Wow .. we have entered Ultimos Capitulos. We don't have that much left.

Overall this was a nice episode (despite Manny and Virginia bonding) and we had some very nice moments.

I'm glad that Marty is now a free man and that Aaron didn't get a chance to do whatever it was that he had planned to do to him. Also, it's awesome that now he won't be getting the money that he asked from Vero to keep Marty alive. Ha!

Nanci is back and her heart has been cured. Yay! Hopefully, this means that she won't be chasing after Marty.

Fingers crossed that Aldo is able to get Manny's fingerprints so they can link him to being the one that stole the mold from La Morenita.

Great ending with Veronica telling Jorge and Emiliano how disappointed she is in them for having doubted her yet again.
 

So sorry you had to recap such a gross episode Mauricio, but you did a great job! I agreed with all of your asides and comments. I cringed when idiot Pablo said he had "his own reasons" to shop. He is purposely withholding information for his own benefit and it's disgusting.
That was some bad writing having the judge consider not releasing Marty due to his behavior! That had nothing to do with the charges, I was relieved he was freed.

Loved: "Magdalena will run the place. Scary, right?" Yes indeed.

Random question, why was the bed in the main room of the San Telmo home? I thought the stairs lead to the bedrooms? Perhaps since we're in ultimas semanas continuity had been thrown out the window.

Agree that Ana Perla needs to pray for an infusion of brain cells for her progeny. Laughed at your "cartwheels" comment and howled as you wrote you were frantically searching for the mute button before you remembered you had to recap Raymunda's words. Yesssss, the women in that family are prodigious criers.

And loved how you presented the Virginia/Manual coupling. Up against the wall indeed. Not in front of the children please!

And the last gem "Magdalena will run the place." Perfect. Women and children will be kidnapped, mayhem will abound and Maggie will weep and whine some more. Works for me.

I dont understand why Vero isnt wearing her wedding ring. They are clearly back together so why the delay.

I'm sure the monkey writers were behind that one. I couldn't believe that the Judge was about keep Marty locked up due to his behavior when he had evidence in his hand that proved his innocence. Glad that Veronica spoke up and defended Marty.

I was wondering the same thing about the location about the bed. It doesn't make sense that it would be downstairs and in plain site of any visitors especially since there is a staircase leading to where a bedroom should be at.

I hope she gives them a hard tme too. They are so quick to judge and doubt her and if Marty had to go through a hard time getting her forgiveness then they should as well. I liked how she told Jorge that she was disappointed in him.

Just a few thoughts right now---Yes Mauricio, you gave us patio peeps a REALLY GREAT
weekend recap of Friday's happenings.

I do have a different take than you on one part however. You said that you didn't like the Manny, V-snake intimacy scene. I find Manny and the viper just as disgusting as you do but early on just as the scene was starting, I was thinking that those two belong together. Then as things started getting hot and heavy, my thought was---let them go ahead and have some fun. They won't live long anyway.

No one at Grandpa Goat's burial? Wow, What happened to all the people that came to the church to view the casket?

Everyone thinks that it is ridiculous and poor writing by the monkey writers or maybe Mejia. The judge is going to consider Martin's behavior while in prison along with the charges of the case. It's so very simple A+B=C. or 1+2=3 Right? WRONG! A judge can do or consider anything that he wants---HE"S THE JUDJE and what he says goes. Here in So. Cal. A man was convicted and was up for sentencing. The law said that a mandatory 25 years had to be given but the judge overruled the mandatory sentence---he didn't like it and gave out a 10 year sentence instead. The people here are outraged but unless the judge is recalled, the 10 years will stand. Also, a judge can overrule a jury's decision if he sees fit. And so if the Judge chooses to consider other things about Martin and his case, he can. Remember, he's the judge
Is the patio going to tell the judge what he can and can't rule on? I think not.

