Lo Imperdonable #35 Fri 7/3/15 Emi Arrives To Town; Claudia Gets Her Own Show; And The Old Goat Nearly Keels Over Again

Happy Fourth Of July Everyone! Hope You All Have A Great Day!

On to the recap...
(scenes have been combined to help it flow better)

Tough Love (Or Twisting The Knife?)

Jorge visits Emi in his room. He doesn't want Emi to feel like he's being treated as if he were an adolescent. Although we on The Patio know that he's been behaving like one. Jorge wants sonny boy to understand that they're worried about him. Emi like a true addict denies that he's an alcoholic. Yes, it's true that he's been drinking a lot lately. But that will pass. These days will mark the difference. Whatever that means. Jorge knows the real reason behind Emi's drinking. Emi thought it'd be easier getting over Vero but it hasn't been easy. Jorge doesn't want to hurt him more, but he has to show him Vero's fax. That way Emi will understand once and for all that he must leave her in the past.

The fax lets Emi know that Marty is doing better and Vero is happy. Emi crumples up the fax and Jorge tells Emi to not think that he doesn't understand his pain. It would drive Jorge crazy if he had to be away from Salma (foreshadowing perhaps?). But Emi's relationship with Veronica never started so it'll be easier to start over again with someone else. Emi doesn't think the same -- he'll never love anyone else.

Jorge tells Emi that life goes on. Emi will find someone else. Despite his pain, Jorge wants to believe that there is a part in Emi that is happy for Vero's happiness. Yes, is what Emi says. Jorge thinks Emi deserves to be happy also. He wants Emi to think of the Cancun trip as the start of a new life. Emi has to reinvent himself so he doesn't go further down. Yes, is what Emi says. Jorge hopes that Emi does enter reason. He reminds Emi that everyone loves him. Jorge leaves. Now alone, Emi tells himself that Claudia would have no reason to lie to him. And knowing Vero perhaps she just said she was happy to not worry Jorge. Emi will see if what the fax says is true or not.

Nookie Interrupted

Vero and Marty are busy getting intimate in their hotel room. But they are interrupted when Claudia comes knocking on their door. She's clearly not happy to see Vero and Marty together and Vero is not amused to see Claudia at their door. Claudia lets Marty know about the filter arriving and that it'll be installed tomorrow. Marty lets her know that he's busy with his wife and they can talk about the filter tomorrow. Claudia is dismissed (and snubbed). Ha!

Vero lets Martin know that the problem with Claudia is that she's imprudent. I'd add: unprofessional, a golddigger, and hubby stealer. Vero thinks that between Claudia and Nanciyaga she and Marty's privacy will be limited. Marty promises to speak to both of them. But in the meantime, they can get back to where they left off. The two continue their intimate moment.

Ana Perla Takes A Stand And The Old Goat Nearly Keels Over AGAIN

The old goat loses it after Ana Perla's confession that she looooves Pablo. He believes he has been made a fool of by everyone. He grabs the canvas where Pablo was to paint their family portrait and smashes it on the coffee table. He believes Ana Perla and Pablo have been seeing other behind his back. And for sure her cousins helped. Ana Perla makes it clear to the old goat that her cousins had nothing to do with it. She says that she fell in love with Pablo by watching him from afar, from how he drew her portrait, and from how he helped out at the church with the miners. Shouldn't that be enough for her to have fallen in love with him? The old goat sure doesn't think so. He thinks she has gone nuts. Doesn't she have a brain? It's all a fantasy brought on by the books she reads.

Ana Perla wants the old goat to give her the opportunity to see Pablo and get to know him better. That way the old goat can see if he's a good man and deserving of her affection. She goes as far as to get on her knees to beg the old goat for his permission to see Pablo. But the old goat isn't giving in. What can that painter offer you? he asks. The least the old goat expects is for Ana Perla to live as good or better than she lives now. Ana Perla reminds him that she doesn't care about money. And besides what good would it be having it if she isn't happy. She stands up to the old goat and gets exasperated and yells that she shouldn't have told him anything. The old goat has had it and he grabs her by the arm and sends her to room where she'll be locked up until he says so. He then starts feeling bad and nearly keels over again but sadly he doesn't. Ana Perla gets worried and runs to his side but the old goat doesn't let her touch him. The old goat sits on the couch and says that Ana Perla is going to kill him. Ana Perla heads upstairs to her room.

