Mi corazon es tuyo, #127, Thursday The good news is that chivalry isn’t dead. The bad news is that Johnny is one of its main representatives.

Skipping the old…

Fanny is telling Edith about what happened with Leon. Lenin keeps interrupting with texts, asking Fanny to answer his calls, because he has something important to tell her about the orphanage. Edith goes to see Nando, so Fanny can have the chance to call Lenin – she listens patiently to what he has to say, apparently it really is something important.
Edith walks into Nando’s room while he’s still reading about the “wraps” for growth. He shuts down his laptop immediately, hiding from Edith. She wants to know what he was doing, but he won’t tell her, so they get into an argument about being lied to / being nagged.
Edith goes to Fanny with her woes and Fanny says that Nando doesn’t like being controlled; besides, maybe what he was trying to hide was the present he plans to buy for her.
Nando is buying something, all right, he places an order on the site he has been checking out. In my opinion a little less hair gel and a little more confidence would do wonders for his maturity, but if he thinks that something bought off the Internet might help….

Marta is asking Angel what are his plans for Christmas. They both remember their travels from Christmases past. Before she leaves, she gives him a kiss on the cheek. Angel is shaken to the core, he might not be so in love with Ana as he thinks he is. That can only work in his favor, since Ana will never truly love him, but is his ex good enough for him? He’s a kids doctor and she killed their baby. Kind of hard to root for the couple, or even care about them too much.

Fanny is in the girls’ room, telling them about Lenin’s idea – to give away all the clothes that they are no longer wearing to the poor orphan girls. They all agree to it. Also, there is some talk about Sarai’s crush on Sebas and Fanny wishes her good luck. Have we ever been told how old Sarai is? She looks much closer in age to Luz, who’s practically a baby, than to Sebas. Why can't she crush on Alex or Guille - or both! Wouldn't it be fun to see the indestructible duo be rivals for a change?

Ana is telling Johnny about the pastorela. If he wants to play a part, too, he’ll have to audition, but they do need his technician skills. Johnny is glad to help, and Ana can’t help but notice how happy he is. Johnny explains why: he and Jenny finally kissed. The baby, who is also around, has the only reasonable reaction, because we clearly see his gag reflex (or did I imagine it?). Ana, who's waited for years for Johnny to commit to her, seems more than happy that her ex and her bestie are going steady or whatever.

Fernando and his driver are in a store, when Fer runs into three women, who are apparently his cousins. The three never before mentioned relatives are real life group Pandora. Two of the members have Lascurain as their real last name, so this is a cute, filler ploy meant to drag this show for a few more episodes.
The cousins weren’t able to make it to the wedding because they had a show that day, but no worries, because Fer is already divorced. He invites them to the house that night to catch up, which they happily accept.

Enrique is still in his catatonic state at the hospital, when he receives a ghostly visit from his dad. The old man hasn’t come to take his boy with him, but to remind him that he’s a bad revenger who should go to Emily Thorne’s school of revenge, because he’s done nothing to destroy the Lascurains so far. Enrique mentions how he tried to kill Nicolas, but dad isn’t impressed.
The nurse comes in and we can see that this is all happening in Enrique’s subconscious. When the nurse rhetorically asks if he remembers his name or what year it is, Enrique answers correctly, prompting her to run for a doctor.

Isabela comes to the mansion. Johnny answer and Isa doesn’t waste the opportunity to show her disgust (I still think these two should hook up, it would be disturbingly hilarious and maybe this way Jenny can be freed from him). Isa sees Ana holding the baby and throws a hissy fit. Ana won’t hand over little Diego Nicolas, but Johnny takes the baby just in time for things to get physical between the women. Ana slaps Isa, who is hysterical, especially after Ana has called Fernando by his name, without using the Don first. Ana refuses to give the baby to Isa without Fer’s permission, especially since just a day before Isa didn’t seem to want the baby.
So Ana calls Fernando, who comes home and tells Isa that since they have joint custody, they will have to share the baby in a very flexible way. Isa hasn’t really paid attention to any of the baby articles in their divorce agreement, she was obviously more interested in the money that she would get out of Fernando. He says that since she’s been feeling so bad and her C-section isn’t yet healed, he can keep the baby for now and he will bring him to her as soon as she feels better.
Isabella agrees, but can she at least hold the child? Fer agrees and Ana reluctantly gives the baby to his mother.
I despise Isabella just as much as everyone else, but I found the scene disturbing, to say the least. Ana has become the sole care provider for this infant, she’s getting way too attached and she didn’t even allow for Isabella to hold him until Fer told her to. Ana has reasons to hate Isa and Isa hasn’t shown much love for the baby so far, but the way Fer was talking about flexible custody really bothered me. No mother should be away from her newborn baby on Christmas. She is despicable, but she should have been asked to come for the party.
After she gets to hold Diego Nicolas and use that obnoxious baby-voice that she has with him, she gets teary eyed for a moment and I actually think those tears were real. She asks herself out loud how she ever managed to lose Fernando. He doesn’t have an answer for this.

