Hasta el Fin del Mundo….or Hasta la Vista, Amiga! #114 Tue 1/27/15

You’ll cry tears of blood, etc. etc  Pato leaves in a huff.

Ostras!  Sofia tells Alexa Pato is fired! She’s overjoyed – que te lo digo yo! (hic)  Alexa fesses up she was working with Chava to kidnap  her at her wedding.  Sofia apologizes to Alexa for putting her in charge of the empressa.  There was so much going on in her life and she was overwhelmed.  Thanks to Chava and being there at the factory, she’s realized this is where she belongs.  She’s ready to resume her post as the head of Ripoll.  Alexa’s really, really, but really happy.

Primazo tells Renzi he’s been sacked.  Well, now that’s he’s sacked – and he didn’t marry the princess, what good is he now to Peralta.  Um, by the way he called this morning.  Pato is sure the tide will turn by the end of this day.  Renzi hopes so.  Luckily for him, Peralta is abroad but if he hears about this before Pato’s been able to fix things – Pato’s a dead man.

Now Dani gets to hear the good news of Pato’s sacking.  Hugs all around.  Chava and Sofia smooch and she thanks him for the wonderful day and teaching her to drive.  Chava finally leaves the three sisters to talk.  That’s when Sofia tells them Sylvana is out also.

Chava runs into Armando in the hallway and tells him the news about sacking Pato.  Matias joins the fun and Chava fills him in too.  Matias is sure the entire staff will be in party mode once they hear the news.  This has been Chava’s best day.  He tells Armie about Sofia’s driving lesson and how well he did.  Now that Sofia has come back to where she belongs, he too has to find a way back to his calling – racing.  He’s thinking of ways to repair Patotas.  Armie is ready to back him up in anything.  He shares the news of Benito el Cochinito and how Alexa gave him to Nandito.  How can he not love that woman when she is so kind to her son.  But he’s sad about his situation.  Chava encourages him to hang in there.  blah, blah, blah.

Back in Sofia’s office, Alexa for one is happy to hear Sylvana’s resigning.  This way they get rid of both at one time – que te do digo yo (#2).  Dani can’t help but feel sorry for Sylvana.  She loved Pato and couldn’t help it.  They finally get down to business.  Dani reports the shipment to South America is ready and waiting for shipment at the airport.  Alexa somberly tells Sofia she has something to tell her.  Dani knows when she’s not needed and leaves.  Alexa confesses she’s been out of the office taking care of personal business.  She warned Sofia she wasn’t cut out for this business. She’s really embarrassed to tell her about the lipstick commercial.  Sofia’s shocked and reminds Alexa her responsibility is Ripoll.  Alexa feels nothing happened while she was gone except for an insignificant false alarm.  Sofia’s not happy about this. She was counting on Alexa to be there.  Alexa is apologetic and that’s why she wanted to tell her everything.  She now tells her about the Movie…

Chava’s home.  Lupita prays about her post menopausal love troubles.  Marisol walks in and Lupita explains about the breakup over the bracelet.  Marisol is happy Daddy gave Lupita a bracelet, but where did he get the money?  She assumes maybe it isn’t as nice as it looks when Lupita says it came from his singing gigs.  Lupita shrugs off the importance of the cost and what’s more important here is that Paco is angry that she accepted it and didn’t tell him about it.  Marisol assumes this means she still loves her Daddy and wants her to go back to him.  Lupita isn’t sure he’s changed.  After all she went through him the first time, she is not ready to jump in so quickly this time.

Sofia and Alexa do a sister happy dance.  Sofia can’t  believe Alexa got a part in a movie!  How did it happen?  Alexa explains she’s left all her troubles behind and is ready to move forward.  Sofia assures her she’s not upset.  Chava has taught her that in order to be happy, one should do what makes one happy.  She encourages Alexa to go for it.

Lupita sits guiltily in her chair when Nandito comes home, accompanied by Aracely.  He’s looking frantically for Benito.  Irma tells Aracely  she doesn’t know where that damn pig is.  She got tired of calling for it.  Aracely seems to know immediately Irma had something to do with it.  And there it is!  Benito is safe and sound and Irma is none too pleased about it.

