Mi corazon es tuyo #140 Smile, Dorofeo!! you're on Dana Camera!! ... Ana and Bruno with the switched flower arrangement cards... and Nando gets a makeover

Refritos:

Ana is sending the kids off to school. Zeus is a bit distracted drooling for Manuela.

Fanny won’t let Ximena come to the college with her to avoid any ugly confrontation with Edith, even though Ximena tells her she talked to Edith and told her she is not trying to take Nando from her.

Ana, Johnny and Jenny watch the camera monitor as Dana is taping Dorofeo and the lawyer who just arrived.

Lo Nuevo:

The broache recording is working well, Johnny and Ana are watching Dorofeo and his thugs in his office. Ana is praying and focusing, they are crossing fingers that Dorofeo will fall in the trap…

Fanny arrives at school, Lenin starts reciting some poem from Octavio Paz (according to the teacher who is not amused at Lenin’s skill in reciting poems)… Fanny is not amused either and even gets reprimanded by the teacher for talking to Lenin.

Leon has arrived to present his thesis and his oral professional exam. He is obviously nervous.

Fernando is waiting for the meeting time, meanwhile he asks Betty to order flowers to arrive at the house for Ana EVERY DAY!!!... he also has a bit of fun with Betty and her relationship with Bruno ‘I get it… “I have everything to do with Bruno”’…

Meanwhile said Bruno is in the kitchen totally zoned out thinking of Betty while Zeus is flirting at Manuela right in his face. Zeus points to Manuela that Bruno seems to not care much about her…

At Chicago, the lawyer asks for a bigger pay for his services so Dorofeo can keep the Chicago open, “you know, inflation”. After some negotiation and rant, Dorofeo gives in and hands him a whole stack of money. Ana and Johnny are celebrating that they finally got Dorofeo where they want him. Jen is watching the door of the dressing room.

Isa arrives at the office, Fernando questions her on her state of mind… ‘are you really ok? Yesterday at the house you were acting… to say the least… wacko’. She gets a bit miffed that he questions her state of mind or her work quality. Hissabella gets Johnny’s full name from Fernando. Seems this is not Fernando’s best mood day… Torres arrives late and Fernando is a bit miffed about that and is not quiet about it…

Ana and Johnny and Jenny get a scare when one of Dorofeo’s thugs comes in the dressing room and seems to have spotted something in Johnny’s hands but Ana finds a way to cover it up with clothes and hide it from sight. After the guy leaves, they talk about Ana being Fernando’s gf and Jenny is a bit jealous that she has no one to call her his gf.

Hissabella is talking on phone to the investigator and sends them to investigate a Juan Gutierrez, alias Johnny, who lives in Ecatepec.

Yomama is confessing at church, tells priest she has hurt some woman named Anita Leal because her daughter made her.

Leon arrives at Fanny’s college and is miffed to find her with Lenin.

Johnny has trouble copying the video from the laptop… they can’t even view it either… seems the laptop does not have the right register files to view that type of video file. Ana and Jenny are turning Johnny crazy panicked. Johnny is able the right driver from the internet… will they be able to watch the video? Stand by…

Lenin suddenly calls Fanny ‘bonita’ and she remembers her meeting with Leon when he called her #bonita. She won’t tell Lenin why she froze suddenly. As they walk out Leon comes in and stops them, he is bad tempered, for a change. She won’t talk to him, he demands they talk, you can’t throw ‘our thing’ to the garbage. She reminds him he is the one that did not want to talk to her again after the drive-in incident. Leon then turns to Lenin trying to provoque him asking how does it feel to date a girl who loves another. Suddenly Mau shows up… (why was he there? Unless Leon planned this all along). Mau tells Fanny that Leon passed with honors, then Leon leaves with Mau.

Now at the casita, Johnny finally is ready to show the girls the video… aaaaaaaaaaaandd….. YESSSSS!!! There’s audio and video!! Johnny says ‘este arroz ya se cocio, Ana!’ (this rice is cooked, meaning it’s a done deal!) Jenny asks Ana now what do we do with this [video]? Ana doesn’t know, from her reaction… (how about giving it to the police??)