The girls have gathered all their old clothes and Bruno helps them pack them in a heavy suitcase and take them to the orphanage.

Leon is getting ready to go to work when Mauricio asks him how the proposal went. Leon tells his son that he didn’t propose after all and that he doesn’t know when he’ll do it. He leaves Mau with Reina and goes to work. While remembering fanny's rejection, he meets Laura just outside, on the street (she lives in the neighborhood) and she can tell that he’s upset, but he won’t talk about it.

Still holding the baby that is not hers, Ana is telling Bruno, Fanny and Alicia about the conflict she had with Isabela. She was about to get into a fight with her, but Fernando came and solved everything perfectly. Fer is walking out of his office and hears everything, as Ana starts to express her amazement at Fer’s chivalry and brilliance; he’s a wonderful man and he smells so good; he’s so educated, also, he knew just what to tell Isa to avoid a conflict. Fer makes his presence known and Ana jumps up.
Fanny tells Fer that she and Alicia plan to go deliver the clothes together.
Alone, Ana thanks Fer for being such a gentleman and helping her with Isa. She is still holding the baby as they kiss, but then are interrupted by Bruno and the twins. The boys scare Ana with a fake snake hidden inside a box (I don’t know how it’s called). Fer tells them about his cousins coming for a visit that night.

At the orphanage, Alicia meets Marisela, a girl her age, who is pregnant and that’s why her mother kicked her out of the house. Hearing this girl’s problems Alicia realizes that her life is really not that hard.
Lenin recites some poetry for Fanny and then asks her if she’d like to go out later. She agrees to go out as friends and gives him a hug.

In the kids’ play room, Ana and Jenny are helping plan the pastorela. As they are constantly interrupted by the kids asking questions about decorations, they talk about the men in their lives. Ana says how wonderful mi Fernando is and how much she loves him. Jenny tells Ana that she actually liked Johnny's kiss, she felt butterflies. She feels so comfortable with Johnny, they are so alike. Normally this type of comment would be the kiss of death for a relationship that is only beginning, but they are pushing Johnny so much down our throats, I don’t know… Anyway, Jenny continues saying that Johnny has changed a lot, he treats her so well, he is so chivalrous; before she loved him like a brother and a friend, now she’s starting to love him like a man. Where is the baby when we need him to express what we all feel with his cute little face?

As night comes, Angel and Sol are having dinner together. Apparently they are eating some huge artichokes, which look like yuck! Sol asks him if he'd like to spend Christmas at the house with the Lascurains. She can’t wait to be with her daughter for this special night, they only had the chance to spend Christmas together for the two years that she had Ana when Ana was still a baby.
Angel would like to accept the invitation, especially since he likes Fernando very much, but he’s not sure he’ll be able to watch Ana make googly eyes at her boss all night (same here, Angel, same here).
He also mentions Marta coming by and how beautiful she looked. Sol has an “Oy, God” expression. Angel and Jenny need to meet ASAP.

Fanny is telling Ana about agreeing to see Lenin at night, as friends. Ana doesn’t think this is a good idea, because she’s broken hearted right now and not thinking straight. Besides, she kind of likes Lenin, she might fall into temptation. Fanny assures Ana that this will only be a friendly outing – which probably means that it will be just the opposite.
She meets Lenin at the café. He bought her a book (Christmas present, I suppose) and orders her a lactose-free double cappuccino (he knows what she likes).
Fanny tells him what happened with Leon and Lenin says that he understands where Leon is coming from because he has a small child who needs a mother. Fanny explains that she only started college, she is too young to take care of a child, no matter how much she loves that child. And Leon didn’t even allow her to give him an explanation.
Lenin understand her point of view, too, and he doesn’t think that she should feel guilty or pressured into accepting Leon, he is to blame because he doesn’t understand where she is coming from. Leon is stupid if he’s letting her go over this, but Lenin doesn’t think this is a definite break-up.
He also admits that he can’t be objective about the whole thing, because he has feelings for her. Surely she realized it. Fanny admits that she guessed something, but since he never said anything…
Of course he didn’t, she always spoke about Leon and how he is her novio. Holding her hand, he tells her that he thinks she’s great, he admires her immensely for getting out of her comfort zone and all he dreams about is to kiss her. He gets closer and kisses her hand, with Fanny unable to move or say anything.
Then Lenin pulls away and says that all that being said, he will wait. She’s still in love with Leon and is in a very vulnerable state now, it wouldn’t be fair to take advantage of her. He kisses her forehead (or, better said, the silly looking pinkish wool headband that she's wearing). Fanny doesn’t seem to dislike the kiss; if anything, she looks disappointed because he’s not doing more. He makes sure that she has her car and will be able to drive home and then leaves.
Nobody said it out loud this time, but this is truly chivalrous behavior. And coming from a 20 year-old, too. Are we sure we really want Leon to be Fanny’s end game?

