Mí Corazon #142 -- Compromising Contrition
Cap 142
Soledad tells Magda that she blew it with Angel. He doesn’t lover her anymore and that he now
loves Ana. She says she knows that but
is truly sorry for what she put him through and really wants him back because
she still is very much in love with him.
The New Nando is looking pretty fine (considering what we had to
work with) according to Fanny. Lenin
suggests the glasses again because they made him look like the intellectual he
is. (Can it, you crazy commie kid!) Fanny finally tells Nando that they’re
worried because Edith’s been incognito for nearly 24 hours. They try her again on Nando’s phone and text
her. She responds--finally!!
Meanwhile, Vampira de Bela is dressed to kill and leaves to put the
bite on Johhhhhnny, the Gym Gem. Her maid,
Ramona, prays.
At los Lascurain, Yolanda explains to the skeptical Ana and
Fernando that she’s truly sorry for all the pain she’s caused them and theirs. Yo-mama says it was all to keep in her
daughter’s good graces. (Viewerville
screams at the screen that she’s got to do better than that! Granny's got to give up the goods on who Octo’s baby
daddy really is!) Ana doesn’t take her
seriously and drags Ferd into the library to discuss it.
At the same time, Sole is visiting now with Angel to give him the
411 on her two hour office visit with Magda.
Sole is convinced that Magda is truly repentant and that she has never
stopped loving him. He admits that his
love for Ana is platonic (er… as in ‘nominal’, 'satisfactory', 'spiritual only', or
all three?) And, yes, he’s well aware
her heart belongs to Fernando; and that he’s not certain if he loves Magda
really. The problem is, he confesses,
that whenever he sees her he cannot seem to forget the horrible thing she did
to him.
Bela arrives at Casa Jeni and Johnny, ready to jump Johnny’s
bones. He is weak in the knees and tries
explaining that he’s already got a great girlfriend. She invites herself in. (Let the bloodsucking begin!)
Back in the library of los Lascurain, Ana tells Ferd that her mama
once told her she’d had a long chat with Yo-low and that Yoli was actually
afraid of her daughter. No surprise
there per Ferd. They agree to give her a
second chance though, hoping she’ll eventually help them put a stop to Bela
once and for all. After
the convo is over, they allow Yo-low to see her little grandson before she leaves. The three youngest kids are spying from the
balcony, planning something of their own.
Seeing the house is empty, Bela knocks Johhny back onto his bed and
jumps him, ready for some kiss-and-no-tell.
Just as things are heating up, though, Jens walks back into the house
and sees the compromising position poor Johhny is now in. All Johnny’s pleading with Jens—and the
walloping slap she unloads on him--gives Bela the big high-‘n-mighty) a hell of
an emotional high, a sick one. She
finally gets in Jens’ face after denying any and all blame in the matter. She
and Jens exchange insults, but then Bela oversteps and tells her that her being
such a naca (as in low class, ignorant trouble-causing trash) is why Nico
decided to dump her ass. Jens hauls of
and lands a left (?) hook into Bela’s right eye and knocks her out.
The twins and Luz watch as
Yoli chats a bit with Octo, aka Diego Nicolas.
Ana warns against any mischief against an old lady, but as usual they
don’t listen. At the door they pull the
old hand-buzzer/shocker. (I couldn’t
understand the mumbling response Carmen gave.)
Yoli manages to turn the tables on the kids with some yarn or other and
fools them into trying it so that the three take hands and all shock each
other. (QTH???)
Fanny manages to get a text answered by Edith who she calls
immediately. Edi says she’s been at her
place, thinking etc. and yeah, they can come by. Fanny and Lenin race off. Bored bro de Nando decides it’s time to
finally open Xmas gifts from his two ex-girlfriends. He remembers their special romantic moments
as he does.
Xi spends time trying to read some of Nando’s quantum physics books
and realizes she’s way in over her head and might as well give it up. She doesn’t understand a word. She gives Fanny a call while Fanny’s at Edith’s. Edi’s been explaining that she feels left out
as well as dumped. Xi feels the same on
her end and hangs up on Fanny when she finds out where Fanny is at the
moment. Fanny calls her back and yells
at her and Edith that they’re both her best friends and she won’t stand for
their petti competition over friendship or Nando (?).
Sole finally returns to the manse and gives Ana the 411 on Angel
and Magda’s predicament. Ana is too
stuck on Ferd to do more than preen over the fact that Angel has a crush on
her. Sole reminds her of her New Year’s
resolution to tell Ferd the truth about dancing at El Chicago. So, Ana tells her mama about the plan she and
Johnny and Jen have cooked up.
As for licenciado’d Leon, he tells the gang in his department at
work that he has graduated with honors.
Red, the Lady Boss, give him a huge hug.
Laura notes this jealously and says it seems like Lady Boss has the hots
for him. He turns his nose up and says not a
chance. Just to make sure, Laura goes
over to her desk and warns her off “her” Leon.
“—He’s mine!” Red snickers back
and says nope. He is property of Fanny
Lascurain. “—That ring a bell?” And with that, Laura has been dissed and dismissed
Big Time!
Back at the manse, while Ana prays for a way to finally escape her
double life without losing Fernando and the kids, Ferd tells Nando that he
needs his help with Ana. Simple, says
Nando. Just propose!

