♥ Mi Corazón es Tuyo ♥ #129 Lunes 1/19/15: Holiday Madness
When Fanny walked away Laura gloated, saying “You are an idiot, Fanny. León will be mine.”
León said that wasn't important; family was important. Laura went on about not caring for her family because they were mediocre losers. León didn't look like he enjoyed hearing her say that. He asked what Fanny had said to her and she said Fanny told her that she had come to give gifts to Mauricio and Margarita and that she was happy to see them together because she didn't feel the same about him.
She had sat on the arm of his chair and kissed his hair. He looked as though the seeds of discontent were being sown.
He admired the portrait of Estefania and smiled when he saw the plate of cookies. He read the note as the images went from the webcam to the twins' tablet computer. He commented on how smart the kids were and how nice of them to leave the cookies. He ate one, saying it was delicious.
He got her to accompany him outside past a walkway covered in poinsettas to a table with a crystal box. He wanted to be sure the children were inside before she opened it. They kissed, not realizing that the younger kids were coming down the stairs to the parlour inside.
The twins had their tablet with them, explaining to Fanny they got a photo of Santa's red sack. The twins were disappointed that that was all they had and still couldn't prove they saw Santa, but looked as though they could get over this.

I liked:
Fanny slapping Laura.
The whole Santa adventure especially with him telling the little kids that their mother sent them loads of kisses from heaven.
Nico reappearing and Jemnifer telling him off. He sure is confused. Will he try to get back with her?
Ana drawing comparisons between Leon's actions with Laura and Fanny's actions with Lenin . Too bad Fanny is not quite willimg to see the similarity yet.
I did not like:
Fernando giving Ana the ring and ahe being so happy and relaxed with the whole situation when she has not told him the truth yet. Too early for celebrations.