Back at the mansion, cousins Lascurain have arrived and meet Bruno and Ana. Ana almost faints recognizing the Pandora group. The women have brought a boy with them, too (he’s part of the group, I think). Fer introduces Ana as the nanny and the woman that he loves. Everyone kisses and is happy, Luz and the twins come downstairs to meet the ladies and play the snake trick on them.
Ana mentions how sometimes they sing playback, which they deny profusely. To prove their point, they start singing, while Ana is filming them with her phone and all the kids gather around, one by one.

Thank you, Adriana Noel, for the hilarious recap! I especially like how you 'observed' Diego Nicolas' gag reflex during Juan's revelation about his and Jenny's kiss. However, I did disagree with you about the artichokes. I thought they looked DELICIOUS.

So, Enfrique fancies himself Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark. If so, we might wind up with an entire stage of dead bodies before this tn is over.

So, Angel is over Ana already because Marta showed up looking hot? Shallow much?

So, Alicia's conversation with Marisela disturbed me. Marisela shares her story: I'm an unwed teenage mother, with an AWOL father and a mother who rejected me. Alicia responds: Wow, your life sucks, Chica. I had a few pimples once, and my dad confiscated my iPhone 6 for a few days.

`And then, of course, Marisela replies to Alicia: I'm so happy you condescended to visit me. I hope we can be BFFs.

Ecuador, you make a good point about Alicia and Marisela.

About the artichokes - they looked fake, especially since they remained untouched on the plates. I always look at what the actors eat during scenes - mostly salads and fruits. Those artichokes were huge. I only tried to use them while cooking once - seriously disappointed, since I have no clue about their best use.

Adriana the was the funniest recap I've read in quite sometime. Your snark at every turn was so hilarious. I won't reiterate which lines I laughed at because there were so many. You were on a roll!
So now I have two, insensitive juvenile male nitwits to further my viewing pleasure -- Johnny and Lenin.
Hanging in here by a thread.

Great work, Adriana.

I have to admit I often wonder why Adrian Uribe didn't get a nose job, which would improve his looks exponentially. When he was in the first season of Bailando por un Sueno he actually started to look really good when he was dancing in black tie.

I think we are being set up for Ana and Fernando to adopt the baby. No way is Zerobela going to raise him herself and Enfrique is equally unqualified.

On the subject of which, his situation seems to defy medical logic. He got up and walked around barely 24 hours after being admitted to the hospital, then enters a coma for a month, and now he is almost paralyzed? Sounds like the writers couldn't make up their minds about what to do with him at the moment.

I wonder how this series is doing in Mexico in the ratings department since I always get suspicious when musical celebrities who aren't also known actors get introduced into a story like this. We hear nothing about Fernando's extended family and suddenly he has cousins who are a famous group?

Urban,

I so agree with you. I think this story has gone completely off the tracks and Osorio is winging it episode by episode.

I thought the scene with Lenin kissing Fanny's hand and rubbing her arm was completely and totally disgusting. It kind of reminded me of a guy with a "foot fetish" (did I hear Prince Andrew's name mentioned?) but sorta in reverse ---hands for feet. My skin was actually crawling during that scene.

Oh my, this recap was amazing Adriana. Your zingers were priceless and this was pure gold!
" The baby, who is also around, has the only reasonable reaction, because we clearly see his gag reflex (or did I imagine it?). "

I will admit it, I haven't disliked Lenin up to now but Leon was still ok with me too, but last night, have to say, except for the hand kissing, I was surprised at the maturity and logic Lenin put out there. Almost made you wonder why an older Leon isn't the one being shown with these attributes if he's end game. And backing off to boot. Lenin could of moved in for the kill, lord knows Fanny is a dear in headlights with him, but he didn't. (And I kind of liked Fanny's headband. In NE Ohio with our frigid temps, you see those a lot since they are used heavily as ear warmers, especially with the young girls. I have one myself, but with no flowers, etc.)

Anyone else think Alicia sprung up and inch or two since this started. She looked "older" last night for some reason.

I can't even on Ana's yelling again in the house when Pandora started singing....why why why do they have the character do that???Horrid example to the kids I'm sorry.

And I have to say, I for one am still bugged that Ana is still acting like an enamored school girl. Her character would be so much better if the writers showed growth and confidence in being Fer's equal and I'm still not feeling that.

And I agree, I think there is some glimmer of connection for Isa and the baby, saw that when she first held him, but I don't see her wanting to deal with the day to day raising of a child. She's too self-centered. As for last night, as much as we don't like her, she shouldn't have had to ask permission to hold the baby from Fer. He should have offered and allowed her time at the house with little Diego privately.

I'm almost wondering why Angel was brought into this TN except he's great eye candy. He never has been the possible love interest we thought he would be. All we get is pining and the occasional family time he's invited to. Are they planning something for later?