This Brother-In-Law Is Better Than The Real One

Romeo and Pablo chat. Romeo knows Pablo has a girlfriend in the city and he doesn't like that Pablo is playing around with Ana Perla. Pablo assures him that he is serious about Ana Perla and that he went to the city to break up with his girlfriend. Romeo isn't convinced. But is convinced once Pablo brings up marrying Ana Perla. The two become friends and Romeo tells Pablo that he can call him brother-in-law because Ana Perla and Blanquita are like his sisters.

Claudia Is Snubbed Yet Again

The next day, Vero and Marty have breakfast with an engineer who is an expert with the filter. Engineer leaves. Claudia shows up. Vero leaves Marty and Claudia alone so they can talk business. The only important thing from the business conversation is that Marty and Botel have to travel to the city to attend a meeting at the office for mines to inform them on what happened and the decontamination progress. They must bring evidence.

After their business talk, Marty tells Claudia that she can go back home now. He doesn't need her there anymore. He needs her at the construction company. Claudia can't believe what she is hearing. She's in tears. He tries to make her understand that she has crossed limits. She can't go around calling him "Martincito" in front of his wife. He tells her that she has to respect Vero and his marriage. He wants distance from her. She thinks he is firing her but he tells her he is not. He also tells her that they'll still be friends. He suggests she takes a vacation to think things to over. The vacation will be a paid one. He tells her to think about it and let him know what she decides. He leaves.

Pierre shows up and asks her what's wrong. She explains that she had argument with Marty and that he wants to send her back to the city. She says that she doesn't want to leave the town because she has started to care for it. And she's started to care for Pierre as well. She tells him that Marty is giving her a vacation as a consolation prize. Pierre suggests she spend the vacation in his hotel. She will be his guest of honor. He gets all kissy with her hand and she allows it.

Jealousy Jealousy Jealously

Vero finds out that Marty has to go to the city and she wants to come along. She'd love to see her family. Even though the trip includes Claudia. Marty lets her know he talked to her and put distance. Vero is glad to hear this although she does feel bad for her. Marty makes it clear to Vero that she's above anyone else. When Vero starts talking about seeing her loved ones Marty gets jealous because the list includes Emi. Vero makes it clear to Marty that Marty above everyone as well and that does include Emi.

Virginia Is Snubbed

Emi and Virginia arrive at the airport. Virginia is all smiles over the Cancun trip. Until she finds out Emi isn't going. Ha! Emi lets her know that he's off to Mina Escondida. Virginia tries to talk him out of it but to no avail. When Virginia asks him -- What will his parents say? -- he tells her they won't say anything because they won't find out. Basically, Emi wants Virginia to prove to him that she is his friend and accomplice by lying to his parents about his whereabouts. Virginia hates to do it but she accepts to help him out. She acts innocent and lets Emi know that she hates that she'll have to lie to his parents --- which has has never done before. Yeah riiiiighhhht! He'll stay in Mina Escondida for three days and try to make it to Cancun in time before his parents arrive. He and Virginia will agree on what to tell them. If he is able to he'll let her know how things are going. Virginia tells him to take care of himself and to not drink. Emi leaves and Virginia fumes and insults Emi. Mariana overhears and Virginia lets her know what happened. Mariana can't believe that Emi used them to escape. Virginia lets Mariana know that she hates lying to her aunt and uncle but she can't lose what she has won with Emi. She hopes Emi realizes that he won't find a woman like her. Oh pleaseee!

The Old Goat VS Pablo

Pablo innocently walks into the wolves den err the house of the old goat. The old goat loses it when he sees Pablo. He throws more of Pablo's supplies around, he yells, and kicks him out. Pablo doesn't get what the heck is wrong. He's done NOTHING to direspect the old goat and his family. This sets the old goat off even more. The old goat threatens Pablo to not get near Ana Perla OR else.