Or perhaps the production staff don't even thought about where they were going to lead (decoration in telenovelas is pretty much an illogical thing)

About the main bed, has been always in the same place from the beginning.

Good point. They were made for each other and do have a lot in common. I suppose it was only a matter of time before they got together and what better moment for them to be together than now that we are so close to the end. I can totally see them wrecking havoc and terrozing everyone in these last few weeks of the show.

Thank you for the legal information. I'm glad the Judge reconsidered and gave Marty his freedom. It would have been unfair to keep him locked up based on conduct but there are a lot of unfair judges out there.

Great observation. I hadn't noticed that before. It must be a mistake by the production staff who is in charge of showing the exterior shots of buildings, houses, etc.

Thanks for another most excellent recap, Mauricio. You are so good at presenting each episode that you recap in a consistently entertaining and informative fashion. We are so fortunate to have you as a guide through these often murky and confusing proceedings.

While I fully understand the disdain that many here have for Virginia, I think that the extreme negativity toward Salma is largely undeserved. I keep recalling that sweet and apparently loving scene between her and Jorge that kicked this whole thing off in the first episode. So what has she actually done to earn our disrespect? She has withheld Virginia's origins from Jorge (as well as from us) and showed preference for Virginia over Verónica. As best as I can recall, that's pretty much it. On the other hand, Jorge has proved himself to be a self-righteous cold fish. I like Salma and think that she is a very beautiful woman and think that the snide comments about her possibly surgically enhanced appearance are unfair if not totally inaccurate.

Salma is unfairly biased against Veronica and has been since she was a child, that's why people are against her. Salma is against Veronica because Veronica cuts into the money she was planning for Virginia (remember, Virginia was adopted first).

It's not unreasonable to think that Salma is the one who poisoned Virginia against Veronica in the first place.

All of Salma's actions on this show have been designed to get rid of Veronica and separate Veronica from Jorge & Emiliano.

When Jorge investigated Salma's background and discovered she was Virginia's birth mother, he finally understood why Salma wanted to get rid of Veronica ...because she wanted it all for Virginia.

But now Salma is realizing that Veronica may have been right about Virginia all along.

At this point, Jorge has no room to talk about Salma because he, too, is trying to get rid of Veronica. It will be ironic if SALMA is the one who puts Jorge & Veronica back together.

 

Three things this morning---Carlos, I really don't know about Selma's possibly surgically enhanced appearance and so I have never commented on that. However, for her age, she really does look great. We all should look that good as we age.
The other half of your comment is well taken. The worst that Selma has done is as you have said is to keep her daughters origins hidden. I add, also not being very nice to Veronica. Both however are not criminal offences.

I noticed the expressions on both Jorge and Emi's faces when the new last minute evidence was presented. Emi looked angry that Marty along with Vero could actually be innocent and not involved in any way with the swindle. Jorge on the other hand looked to me anyway, like his brain was spinning like a little hamster running on a spinning wheel.

More on the judge---In Orange County California a judge decided to disobey a mandatory law and make up his own while issuing a sentence. The case was a very bad one and the people were outraged at the relative light sentence that the judge handed out. A recall of the judge is now being worked on. An interesting thing is that the judges union, coalition or whatever it is called rose up to support the embattled judge. How dare the people question a judges decision to disobey a mandatory law and rule the way that he sees fit.-----Is it any different in Mexico?
I doubt it. A judge has tremendous power and can make his decision based on anything
that he wants to make it on, whether relevant to the case or not. Is it right? No, but he/she is the judge and that's the way it is. End of story.

You had lots of great lines and turns of phrase, many already cited by others ("she secretly hopes her baby will have a brain," Mariana "gets a little chin touchy" with Pablo, "CSI Padre Juan.")

Your struggle to force yourself to watch Raymunda emote at the OG's grave was a hoot (and one I can easily relate to).