Daisynjay

Thanks Adriana! will read the recap in a moment... but wanted to point two things...
Isabela telling Fernando 'i don't know how i let you go' and his facial expression at the same time feeling bad for her and also giving her the benefit of the doubt about that being her true feelings....

and then Pandora's choice of song at the end...
'No te vayas'
Siento que se va acabando el día, (I feel that the day is ending)
que la vida y la poesía se diluyen sin tu amor. (that life and poetry dilute without your love)
Para que decir una mentira, (why lie)

Vivir no es igual sin tu beso al despertar…
(Living is not the same without your kiss when I wake up...)
No te vayas, (Don't go!)
regálame esta noche (give me this night) dale vida a mi alma (give life to my soul) quiero sentirme amada (I want to feel loved)
Es tu fuego el que me quema (it is your fire that burns me) tu pasión que me alimenta,(your passion that feeds me)
no te alejes que me muero (if you go i die)
porque estar sin ti no quiero, (because i don't want to be without you)
No te vayas
hoy quédate conmigo (stay with me today)
ya lo vez te necesito (as you see, I need you)
Me hace falta tu cariño (I need your love)
es mi cielo tu mirada, (your looking at me is a my sky/heaven)
sin tu amor no queda nada (i have nothing without your love),

Quiero ser ese verso que se escribe en tu cuerpo (I want to be that poetry that is written in your body)
centinela de tus sueños (guardian of your dreams)
No te vayas.

No te vayas,
regálame esta noche…

Talk about anvils!! and i get goosebumps about the possibility Fernando will indeed let Isa move in when the sh hits the f...

but the whole scene with Ana, Alicia, Fanny and Fernando sneaking behind to hear what Ana was saying about him (exactly, chivalry at its best!) was very sweet.

Adriana, great job and lots if laughs. Thanks!

Fun episode. Loved the old standby snake trick.

Put me on the list of artichoke lovers. I will eat them steamed, baked, boiled, canned, pickled, etc. These looked delicious.

Maybe they picked the Pandora group because two of the members have Lascuráin as their surname. An easy joke?

So now Jenny is feeling better and starting to like Johnny, when will Nico darken her door? He will return some time to upset everything, right?

Fanny doesn't need Lenin as a confidante. Bad choice. I guess we know where this plot is going.

Jarifa

Adriana, I enjoy fresh artichokes the best when someone else prepares them. I have always found them tedious to make myself.

Jarifa

Love the title, Adriana. Thanks for the funny recap!

On the Magda vs. Marta question, a Televisa site and a wikipage on Luz Elena Gonzalez call her Magda. Marta said yesterday that another site about LEG had her as Marta. A mystery, I guess. And the plot thickens, as Angel clearly has some feelings toward her -- that make a lot more sense than his non-relationship with Ana.

I, too, keep wondering how much of this novel is being written as we go along. Did Osorio think from the start that Nico would leave for a long period of time? Did the audience object to his relationship with Jenni? And why the heck did the now-sweet Sarai get written into the plot?

Great question, UA, about why the celebs. It is a way to stretch this think out for ever, particularly over a holiday period.

Sorry for the typos -- that should be:

It is a way to stretch this thing out forever, particularly over a holiday.

Urban, the last time I checked Mi corazon was leading in the ratings, but it's not like the show has any real competition.
I took Pandora 's presence like a simple cameo that has nothing to do with the actual show.

Victoria, I thought that Lenin was cute, he could have taken advantage of Fanny -she looked more than willing.

Daisy, count me in as another person who can't stand the "young kids in love "routine. Both Ana and Fer have been around the block and then some.

Martha, thank you for the lyrics, I thought the song was very nice.

Jarifa, I agree that Lenin should stay away from Fanny. Becoming her bff with all the lingering feelings between them is not a good idea.

Gotta go to work. I hope I can catch up with all of you later on.

Ec Bound, I understood the conversation between Alicia and Marsela in a totally different context.

After Marsela details her problems, Alicia realizes that her own problems are nothing compared to Marsela's and blurts them out (pimples, iPhone, etc) in a way to let Marsela know that she (Alicia) understands what *real* problems are.

Marsela then responds thanking Alicia for coming and hoping they can BFFs to which Alicia says yes of course".

I thought that was one of the better scenes in this episode since it showed a great change in Alicia from being a pampered whiny person to being one that begins to see her life in context.

Part 1 of 2
Here is my idea on how Fernando should find out about Ana’s pole dancing …

Fernando and Ana are sitting in front of the fireplace. The crackling of the fire can be heard in the background. Fernando takes Ana’s hand, caressing it so gently. She discreetly allows this, enjoying his touch, feeling the warmth of his body as he gets close to her.

“Ana, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Being part of you, being part of the life and joy that you have brought into this household.”

Ana gazes into his eyes. She can see the vitality of his words, the truth behind his emotions. Then she looks slightly away, remembering the wall that is ever present.

“Ana, will you accept being part of my family, part of our lives, part of our hearts? Will you accept me as your husband?”

Ana is surprised. Perhaps not that much, since this moment was inevitable. They had gotten close and deep within she knew of the love that existed between them, but then there was the wall.

“Fernando, I love you more than I can express and I accept you and your children to be part of my family, but the real question is will you accept me after I tell you what you need to know about me?”

“I would accept you no matter what.”