Ana Perla hears the yelling and hears when he old goat throws Pablo's supplies on the ground and fears that the old goat is killing Pablo. She rushes to the door but it's locked so she bangs on it. Eventually, the old goat enters and she asks if he whacked Pablo on the head. He explains that he didn't but he should have. (LOL) She explains that Pablo did nothing wrong. It's not his fault that she is interested in him. The old goat makes it clear to her that Pablo is not the man for her and it's best that Pablo not return for Pablo's well being.

I can't stand Raymunda

I can't stand this woman. UGH!

Pablo runs into Blanquita and Polo in the streets. Raymunda shows up and sends her kids home before Blanquita can tell Pablo about Ana Perla and the arranged marriage. Raymunda doesn't want Pablo getting near her kids or her family. Buzz off Raymunda.

No Tea For The Mujer Blanca

Vero and Magda chat. Botel arrives. Then Marty does. Magda doesn't want to go back to the city with Botel. Botel doesn't want to leave her alone. He's afraid she'll get depressed. Vero offers to stay with Magda. Magda doesn't want Vero to change her plans because of her but Vero wants to stay. Marty and Botel leave for the mine after Nanciyaga arrives and lets them that the food is being delivered there for the miners.

Nanciyaga can sense that Magda is worried and offers her a herbal tea. Vero thinks the tea will do both she and Magda good. But Nanciyaga makes it clear that the tea is only for Magda and NOT for the mujer blanca.

Nanciyaga mentions something about a black bird coming. She later explains that the black bird has a metal beak that spews metal from its beak and his heart is turning dark. Vero asks who Nanciyaga is talking about. But Nanciyaga just says what she sees. Vero would rather she not say those things since she can't give an explanation and Nanciyaga says that just because you deny something doesn't mean it is not true. She eventually does accept to give Vero some of that herbal tea for Vero's worries. Nanciyaga leaves.

 Vero Calms Pablo Down

Vero meets with Pablo. He lets her know he broke up with Mariana. It surprised him how Mariana was so mature about it. Vero lets him know about the arranged marriage. Pablo won't allow Ana Perla to be forced to marry someone. Vero calms him down. She doesn't want him to do anything. It takes some convincing but she does convince him not to do anything. She promises that she'll talk with the old goat.

The Claudia Seduction

Claudia gives Daniel a letter from Virginia. It's the instructions for him to keep Claudia busy so she doesn't break up Martin and Vero. She tells him they both have to make sacrifices -- she with Emi and he with Claudia. But it'll be for their benefit. Besides, she knows that he'll be thinking of her when he's with Claudia just like she's thinking of him when she is with Emi. Daniel is not amused. But he'll do what Virginia asks. When Claudia returns from fetching her fan he tells her that she's beautiful.

Pointless Scene

Pointless scene with Romeo and Ireri where they talk about Pablo walking into the wolves den by going over to the old goat's home. Romeo wants Ireri to take note that is what a man courting her should do -- take risks. Romeo is willing to sacrifice himself by marrying Ireri if no one else does. Ireri is not amused with the comment.

I'll Pay For My Miner's Food ThankYouVeryMuch

Ireri brings over the food for the miners that Marty sent over. The old goat doesn't like that Marty is feeding his miners. He doesn't want to owe him a thing. He wants to pay for the food. Manuel doesn't like the idea of paying for food that wasn't even there idea. Marty says the food is on the house -- or in this case on the La Morenita mine.

Joaquin tries to make peace between Marty and the old goat. Manuel is nasty as usual and lets Martin know not to get involved with the arranged marriage of Ana Perla. Marty lets Manuel know that he isn't afraid of him or the old goat. Joaquin sends Manuel to get a table from the office. Manuel refuses but the old goat makes him do it.

Ireri makes an announcement about a surprise Medel has for everyone at the bar. The price of admission is that miners must bring their signficant other or a sister. The old goat wants to know what it is all about and will take Manuel. (LOL) Ireri makes a crack about Manuel's grandpa taking him and when she leaves Manuel the pig checks her out.

Emi Arrives In Town

Emi arrives to Pueblo Nuevo. He's at the hotel. Teo greets him and gives him the hotel greeting but he forgets the end of the greeting. Teo lets Emi know that that hotel is basically all full except a small room they have left. Emi accepts the room. Emi wants info on the town and Teo is willing to give it to him. As long as it doesn't involve personal info about the people that live there. Because the motto of the hotel is privacy is their priority. Emi likes that -- he'll need lots of privacy.