I loved the little role reversal thing that continues for Vero: After her heroic race to present the exonerating evidence (and instruct the judge on a point of law!), she rescues our hero; then she sends him roses and a mariachi serenata and chooses the perfect song: Si nos dejan, nos vamos a querer toda la vida (If they let us, we'll love each other all our lives)

Manny and Ginny – I guess it was inevitable. Now we just wait for them to turn on each other. (And how funny to hear Manny lament the loss of El Purgatorio.)

I wonder if Lucía will tell the gang where Pablo is, and if so, if Pablo will rush back to Mexico to search for his moronic little media naranja... because honestly, if any two people belong together and deserve each other, it's Pablo and Ana Perla.

I don't feel strongly about Salma's departure, but I hope it doesn't mean we won't get the full story about Virginia's origins.

I'm not really a fan of Salma. She has always come off as being cold to me. Her treatment of Matilde and Veronica have always bugged me since she never really had a reason to dislike them other than that she wanted to be on Virginia's side.

I do think that Salma can be redeemed because she like Raymunda have both behaved similarily. It'll be interesting to see what the writers do with Salma's character and if she and Nicolas do end up together.

Yes. Emi was very upset that Marty had been given his freedom. I think that at least with him the real reasons he had to keep Marty locked up was not because he thought that Marty had cheated the family company, but that he was getting back at Marty for taking Veronica away from him.

I hope that Lucia does tell them where Pablo is and the reasons he had to leave with Mariana. I also hope that Lucia will tell Pablo that Ana Perla has vanished and that he'll come on home and rescue her from the clutches of her new boss.

I hope that Nanci's words will have some effect on Julio and that he will finally decide to move on with his life.

Pablo's miraculously recovery of his hand is like the miraculously recovery he had after being beaten to a pulp by Manny and minutes later being able to walk over to the Hoyle and take a shower then the next day ride on that horse to rescue AP from the arranged marriage to Julio.

Hahahaha! Yes. Pablo does need to use that other side of his brain and be clear with Mariana about his marital and father status. He made the same mistake of not being clear once before and it caused so much problems. He does not learn from his mistakes at all.

I think Julio is a pretty decent guy if he can just stay away from maniac Manny, and maybe somebody could teach him how to read like that really nice school teacher and maybe they could give it a go.they look pretty good together, and then he can get his life started and forget about ana perla because that ship has sailed and it is in troubled waters. the writers need to get those freaky monkeys out of there and get back to those typewriters and write a decent ending for these two people (Pablo & ana perla).

Veronica was supposed to teach Julio how to read and write but the writers seemed to have dropped that storyline. I liked Julio in the beginning but I think that his character (like Nanci's) went downhill when he refused to accept that Ana Perla loved Pablo.

I'm liking Salma a lot right now. Just saw the episode and think she made sense in what she was saying to Jorge ,and it was genuine. Genuine also her conversation with Nicolas. She is a beautiful woman, and for me she's becoming a very strong, interesting one who can express her deep feelings and move on, looking for something better for herself. As for the plastic surgery issue, what does that have to do with anything? I completely "fast forward" when reading any of that stuff.

I will say that I felt bad that you had to force yourself to watch those stomach turning scenes. Thanks for taking one for the team. I just hope the writers are done showing us how close Manny and Ginny have become.

tquir, ITA about the building mix-up. I noticed it too. The exterior building they are using now to show Marty's apartment is the same exterior they used to show for his offices.

Duchess, I asked the exact same question the other day about Vero's wedding ring. I have been keeping tabs on it and she has not been wearing it. She knows that Marty has it and is wearing it on a chain. He told her he would give it to her when she was ready to wear it, or when she asked for it, or something like that. I have not liked that she is not wearing it.

I think that after all the crappy stuff is over and everything is going well, you know rounded up and settled down they're going to renew their wedding vowels because the first time they got married he was deceiving her he was out for revenge so there was no real commitment, so he'll probably put the Rings back on the finger when they do the wedding vowels again at the end when everything's good and everybody's happy. they should let pharrells happy song be their wedding theme song because these people on this tn were miserable during the whole time It was on, and now everybody will be happy.

