In Case You Missed Last Night...
Marty, Vero, Maggie and Botel say their goodbyes at the door of the hotel. Vero tells Marty she loves that he is taking her on a trip for their honeymoon and thanks him for making her so happy. They kiss and Marty goes to get the car while Vero waits at the entrance. At the hospital AP tells Eleazar that if she had known who he was she wouldn't have told him all her troubles. He tells her that his intension was just to help her. Pablo sees them talking and watches them walk down the hallway with Gramps. He tells his mother that he needs to find out who that guy is. She tells him to concentrate on his recovery and how his life will change if he regains movement in his hand. Pablo says yes, but his life will change even more if he looses AP and it wouldn't matter if he could paint again or not.
Start of the Show!
Daniel and Virginia are kissing at the entrance of the hotel and Vero turns around and sees them. Vero yells "Virginia!" Daniel and Virginia turn and see Vero walking towards them. Vero asks Virginia, what about all the love you had for Emiliano? Vero calls her a slut and accuses her of cheating on him just when they are on the brink of getting married. She accuses Daniel of having no shame or professional ethics; kissing one of your patients. What kind of doctor is he? She says that her aunt and uncle trust him. Daniel tells Vero that she is confusing things. Virginia interrupts and says that Daniel has no reason to give Vero explanations because she (Vero) has already made up a story in her head and probably thinks that Virginia is a slut like her. Vero says that she is not making anything up and to be a man and accept what is going on (between him and V-Snake). Virginia tells Vero not to disrespect Daniel because he is her friend and doctor. She goes on to say that Daniel asked her to meet him at the hotel to talk about her health before she gets married. Besides, Mariana was there with them. When Vero asks where Mariana is because she sees no trace of her, Virginia says she left early to go to the hospital to see Pablo, which is where she and Daniel are headed. Vero tells Virginia she is a liar and a hypocrite (mustia) and that she's not going to let Virginia pull one over on Emi. Virginia says it's a waste to argue with Vero and that she can think what she wants; she's not going to let Vero affect her with gossip and lies. Vero tells her "We'll see if Emiliano thinks they are lies!"
The doctor growls as they walk away. Virginia tells him to calm down, he's going to look guilty. He wants to know what's going to happen when her aunt/uncle find out. They will want to charge him because no one is going to believe that they met at the hotel so he could give her some test results. Virginia tells him not to worry because she is going to convince Mariana to be their witness. She calls Mariana, who is at the hospital crying because Pablo broke up with her for reals this time, and tells her that she needs her help because Vero is making up lies about her and Daniel so that Emi will break up with her. Mariana agrees and asks Virginia what she needs. She tells Mariana that if anyone asks her if she was with Virginia she needs to say that she was eating with them at the hotel and left early to see Pablo at the hospital. Virginia begs her and says that her wedding and happiness depend on Mariana. She hangs up the phone and tells Daniel not to worry, as usual she has fixed everything to go her way.
Marty has come back and Vero is telling him about what she saw. Like always, Virginia was being a hypocrite and denying everything and Daniel was trying to convince Vero that she misinterpreted things. And their justification for being there was ridiculous. Marty tells Vero to be careful because Virginia is days away from marrying Emi. Vero says she knows and that's why she needs to say what she knows. Virginia is so crazy that she is capable of twisting things around. And poor Emi, it's not fair to him. She's not going to let anyone deceive Emi. Marty suddenly has a flashback and remembers seeing Virginia and Daniel together at that same hotel. Virginia told Marty that she and Daniel were in a relationship but to not tell anyone.

