Caray, Caray!

Abigail tells Renata that there is nothing in the world she wouldn’t forgive.  Ren’s happy to hear that.  Let’s hope she doesn’t forget that in the future and that Abi doesn’t feel she has to eat her words later on.  Abi also mentions that she knows Macaria is not her real mother.  She says Mac made sure to tell her that she was just some orphan left on the streets.  Ren is angry to hear it and finally has the courage to tell her daughter not to believe one word more that comes out of that woman’s mouth.  She was NOT taken off the streets somewhere.  If she wants to know the whole truth then she’ll tell it all to her the next morning at the river where she and Pablo began their love affair and where, for Abigail, it all began.  She doesn’t want anyone else to hear them.



Ximena has invited Padre Tomas over to supposedly discuss her depression over the loss of hubby, Porfirio.  She secretly slips a mickey into his wine.  When he passes out she has Toño taking pictures of her planting a kiss on him; later the next morning she’s in her negligee and makes him believe they spent a night of passion together.  She refuses to leave when he’s putting on his clothes, relishing in her humiliating him even further.  Tony doesn't like being a part of the ruse, but he’s Fausto’s hired assassin [sicario] now, having readily taken Lucio’s place and has no choice.  Fausto’s plan is to have something bad enough on the padre that he can manipulate him and so he's supposed to do everything that Xi orders him to do while carrying the plan out.

At the same time, Julian Montero is ready to leave for parts unknown with all the money that he had La Mano Negra transfer from the Cougar Sisters’ accounts.  When he goes into his wall safe to get the ready cash also, he finds a letter in there from his partner in crime saying he took it and he’ll never know where.  “—Sucker!!!”  As if that weren’t bad enough, Diana calls him to rub his nose in it.  “—By now you realize that your effiing friend transferred all your money to a foreign account in my name.”  “—You crazy oversexed bitch!  You’re going to pay for this!”  “—I doubt it.  If you’re in jail, I doubt there’s much you can do about it.  And the police should be there any minute now.”  Cue the sirens.  Cue the megaphones.  Julio Acosta, come out with your hands up or we’re coming in!”

A few minutes later, Fausto, DeeDee and La Mano Negra are meeting up at the back roads to town.  He is handing the cash over to Di and Fei thinking he’s going to head off to parts unknown in the new car Fausto’s given him and start over.  Feisty pulls a gun on him and shoots him in the forehead, takes the body and dumps it into the trunk.  He makes sure to take the bag full of the cash he’d stolen out of Juli’s safe and he and Diana get into his SUV.  Di thanks him for helping her get even with her cad of a cuz.  “--There’s nothing to thank me for.  You’re a key piece to my plan for vengeance.”  The car with the dead body explodes into flames as Fausto and Diana drive back to the Enramada.

Back in town, the cops are handcuffing Julian-lio just as the Cougar Sisters return from speaking to Comandante Barragan.  Each gets a turn at slapping the spit out of him.

The next morning, Max and Daniela, pretending again to be Ximena, are at the lawyers asking that Xiela gets the money her hubby left her right away.  Additionally, Max warns the guy against any tricks “Daniela” might play in order to steal some of that money for herself.  “—She’s very dangerous and we’ll pay whatever is necessary for you to speed along the paperwork and to insure that we avoid Daniela’s interference.”

At the same time, DeeDee walks into the living room at the Enramera to give Feisty his morning bit of sugar just as Mateo walks in for a discussion with Daddy Dearest about his intention to marry Abi.  Mat is disgusted and realizes that the affair never really ended at all.  Not to worry, Diana figures, the divorce is a done deal now anyway.  She heads to her room to get dressed and Mat flies all over his daddy over what he tried with Abi the other night.  Di overhears the wedding plans and swears she can never allow Abigail to marry Mateo.

While Mat and Feisty fight over Abi, Dee heads towards Ren’s hacienda on horseback to find Abi and sees Abi heading towards the river.  She secretly follows her.