I loved the kids trying to get a photo of Santa. A cute episode.
I thought that Manuela looked especially pretty at the dinner.
And, how interesting, that Laura would describe her family as mediocre just as Isabela was accusing her mother of the same mediocrity. Leon needs to run fast and run far to get away from Laura!
Mati - I agree with you. The Santa scene was cute.
Lili - Good point. The brujas gave Ramona the night off. Why didn't the Lascurains allow their help to take the holiday off?
Personally, since everyone in esta familia lies, I will feel A LOT better about Nueve once I see him with my own ojos.
Lili - You make an excellent point about not caring for Angel and his ex., which nails the major problem with this tn on the head. Since I have started watching MCET, two tns have started and will finish soon. Although I haven't watched them, the producers must have detailed events in the lives of a relatively small group of people, allowing the audience to identify with the characters. This producer has introduced so many characters in MCET, and extended it so far beyond its interesting-plot limit, we in Viewerville cannot identify with and care about any of them.
Angel's ex is probably meant to be the anti-Ana. Ana has less formal education than Magda, but loves children and wants some of her own. It would be a career-ender for her at Chicago, but she knows that and is OK with it. Ana is ready for new challenges.
Magda wouldn't have children because of the fear of Down's Syndrome and (more importantly) what that would do to her career. She is more afraid of the latter because Down's Syndrome is something that can be tested for and is therefore avoidable. Whether the pregnancy she aborted was the result of a positive test for this we don't know yet. Years ago one had to wait until the end of the first trimester to know but I don't know if that is still true (Carlos, where are you?).
UA, amazing recap and comments from Mt Olympus as usual... will have to re-read later on when i have finished with a big meeting at work.
Loved that Ana confronted Fanny of being so upset at Leon when she has been playing the same games/mixed messages with Lenin herself.
Loved that Fernando gave Ana the handkerchief she cleaned his blood with when they met and he had ordered the stitching of a poinsetta (nochebuena/pascua) flower and their initials on it. Not sure what it means for him to give her a ring but it is not a formal proposal, although their swearing that they are sure of what they feel was sweet. Getting really tired of Ana pushing the brakes on him with the excuse of confusing the kids... MOVE ON!!
forgot to say that on friday my fav moment was when the little kids were doing a 'all for one and one for all sign with the hands and Siete came happily hopping three times to get close and put his paws in there too...
That Three (Four?) Musketeers thing was adorable. I love how novela dogs interact with their human co-stars. I also love how Luz went from being the twins' cheerleader to being their accomplice.
Now, where is the parrot I decreed these kids should have? ;)
This episode also makes me wonder what Mexican parents teach their children about Santa. Do most of them encourage belief until a certain age, like parents do in the US?
As to the ring, I think that Fernando and Ana are past the age where an elaborate formal proposal is appropriate despite his ability to afford any way to dress it up. A private moment (of which they don't get many) with a bottle of wine and candlelight would be appropriate for them.
As to Ana's putting on the brakes, the children's "confusion" is a pretense. She knows these kids as well as he does. She knows they want this. She is afraid of telling Fernando about Chicago.
Actually, with that place being closed for two weeks around Christmas now is actually a good time to tell him. It would give him time to react and think of next steps to getting her free of Dorofeo's indenture.
pretense for not telling him...
but i agree the kids want them together as much as or even more than they themselves do... what i meant with the 'MOVE ON!!' was 'OUT WITH IT AND MOVE ON!!!'
agreed that this is the perfect time to tell him, like between xmas and new year so they have a plan already by the time the Chicago opens again or even take action to control Dorofeo before that.
I think Enrique will spill the beans about many things: Isa, baby's father; Nico, attempted murder, stalking Fanny, etc. but nobody will believe him (because he's hallucinating) which will enable him to do more dastardly deeds.
And isn't that nurse of his the same one that was at the cancer ward for kids where Bruno entertained them? She gets around in her sexy uniform. Will she cover for him at some point .. a gift for him? ... a little weird.
Not bothered by the introduction of Angel and Magda. I recall just a flash of Edith early and later her story so think we'll get to it.
Don't think Nic should be rewarded with another love interest nor reunited with Jenny. This could be resolved if he would die before the divorce is final. Jenny would get the house and cash without guilt and Nic would, well, be dead.
Not letting us see what's in the box, hmmmm. Seemed Ana assumed it was an engagement ring, and already stalling for time.
Don't like Leon much but Laura, ugh.
Fanny unwilling or unable to see what she has been doing with Lenin is not an equivalent, but trying hard by saying it was Christmas Eve.
Thought Luz and the twins and Santa cute.
If this were Carloca from ENDA, though, we would know what Nueve's fate would have been at the outset.
I have a soft spot for all things Santa. I very much did the whole cookies thing, footsteps in the snow, one year even enlisting someone to help make the noises on the roof of the house. So seeing the fearsome threesome scoping out Santa was adorable to me and a nice touch by the writers.
Leon really needs to ditch that sourpuss face. Yish...right now it's hard to root for any of these young people. They need to all uncouple, get back to school and work and regroup. Argh!
I agree on the "who cares" on Angel's love life, but the late Christmas gift of the towel-clad galan was appreciated.
Nico needs to just whatever. Be a grandpa then and leave Jen alone. I don't like her with Johny, but Nico was a coward in how he treated her and he doesn't deserve her either. Not sure about that "gift" though from Johny--Merry Christmas, you just were gifted half of an unopened business. My debt and expenses are now your debt and expenses.Love and kisses.
Ok Ana-- you're engaged now and STILL haven't fessed up? So not good. (and if so, please ditch the uniform!)

And with that, she hits her head repeatedly on her office desk.

Loved how handsome Cesar Evora was in CS '93 and he played a really great guy. Look forward to watching more of his earlier telenovelas where he plays a good guy.
I fell in love with him in CS93. Wish he had more chances to play the good guys for a while. Now that he's 55 those days are mostly over.
in prev comment meant to say same guy who DOES voice over...