Virginia and Daniel arrive at the hospital. Virginia messages her aunt that she urgently needs to talk with her. Mariana, still crying and wearing some really shiny gold pants, tells Virginia that Pablo and her had a fight. Virginia tells her that she doesn't see it yet, but that this was the best thing that could have happened. Pablo does not deserve Mariana, and she will eventually forget him. Mariana argues that she loves Pablo, but Virginia tells her that Pablo hurt her and that's not right. Virginia says that her problem is urgent and that only Mariana can save her wedding to Emi. She explains to Mariana that Vero misinterpreted things when she saw Virginia and Daniel saying their goodbyes at the hotel, and accused Virginia of being Daniel's lover. Mariana thinks that Vero is out to destroy Virginia, but also wants to know why Virginia was alone at a hotel with Daniel?
At a café in the middle of the city Salma and Maggie meet to talk about the confrontation they had. Salma apologizes and says that Jorge told her how and why she was separated from Vero, and that she's very sorry. Maggie tells her that she will accept her apology because after all she did take care of Vero, but earlier in the day Salma was very cruel to Vero. Salma again apologizes saying that she was having a bad moment. She has been having a lot of family problems. She offers Maggie her friendship so they can talk. Maggie thanks her but says that she can't see her as a friend if she doesn't get along with Vero; don't misunderstand her, Maggie is not Salma's enemy, it's just that she can't pretend that's she's happy with the bad relationship she has with Vero. Salma says that wasn't her intension. Maggie assures her that if Vero is mistaken, she will be the first one to tell her. Maggie wants to make it clear that she is going to defend Vero, and she will not let anyone hurt her again. Salma promises to try to get along better with Vero. Salma's phone rings and it's the urgent message from Virginia.
Back at the hotel Vero asks Marty why he had not mentioned the run in with Virginia and Daniel? He says that he forgot and that Virginia had asked him to keep quiet because according to Virginia, Vero had told Uncle Jorge that they deserved to marry men that would treat them like queens. Vero tells him that of course that is a lie, and she needs to talk with Emi ASAP.
Back to the hospital, Virginia is telling Mariana that she did nothing wrong. She was meeting Daniel at the hotel to eat and get the results of her tests. Mariana wants to know why the good ol' doc didn't give her the results at the hospital, but V-Snake twists it around and says that her and the doc are friends, and besides, he wanted to give her some good news. Virginia will be able to get pregnant and give Emi children. Gold pants believes V-Snake and tells her that at least her dreams will come true. Of course V-Snake says that all depends on Mariana, because it can look bad that she was at the hotel with Daniel and that her conservative aunt wouldn't understand. Mariana tells her not to worry she will cover for her. Virginia says she knows she can always count on Mariana and asks her what happened with Pablo. Montserrat marches in and tells Mariana that she's been looking for her. She thanks Virginia for coming to support her daughter and bad mouths Pablo for being uneducated and kicking Mariana to the curb. Virginia says that Pablo will regret his decision and she feels bad because Vero supported Pablo's affair with AP. Montse says that she was shocked by Vero, but that Salma assured her that she would put Vero in her place. Virginia just thinks it's important that they support one another.
In the hospital café, Gramps, AP and Eleazar are chatting. Gramps introduces Dr. Daniel to Eleazar while they talk about Manny's recovery. Gramps realizes that he will have to rent an apartment in the city while Manny recovers. He also says not to worry because AP's aunt Reymunda and her cousins are coming to the city to help. Eleazar offers to help and find them an apartment.
Salma is now at the hospital talking with Virginia. Through fake tears, she tells her aunt how anxious she was to get her test results. Her aunt knows how she wants to be healthy enough to have children with Emi after they are married. She admits to hugging the doctor when they were saying goodbye, but no way is she his lover. Salma says she believes her, and that the hug is logical because she was just showing her appreciation. Mariana chimes in and lies that she shouldn't have left early to come back to the hospital and that way Vero would not have misunderstood the situation. Virginia says that she can't believe that Vero called her a slut in front of the doctor. Vero just attacks, attacks, attacks! Salma wants to tell Jorge, but Virginia convinces her to keep quiet. Salma wants them to talk with Emi and have Vero and Daniel present to see if Vero will have the nerve to make false accusations against Virginia. Virginia says that she just wanted to be honest with her aunt and admits that she did go to dinner with the doctor to try to forget Emi, but it didn't work because she will always love Emi. They hug and V-Snake has a relieved smirk on her face.