Still at church, Yomama is repeating ‘its not my fault!, padre!, because I raised her this way… well, I spoiled her this way… and it all began when my husband died… and then my world collapsed. He was so good to me… and he died… then I took it on my daughter. She was at a critical age… and now I understand/admit that I turned my daughter into what she is now…

Hissabella still on phone with the investigator. She is in a hurry, she needs his report ASAP. She tells herself that this time the ‘fourth grade nacko’ won’t be able to resist her. (I guess she is planning to go to his house).

Ana is a bit disjointed nervous, has to go back to the house. She hugs both Jenny and Johnny goodbye. Ana reminds Johnny to talk to Jenny about you know what. Ana leaves. Jen feels like thanking Johnny in a more intimate way.

Fanny and Lenin are at Edith’s apartment, but no one answers their door knocks. Fanny is a bit impatient about finding out if Edith is ok.

Laura is visiting Leon’s house. Reina does not know anything about how he did in his test. Leon arrives with Mau. He tells the whole family that he did great. Leon announces to all that ‘now I am a Licenciado!’ Group hug of Leon+Mau+Margarita+Reina+Laura

Flowers arrive at the house. Zeus has two flower arrangements. He mocks saying he bought them for Manuela. (there are 2 flower arrangements, not 1). Ana arrives and Zeus gives her the flowers. She reads the first note… her finger is covering the name… and the note seems like it could be from Betty to Bruno … somehow does not sound like Fernando’s style.

Yomama is still at confession booth. Priest says the only way to relieve the guilt is to ask for forgiveness from the bottom of her soul… with all her heart.

Ana has brought a friend of hers to do Nando’s makeover. They are doing this in Nando’s room. With haircut, clothes, etc. Ana warns the girl not to do anything radical or military on him, but he will no longer use glasses or bowties. (be afraid, Nando… be VERY Afraid…) Ana is thinking of the wording of that card she read… (I will laugh out loud if that was not for her, which is what I am guessing…)

Soledad is visiting Magda on her request… Soledad tells her what Angel told her about his conversations with Magda. Soledad gets confirmation that Magda wants to get back with Angel.

At the green casita, Johnny tells Jen he is making a backup of the video… He wants Jenny to stay with him.

Isa gets a call from the investigator. He already has Johnny’s address. She writes down the address. Fernando comes back. He is arguing with her about some of the figures they went over at the meeting. As she walks back to her desk, she mocks what Fernando was saying to her about his expectations of Rate of return.

At the homework room, Ana is telling the twins, Luz and Alicia that Nando is getting a makeover. They all are daydreaming Nando becomes a rock band player even more radical in his looks than Edith… with huge colored spikes in his hair and tattoos, the whole nine yards. They all run to see Nando.

Fernando arrives home. He sees the flower arrangements.

Nando is done with his makeover. The five younger ones are surprised… and so am I!! a bit radical, he looks like a blonde young Elvis Presley.

Fernando comes upstairs and runs into Ana in hallway. She starts body silently flirting to him about the ‘fantasy’ the card was talking about.

Just like I was suspecting, The one with the flirty card was Betty’s for Bruno. He grabs the envelope on the other one. Betty is precisely telling Bruno that the card on the one for him is a bit special intimate of them.

Ana is still acting weird to Fernando and he just doesn’t get it.

Bruno reads the card to Betty on phone… Betty figures out that Ana got the wrong card.

Fernando is reading the card for Bruno. He tells Ana he did not write it. She wants him to keep reading ‘do you like fantasies?... I have come up with one for tonight, my love.’ Bruno arrives running to trade cards with Ana. Fernando is a bit taken by surprise. Ana is visibly and orally disappointed with the boring card from Fernando (for the prettiest woman in the universe, I love you, Fernando) in comparison with Bruno’s hot, passionate fantasy theme. Fernando is more than willing to ‘come up with something for tonight’.

Alicia, Sebas and the little ones approve Nando’s makeover.

Ana is about to show Fernando something that will make him fall backwards (te va a dejar de a seis) Ladies and gentelemen… with us… Fer..Nando!! Fernando is in shock… actually pretty pleased… he says Nando looks very handsome, he looks like his mother. The twins see the xmas presents from Ximena and Edith. Nando won’t let them open them. The twins and Luz leave with Siete.

Fernando on phone with Betty who keeps apologizing for ordering the flowers for Bruno as she placed his order. She feels embarrassed. He says no worries… by the way, she gave him some good ideas. Finally Ana finds out which is her flowers and gives Fernando a few kisses.