“Then let me say it once and for all, let me end this torment that I feel about you not knowing.”

“What is it Ana?”

“My life has not always been easy. Needing money I took a job and signed a contract with an unscrupulous character to pole dance at his club. I got good at it and the club prospered, but it seems that the more it prospered to more I was tied to the contract. In an emergency I borrowed money from him, only tying me more.”

Ana took a deep breath, not knowing what to expect.

“How long have you been doing this?”

“A few years before I started to work at your household.” Ana answered quickly, wanting to get everything off her chest.

Fernando got up and took a few steps. Then he just stood there with his back to Ana. She anxiously awaited his words. Would he let this go? Would she lose him forever?

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I needed the job. Then I got attached to the kids then I fell in love with you. I did not want to lose you and I was afraid.”

Ana stood up and walked over to where Fernando was. She moved her hand as though she was going to put it on Fernando’s shoulder, but hesitated at the last minute and did not do so.

Fernando’s mind was filled with thoughts. He loved her, but she was right. If he had known about her pole dancing from the beginning he would have never have hired her. Just imagine; a pole dancer at a strip joint as the nanny of his kids! Never! But now was a different time. He did not know her as Ana the pole dancer, he knew her as Ana, his love. Plus he was a different person, thanks to her. She had proven her love for the kids over and over again and as much as he disagreed with her moonlighting profession he knew that he wanted her to be the kids’ second mother.

“Where do you dance?”

“At the Chicago. You know it, you’ve been there.”

Then it hit him.

“Lola?”

“Yes, that was me.”

“I am disappointed in you Ana”

Those words tore through the fabric of her being. Her anxiety grew. She could feel tears welling up in her eyes.

“I can expect such vileness from Isabela. She has manipulated and lied to me in so many ways. I found my refuge in you. I loved your candor, your honesty, the integrity that you brought to this house. Now I find that you too lied to me. Do you have anything to add?”

Part 2 of 2

“I saw no other way.” She said as she slowly turned and started to walk away. Fernando had not moved, standing stoically facing away from her.

He noticed that she was leaving. Her gait and posture showed weariness and defeat. It was then that a voice within him said ‘Don’t let her go’.

“Ana, wait”

She stopped in her tracks, but without turning around.

“Don’t go. Ever.”

Hearing this Ana turned around, looking at what Fernando will do next.

“You don’t want me to go?”

“No Ana. This isn’t easy for me. The only thing I am sure of is that I like the new path that I am now taking and the journey that is teaching me who I am and who my family is. And I want to take this journey with you. So yes, I accept you Ana Leal.” Fernando said as he turned around to face Ana. He saw a tear roll down her cheek as her sad expression turned into a smile.

**The end***
Now how it probably will happen in the novella…

Isabella storms into the library where Fernando is sitting behind his desk.

“Isabella! What are you doing here? You are forbidden to enter this house!”

“Not while my baby is here no I am not!” she screams at Fernando.

“And I don’t want that nananaca anywhere near my baby!”

“Why not? She is the perfect person to take care of my son. Besides, I didn’t see you rushing to take care of him when I was at your apartment!”

“Why? Ha! She’s taken you for an idiot! Do you even know what she does nights? Oh no, I am sure you don’t. You’ve always preferred her to me. Even when we were married you would be thinking of her. Pure and noble Ana! Indeed! She’s a stripper at the Chicago! Yes, she dances around provocatively for drunken and livid men!”

“You’ve crossed the line Isabella! I will not have you slandering Ana!”

“Slandering? Ha! Is this some sort of act or are you really that naïve? Here, watch your precious Ana perform! Over 2 million others have!” says Isabella while she pulls out a tablet and plays the video.

Fernando watches the video in disbelief.

“She’s actually quite good for a nananaca! And who knows what she does when she is not dancing!” mocks Isabella.

“Anaaaaaa!” yells Fernando at the top of his lungs.

“And you, get out!” yells Fernando turning his attention to Isabella.

Isabella exits the library, bumping into Ana as she comes in.

“Enjoy your life stripper!” says Isabella as she leaves the library.

Ana gets a sunken feeling in her stomach.

“What is the meaning of this!!??” Fernando yells at Ana as he shows her the video as it is ending.

Ana is speechless and frozen, but finally gets a few words out.

“I can explain…”

“Explain what? That I trusted my children to a stripper? That you provoke men after you put the children to sleep? That you love me so you get naked in front of strange men?”

“It’s not what it seems…”

“Oh I think I’ve seen enough! I want you to pack your bags. Bruno will take care of any salary you are owed. I trusted you with my love Ana! How could you betray me!? Leave now.”

Ana slowly turns around, biting her lip and trying to hold back her tears as she exits the library.

She then ends up in the arms of Angel and Viewerville is tormented with another 80 episodes while this gets resolved and Angel gets added to the I-knew-she-loved-another-man-but-I-tried-to-make-her-mine-and-now-I-am-miserable club.

Well done, Salvador.