The Not So Good Surprise

Everyone arrives at the bar. Vero, Martin, Botel, Magdalena, Manuel, etc. Daniel is there. Medel announces the surprise. The cantina will now have live entertainment. I think we all know what is coming next..... Yes, that's right... Claudia comes out on stage and sings although I don't think it's actually her singing... she's lip synching I think... anyway, Vero is not amused... while Pierre mouths an ooh la la... and that's it.

Thanks mucho Mauricio. One thing I would add. My translation of Nanci's prediction about the black bird sounded like a "black bird with a metal beak". I took that to be Emi and his semiautomatic pistola.

Only in modern post 9-11 Telenovela Land do you blythely carry a loaded pistol on an airplane. And from the scene with Marianna and Vsnake it was not like they were hitching a ride on a crop duster. It looked like a normal airport

Mauricio, it's always a pleasure to read your recaps and this one is no exception! I especially enjoyed the pithy and witty subheadings. Thank you so much!

"No tea for the Mujer Blanca"
hahaha. But you have to give it to the Medicine Woman (thanks, susanlynn!) – after she induces anxiety in Vero with her tales of the iron-beaked bird, she grudgingly doles out her medicinal tea to her.

So the greater Mina Escondida/Pueblo Nuevo metro area is becoming Stalker Central Station. All we need now are Ginny and Mariana to complete the picture.

I know the place is not an island, but I find myself thinking of it that way –– it's remote, accessible only by water, self-contained, xenophobic and hardly touched by the influences and laws of the mainland. It's a perfect setup for a Shakespearian comedy. Or tragedy. Or a Mejía tragicomedy.

Thank you so much Mauricio. Attention to detail even with a show with many "pointless scenes"

"Pablo innocently walks into the wolves den err the house of the old goat"

For different reasons, I agree with the old goat, wanting to protect Ana Perle but not marrying her off to a man of his choosing. What, Pablo is mid to late twenties city boy "artist" sniffing around a 17 year old naive country girl. Somebody outta crack his head.

I thought Claudia did a good job and the cantina much more lively than that karaoke bar they frequent in the city.

Feeble reason for keeping Dr. Dan in town, no, lame writing. Feeble reason for Virginia to go along with covering for Emiliano, no, again lame writing.

Why do they have to make Emiliano to be the bad guy here, we already got one, unless it is to brush under the rug Martin's abuse by introducing someone worse. Nothing wrong with him loving Veronica nor wanting to check on her. They've known each other for years and lived and worked together. I'm surprised Jorge hasn't shown a little more concern.

NovelaMaven, a "Mejía tragicomedy" for sure

Mauricio- You always deliver such high quality, detailed recaps. Loved it.

I just watched the episode. I have to give AP credit for being direct with Gramps. She even admitted that she may not really be in love with Pablo, and that's precisely why she should get to know him. I thought that was a very valid point. I agree that she may be too young and naive to rush headlong into this relationship with Pablo. But that also means she's too damn young to be walking down the aisle with a stranger and popping out babies, as Gramps thinks she should.

Nanciyaga getting all Tea Nazi on Vero ("No tea for you!") and then raising Vero's anxiety with her vague negative predictions, so that she then needed the tea, was hilarious.

There was a big continuity error this episode. Vero was wearing her V pendant in Magda's house, then a little later when they were walking she was wearing a saints medallion pendant. Someone in wardrobe made a boo boo between the scenes filmed on set in D.F. (inside Magda's house) and the scenes filmed outside on location.

But the pendant thing did get me thinking. I missed the episode when Vero puts her pendant in the drawer with the pendant Martin had (Virginia's). But from that recap, I was under the impression that Martin saw her put it in the drawer. The fact that she brought one with her, that she says is HERS, make him rethink if the one he had (his BIG PROOF) is really hers? Shouldn't that put Virginia right back into the frame of suspect, especially now that he's learned how awesome, good and generous Vero is?

And since learning that Dimitrio was one of the mine owners, and that he died, shouldn't Veronica be questioning Martin about this? Why didn't he tell her? How did he come to own Dim's portion of the mine? Why's he trying to keep Dim's death a secret from her?