Fanny and Lenin arrive, she is alarmed since she can’t find Edith. Fernando will help find her. Ana suspects Edith is just sad so she wanted to stay away for a while.

Johnny is sending Ana a piece of the video clip to her phone. Johnny warns Ana that when Dorofeo sees the video, he will know Dana was involved, so they FINALLY realize they have to get Dana out of there and to a safe place.

Ana has the GREAT (not!!) idea of using the video to blackmail Dorofeo into letting her walk away, instead of getting the police involved because there are other people who work there and she does not want to harm them. Ana explains to Johnny and Jenny that if the Chicago is closed, they would end up leaving a bunch of coworkers out of a job.

Fernando comes to kitchen with Fanny and Lenin… At least they know Edith is not at any hospital or jail. Ana repeats her theory that Edith just does not want to be found.

Johnny has an idea, so that no one ends up job-less at the Chicago, they can hire them at the workshop. But they realize the workshop school is not open yet.

Yomama has arrived to the Lasc mansion(Ana opened the door, Fernando is a few steps away) to ask Ana for forgiveness. Ana and Fernando both almost fall back at her announcement.

Preview: Isa charges Johnny at the casita… and Jenny arrives home to a scene…

Meanwhile Yomama has come to apologize, but could there be a perverse plan behind that?

Thanks, Marta, for the enjoyable recap.

The flower/message mixup was totally predictable but was funny and well dome.

Can't wait to see what Yolanda has to say on her "contrition" tour.

Jarifa

Thank you MartaIvett! Your big, detailed recap appearing so soon after the show ends is always a delight!

I am still rooting for Leon, but his black moods are not doing him any favor with Fanny. Maybe he will end up with Reina.

Same goes for Edith; I really liked her character, before she got all jealous and insecure.

Go, Nando--the makeover was great. Wonder which of his girlfriends is going to see him first?

J in Oregon

Marta, what a great recap. Thanks for putting it up so soon.

So the opening theme song was Not the banda music but the Axel/Kaay song again. What gives with that? All the publicity for the banda song and they immediately took it down after only one night? Wonder what happened there?

I liked the predictable flower/card mix up. Sometimes Fernando is so genuine in his reaction to things that I think he really is cracking up inside over his lines.

Sorry I'm not going with the flow, but I do NOT like Lenin AT ALL. To me he is just a phony ego- headed immature punk. Yes, Leon isn't perfect either, but I like him better anyway.

I cracked up laughing at Nando's punk rock scene. So funny, great costume and hairdo, so PUNK!!

In México it seems as if they have kept the Axel/Kaay song for the opening and put the banda music as the closing theme. At least that is what I noticed while watching tonight's episode which aired in Mexico.

Thank you so much, martaivett! You are a GEM!

As always, just great Marta!

Last night had those moments I actually thought to myself, now this show would be so much better if they did more of that. The moments like Nando getting his makeover with the twins' image of their new brother made me sad that if they had just hooked up Ana and Fer earlier without the Chicago secret still going, could have been cute to see the parents dealing more with "family" type issues as the kids grow.

Just tired of the Chicago angst. And NOW they think of Dana. Love Johny thinking he's just going to hire everyone from the club. No idea how to run a business do you? But watch, Osorio will show it be a huge success. Head Desk.

I'm baffled on this whole Fanny/Leon/Lenin plot. Are we supposed to think an aggressive, sour looking young guy is supposed to be appealing? And he is not exactly staying away from anyone either, macking on Laura now with enjoyment, yet he gets all over Fanny for being with Lenin. Yeah, get over yourself and if you can't talk to your ex with some sense of calm and trying to work it out intelligently, why would we root for them as end game. I want all the kids to break up with their love interest by the end!!

I've seen this whole issue of extreme jealousy in TN dramas through the years with the galan, so is this actually a trait in a guy that isn't looked on as a negative in the culture? Kind of goes with a more macho, manly demeanor? Just wondering, because I get baffled why this is a constant trait and these guys win their girl.

I like Nando's look but yeah, tone the hair poof down just a little. At least they didn't spike it.

Love it Marta.

I feel like I'm watching the Adrian Uribe Show and Jonny is Juan Osorio's alter ego. I don't care how many of the women he beds, I'm not buying it.

The Betty and Bruno relationship is stupid, though I liked the mix up with the bouquet notes. What a difference a few words make.