Jarifa

Adriana, a couple little details to supplement...
'Fer makes his presence known and Ana jumps up.'
well, Fanny could not hold it anymore so when Ana kept on complimenting Fernando on how he was 'silk glove' handling Isa, she asked Ana to stop babbling, and Ana responded that you can only bobble when you want someone to kiss you' and this was Fernando's turn of 'not holding it anymore' and he asked the girls out loud from behind Ana 'where are you girls going with suitcases??'
it was indeed a funny scene with Fanny and Alicia holding their laughter and Fernando approaching quietly...

and when the cousins arrived, Ana yelled that she loved their music and started to sing loudly 'como te va, mi amor??...' so Fernando turns around to look at her and say 'I am doing REALLY well...' and since Ana felt a bit embarrassed and started to whisper to him to keep it under wraps, he walked around her and held her from behind while he told his cousins 'and this is Ana, my kids' nanny... Ana is the woman that I LOVE, the LOVE OF MY LIFE.' (Ana turned around and gave a 'WHOA!!!' face of delight)

and Yes! I too was laughing at the baby's timing at reacting to Isa and to Johnny...

I would call that the jumping snake prank... usually done with a cardboard jar... think a pringles jar but the cap is screw on so the snake pops out of it.

Salvador, I totally agree that the Alicia and Maricela short convo was one of the highlites of the episode... along with the cheesy Fernando sneaks behind Ana to hear her compliment him scene..

I don't buy Isa's drastic change of mind... 'I don't know how i let you go' only got a reaction from he that I wished I could run into that living room and yell at her 'you can't let go someone that was never yours to begin with!'

btw, both Sarai and Marta/Magda are on the beginning credits now.

I don't see how Hissabela could prove Ana to be a stripper if she has never taken off her clothes. That wouldn't be an easy thing to photoshop in a video.

It would be great and ironic if Hissabela ended up stripping for her supper, but with a business degree that wouldn't make sense unless she got caught doing something unethical at work and got blackballed from the business world.

Salvador... loved your alternate scene... and yuuuup!! that's what i am afraid is ahead of us. Not necessarily Ana will jump to Angel's arms, since she has experience trying to find solace/sanctuary in the arms of another man who loves her but she can't love... but she certainly will hang around him and Isa will have free road to feed whatever she wants into Fernando's ears... for a while, at least. not sure the baby father revelation would be the one that wakes him up to HIS OWN stupidity.

UA, i am not sure Isa needs to go that far... just show him the video of Ana dancing in the pole... Fernando's old 'Don Hielo' ways that are still there somewhere and his pain at the 'secret they ALL kept from him' will do the rest.

sorry i meant Fanny asked Ana to stop drooling, not babbling.

"I don't buy Isa's drastic change of mind... 'I don't know how i let you go' "

MartaI, I don't think Isa bought that either! I am sure it was the post pregnancy talking, giving Isa a momentary lapse of humanity.

This is great Adriana!

"The baby, who is also around, has the only reasonable reaction, because we clearly see his gag reflex"

I don't trust Lenin far as I can throw him. His approach last night is consistent with how he has woo'ed Fanny so far. While every reason for her rejection of Leon's proposal valid, her response to Leon almost verbatim what Lenin had already laid out as a waste of life if she chose it. He is killing Leon and what he can offer, slowly and Fanny is already in his trap. He set the hook last night masterfully.

Excellent recap!

I don't know who Pandora are so it wasn't until Ana was making a huge deal out of them being in the house that I realized they must be famous in Mexico.

Fer announcing that Ana is the love of his life...just putting it out front and center for everyone...made me very jealous of Ana! But then I heard the slow rhythm of anvils getting louder. Fer is being set up for huge humiliation value.

I found the scene with Ana and Isa, and the Isa/Fer scene, disturbing too. Isa is the child's mother and there should be no question that if she wants to hold or take her child she can. I don't think she should be invited to the party after all of the awful things she has done to the rest of the kids but they should be sharing DN on Christmas.

I thought Reeky's father, when he was alive, was trying to tell Reeky he was against his revenge scheme. I guess they turned that around.

I think the writers don't have a clear plan for Angel. I think they created his character when Pablo Montero was getting the axe. Obviously there has to be someone fighting Fer for Ana's affections.

Johnny and Jen isn't bothering me anymore. I wish it was moving more slowly. Jen is a strong woman and doesn't need to go from one man to the next.

So far, how are the good guys doing in this TN ?

Oh, Salvadore, you should be a TN writer. I like your idea. Actually, both scenarios were spelled out brilliantly, just we don't want to have to deal with the 2nd one, which, yep, that'll be the one we get. So clichéd but that's most TN's for you.

I'm wondering if the Reeky dream was still his own version of what he needs to do in seeking his revenge. I really didn't pick up his Dad was going for that either back when he was alive. Maybe we were wrong and that's why Reeky is the way he is? My guess is he will be the one to spill to Fer the baby isn't his...not much point to his character otherwise since he's out of the company.