How I would write the final:

Pablo rescues Ana Perla from mean apartment lady. He agrees to take her back to Mina Escondida to be with her family.

Mariana finds out from Pablo's mom that Pablo & Ana Perla are married & expecting. She confronts them. Ana Perla cries. Mariana tells Pablo he can forget any future in art if he doesn't leave Ana Perla right now and come with her. Ana Perla cries and runs away. Pablo tells Mariana to do what she has to do, but he's staying with AP & their child and runs off to find Ana Perla. Mariana fumes and storms away.

Marty & Botel go with Pablo & Ana Perla back to ME so they can check on the mine and so that Ana Perla can be close to her family. Marty asks Magdalena to take care of Veronica.

Aaron busts out of jail (with Virginia's help) and kidnaps Maggie & Veronica.

Jorge gets a call from Aaron that he's kidnapped Veronica and he wants eleventy billion dollars in the next 24 hours or Veronica is a goner. Jorge looks confused.

Salma is packing to leave and decides to look over the furnishings in the house. She finds the picture of Dim & Ginny that Matilde hid and realizes everything Veronica's been saying about Virginia is true. She confronts Virginia & tells her she should've listened to Veronica all along & not shunned her. Virginia tells her to get out & she hates her. Jorge busts in & tells Salma about Veronica's kidnapping. Virginia clutches her chest & both Salma & Jorge tell her to stop faking. Virginia vows revenge.

Jorge calls Marty & tells him Aaron busted out of jail & kidnapped Veronica & Maggie and that he wants a ransom.

(part 1)
 

(part 2)

Aaron has made his way to Mina Escondida with Veronica & Maggie. Marty is beside himself in grief & vows to kill Aaron. Aaron calls Marty and tells him that he & Botel are to give him all the gold in La Morenita within the next 24 hours or Veronica & Maggie are dead!

Claudia decides to go to Mina Escondida to comfort Marty in his time of need. Jorge, Salma & Emiliano decide to go to ME to assist Marty. Virginia & Dr. Daniel also decide to go to ME.

Aaron calls Virginia & asks her to have a chopper waiting in ME in exchange for some of the gold. She makes the call.

Aaron calls Marty & tells him to deliver the gold to the top of the cliff where the waterfall is or else. Marty tells Jorge, Salma & Emiliano what Aaron's demands are. Emiliano tells Marty that he will put his dislike for him aside, to save Veronica. They get to work on preparing the gold.

Marty, Emiliano, Botel & Jorge go to the meeting place on top of the cliff. Aaron has Veronica and Maggie tied up at the edge of the cliff. Marty & the gang deliver the gold, then Aaron pistol whips Maggie and says Sorry Sucka and fires the gun in Marty's direction. It misses and hits Jorge instead. Botel & Emiliano charge Aaron and Aaron shoots Veronica! Then Marty busts a cap in Aaron's ass and Aaron stumbles towards the cliff and falls off but taking Veronica with him.

Meanwhile Manny hops in the copter with the gold and orders the pilot to take off at gunpoint. Manny is playing with his gun and it accidentally fires, taking the chopper down in a fiery explosion. RIP Manny.

The gang heads to Pierre's hotel. Marty, Jorge & Emiliano are grief stricken. Claudia pops up for "support." Claudia lines, Pierre lines. The miners have been looking, they can't find Veronica's body. They vow to keep looking. Marty is destroyed.

 

(part 3)

6 months later, they have decided to declare Veronica dead; they will have a memorial service. Marty is still destroyed; Claudia is still there for support.

Salma stayed to take care of Jorge (he wasn't hurt too badly) until he recovered, but now it's time for her to leave. She checks her email and sees an attachment. She clicks on the attachment & it's the video of Virginia in bed with Dr. Daniel plotting to get rid of the Prado Castelos including Salma, so she could have it all. Salma feels like a fool believing in Virginia and guilty for how she treated Veronica.

