel's search ended when he found the gun, ignoring the stuffed bear w/ flash drive, hmm, I'm sure deep down he is counting on Lucia forgiving EVEN him, but is there anyone else who will, did Memin say if you mess with Lucia, you mess with me, I would take that threat seriously Daniel.
isn't Abel the moth flittering around the flame looking for a good place to jump in.
Lily and Genaro need to drive off a cliff, with mom and Radamés in the trunk.
and Diablo has a phone app that blows up the prison mess hall.
was Pepito wondering why he left his father to be with these nuts, and who was that little kid that Joaquin decked.
nd who has a tunnel under the border that they leave unguarded and then tell Sara about it so everyone will know, el Teca, will the population of San Diego double in one day?
grab a wad of money for me Cornelia.
good work Aracely getting the goods on Felipe, maybe needs a little work on the getaway.
and Onion man corners Salvador in the boys room.
AD's hair has always bothered me. It looked best in Los Mis, it was flattened a little, mucho mejor. I think he smiled a little last night.
The relationships between male/female are as ridiculous as FELS. They were always climbing up balconies in FELS, here they just stroll through the house, and it's almost ok.
Believe it or not, I had never seen FELS in the original showing. I started watching it over this spring and summer when it was rebroadcast.
I followed along with the CarayCaray recaps and comments. I never laughed so hard in my life. They are hilarious.
Vickey and Andriana ar both pregnant. How long before the fathers (and Abel) learn the truth. It's clear that Abel and Andrianna really do love each other. Shame they cant be honest with each other.
Liliana couldnt have appeared more guilty than during her conversation with Daniel. And of course he ignored Nuria passing words to Lily...another clue he'll remember later.
What do the writers have planned for Diablo's twin brother? Perhaps he's more saint than sinner.

LOL Variopinta (spelled you right this time, sorry for last time) about Daniel: "I'm sure he will get it right in the end, TN rules you know." I almost wish he wouldn't, and Lucha move on once the truth comes to Daniel. Almost. I know I will be with all those hoping for a happy final for them.
And thanks deb and Spanish student, too, for more comments on Los Mis. Watching online is being a problem for me, so every information makes a big difference.
I much agree, deb: "Lily and Genaro need to drive off a cliff, with mom and Radamés in the trunk."
Aficionada
Aficionada, i agree with you and Deb. i wouldn't forgive Daniel either but I'm guessing that when he finally comes to his senses he'll do something to win her over, perhaps saving Roxana from Lily or something else. I do find it interesting that the female cop and Milagros, once against her, now believe she's innocent. Daniel is alone against her with no one else but Wicked Lily.
Also Fernanda doesnt appear to be on Lily's side anymore although i doubt if she'll reveal her suspicions to anyone that matters.
And i'm also wondering whats to become of Deborrah after the father/ daughter brawl (Radames recieving a little bit of justice). I think Octavio and Nachito are still in the house. If arrested Deborrah could end up in the same jail cell as Lucha. And poor Octavio, i hope he can handle the drama as he was suicidal in the past and there are only bad seeds left in his family and he no longer has Vicky's support.
Spanish student
Spanish student, thank you. You just gave me reason to see it differently. Yes! Maybe "he'll do something to win her over, perhaps saving Roxana from Lily or something else." Uh-huh, I could forgive him then, I think. I have been very pleased to see "the female cop and Milagros, once against her, now believe she's innocent." And I keep hoping that Fernanda has that moment of suffering knowing she has been so wrong and unkind about Lucha!
I still have to watch to see what happened about Deborrah. But I am with you hoping that Octavio gets strong enough to keep alive - and see clear of his rage going in all directions.
Have a good weekend, all!

I watched the weekly synopsis, it's just the highlights. Daniel almost shook Lucia's boobs right out of her dress!
I am REEEEEEE-ally missing 'Reina de Corazones', and the wonderful team that we had there right now. :-(
Telemundo has listed the actors for Duenos del Paraiso.
FOR REINA FANS: Our favorite Reina de Corazones Spanish doctor, who was NOT corrupt and became enamored of Esmeeth (that would be Alberto Mateo) - will play Sergio di Franco, a movie director in DdP. He has a short interview describing his character.
I just got caught up. I think that kid Joaco decked was the kid that was so supposed to be guarding Pepito.
Am I the only one who is suspicious of Manuel?
Is Cornelia working alone? Will Sara be accused of stealing that money?
I know we are talking about capos, but El Teca is a sick SOB. I want Sara back with Quintanilla.
I must be a sicko too because I am fine with Arnulfo and Tuercas eating lead. Good riddance.
Sara, I agree with just about everything you've said. I can't remember who Joaco hit but I guess he'll live 2 see another day now that Arnulfo and Tuercas have eaten the lead. Next in line should be Felipe, Indio and El Teca. Yes, Quintanilla was a true godfather who didn't have other motives so he's much better for her than the obsessive Teca.
I hope Manuel catches Cornelia in the act as she has stashed quite a bit of cash. But I dont trust him either. Didn't Indio mention he had someone on the inside?
My question is just how much sick crap will Josefina take b4 she wakes up?
Los Mis
Aficionada, it was just a thought since I also can't imagine forgiving him. So far everything he says and does makes him unlikeable and unworthy. So it'll take something major for him to redeem himself.
Spanish student
Spanish student, well said: "since I also can't imagine forgiving him. So far everything he says and does makes him unlikeable and unworthy. So it'll take something major for him to redeem himself."
Yes! I tell you, I had got to almost wishing on Daniel that he would end up the way Javert, the policeman in Les Misérables, does: Suicide out of shame for tormenting an innocent person because of his misbegotten belief that no one ever convicted can redeem the self. So, seeing through your thoughts, it was a help to me to think there is a level of action that could redeem Daniel. Saving Roxanita's life is definitely one of the ways.
See you on the new page!