Why has she let something so major drop?

I liked the dress Claudia was singing in, but did she really pack something like that for her trip to Mina Escondida? Come on!

Missed a word: The fact that she brought one with her, that she says is HERS, didn't make him rethink if the one he had (his BIG PROOF) isn't really hers?

Vivi, I think Martin set his mind on Veronica being the one Demetrio fell for and that is that. No need to inquire further. He believes Veronica has just changed because of her love for him. Pretty big ego he got there.

Veronica was looking at her pendant and reached across him trying put it in the nightstand drawer. He saw the other pendant in view and before she could, flipped her over so she couldn't.

I agree, Veronica should be all over the Demetrio thing but since Martin has reformed and they're going at it like teenagers, nothing else matters.

Good recap mauricio, I'm watching fireworks while I'm writing this. Happy 4th of july patio peeps. You to mauricio☆★☆★☆★☆★☆

I like the way marty and vero are getting along. I hope it last, but crazy Emi is on the way, and he's packin heat. That probably is the black bird with the medel beak. That guy thats playin him, they got him lookin crazy
Sergey Sanchez that's his name? Im used to seeing him with much darker hair. This color dosen't set off his eyes like the darker color. He has beautiful eyes, but that light hair color washes them out. I guess it works for the part he's playing.

Mauricio---A superb recap (yours always are) and only seven comments? There should be at a minimum 57 comments after a great novela and the super great recap that you gave us.--- I know that it's the 4th of July but good grief only seven comments? I can't believe it. Well anyway the gringo's on board and loving it.

Things are getting very interesting. We now have two V necklaces. That has to draw Martin's curiosity. Claudia is hanging in close and we have Emi, a man with a love obsession, a few bottles of tequila and a loaded Glock. Add these three things together and it can't be good.

When V-Snake and Mariana arrive it will be like a big party down in Mina Escondida although I don't think that we will be seeing very many happy faces like we are seeing on tv at the big 4th of July parties here in the U.S.

the gringo

As tofie says,

"I agree, Veronica should be all over the Demetrio thing but since Martin has reformed and they're going at it like teenagers, nothing else matters."

Our lovers are deliberately oblivious to all the danger signs. It's as if they are both choosing to stick their fingers in their ears so they don't hear the fire alarms sounding. But all of us on the Patio know that:

-Marty will be overwhelmed with guilt when he eventually and inevitably finds out that Vero is completely innocent.
-Vero will feel betrayed when she finds out about the venganza.

gringo,
"Emi, a man with a love obsession, a few bottles of tequila and a loaded Glock."
ooh, nicely worded, gringo!

Claudia is pitiful. Marty is not into her. Singing that little tired song ain't gonna make it so.
Looks like all the suspects are gathering on that little island. Poppa jorge and momma selma ought to come join the party.
With V-snake, wacky mariana, and crazy gun toten Emi, throw crazy manny and creepy grandpa in the mix, watch the fireworks!!!!!
Hope yall had a safe happy 4th of july.☆★☆★

"This brother-in-law Is better than the real one". Yes he is, romeo does have the gift of gab, but at least he's not crazy like wacky emanuel. That family needs all the sane people they can get.

Nina---NovelaMaven stated that I choose my words about Emi well. I think that you gave us a well written paragraph at 12:57PM.I agree with a mixture like that, there's bound to be fireworks and those fireworks might even equal what we saw in New York last night.

I think that Claudia did much better than she did at the karaoke club. Was it a lip sync sing? I don't know but it was sure better than when she sang before.

It had been mentioned that Claudia looked nice but that she was overdressed. True but she did look really good (not as nice as the goddess though, one can never look better than the goddess) but yes, really, really good. I don't think that there were any complaints coming from Pierre. Actually, the gringo wasn't complaining either.

the gringo

Thanks everyone for all the comments.

gringo -- I thought Claudia was lip synching. She didn't sound like the other times we have heard her singing. She was singing pretty good. What does everyone else think?

I did like the dress that she wearing and thought she looked good. I could read Pierre's lips and I think he really did say a silent ooh la la at the performance -- LOL.