Yeah, Nando got a make over, wish though he'd cut both those older girls out too.

Leon being Leon. Bothers me too, this macho man (cave man) behavior, and for the life of me cannot understand a woman responding romantically, fearfully yes, romantically, no.

So, the plan wasn't really a plan, and this what Ana has hung everything on so she doesn't have to tell Fernando she makes a fool of him daily. Hmmmm

Wonder if Yomama's confession and acts of contrition extend to what she and her daughter perpetrated upon Fernando?

Odds that Edith & Leon get anvils!

DaisynJay,
"Head Desk. "
Brilliant picture suggestion phrase. will have to remember that one.

btw DaisynJay, i am totally with you on Leon's attitude from the get go last night... why the heck did he go to her school for? to instigate a fight with Lenin over Fanny? really?? Seriously?? Wasn't Leon himself who said if you won't marry me i don't want anything to do with you, and then went off to slurp around with Laura?? double standards, heh???
same for all the kids... i not only am sad Osorio did not go with the wedding midway and allow us to enjoy the family scenario dealings and funny moments, but this second half is purely IDIOTIC and lacking foundation of any logical thinking on the leading lady.
So now what will you do about Dana? put up the money for security guards for her 24/7?

btw, someone had said something about Ana's loan terms... Remember Dorofeo slapped in her face that it did not matter the terms of time because she was his star at Chicago so she would be bound indefinitely, esp when she had to borrow more money for Jen's surgery. ... so there is no way in heck Dorofeo would honor any contract terms or loan terms... he is not willing to let Ana go from Chicago even if she works 10 years for him... he would only let her go when she can't attract the clientele anymore (her poledancing skill, physical shape, and/or beauty start to give a bit)

after the finale I will surely miss the 'family' phase after midterm wedding that worked so well in other novelas.
Besides, teh way they have played with Ana having no backbone and Fernando being taken for a ride makes me have serious doubts on their potential to be happily ever after... no matter what.

Good work, Marta.

Nando's makeover was long overdue and it's a good one. This kid deserves to have more self-confidence and shed the "nerd" look. He could change the entire perception of nerds!

The Beatriz and Bruno relationship doesn't make sense unless you contrast it with Ximena or Edith and Nando: Bruno is safe. He's a good person who won't intentionally hurt anyone. Beatriz was emotionally abused by Enfrique who used her for sex and nothing else. He also didn't treat her respectfully in the office. So we have a 50-year-old virgin getting his first freak on with a 30-something woman of experience who has been abused by a man closer to her age. The fortunate thing is that Beatriz somehow seems emotionally healthy despite Enfrique's abuse of her. Contrast her with Ximena and Edith, both of whom have suffered abuse and haven't had time or help in getting over it. I'm still not believing that Ximena will be completely alright.

So shouldn't we expect Bruno to dye his hair black and get contacts?

More later.

Agree Marta. This is like a hail Mary pass from your own 1 yardline. Instead of the teen cutesie and sexual innuendo of Ana's current interactions why can't she have a serious, honest conversation with him. Like she resorts to her old self and what works with patrons of the club. Its obvious she is clueless in an adult relationship.

Many, many thanks, Marta. I was watching with one eye last night and missed a few details.

I guess I am warming a bit to Lenin. For all of his intellectual bluster (loved the teacher's reference to his butchering of Octoavio Paz' poetry), he is willing to follow Fanny around like a puppy. He doest push in ugly ways and is her accomplice in all of her efforts to save the world. She could do worse! I am for NO permanent boyfriends at 19, but last night Lenin looked better to me than Leon.
However, after last night I am convinced that Fanny and Leon will end up together, but not married.

Marta -- I think Mau was there just because the family went to the thesis hearing, which is very common in Central America and I am guess in Mexico, too. It is sweet to see families all dressed up, with flowers for their star. So I am gathering that Leon walked over to the classroom from the hearing room and Mau followed him.

I loved that miraculously the recording worked but the three spies hadn't thought out what to do with it. I agree that it is not going to result in much of a change for Ana.

" feel like I'm watching the Adrian Uribe Show and Jonny is Juan Osorio's alter ego. I don't care how many of the women he beds, I'm not buying it."

Dead on. I could almost see a younger Osorio buffed up more being pretty close to Uribe in looks. On the flip side, it sure shows women being desperate that they think this guy is the living end and he has had pretty much every female between 21 and 50 in this lusting after him. Comedy or not, the character/actor makes no sense as a chick magnet.