At the school Polo gives his drawing to his friend as a goodbye gift. He is going to the city with his family to care for his cousin. They will miss each other and are each other's best friend. They hug while the class chants that they are novios (boyfriend/girlfriend).
Nanciyaga and the Padre have a chat. She tells him that she misses her patron and realizes that she shouldn't have kept the secret. That mujer blanca, Vero, is not mujer mala. The Padre asks if she refers to the fact that Vero was not the woman that Demitrio loved. Nanciyaga feels bad for keeping quiet. The Padre says that Marty deserves to know the truth and that this could have avoided a lot of the bad things that happened between Marty and Vero.

Marty drops off Vero at the Prado/Castelo offices and says that he supports her. She thanks him for his support and says that he is showing her that his jealousy is behind him and that he trusts her.
At the hospital Eleazar says goodbye to Gramps and AP. Gramps wants AP to get to know Eleazar while they are in the city, then they can go back to Mina Escondida for the wedding...
Pablo runs into Mariana in the hallway. He tells her to stop threatening him about the New York exhibit. He thinks it's sad that he once loved her, and to think that the support she gave him was false. She never cared about his career. She did it all to get him to marry her. He doesn't care what she has to do to get her anger out. She says that she hates him and that she hopes his hand never heals.
Salma tells Virginia not to worry, that Emi will understand. Besides, the doctor saved her life. Salma knows that Virginia only loves Emi. She confirms that Emi is the love of her life.
Vero goes to Emi's office and tells him that she's sorry to say this but Virginia's cheating on him. She saw Virginia kissing Daniel Fernandez. Emi says he cannot believe what Vero is telling him. He says she is mistaken. If Virginia says it's not true, then she needs to believe her, Punto! He says that Vero has always known that Virginia has always loved Emi. She tells him that she is telling the truth, and that Marty had seen them leaving that same hotel. And that Virginia had told Marty that she was starting a relationship with Daniel. Vero is sure that they were together since then. Emi thinks that Marty is saying this to frustrate him, and he's sorry but he does not believe Vero. Emi says that Virginia had never had a relationship with anyone. Never. Vero can't let him marry someone who is cheating on him like that. Emi wants her to stop confusing him; he's about to get married and he knows that Virginia is a good person and she loves him. He thought that they had agreed to live separate, happy lives, so he asks her to stay out of his life. She says it was her obligation to tell him because she worries about his happiness, but never mind, do whatever you want, and she storms out of his office. Emi calls Virginia. They need to talk.

Joaquin bids farewell to his family. Reymunda, Blanquita and Polo are off to the city to help AP and Gramps with Manny. Before they leave Nanciyaga gives a necklace to Blanquita to give give to Marty. She says it's to protect him from the bad that is coming. She needs to tell Marty that the mala mujer is NOT mujer blanca.

Marty talks on the phone while waiting for Vero. She tells him that Emi did not believe her. He says that she can't do nothing more for him
At the hospital, Pablo can't believe how Mariana is acting. He's also worried about all the money he owes. To Marty for the hospital and Pierre for the hotel.

Pierre and Claudia arrive at the hotel and get the latest news from Teo.