Nina - I hope the others join Vero, Marty, Daniel, Claudia, etc in Mina Escondida. I love it when the characters all interact with one another.

The actor who is playing Emiliano is Sergio Sendel.

Great recap. Thanks so much. I loved it.

Thank you Mauricio, great recap.
Looks like the party time for the two love birds is coming to an end with all the villians waiting to separate them already in Mina Escondida, lets hope they hold on longer together.

Mauricio, thanks for the marvelous recaps. I've been missing for a bit as my computer was at the computer hospital having malware excision. And, apparently (off-topic rant) both my mobile devices must be too old that I couldn't do what was required to prove I wasn't a robot. However, I have read and appreciated each and every recap.

LatinaInMd, wherever you are, I loved, loved the extra clips. That extra hot one was definitely OOOOO..LA..LA!!!

Mauricio, I loved that we now not only have ShutUpBotel, but now we can have BuzzOffRaymunda!! Excellent.

BTW, I know a lot of you hate Botel, and he has had his alcoholic transgressions (especially exposing Magdalena to town gossip), but I think for the most part he seems to care about/for Magdalena quite a bit. I do think he seemed a little creepier early on when they always showed him standing behind Magdalena while he talked.

Also, did anyone catch the exactly what Botel said about Veronica after she offered to stay behind in Mina Escondido with Magdalena? He was thanking Veronica but started to say something like how good she was especially after we had no faith or trust in you. He only partially caught himself in time.

I still really hate Manuel.

Even if Claudia was lip synching, I think it's her own voice. I think there was some agreement to write in all these singing spots to probably advance somethng Alicia Machado is doing with her career.

And, did Claudia really get a two month paid vacation? WOW. Pretty good consolation prize i'd say. Of course we know she'll be there for Martincito when the lovebirds are having trouble again.

I've loved all the loving we've had this week--I think Ana Brenda and Ivan Sanchez are a good match.

How stupid is it that Martín just leaves the 2nd "V' necklace in such an easily found location? Especially now that Veronica is going to retrieve her own necklace from the same spot.

Barbara

Thank you everyone for the comments.

Barbara - I'm sorry to hear that you have been having computer trouble and haven't been able to post using your phone. Have you gotten your computer back?

Here's what Botel said to Veronica: Botel thanks Veronica and tells her that "if someday I doubted that you...well who cares about that...thanks for taking care of my Malena...she means a lot to me.."

Claudia -- Maybe Alicia Machado is interested in starting a music career and that's why we have been having all those scenes with her signing. I think she did a pretty good job at the bar. Better than the other times -- especially at the karaoke.

That was a good consolation prize that she got. Martin will sure be surprised when he finds out just where she wants to spend her two month vacation.

"I still really hate Manuel."

Me too. I can't seem to feel any sympathy for her. He was given a second chance but has done nothing to redeem himself. He's still his nasty self.

*can't feel any sympathy for him

Mauricio, thanks for the translation of Botel's comment. I thought it was something close to that but couldn't quite get it. And yes, my computer is all better. Yea!

Barbara

@Mauricio - thank you for another great recap.

@Barbara (CorgiMom) - glad you liked the clips. It was fun making them, although tricky due to the 20MB size restriction here in the Patio. That means that I had to snip stuff out, but unlike Uni, I cut out the lesser stuff so I could include the hot stuff.

Thanks Mauricio for a fun recap. Just when I thought Vero would go with Martin to Mexico City, and Emi would miss her during his trip to Mina Escondida, she changed her mind and stayed for Magdalena. As others have mentioned with Emi boozing so much and carrying a gun, nothing good can come of this. Wonder how long before Jorge and Salma find out he didn't go to Cancun, and they show up too?

Also, just when I thought we would be rid of Claudia for a while, she ended up staying to take her two month vacation in town. Bet Martin and Vero didn't see that one coming! LOL! Hope Pierre keeps her very busy and out of their hair.

Maricruz

Thanks Mauricio! Always so satisfying to read your well-written recaps.

It'll be so much fun to see all of the interactions coming - Emi with Manuel and Crescencio for instance. Nanci with Emi? When will Virginia arrive with Mariana?
EGAD! What a jungle stomp! Can't wait!