Loved the whole Yolanda visit from the apology to the hand buzzerds. I especially enjoyed her not missing the opportunity for "una tequiita". Interesting that Ana thinks that they may get her to help "frenar la tarántula" " put the brakes on the tarantula--Isabella.
If this were not a comedy, Jennifer would have should have kicked Johnny to the curb after his Isabella adventure where he was literally powerless in the face of her growly lust for him.
So, Angel describes his feelings for Ana as platonic. Sure.

I will enjoy the recap a little while later, but have to say my fav moment was Ana and her accent pulling Fernando away from Yomama.

Jarifa, i am with you... Angel describing his feelings for Ana as platonic is beloney... one thing is platonic love, another different thing is to love deeply but knowing you have no chance, or not going after it. He ALREADY told Ana, didn't he? so it is not platonic/secret.

On another note IsaBitch is a friggin Amazon isn't she? I saw her in "I love John Querendon" years ago. No wonder she married Santamarina, they look normal together since he is the size of an NFL lineman. Liked the instant black eye. :-)

Nobody's buying Angel's love is platonic. Magda knows, Soledad knows and Ana knows and she can pretend all she wants.
So Ana has refined her plan, now its a film and a prayer.
It's no surprise Jenny rolled over, Ana was still begging Juan after he cheated and he had both Dana and Edna and they both knew. What a stud.

It's actually quite funny that Isabitch is now the victim of her own hormones. Makes for a good distraction.
Loved watching Ramona pray for Yomama. I think she is en route to redemption but can't fault Ana and the Lascurains for being suspicious.
Laura made a total fool of herself in Leon's office. Glad to see Leon in a jacket with long sleeves.

Thanks, Jardinera. Not much happened last night, except that the Johnny-Jenny combo seems stronger than ever, having survived La Trantula.
I agree about the hijinx. How impolite to shock a guest in that way, even if the guest is La Bruja Mayor. And neither Fernando nor Ana reacts as a parent should.
Nando looks quite cute but I, too, want him to put on his glasses. It's not a question of him looking more intellectual, as per Lenin, but just that he looks like he can't quite see! The actor has captured exactly what it feels like to wear contacts for the first time.
Fanny should forget about her suitors and her friends and go do her homework! Nothing is breaking quite right for her and her whole life lies ahead of her. It has all been said by so many of us!
I was trying to think about how differently the Ana part might have been played and still be effective. A little less screaming, a little more logic and concentration, the same love for the children? Would that have been possible or even believable?

Then you grab two tubes or cylinders and he raises the voltage. It really gets funny when everybody grabs each other and the electricity passes through everyone until you tell him to take the voltage down a bit. Then you can free yourself. So the Lacuráin kids and Fernando try the toque trick. It was funny.

I do agree that Nando is not yet comfortable with his new image. I also suspect that contacts are a bit uncomfortable at first. I've never needed them; I'm still on off-the-rack reading glasses because both sets of parental DNA had great vision included. I don't mind wearing reading glasses, but it still feels like I've lost bragging rights about vision...

I agree that Ana and Fernando were WRONG in just joining the 'toques' prank by the boys on Yomama. As much harm as she had done to Ana and the kids, she came to appologize and make ammends and she is, all other set aside, an elderly woman who would possibly get health issues with voltage going through her like that. Besides, as parents, Fernando most of all, should have said something to the clones.
Tofie, I could not agree more on Ana asking Fanny to help her with Dorofeo. Totally over the line and over the state border if you ask me. And if Fernando finds out, it will be ONE MAJOR point against Ana, to put HIS kids in eopardy to solve HER situation.

Thanks Jardinera, had to wait and watch this afternoon after getting off early from work.
First, enough with the pranks. At this point, this is getting to be obsessive behavior with the kids. In the real world, which Osorio claimed he was trying to reach out to his young audience, this should be addressed by the parent or adults way better than we see here. This won't just magically stop just because they get older and they are implanting a belief that mom or dad will always snigger on the side and bail them out or the punishments will be half-baked.
As for Fanny...hurrah!! I had the exact same situation being pulled between two friends once, and no matter what they say, there really is intent by the two people to make the poor person caught in the middle take the side of one over the other, even when it's not their business. I basically let them have it too and that scene just made me smile.
As for the young professional,Leon is still showing all in with Laura to those around him. Not like he told her to stop kissing or seemed embarrassed. Sure, don't like what she said to the boss, but he's no saint in all this. I know I know...he and Fanny are most likely end game and I have to just suck it up. I just don't like him that much anymore and I use to love the guys at the start of this.
Don't like Magda. I'd rather see Angel wind up with no one and or right at the end meet someone really wonderful than be stuck with her. Just something about the character just rubs me wrong.
I can't on Johny and Jen no matter how they are writing him now. I just keep feeling like she's always going to be dealing with his goof ups, his schemes, the flirting, the begging for forgiveness...in Osorio's world, I guess she will have the consolation of a baby. Move to the U.S. Jen, you can do single parent adoption.
From the preview, I'll be doing my signature "Head Desk" when Ana confronts Doro. Why she thinks this will work is beyond me.