Matias is at Sofia’s office.  She’s apologizing to him for not believing his story about Pato and Sylvana.  He confesses he was hurt by finding out that Sylvana was in love with Patricio.  Friends?  Friends!  Matias congratulates her for coming back, especially that she is now with a man who adores and respects her and who will never roam.

Chava is still roaming the halls of Ripoll when he gets a call from Comandante Tavarez asking to see him. hmmmmm

Alexa’s office.  She tells Armando her good news that she is leaving Ripoll and is now going to be an actress!  Armie doesn’t look too happy about this.

Sofia announces to her secretary that yes indeed she is coming back and wants to put out a bulletin to the employees advising them of the change.  Secretary asks about Sylvana and Sofia thinks back to their conversation.

While Sofia is thinking, Sylvana is being accosted by Pato who is angrily telling her Chava is no dummy.  He used Sylvana’s words to convince Sofia that she and Pato were in cahoots to separate Chava and Sofia.  Sylvana is desperate.  Now that he’s no longer employed, he must pressure Sofia to seek her out or she’ll end up jobless!  He assures her he’s in a worse mess.  If he doesn’t return to that factory, he’s dead.  Peralta won’t look the other way.

Armie reminds Alexa he was with her when she decided to give up acting.  Alexa says it wasn’t so much she had given up acting as much as letting go of her father’s high expectations.  This is her big chance to show not only herself, but to everyone else that she’s good at it.  She’s gonna give it all she’s got – que te lo digo yo! (#3)  He loves to see her so happy.  What’s not to happy about? she says.  Sofia and Chava together again, Patricio and Sylvana nowhere to be seen, the only thing missing is having him and Nandito by her side.  He reminds her that’s going to take time.  She thinks it will be easier for her to dedicate herself to the work she loves.  He says Nandito is just as excited to be with Benito

Don Manuel, Chava’s boss, tells Chava the client was so happy with his work that he’s going to bring all his cars here.  Speaking of car repairs, Chava wonders if it would be ok to bring Patotas here so he can work on it.  He really wants to get back to racing but Patotas needs a lot of work, a new engine, and a sponsor while we’re at it.  Manuel considers for a split second.  Sure, why not.  You can bring Patotas here and work on it in your spare time and feel free to use any spare parts.  As for the engine, well he can’t promise anything.  Chava’s grateful with what Manuel is able to do for him.

Greta tells Iker her dizzy spells have subsided a bit but she still doesn’t feel well.  He promises her this fruit smoothie will help with her energy as well as cleanse her – yeah cleanse the life right outta her!  The medications haven’t done anything for her, in his opinion.  Greta foolishly drinks up that green potion.  Iker excuses himself to take a call from sis.  It won’t be long now.  Sylvana is in tears about her confrontation with Sofia over Patricio.  She had no choice to take the fall for Patricio.  She even had to offer her resignation to make her repentance believable.  She’s sure she’s lost her job.  Iker panics and wonders what they’re to do now?  “Kill her!”  Iker’s all….what?  “Kill her, I say.  Kill that witch today once and for all!”  bwahaha

Chava’s casa at night to find Mirasol in a somber mood.  Momma’s locked herself in her room.  She tells Chava about the fight with Paco but suggests it get the deets from Mom.  Lupita tells him about the bracelet.  He’s shocked Javier could afford such an expensive gift.  Lupita shares how Paco was furious she accepted it and that this proved she still has feelings for Javier.  Chava wonders the same.  Lupita thinks Javier may be changing but she won’t go back to him until she knows for sure.  She also knows she cares very much for Paco, who’s been so good to him.  (wagers on who/when someone says ‘perro con dos tortas’)  Chava suggests she do some soul searching to determine her true feelings.  He’ll support her whatever the outcome.  Her happiness is what matters.