Don’t go near Abigail, Mat warns his pusillanimous papi.  Feisty actually thinks he could have done the deed and won her over.  He accuses Mat of being jealous.  (This is so sick.  Why doesn’t Mat throw a few choice medical terms at the pervert and tell him how crazy sick the old fart sounds?)  Feisty threatens to do it again if he gets the chance.  He’ll get her to jump into bed with him.  He'll seduce his second wife just like he did with his first wife.  He demands respect for having given him his family name, raising him and educating him in the best schools, etc.  Mat reminds him that he didn’t do it for the other of his kids.  Who dat?  Diego of course.  

Mat’s disgusted with a man who wouldn’t recognize either of them as his son and who force Diego to slave for him to earn his living.  Mat and Fausto get into fisticuffs over his lack of respect for the man who made him who he is today.  Oh, yes, he remembers Irina and her beauty, he says, and he brags to Mat about how he managed to seduce her and dump in the dog pile afterwards.  She used to bathe nekkid in the river every day just at the time she knew he’d pass by—just like Abigail always did. As for Diego’s paternity, Fausto refuses to accept it.  Mat challenges him to get a DNA test.  Fei says nothin’ doin’ and says then if nothing else, it ain’t so cuz he sayz it ain’t!!   Fausto wins the cockfight as well as the pissin’ contest, unfortunately, and Mat leaves.

Back at the river, Diana sneaks up on Abi and pulls a gun on her.  Just as she’s about to shoot, Ren arrives, jumps in front of Abi, and takes the bullet Di meant for her daughter.  She’s knocked out and floating in the water, losing lots of blood.  Abi begs to save her.  Di says no way she’s going to let her save “mama”—yeah, she knows she’s Ren’s daughter.   Soon she can join mama in eternity!  Abi continues to beg to get her mother out of the water to help her, but each time she tries jumping into the water for Ren, like cat ’n mouse, Di shoots at her to keep her from it.  Finally, out of nowhere, Diego has heard and comes to Abi’s aid.  He jumps Diana and pins her to the ground.

Again at the river, Diego lets Di, who now thinks she’s killed Renata, run away.  Abi begs him to save her mama—yes she now knows the truth, she admits to him.  He and she pull Ren out of the river finally and they hobble off to the hospital.

At the hospital, Dr. Pats is the only doc available.  Diego and Abi beg him to operate and save Abi’s mother.  He is too afraid to do the surgery again on a loved one.  Xi is there and rubs his nose in his fear and in his being rotten surgeon who kills his kids.  Finally he manages to shoo the bitch out of the hospital and accepts that he’s the only one who can save Ren’s life since it will take Mat at least an hour or so to make it there.  Renata will not make it that long without surgery.

Dee Dee arrives back at the Enramera a while after Mat has left.  She tells Fausto that she’s finally “done it.”  She’s killed his wife.  Is she serious, he asks?  Sure.  She learned from the best and did what he’d needed—wanted—all these years.  Turns out he actually really loved her and always had.  Di is incensed that he should feel this way about the woman who’d despised him all his life and even had that peon, Ramos’s, bastard kid—Abigail!  Yeah, she knows now—heard it that day in the hospital.  How could he have so little self-respect??? And it is finally up to her to call a spade a spade:  “—You are perverted!  Really, you are!  You also knew that and yet you still tried to get her daughter—your wife’s own duaghter--into your bed!”  Eventually, Feisty returns to his senses and tells DeeDee to stay there while he goes into town to find out what’s what.  DeeDee tells herself that the police will soon be coming for her now—well, Fausto will make it all work out for her.  Sure he will……

Padre Tomas prays for his soul and for Dios’s forgiveness.

Across town at the cantina, Motor finds Tony and tells him the lowdown—how his delinquent dad has been detained by the cops.  The brute is back behind bars where he belongs.

At the hospital again, Pats tells Ren he’s going to be the one operating on her.  (Well, we learn he’s going to be assisted by some other young interns/residents or whatever.)  She makes him promise that if she dies that he will protect Abi from Fausto.  Of course he will, he promises.  (What’s he gonna say?  He’s really a pussycat and a pacifist?  That he can’t fight worth spit—which we’ve seen already, unfortunately.)

Fausto races to the clinic in San Real de Whatsit and demands to know from Mat where Renata is.  Mat has no idea what he’s talking about.  Fausto tells him that Diana shot and killed her and he thought she had to be there.   Meanwhile, Dr. Pats starts the surgery,