Thank you Adriana, terrific recap. I was hoping that Enrique's father was coming to take him with him too. And Carvivlie, I also thought when the dad was alive that he was trying to tell him not to enact vengeance in his name either. Now we know that he wants his son to. What a sick family.

I never heard Angel call Magda Marta. My ccs used Magda. Angel has told Ana that she was the love of his life, so it's not surprising to me at all that he could come around to her again if she convinces him that she's sorry about what she did.

I for one, am in Lenin's camp. I like him. There, I said it. I have liked him from the start and he doesn't creep me out at all. You have to realize that he's 19 too, and they can still act somewhat immaturely at that age. But I think that he and Fanny share a lot of similar interests and I think he's a better match for her than Leon.

I will add what I said late yesterday in the comments about custody of the baby. There is no way that Fer and Ana are going to bond with this baby, and they already have, and have them not end up with it. So that means that Isa and/or Enrique will die and/or be in jail. Isa kills Enrique and she ends up in jail?

Carvivlie...

Great point that by shouting his love and admiration for Ana in public, Fer is being set up for huge humiliation value.

I think you all are misinterpreting Fernando in what he told Isa... he reminded to her that per the divorce decree, they have shared custody. He added that the ratio of time (the time she has the baby and the time he has the baby) is flexible - I interpreted that as it not necessarily being the stiff 50-50 each week/month schedule of weekends / every other week... but that since she needs recovery time he is willing to take the baby under his care for more than the 50% of the time these days... i saw it as a voluntary offer, not an imposing remark) he felt it was better for both Isa and for the baby to have the baby stay there for a few days under Ana's care and then Fernando would take her back to Isa when she felt better (I definitely give him the reason for saying that after he heard Isa yell at her apartment 'WOULD SOMEONE SHUT UP THAT BABY???!!!' [she was not asking for someone to bring the baby to her, she wanted the annoying noise to stop] when he got there). I don't think even Isa thinks the baby is under any danger by being in Ana's care for a few days while she recovers. (And I don't doubt Fernando had to do a bit more convincing talk to Isa before she left with empty hands... if she had insisted to take the baby with her, i doubt he would have stopped her.
You all do have a point that Ana hessitating to give the baby back when Isa wanted to at least hold her baby was out of order... but i could understand Fernando just standing there and peeking toward Ana to realize she was feeling jealous of Isa because the baby was his. Also Isa started to yell that she wanted to take the baby with her when she saw that Ana was the one caring for it. So Fernando has the right to question Isa's state of mind vs the baby's safety at this moment (esp with Isa's proven background of yelling at Luz in front of him and hitting and verbally abusing Sebastian...).
I don't think she should be invited to the party after all of the awful things she has done to the rest of the kids but they should be sharing DN on Christmas. (agreed on that one)

I thought Reeky's father, when he was alive, was trying to tell Reeky he was against his revenge scheme. ... ( I interpreted that as a clear indication that this image of his father and the attitude was because this is all in Freeky's mind and his dad's attitude and commands here were what Freeky wanted his dad to say to him before he died... not that his dad himself had changed his mind.
I think the writers don't have a clear plan for Angel. I think they created his character when Pablo Montero was getting the axe. Obviously there has to be someone fighting Fer for Ana's affections. (it would not surprise me, that sounds reasonable)

Johnny and Jen isn't bothering me anymore. I wish it was moving more slowly. Jen is a strong woman and doesn't need to go from one man to the next. (ITA with that too)

Fernando will be horribly humiliated and I feel bad for him in advance. Why doesn't Ana just pin a sign on his back that says idiot, and let him walk around.

I don't like Lenin because he wants to create a Fanny of his dreams and knows she is malleable.

I don't like Leon because he wants to create a Fanny of his dreams and doesn't care if she wants the same or not.

Fanny is not ready for grown up stuff, though she believes she is, and gonna make bunches of mistakes.

Cathyx, i totally agree that Fernando and Ana have already bonded too much with the baby to not end up with it, with the possible exception that Jen will end up with it... but with Johnny? not sure. Angel would be a better choice.

tofie, I like and totally agree with your summary of Lenin, Leon and Fanny.

Great funny recap.

Is Fanny really that dumb? Can she go 1 minute without a novio? Or anybody else on the show for that matter.

Which producer/writer/director is Zeus related to. How else could he get hired?

Enfrique's father didn't appear as a ghost; he is what Enfrique's twisted mind is imagining. We saw him at least twice trying to communicate to his son that his revenge plan is wrong, which Enfrique didn't want to see.

As for whether Zerobela kills him and goes to prison for it at the end, I can see this happening based on how things went in PEAM. She has already tried to kill Sebastian and Siete. When that becomes known her tuchas is toast.

Adriana, love your title and the whole recap!

So, Lenin, isn't "saliste de tu zona de confort" an Anglicism? Somebody needs to call him on his hypocritical snobbery.

Denise

"hypocritical snobbery"

Yep, somebody does

I agree, Denise... can't practice what you are preaching against... hypocritical indeed.

and that snobbish and 'i am up here, you have a lot to learn' attitude of his is what i dont like. who made him judge and jury for anyone's background and behavior? where is his Psych degree?