Virginia confesses to Emi that at his party she told Marty that she was going out with Daniel. Emi's mad that she never told him. She thought it wasn't important. Emi thinks it was unethical for her to go out with her doctor. She says that Daniel is her doctor and her friend and knows exactly how she feels about Emi, there is no reason for him to be jealous. Emi says he's not jealous, but he doesn't want to look stupid. Emi tells her to tell him everything because he doesn't want any surprises. She says she will change doctors if he wants. She says that even though they are engaged she doesn't want to marry him if he doesn't trust her and takes her ring off. Emi says he defended her in front of Vero in order to hear her side and he never thought that Vero would accuse Virginia the way she did. Virginia begs him not to let Vero come between them. He agrees and puts the ring back on her finger. He wants to forget about all of this.
Daniel asks Vero not to insist on false accusations that could cost him his medical license. Vero will leave it on his conscience. Daniel receives a call from Virginia and tells her that everything is A-ok.
In a café AP and Blanquita talk about Pablo. AP tells her that she can't get back with Pablo because if she does Manny will kill him. AP says she can not let Manny hurt Pablo and is determined to stay away from Pablo and let her Gramps do what he wants. She already met Eleazar and he's nice, but she's will only ever love Pablo. He is and will always be the only man in her life.
At the hospital Marty and Vero leave a check with Pablo for the hospital expenses. He thanks them and asks about the guy that's been hovering around AP. He's not going to give up on AP.
Vero and V-Snake run into each other at the hospital and Virginia rubs it in Vero's face that her plan didn't work and that the wedding is still on. Vero wishes her well and Virginia says that she is NOT invited to the wedding. Vero says that she doesn't want to witness Emi ruin his life by marrying a woman who is hypocrite, a liar and a manipulator. Virginia slaps Vero, but Vero comes back with a double slap that leaves a cara de impactada face on Virginia. V-Snake tries to return a slap on Vero but is denied. Vero grabs Virginia's arm and tells her that for every slap Virginia gives her, Vero will come back with two for her. Virginia thinks that Vero is jealous, but Vero tells her that she wishes Virginia was Emi's happiness, but that a person as egotistical as her can not make anyone happy. Virginia vows that after she is married, Vero will no longer be welcomed at the Prado/Castelo home, a house that will soon be all hers. Vero says that Virginia just showed her true colors. She is only marrying Emi out of interest and not love, she is trash.
At the Prado/Castelo home Salma and Emi talk about the problems with Vero and Virginia. Salma does not want Jorge to find out. Emi agrees.
At the hotel, Maggie says she cannot be intimate with Botel. She has a flashback with Aaron. Botel understands. Maggie promises to move forward, but she is still sad that Vero can't see her a her mother yet. They tell each other how much they love each other. Maggie wants to get legally divorced from Aaron.
In a jail cell Aaron suffers in pain. The doctor says he will never walk right again. He tells Clemente that he needs to help him get justice.
Reymunda has a heart to heart with Manny. She regrets not being there more for him. He lies and tells her that being so close to death has changed him.

At the bar Joaquin tells Medel how much he misses his family. The town teacher comes in and says hello. She stays staring at Joaquin. Hmmm....

Reymunda tells AP that she needs to forget about Pablo. She needs to get to know Eleazar. She understands that Pablo was her first love, but not her last. Pablo will only bring her problems. Gramps, Manny and Reymunda will not accept her seeing Pablo again. AP will need to decide between her family and Pablo.
Virginia runs into Gramps and Manny in the hospital hallway. She overhears Gramps saying that Manny needs to find someone like Virginia to marry. Virginia may have found her next victim.