Armie arrives home to find Benito alive and well in Nandito’s arms.  He gives his son a huge hug.  Ahem, Irma’s here too.  Oh yeah,  have you done your exercises?  She confirms she has.  After all, wouldn’t she be the one most wanting to get out of this miserable chair?  Yeah, well.  Back to the pig.  Whaddya say we take the porker out for a walk?  He even bought him a pig leash.  Irma tries to get in on the convo, asking if “Papuyo” would like her to make something to eat.  No sooner do the menfolk (and pigfolk) leave, than Irma jumps out of her chair—furious.  Unbeknownst to her, Alexa has met Armie and Nandito at the front door!  (honestly, what a hussie!)  Well, Irma has seen them from the window and realizes why Armie was in such a rush to take piggy for a stroll.

Sofia pays Sylvana a visit……Sylvana walked away so quickly Sofia felt there were still many unanswered questions.  Sofia tells her she is profoundly hurt by what Sylvana did.  She was more than a friend, like a sister.  Sylvana is so sorry for her betrayal, for breaking all the bonds between them.  Sofia’s been her only family, the one good thing in her life and she’s destroyed it all!  She hangs her head and sobs.  She regrets going after Patricio and putting aside the deep love she has for Sofia.  She will never forgive herself.

Tavares and Chava go over the evidence again about Renzi’s alibi that he was not in town the day of the accident.  As it turns out, his credit card was used at the Carrera Panamericana.  whoosh-whoosh!

Pato pays Greta a visit and warns her she’d better find a way for Sofia to bring him back to La Empressa.  He didn’t even say please.  Greta can’t believe Sofia fired him!  Oh, it wasn’t just a firing, Pato says.  She threw him out like a dog! That damn Chava brainwashed her (lavó el cerebro – my fave) to leave the way open for him to take over.  Greta can’t understand how Chava was able to convince her daughter.  Pato thinks he took advantage of the confusion, a stupid thing really – don’t bother to ask questions Greta it’s not important to go into details.  Greta wonders how Sofia would have fired him if it was such a stupid thing, as he says.  Patricio tells her that some time ago, he accused him and Sylvana of being lovers.  Greta clutches her chest.  (Won’t be long now, Octavio)

Tavares is certain Renzi was at the races That Fateful Day and this is the hotel he stayed at.  Achis, achis, why that’s the same hotel where all the pilotos stayed.  It’s too much a coincidence that his cousin was also at there on the same day I almost met St. Peter.  The ended up in pieces and it wasn’t possible to confirm one way or another if there was foul play.  What he does know is that the fuel consumption wasn’t normal.  Tavarez thinks that could have happened with a loose hose and Chava counters that it is also possible someone tampered with it to send him to la huesuda (boneyard).  Tavarez sees his point.

Pato explains to Greta Sylvana misinterpreted his actions and ended up falling for him.  Greta understandably wonders why Pato didn’t immediately put a stop to it.  He tried, but she kept harassing him even though he tried to talk to her.  Greta insists he should  have told Sofia so she could have fired her traitorous friend.  Pato didn’t have the right to end such a tight friendship.  Greta admires his noblesse but there is no justifying Sylvana’s behavior.  Pato thought it was all over when Chava walked in just at the moment that Sylvana was harassing him again!   Imagine that.  He tried to warn Sofia that Chava was going to come to her with a story about he and Sylvana being lovers.  As for Chava, Pato is afraid he wants to involve himself with the business and who knows with what dastardly intentions.  Greta is sure Chava is only interested in money, as is everyone else.  But she swears that it will be over her dead body before Chava gets one penny from their business.  Pato says he is so worried.  With Sofia gone and him not there to guide Alexa, he has no idea what could happen.  She sure Chocolate Ripoll will go under.  Well, she’s gonna talk to the Board of Directors herself to make sure he’s back at Ripoll.  They think very highly of him and she’s sure they won’t hesitate to put him back on the job.  He apologizes for his gruffness but it’s just that he’s so upset.  Greta is all understanding and says he can count on her, always.  Sofia will come to realize that this love she pretends to have is crazy.  Chava Cruz will never, NEVER I tell you, will be allowed to be involved with company business.