Good point Marta on reminding us of Doro's terms with Ana. Honestly, now, if she's using this just for herself, how naive can she be that she really thinks he would buy she would go to the cops with the info. All he would have to do is threaten to spill to Fer and she's got nothing. Ana has a heart of gold, but sometimes she's not too bright on how she thinks things through.

Daisynjay

Tofie, considering that Johnny isn't an adult in any true psychological sense of the word, I can easily imagine Ana being used to that. She was involved with him for four years prior to the opening episode.

As for how to protect Dana, they could whisk her out of town to house-sit for Soledad in El Oro before going to the police with that video.

Agree about Juan, his level of maturity and Ana settled for that and a baseline . What I hoped, is with her metamorphosis, she'd grow up a bit more. She is close to mid 30's. She can be so astute, dealing with the problems the kids have (with or without Fernando), or even giving counsel to Angel, but once she gets around the club or folks from the club, she falls into stupid mode. Maybe it's, you can take her out of the club but you can't take the club out of Ana.

One more thing: As to the employees at Chicago I wonder how much money Dorofeo owes them from underpayment and whatever else.

Ana's best escape plan in conjunction with this would probably be to get pregnant.

Love it UA. It would work.

Great recap!

I like Lenin much more than Leon at the moment. At least he gives Fanny time and space.

It would be nice if Yomama confessed to everything but that's not gonna happen. Though I think it would be interesting if, all on the same day, Fer finds out that DN is not his son but Freeky's, Ana works at Chicago and Isa is the one that hurt Sebs. If would be awful for Fer but I could understand if he went ballistic on everyone.

You know what, Carvivlie, you are on to something. If that happened, it would be one of the few honest and believable things happening in this TN.

5 years from now, I wonder how Silvia Navarro will feel about this role?

Fatima

We either have the raging bull--Leon--or the puppy dog with his tongue hanging out--Lenin.

Neither really work for me, but Lenin with his over eagerness to please is just too much of a wimp for me. As a strong women, I would prefer for my partner to have the strength of character to keep me in check every once in awhile, but with reason, not by the pushing and grabbing of an immature Leon nor by the slobbering lapdog of Lenin.

Fanny doesn't even know who she is or what she wants to do with her life. Why the rush to be hooked up and constrained by a guy at her age?

Both her and Nando need to get away from their usual rigid lives, being responsible for their little brothers and sisters. They need to separate themselves from the younger group in order to find out which is the direction they want to take in their life and which direction is best.

No matter what I do, it double posts. Sorry. I'll keep trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong all of a sudden.

QUESTION:

This isn't "Pretty Women " or a fairytale, so is it reasonable to ask if an educated, successful businessman of Fernando's social class would make a good match with a somewhat raw, boisterous naive woman like Ana?

I just read a recent study that showed thst a majority of men want and have no trouble having a partner smarter than they are and making more money than they do.

True/False/Unbelievable?

I guess we need to ask ourselves who will change more or whether Ana and Fernando can meet in the middle.

While he isn't as stiff as he was when they first met she definitely still needs more refinement. Right now she still reminds me of Eliza Doolittle on Ascot Opening Day.

In private what does it matter but socially, Ana has a long way to go. Much of her behavior cringe worthy and rude to others around her. It's a shame because when people get to know her they find her kind and sweet but many would be turned off (I would) with a loud mouthed adult talking over everybody. It's not even cute in a kid.

Ana has farther to go than Fernando does at this point, however when he finds out he's been deceived, he may retreat into his shell again and become a grumpy mid aged man.

It does matter in private because it is virtually impossible to refine oneself for a default public image if you're letting yourself be crude in private. The likelihood of slipping up at the wrong time is too great.

Just like the adorable Audrey Hepburn at the Ascot races in My Fair Lady--as you mentioned, UA :)

Maybe part of the reason she hasn't progressed as far is because she does spend most of her time with children.

Nanette, I like your point re Ana only spending time with the children. Who else is there to guide her? Jenny and Johnny? I think not.

Fatima

Fatima: how about Bruno or Manuela? ;)

IE: Something like "You can take the girl out of the whorehouse, but...." yup.. Sorry, watched a couple of buddies try it over the years, (in real life)