At the memorial service, Marty, Emiliano & Jorge are destroyed. Maggie & Botel are destroyed. Ana Perla is about to give birth; she and Pablo are destroyed. Pablo can't get any work selling his art in New York, nobody will return his calls and so he has been working in Marty's construction office. Even Claudia sees how much Marty loved Veronica.

Salma comes in and sits next to Jorge & Emiliano. Dr. Dan is sitting in the back. Monserrat & Mariana are also in the back and so is Nicolas.

Virginia comes in, crying crocodile tears about how she loved her dear prima Veronica and it's SOOOO sad BOO HOO HOOOO. Jorge comforts Virginia & calls her hija; Emiliano hugs her too. Just then Salma jumps up and tells Virginia to STOP IT! Virginia never loved Veronica, Virginia HATED Veronica and hated the rest of them too!

Everyone is in shock, Virginia protests, Dr. Dan in the back eating popcorn & enjoying the show.

Salma whips out the picture of Demetrio & Virginia embracing and shows everyone the video of Virginia & Dr. Daniel in bed plotting to get rid of the Prado Castelos so she could have it all! Emi & Marty angrily confront Virginia; Jorge tells Virginia to leave the Prado Castelos and never darken their door ever again.

"And Virginia killed Matilde, too! I have the proof!" says Veronica from the back of the chapel, aided by Nanciyaga!

Everyone is shocked; Marty runs over to Veronica & they embrace. Emiliano goes in for his embrace too but Nanciyaga holds him back & tells him that White Woman is not for him; White Woman is destined for Patron. Emiliano looks at the happy couple sadly, finally realizing he has lost. Claudia looks at Marty/Veronica too, knowing she too has lost.

Virginia starts screaming at the Prado Castelos about how much she hated them all, especially Veronica and she wishes they would all die! Veronica tells her to enjoy her last bits of freedom because the Po Po are on their way to take Virginia for killing Matilde and also orchestrating the fraud on Prado Castelo Jewelers.

Virginia feels faint and clutches her chest; Jorge tells her to stop faking. Virginia crumples down on the ground saying she's having a heart attack; Emiliano tells her to stop faking. Dr. Daniel realizes Virgina is NOT faking and slips out of the chapel. Veronica & Botel realize Virginia isn't faking and Botel applies CPR but it is too late; Virginia is dead. Everyone is shocked. Salma cries for her hija. Nicolas is there to offer his support

3 months later, everyone has gathered for a celebration. Botel & Magdalena are getting married, with Veronica & Marty as padrinos.

At the reception, Veronica asks for her ring back; Marty happily gives it to her & promises to be with her forever and ever. She pats her belly and says "WE'LL be together forever and ever."

Ana Perla & Pablo had their baby; it's a girl named Ana Crescencio. They live in Grumps' house. Emiliano offered Pablo a job designing jewelry and he accepted.

The rest of the Goat Family is there; they are in town in part to send Blanquita off to nursing school.

Pierre & Claudia have decided to give it a try one more time.

Mariana & Julio catch each others' eye.

Jorge & Salma have decided to reconcile; Montserrat catches Nicolas' eye.

Emiliano is not there. He is in Mina Escondida with Nanciyaga. He has decided to stay to study pre-Hispanic art with Nanciyaga. He will work in a creative role with Prado Castelo.

Veronica has accepted the General Manager position that Emiliano once had. She thanks her padre Jorge and he is happy that she has finally forgiven him. Salma is happy that Veronica has forgiven her too.

Everyone is happy. FIN.

WOW! You need to go work for Televisa and take over for the monkey writers. That was a great way to end this story. The cliff idea was good. It would include a lot of great scenery. One question, was Arturo at the wedding with Blanquita?