Chava is still with Tavarez.  What if Renzi was also at that other accident he had? If so, this would be another piece of the puzzle that he’s not liking one bit.  He suggests Tavarez bring out the video showing the suspects sabotaging Patotas.  What if they were to show that video to the victims of the assault wave in the community?  And what if they were able to ID the suspects?  The faces may not be visible but the victims may be able to identify another trait like their walk or some other detail.  He’s sure this will tie Renzi to everything.  Tavarez reminds Chava to be patient.  These things take time.  Chava wants to confront the suspect face to face.  Tavarez warns him against it.

Iker remembers the Doctors words that they’re gonna run tests to determine what may be causing Greta’s symptoms.  He remembers Sylvana’s words telling him to kill her, KILL HER, KILL HER, YOU HEAR?  Iker hopes they won’t catch them but he has to kill her.  But…..here comes happy go lucky Dani.  They chit chat ….. he turns to walk away but she stops him and asks him to make her one of his incredible teas.

Sofia continues her discussion with Syvlana.  Sylvana knows there is no excuse but she’s really very sorry.  She’s learned her lesson at a high price – their friendship.  She knows she never should have gone after her bf.  Now it’s Sofia’s turn to confess.  She never felt for Pato what she feels for Chava.  She’s discovered love and the desire to be by his side, despite all the obstacles.  As a woman, she understands Sylvana.  She understands love makes us do crazeeeee things.  Patricio isn’t what hurts most, it’s Sylvana's betrayal.  Sofia:  “You have no idea how much I love you and now I don’t know what to do with that.”  Sylvana doesn’t know what she’s going to do now.  She may have to sell her apartment.  She was barely paying for it and it will be a financial strain.  Sofia reminds her she will have severance pay due to her years with the company.  She’s grateful but she’s ready to resign.  She’s to blame for everything and doesn’t want any compensation. (wait, what?) She’s willing to start from Zero.  She hopes that in time, Sofia will be able to erase the pain she’s caused her and can remember the happy times they spent together.  She hopes those happy memories will help erase the mistake that now separates them.

I apologize up front. It's getting late and I didn't want to waste time editing -- so this may have more typos than usual.

Thank you, Paquita, the recap is excellent.

Repetitive Alexa said "Que te lo digo yo" 3 times and "De verdad te lo digo" twice. Heck, it is contafious because even Sofía said "De verdad te lo digo" once.

A couple of questions:

How long will it take stupid Lupe to be disappointed by her old deceitful drunk of a husband one more time?

How long will it take for someone to catch Irma out of
her wheel chair roaming around her apartment? So far, the pig is the only one who knows and he's not talking. At least he gets to go out on a leash now.

Jarifa

What does Alexa's little saying mean?

"Tears of Blood huh? Let me get my head around this Patprick. Your running crying to Greta is going to bring the tears of blood from Chava? You better watch out because to meeee it looks like you may be setting yourself up for an old fashioned ass whipping. We will just flip a coin for whether it is a nice one from Chava or a near death experience from Peralta's goons.

I am watching every episode with sweaty hands now waiting for the web of lies and other criminal activity to slooooowly come to light. Old (formerly known as) dim bulb Chava and cup and a saucer short of a full place setting Sofia have miraculously regenerated some newfound cerebral horsepower and are ever so slowly catching on to Patprick and Rinsey. I AM really worried about that plane load of chocolates.

"Irma out of her wheel chair"...I thought she was busted when she ran to the window to see Alexa join in for Benito's walk. The way Araceli, Chava, Paco and her other unemployed relatives and friends drop in it can't be long till Irkme gets the first of many well deserved anvils . El yunque grande por Irma.

Thanks, Paquita! I managed to see a bit of this episode. I'm worried that by next episode, nothing will have changed. Silvana will manage to convince soft touch Sofia to let her come back to the company, and Greta and the board will bring Pato back. Back to square one. Oh, and Greta won't be killed tomorrow either. Que te lo digo yo. (You heard it from me first.) Does that answer your question, Cyn?

I'm very worried about those contaminated chocolates going to South America. Once people start getting sick, the company is doomed.

Kirby, I see the pig becoming breakfast once Irma gets her hands on it!

She's still FAKING it: just like Javier!