Thanks Adriana for the detailed recap. As I'm working on a Criminal Minds viewing marathon, I've had to put all my other daily shows on hold so I'm not watching this at the moment.

I have to say that I enjoy Sarai. I loved the actor so much in PEAM that I don't care if her being at the Lascurains is unrealistic. I really like seeing her.

The kid that plays Mau is so charming it's scary. Future galan, I'm thinking.

Nanette

Denise, good call!

UA: I remember Isa hurting Sebes, but not trying to kill him. She did look like she was going to push Ana down the stairs one time, but Bruno came in and spoiled it for her.

About a comment from yesterday:

Cathyx: I think Leon and Fanny are the end game. I’m with you about the baby. Ana doesn’t have it in her to be upset at a baby because of who his mother is and the fact that it’s not her. I’m sure if she even remotely acted like it did, Fer would not push him on her. But, technically, she IS the nanny.

I’m also not disgusted by Johnny. He’s come a long way. I also don’t find him ugly. But then, I’m not usually attracted to the “pretty boys”.

speaking of the pretty boys... i can't wait to see what the 'clones' and Mau look like in about 10-14 yrs.
and Sarai is really good in the acting... she should also grow to be a good lead.
The scene with Sebas and Sarai winning the contest with Sebas kissing her on the cheek while Fernando, Ana and Angel looked at it in awe/surprise was cute. And she (Sarai) was real good in it.

I dearly hope that los clones are stunning in 10-15 years. They are unusually handsome little boys and it would be criminal for that to be taken away from them. They have galan potential.

They could do a remake of De que te quiero, te quiero.

Oh, please, no!

Let's get something original going. I'm so weary of remakes.

yes, i second UA, something original please!!!
the other day i saw an episode of the ER reality shows where a pair of twins work on different Hospital ERs in the same city so someone with Munchausen syndrome looking for pain meds went to one of the ERs and then went to the other for more meds and ran out as soon as she saw the twin doc... fun show.

I agree that Enrique's twisted mind created the ghostly vision of his father remembering him of the revenge. He feels guilty because he somehow let things slip through his hands.

I kind of like Lenin, too. If we absolutely have to pick a novio for Fanny, he's much better suited for her right now. The key here being "right now". The problem with tns is that we always see couples in endgame terms, when in reality Fanny is 19, her endgame should be at least half a dozen years in the future.
How about Lenin for right now and then Leon in about 5 years - he will have been established in his career and winning some decent money, she will be on her own, starting out her new career - this would make them equal in a way that daddy's princess + poor guy with a kid will never do.

The twins are cute and if they both continue acting, imagine the type of roles they would be cast in, being identical twins and everything. They would be every producer's dream. But for obvious reasons I think we'll see more of the actor who plays Sebastian.

I'd like original programing too, but that seems to be beyond the telenovela powers-that-be. It would be nice to see a novela with twin protaganists played by twins.

AdrianoNoel, thank you for the super big recap! I always enjoy reading the recaps especially like lately when I have to step away from the TV once in awhile.

A) The turned-down mouth thing Leon does so frequently is making me wonder if he is Fanny's end-game. Especially since last night Lenin made it so clear he wouldn't pressure Fanny, that he would wait until she had things clear in her mind. (Which was more galan-worthy talk, IMHO).

B) It was a little odd/disturbing to me how the Lascurains sort of hijacked little Dieguito. Sure, new-momma Isabel was fretting and cranky when she got home from the hospital, and Fer was very kind about offering to take the baby...just temporarily. But the way Ana was holding the baby and not handing it over would have made any new mother see red.

J in Oregon

Hissabela isn't seeing red over being Diego's mother; she's seeing red because she hates Ana.

I don't think Hissabela is capable of being an acceptable mother. She probably already resents the baby for not being the glue the binds Fernando to her. She's not gotten his entire fortune, she doesn't live in the mansion, and her hatred of his children isn't something she can hide from anyone anymore.

It will be interesting when Enfrique is up and around again because he will cause her a lot of grief.

Alicia's braces are gone and feeling more confident about her appearance has made her "stand tall" and seem more mature.

Artichokes are easy - cut off the stem, cut top off by about 1/3, put in steamer for about 45 minutes. Melt butter, dip petals in melted butter and eat. Eat choke base after removing the thistle portion - the best part!

Silvia Navarro is truly gifted and beautiful as well. I just love her, but not her yelling in this TN.

Fanny may have had adenoids as a child and never learned to breathe through her nose, thus breathes through her mouth. Too bad someone along the way, like her Mother, didn't teach her how much prettier she looks with her mouth closed. I really like her alot and she is a very pretty girl.

Preach it Toffie! You summed them up beautifully.

Isa has certainly proven she's a danger to children--to their physical, mental and emotional health. I'd be leary of her taking good care of DN, too.

I'm thinking Jardinera got her weekends mixed up again.

Not that we are missing anything. It was only a christmas episode with nothing really new happening.