She tells him that she is telling the truth, and that Marty had seen them leaving that same hotel. And that Virginia had told Marty that she was starting a relationship with Daniel. Vero is sure that they were together since then. Emi thinks that Marty is saying this to frustrate him, and he's sorry but he does not believe Vero. Emi says that Virginia had never had a relationship with anyone. Never. Vero can't let him marry someone who is cheating on him like that. Emi wants her to stop confusing him; he's about to get married and he knows that Virginia is a good person and she loves him. He thought that they had agreed to live separate, happy lives, so he asks her to stay out of his life. She says it was her obligation to tell him because she worries about his happiness, but never mind, do whatever you want, and she storms out of his office. Emi calls Virginia. They need to talk.
Mina Escondida
Joaquin bids farewell to his family. Reymunda, Blanquita and Polo are off to the city to help AP and Gramps with Manny. Before they leave Nanciyaga gives a necklace to Blanquita to give give to Marty. She says it's to protect him from the bad that is coming. She needs to tell Marty that the mala mujer is NOT mujer blanca.
Mexico City
Marty talks on the phone while waiting for Vero. She tells him that Emi did not believe her. He says that she can't do nothing more for him
At the hospital, Pablo can't believe how Mariana is acting. He's also worried about all the money he owes. To Marty for the hospital and Pierre for the hotel.
Pueblo Nuevo
Pierre and Claudia arrive at the hotel and get the latest news from Teo.
Mexico City
Virginia confesses to Emi that at his party she told Marty that she was going out with Daniel. Emi's mad that she never told him. She thought it wasn't important. Emi thinks it was unethical for her to go out with her doctor. She says that Daniel is her doctor and her friend and knows exactly how she feels about Emi, there is no reason for him to be jealous. Emi says he's not jealous, but he doesn't want to look stupid. Emi tells her to tell him everything because he doesn't want any surprises. She says she will change doctors if he wants. She says that even though they are engaged she doesn't want to marry him if he doesn't trust her and takes her ring off. Emi says he defended her in front of Vero in order to hear her side and he never thought that Vero would accuse Virginia the way she did. Virginia begs him not to let Vero come between them. He agrees and puts the ring back on her finger. He wants to forget about all of this.
Daniel asks Vero not to insist on false accusations that could cost him his medical license. Vero will leave it on his conscience. Daniel receives a call from Virginia and tells her that everything is A-ok.
In a café AP and Blanquita talk about Pablo. AP tells her that she can't get back with Pablo because if she does Manny will kill him. AP says she can not let Manny hurt Pablo and is determined to stay away from Pablo and let her Gramps do what he wants. She already met Eleazar and he's nice, but she's will only ever love Pablo. He is and will always be the only man in her life.
At the hospital Marty and Vero leave a check with Pablo for the hospital expenses. He thanks them and asks about the guy that's been hovering around AP. He's not going to give up on AP.
Vero and V-Snake run into each other at the hospital and Virginia rubs it in Vero's face that her plan didn't work and that the wedding is still on. Vero wishes her well and Virginia says that she is NOT invited to the wedding. Vero says that she doesn't want to witness Emi ruin his life by marrying a woman who is hypocrite, a liar and a manipulator. Virginia slaps Vero, but Vero comes back with a double slap that leaves a cara de impactada face on Virginia. V-Snake tries to return a slap on Vero but is denied. Vero grabs Virginia's arm and tells her that for every slap Virginia gives her, Vero will come back with two for her. Virginia thinks that Vero is jealous, but Vero tells her that she wishes Virginia was Emi's happiness, but that a person as egotistical as her can not make anyone happy. Virginia vows that after she is married, Vero will no longer be welcomed at the Prado/Castelo home, a house that will soon be all hers. Vero says that Virginia just showed her true colors. She is only marrying Emi out of interest and not love, she is trash.
At the Prado/Castelo home Salma and Emi talk about the problems with Vero and Virginia. Salma does not want Jorge to find out. Emi agrees.
At the hotel, Maggie says she cannot be intimate with Botel. She has a flashback with Aaron. Botel understands. Maggie promises to move forward, but she is still sad that Vero can't see her a her mother yet. They tell each other how much they love each other. Maggie wants to get legally divorced from Aaron.
In a jail cell Aaron suffers in pain. The doctor says he will never walk right again. He tells Clemente that he needs to help him get justice.
Reymunda has a heart to heart with Manny. She regrets not being there more for him. He lies and tells her that being so close to death has changed him.
Mina Escondida
At the bar Joaquin tells Medel how much he misses his family. The town teacher comes in and says hello. She stays staring at Joaquin. Hmmm....
Mexico City
Reymunda tells AP that she needs to forget about Pablo. She needs to get to know Eleazar. She understands that Pablo was her first love, but not her last. Pablo will only bring her problems. Gramps, Manny and Reymunda will not accept her seeing Pablo again. AP will need to decide between her family and Pablo.
Virginia runs into Gramps and Manny in the hospital hallway. She overhears Gramps saying that Manny needs to find someone like Virginia to marry. Virginia may have found her next victim.
At the Prado/Castelo home Jorge, Salma, Emi, Vero and Virginia are meeting. Jorge tells them about how much each will get. Emi 30%, Jorge and Salma 20% each and Vero and Virginia 15% each. Vero tells her uncle she can't accept it, but he insists. Virginia argues that Vero doesn't need the money. Vero can't believe that Salma protects Virginia. Vero says that Virginia is not in love with Emi, but only after his money. Salma is going to regret protecting her all this time. She's like a spider, when you least expect it, she's going to bite
Avances:Virginia is ready to get married. Emi has doubts and confesses them to Nicolas. Matilde finds a picture of Virginia with Dimitrio.