Vivi, I'm also expecting both Patrick & Silvana to be back with Ripoli!

Greta's not done terrorizing people yet!

My two favorite parts were:

1)When Lupe shows Chava the bracelet, and with the look on his face, you can all but hear him contemplating selling it to fix Patotas...

2)When Silvana plays the ace up her sleeve for sympathy with her "I deserve nothing" speech, and Sofia is like, "Cool... Laters!"

Hahahaha!

And "Que te lo digo yo!" means "I'm telling you!", in the exclamatory sense.

Great work Paquita

"Chava is still roaming the halls of Ripoll. This is so much a high school drama.

Favorite scene was when Alexa told Armando she's gonna be in the movies. Dude signed up for this so try to enjoy the wild ride with crazy. Armando will pray for the day all he had to worry with was Irma overdosing.

Beginning to have more sympathy for Irma and cannot wait till she goes off on that squirrel, Alexa. Hugging all over her son outside the window.

Watching Matias is just, well, painful

Perhaps Lube will get arrested over that bracelet

Great translations for "Que te lo digo yo.". Another could be: "Because I say so!"

Jarifa

Thanks, Paquita.

Benito has become my favorite. I hope on their walk, that Armando and Nandito let Alexa do the pooper scooper honors.

So wrong for Alexa to turn up outside Armando's front door. Armando, if this is the best you can do to help Irma get back on her feet, why not just break up right now?

I love Renzi pointing out to Patricio how screwed he is with Peralta.

Diana - I hope the snow isn't too crazy there.

Jarifa- Yep. It changes slightly depending on the context of the conversation it follows.

I'm glad that Chava is focusing on his racing again. Poor Patotas must be covered in rust after sitting around all these months while Chava chased after Sofia.

Thanks everyone!

I was watching some older capitulos of Hasta over the weekend off On Demand, specifically capitulos #15-22 (I FF'd through a lot the second time around but watched all Alexas's scenes) and I was shocked when I heard her utter both versions of her signature phrase in not only every single capitulo but upwards of 3 times in two of them and twice in a couple others. She said either 'Que te lo digo yo' or 'De verdad te lo digo' in each one so she's actually been saying this since very early on. I don't know what capitulo it fist appeared in since I started with #15 but I, as well as others I think, didn't really notice it until much later on. I sort of assumed it started sometime after Alan left but I was way, way off.

I'd be lying if I didn't admit to not only listening for Alexa to say it in her scenes nowadays but also shouting out in excitement 1! or 2! or 3!, etc.. each time I hear it to keep count. ...so I am already hyper aware which is why I caught it in the past capitulos I was watching. Just thought I'd share. I wonder how many times she'll say it in the Gran Final knowing that it's going to be her last hurrah. I predict epic numbers. ;)

Vivi, that is what makes translation so exciting: trying to get the best approximation to the meaning conveyed in the original language that you can.

Jarifa

Anonymous, 12:16, I have been following those phrases sort of like a joke because the novela has gotten so boring that the most interesting thing for me has been listening for Alexa's repetitive phrases. Earlier I stated that I wondered if the writers were having fun with seeing how many times they could include them. Thank you for filling us in how early she started using them and also joining in the count!

Jarifa

Paquita, an excellent, well written recap. "Lupita prays about her post menopausal love troubles" was my favorite line of many.

I agree that Sophia is going to forgive Silvana, sooner rather than later. So frustrating!

And foolish Greta has fallen for Pato's lies. Again. I found myself halfheartedly calling out to her not to drink that green concoction. Sigh.

Niecie, Benito is so sweet. Those eyes! Including last night, we had about 27 inches of snow. MA was hit hard and after hours of cleaning and shoveling over the past two days, back to work tomorrow. Thanks for asking amiga.

Paquita, thanks again.

Diana

Diana- Wow! Stay safe and warm up there!

Thanks Vivi!

Diana

Diana, my boldest prediction: I'm expecting Greta to go after Chava's family members including Lupe!

Her reign of terror is NOT over yet & I wouldn't be shocked if Chava's neighborhood gets taken from them!