Bluefan, that might be where they were going with with his new look with the hair puffed up like that. Ana did make the direct point that he did not look like his dad in the eye color since Fernando's eyes are black and Nando's are beautiful bright blue.

I'm not a huge fan of Nando's new look. I approve of relaxing the hair and clothes instead of the uptight slicked look, but his hair is now too sticky-uppy and with the popped open collar, he's verging into the "sleazy jerk" look. Put the silly collar down. Also I don't know why he needs contacts. He just looks uncomfortable. There is nothing wrong with glasses; maybe he should have just gotten some stylish new frames.
Poor Jen must be SO DESPERATE for a baby to put up with Johnny. I couldn't believe she was smooching him after catching him with Isa like that. Sure, Isa was doing some aggressive seducing, but he didn't exactly resist, and we know that whatever else he lacks (EVERYTHING), he has enough muscle to push her away.
It's too bad Edith isn't a little older and Angel a little younger. I want her to be happy, but Nando isn't really that great a catch for her. He's only 17. She could use someone a little more mature, who can distinguish between love and whatever tortured nonsense Nando has had going on with Ximena.

I agree with Julia about Nando's makeover... a bit too extreme Fonzie style... ease off the hair and better frames would be a good middle ground.
If Yomama no longer wants to live with Isa... then why still keep Isa's secret from Fernando about the baby daddy identity? because she does not want to harm Isa either? so she is wishy washy??

Enjoyed this recap so much, especially when I missed half of the episode due to work. I am loving Baby Diego Nicolas' nick name, Octo! And Isa being Octo mom! lol
The relationships in this TN have been so frustrating, disturbing and annoying. I liked Leon at first but when we found out he has a kid, that killed it for me. Fanny is just too young for that. Leon's freak out after his marriage proposal was turned down really made me dislike him completely. I'm team Lenin or team no bf for Fanny, she needs to focus on school.
Then there's Nando. Ugh. Edith seems like an excellent match for him, she's intellectual, into the same things, she's unique like Nando and we think we've gotten rid of Ximena and she has to come back. I have never liked her character. At the start of this TN she was the bitchy, spoiled, bimbo, rich girl, telling Fanny not to date Leon cause he's poor and Laura was the understanding friend. What happened? She's still the same girl to me. I really hope Nando comes to his senses and sees that he will be happier with Edith. I'm also with those of you that think Edith is better off with someone else, Lenin perhaps? But of course that would mean Fanny and Leon end up together. :( As for the rest: Jen and Johnny= blegh, Isa and Johnny= meh, Magda and Angel = who gives an F?, and Fernando and Ana = come clean and get married already.

She would need to admit to being part -- or even the architect -- of Isa's gold-digging plan.

Anyone see Leon with Perla (his boss) instead of with Fanny or Laura? Laura even mentioned to Leon that she could see Perla was attracted to him and he giggled but i think his facial language showed a bit of flattery/blush about it too... Does anyone else see a chance of them ending up together?
Lilly, love your last line 'as for the rest:...' ITA. I want the kids to end up alone, esp Nando and Alicia... they are just not old enough and not mature enough to really know... and i would piggy back Fanny there too, but per the credits we have no chance of her and Leon not ending together.

I want to see Leon grow up a bit and have a little patience about Fanny. She needs to make the grade and get her career started. She shouldn't have parental responsibilities yet, but Mauricio doesn't look like a difficult child and there is Margarita to help.
Nando does need room to grow. He hasn't even started college yet! But girls a couple of years older will pursue him because he's smart and has a rich dad. No better prediction than that for a good future.

Why is Laura always allowed to hang around at La Costeña? To quote Mean Girls, "She doesn't even go here!" Those people are supposed to be working! And isn't she supposed to be in school? Or has she decided Leon is her new meal ticket so she doesn't need to go anymore? I thought she wanted big money.
She might have arranged her classes to allow for this. We also don't know how far the campus is away from the office.

Bitch Laura confronted Perla to keep her gladpaws off her Leon. Perla looked at her like looks could kill.. and informs BitchLaura that Leon is actually still in love with F A N N Y. Then tells Leon his girlfriend is not welcome in Costena. Cha Ching.
I had begun to think Laura worked at the bean factory as she was there all the time wearing a badge. Apparently she was just a visitor. Little bitch is nervie isn't she? Hanging out at your "boyfriend's" work all day every day. Then getting in his boss' face to not get any romantic ideas....WOW. Thank You Perla. Youshould have called security and had her removed.