My favorite scene was Pierre's and Claudia's return to the hotel. How funny was it that Claudia was the one carrying and controlling Pierre's stick? Could the metaphor have been any more graphic?
While I think that Verónica should not have inserted herself into the relationship between Emiliano and Virginia, I did enjoy the slap exchange. As much of a Virginia fan I am, I must admit that Verónica won that confrontation going away. What style and form she displayed with that double slap. Virginia was simply no match for her.

I certainly hope that Joaquín takes proper care of Onyx while Polo is away in the big city.

Interesting that Nanciyaga now thinks that it's urgent to inform Martín that Verónica is not the bad woman. He's asked her point blank specifically if Verónica is the mala mujer and something or someone has always interrupted before she's had a chance to answer.

Joaquin’s a nice guy and everything, but I can’t really imagine him catching the eye of the new teacher or any woman for that matter, but, hey, whatever floats her boat. At least she hasn’t fallen for Manuel. I’m starting to fear that we will see him with a love interest before this ride comes to a complete stop, god help us all.
Carlos, I just watched ep. 41 and it left off with Nanciyaya saying she needs to find out for sure if Virginia was the mala mujer (Det’s gf). I had started watching LI around these episodes, so I saw them but wasn’t following the all the details, for sure. So I don’t know what to think yet about whether Nanci was fully honest or not. Plus in last night’s episode, she wanted to tell Martin what she knows, like she had been hiding info from him. However, in that case, it seems she was honest initially, but she let her jealousy of Vero interfere. I think I should reserve further comment until I re-watch ep. 42 and maybe a few more.

That's what I thought until I re-watched episode 40 the other day. Nanci and Ginny had had their first encounter in just the previous episode. She definitely tells Martin about her intuition, although she wasn't 100% clear in her communication, and he actually asks her if she is saying Ginny was Demetrio's novia, but because it's only an intuition, he then dismisses it. In episode 41, Ginny seeks out Nanci and gets in her face to bully her a bit so she won't be causing trouble later. Nanci isn't intimidated, but afterwards realizes that Ginny was acting oddly for an innocent person, and that she needs better proof of who Ginny is.
I need to rewatch the next couple of episodes because now that I know what is going on they make a lot more sense. (Amazing how that works!) If Nanci does get proof later on and then doesn't tell Martin about it, then, yes, I agree completely. That is a sin of omission. But initially, she definitely was honest with Martin - IMHO.

Carolina, there was a scene in the cemetery where Nanciyaga observes Virginia at Demetrio's grave. Virginia's demeanor confirms Nanciyaga's belief that she is the mala mujer. Then Nanciyaga makes a conscious decision not to tell Martín. (Or at least that's the way I remember it – obviously, I could be all wet!)

Thanks NovelaMaven and Mauricio for clearing that up. I tend to get things a bit jumbled up when I don't watch a novela in sequence. I thought she must have found out something more certain than her ESP, but couldn't remember what. That would most certainly be less than honest and a sin of omission.
Initially, she did make an effort to tell Martin, but I agree with Mauricio that her desire to have Martin for herself got the best of her.

Ramunda tells AP she needs to choose between her family and Pablo, I say she should chose Pablo. She shouldn't marry someone just to satisfy her family and the traditions. Els Is a nice guy, but he knows that shes in love with another main. So he don't need to be indulging her family when he may have an Idea this wont work.
