Well, after watching Friday's episode I think it's safe to say that- if there wasn't already before- there's a special spot in hell reserved for Macaria (right beside Fausto & Lucio, of course...).

None of this would have happened- to Mia, to Simona, to Lucio, to everyone- were it not for her and her insatiable greed.

You are exactly right Stevey. Macaria is contemptible and "insatiable greed" describes her perfectly.

And while we are at it, perhaps we should put a "reservation pending" sign for Marcellino so he can join the despicable three?

What a terrible tragic turn of events for Simona. At least she told Barragan the truth.

We knew Diana is devious, a liar and a cheat. But her total, complete indifference to Mia's death did surprise me. Not as much as it did Mateo though! He finally realizes what a cold blooded creature he married.

A bad night for Julio. I'm looking forward to reading the recap as to who recognized him and what the conversation was.

Looking forward to your recap Count!

Diana

Diana, Eli will be recapping as ussual not me.Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks Count, looking forward to Eli's recap! And appreciate all the work you are putting into this too.

Diana

Just watched my recording. Simona is in deep doo doo, and Max is holding the evidence that can clear her. Even if he doesn't want to turn in his father's knife, he could at least say he saw the masked mugger running off. What a jerk.

I knew from the very first day that Max came into town that he wasn't a good guy. Whether he is on team bad or not, this guy just plain isn't good. He's got an attitude, a big attitude. He could or should be a brother to Lardo over in Sombra. That guy has a big attitude problem also.

That ex Mayor Marcellino is a shady guy. I wouldn't vote for him to be Mayor of my town. He's friends with Devil Dog Fausto, that says a lot.

I can't wait for the recap as I don't see why Simona is in trouble. She talked with Mia and gave Mia the blackmail money (no one around the town square knew that) Anyway Mia left and got robbed and killed. How was a robbery Simona's fault?

For the life of me I don't understand why Ren and Abi live with Fausto. Abi has her nice rancho and hacienda so why doesn't Abi take Renata and move out? It's simple.

I also can't wait to find out what the big conversation was about Friday night---Abi's adoption? What part did Macaria play in it all? It looked like she was starting to cry.

I wish that side good would start to wise up to Devil Dog but I guess that it's a little too early for that.
the gringo

Gringo- Simona is in trouble because Marcelino's wife knows that Mia was blackmailing Simona, and the big dummy told her husband. So, when Mia ended up dead, next to Simona, with no mugger in sight, and no one (not even lying Max) having seen anything, Marcelino flat out accused Simona of the murder and told everyone standing there and the cops that Mia was blackmailing Simona. His wife reluctantly backed him up, and Simona refused to lie. But she also refused to tell anyone WHY Mia was blackmailing her. Needless to say, it doesn't look good.

As for the stupid adoption, Abi refused because she says she's proud to be Macaria's and Pablo's daughter the daughter of a servant and a peon. Mac was shedding fake tears to increase the emotional blackmail of Abi so that she would refuse the adoption-- therefor hurting Renata and ruining Fausto's plans (Mac's favorite things to do). If we had any doubts that her tears were perhaps real, as soon as Abi kissed her goodnight, Mac wiped her tears away and called Abi stupid.

I'm not Max's biggest fan but I think in fairness, he was horrified.

Arrogant, conceited, with a brusque, combative, cold personality? Yes. And as much as I don't care for him, I do admire he has stuck up for his father to Fausto, with a clearly scathing demeanor. Something no one else seems to have the guts to do.

But he knew in the moment he collided with the murderer that it was his father. A terrible position for any child. If push comes to shove, I don't know what he will do...

Not understanding the language, I'm not quite sure where the case against Simona is at this point (other than Marc's wife confirming Simona was being blackmailed). It seemed as though Barragan released Simona, but maybe it was just to speak with Tono or just temporarily?

The adoption was a hare brained move, beneath Renata - ITA Vivi. Abi's blind devotion to Macaria is so misplaced and utterly sad.

Diana

Good analysis of the situation with Max, Diana. It's a hard call to make if he will turn on Lucio. Wasn't he willing to off his uncle? But turning on Lucio might be different. He seems to be decent friends with Tono, though, and would have to watch Tono's mom go down for something she didn't do.

So Lucio didn't think it was right to take money from Max, but killing a woman and framing another is okay. The world according to Lucio. Scary.

I don't see why Macaria must hate on Abi so much. I suppose she is jealous that Abi responded to Ren's loving affection, affection that Mac can't give, so Abi doesn't feel the same toward Mac, and it shows. But none of that is Abi's fault.

Diana was so cold about her aunt's death. I can see her putting her own interests first, of course, but the women seemed to care for each other and were hanging together. The Tia was very supportive of Diana (not necessarily a good thing in the bigger scheme of things) but Diana couldn't spare even an upset look, let alone a tear? I feel like the writers are going a bit too far with the antagonista role. She should still act like a human being.

Vivi, that's what I had thought about Mac's crying during the adoption interview, but I wasn't sure. She is so selfish, and that was so mean to call Abi estupida.

So Simona told Barragan the whole tale, and I think she is out on personal recognizance after that.

TN4ever,
Regarding Diana's reaction upon hearing if her demise, it simply was not realistic. Even if she didn't feel that bad, or anything at all, it seems she wouldv'e feigned a fake tear,
If anything so she would get comforted by Matt, to gain sympathy. Just didnt seem realistic reaction, at all, someone dropped the ball on that.

TN4ever and Novella Lover, if Diana truly felt nothing about Tia's demise (and clearly, it seems that was the case), one would think she would TRY to conjure up some sign of grief!

Is having her coldness and callousness part of the plan to reign Mat in? Sister, let me tell you, it ain't working! Mat looked as though he were seeing her for the first time. And now, the blinders are off!

Diana

ITA. That was really badly played by Diana, if she truly is an unfeeling wench. But also bad writing by the writers who are making her act stupid. If she really is that unfeeling, she would try to hide it and pretend in front of Mateo. But it would have been better to have her actually feel the loss of her Tia who has been her friend and accomplice all these years. Even Lucio feels something for his own flesh and blood! I guess this makes her more like Fausto who doesn't seem to give a damn about his nephew/son Mateo, and ordered the death of his own brother.

Diana- You are kinder to Max than I am. I still think he could have kept the knife and the identity of the mugger hidden, while still acknowledging the existence of the mugger who ran into him as he was fleeing. Backing up Simona's story would not have automatically revealed his father as the killer.

Another Diana observation, did anyone take notice that she was flurting with her cousin, and coquettishly asked him if he remembered their litlle trysts when they were younger? Julian stormed off. She must be nympo or just very damaged because Gausto had reminded Mis that she had sold her niece to him.
